I've been looking forward tothis one, man.

I know this is, this is, I've been really
looking forward to this pod.
I look forward to all of them,but this one.
So two false starts we're readyto bring this thing home.
We're ready to do our fancy playdraft.
Uh, I'm going to explain alittle bit later what that
entails, but first let'sintroduce our two guests.
We have Meko Scott, MorganCannon here.

I think we've like drafted foodsand stuff back in the day and
POD like in the, in the offseason.
But this is a good one.
I'm, you know, I got some inmind too, that hopefully other

So I've seen stuff like thisdone on, like you guys said,
other draft channels or otherpodcasts.
I've seen people draft movies,like the best time travel movies
and all this kind of stuff.
One thing that's afforded us tobe able to do this is the Lions
made so many memorable playsthis year, either offensively or
defensively.

So it started to be fun, youknow.
20 plays seem to like a goodnumber.
So that's why I wanted Morganand Meko both to be on this.
Uh, last week we had somescheduling stuff.
We had sicknesses getting away,but we're moving forward and
we're going to be able to dothis.
So how we're going to do this isright before the, right before
the podcast, we picked randomlythe draft order.
It's kind of like a fantasyfootball draft.

Um, we did that.
We're going to do a snake orderone through four and then four
through one.
The goal of this is to assembleyour best plays out of everyone.
So I'm trying to pick fivebetter plays than Jacob as a
whole.
So what is considered a bestplay?
And this is the cool part aboutthis.
This is really up to whoever'sdrafting.

I consider a cool play, maybeMikko has a different idea about
that.
So we're, you know, it'd be fun.
And, and these are, you know.
What do you think are cool?
There could be a five yard game,but it could have been the
coolest five yard game, thinkback to the day with Barry
Sanders.
He had some of the best two yardruns.
Um, you know, not every, uh,best play is going to be a trick
play or a touchdown.
There's just some fun plays outthere.

So you could have a game change.
You play, you could have trickplays, just amazing athletic
plays.
Um, the only stipulation that Iwant to come up with is of your.
Five plays that you pick one ofthem has to be a defensive play.
So they can't be just all fiveoffensive plays.
And then at the end, we're goingto debate who's got the best
five.
So the draft order is I'm goingfirst.

it's totally unbiased, but youknow, you guys saw me do it, but
Jacob thinks still think Icheated somehow.

Uh, Morgan second, Jacob'sthird, Meko's last, but Meko
gets the benefit.
Cause at the end he gets thepick, uh, you know, back to back
place.
So I, I don't know how you guysdid your list, but I actually.
You know, went through myprocess was I went through and
just watched, watched thehighlights of every game just to

kind of give myself a reminder,um, on, on these plays, wrote
them all down.
I ended up having like 40 playsthat I, that I liked really
liked throughout the season.
Then I just picked my top 20 andrated them.
you know, I don't expecteveryone to go as crazy as I
did, but I know Jacob had like40 when we talked, he was pretty
close.

It's week four versus Seattlecatches a pass from demo,
catches a pass from Jared golfsteamrolls Witherspoon, and then

just goes on to run for 40yards.
I, that is my favorite play ofthis year.
I, I just loved.
The attitude on it and just thefact that he almost gets tackled
three or four times and thenjust kind of runs and then does
a dead leg at the end, just tokind of showboat a little bit
and then runs out of bounds.
I love that play.

He planted Poor Devin Witherspoon too.

I really liked DevinWitherspoon, but he baptized
that young man that day.

week ahead and then be able topull it off flawlessly that, you
know, that was my favorite play.

When you watch that back,especially on the all 22, you're

All right, so my first one or two, I'm going to go ahead
and take, I believe this waslike the only special teams
touchdown of the season.
And I'm going to go with KhalifRaymond's punt

Uh, Khalif is somebody that Ithink like sometimes gets like
forgotten on, on, on as far aslike his impact on the team.
Um, And while he may not be,like, the most dynamic punt
returner to ever play the game,like, anytime you get to see a

And that Tennessee game, when,like, the offense wasn't quite
getting the opportunities, um,and it was really just, like, a

I had that high on my list too.
I uh, I really like that it'sthe starting defense that's out
there like during this puntreturn.
And then you got like a, youknow, a lean Terry on Kirby out
there trying to block like, youknow, it's just, it looks
dysfunctional, but you know, forit to come back like that, that
was an awesome play by Khalif.

That whole game was hilarious, man, because was
sitting there and they keptkicking the ball to him and it
was like the third time and Ilooked over at my boy who also
like knows football really welland coaches and you know, all
that been around the gameforever.
And he's like, you don't thinkthey're gonna kick it to him

just getting him the ball inspace, having a couple of those
installed every week becausethings happen.
Cause he is one of the fasterpeople on the planet.

I think that was something thatwe were like specifically
banging, like the offense to domore of, uh, his rookie year,
his rookie year.
And I want to say like the earlyparts of, of, of year two was
just like, Hey, yeah, like let'sstop sending him on go routes.
Like you go back and you watchsome of the impressive stuff
that he did at Alabama.
It was a lot of.

Like crossing routes, and it wasa lot of slants and things like
that.
Um, and I think that's where JMOhas grown the most.
And I think, like, you continueto allow him to do those things
and you're just going tocontinue to see highlight after
highlight every time he getsthose kind of plays.

Yeah, just get the ball in your playmaker's
hands and let them make a play.
And the thing that's made him bemore dangerous is that his hands
have improved.

Able to make those catches veryconsistently and you could trust
them over the middle.
Cause if he doesn't catch those,right, those over the middle,
they bounce up and it ends up ina safety's hands.
You have to trust that it, thathe's going to catch it.

that was the trick play thatlike kind of kicked off early in
the season where you're justlike, okay, they're just trying
stuff now like this type ofstuff you shouldn't be able to

I think, um, We did an articlefor Pride of Detroit where we
kind of like listed the, likeour best plays or like we had to
pick our best play and I'mpretty sure I picked all the

So you wonder if next yearyou're going to see a little bit
more of, we saw in the Seahawksgame week four, the Seahawks ran

Not, it wasn't, it didn't looklike a hook and ladder play.
I saw, I think of the, you know,I'm sure there was some
throughout the leagues.

I saw the Patriots run it too,but you know, it's a copycat
league.
The Lions were so successfulwith it.
You got to wonder if that'sgoing to happen again, but you
know.
You got to have some talentedpeople running it or it's going
to end up on the ground andyou're going to look real
stupid.

All right, I get to pick my next one.
I'm going to go with the firstdefensive play of this draft.
And I'm going back to week four.
I struggled between this and theKirby pick six, but I'm going
with the Kirby Joseph end zonepick versus Seattle.
know it didn't score atouchdown, but that was just a
pretty, pretty interception.

It was an awesome play on theball.
Um, I, I, I, that's what I'mgoing with.
So I'm going to get my defensiveplay.
I'm going to go with Kirby andthen zone pick.
They were all like end zonepicks early in the year, early
in the season.
Um, then he started, you know,picking them off during the
field, but, uh, I'm going toleave someone else to pick six.
Cause that, you know, if you'regonna pick your defensive play,

I'm sure that's on someone'slist, but I'm going to go with,
he high pointed that ball.
He looked like a receiver inthat, in that play.
I, I, I could watch that playover and over again.

One of those plays that makes you remember
why Kirby was originally areceiver at Illinois So because
he really does the ball skillsare crazy, man.
I yeah good pick That's a,that's a pretty one.

I like, I like that play.
All right, Morgan, you're up.

I'm going to go Kirby monsoon pick, uh, against
the Packers.
Cause that was, that felt likethe death knell.
I was like, Oh, they're screwed.
You know, I was, uh, that wasone of the few games, you know,
me and Sarah just watching athome, cause that was Sunday
night, wasn't it?

Uh, no, it was a four.
It was four o'clock.
No, that the Packers game was afour o'clock game.
Tom Brady called it cause thatwas branch got thrown out.

It was a four o'clock gamethough.

That, that's what, uh, I'm goingto go that one though, for the
Kirby, the Kirby pick six, thatwas a, that was a beauty that
felt like the death knell too, Iwas like, Oh yeah, these dudes

One of the few times that Kirby blitzes, like it's behind
the line of scrimmage and it'sjust perfect timing.

Um, I remember Kirby said hescored the touchdown.
He didn't know what to do, doafterwards.
You know, he's, he was just soexcited.
He couldn't believe they pickedhim off right there.
And also, like you said, it wasa monsoon.
He gets to the sideline.
If you watch the replay, he likesteps really close.
Cause he does not want to fallat, you know, on that, on the
sideline there.

It was slippery, man.
You could even tell when he wascelebrating, he was trying not
to bust his, you know, what,

Uh, yeah.
And that was a huge, like yousaid, the lines were up 10 to
three at that point.
There was like 43 seconds leftin the hangup.
So that was a huge, uh, hugeplay.

that was basically game, man.
Especially with the crappy, likethey didn't do any that's I wish
more people could go back andwatch this game before the
defense was just so injuredbecause they were putting the
straps to people, man.
Like the Packers didn't score.
It was a garbage time touchdownwhen they finally did score.

Uh, a couple plays that I I um had on my list
that did get picked I Week 15golf scrambled past the Tim
Patrick out in the flat.
That was the Buffalo game.
I really liked that, that play.
Um, Patrick stuck out at the endzone, you know, and just anytime
golf does a little bit ofscrambling action, you don't get

Yeah, I've been helping Eric with the combine
preview series where we, youknow, highlight, you know, we
talk about what the lions havetypically looked for in the
past, what the, you know,undergrad homes and some players
that we could, you know, peoplecan keep an eye on and, you
