Speaker 1 (00:04):
Scueler and Moats are on the air. This is the
Steeler's Blitz on your twenty four to seven home of
the Black and Gold s n R Steelers Nation Radiom.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
What's going on Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
It is high noon on a Friday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
That can only mean one thing.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
It's time to go inside the electric factory here in
your twenty four to seven home of the Black.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
And the Gold.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
It is the Steelers Blitz on the Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Of course, it is the Friday before the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Woo.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
It is the Friday after the NFL Awards woo. It
is just another day and kind of the busiest, most
jam packed week of the NFL CALENDARO. And with that,
Arthur Motes, we finally got some news we've been waiting for,
some anticipated for a long time, announcement much like the

(01:58):
NFL Draft coming to Pittsburgh, and we kind of knew
that that was inevitable and we were just waiting for
the official announcement. We felt the same way about the
Steelers in Ireland, that there was a great chance it
was gonna happen. It happened sooner rather than later, and
that we thought that it could be any day now, Well,
guess what Motzi this morning?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Oh on, let me hit my little music here. We
finally got our announcement, Arthur Motes.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
As the NFL is coming to Dublin and the Pittsburgh
Steelers are the designated host team.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Take a listen to this.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
A lot has changed since the last time, with some
things to never do. These roots run deep, always have,
always will. The bomb between Ireland and the Steelers is
forged in history, passionate, pride, benief. You see, black, gold

(03:01):
and green are just meant to be music, football and
tradition are intertwined in the.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Spirit of Ireland. This isn't just any game.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
This is a celebration of heritage and the culture and
I'm unbreakable unding spirit. Picture thousands of Irish fans waving
their terrible towels. Is the NFL season lambs in Dublin
for the first time. The sound of the drum echoes
across the city. The Pittsburgh Stealers are commonly crow part.

(03:41):
It's time to witness history. Are you ready?

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I'm ready, Arthur Mote, it is it is? How about
that the Steelers?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Oh yes, as we get our little I see.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Ye're about see. It's official.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
The first NFL regular season game in Ireland. It's coming
to Dublin this season twenty twenty five, and the Pittsburgh
Steelers are the designated host team.

Speaker 7 (04:11):
I like it, man, exciting time, Man, I many till
you're talking about expanding the game, man, playing internationally, tapping
into different fan bases, demographics.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
I mean, for me, I love that.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
And for the Pittsburgh Stillls to be one of the
representatives of the NFL. I mean it's a huge honor.
You know, obviously US is still with fans like we're
excited because it's Yo, this is us, We're going over
to Ireland. But it also made your representation of the
business of the brand. For a lot of people in Ireland,
this gonna be their first time seeing an NFL game live,
and everything that will take place out there, man is gonna,

(04:44):
you know, be historic to some of those people. Man,
they're gonna see that and that's might be the only
time in their life that they will ever see a
professional team play football American style in their stadium. And
I think that's excited man, Like I Guesid, if you're
Pittsburgh Still, you should feel proud. You should feel, like
I said, a sense of honor behind that, because the
NFL isn't just sending anybody over. They're very strategic with

(05:05):
the teams they send over and they do it for
a reason. Whether it was with Jacksonville they were trying
to drum up interest with him potentially relocation with them.
But also, man, it's just like, all right, we don't
just send anybody over there. It has to make sense
for the brand and like I said, for us to
be the ones they're sending over there.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Man, I'm a hyperbody man.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, me too.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
I mean, there's a lot of reasons to be excited
about this. Just you don't have to be living under
a rock to realize the history between the Steelers organization,
the Rooney family and what the country of Ireland means
to them and what it meant to DMR specifically. And
he served as the ambassador to Ireland under President Obama

(05:45):
I believe his first term, I want to say, from
two thousand and eight until twenty twelve. And this is again,
this is something that has been talked about, I mean,
like I want to say, Mozi for over a decade,
ever since the Steelers went to London.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
You know, because there was.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
The backdrop of in the preseason in nineteen ninety seven,
the Steelers and the Bears played a preseason game in Ireland.
That happened in ninety seven, and then, you know, about
a decade later, the NFL started playing games regularly overseas,
and then in twenty thirteen, the Steelers were a part
of one of those, of course, the game against the
Minnesota Vikings. And then it was kind of like as

(06:25):
that started to expand, and you get games in Germany,
and you get games in Spain, and you get games
in Brazil, and we just had the announcement earlier this
week that next year, twenty twenty six, there's going to
be a game in Melbourne, correct, not Sydney, and in Melbourne,
Australia like Dublin.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
And before that they used to do them in Toronto
as well, and you obviously had Mexico that was what's.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Right, I forgot about that multiple games, Yeah, in Mexico City.
The Steelers have been part of that in the past,
as have some other franchises as well too, and so
it kind of felt like Dublin in Ireland was one
of these next steps, you know, and it obviously felt
like when, if, and when that happens. The Pittsburgh Steelers,

(07:08):
the history of their ownership group in the country of Ireland,
the city of Pittsburgh, and it's it's Irish heritage, which
is obviously very prevalent for a lot of reasons. Again,
it felt like this was going to happen one day.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yeah, but the.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Years kind of roll by.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
You know, when are the Steelers going to play an
international game again? Could they go to Mexico City before
they go to Dublin. That was a conversation that was
had a few years ago. But here it is. The
Steelers will be playing what will be a home game
as they are the designated team. That's why they are
the kind of at the forefront of this announcement, like,
this is historic. We can be hyperbolic with that term.

(07:49):
Everything now is historic. Everyone now is a legend or
a goat, right, But this really is history in the making,
a long time in the making. The first regular season
game that's gonna be played in Ireland at a historic
stadium like Croke Park, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are gonna
be the host team, the home team.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Hey man, Sean, how to black and Go? Really do man.
But like I said, man, it's awesome experience.

Speaker 7 (08:10):
Man, it's gonna be big time in whenever you're talking
about being a part of international games, like exaid. From
my experiences, being in Toronto was cool, but when you
leave the continent, man.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
It's a whole another level to it.

Speaker 7 (08:22):
And for these dudes, man, like I said, it's gonna
be interesting to see you know, obviously opponent with time
of year, it is.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
But that's exciting, man, It's got to be exciting time.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Man, No, it absolutely is. It's big news. It's exciting news.
And with that, we have.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Who's booked their flights? You got your hotel. I don't
know when.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, I know a lot of people already have.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
Just just call them up and tell them just hold
your seat. Want to know the d J shit, but
hold your See.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
We do not know the date just yet.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I know there's speculation around that, but officially that will
be announced later in the spring as part of the
NFL's schedule unveiling. M Okay, gotta roll that out a
little bit more so they'll be rumors, be reports, but
we will not know eventually for a couple more months.
It's what's usually may I believe is when the NFL
does their schedule release like after the draft. Yes, so,

(09:10):
so it'll be in that time frame that more details
the opponent, the date all those things.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Start to roll out.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
There will be a ticketing lottery system.

Speaker 7 (09:20):
So for anybody who's educated, what do you mean, what's
this ticket lottery system you speak of?

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Well, okay, so Croke Park Arthur Motes holds a little
over eighty thousand.

Speaker 7 (09:28):
People mustink some of us have ever been set to
Ireland or of like Iland.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I have never been to Ireland, but I have been
part of a ticket lotteries. But I've been listening to
holiday and excepts.

Speaker 7 (09:38):
But but your knowledge for the international space, your knowledge
for over there, I mean there's going to be a
lot higher than I'm sure most of the casual listeners
in here. So that's what I'm saying, Like, you know,
set us up, man, paint the pitch for us. What
is Croke Park? Why do we need to be worried
about it? And more importantly, man, we're talking about this

(09:59):
this lotteries situation.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Man, are we getting good seats? It was just average?
Sheats Like we're looking like here, how does the whole
thing work out?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
So Crump Park is it's like the Wembley Stadium of Ireland.

Speaker 7 (10:10):
Do you see what I'm saying? You saw you were
able to just give it perfect analogy. That's what we need.
That's what we need. Man, Stop talking like this is
common for us.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
You anything that you would say.

Speaker 7 (10:23):
Casually and you would think we would need to say,
makes you say it all right because we don't know
it like that?

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Man, Yeah, I kN know how to compare you. I'm like,
all right, it is it a rugby stadium? Is it
like a tennis stadium? Like what we're looking at me,
help me out, help is a sacrispice?

Speaker 5 (10:37):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (10:38):
It's mostly used for for Gaelic football, for rugby, for hurling, right,
Irish sports?

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Curling?

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Okay, hurling.

Speaker 7 (10:47):
Yeah, I was like, I don't I've heard of curling.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
All right.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Holds over eighty two thousand people. Fourth largest stadium in Europe.

Speaker 7 (10:55):
Okay, okay, which is impressed because now they got some
massive stadiums of it.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
It's historic, it's old.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
It was built in eight fineteen eighty four, one hundred
and forty one years old. Now they did massive renovations
in two thousand and four as you could imagine.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
But no relocation though, but no relocation.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
It is the same construction comes around finished open back
in eighteen eighty four. Like I said, fourth largest stadium
in Europe. They have hosted as you can imagine, a
ton of historic sporting events, big time sporting events over
the years, concerts, all those different things.

Speaker 7 (11:27):
That's the Olympic no especially okay, special Olympics in O
three in.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Two thousand and three, yes, which was done I believe
right before they did all the renovations there.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
They have like I said, I mean everything from you know,
massive concerts to speeches from popes to historic sporting events.

Speaker 7 (11:45):
Now, sure if you would be able to find it.
Are we in like a city where this stadium is
look at it? Or is it like kind of spaced
out like you know what I mean? Because you know,
I think of if you're playing in like Foxborough, New England,
is in like a neighborhood, right It's is in the city.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
That's pretty you look at it. I pull up the
map for you right here. I mean it is it is.
It is in downtown Dublin, like it is not right
in the heart on the water. But it is still
in the city. It's not out in the.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
How it we play it's called Buffalo. You're planning what
your parking?

Speaker 7 (12:14):
Yes, you said you playing, and we play in San
fran But the stadium is like an Ahoa away.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Like, bro, this this is not San Francisco anymore.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Bro. It is not necessarily right on the north shore
like it is in Pittsburgh, but it's it's there maybe
like maybe like the Eagles Complex type thing, you know
what I mean, Like you can see skyline and everything.

Speaker 7 (12:32):
From you're you're down in the heart of it, but
you're not like right in the center of the excellent
map in the heart of it, correct, which.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Is honestly usually pretty good balance. You're still in the city,
but you're not in the in the city.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Now.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Ticketing information here, of course, what everybody needs to know
general mission ticket.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Then we'll go on sale later.

Speaker 3 (12:52):

but fans interested in purchasing ticket for the twenty twenty
five Dublin game can place a fully refundable deposit.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Emphasis on fully refundable. I like that.

Speaker 3 (13:06):

Speaker 2 (13:11):

Speaker 4 (13:14):

have about the Dublin game, about tickets, about travel dates,

(14:02):
if you're a season ticket holder, if you're just a
regular fan, all those different things.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
Question for the diehard fan that wants to travel with
Wesley Juler just flying on the same flight, what flight
are you planning on flying?

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Impossible?

Speaker 7 (14:13):
Oh wow, that was an USTI I mean, don't take
it personally like the viewers. They I'm sure they want
to have like a group party, like we all flo
out there together.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
You know, we could just.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Run a couple of planes. We could all go together.
That would be fun. Angry Bike Lane brings this to
my attention. Previous schedule elites d dates from the past years.
Last year it was May fifteenth. Year before that, it
was May eleventh. Year before that, it was May twelfth,
So right around that second week of May time, right
around that same time for is that Mother's Dy weekend,

(14:47):
right that is just after Mother's Day weekend, So mid
to early May is when I would expect maybe some
final details on all of this again around the NFL's
official schedule release timeframe. But if you got more questions,
if you want more information, Steelers dot com right now.
Of course a ton of different articles up on there
on this game, the history of it, the last time

(15:08):
the Steelers played in Dublin for that preseason game at
Croke Park back in nineteen ninety seven, and of course
the frequently asked questions about the twenty twenty five Dublin game.
All of your ticketing travel, all those different questions can
be found there.

Speaker 7 (15:22):
Hey, so if it's in't awake, if it's a home game,
but we're away.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
How many home games do I get? Actually an aca?

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Sure, well, the Pittsburgh Steelers, this is the year they're
scheduled to have nine home games. Is that several season
they play eight true home games? I want nine, eight
on the road. I can't get nine at the house.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
And then the Ireland game, we don't get nine at
the house. Oh it's gonna be our house. Man, did
you not hear the video I played?

Speaker 3 (15:45):
It just started a segment to said, imagine all the
Irish fans waving a terrible tis at Croak Park.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Okay, let's go, Let's do this.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
It's exciting.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Like I said it, We all all knew that this
was coming, but now it is officially here. The Steelers
will one hundred ironclad take it to the bank, host
a game in Dublin in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Let's do it. Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
And if you really want to start projecting potential opponents,
it would have to be one of those scheduled home
games for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I know a lot
of people throughout like all the Steelers are scheduled to
pay the Patriots right Boston, Pittsburgh, Ireland.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
That makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
That's an away game for the Steelers, all right, I
will not I can tell you that right now.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
There we go, will we go? There we go? You
see how you got all a little deferent.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
It will be one of the nine home games that
the Steelers are scheduled to host this season with those opponents.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
He I guess what, guys, Yeah, I know I've told
you this before. West has the answers already. He's just
slow playing. He don't want to give it to you.
He's been known these answers, these and he knows this
stuff so far in advance.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
Just know, if you really want to know who the
Steelers are playing, if you really want to know when
it still was a plane, this.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Is the guy to know, Wesley Uller. He has all
the answers. When you're gonna tell us, man, we tune
in all the time. I do a show.

Speaker 7 (17:11):
Just gonna drop it, man, Just tell me, Oh my gosh,
yes you do? I know you do. You ride on
the plane with the guy that makes these type of decisions.
You walk past his seat, he's in one A. You're
in like you're in here, but he's in one A.
I mean, I get it. I get it, you know,
but you're in here. It's only but so many seats.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
You feel me?

Speaker 7 (17:34):
So you still VI P, you still vi I P.
He just won a I got that. But you ride
with him, so I know? You know who were playing?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Man? Just tell us who are playing? All right? What
color is their primary color in their uniform?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
TVD CO all right?

Speaker 5 (17:49):
All right?

Speaker 4 (17:49):
A right? Is there a logo or is there a mascot?
An animal?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
TVD Steelers dot Com frequently asked question page all the
answers you can need to know?

Speaker 4 (18:05):
All right? Does their name have a vowel in it?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Stop it?

Speaker 3 (18:10):
The only uh, the only person I think that's phone
might be blowing up about people wanting information more than
ours is Michael McQuaid, host of the Steelers Ireland podcast.
As you can imagine, he's through the moon about this announcement.
He called in to Max and Wolf this morning shout out,

(18:31):
let's go, and I clipped out just a couple of
minutes of that conversation where he talks about what this
means to the fans in Ireland and how the anticipation
and the excitement for this is already building and is
already through the roof we'll hear what he had to
say from the Steelers Irish perspective when we return on
the other side, West Wheeler, Arthur Motes.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
It's the Steelers Blitz.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold SNR.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Back on the Blitz here as we're having some fun
on this Friday.

Speaker 7 (20:11):
We ain't going to Ilan. We gonna man, we ain't
get it Irish. We ain't going to Iron, Go green,
Go green, you know. Shout shout out to all my
Irish folk out there. You know I do got a
little irishman man. You know I did do that twenty
three and me all all them little things, I got
some Irish hemmy.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
So shout out to my Irish people. All right, we're
gonna get We'll have a little fun out there.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
I don't have to. I don't have any Irish.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
In But you got an Irish jersey on, so it
looks good.

Speaker 7 (20:38):
But I I think you got Irish accent.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
I drink enough guinness and appreciate the culture enough that
like I'm honorary.

Speaker 7 (20:49):
You know, hey, man, you could be what you want
to be in today's world, you don't have to actually
have it.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Just identify as Irish. This ain't that hard.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
I am a yinser who has photos boots with his
pints of Guinness, so you know, I'm not Irish, but
I'd like to think I support the cause.

Speaker 7 (21:06):
You can identify as Irish if you would like to.
There's nobody go to you back from that. This is
America twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Don't tell them that like I'm primarily English because they
don't really get along.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Do you think that has stopped anything?

Speaker 7 (21:18):
You can identify as an Irish Man that is German
at the same time in American all at once, and
I'm gonna accept you dual passport.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Well, let me just get my passport first.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
Let's get the first name first. All right, it's in
the process.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
So it's in the process already.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Let's get this one done and then you worry about
the dual part.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
All right, Okay, fair enough.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Somebody who obviously can speak to the culture in Ireland,
the Steelers fan base in Ireland and what this means
for everyone on that side of the pond, because we're
jacked up about it, right, But imagine how they are motes.
Imagine how excited I would be if Manchester United was
playing a regular season.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Game at Akershurre Stadium. It is, it is.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
They've played games in the United States before, preseason. They
call him friendlies over there, okay, but not a regular
season game, and not in Pittsburgh, in my hometown. Like
I've seen them play in Washington, d C. Before, I've
seen them play in Philly before, but not in my hometown,
not for a meaningful.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Regular season game.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Somebody who can speak to that from the Irish side
certainly is Michael McQuaid. Mick McQuaid, of course, he is
a longtime Steeler fan. He's been involved with the NFL
for a while, and he hosts the Steelers Ireland podcast.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
It is.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
He's in New Orleans right now in Radio Rows, but
he joined Max and Wolf this morning to talk about
just what this means to him, the excitement in Ireland
and around all the Steelers fans across the pond. Here
is what Michael mcquad said this morning.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
Sorry guys, sorry guys. I think Radio Rogue the best
of us. There no look and like delighted to be
on What a day for the organization, What a day
for Ireland is an honor. It's an honor to speak
to you guys every day in the pastic moment.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
So excited, Michael.

Speaker 8 (23:03):
We're looking at pictures of Croke Park or do you
call it the Croker?

Speaker 4 (23:07):
That's what they said, the locals call it the Croker?
Is it true?

Speaker 6 (23:11):
We call it Croker. It's like the Maca of sports
in Ireland, and it's just it's the place.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
Obviously the theaters had a chance to play there in
ninety seven, but almost thirty years all in the stadiums expanded.
It's got big and we're going to see over seventy
six thousand fonds talking there later on in the year
and it's going to be out the guys.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
Oh, I cannot wait, Michael. We've already talked about this obviously.
I've been on Radio roll with you this week and
you know, we are definitely going to ask for all
of the Irish hospitalities. We try everything that is Ireland,
from the liquid libations to the savory dishes. But kind

(23:52):
of just talk about kind of the process of this.
I mean, you talked about almost thirty years in the making.
Were the return trip for the Steelers back to Ireland,
just you know what that process looks like to bring
a game to another country. And obviously the last time
the Steelers played out of country across the Pond was

(24:14):
in twenty thirteen, so I mean even for the Steelers,
you know, twelve years to get back to an international game,
but of course be this of all national games, international
games to be coming to Ireland.

Speaker 6 (24:26):
Yeah, twelve years is a long time, and I think
the Steelers are actually one of the last teams in
not thirty two to you know, make the trip over
again so soon, so it's great to have them. They
played the Vikings in London last time, and I think
they're actually on their schedule at home next year, so
let's see what happens. I guess in terms of in
terms of Croke Park and in terms of nineteen ninety
seven that was actually for a preseason called the American Bowl.

(24:48):
It was the first time that Fox Sports had traveled
internationally for a broadcast. It was a big moment and
obviously for the Lea Dan Rooney it meant an awful
lot to the Rooney family. And I guess now, guys,
with the added you know, technollogy, the world has got
smaller these opportunities present themselves to allow that we can
have a game. We can not just show Dublin on

(25:08):
a grand scale, but show the world just how many
Steelers fans are in Dublin and really, you know, do
justice to the work of the RUnni family, not just
over the last twenty to thirty years since they've emigrated
to America.

Speaker 8 (25:21):
Michael, what's the reaction locally, Ben, you get out amongst
the fans and some of the people and the you know,
the neighborhood and everything else, what's they kind of like,
what are they saying?

Speaker 6 (25:34):
So I'm on radio Row right now, So all I
can tell you right now is I have about fourteen
hundred notifications on my phone. People are absolutely buzzing. They
cannot wait. And I'll tell you what I might need
to do. I might need a new phone after.

Speaker 8 (25:47):
Today in a good way.

Speaker 6 (25:49):
Look, we we went in the tour last week. We
went to three areas around the island of Ireland, and obviously,
while we didn't you know, officially talk about it, there
was you know, speculation of strikes that this was imminent,
and lots of the excitement, the appreciation that every fan
has for something as precious as a home game. People
get it. I think lots and I'm not just saying

(26:11):
this because of the podcast that we're all on the team.
I think this is going to be the biggest international
game that's ever happened. I think the momentum is there.
Everybody in Ireland is excited. It's going to be the
hottest ticket in time. It'll be as hot as an
All Ireland Football Final ticket, which Incrow Park, which you
can't get over here. So it's going to be a massive,
massive day when it happens. And just so excited. Guys.

Speaker 9 (26:34):
No, you're absolutely right. And what you're talking about. I
know I got an email. I don't know about everybody else,
but I got an email, you know, stating about this
moment and about locking in your opportunity you can actually go,
and I just lost the There we go. If you

(26:54):
are on the Steelers news or you've gotten tickets before,
it says you know, the Steelers are heading to our
Steelers Nation, pack your bags. We're taking the Black and
Goal to the Emerald Isle. For the first time ever,
the NFL will play a regular season game in Dublin, Ireland,
but the Steelers as the home team. Additional details including opponent,
day and time, will be announced as part of the
NFL full schedule release this spring, and then of course

(27:16):
if you want to be a part of the action,
you could place a deposit to lock in your place
for this. And like you said, Michael, I think that
kind of underscores it is that this might be the
hottest ticket internationally just because of you know, you already
have the fans that are in England and Germany from
extensive games being played, and we know how far that reaches,

(27:39):
and fans of all teams right come and celebrate in
these stadiums for these international games. But more importantly, we
want to see more black and gold than we want
to see any other team affiliations going into the game.
So it's something you want to make sure that if
you're not, make sure you tap into the Steelers' news
and everything. And of course, Michael, I know, I know
you're may you know not the full compliments not there

(28:03):
with you on Radio Row and you're kind of the
flag bearer for the Steelers the Steelers Nation Ireland podcast.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
You know, when when.

Speaker 9 (28:13):
You think about like just seeing everything that's happening this
week with Eagles, Chiefs and you're actually in one of
the craziest days. I don't know if you've noticed that yet,
but I mean, just talk about the last couple of days,
about being on Radio Row and just everybody that's been
out there today, because I know there's been a lot
of Steelers walking around there. I mean I was there yesterday.

(28:36):
I saw James Harrison, Charlie Batch, Willie Cologne, Joey porter
Uh and others kind of walking around there.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
What is it have you?

Speaker 9 (28:44):
Have you caught any of those guys yet to talk
to them about this announcement yet.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
It's funny. I met Tom Hayward yesterday. I always was
shouting to Max's salad's grip. It was good to see
you mix as vow was always it was shot in
a Tom Hayward and the first thing he said to
me was, I kind of wait at the Ireland so
the players are all buzzing about it. I was shotting
at Charlie Batch as well. Do you know what?

Speaker 4 (29:04):
It's just?

Speaker 6 (29:05):
It's you know, guys, as a football fan and someone
that loves the game and you have the chance to
talk about the game on the LYB just thanks to
yourselves and everybody else to come over here this week.
When you see players, you see the world media, and
you see your friends, it really is awesome. And you know,
I'll be honest with you, our table has been pretty

(29:25):
hot this week when people coming up asking about the Steelers,
asking about the Dublin game. It's it's it's just special,
isn't it, Especially when it's the first time. You can't
beat the first time for a game like this. So
it's been a very very special week and great to
see so many familiar fieces. Great to see so many
Black and Gold guys playing for the Steelers here as well,
and former players Hall of Famers Jerome Batt is here

(29:47):
yesterday as well. And it's been a fun week. You know,
it's been fantastic.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
Feels like the first time, he said, you don't forget
it now.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
You feels like the favorite first time.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
It is fantastic. Come on, I think.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
He Hey, this is Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
You played for the team. I grew up rooting for
the team. Still do.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
I don't still play though.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
You know, Arthur Motes, I used to root for the
Pittsburgh Steelers. I still do, but I used to.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
I used to as well.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, it is we were a little bit of a
home or position obviously in that regard.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
But I think I think Mick McQuaid makes a good
point there.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
He's like an awayer.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
This is gonna set the standard for international games. The reception,
the energy, the attention, the atmosphere, the traveling fans like
this is this is going to be, I think a
benchmark moment for the National Football League and for for
their international games.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
Low key.

Speaker 7 (30:53):
I do feel like if I was whoever the opponent
is going to be that's announced, I'm like, hey, bro, yeah,
setting us up low key, because you know, this isn't
even like neutral fan site.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
This isn't like the.

Speaker 7 (31:03):
London games or the Germany ones or it's oh yeah,
you're walking into a situation where it's going to be
heavily Pittsburgh Steelers, Like not even on a surprise, like
we all know. It's like if the Silver to playing
Mexico right now, like it's going to be heavily slanted
in their favor from a crowd perspective. It's like, man, yea,

(31:25):
I could have picked a different tape, but I guess
that's part of it though.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
What it's going to be like, you know how like
with Georgia football, they play a neutral game and.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Atlanta, It's like, that's not neutral, Bro, that's a home
game for you.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
For scheduled perspective with your home game.

Speaker 7 (31:40):
I'm with you, So for us, I love that, But
for whoever that team is, I'm like, Bro, that's a
set up that ain't no regular international game.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
That's a home game for.

Speaker 7 (31:47):
The Steelers with Rabbit fans that just have accent now,
But yeah, you know what that is.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
I like, Mike makes a point here, you know, with
all the connections with Ireland and the Steelers hopefully being
the first team to have a regular season win there
as well, there's no doubt big part about it, as
much as the build up and the anticipation will be
a blast.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Heck, we're March, April, May, Jims July.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
We're seven eight months away from the game still happening,
and we're already jacked up about it. But you're right,
if we want to really remember it as a special moment,
winning is going to be a big part. But obviously
we have plenty of time to get there, to cross
that bridge. When we get to it, first, we're gonna
have to cross the pond. Hey, we can cross the bridge.

(32:34):
But you get what I'm saying. Hey, no, a lot
more to come here today, some more on this Ireland game.
We'll get to some of your tweets here and the segment.
We got to do a quick segment on the other side,
get our clock back on schedule. We have Brian Bacco,
an hour number ten man. We'll get his thoughts on
all the latest and this trip to Ireland. And as
we rock and roll here on our final regular season

(32:55):

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Don't you love it? I do?

Speaker 3 (32:58):
On a Super Bowl I mean obviously too. We gotta
talk about that game Expen this Sunday.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Don't you love it?

Speaker 2 (33:03):

Speaker 1 (34:00):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold scan R.

Speaker 3 (34:12):

Speaker 3 (34:26):

we do need to get back on track.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Continue to get those tweets in.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
You know where to get at us if you want
to get involved.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
As we like, I don't even necessarily.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I'm trying to plot out the rest of the show
in my mind, and I'm like, well, I got so
much time, and I'm wasting that precious time.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Now.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Yeah, I would agree, man, just just talk. Just get
it off, bro, no matter where we go, just go.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
So here's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
Talk to him.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
We're gonna get our clock back on track.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
All right, We'll do a little super Bowl conversation stake
his second hour.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Uh huh, Bacco tweets all right. That sounds like a
plan to everybody.

Speaker 7 (35:06):
Sounded like a plan to me. I saw Cam Heyward
on TV last night. By the way, it was pretty
cool him and his lovely wife Ally. I like when
I see them on Pire couple just doing it out there.
Pire couple doing it out there. He looked real sharp
nighte suit jacket he.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Had one, he did, and he is pumped to be
going to Ireland. Dis right for this.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
As we heard our buddy Mix say there in the
previous segment.

Speaker 7 (35:26):
Whend less than seen a big ol prof from Ohio
State show up in your city.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
I uh more on Ireland.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
