(00:00):
Welcome to the Jonathan and Kelly Show. Jonathan Rush. Last week, Crooked
Shoe signed an executive order that ispro invasion, pro child trafficking, pro
woman trafficking, pro human trafficking, and pro drug dealers. Kelly Nash,
it's weak, it's ineffective, it'sboth what he signed. Jonathan and Kelly
(00:29):
Show. Oh hello Kelly Nash.Happy Saturday to you. Jonathan. It
seems like every week now, forlike eight years, it's been another week
bigger than the previous week of highstakes, hyperbaly, hypocrisy, not a
high, So I actually feel alittle high a lot of all this stuff
(00:49):
that's going We got a lot ofground to cover here in only one hour.
We will be covering several things here, in particular for the state and
the way that they spend money withthis new agency created by dissolving d Heck
and then creating two new agencies.Look, if you thought that the bureaucrats
couldn't figure out new ways to wasteyour money, you'd be wrong. You
(01:10):
got a way to the end ofthe show for the payoff on that one.
Obviously, Number three is gonna befilled with all kinds of craziness out
of Washington with swamp talk. Wedid have a huge primary week and unbelievable
surprise to me anyway, it wasa record breaking primary week. It was
a record break, not a pridefulone for a state that prides itself on
pride. We get to kick itoff this week with a conversation we had
(01:34):
on Thursday, immediately after the insurrectionistreturned to Washington, d C. Yes,
Donald J. Trump addressed some GOPcongress folk and one of them that
was in the room called us literallylike the second it ended. So we
talked with our congressman Joe Wilson tobe with Jonathan Kelly and Donald Tump on
(01:55):
the same morning. I'm doing good. Well, I understand that you've been
in the meeting today. Everybody's talkingabout a lot of protesters showed up.
Well, as I came in,I was showed it at by different people.
And then I did what Jonathan andKelly want me to do. I
turned around and actually pulled up mypants leg to reveal that I have Donald
Trump's socks on beautiful, the onewith the hair Kelly who says that you're
(02:19):
not intelligent, those are the stockand actually the protesters burked out laughing when
they saw the stocks. Okay, that's good, but that was the last
laughter we got. And then asI was coming back and walking, I'm
here at Education Workforce for a committeemeeting, and I've got an amendment about
recognizing the Holocaust. But I'm hereand this lady was harassing me all the
(02:42):
way back from the Capitol Hill Clubabout America. First, done that mean
infrastructure over aid to Israel? AndI said, well, actually, it's
freedom, and we need to havefreedom around the world. And I thought
to myself, what's the point ofhaving good roads if you're not free.
I wanted to ask you, inparticular about the one person the guys in
the room today, now, ishe in fact handing out the new agenda
(03:04):
on his attack on democracy? Well, actually, the key thing that I
caught from Donald Trump's appearance before theRepublican conference at the Capitol Hill Club today
his message for the campaign, He'ssaying border, border in place, and
inflation implation. And I just gaveyou a direct quote the presentation today.
Additionally, he expressed outrage about theRussian ships off the coast of Florida,
(03:30):
the nuclear ships going to Cuba,an affront, that is to the American
people. When we saw the newsabout the eight isis K members that were
arrested, thankfully by the FBI andother law enforcement agencies. One of the
things that is most infuriating to meabout reading that story is hearing once they
crossed the border, how they're eightyby the nngos, the non governmental agencies,
(03:52):
and we know that the Biden administrationhand picks those agencies. This is
such a charade, whether it benon governmental oration. And then President Trump
went through so many different issues. He pointed out the Inflation Reduction Act that
had nothing to do with inflation.Over and over again. President Trump was
actually telling the truth. And thenhey, I thought, of y'all,
he really got carried away. Atone time. It was just outrageous.
(04:15):
He said, we're run by fools, and I thought, my god,
Johnathan and Kelly must have been tryingto give him a message. And then
also there was some good too thata corrupt judge merchon over and over again.
It was the President indicated that he'sbeen indicted back to the White House.
It's backfired. And in fact,he pointed out that now the largest
(04:38):
fundraisings in the history of the world. Due to corrupt Judge Marchon, four
hundred and seventeen million dollars has beenraised by the Trump campaign. The average
contribution is seventy one dollars. TheAmerican people are voting with their checkbooks,
their pocketbooks. It's been a rippleeffect. The Republican campaign committees for the
House Senate RNC Trirman Watley was there, all are having record contributions from the
(05:01):
American people who are revolted by thecorruption of our judicial system. We've got
the Congressman Joe Wilson on the phonewith us, and you made national headlines.
I guess it was a couple ofweeks ago, right after the indictment
of or excuse me, the convictionof Donald Trump, when you sent a
personal invitation the Judge Mershon to beyour guest at his inauguration in twenty twenty
(05:25):
five. Have you ever heard backfrom the judge on that. No.
I'm really grateful that I had someway, very trustworthy call. The Attorney General
of South Carolina, Alan Wilson, delivered the invitation as he was there in
New York to the bailiff. Itwas an invitation to judge Merchant that unintentionally,
the corrupt judge has truly revealed thelevel of corruption. And the American
(05:46):
people are responding, and they're responding, as we see in the polls that
what they thought would be negative toDonald Trump has not been. But again,
the racing of four hundred and seventymillion dollars the largest fundraising event in
the history of the world. Itreally is an amazing time to be alive.
Did Donald Trump say anything in thatmeeting that you didn't know previously?
(06:08):
Yes, And again every time I'min his presence, I'm impressed by his
command of the issues, his concernabout the missiles of the Putin regime being
now on the ships visiting Cuba, the danger to all of us. And
then another point that he brought upthat again talk radio has done so good,
(06:30):
and that is he pointed out thatthere's seventeen to eighteen million people who
have entered our country. Actually they'revacating around the world, beginning in Venezuela,
all prisons and so all prisoners. It's cheaper to send them to the
United States than it is to maintainthem at home. And this is not
just Venezuela and maybe two dozen countrieshave vacated their prisons and are sending them
(06:54):
to the United States. And theconsequence we see with the rising crime,
and we see this by the destructionof jobs for American citizens. The most
recent job figures that came out ata reduction in jobs held by American citizens
and an increased substantially several hundred thousandof jobs being held by illegal aliens.
(07:14):
And so this has got to beaddressed. And the only way we know
is to elect Donald Trump president thisyear. MSNBCCNN and your other favorite news
channels are just befuddled over the factthat the American people apparently have been hoodwinked
by you and DJT and others, and now you have a majority of Americans
who want to see a mass deportation. Thank you for bringing that up,
(07:35):
because again something I I'm so gladI had heard it one time. But
actually President Trump explained, in fact, the last deportation was done by somebody
that actually even Democrats like now iscalled Dwight D. Eisenhower. And so
he deported illegal aliens. And soin the tradition of Eisenhower, in the
(07:57):
tradition of common sense, good God, all of US are at touch risk,
Johnson and Kelly, of attacks everymoment. And three years ago when
I went to the border and askedhow many people across on the terrorists watch
list, and they told me thatthey were not allowed to tell me,
and that now we know hundreds onthe terrorists watch list A crossed And of
(08:18):
course, and y'all have been reallycorrect and pointing this out. Why would
the Democrats be this they're responsible?Well, they are because Elon Musk has
said they're importing Democrat voters who willcreate a one permanent, one party state,
to create a deep socialist state. That is the intent of open borders.
But in the meantime that means thatthey would reduce our judicial system into
(08:43):
persecution instead of prosecution, and itwould put all of us at risk of
attacks by criminals, criminal gangs. And hey, and I think about sadly
human trafficking, young girls being traffickednow freely from around the world into the
(09:03):
United States, and we have apresident that is still focused on importing new
voters that they don't understand and thehundreds of thousands of people who've died to
it a fentanyl being provided by theChinese Communist Party, the invasion of our
country, and over and over again. The way to address is good people,
Democrats and Republicans. And if DonaldTrump can be persecuted, every American
(09:28):
can be persecuted, even Democrats. We're talking with the Congressman Joe Wilson.
One of the things that Biden Presidentsaid recently in his declaration or an executive
order action was that we have apps. We're trying to reduce human smuggling.
We're trying to reduce the toll oftragedy on human beings trying to cross the
(09:52):
southern border. And the way we'redoing it is we want people to legally
from their home country. Do thejust go to a download our app and
upload your information there and if you'reapproved, well, then we'll take care
of your transportation to get you intoAmerica. Which makes it seem to me
as if you referenced Venezuela earlier, the Venezuelan government would be wise to just
(10:16):
have the entire prison fill out anapplication on an app and then the United
States will transport the prison here.Again, Kelly, you're ahead of the
curb. They've already done that.Oh, at the entire prison population of
Venezuela. Hey, the crime rateand Venezuela you should be happy to know,
has collapsed. And it's just nonexistencebecause the criminals have been moved to
(10:37):
the United States. Hey, andthey conceal it. Remember the police officers
were attacked in Times Square, andI asked my staff to look up about
the illegal aliens attacking the police officers, and we couldn't find it because it
was under another category called venezuelans andnot illegal aliens. And then they dropped
those charges. On the very daythey dropped charges against people who attack police
(10:58):
officers in Square is a very daythe corrupt judge Merchant provided a gag order
on the leading candidate for president ofthe United States. I feel like I'm
describing a third world country that isinconceivable. But that's what they're doing in
New York City. And that's whyit's so important for talk radio to get
the message out, because you hitit on the head. I was really
(11:20):
grateful to be in France at Normandyto the eightieth anniversary of the liberation,
but I was forced to watch anetwork called CNN. Every program was an
attack on Tim Scott and Byron Donald. African Americans who had independent thought process.
How outrageous it was that African Americanscould be allowed to think. I
still don't understand how the Republicans couldturn down all the brilliancy rolling out of
(11:41):
the Biden administration having to do withhis executive order that was avenutely leaned on
after you guys wouldn't go along withthe border bill. I've said over and
over again that we don't need newlaws. We need to enforce the laws
we had, Donald Trump enforce thelaws we had, and then they came
up with this charade of a bill, a charade of active order, confirming
(12:01):
what I had been saying all thetime, that we don't need new laws,
we need to enforce the laws wehave. We have good laws,
and under Donald Trumps they were beingenforced. But we now have selective laws.
And the selection is persecution of personswho disagree with the extremists of the
Democratic Party who've seed control of theDemocratic Party, and Democrats need to know
(12:22):
that their party has been subverted bythe far left, people who are against
Israel, people who are against freedomand democracy around the world, and it's
sadly clearer every day, and bottomline, I'm optimistic, and we see
with the record fundraising of the RepublicanParty at all levels in response to what
(12:43):
occurred. And hey, I wantto finish one thing. I'm very grateful
for the vote I received tuesday inthe Republican primary. I'm very humble about
that. I don't take it forgranted. And I'm just very grateful to
represent the people of South Carolina.Congressman, I'll ask you this. Maybe
this is an awkward moment. Wesaw the awkward moment on the House floor
when Nancy Mace kind of came upto you and not exactly sure what she
(13:07):
said. Uh, it was shortlyafter you had had not announced your endorsement
of her opponent. How are youtwo getting along now? Actually, our
conversation was friendly. I was encouragingher to join the Republican Study Committee,
which is the largest conservative focus, and she explained to me again that she
is a party of one. Okay, I disagree with being a party of
one. I think we do betteras a team, and so we will
(13:30):
continue to agree to disagree. Senator, excuse me, Congressman Joe Joe Wilson,
she described on the army, shewent to the citadel. Yeah,
hey, no, No, Hey, y'all are so good. Just call
me any name anyway, make sureit's the right Joe. Hey. The
only question, the only point whenI said, when it says Joe means,
it means Joe Wilson, not somebodyelse. That's right, Keep doing
(13:54):
good. We can expand on someof those things coming up in Swamp Talk
in segment three, but coming upnext was a huge primary week for South
Carolina, bigger than bigger moments forsome than others. I guess that's typical
with the season for politics. We'llget into that next. The Jonathan and
Kelly Show, Jonathan Rush and Ijust got to say to the voters out
(14:16):
there, you know you can getwhat you paid for if you don't vote.
Don't blame the state House, KellyNash not to denigrate Russell. The
Jonathan and Kelly Show. And withthat, Dick Carputlian is out. Is
that do we put a lid onhim? Is that? Don or No?
You will not put a lid onDick Carputlin. He will be speaking
as Dick Carputlian, the private citizen, which I think could even be a
(14:37):
little more brash than the elected politician. You know, not to what did
he say? Again, Not todenigrate or insult russ Ott, but you
know you people got what you paidfor here what you paid for Again.
The man who said I don't wantto buy the black vote, I just
want to rent it for a daysounds like he couldn't afford the rent this
year. I got to tell yousomething, though, I'm going to miss
(14:58):
Dick carp the one thing I've alwayssaluted Dick. If you want to know
what Dick Carpoutli is thinking, askhim. He'll tell you you. Look
at how close it was twenty fourfourteen to twenty two ninety four. I
mean, he lost by just overone hundred volts. And I think he's
right. He may have lost justbecause of hometown pride in Calhoun, because
they have not had a sitting Ithink a state senator. Was it not
Mayon Gresha was a senator. Theyhaven't had a hometown senator representative for that
(15:24):
entire district from Calhoun in a longtime. He said nineteen eighty four was
the end of that era. Soagain I mentioned twenty four fourteen to twenty
two ninety four. There's four thy, seven hundred and eight votes total.
In South Carolina Senate District twenty sixthat took place, That's not even twelve
percent of the votes. There's veryfew people who came out, and that's
(15:46):
across the board. We were averagingless than twelve percent in each district.
One of the most pitiful turnouts inSouth Carolina history. Because some people may
say, well, you know something, Dick Carpolini just didn't inspire people to
get out and get off their sofaand come vote. State Wide, that
district showed up about on average withthe rest of the counties. I don't
know if it's just what is it? Is there like a sense of morales
(16:08):
is guys, the moroses has comeover South Carolina. I tell you this,
if you run into a special electionand a runoff coming up on the
twenty fifth, like Katrina Sheiley, you're really going to be out knocking on
doors because if you think the voterturnout was low for the primary on the
eleventh, way, do you seethe numbers on the twenty fifth. Speaking
of Katrina, because she does have, as you pointed out, such a
great ground game going in a lotof support with that and the fact that
(16:32):
she is a conservative. Outside ofthat one vote that we were talking about
with the abortion heartbeat bill, becausewhen you look at the state wide,
the Freedom Caucus picked up a goodmemory, surprising a lot of people.
Yeah. Absolutely, I think mostpolitical watchers had assumed that the Freedom Caucus
would be beaten in most of theirprimaries, including the incumbents, and instead
(16:53):
most of the incumbents hung on andthey picked up some they knocked off some
traditional republic So big night for theFreedom Caucus, and that just shows you.
I think that the conservatives of thestate are ticked off. I mentioned
Katrina Shearly having a great ground game, but I don't know how to compare
that to say Sandy sin because ifyou look at the sister senators, you
got two of the three sister senators. As we celebrated them at the what
(17:18):
was it the JFK Lifetime Achievement Awards, I think it was a profiles encouraged.
That's because they were courageous. Andagain the two Democrats, I don't
know why they're being saluted for courageto vote for what more? Abortion?
Isn't that kind of what you're supposedto do as a Democrat. Now you'll
be they gat the war because theybrought in three Republicans. It could be,
but the three Republicans, two ofthe three have already been defeated,
(17:41):
and the third is definitely on therope. Don't be concerning Kelly, because
all the five sister senators get tokeep that suitable for framing. I'm sure
if it didn't come framed already fromthe Kennedy Center, the picture of them
receiving their awards in Boston at theKennedy Center. I remember, I don't
know which one of the three saidthat because their opponent was making fun of
(18:03):
them for winning that award and goingup there and having a big night.
And one of them said that whoeverthat guy was, would have been proud
to receive it. And I waslike, I wouldn't be so quick with
that, because I know for afact, like Jonathan Rush, Jonathan Rush
would respectfully decline that award. Iwould not decline it. I would.
I would pay you for the negativesto make sure that that photo never actually
(18:26):
got out if you could get meinside to receive it. I don't even
sing it along with Sweet Caroline atthe baseball games anymore, cut it out
with a Kennedy worship. I wasnever a worshiper at the Kennedy Altar.
Hold on a second, speaking toKennedy's we might have to get into a
little RFK talk coming up in asecond on swamp talk. Oh and don't
forget if you want to know howyour money's being spent wisely in the state
(18:48):
of South Carolina. Segment four isgoing to be the icing on the cake
the Jonathan and Kelly Show. JonathanRush instead of trying to stop our band
on ghost gun kitsch that contained thesecommit crimes, their work alike held us
to stop it. Kelly nash OrAt the University of Pennsylvania. Before that,
I taught a conscial law class, and so I taught to the Second
(19:12):
Amendment. There's never been a timethat says you can own anything you want,
and never you couldn't own a cannonduring the Civil Wars. Jonathan and
Kelly show, you know a coupleof times today I'm going to have given
the benefit of the doubt just towatch Kelly's eyes roll. But I think
it was just jet lag. Youknow, when you get over there and
you're making an important speech and it'san international stage and you start just stuttering
(19:34):
and stammering, and how about whenhe does it in the Rose Garden,
Joe Biden, not exactly. Idon't I could be wrong in this,
not exactly showing the strength that weneed in this particular situation, other than
the fact that he's carry us abig chet book. Walk softly or in
this case, walk carefully and carrya big chet book. Is that the
slogan for the Biden administration. Well, again, if you're trillions in debt,
(19:57):
which the United States is, howdo you have checkbook? You have
no money. We're broke. Weare the brokest nation on earth. It
take a credit card and to banka name but Bank of China. Yeah,
that's one of the most unpatriotic thingsyou can do. According to Barack
Obama's oh the national debt, It'sbeen another miserable week, and it's only
going to get worse with the outrage, particularly with some of the Supreme Court
(20:17):
rulings that are coming down that wecan get into in a few minutes.
I did think that Joe, aswe know, likes to make sure that
it's an orderly fashion, and evenso much so that one of the reporters
asked a question the other day,he wasn't supposed to. I couldn't believe
that Biden called him out like that. I wish you'd got fellows with follow
the rules here. We're here totalk about our support for the Ukraine.
Let's not get into political talks aboutGaza. Friday morning, I watched a
(20:42):
CNN special where they absolutely shredded JoeBiden on CNN and talked about how he
has been the least approachable president inmodern history. They can't they they're going
back to LBJ to find somebody notas approachable as Joe Biden. And they
were saying that, I guess thetypes we're not. I mean, we're
(21:03):
in the media, but we're notin the press corps, so we don't
know about these things. This wascalled a two and two. That's the
way they set these things up toquestions two reporters. That's it, okay,
And the woman on CNN was saying, how everybody knows that at a
two and two there's going to beat least one follow up question, so
(21:23):
it's going to become a three andtwo, and then there's going to be
probably somebody who blurts out a questionthat is worthy of answering, so it
might become a three and three andso on and so forth. She says,
we've never seen anyone respond as hostilyas Joe Biden, and for him
to say, follow the rules, sir, there are no rules. It's
a press conference. We ask youquestions, you answer them. And Joe
(21:45):
Biden is failing at answering questions. She didn't say he was failing as a
policy leader, which he is,but he's failing it just the just the
ability to answer questions. Joe Bidenfails that. According to what we used
to call the News network, hesucks hard. And you know they're thinking
of themselves, especially after the insurrectionistsreturn to Washington on Thursday. We'll talk
(22:11):
more about that, and we discussedsome of it with Joe Wilson earlier.
But don't you know that they wishthey had booked the DNC Democrat National Convention
to be like in Detroit, tohelp him out with this Michigan vote,
which is why they won't talk aboutGAZA because they're already losing numbers in Michigan.
But unfortunately they have it in Milwaukee. And I don't know exactly I
know what's been reported that the mansaid, but Donald Trump's disparaging comment about
(22:36):
the city of Milwaukee was the mostexciting thing I have. This is the
biggest news item. I have neverseen Mika respond this way. They play
back the entire TV theme for Laverneand Shirley. They give us about twenty
moments in history and are huge forthe city of Milwaukee. I get it.
I'm all about city pride. I'mproud for you. But Mika literally
(22:57):
was rubbing her nearly like she wasgoing to create friction, to start a
fire, just chop it at thebit to get into this because, oh
thank goodness, Wisconsin was a battlegroundstate, but we can win it now
that Trump has made a disparage incomment against Milwaukee, and they alleged Trump
said behind closed doors where we're havingour convention sucks. He's saying I never
(23:21):
said it. It's put it upthere with they're all suckers and losers.
Anybody who sacrificed for the military andput it up there with I said,
everybody who started the problems in Charlottesvilleis great again. They love to just
make up bull crap about Donald Trump, which is why you got the whole
crowd chantingsbsbs, because that's what democratsdo. Think about how sad it must
be to be a Democrat. Pleasetell me, do you have something more
(23:45):
than Donald Trump behind closed doors saidMilwaukee sucks. Please tell me panned your
hopes. Yeah, but you havea transcript from a Truemve speech to Republican
Yeah, as the insurrectionist was puttingthe band back together. But how about
this, how about I'm sure oneof the congressmen was filming that with their
(24:08):
phone. They probably shouldn't have been, but they probably were. I'm sure.
How about we will give you anexchange. We will give you the
video of what Donald Trump said behindclosed doors. If you give us what
Joe Biden said behind closed doors, you want to be held in contempt of
Congress again, or you want togive us that tape Mary Garland, who,
(24:29):
by the way, is showing youhow even handed the DOJ is with
their conviction of Hunter Biden. There'sno two tier system of the DOJ.
I believe Hunter has become a sacrificiallamb. Okay, I think that Joe
Biden says, send him to prisonso I can look tough on cod But
Mary Garland is not going to comeanswer any more of your questions or turnover
(24:49):
audio that was generated using the taxpayer'sdollar in an investigation for Joe Biden handling
top secret skiff only in from goingback for the past fifty years, just
so you can determine his mental state. How about this part, we'll just
have him. Does he know whenhe was the vice president? According to
(25:11):
the transcript, he doesn't. Andyou're upset that, according to the transcript,
Joe Biden didn't know what years hewas the vice president. Now you're
saying that that's not right, andwe're asking can we see the video?
Can we hear the audio? Andyou're saying, no, you can't hear
it either. Just trust us.Her lied about Robert Hurt lied about it.
Why would the guy lie about somethinglike that anyway? There's literally no
(25:36):
gain for him in this. Oneof the other things that most reported plainly
obvious is that Donald Trump, althoughhe hasn't announced and well not announced now,
they say until the RNC convention comingup in Milwaukee, who his VP
choice will be. They say hethrew out some heavy clues the other day.
Well, the clues, according tothe ones that I were reading,
said that it's going to be jEvans. They say that Tim Scott and
(26:02):
some of the other ones that arekind of being quietly moved aside. But
you know what, that's all speculative. Who knows what's going on, And
to be honest with you, whoeverthe VP is or isn't doesn't really matter.
This is really all about Trump rightnow. This is not like the
Joe Biden situation where Kamala Harris wassupposed to try to help him get votes
(26:22):
because she's a black female. Soone of the theories that I'm hearing banti
developed by the big talkers, thebig thinkers, particularly those that are conservative,
is that I'm totally wrong that MichelleObama, who I agree should I'm
on the job. Do you believenow that they got to keep Joe upright,
walking and breathing through the November electionand then either because old man time's
(26:45):
going to catch up with him,or he will bow out gracefully with some
kind of deal to make sure thatHunter is commuted to pardoned, that Kamala
Harris would take over because she's asgood a puppet as he is. No,
I don't believe it. I kindof leaned towards that back in twenty
twenty. But I think, ifanything, they will figure out a way
to get Kamala out. That's goingto be a tough one. I know
(27:07):
it's a tough sell, but they'llhave to figure out something. I don't
know that. I don't think thathappens before the election. I think it
happens after if they were able topull off a miracle and win. I'm
looking when I say a miracle, this is what I mean by a miracle.
When I'm looking at the polls rightnow. For twenty sixteen, Donald
Trump had no chance. I shouldn'tsay that. According to the five thirty
(27:30):
eight polls combined on election day,Hillary Clinton seventy one point four percent to
Donald Trump twenty eight point six percent. If you look through the summer,
if you look at where we're at, like right about now, like beginning
of July, it was Clinton witha seventy eight to twenty two percent lead.
Donald Trump always polls horribly against Democratsbecause people are embarrassed to say,
(27:56):
therefore, that orange guy who screamsobscenities. They don't want to admit it.
So he's never pulled. He neverwas beating really at any point Joe
Biden in the twenty twenty campaign,he is absolutely crushing him. On Friday,
they have a new poll come outfrom Emerson and Donald Trump is I
mean, even if you just comparehim to the twenty twenty poles, he's
(28:18):
up like fifteen percent compared to wherehe was in twenty twenty at this point.
If he's up that much now andthink about this, is there anything
Donald Trump could say or do rightnow that would shock anybody. Everybody knows
who Donald Trump is. So ifyou're pulling for him now, Donald Trump
can be accused of rape, murder, and anything else you want to throw
(28:41):
at him between now and November,it doesn't move a vote. Oh you
look at the way that Democrats alreadysaid. They constantly came out, even
Joe Biden came out said he wasa convicted rapist. Did I miss that
article in the newspaper. You hearconstantly that it's not just Donald Trump who's
constantly trashing America, but his supporters. This is why they show up in
droves. They love to see DonaldTrump stand there and give America the finger.
(29:04):
It's got to be so frustrating forthe mainstream media. Because they have
spent basically since twenty fifteen. We'rein year nine of them trying to denigrate
Donald Trump, and over that courseof time, Donald Trump has gotten more
and more popular. So they tellyou that Donald Trump is an idiot,
and he gets more votes. Thenthey tell you that Donald Trump is a
(29:26):
racist, and he gets more votes, and then they tell you that he
hates his country, and he getsmore votes. And it just keeps going
up. And Donald Trump is thefirst president I believe. I have to
check on this, but I believeeven Reagan didn't go up between eighty one
or eighty and eighty four. DonaldTrump is skyrocketed between the two terms.
(29:48):
Look at Obama. Obama lost likeeight nine million votes between his first election
and his second election. Trump keepsgoing up, and he's going to go
up again this time. He gotwhat seventy million last time, He'll go
to seventy five or more this time. You know, as you see them
constantly trot out the different narratives, desperately slinging spaghetti to the wall hoping something
(30:08):
will stick, and even getting soexcited over a small piece of pasta,
like the Milwaukee story that Mika's rubbingher hands and anticipation of being able to
just bring the story to the Americapeople and expose Trump for the authoritarian that
he is as well. They weretotally shocked by the number of people the
(30:29):
citizens polled in America who are absolutelyfour And we talked about this briefly with
Joe Wilson, the deportation of illegalimmigrants while at the same time telling you
crime is down and pointing out thatDonald Trump will put journalists like Rachel Maddow
in prison. There is literally nothingin what they claim to be the rise
of the fourth Conservative Reich trying tomake this guy out to be Hitler.
(30:52):
There's literally nothing off the table asto what they won't put on the headline
news. And by the way, just so I do correct myself, Reagan
went up nine million votes between eightyand eighty four. Yeah, I mean
again, they want to destroy DonaldTrump. They are infuriated that you people
keep choosing him. And it's notjust you people, it's more and more
(31:14):
people continue to look at this atthe situation they nobody. I haven't seen
a poll on this one lately, but right after Donald Trump was convicted,
there was like four it was likeforty eight percent of Americans believed that it
was a real conviction and a realcrime. Fifty two percent did not.
Then it went to like sixty percentdidn't think it was a real crime.
(31:36):
I imagine by now we're like eightypercent of Americans recognized that that was a
total bs sham of a trial.Well, they've gotten so desperate now that
remember Hillary Clinton's famous re education camps. Strangely enough, she would use that
term, which is talking about anauthoritarian who supposedly Hitler, but we did
see someone running against at least Stefonica Democrat tote that one back out to
(31:56):
the television this weekend. They don'tknow what to do. I mean,
what else can you say about DonaldTrump? I mean, think about what
they used to do against Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney. They literally were talking
about him pushing your grandmother over acliff, and so I mean, if
they're going to do that against MittRomney, Donald Trump is a much bigger
target in the sense that he's gota coarse mouth and he's very flippant with
(32:20):
his language and his attitude. Soof course it makes sense to go after
him in that way. But afternine years of it not working, it's
time to change the plan. IfI was a Democrat, I'd be trying
to think of something else. Well, they could always go back to bidnomics.
Especially this week's inflation number coming up, and you saw how much the
hourly growth rose compared to the inflationfigures we talked about. That was it
(32:44):
on Wednesday when it first came outon the podcast. You can go back
and look at that or listen tothat. But basically, again, if
you didn't follow the way inflation trendshave gone, we're never going to catch
up to what happened in twenty twentytwo. So twenty twenty two was off
the chart. So yeah, Mayof twenty twenty one to May of twenty
twenty two, prices went up eightand a half percent. Then from twenty
(33:05):
two to twenty three it went uplike another four percent, and now we're
slowing down and we're only up anotherthree and a half percent. So you're
up over twelve percent here in justthree years. So unless you've made a
twelve percent increase, you've lost moneyon this deal. Bidenomics is literally gutting
the middle class. And you don'tneed to be an economics major to understand
(33:28):
that you just need to look atyour own checkbook. And if you don't
want to look at your own checkbook, take a look at the rate of
savings in America, look at creditcard debt and how that's taking off.
There's just so many things that aregoing on around the country that everybody knows.
We're living in much tougher times nowthan we were in twenty twenty.
Guess what, it's not working. It's a good thing. We got plenty
(33:52):
of surplus money, as we've beentalking about over the past couple of weeks
over to South Carolina General Assembly, because we're gonna have to spend some We
are spending some. Yeah, andit's not even the General Assembly that's spending
it this time. That's what's reallyticking us off. It's the bureaucrats at
an agency next the Jonathan and KellyShow. Jonathan Rush Now, when I
address the press from the White Housepodium, the only thing that stands between
(34:15):
me and getting our message out tothe American public is whether the people sitting
in those chairs and the folks watchingat home feel like they can trust me.
Kelly Nash's many things that made mecredibly proud to be at that podium
during this historic moment. Again, this is a historic administration. I'm a
historic figure the Jonathan and Kelly ShowWOC. Well, there's been a lot
(34:40):
of talk about d HECK this weekin particular, and we'll have to park
the old phrase what d heck isgoing on at d HECK as we have
one agency split into two and withthat, as you might imagine, comes
some new letterhead. You'll be readingmore and more about how the South Carolina
Department of environ Mental Services what itcontrols as opposed to the health side,
(35:05):
which is where we really get somegreat help here from a Columbia ad agency
that is nationally renowned. Turn OffNewman is helping out with the efforts for
the new logo, in particular, not really helping out at all. Thanks
guys. They whacked us for fortyeight thousand dollars. Come on, forty
eight thousand and fifty dollars. Now, that includes twenty thousand dollars for the
(35:28):
design of the logo, which isagain the design of the Nike logo was
fifty dollars. And then you havea ten thousand dollars on what they called
a comprehensive style guide what is thatI don't know. Then an eight thousand
dollars brand summary of the logo,so they can now read this is for
(35:50):
the Department of Health. They cannow read about what the logo means to
somebody for eight thousand dollars. Nowthat's all your money that's being spent there.
In case you're wondering. On theother side of the equation, the
Department of Environmental Services spent zero moneyon their new logo. They didn't create
a new logo. They did havea new logo by the logo design team
(36:14):
that's employed by the state. Sothere's an in house logo design team.
Think about how anxious these people werethey heard about the news like last year.
Oh, they're gonna split, they'regonna need a new logo. We're
finally going to get an opportunity todesign an office out to be in the
office early. They're sharpening their pencils. They get press screens of the graphic
designers. So they're all staring atthe phone waiting on the ring. I
(36:37):
want to answer it. When itrings, then they have to read somewhere
else. Nuh huh no, no, why would you hire and outside?
Okay, so when you design alogo. If you're a local business person,
you understand a couple of things. One, you need a logo,
sure, But secondly, the logodoesn't mean anything until you attach meaning to
(36:57):
it, meaning the services that youhave provided to the consumer base. They
start to say to themselves, well, that logo means something. When I
see that, then I recognize this. But at the beginning it doesn't mean
anything. But that's if you're aprivate business. If you're a state agency,
I don't have an option to notuse you. So what difference does
(37:20):
it make what kind of logo youhave? Come on, Kelly, we're
complaining about forty eight thousand and fiftydollars and a budget that's what six hundred
million. This is chump change. It is total chump change, but a
great example of how the bureaucrats don'tgive a rip about you as a taxpayer.
Oh. I can hardly wait tosee it too. It's going to
(37:40):
be incredible. This will be comingout at July the first. In case
you're wondering, Chernoff Newman was pickedafter a competitive bidding place. I'm sure
so I get off this question right. Stuff. I think you'll probably find
out forty eight thousand is a prettygood Maybe they cut us a discount.
I love how the and now it'sstill d Heck till July first. D
(38:02):
Heck said the money paid to churnOff Newman quote goes well beyond a logo,
but builds an overreaching communications strategy thatwill create awareness, confidence, and
trust amongst the employees. Who thestakeholders? Okay, aren't we the stakeholders
and the taxpayers? What's the da stakeholder and a taxpayer in this deal?
(38:22):
Sure? Aren't all taxpayers stakeholders?Well, wait to July first,
because I'm telling you turn Off Newmannationally recognized one of the best advertising,
one of the best pr firms inthe world. If you have a trust
issue amongst your employees, I canguaranteeing tee you that a new logo isn't
going to fix it. If theyhave a reputation for good management practices,
(38:44):
are they going to come in andhelp us out Monday through Friday? That's
going to be a lot more thanthe forty eight to five. That a
little pricing, all right, haveyourself a great satturity, South Carolina,
have big salute today. Ads.That's right, Happy Father's Day, Jonathan
M. Kelly show. That isour podcast. Thank you for being here
with us. I'll show myself outuntil we meet again, Curry. And
(39:05):
that's the way it is. WVOC
