Hello everyone and welcome.
I'm, of course, your host, thomas Townley.
And well, it's getting warmer,at least.

(00:44):
Well, it's getting warmer, atleast the weather has finally
cooperated.
We've got our last false winterthis past few days, so we're
back to spring.
It's getting warmer outside.
It's getting warmer whenpeople's thoughts turn to well

(01:04):
outdoors, let's face it.
And my thoughts turn to thingslike headcanon.
I've been thinking over thepast few days that the Frasier
series just takes place inFrasier's head.
Takes place in Frasier's head.
Remember that episode of Cheerswhere he was going to jump

(01:28):
because Lilith was leaving him?
What if he jumped andeverything in Frasier was just
in his head?
Yeah, maybe.
Good thought as any.

(01:49):
I like doing these littleThought puzzles, if you will.
You know it's interesting tosee what comes.
Of course, we've had some crazytimes here In the United States
, thanks to the orange monsterthat's in the United States,
thanks to the orange monsterthat's in the white house and

(02:09):
his toady, you know, trying toraise prices.
Uh, don't look at your 401ks,america it's, it's a crap fest,
you know.
Mine's down like $1,300 or yeah, $1,300 or so, and it's just
the beginning.
Now China's threatening morereciprocal tariffs and that's

(02:34):
caused some problems withNintendo.
But we'll get there later on inthe show.
So let's go first to the StarTrek news.
And Star Trek news and this isgoing to be a short one begins

(02:58):
with Star Trek Strange NewWorlds, which has dropped.
The first teaser for itsupcoming third season can be
seen online.
Teases 10 brand new adventuresaboard the USS Enterprise during
Christopher Pike's years,including a murder mystery and
the return of Paul Wesley asJames T Kirk.
The new season also resolvedthe second season finale
Cliffhanger, which saw theEnterprise crew locked in a
fierce battle with the Gorn thatleft Captain Patel and her life

(03:21):
hanging in the balance.
So, but here's the kickerInstead of giving us a date for
the show, instead they've givenus coming this summer.
Well, thank you, that's veryvague.
June, july, august, I guessit's only one of those months,

(03:44):
but you know I like to have thistype of stuff planned out
anyway.
Let's go on to the dc comicsnews, and DC Comics News begins

(04:07):
with HBO's upcoming DC seriesLanterns, which has added Nathan
Fillion as Guy Gardner, one ofthe multiple Green Lanterns in
the cast.
Now, this will by far beFillion's first time playing a
lantern.
He debuted as one of DC's greenheroes in the 2011 animated
film Green Lantern EmeraldKnights.
In it, he was the voice of HalJordan, one of the other big

(04:30):
Green Lantern members.
He also played the role againin 2012's Justice League Doom
and 2013's Justice League, theFlashpoint Paradox.
Also 2015's Justice LeagueThrone of Atlantis, 2018's Death
of Superman and 2019's Reign ofSuperman.
Each of these animated films isa straight-to-DVD release In

(04:51):
2023,.
He was cast as the GreenLantern in James Gunn's
live-action film Superman, butas Gardner instead of Jordan.
Now this film opens in theatersvia Warner Brothers this July,
and they released a new teasertrailer for that.
Ah man, this film opens intheaters via Warner Brothers
this July, and they released anew teaser trailer for that.
Man, this looks good.
I won't lie, this looks good.

(05:13):
You know.
My only big thing is they'reusing the Kingdom Come S on his
chest.
But you know, but that'speanuts.
If you can make me look thisman and make me think that this
is Superman and this isMetropolis and it's not as dark

(05:38):
as the last jury crap, I'll befine.
Anyway, we'll have some morenews later, but let's go on to
the Star Wars news.
Roger roger, sean Levy'scurrently untitled Star Wars
movie in the works at Lucasfilm, just got an update from its
writer.

(05:58):
First announced in 2022,updates about the film have been
sparse until the end ofFebruary, when Kathleen Kennedy
confirmed that it will be setfive years after the Rise of
Skywalker and feature all newcharacters.
Now it has been reported thatRyan Gosling will star in the
film, but he is currently theonly name attached to the cast.
Collider's Christina Radishrecently caught up with the

(06:19):
film's scribe, jonathan Tropper,to promote his new project,
your Friends and Neighbors, andwhile he admitted that he
couldn't spill too muchinformation, he did provide a
brief update on how developmentis going on the film.
After confirming that it blowshis mind every day to be working
on a Star Wars movie, he toldCollider, quote that gig is
something I've dreamed about mywhole life.

(06:41):
We're still working on it.
For various reasons, I can'tsay anything about it, but we're
working on it Now.
Levy is fresh off the heels ofDeadpool and Wolverine the only
Marvel movie of 2024 that turnedout to be one of the most
successful franchise entries inthe franchise history.
Levy is also the secondarydirector on Stranger Things,

(07:01):
trailing only series creatorsRoss and Matt Duffer in their
directorial credits.
It has been confirmed that hewill helm at least one episode
in the fifth and final seasoncoming to Netflix later this
year.
Levy also further stretched hissci-fi muscles a few years ago
with the Atom Project, the RyanReynolds-led time-traveling
thriller that also starredJennifer Gardner and Mark
Ruffalo.

(07:21):
Levy first worked with Tropperon the Atom Project and now the
two will reunite for theupcoming Star Wars movie.
Tropper will also write thescript for Lucky, the upcoming
series starring Anna Taylor-Joyand Timothy Olyphant Timothy
Olyphant, one of my favoritenames to say.
Now let's go on to the MarvelNews.

(07:42):
Marvel News begins with theX-Men, which is one of Marvel's

(08:06):
powerhouses and the main reasonthat it's returning to the team
for a one-shot that ties intoone of the best X-Men stories of
all time.
Writer Chris Claremont tookover writing the X-Men with
1974's X-Men number 94 and wrotethe team until 1991, giving the
X-Men brilliant stories likethe Dark Phoenix Saga.
Now there's another amazingX-Men story from the early years
of Claremont's run, which isDays of Future Past, with artist

(08:29):
John Byrne.
Now, days of Future Past showedreaders the dark, dystopian
future for the X-Men, which hasbecome part of the major part of
the X-Men mythos.
Marvel has returned to Days ofFuture Past multiple times over
the years and they're about todo again with Chris Claremont's
prelude to Future Past no 1,which releases in July of 2025.
This book celebratesClaremont's 50th year, plus has

(08:53):
a writer at Marvel, and thepublishers decide to spice the
whole thing up by adding in arare Claremont story that was
once only available in anout-of-print hardcover called
Marvel Made Paragon Collection, chris Claremont Quote Revisit
the nightmarish world oftomorrow that has days of future
past in the revelatory preludeby the legendary scribe and
illustrated by his extreme X-Mencollaborator, salvador La Roca.

(09:16):
Discover at last how thesurviving X-Men saved one of
their own, rachel Summers, fromher torment as a hound, and find
out which surprising faces havea vital part to play in the
Legion of Resistance Presentalongside the original saga in
which Claremont and John Byrneunveiled their darkly dystopian
vision of the Marvel Universe, where Sentinels stalk the Earth

(09:38):
and the X-Men are humanity'sonly hope until they die.
The giant-sized one-shot willalso include bonus materials
that will bring Claremont's 50plus years in comics history,
according to the press releaseNow, they also gave readers the
first look at this comic with acover from Salvador La Roca.
So time to revisit the days offuture past, which are becoming

(10:03):
the days of present.
Future, I guess.
And the big Marvel news, ofcourse, was that big teaser that
they put on for Marvel'sDoomsday, avengers Doomsday.
Instead of bringing the entirecast of the Russo Brothers'
upcoming Marvel Studios movieAvengers Doomsday on stage at

(10:24):
CinemaCon the entire cast of theRusso Brothers' upcoming Marvel
Studios movie Avengers Doomsdayon stage at CinemaCon, the
studio opted for a livefive-hour social media stunt
during which it announced thecast via the actors on set
chairs.
Now the biggest news is thatthe announcement made it certain
that stars from the 20thCentury Fox and X-Men part of
the franchise are coming back.
Patrick Stewart will come backas Charles Xavier, ian McKellen

(10:46):
as Magneto, alan Cumming asNightcrawler, rebecca Romijn as
Kelsey Grammer as Beast.
Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, james Marsden as Cyclops, kelsey
Grammer as Beast and Gambithimself, meaning Channing Tatum
is also in for the fun, despitelast seeing him in Deadpool and
Wolverine.
Now, these names are not justconfirmations.

(11:08):
We've known that for a whilethat the whole MCU gang and
those new to Marvel, such as theFantastic Four's first step
foursome of Pedro Pascal, vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and
Evan Moss Bacharach are boardingthe Big Avengers movie which is
rolling cameras in London Now.
Also confirmed were ChrisHemsworth's Thor, annie Mackey's
, sam Wilson, slash CaptainAmerica, sebastian Stan's Bucky

(11:32):
Barnes slash Winter Soldier, vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm,
invisible Woman, letitia Wrightas Suri, paul Rudd as Ant-Man,
hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, dwight Russell as John Walker,
tanakh Hurwit, huerta Mejia asNamor, tom Hiddleston as Loki,
simu Liu as Shang-Chi, florencePugh, lois Pullman, danny

(11:54):
Ramirez, danny Harbour, winstonDuke, and the list just kept
going until it ended, of course, with Robert Downey Jr's Doom.
So you know, it's of coursewith Robert Downey Jr's Doom.
So you know there's probablyway more that they're not
telling us.
This is just, hey, you know, look at all this list and then
we get to the movie and it'slike they're just pulling like

(12:19):
old Marvel stars in from youknow, everywhere.
So at least we got that to lookforward to.
Spider-man Beyond theSpider-Verse has finally set a
new release date to swing intotheaters.
The Spider-Verse team appearedat CinemaCon on Monday to
announce that the film will hittheaters on June 4th 2027, four

(12:42):
years after the previous entry.
Now across the Spider-Verse setrecords for the franchise and
also showed the first footagefrom the new film.
Miles Morales said in thefootage quote Everyone keeps
telling me how my story issupposed to go.
I'm going to do my own thing, unquote.
Now, bob Pruschetti and JustinK Thompson direct the latest

(13:03):
sequel in the franchise from ascript credited to Phil Lord,
chris Miller and David Callahan.
The release date has been oneof the most speculative, after
it fell off the release calendarback in 2023.
It previously was dated forMarch 29th of this year, just
nine months after Across theSpider-Verse, just nine months
after Across the Spider-Verse.

(13:24):
So well, again, more good news, something to look forward to,
and we need a lot to lookforward to.
Right now.
I tell you what.

(13:48):
Let's go on to the Geek Newswith a new season of South Park,
which will premiere on July 9th, promising overflowing toilets,
ketamine and a space-travelingditty, plus a violent war
against Canada breaks out in thetrailer for Season 27 of the
series co-created by Trey Parkerand Matt Stone.
In one scene, butters yells atButters as an air traffic

(14:11):
control tower as planes explodeinto each other in the
background, saying, oh crap,we're all gonna get fired.
Now the trailer begins with anominous live action scene of a
desolate swing set and the wingof an airplane.
The acclaimed drama returns.
It reads before snapping intoSouth Park's classic animation
style.
So again, more good news.

(14:32):
We need something to watch inJuly, and South Park always is
good at, you know, puttingsilver linings on dark clouds.
Also coming, the Simpsons guyand Bob's Burgers have locked a
massive four-season renewal atFox, according to Daily Variety.

(15:17):
The linear reruns of AmericanDad will continue to air on TBS
and fellow Warner Bros, discovery Network's Adult Swim

Now, according to this quote, this new deal celebrates the
eternal popularity of theseiconic comedies, as well as the
enduring prolific relationshipwe continue to enjoy with our

(15:39):
friends at 20th TelevisionAnimation and the brilliant
creators that goes double forSeth this time around and

episodes of these shows.
