Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Sophie Torver and coming up on today's show, Tammy Hembrose
Vogue features sparks, copycat claims, and Sammy Robinson's secret tattoo.
But first, Olivia Rodgers' ex husband, Justin mckinn has been
accused of allegedly stealing close to half a million dollars
(00:24):
from his former employer. I was shocked when I saw
this story break in the Herald Sun. Yeah, this story
was a double page spread in Sunday's paper in May,
page twelve, which is high up there for a story
on someone who's relatively unknown to mainstream readers. Now. Ironically,
the news broke the same day Olivia Rodgers celebrated her
(00:44):
first anniversary with her new boyfriend, Hugo. I'm pretty sure
she wouldn't be impressed because her photo was splashed all
over this news story. So there were photos of her
and Justin together, probably not the photos you want to
see on your one year anniversary. Well, this is really
what beef the story up, the inclusion of her name
in it, because she obviously has a much larger profile
(01:05):
than Justin mckinn. I actually think that the one year
anniversary came at a good time, though, because it was
her opportunity to remind her followers that she's been dating
someone else for a year. Her relationship with Justin McKean
is very much in the past, and it is sort
of distinguishing herself from the fresh allegations about him.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
See.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I actually think she would have welcomed this coverage because
when the news broke that she was breaking up with
her husband, there was a lot of speculation about whose
fault it was, and I think when something like this happens,
there's a lot of blame placed on the woman that
they must have done something wrong. I mean, the marriage
only lasted six months. Well, the general theme was that
she got caught up in the wedding and it was
all about the wedding for her, But as she slowly
(01:45):
started speaking on podcasts, it became clear that the issue
was with him. And I think now that this story
has broken, people can see what was really going on
behind the scenes of what looked like a very perfect relationship.
I think it's important to point out that this alleged
took place after Olivia Rodgers and Justin broke up years
after it, yeah, years after this is these are very
(02:07):
recent allegations and it was an interesting move by the
Herald Son because they had their entertainment reporter Fiona Burn
break this story. She has done a lot of stories
in the past on Olivia Rodgers, but technically this is
a court story. But I think, as you pointed out, Sophie,
this has such large entertainment values. I think it was
actually a good move of them to put Fiona Burn
(02:28):
on this story. Well, Amy, you originally said that it
was quite a big spread for someone who is relatively unknown,
but it's all about the prominence of his ex wife,
Olivia Rodgers, and that's why we are hearing so much
about it now. I think we should get into what
Justin has been accused of. So in March this year,
Justin started working for a company called Cosmic Sales, which
trades as Rocket Brands, and the company helps launch pharmaceutical
(02:51):
brands into the market and according to their website, they
provide branding, sales and strategic direction. So Justin was employed
as the head of fire at Rocket and I know
we're all into the JC details here. So according to
the Herald's son. His salary was two hundred thousand dollars
a year. See, this didn't surprise me because from what
I knew of Justin McKean when he was dating Olivia Rodgers,
(03:13):
he seemed to have this high flying CFO role at
a company called Tribe. All I remember is that he
was in charge of their budget for the wedding, and
she was saying, he's got a background in finance, He's
very good at putting the figures together. So when all
of this news broke, I was like, oh my god.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Well, months into his role, staff allegedly notified Rockets managing
director Matt Holmes that Justin was acting erratically. According to
court documents, staff claimed Justin had been sleeping in the
work toilet for up to four hours a day, as
well as taking ninety minute lunch breaks. He was also
accused of leaving the office regularly without finishing his work.
(03:51):
That line about Justin sleeping in the work toilets for
four hours really demonstrates how much he must have been struggling. Yeah,
it's actually very sad when you read these allegations. Now,
these complaints prompted Justin's boss to call in two external
accountants to investigate his work on the company's finances, and
they allegedly discovered one hundred and fourteen unauthorized payments made
(04:14):
to Justin's bank account, which totaled four hundred and eighty
one thousand, four hundred and ninety dollars and thirty three cents.
So the company claims the payments began in late May
of this year and continued on until the sixth of October,
and were allegedly disguised as transactions to other businesses. So
on October fourteenth, Justin's boss, Matt Holmes, confronted him about
(04:37):
the transactions. In an Affidavid, he said, mister mckehan told
me that he had taken funds from Rocket to support
a very serious drug habit. Mister McKean admitted to theft
of company money. Mister mckehan told me that he would
do his best to return the money, but that he
did not have any of the money from the impugne
transactions in his bank account. Now. Following that meeting, Justin
(04:59):
was stood down when the incident was reported to Victorian police.
The company also successfully filed a freezing order against Justin
in late October Now, a freezing order is often put
in place to stop someone from disposing or hiding money
that is suspected of being proceeds of crime. It's important
to point out that at this stage the case is
(05:19):
still a civil case and not a criminal one. So
Rocker is seeking the repayment of the four hundred and
eighty one thousand dollars in any profits made from the
use of the money. They are also asking for damages,
compensation and costs, which is the cost of their legal fees,
which I'm assuming would be a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
This case is also being investigated by Victorian Police's Crime
Investigation Unit. Now this is an ongoing matter and charges
are yet to be laid. However, things could escalate very quickly.
So embezzlement is an extremely serious charge which can result
in up to ten years in prison. Justin is yet
to publicly comment on the incident, and he has since
(05:59):
shut down on his Instagram account, which he previously had
around ten thousand followers on. I think that would be
the instruction of his lawyer definitely, And this is the
second high profile influencer court case we've seen in the
past year. There's been so much interest recently, in Gracie
Piscoppoe's former partner Andre Rabello's case, he's been accused of
murdering his mum. This is something he has denied. But
(06:20):
this case is still in court and it has had
so much media attention. I think we're going to see
a similar media circus, especially if criminal charges are late.
I think one of the big differences is that Olivia Rodgers,
who is the person with prominence that's linked to this
case a bit like Gracie Piscoppo, wasn't actually involved with
Justin at the time, so she won't be appearing in court.
(06:41):
I presume the thing that worries me for Justin and
more so Olivia, is this court case is going to
bring about a lot more interest in them as a
couple and why they broke up. That is just how
the media works. Well, there's been a lot of chat
online about whether it's fair to actually drag Olivia into this,
considering she's not with Justin anymore. I mean, to me,
it's not surprising that she's been brought into it. She
(07:03):
does make this a more newsworthy story, and we've also
been sold as consumers this illusion of this extremely glamorous couple,
not just on social media. But we've got to remember
Justin and Olivia were a huge part of the social
scene in Melbourne. They've been in the paper a lot
of times and this news has really shattered the illusion.
And since marrying Olivia Rodgers and gaining a profile, he
(07:26):
actually has surrounded himself with a lot of influences and
well known public figures like Nick Russian. He's always seems
to be socializing with him. He was in the news
for dating a bunch of Bachelor contestants. Yeah, well he
was most recently dating former Bachelor contestant Tarny Leeson. Now,
she was also mentioned in the story and she started
dating Justin in September twenty twenty three, but they reportedly
(07:49):
split in June last year due to their values not aligning. However,
in June this year, So Dramatic reported that Tarney had
reunited with Justin attending an AFL matched together and at
the time she told So Dramatic that they were just friends. Well,
he's nowhere to be seen on her Instagram account. I
don't know whether Yeah, I don't know whether he was
scrubbed before or after. See you were talking about whether
(08:13):
it's fair to bring Olivia Rodgers into this story, but
you almost have to feel for him in a sense that, again,
he's not the one that had the profile. He was
just adjacent to someone with a profile. Like I'm guessing
he wishes that he never had this type of profile
now that this story is well, he's from Perth, and
all I think about is because Olivia would always share
their Christmas catch ups with his family, all looked very wholesome,
(08:35):
and I just think about that poor family who's having
to deal with this in the spotlight. It would just
be horrendous. The bottom line is this is really just
a sad case for everyone involved. The quotes that we
did hear referencing Justin's behavior, it's clear that he was
not in his right state of mind. He's struggling with addiction,
and it's really sad that this is going to play
out publicly for him.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
I've literally never spoken about this. I knew you guys
were going to expose it. I said this to the girls.
I was like, now everyone's gonna know. I have a tattoo.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
One Mile founder Sammy Robinson's secret tattoo has been outed
on the Happy Hour podcast The og Beauty vlogger was
forced to reveal she got inked at a Jagger and
Stone after party, with Tammy Hembro immediately copying her design. Sophie,
I don't think I could love this story anymore. I
want to say big props to Lucy Jackson and Nicki
Wescott for dragging this story out of her, because she
(09:27):
has been hiding it for a number of years. Now
it's clear she didn't actually want to tell this story.
I didn't actually realize that Sammy had been friends with
the Happy Hour host since the start of her YouTube days,
because Sammy first met Lucy through Princess Polly, and this
was when Lucy was working for Princess Polly as a
brand manager. I didn't even know that she worked at
(09:47):
Princess Pope. Yeah, well, it gives her a bit more
cred with Jagger and Stone. Obviously she's worked in the
industry before. It must be really weird for Lucy to
have also been on both sides of the influencer space.
And it was at this Jagger and Stone where the
infamous tattoo story happened. Yeah, and the girl said it
was very early days for the brand, so they didn't
have a huge budget for this launch, so they ended
(10:08):
up booking a nice lunch at the casino, and then
they didn't have money for an after party, so they
invited everyone back to Lucy and Nikki's hotel room and
to paint the picture. They said, it was a very
small room with two king single beds, and it's a
bit of a tradition to have a tattoo artist at
their Jagger party, so they arranged for her to come
up to the room and all of the guests could
(10:30):
pick whatever they wanted. Now by this point, everyone was obliterated,
and Sammy was supposed to be catching a flight home
that night, but instead canceled her flight and decided to
get a tattoo, which is not really part of Sammy's brand.
I was surprised to hear that she even had a
single tattoo. I don't think I've seen one on her body, no,
(10:51):
and I think her tattoo choice may shock some of
her OG followers. Here's what they said.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
And then Sammy Robinson liked the most you know, demure,
like chic, elevated girl in the entire group is like,
I know what I'm going to get. I'm going to
get you tell.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Well, I was, like I've always said, if I was
having to get a tattoo, I'd get like a jagger
off my spine, like something crazy. Obviously I wasn't going
to do that, and so there was I don't even
know if I want to say where it is, but
the one place you will say where it is. I
didn't want to put a cat where I got it.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Because yes, it is on her persse, but.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I'm like obsessed with tigers and cats and lions and things,
so that that was the only thing I could think of.
So I was like, what's something adjacent.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
In power and like beautiful?
Speaker 3 (11:46):
I was like, let me get a dragon, like no
reasoning behind it whatsoever. So now I'm just the girl
with the dragon tattoo.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
The girl with the dragon tattoo down there really small
as well, like everyone, it's not that small, babe. I
remember thinking, that's not the smallest dragon.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
I love that Nicky had to point out that it
actually wasn't that small. Yeah, I feel like it would
have been more iconic though, if Sammy had actually gotten
the cat on her vagina, like that would have been
so funny. As you said, Amy, not on brand for
her to get well, when I was listening to his interview,
I was really curious as to what the dragon actually
looked like, especially because Nicky said it was so big.
(12:28):
And thanks to Tammy Hembro, we have an insight into
what it actually looks like Sam because she decided to
randomly get the same one, So she got this dragon
tattoo designed on her hip. I just love that you
didn't even second guess it. You're like, yeah, I know
what I'm getting. I'm getting a dragon on my pussy.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
And then I think it was Tammy was like, what,
that's exactly what I want.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
If you want to visualize it. Tammy has the same one,
and now I haven't matching one with Timmy. I love
her so much, Like.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
But that's random.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yeah, and everyone else I think everyone got like a
red snake. Whe everyone was getting like matching snakes.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Oh that's the dag. I got this one.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
You got?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (13:07):
You all got that snake.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Tommy was like, I want the dragon.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
I was like, Tammy, No, that's actually a funny story
about Tammy. So we got a matching tattoo with me, Nicky,
m Dabies and Lily because we always used to say
live your best life. L YBL And this is at
another Jagger party, and Tammy, who had never said that
before in her life, just wanted to gym in on it,
so she also got that even though she wasn't even.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Like only one or it's not like it's sentimental, just like,
oh it looks cool whatever.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
I think that's an issue with getting tattoos at these
type of brand events because if you've seen them behind
the scenes of videos, it's like there's a piece of
paper and it's like pick one. Well, I just love
it because here's Sammy who's wanting to be a bit
edgy and unique, and Tammy's like, I'm going to get
that one too, like you've just been like, oh, fuck off.
And it's quite funny because it came out that Tammy
is quite known for jumping on the tattoo bandwagon. So
(14:02):
Lucy and Nikki revealed that at another Jacker and Stone party,
Tammy got a matching tattoo with their friendship group. So
this was before Lucy and Nicki had their big falling
out with Lily Brown, and they all got matching tattoos
with em Davies which said l YBL So that stands
for live your best life. This is despite Tammy not
(14:22):
being a part of the Friendship group or having any
affiliation with this term. Now she was like, I'm just
going to get it. I think we've always known that
Tammy Henbro doesn't put a lot of thought into her tattoo.
She got one for Matt Sakowski after dating him for
two weeks. I want to confirm though, for Sammy though,
that this is her first and only tattoo, because she
actually ended up having a freak out the next day
when she hopped in the shower, so the ink started
(14:44):
running and she thought that she had permanently smudged it.
So she rang Nicki in tears and Nicki was like,
its fine, baby, it'll wash off. The thing that was
quite interesting too, is she was actually dating nick at
the time, and she didn't know how to break the
news to him about the tattoo. She said she was
really nervous and embarrassed for some reason because she was
supposed to come home that night and she just randomly
(15:07):
when he got a tattoo on her vagina, she just
returns with this draguge dragon tattooed.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Well.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
She said that she just waited basically until they had sex.
To spring it on him and he ended up laughing
and telling her that she was so weird. It was
really refreshing to hear Sammy speak so candidly in an interview,
and I feel like I got this whole different perception
of her. I mean, she's always seemed really cool, but
she seemed a bit more edgy in this interview. Yeah,
and I think it helped that Lucy and Nicky are
(15:33):
friends with her because she felt more comfortable to sort
of tell some of these stories. Because she usually is
one of those influencers whose very well media trained, and
she seems to put up a bit of a guard,
particularly when questions turned to her past relationships. I think
she never really wants to be seen as being that
person who's weighing into the weeds, particularly when her brand
Won Mile is on the rise. She wants to be
(15:55):
taken seriously. And this is despite her ex boyfriend Jordan Simmy,
who we've discussed number of times on this podcast. He's
always tried in the past to drag her name into
the drama, but she's always stayed quiet on it and
I'm tooeful about it. Yeah, And this was until this
interview where I mean they didn't mention Jordan by name.
They referred to him as the boxer. It was quite
(16:16):
funny because Lucy said that she wanted to reach out
to Sammy at the time and ask if Jordan was
for real, but she was really worried that she was
going to offend her And Sammy said that there was
a lot of confusion around the boxing match because she
never actually publicly commented on it. She tried to distance
herself from it and not give it any oxygen because
she said she was always very private about her relationship
(16:37):
with Jordan, whereas he was ultra public about it. But
you could tell she was trying to still defend him
a little bit, because I think the tone that Lucy
and Nicki were using was kind of like what everyone
was thinking, who is this guy? Why is Sammy Robinson
giving him the time of day? But Shammy was trying
to reiterate he's very passionate about everything. It wasn't just
that he was obsessed with her. Yeah, Well, she tried
(16:58):
to explain the appear of the relationship with him, and
she said that she started dating him after her long
term relationship with nick and she was craving someone to
give her attention, and she said that he really taught
her about how she wants to be adored because she
lost that with Nick. Yeah, well, it was also a
COVID relationship, and I think a lot of people have
ended their COVID relationships now. Well. Lucy ended up saying
(17:22):
what we were all thinking and asked Sammy if Jordan
was a clout chaser, and Sammy basically said that she
didn't see any red flags early on because, as you said, Amy,
they got together during COVID, So I think they spent
six months in lockdown together and neither of them were
posting about like he never posted about her, she never
posted about him. Wouldn't think he'd have red flags if
you were stuck in isolation with Jordan Siemi. Well, I
(17:43):
suppose he wasn't acting erratically in the public space. He
was very chilled. I mean, she said that she's obsessive
in relationship and she attracts obsessive guys as well. We
even made sure to comment on this happy Hour reel.
So he ended up putting a gift of Ryan Gosling
from the notebook. So is he still trying to chase her?
I think he just likes attention. Yeah, I just happy.
(18:08):
I'm so excited. English actress and fashion designer Betsy Blue
English has accused Tammy Hembro of copying her wedding cake.
The allegations came after Vogue released a spread of the
Mega influencers wedding to Matt Szakowski. Now, Kate, before we
get into the drama. Who is Betsy Blue? That is
a good question because I kept seeing her name pop
(18:29):
up everywhere and it was like, Betsy Blue has said
this about Tammy Hembro. I'm like, who the hell is she?
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Now?
Speaker 1 (18:35):
She was touted as this UK actress and a fashion designer,
but she actually found fame on the UK X Factor
in twenty fourteen. So since then she's moved to LA
and I found an article saying that she's landed two
lead roles in new Netflix shows. I'm yet to know
what those Netflix shows are because there's not a lot
of information out there about it. So she is twenty
(18:55):
eight years old with one hundred and sixty five thousand
followers on Instagram and she owns her own fashion label
called Somebody Now. The brand's Instagram account advises that the
brand is actually pronounced with a French accent. Look, we're
not even going to go there because we get slammed
for a lot of words that we pronounce. So let's
move on. Yeah. So on Wednesday, just after the Vogue
(19:16):
spread dropped, Betsy re shared a photo of Tammy cutting
her wedding cake on her Instagram story and wrote, I
wish people would get their own imagination sometimes. So what
is the go with the wedding cake? Do they look
the same?
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Look?
Speaker 1 (19:29):
I think she has a point because Tammy's cake looks
almost identical to her. So both of them opted for
a white, eight foot taol tiered cake in a vintage theme,
which is quite ironic because Tammy only had one hundred
and twelve guests, Like, that is a lot of cake,
all of that amount of guests. All I can think
was how expensive was this cake? Or she had to
stand on a chair in order to be at the
(19:51):
top of the cake to cut it. It was such
a good photo opportunity now in this photo that I
was like, Wow, this really is the Tamming show is there?
And I think most people enjoyed seing the photo of
just Tammy with the cake in the spread. Yeah, and
this is the photo that has pissed Betsy off because
she has a very similar photo on her Instagram. Her
husband is actually in the photo, so she was also
(20:11):
standing on a very similar chair to Tammy cutting the cake.
Now where the argument falls down is this cake style
is very on trend, and it has been for quite
a few years. There's no way this was a new
idea from Betsy. That's the thing. Everyone copies each other,
Everyone looks at Pinterest on what is on trend. This
is clearly a trend for very rich people who can
(20:33):
afford that sort of cake is yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Look.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
I think perhaps this comes down to Betsy being a
little bit envious because she got married at the Ritz
in Paris in September this year, and her wedding looked
like it belonged in Vogue. Everything was curated perfectly, down
to a tee, her bridle looks were stumbling, the location
was picturesque, the theming was absolutely out of this world,
(20:56):
and despite nailing it, she didn't get a spread in
Vogue while Tammy did. I think it's a bit of
a stretch to say that Tammy copied this cake, particularly
because Betsy's wedding took place in September Tammy's was in November.
She would have had this concept for the cake locked
in well in advance. And this is something that we're
seeing on Pinterest at the moment, like it's not like
Betsy is the only person who's ever done this cake.
(21:17):
I love how funny people get about weddings because if
you think about it, even if Tammy did copy it,
it's quite a compliment because it's like, oh, she obviously
liked what she did.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
I saw it in Flina a post and they were
comparing photos of Betsy and Tammy's wedding and they were
pointing out other similarities. For example, Tammy's hair was very
similar to Betsy's. So I don't know whether it was
just the cake that then pushed her over the edge. Yeah,
but it was like Betsy wore an updo and Tammy
woren up to do. Like it's not out of this
world thing. And we've got to remember Tammy had a
team of prestigious wedding planners working for her. If anyone
(21:47):
copied it, it would have been them, because Tammy employed
the Nuptial Collective, who are known for doing high profile,
influence's weddings. I recently did Zara McDonald's mea plastic claims
that they did hers you don't mean claim well, I
don't know how much they would have been involved because
her wedding was definitely not at the level of some
of these others. A lot of different packages. I'm machining now.
(22:09):
To Betsy's credit, she has come out and apologized to
Tammy so on an update about this drama on so
Dramatics post, she commented, this was intended for close friends. Oops,
not my style to post publicly, so apologies to Tammy
for that. There's no drama here. She looks really beautiful,
and to be fair, I think everyone needs a big cake.
And she added the crying with laughter, shrugging and love
(22:30):
heart emoji after what is with all these people getting
stung with the close friends feature? She did follow up
on her own public Instagram story, writing, when you spend
an entire day thinking something was on your close friends
with an upside down smiley emoji. The worst thing about
social media is that in captions you can't always get
tone like I know, she said, I wish people would
get their own imagination. Sometimes it could have had a
(22:52):
bit of a joke yet, but I wish people would think, yeah,
but she's gone and used emojis to convey tone in
those messages, so I think the tone was quite clear.
I mean, you're not really going to put a red
face with the swearing that this was meant for close friends,
because it almost makes it same bitchy. It's narky. But
do we buy it because maybe she's just trying to
piggyback off this attention surrounding time's waiting. I don't buy
(23:14):
it because I think she just didn't like how it landed.
I think that she thought people would be quite sympathetic
to her and say that is outrageous that she copied
your cake, that was your idea, and then when it
didn't hit, I feel like it's like, sorry, that wasn't
intended for it. I gen'tinely think it was a mistake
because it's pretty off brand for her to post something
like yeah, all her posts are very polished. Now. As
we predicted, Tammy and Matt signed an exclusive deal with Vogue.
(23:38):
Alongside an interview with Tammy, Vogue shared sixty three photos
from the big day, and another part of the deal
was the announcement post. So interestingly, it was just Vogue
and Tammy, who collaborated on the official first wedding post.
Matt was not a collaborator or even tagged in the post.
His name was hashtag. I actually loved that from Vogue.
I think that that was the right move because they
(24:01):
want to align with Tammy Hembro. They don't necessarily want
to align with Matt, particularly as more stories are circulating
from his ex partner about him. Surely not a popular
move as a couple, because when you put up your
wedding post, and this is the first post they've actually
put up to say, hey, we got married, even though
the Daily Mail got the photos days ago, it's a
bit weird that he wasn't a part of My husband
(24:22):
wouldn't give a shit, Like he'd just be like, well,
look if you have this deal with Vogue, and that's
important too. I really don't mind about my own social
media account, yes, but Matt would like a lot of
people are saying he's a cloud chaser, and but if
you're not a cloud chaser, you wouldn't care. Well that
being said, the first post I saw Matt share on
TikTok about the wedding was just him dancing with his grip.
Yeah and then he followed up like, so he shared
(24:42):
a few behind the scenes of his morning with the groomsmen,
and then he said more content to come now, using
the word content. It's a strange way to talk about
your own wedding, like And I've noticed since that Tammy
has been sharing a lot of TikTok content and yes,
her job is a content creator. But it did give
me a little bit of an ick because I'm thinking
how much time was put into creating this content as
(25:04):
opposed to actually enjoying the wedding day. Yeah, but most
people do that now, like just normy people will spend
a lot of time. She would find it enjoyable as well.
I'm hoping that they actually had a professional person they're
doing it, because she popped up straight after the wedding
and it was a TikTok of her asking her followers
what should she wear to the wedding of the year
and just saying how excited she was that Tammy reached
(25:27):
out to her. I think y'all know who you mean.
She's actually got a really big following on TikTok herself,
and she got famous from posting stuff about her own wedding.
She's got a really unique voice. It's kind of like
I do this and it's perfect. Like her stuff is
absolutely beautiful. Another thing I noticed from the Vogue photos
was that Shannie Grimmond was a guest at the wedding.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I had no idea that they were friends. Yeah, so
that really surprised me because Tammy and Matt had spoken
about how they had really cut this list back, but
there were a lot of big names that I didn't
know were actually friends with her. People asking where was
Lucy and Nicki from the Happy Hour? Yeah, well that
was an interesting emission because of all the drama going
on with Tammy's ex Matt Paul and Nicky's husband Ollie Frost,
(26:10):
and also Lily Brown was that Yeah, But Tammy Hembro
didn't look like she was at Nicky's wedding either, So
it'd be interesting if they all go to m Davy's wedding.
I feel like for poor m Davies, that's where a
lot of shit's gonna hit the fan, and that's coming up.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Now. The same day that the Vogue spread dropped, Tammy's
ex fiance, Rhys Hawkins shared some new designs for his
clothing line Molten Now he posed in a very grungy
photo shoot in Bali, wearing shirts with slogans that said
if it has tits or wheels, you'll probably have a
problem with it. Another said gas lighting the narciss's favorite
(26:43):
tool of manipulation. But the slogan that attracted the most
attention was one that said bonds of matrimony and had
an image of a woman tied up and gagged. And
this was the feature photo of the photo dump, with
the caption total confusion. Now confusion was spelt wrong and
which confused a lot of people in our Facebook group.
(27:05):
I did love the commentary in our Facebook group because
people were saying if they saw anyone wearing one of
these t shirts, it would be a complete red flag.
There was also a lot of confusion because people took
from it that maybe he was upset that Tammy got married.
With the mention of matrimony, one person wrote, it's giving
absent father who hates women. I definitely think this was
aimed at Tammy because there was a photo in the
(27:26):
photo dump that was of a graffiti wall and it
said sad generation with happy pictures. Look. I more think
that because Tammy's name was in the mainstream media at
the time, and everyone was talking about her wedding. He
probably knew that people would be intrigued and go and
see what he was up to, and also Matt Paul.
So maybe he thought that this was a good time
to drop this range of clothes when there was interest,
but he totally missed the mark. Yeah, but the thing
(27:47):
is including the matrimony reference that's going to get daily
mail articles written about him. Oh, he's made a potshot
at Tammy. I don't think anyone who'd be interested in
Tammy and Matt's wedding would be purchasing those misogynistic T shirts.
I cannot believe it's already December third. There is a
special vibe in the Outspoken office at the moment. Amy,
you have this delicious candle going in this most time,
(28:09):
it sounds exactly like a freshly cut Christmas tree. I
am going to go buy one of them. They're amazing.
There's also presents on the table behind you that probably
should be wrapped. None of them are for us. I've
brought so many presents in the sales, and then I
remembered I forgot to get wrapping paper. Was definitely our
favorite time of the year, and we wanted to celebrate
by dropping a special Christmas series. But there's a bit
of a twist because we are interviewing some of Australia's
(28:33):
biggest influencers about their Christmas traditions but also just about
their life generally. And I think you said last week, Kate,
you were quite surprised that some of the influencers agreed
to be on the show because they are people that
we regularly discuss on the show. And our first guest
is Indy Clinton, Like, I am ecstatic to have her
(28:53):
on the show. It's funny because I was the one
that suggested reaching out to India about the Christmas episode,
and Amy was like, I don't even bother. There's no
way she's gonna respond, she replied instantly. And she didn't
shy away from answering any questions either, because we said,
if we're going to have influences on the show, we
want to ask them the questions that we're all wanting
to know. And I love some of the responses that
(29:16):
she gave. It was so interesting and gave such an
insight into what was going on during some of those
big moments that we've been speaking about over this year
in the past couple of years. Well, this is a
little taste of what you can expect.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Singing an influencer like post shit you just like shut
the herr and I get it. I think the same
all the time. That for me was a turning point
because I was like, holy shit, people really do just
make things up? Really?
Speaker 1 (29:46):
May she seemingly copied your baby name?
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Band?
Speaker 1 (29:50):
Do you think she did see?
Speaker 2 (29:51):
I keep questioning myself because I'm like, she doesn't know
I exist. But I'm also like, what are the chances
I knew if I just found a I ran in
small business on Etsy that could make these beautiful little
Santa sex, they were not going to know who I am.
And then I get a message bag, Oh my god, Indy,
I'm a huge fan. I can't believe the places all.
I promise I'm going to keep this name a secret.
(30:12):
I remember seeing things being like I know Indy Clinton's
baby's name. I've been in this game for eleven years,
and from every management I've had, I've always been taught
not to you know, it will just blow over. Never
talk on anything ever ever. Just be quiet, be quiet.
I'm like, why do I have to be quiet for once.
I've been quiet my whole life on everything. Why do
I have to be quiet about this now?
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Just to be really clear, because we don't want any confusion,
we are bringing out fresh content for our listeners throughout
December and January. There is a little bit of a
change in our programming though, so on Tuesdays we will
have our regular episode every Tuesday. However, on Thursday, our
episode's going to look a bit different. They will be
our interviews with influences, and then on Friday We're going
(30:54):
to have brand new subs episodes. I'm so excited for
these episodes to drop. I think that you will love them.
That is all we have time for today, though. Thank
you so much for joining us for another episode. If
you have enjoyed it, could you please please please leave
us a positive review and also make sure you are
subscribed on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Yeah, we really need
some positive reviews at the moment because it's over the
(31:16):
Sarah's Days stands and Polates. Fans weren't too happy with
our last episode. It's a really wild side of TikTok
that I've not been across before. Like my goodness me.
But yes, that is all we have time for. Thank
you so much for joining us. This episode was recorded
on the traditional land of the Ghana people of the
Adelaide Planes. We pay respect to elders past and present.
