Speaker 1 (00:02):
Coming up on today's show, an influencer becomes an unwilling
poster girl for bloating tablets. Madison Woolly addresses her boyfriend's
famous past relationship, Tammy Hembro throwshade at Matt Paul's new girlfriend,
and the Kardashian Sisters feud over who is the copycat. Hello,
and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the hottest
(00:24):
influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm Sophie Torbert,
and I have to put an apology out there to
Taylor Laudner. I'm sure he's not listening to this podcast,
but I did say on Tuesday's episode that he was
a foot shorter than Taylor's a head shorter.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yes, yes, a head shorter.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
And this was because unbeknownst to me, I was seeing
a very skewed perspective of him on TikTok. He is
a short king, but he's not that short. So he
is five foot eight to all five foot six. There
was varying degrees. I said, no, it said five foot
eight to five ten. It's unlike Sophie to embellish something
though was a very unlikely, But I mean in saying
that Taylor Swift is still five to ten, so she
(01:03):
is still taller, but from this video, he looked like
an ant standing next to There's nothing wrong with having
a high difference between a man and a woman. It's
just I think you were surprised because I think with
movie stars you always think that they're taller than they are,
not shorter.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
But he definitely is a short king. He is hot.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I have been getting into a bit of TikTok of
him back in the day. I mean, he's still a
very good looking guy. It's pretty funny because off the
back of this reunion with Taylor Swift on stage last week,
Taylor Lautner has continued to shock fans, this time by
revealing that everyone has been pronouncing his surname wrong. So
to be fair, he did try and spread the word
back in twenty twenty two during an E News interview
(01:40):
and in the video he introduced himself with the correct
pronunciation of his surname, which did gain a bit of traction. However,
since he's been on stage with Taylor last week, everyone's
interested in him again, so this video has gone viral.
So he was in an interview on a podcast and
he reminded fans how to actually say his name. I
think I'll let Taylor answer the question for you.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
It is technically Lautner. What it is my fault. Nobody
knows how it's actually pronounced, because I never corrected anybody
nover decades. I'm just never in interviews or anything. Stop
somebody said, it's not Latner, it's Lautner. Just go with whatever.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
It's fine.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
It's like tomatoes, strata.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Latner, Latner, Loutner, it's not the same thing.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
That name sounds very German to me.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
I feel like Lautner is the sort of movie star
version of it.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, well, for someone.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Who has a German last name and that it's difficult
to pronounce. I did feel really bad for him because
can you imagine becoming like a grade celebrity, famous, and
then everyone pronounces your name incorrectly and it gets to
a point where you can't say anything because everyone knows
you as the wrong name.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I know.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
It just reminds you of all those times where your
name has been incorrectly pronounced and you just go with it.
It's like also when people say a different variation of
a word and you're like, do I.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Repeat that same wrong pronunciation back.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
You just die inside when someone says your last name wrong,
don't you like you can just see we have a
client and she always says this guy who's.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Quite high profile's name incorrectly, and.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
It's always when she's introducing him on stage and his
face is just the other day, I was on the
phone and someone called me Kate Tuba and I just
had flashbacks to primary school because we used to get.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Tuba towber Teuber.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Were you embarrassed to share that you got back with
John after a public break up. Madison Willy has revealed
more details about her move to Noosa So The Influencer
revealed recently that she's moving back in with her parents
as she searches for an apartment in Sydney to buy.
So last time we spoke about it, we had a
lot of unanswered questions, which Madison has kindly now answered
(03:43):
for us in an episode.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Of her podcast Do You Get the Vibe?
Speaker 1 (03:46):
She listened to this episode and was like, shit, I
better actually acknowledge some of these. Of course, they were
doing it under the guise of they had this challenge
called spill your guts or Feel your Guts which was
taken from one of the late shows. It was actually
a very good concept and they were saying that people
are sent the question in However, I think some of
the questions were planted, because I think they were using
some of them as a bit of a click bait. Yeah. Well,
(04:06):
she did reiterate in this podcast the movie is only temporary,
so she hopes that it's going to be only two
months now. Caitlin didn't seem too happy about it though,
so she joked that she's.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Freaking out about it and is mad. But I do
feel like even though she was joking, there seems to
be an element of truth in there.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Well, you know when they go, oh, we'll make it work,
We're gonna fly back every week, and it never happens,
and they always have so many technical difficulties with their podcasts,
even when they're recording in the same room. Well, she
did say that she would be flying back and forth
from NUSA to Sydney to actually record, but that's a
very costly exercise and I want to know how lucrative.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Their podcast is for them to be doing that.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
They did announce that they hit one million downloads, which
really surprised me. The biggest news I thought was the
fact that she said that Jonathan is going to be
moving to NUSA with her for those two months, so
she described it as an extended vacation together, which I
think is putting a bit of mayo on it. It's
so clear that her parents must be on a European holiday,
as you suggested, because it seems like they must have
this luxurious house in NUSA to themselves. I mean, I'd
(05:07):
be happy to come along to that house. Why don't
they move Caitlyn into the house as well. It was
pretty interesting because they did touch on how wealthy Madison's
parents worked in the podcast, and they were saying how
there was a question about I think she recently went
somewhere in America that was really expensive. I can't remember
the location, but someone asked if her parents pay for
the trip, which she said yes they did, and then
(05:27):
Caitlyn revealed that Madison's parents had taken her to the
Maldives with Madison. What do you guys think about parents
when you're an adult actually paying for your trip?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Is this a ya or a definitely go with Mum
and dad wanted to take me on a trip.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
I think it's definitely the definition of privilege to have
your parents pay for you go on a trip. I
can definitely see why it gets some people off side.
Do you guys think it's a little bit embarrassing for
Jonathan Souer at the age of thirty to be moving
in with his girlfriend's parents. No, not really, because he's
moving there to be with Madison.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
He's moving there to actually make their relationship.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
But it's an unusual situation where someone in their thirties
can just drop everything to move into state. I think
with the cost of living crisis, we're going to see
this happening a lot more on people having to move
back in with their parents. I don't think that that
is why this move is happening at the moment, though,
influences moving back in with their millionaire parents. Yeah. On
the topic of Jonathan, a very juicy question came up,
(06:20):
so Madison was asked if Jonathan ever speaks about his
relationship with Shanni Grimmond and how it makes her feel now.
They didn't name Shanni, they referred to it as his
other public relationship.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
It seemed like they.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Were using Shanny for downloads though, well, what does she say?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
How is she bothered? By it well, it seemed very polished.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
She said that Jonathan doesn't often speak about Shanny, but
occasionally she may come up if they're talking about a
past experience. For example, it came up in conversation that
they went to the Maldives together, and she then finished
up by saying that Jonathan speaks very highly of Shanny
and his very respect. I get the vibe that Madison,
being a bit younger, was a total fan girl of
Shanni and Jonathan and their relationship would be a sort
(07:03):
of sensitive point for her because even when we interviewed
Jonathan like four years ago as part of our podcast,
he kindly gave up his time to be on there,
and we promoed the episode as he was revealing something
about his relationship with Shani or touching on her, and
this is when he started his relationship with Madison and
wasn't happy about it, and.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
She was not happy.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
We got a very angry message from Jonathan saying that
he didn't like the way we promoted the episode and
with his partner wasn't happy about it.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Four years on, it's only okay for her to use
it for clickbait for her own podcast, Good Morning Everyone.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Usually it's not my day with some meditation or movement
like yoga, but I work up late.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
I was still treated to a really beautiful sunrise.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Tammy Hambro's ex fiance Matt Paul has hard launched his
new girlfriend. The former Iron Man shared a photo of
him and his mystery girl, Maddie Woodward to his Instagram story. Now, Kate,
when do we know about Maddie? Well, not a lot,
because her Instagram account in set deprivate, and he also
only has around three thousand followers, so it doesn't appear
to be well known. At a stretch, though you could
(08:06):
say that Maddie and Tammy looked fairly similar. They're both white, blonde,
and fit. There is also already speculation that Maddie is
closely following Tammy, so while they don't follow each other
on social media, influencer updates Au pointed out a similarity
with their posting so On the same day, Tammy urged
her followers to get their skin checked after she revealed
(08:26):
she had a melanoma cut out of her leg. Maddie
shared a photo of her and a bikini at the
beach with the caption laying in the sun has its perks.
But should probably book that skin check. Surely this is
just a coincidence.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
It's a bit strange.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
It is definitely odd.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Do we think that there's similar behavior to what London
was well at.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Ocasing last time.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
I don't think Maddie is some superfan that was saying
that they loved Matt and Tammy as a couple. But
it seems like Tammy is on her radar, which of
course she would be. Some people think though, that Tammy
has thrown shade at this relationship announcement. So she's currently
holiday in Europe with her family, and she shared a
TikTok video of her and a sister Ava on a
balcony miming to this.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
One night how take can walk along the river, So
we get the young girl come.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
The look that he gave her made a sever because
he always used to.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
That way.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
You gotta remember, though, this isn't just an X. This
is an X that she has a child and also
an ex fiance. I kept thinking about that stunning ring
that she had, because that engagement was beautiful. Maybe it's
on marketplace right now, Oh I could snap it up
from a bargain, or maybe she did the flush down
the toilet like Lara bengele on. You wouldn't flush that
down the toilet. Now, fans work quick to pick up
on the apparent shade. Someone wrote the timing. Another commenter
(09:48):
called Tammy out, writing say what, geez, Tam, you could
have just been happy for mat instead of getting salty
about it. He's the father of your baby. Why shade him?
Hold on a second, wasn't he denying that he was
in a relationship a couple of weeks, because remember there
were those comments where he was saying, oh yeah, definitely
upgraded here, and then he was claiming it was to
do with something else.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I think that was like a couple of months ago.
But yeah, he really wasn't long ago.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
This relationship has clearly been in the works for a while,
especially now he's gone Facebook official. That doesn't just happen
overnight Instagram official. Sorry, I can definitely see why Tammy's
throwing some shade. Then I think I would be too,
and I'd be saying I'm fucking Tammy hembro. This girl
is not a touch on me. Can't get enough of outspoken.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Like all due respect. Everyone thought it was so sponsored
and they thought it was like that, But I know
that I don't care what everyone thinks.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I didn't make that choice. Kim and Courtney Kardashian are
having a feud at the moment, and it is over
their wedding.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Now, Kim's wedding was what.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Eight years ago, Nah, it was like nine years ago,
nine years ago, But there's a copycat feud that is
going on. So things already were tense between Kim and Courtney,
but they boiled over on last week's episode of The
Kardashian So in this episode, Courtney accused Kim of stealing
her Adulcy and Kabana wedding looks. Now, to put that
into context, it's not like Courtney just wore Adulgi and
(11:55):
Kabana wedding dress. Her entire wedding was designed by the
fashion house. Courtney and Travis wore multiple nineties archival looks
like they kept calling them from the brand, and the
whole Kardashian family was dressed in Dulci and Kabana. The
brand was so in your face at their wedding that
a lot of people thought the event was sponsored by them.
And it really is the first time that we've seen
(12:16):
a celebrity do something like this. It almost created this
new form of fashion advertising. And I think the reason
that it stood out so much too, is because Courtney
Kardashian has completely changed her look since dating Travis Barker.
So it was a very gothic nineties look, and I
do really align that look.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
With her now Now.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Just four months after Courtney's wedding, Kim accepted a deal
to be the creative director of Adultian Kabana campaign, which
she also featured in.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Now.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Courtney clearly was not happy about this. She felt like
Kim was trying to overshadow her, and she said it
took away from the specialness of her wedding. She also
accused Kim of using her wedding as a business opportunity
and said she chose money over her Now. Kim wasn't
having any of this. She pointed out the hypocrisy, saying
that Courtney was the copycat.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Let's throw to what she said.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
I got married in Italy, am I saying you copied
me by getting married in Italy? Who performed at my wedding?
Andrea Bocelli, who performed at Courtney's wedding. Andrea Bcelli. You
stole my wedding country and my wedding performer. Andrea Bocelli
is my favorite male singer of our time, but I'm
copying her. Dorchi Vita lifestyle.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Now, are you guys team Courtney or team Kim? I
was Team Courtney until I saw Kim's response and I thought, well,
is Courtney making a mountain out of a mole hill.
I do find it a little bit ironic that Courtney
accused Kim of putting money first, because Courtney may claim
that she wasn't motivated financially to include Dulci and Cabana
in her wedding, but it's.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Hard to believe.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Like her whole wedding literally came across as an ad
and you had the reality show there, filming all of
the behind the scenes meetings at the fashion house, all
the photos. It was basically a PR spectacle. There is
no way Courtney and Travis didn't get paid by doultch
In Combannet. Chris Janet would not have allowed it.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
I was totally team Kim.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
I mean, she is the biggest reason that any of
her sisters have made it and are getting these opportunities
to begin with. That is so rough, but it's true,
and I get that the whole family has made the show,
but Kim is clearly the star of the show.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And that's where the issue lies.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Because even in the episode, it was Kim's birthday and
we see Chris Jenna saying to Kim you were the
leader of this family. And that is where why Courtney
is upset. It's not about her being involved with dult
Chin Kabana. It's the feeling that Kim is the star
of the show and she's just her older sister who's
not as relevant. So isn't it pretty common for the
(14:43):
Kardashians to piggyback off each other with brand deals. You
often see them promoting the same brand. I did feel
for Courtney though, when she said that she would just
like to have one thing that was her own, because
they you know, it does seem to be that anytime
one of them does something, they.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
All have to support. It all become suddenly that fat.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
I did get that, because it does seem like Kim
does try and trump her sisters and what they're doing.
I mean, we saw it when Kylie began getting very
successful with her makeup brand, Kim suddenly brought out her
own makeup brand. He saw that when Chloe Kardashian had
Good America, Kim then brought out Skims. The thing that
I found a bit herebo critical, which Kim brought up,
is that Kylie Jenna recently had a campaign with Dulci
(15:21):
and Kabana too, but she didn't have an issue with that.
Courtney didn't care. But it seems strange because they're always like, oh,
but that was Chris Jenna who did that.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
That was mum's fault.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
It's clear that Courtney and Kim have grown up together
and a lot closer, because Courtney responded that she didn't
expect Kylie to call her because she's in Kylie world.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
So it does seem like that.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
She holds her sister Kim to a higher regard and
expects more from her. I think Kim's always had an
issue because whilst I think Courtney actually did carry a
lot of the show to begin with, with all of
her dramas with Scott and she was very open, I
think in the past five years, when Scott hasn't been
on the scene, Courtney has really played the background role
(15:58):
and she doesn't seem happy to put herself forward for
a lot of these jobs. And that's where we have
seen Kim and Chloe get really close to one another,
and I think that Courtney is a little bit jealous
of their new dynamic that they've got going on. Let's
be honest, the real winners at the end of the
day are Adultchin Cabana. Notice that Courtney isn't directing any
of the blame at the fashion house, but at her sister.
And it's interesting to note that Courtney's wedding apparently generated
(16:21):
seventeen percent more of a demand for the brand than
Kim's campaign. I get that it's sort of a win
for them because people are talking about the brand, but
I also find it a bit awkward and embarrassing that
it's caused so much.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Theres so much a problem between the family. Do you
know didn't weren't They're two dogs.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
In the original series was called Doultchin, Mom's called Kabana.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
I do love that Andre Bercelli has actually weighed into
the argument, so he shared a clip from the episode
and wrote, Dear Kim and Courtney, I'm so flattered that
you both love my voice and I'll always be happy
to sing to you. How do you guys feel though
we've got two weddings coming up? How do you feel
about people copying your ideas well? I feel like I'm
quite flattered when you guys want to use a vendor
(17:00):
or someone that I've had at my wedding. I gave
you literally my whole spreadsheet and said, ask who you want.
I mean, you guys are having the same florists as me.
I think you're doing the same MC. There's a few
things that are lapping over. The difference is when you're
Kim Kardashian and Courtney Kardashian, You've got every opportunity and
every vendor in the world that you can pick from.
So I can sort of see why Kim is annoyed
(17:21):
in that. Yeah, but I think for them it's the competitiveness,
and Kim really thinks of herself as a visionary, so
she I can see why she would think the Courtney
has copied her. I don't want to throw shade at
them because I totally resonated with their argument and just
how completely.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Petty it was.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
I was just like, I actually felt seen. I was like, oh,
I actually feel better that other sisters seem to have
this argument. I saw people weighing in on TikTok, and
one person was like, oh, Kim is such a mean girl.
It's like that is not reflective who she is as
a person in the outside world. That is a sister dynamic.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I actually thought that.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Kim came across quite well because I mean, we saw
in another series where it ended up in a fistfight,
but they were quite and actually listened to one another. Now,
in terms of people copying your wedding ideas, I'm not
on board for it. I think that if you have
something that's really unique and you have clearly made an
effort for that idea to stand out, I think it's
incredibly wrong to copy people.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
But what's unique. Everything's on Instagram, everything's on Pinterest.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Everyone's copying each other. Aren't you the one copying some
of cat stuff? No, but I think that's diary. But
I'm saying that, like, yeah, you can use the same
vendor as someone, But if I turned around and had
the exact same bouquet as you're in the exact same flowers,
I think you might be a.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Little bit upset.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
The family all obviously like Italy, they all obviously like
Andre Bicchelli, he might have sung a different song. I'm
not saying this specific situation, but I'm saying in a
situation where you've got weddings and you've got a lot
of friends getting married at the same time, I mean,
this situation is not that easy to relate to.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
How dare your company uses my content, acting out as
if I have used this supplement before and it has
fixed me within three months. I have never once used this.
You've never reached shout to me regarding this product.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Twenty one year old Chelsea Hall was shocked to discover
that her TikTok videos were being used in ads for
anti bloating pills, even though she never used them. Now,
Chelsea has had a chronic bloating issue for more than
four years and gained a following when she started sharing
about her condition, and she uses her platform to encourage
other women to speak up and seek help if they're
(19:24):
in pain, and she now has a community of eight
thousand people. Now, Chelsea had no idea that she was
the unwilling poster girl for a company called Avira. Now,
Avira is a very popular women's health brand. They have
over one hundred and seventy nine thousand followers on Instagram
and five point seven million followers on TikTok. There's a
(19:44):
lot of Australian influencers who promote Avira, and it really
shocked me that such a large brand was getting involved
with something like that. So Avira sells women's health products,
so it includes those electronic devices that claim to relieve
period pain, and they also of course sell these anti
bloating pills. So did they just lift these photos and
videos fromund TikTok for the marketing campaign. Well, basically they
(20:06):
built this whole marketing campaign around Chelsea claiming that Chelsea
had fixed her chronic condition by using these bloating tablets.
So they used videos and photos in the ad which
they took off her TikTok, and they accompanied it with
text that said, how I took my chronically bloated belly
from this to this in just on the three months.
(20:26):
It then had another caption that said this anti bloating
vitamin from the brand of Vera was the one that
worked for me, and if you want your dream body,
head over to a via dot com. Now, the absolute
kicker is that Chelsea has never ever used these products before.
She's never been approached by the brand. She had no
idea this was happening until one of her German followers alerted.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Her to us. So was the ad campaign in Germany
or no, it was all around Australia.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
That's the other really arrogant thing from this brand. They
have such a large social media following, but they didn't
assume that Chelsea would hear about it, particularly when you
think about the algorithm.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
On social media. Clearly she's talking about.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Her bloating all the time, she has a community of
people interested in it.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
It's pretty obvious that that sort of content is going
to pop up in her feet.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I have heard how basically you have no rights when
you share photos to say Instagram, because they can sell
your photos on for marketing purposes.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
But in this instance, this is.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Just so wrong because not only are they using her
image without her consent, but they're also making up a
false narrative about her using this product. Well its fraudulent
claims if she hasn't actually used the product. Now, the
ABC has been very instrumental in helping Chelsea tell her
story and shine a light on what's been happening. But
before the media coverage, Chelsea hit out on social media
(21:41):
calling out the brand.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Here's a snippet of what she said.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
My severe chronic bloating has been for the last four
plus years. Your magic pill did not fix me. I
have had to undergo surgery in order to be fixed.
The fact that this had to go through a team
full of people in order to be posted and approved.
Blows my mind. How many inconsiderate and insensitive people are there.
(22:09):
If you can't reply to me on Instagram, if you
don't have the decency to apologize and maybe explain your actions,
even though there are no excuses for what you have done,
I'm going to call you out and I'm going to
make everyone realize how much of a scam your company is.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Now her video has had half a million views, and
as someone who's only twenty one, I think she did
a fantastic job of articulating herself and calling out this
absolute false advertising. Chelsea also explained in her video that
she reached out to Avira on Instagram and.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
They viewed the message, but never.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Required and shockingly, Chelsea ended up having her account temporarily
banned by TikTok due to this call out video. I mean,
thankfully it's been restored. But you think that the brand
who is actually using her content without her permission and
making these false claims is the one that should be
banned actually taken the videos down yet in response, I'm
not quite sure. I mean, they haven't put out any
(23:05):
statement at the moment. As Kate said, Chelsea did reach
out to them. They have not replied despite the fact
that they have viewed the message, And I just think
it's appalling that a large company like this, which prides
itself on empowering women, can allegedly lift someone's content. I
just don't understand because if she's an expert in this
field and it's got to own following off the back
of sharing her advice around bloating, why wouldn't this brand
(23:27):
just reach out and want to work with her, And
just I mean, I'm sure she ever got following of
eight thousand, I'm sure she wouldn't be asking for megabucks.
It is very ironic that this brand promotes itself as
being backed by science, but then they don't have case
studies that they feel comfortable using and they'd rather lift
results from someone who's had surgery. Well, I think that's
all we've got time for today. Thanks for joining us
