Jason Harwood (00:19):
Welcome back to another episode of Talking Grit.
Jacob, how are you feeling, man?

Jacob (00:24):
I feel great.
I've been looking forward tothis one, man.

Jason Harwood (00:27):
I know this is, this is, I've been really
looking forward to this pod.
I look forward to all of them, but this one.
So two false starts we're readyto bring this thing home.
We're ready to do our fancy playdraft.
Uh, I'm going to explain alittle bit later what that
entails, but first let'sintroduce our two guests.
We have Meko Scott, MorganCannon here.
There are pod buddies.

(00:47):
How are you feeling fellows?

Meko (00:50):
Pretty good, man.
Glad, glad to be able to be backwith you guys and, you know,
hopefully having a really funfantasy drift.
I can't, I can't say that I'veever done something like this
before.
Okay.

Jacob (01:01):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (01:01):
Yeah.
I mean, either.
I think we've like drafted foodsand stuff back in the day and
POD like in the, in the offseason.
But this is a good one.
I'm, you know, I got some inmind too, that hopefully other
people won't think of to makethis a process.

Jason Harwood (01:16):
Yeah, like it.
So I've seen stuff like thisdone on, like you guys said,
other draft channels or otherpodcasts.
I've seen people draft movies, like the best time travel movies
and all this kind of stuff.
One thing that's afforded us tobe able to do this is the Lions
made so many memorable playsthis year, either offensively or
defensively.

(01:36):
So it started to be fun, youknow.
20 plays seem to like a goodnumber.
So that's why I wanted Morganand Meko both to be on this.
Uh, last week we had somescheduling stuff.
We had sicknesses getting away, but we're moving forward and
we're going to be able to dothis.
So how we're going to do this isright before the, right before
the podcast, we picked randomlythe draft order.
It's kind of like a fantasyfootball draft.

(01:57):
Um, we did that.
We're going to do a snake orderone through four and then four
through one.
The goal of this is to assembleyour best plays out of everyone.
So I'm trying to pick fivebetter plays than Jacob as a
whole.
So what is considered a bestplay?
And this is the cool part aboutthis.
This is really up to whoever'sdrafting.

(02:18):
I consider a cool play, maybeMikko has a different idea about
that.
So we're, you know, it'd be fun.
And, and these are, you know.
What do you think are cool?
There could be a five yard game, but it could have been the
coolest five yard game, thinkback to the day with Barry
Sanders.
He had some of the best two yardruns.
Um, you know, not every, uh,best play is going to be a trick
play or a touchdown.
There's just some fun plays outthere.

(02:39):
So you could have a game change.
You play, you could have trickplays, just amazing athletic
plays.
Um, the only stipulation that Iwant to come up with is of your.
Five plays that you pick one ofthem has to be a defensive play.
So they can't be just all fiveoffensive plays.
And then at the end, we're goingto debate who's got the best
five.
So the draft order is I'm goingfirst.

(03:02):
it's totally unbiased, but youknow, you guys saw me do it, but
Jacob thinks still think Icheated somehow.

Jacob (03:07):
Rigged.

Jason Harwood (03:08):
Yeah.
Uh, Morgan second, Jacob'sthird, Meko's last, but Meko
gets the benefit.
Cause at the end he gets thepick, uh, you know, back to back
place.
So I, I don't know how you guysdid your list, but I actually.
You know, went through myprocess was I went through and
just watched, watched thehighlights of every game just to

(03:30):
kind of give myself a reminder,um, on, on these plays, wrote
them all down.
I ended up having like 40 playsthat I, that I liked really
liked throughout the season.
Then I just picked my top 20 andrated them.
you know, I don't expecteveryone to go as crazy as I
did, but I know Jacob had like40 when we talked, he was pretty
close.

Jacob (03:49):
I have,

Meko (03:49):
guys

Jacob (03:49):
had 20, 80 plays.

Meko (03:51):
I

Jacob (03:53):
I did not have 40.

Jason Harwood (03:55):
Uh, yeah.
Morgan's our film buddy, so Iknow that he's probably got a
mind like a steel trap and justremembers all these plays.
He didn't even have to write itdown.

Morgan Cannon (04:05):
Definitely not like a steel trap, I, I write
everything.
I'm actually writing down stuffon sticky notes now, but I'm
weird though.
So like y'all, you know, y'allsets of criteria is probably not
going to be the same.
Like Meko knows, Meko knows whatkind of stupid place I'm going
to pick because I'm

Jason Harwood (04:19):
Hey, that's the fun part of it though.
Like everyone gets to pick theirown.
So I, I, I like it.
Meko, you better becomeprepared.
You said you didn't do as muchstudying, but come on, man.

Meko (04:31):
didn't, I'm going to be

Jason Harwood (04:32):
Yeah.

Meko (04:32):
with you guys.
Like,

Jason Harwood (04:33):
Yeah.

Meko (04:34):
We got so far removed from the season.
Like, kind of like Morgan wherelike, if I didn't write it down,

Morgan Cannon (04:42):
going to forget.

Meko (04:43):
down the plays that I'm picking, but like, I got to the
point where I'm just like, there's just too many, there's
too many plays to remember, like17 games.
And this offense was hummingfor, for a really large chunk of
the season.
Like, there's no way,

Jason Harwood (04:56):
Yeah.
Yep.
No, it's just, it's just funthing to do.
So, all right, I'm pickingfirst, um, I'm going as no
touchdown on this play.
This is the demo.
Get off me run.
That's what I titled it.
It's week four versus Seattlecatches a pass from demo,
catches a pass from Jared golfsteamrolls Witherspoon, and then

(05:17):
just goes on to run for 40yards.
I, that is my favorite play ofthis year.
I, I just loved.
The attitude on it and just thefact that he almost gets tackled
three or four times and thenjust kind of runs and then does
a dead leg at the end, just tokind of showboat a little bit
and then runs out of bounds.
I love that play.

Morgan Cannon (05:35):
He planted Poor Devin Witherspoon too.
Man.
I really liked DevinWitherspoon, but he baptized
that young man that day.
I was like, oh my God.
Yeah,

Jason Harwood (05:43):
I know.

Meko (05:44):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (06:07):
hit a immovable force.
My dude that, that.
That looks like

Jason Harwood (06:12):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (06:12):
when they talk about Monty runs like a, you
know, like a bowling ball fullof knives, you know Like that's
what I look at.
I'm like tackling somebody likethat.
It's just terrible

Jason Harwood (06:22):
No, that was great.

Morgan Cannon (06:25):
then?

Jason Harwood (06:25):
You're up, Morgan.

Morgan Cannon (06:27):
You know where I'm going.
I'm going the pen a soul oneyard loss heard around the world
he just sunned six differentbears players.
Like get, get off me.
You little, you know what boy,you know what I mean?
So that's where I'm sticking fornumber one.

Jacob (06:45):
Nice.

Jason Harwood (06:46):
Thanksgiving Day game, right?
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (06:49):
it?

Jason Harwood (06:50):
Yeah.
I think so.
Week 13.
Yeah.
Yep.

Morgan Cannon (06:52):
new boo goofing.
Yeah.
But yeah, that was hilarious.
And like the fact that he likeended the play on his feet.
I'm like these, like, itliterally looked like a bunch of
10 year olds trying to tackle meright now.
You know what I mean?
Like that's what it looks like.

Jacob (07:04):
That was like the Thanksgiving game at home,
right?

Jason Harwood (07:06):
Yes.

Jacob (07:07):
old uncle just shoving all the little kids around
playing outside.

Morgan Cannon (07:10):
exactly.
Get off me.
Nope.

Jason Harwood (07:14):
Yeah.

Jacob (07:14):
that was a good play.

Jason Harwood (07:15):
Yeah.
Count it

Jacob (07:16):
Interesting, Tom Perry, as a negative, right, a sack, a
negative one yard.

Jason Harwood (07:21):
Yep.

Morgan Cannon (07:22):
Mm hmm.

Jacob (07:23):
Still iconic.

Jason Harwood (07:25):
Yes.
Just

Jacob (07:26):
And, like, one of the coldest photos from that, too.

Morgan Cannon (07:30):
That poor,

Jacob (07:30):
Just met right in the guy's face.

Jason Harwood (07:33):
Yeah, it's stiffed arm.

Morgan Cannon (07:35):
just getting laid out, man.
But yeah.

Jason Harwood (07:39):
Loved it.
All right,

Jacob (07:41):
Alright,

Jason Harwood (07:41):
attitude checks for Morgan.
I can already see where we'restarting.
Right.
I like it.
All

Meko (07:46):
Silence.

Jacob (07:55):
the Bears.

Morgan Cannon (07:56):
Oh,

Jacob (07:57):
Uh, you know, the fake fumble, the announcers even
thought that the, you know, theythought Gibbs fell down, that it
was a bad exchange or whatever.
Just, you know, it was anawesome play watching live.
I knew right away, you know, that they did that on purpose,
obviously.
It looked obvious, but, uh, youknow, then to hear them talk
about it afterward and I likedthat.
Uh, You know, golf said BenJohnson asked him, like, could

(08:20):
you fumble the ball on purposeand then get it back?
Like, no, no, no.
Uh, but you know, that wasawesome.
You know, the thought that wentinto that and everything the
week ahead and then be able topull it off flawlessly that, you
know, that was my favorite play.
Plus it just embarrassed thebear.
So gotta love it.

Morgan Cannon (08:43):
not going to fumble the ball and then try it
like this thing's oblong.
Do y'all know how that works?
Like, I don't know.

Jason Harwood (08:48):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (08:48):
funny.
And then I also thought it waslike, I thought goth sold it
really well.
Like you know, the, the almoststumble Jameer did not.
I, I, attribute that to Jameerbeing so athletic.
He doesn't know how to not lookathletic.

Jason Harwood (09:04):
Mm hmm.

Morgan Cannon (09:09):
Jameer's like, what, how do I, yeah, it was
just funny though.
When you watch that back, especially on the all 22, you're
like, yeah, Jameer's in a lot ofcommercials, but we got a little
bit to go on the acting front.
In my opinion.

Jason Harwood (09:21):
I like that.
You know, even the sideline getsin on it, because they all yell
fumble, you know, and it justtries to sell it even more.

Morgan Cannon (09:28):
Mm hmm.

Jason Harwood (09:32):
All right, Meko, you're up.
Your first one of two.

Meko (09:35):
All right, so my first one or two, I'm going to go ahead
and take, I believe this waslike the only special teams
touchdown of the season.
And I'm going to go with KhalifRaymond's punt

Jason Harwood (09:45):
On.

Meko (09:45):
TV.
Uh, Khalif is somebody that Ithink like sometimes gets like
forgotten on, on, on as far aslike his impact on the team.
Um, And while he may not be,like, the most dynamic punt
returner to ever play the game, like, anytime you get to see a
punt return TD, like, it just, you, you, you start, like, the

(10:06):
excitement just kind of builds.
And that Tennessee game, when, like, the offense wasn't quite
getting the opportunities, um,and it was really just, like, a
special teams type of game, touchdown, like, was, was so
huge, um, and, and just beingable to keep the momentum on the
lion's side.
So I got to go with that one formy, for my first pick.

Jacob (10:26):
I had that high on my list too.
I uh, I really like that it'sthe starting defense that's out
there like during this puntreturn.
And then you got like a, youknow, a lean Terry on Kirby out
there trying to block like, youknow, it's just, it looks
dysfunctional, but you know, forit to come back like that, that
was an awesome play by Khalif.
Okay.

Morgan Cannon (10:45):
That whole game was hilarious, man, because was
sitting there and they keptkicking the ball to him and it
was like the third time and Ilooked over at my boy who also
like knows football really welland coaches and you know, all
that been around the gameforever.
And he's like, you don't thinkthey're gonna kick it to him
again.
I was like, they might, and thenthey kept, they kept doing it,
dude.
I was like, this is crazy.

Jason Harwood (11:07):
Yeah.
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (11:17):
Um, but yeah, it was just a, that was a funny
game, but yeah, I love thatpick.
Shout out Kali Freeman, man.
Always going to

Jason Harwood (11:23):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (11:23):
fan.

Jason Harwood (11:24):
Golf, uh, had like, what, 83 yards passing in
that game and we just totallyblew, blew them out.
But yeah.

Morgan Cannon (11:30):
to six.

Meko (11:31):
game, like

Morgan Cannon (11:33):
bro.

Meko (11:33):
far,

Morgan Cannon (11:35):
Shout out to their special teams coordinator
though.
Cause that like that guy, youknow what?
Let's keep kicking it.
Like he would, after the secondtime I get burned by, you're not
getting the ball again,

Jason Harwood (11:44):
Yeah.

Jacob (11:44):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (11:44):
mean?

Jacob (11:45):
right.
Okay.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.

Silence.
Silence.
Silence.

Jason Harwood (12:04):
All right, Meko, you get your next, you get to go
next.

Meko (12:08):
So I'm going to take one of the JMO end around, uh, type
of plays.
So I'm going to take the oneagainst the commanders.
Um,

Jacob (12:20):
Silence.

Meko (12:20):
again, I don't,

Jason Harwood (12:22):
you?
How are you?
Yeah.

Meko (12:32):
is one of the most beautiful things that the lines
did last year was like, continueto get him in space, continue to
get the ball in his hand whenhe's already got a head of steam
and then it's just, see ya.
So I'm going to take the oneagainst the commanders.
It's, it's one of the few brightspots from that game.
Um, And so, yeah, I'm going togo with that one.

Morgan Cannon (12:53):
And I

Jacob (12:53):
Yeah, that was right after the pick six,

Morgan Cannon (12:55):
Yep,

Jacob (12:55):
so that was when golf was out, Teddy Bridgewater is back
there.
You know, things are lookingkind of rough.

Morgan Cannon (13:00):
You have,

Jacob (13:01):
Quick turnaround from J Mo.

Morgan Cannon (13:02):
it was a weird,

Meko (13:03):
one.
Yeah, it was a quick momentwhere you're like, Oh, is Teddy
Bridgewater going to be thequarterback that it brings the
Lions back in this game?
And now golf was back out therelike the next series.
But still,

Morgan Cannon (13:13):
he was in the blue tent for a minute though.
Cause like we, like I knowJason, you can see down the
sideline.

Jason Harwood (13:18):
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.

Morgan Cannon (13:19):
we

Jason Harwood (13:20):
My wife has the binoculars.
She knows.
That's her job.
I mean she likes

Morgan Cannon (13:24):
me so

Jason Harwood (13:25):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (13:25):
yeah, you can see.
And so, yeah, he was in the tentfor a second though.
So that was nice to see himscore.
I was like, thank goodness, man.
Cause we needed a little, youknow, get right

Jason Harwood (13:34):
Yeah.
All right.
Jacob you're up.

Jacob (13:38):
All right.
Uh, so I'm going with theSeahawks game, the Amun Ra
touchdown pass to Jared Goff.
Another little trick play there.
Uh, A good throw by Amon Rodgersright over the linebacker.
Don't know that he meant to dothat on purpose, but it looked
that way.
And then golf with a good catch.
I mean, just a good play.

(13:59):
Monday night football, primetime and everything.
Like, it was just awesome.

Morgan Cannon (14:03):
off with the late hands, you know,

Jacob (14:06):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (14:06):
the hands late.
And it was overall like, causethat, that linebacker spaz Meko,
is that the game you went withme?

Meko (14:13):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (14:14):
Yeah,

Meko (14:14):
say, like, that was that

Morgan Cannon (14:16):
go

Meko (14:16):
Like, I predict there's going to be a lot of picks from
that game because there were somany.

Morgan Cannon (14:22):
big plays.

Meko (14:23):
plays from that game.

Morgan Cannon (14:24):
That's true.

Jacob (14:25):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (14:26):
That's a good point.

Jason Harwood (14:28):
Yeah, that was, that's when, yeah, we already
got two from that game and yeah,I, you know, not to give
anything away, but yeah, that'sprobably the most representative
game.
I think Jacob, you and I pickedearlier our favorite game of the
year.
And this was, I didn't go tothis one.
I wish I would have been at thisgame, but certainly I was
watching on TV and that, yeah, this was just a fun game all
around.

Meko (14:48):
This game

Jacob (14:48):
A lot of great moments.

Meko (14:49):
That

Morgan Cannon (14:50):
was,

Meko (14:50):
was like, I think that was what first black Jersey game.

Morgan Cannon (14:54):
you know, and ended up being a bar kicking,
you know, like by the end, likethey never really got close.
They were consistently down like7 like 17 points.
So that was nice.

Jason Harwood (15:08):
All right, Morgan, you're up.

Morgan Cannon (15:11):
All right.
So I am going to go with anotherJameson Williams touchdown.
But this one comes against theJacksonville Jaguars.
It's because of what he did whenhe crossed into

Jason Harwood (15:23):
Ah, yes.

Meko (15:25):
uh, yes.

Morgan Cannon (15:26):
I'm a, I'm a simple man.
If you pay homage to Marsha onLynch, I'm gonna love you.
And uh, yeah.
When he did that, I was like, this man is hilarious.
And I just so, yeah.
I'm gonna go with that one, bro.
That was, and that was the, he,he caught, it was a crosser.
If I'm not, I think it was likea trips crosser, like a concept
where you had, he was runningthe, drag against the grain.

(15:50):
He knew he scored by like the40,

Meko (15:56):
Cause he

Jacob (15:56):
Right.

Meko (15:56):
dogging it like pretty early in

Morgan Cannon (15:59):
25.

Meko (15:59):
GMO Yeah.
Like he's high stepping the waythere.
And then just for the, the dive, the grab, like it was, I knew he
was getting fine, like theminute he, the minute he jumped,
I was like, that's a fine.

Jacob (16:13):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (16:14):
He's honestly hilarious, man.
So

Jason Harwood (16:18):
NFL finds him, but they used it like as the
cover and their YouTube likehighlight package for that week.

Jacob (16:23):
Yeah.
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (16:34):
Yeah, I, yeah, it's funny when you mentioned
that, like he's hotdoggingaround the 40, him hotdogging is
still faster than like probably75 percent of the league, you
know, it just looks like he's,he's running slow, but he's,
just comparatively speaking.

Morgan Cannon (16:51):
sprint, effortless sprinter.
Like when, when Meko said thatearlier, like I'm a big fan of
just getting him the ball inspace, having a couple of those
installed every week becausethings happen.
Cause he is one of the fasterpeople on the planet.

Meko (17:06):
Yeah.
I think that was something thatwe were like specifically
banging, like the offense to domore of, uh, his rookie year,
his rookie year.
And I want to say like the earlyparts of, of, of year two was
just like, Hey, yeah, like let'sstop sending him on go routes.
Like you go back and you watchsome of the impressive stuff
that he did at Alabama.
It was a lot of.

(17:26):
Like crossing routes, and it wasa lot of slants and things like
that.
Um, and I think that's where JMOhas grown the most.
And I think, like, you continueto allow him to do those things
and you're just going tocontinue to see highlight after
highlight every time he getsthose kind of plays.

Jason Harwood (17:42):
Yeah, just get the ball in your playmaker's
hands and let them make a play.
And the thing that's made him bemore dangerous is that his hands
have improved.
You know, Jmos.
Able to make those catches veryconsistently and you could trust
them over the middle.
Cause if he doesn't catch those, right, those over the middle,
they bounce up and it ends up ina safety's hands.
You have to trust that it, thathe's going to catch it.

(18:04):
And, uh, he's definitely grownin that area.

Morgan Cannon (18:07):
That catch he had against Houston where he got
hard.
That looked

Jason Harwood (18:11):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (18:11):
uh, He said that too on the St.
Brown podcast.
He's like, that hurt.
I was like, bet it did, baby.
That looked like it hurt.
I

Jason Harwood (18:22):
By just what, when I was doing the highlight
thing and just checking out, Isaw that catch again and yeah, I
mean, he.
Catches it, it bounces out, here catches it, and then just
gets plastered.
it's tough.
Alright, I'm up.
I'm going So, like five Hook andLadder plays this year, right?
I'm going with the very firstone.

(18:44):
I'm going with the original.
Well, the original this season.
I'm going with the Arizona.
It was Week 3 Arizona.
Um, past Amun Ra, flips it overto Gibbs.
I liked it.
Lines were up 13 to 7 at thattime.
This was right before half.
We scored touchdowns.
So not only was it an awesomeplay to watch, it actually
really mattered in that game, scoring right before halftime.

(19:04):
So that, that's where I'm goingfor my first of my two picks
here.

Morgan Cannon (19:11):
like

Jacob (19:11):
Yeah, that was one of them.
The fantasy stats gives zerocatches, but 20 yards and one
receiving touchdown.

Jason Harwood (19:17):
Yeah.

Jacob (19:19):
No, that was a great play.

Meko (19:21):
Yeah, no, I think like, was the like, that was the play
that was the trick play thatlike kind of kicked off early in
the season where you're justlike, okay, they're just trying
stuff now like this type ofstuff you shouldn't be able to
do.
I think, um, We did an articlefor Pride of Detroit where we
kind of like listed the, likeour best plays or like we had to
pick our best play and I'mpretty sure I picked all the

(19:43):
hook and ladders.
I was like, I don't even wantto, I don't want to choose of
them.
Like they were

Jason Harwood (19:48):
Okay.
Okay.

Meko (19:55):
in Madden.
in all honesty, like, I don'tthink you could run five or
seven hook and ladder playsconsistently throughout a season
and get them all to convertevery single time.

Jason Harwood (20:07):
I know,

Morgan Cannon (20:08):
It's like

Jason Harwood (20:08):
you know, and

Morgan Cannon (20:09):
running them with like St.
Brown being the one who usuallyis like doing cause he's just
such a, people don't think like, but like ball handling is a
thing in football.
Like, you know, especiallyquarterbacks, like when you hear
coaches talk about ballhandling.
but yeah, St.
Brown's just such a wizard withthat stuff.
And then you just have who's aspark plug and this is a good

(20:30):
combo or Jameer, you know, whatever you want to

Jason Harwood (20:32):
yeah, I, I'm wondering,

Meko (20:35):
go ahead,

Jason Harwood (20:36):
go ahead and make go now.
Go ahead.

Meko (20:38):
I was just going to say, like, even still, though, like,
I said, I can't remember if itwas five or seven, like that
many is ridiculous.

Morgan Cannon (20:46):
no doubt.

Meko (20:46):
like, I think we, we, we've, we've

Jacob (20:49):
Silence.

Meko (21:11):
talk about this as a defense.

Jason Harwood (21:13):
Mm hmm.

Meko (21:15):
Amun Ra catches it on a curl or a slant.
There's the possibility thathe's going to pitch it and they
net like no team ever figured itout.
Like there's not a situationwhere they ran that play and it
didn't work.

Morgan Cannon (21:30):
Yeah,

Jason Harwood (21:30):
I know.

Morgan Cannon (21:30):
unnatural as a defender.
I know, like for me, it's been awhile since I played football,
but you know, you think aboutit, you're like, it's just not
something you're used to.
You're like, they're not goingto pitch that ball,

Jason Harwood (21:41):
Mm hmm.

Jacob (21:44):
That's why you get stuck in the mud like that.

Morgan Cannon (21:46):
Exactly.

Jacob (21:47):
It's just too fast.
You can't do it.

Morgan Cannon (21:48):
No, exactly.
Jacob, it happens so quickly.
And then before you know it,someone like Jameer or Jameson
is running the other way whenyou were just, there's no way

Jacob (21:56):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (21:57):
right,

Jacob (21:57):
right.

Morgan Cannon (21:58):
we'll get to the sideline real quick here.

Jason Harwood (22:00):
You know, it's a very copycat league.
So you wonder if next yearyou're going to see a little bit
more of, we saw in the Seahawksgame week four, the Seahawks ran
like a lateral play where theyit across the field.
Not, it wasn't, it didn't looklike a hook and ladder play.
I saw, I think of the, you know,I'm sure there was some
throughout the leagues.

(22:20):
I saw the Patriots run it too,but you know, it's a copycat
league.
The Lions were so successfulwith it.
You got to wonder if that'sgoing to happen again, but you
know.
You got to have some talentedpeople running it or it's going
to end up on the ground andyou're going to look real
stupid.

Morgan Cannon (22:38):
Yep.

Jacob (22:38):
That's the key.

Jason Harwood (22:41):
All right, I get to pick my next one.
I'm going to go with the firstdefensive play of this draft.
And I'm going back to week four.
I struggled between this and theKirby pick six, but I'm going
with the Kirby Joseph end zonepick versus Seattle.
know it didn't score atouchdown, but that was just a
pretty, pretty interception.

(23:01):
It was an awesome play on theball.
Um, I, I, I, that's what I'mgoing with.
So I'm going to get my defensiveplay.
I'm going to go with Kirby andthen zone pick.
They were all like end zonepicks early in the year, early
in the season.
Um, then he started, you know, picking them off during the
field, but, uh, I'm going toleave someone else to pick six.
Cause that, you know, if you'regonna pick your defensive play,

(23:21):
I'm sure that's on someone'slist, but I'm going to go with,
he high pointed that ball.
He looked like a receiver inthat, in that play.
I, I, I could watch that playover and over again.

Morgan Cannon (23:31):
One of those plays that makes you remember
why Kirby was originally areceiver at Illinois So because
he really does the ball skillsare crazy, man.
I yeah good pick That's a,that's a pretty one.

Jason Harwood (23:44):
I like, I like that play.
All right, Morgan, you're up.

Morgan Cannon (23:48):
I'm going to go Kirby monsoon pick, uh, against
the Packers.
Cause that was, that felt likethe death knell.
I was like, Oh, they're screwed.
You know, I was, uh, that wasone of the few games, you know,
me and Sarah just watching athome, cause that was Sunday
night, wasn't it?

Jason Harwood (24:04):
Uh, no, it was a four.
It was four o'clock.
No, that the Packers game was afour o'clock game.
Tom Brady called it cause thatwas branch got thrown out.
Tom Brady called it.
It was a four o'clock gamethough.

Morgan Cannon (24:16):
Yep.
Okay.
Yeah.
That, that's what, uh, I'm goingto go that one though, for the
Kirby, the Kirby pick six, thatwas a, that was a beauty that
felt like the death knell too, Iwas like, Oh yeah, these dudes
are done.

Jacob (24:27):
One of the few times that Kirby blitzes, like it's behind
the line of scrimmage and it'sjust perfect timing.

Jason Harwood (24:34):
Yeah.
Um, I remember Kirby said hescored the touchdown.
He didn't know what to do, doafterwards.
You know, he's, he was just soexcited.
He couldn't believe they pickedhim off right there.
And also, like you said, it wasa monsoon.
He gets to the sideline.
If you watch the replay, he likesteps really close.
Cause he does not want to fallat, you know, on that, on the
sideline there.

Morgan Cannon (24:54):
It was slippery, man.
You could even tell when he wascelebrating, he was trying not
to bust his, you know, what,

Jason Harwood (25:00):
Uh, yeah.
And that was a huge, like yousaid, the lines were up 10 to
three at that point.
There was like 43 seconds leftin the hangup.
So that was a huge, uh, hugeplay.

Morgan Cannon (25:10):
that was basically game, man.
Especially with the crappy, likethey didn't do any that's I wish
more people could go back andwatch this game before the
defense was just so injuredbecause they were putting the
straps to people, man.
Like the Packers didn't score.
It was a garbage time touchdownwhen they finally did score.

Jason Harwood (25:26):
Mm-hmm

Morgan Cannon (25:27):
is,

Jacob (25:27):
Right.

Morgan Cannon (25:28):
this is one of those games that was not close.
This was like a, actually like athorough, but whooping in a

Jason Harwood (25:33):
Yep.

Morgan Cannon (25:34):
on the

Jason Harwood (25:35):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (25:36):
so,

Jason Harwood (25:37):
Well, they, the golf wasn't gonna be able to
play outside.
Right.
It was rain.
That was the talking pointleading up to that game,

Morgan Cannon (25:43):
he was

Jason Harwood (25:43):
it looked quite the opposite.

Morgan Cannon (25:45):
he was dealing, man.
Yeah.
And that

Jason Harwood (25:47):
Mm-hmm

Morgan Cannon (25:47):
like, it was pissing rain.
Like I'm looking at this pictureof Kirby and like Dan's in the
background and Dan has his likehands in his pockets and he's
like, you know, what you'redoing when it's like a cold
rain, you're like, ah, I don'twant it to get down my neck,

Jacob (26:02):
That was the AG picture too, right?
With his glasses and it's justlike, how is he even seeing
anything?

Morgan Cannon (26:06):
bro as someone who wears glasses.
He wasn't seeing diddly.
I don't know why he didn't wearhis contacts that night

Jason Harwood (26:11):
Yeah.
He needed windshield wipers onhis, uh, glasses, that would
have been.

Morgan Cannon (26:16):
Seriously, that drives me crazy.
I don't know about you Meko.
when I have like when my glassesare dirty.
Hey,

Meko (26:22):
worst part of having

Morgan Cannon (26:24):
yeah I ain't doing this

Meko (26:26):
it's cold or when it's rainy, the worst time to have
glasses.

Jason Harwood (26:30):
what about COVID when you're wearing a mask and
then it would, like, go, go upunderneath your mask and then
just fog your glasses up?
That'd suck.

Morgan Cannon (26:38):
with a beard like in my masters like sits like
this

Jacob (26:42):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (26:42):
weird, but

Meko (26:45):
I'm with you.

Jason Harwood (26:47):
All right, Jacob, you're up.
Your third pick.

Jacob (26:51):
I'm going with the, uh, Commander's game, Sam LaPorta
with the diving touchdown in theend zone.
Jared Goff falling down underpressure, getting the ball out,
Sam LaPorta diving one handedcatch.
Just an amazing catch.
Something my kids still, like,uh, recreate now.

Jason Harwood (27:09):
Mm hmm.

Morgan Cannon (27:12):
when I was like, did he, I was excited, but I was
like, all right, let me see thereplay to see if he completed
the process.
Cause that

Jacob (27:18):
Right.

Morgan Cannon (27:20):
And I looked up on the Jumbotron and I was like,
Oh no, that was a catch thewhole way.
Like a

Jason Harwood (27:25):
Mm hmm.

Morgan Cannon (27:26):
I was like, Oh, this man is Sam LaPorta is so
saucy for a white tight end fromIowa.

Jacob (27:31):
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (27:32):
Yeah, yeah.

Morgan Cannon (27:33):
is.

Meko (27:33):
especially in a year like last year, where like he had a,
he had a really slow start tothe season to the point where,
like, and it wasn't necessarilylike his fault.
Right?
Like, it just like JMO was goingoff those, those first

Morgan Cannon (27:47):
He was banged up.
Laporta was banged up.
Yeah.

Meko (27:50):
LaPorta was banged up and it's just like, everybody else
was clicking.
And so it just like, man, like, when are they ever going to get
him involved?
And once he started likerolling, like somewhere Like in
the middle of the season, I wantto say like in the middle, but
like probably like four weeksinto the season and it was just
like, okay, there's Sam.

Jason Harwood (28:08):
Mhm.

Morgan Cannon (28:09):
He's a dog, man.
I love Laporta.
But yeah, that's a great pick,Jacob.
I honestly, that game feels likesuch a blur.

Jacob (28:16):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (28:18):
was the toughest one to go back and watch, but I
had to watch that Sam LaPortacatch.
Just, I mean.
Uh, golf breaking out.
I thought he was just, and I'mstill not convinced that he, he
wasn't partially throwing thatball away because where he threw
that, I mean, you could notcount on Sam Laporta making that
catch, but it was beautifulcatch.

Meko (28:37):
Yeah.
Yeah.
100%.

Jason Harwood (28:41):
All right, Meko, you get back to back picks here.
What you going for in your firstone?

Meko (28:45):
feeling pretty good.
Like I'm, I get nervous, youknow, having to like wait this
long to get back to my picks.
But once I get to pick back toback, it's like, okay, I'm, I'm
in a really good spot.
So I'm going to go ahead andtake my defensive pick.
Um, and I had a couple that Iactually had to choose from, but
I'm actually going to pick, uh,the Brian branch.
Pick in the end zone againstDallas.

(29:07):
This was such

Jason Harwood (29:08):
Okay.

Jacob (29:10):
was gonna get that.
That was my safety net.

Meko (29:13):
oh man, that

Jason Harwood (29:14):
joining us today, and we'll see you next time.

Meko (29:30):
is going to do, um, and to be

Jason Harwood (29:33):
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.

Meko (29:59):
in that play right there.

Jacob (30:01):
Unbelievable.
It's like, uh, I compared it tolike when you're playing Madden,
and you see that you got the guyopen, and as soon as you hit the
button, the computer just likeall of a sudden changes
direction and jumps it and picksit off.
Exactly what that play was like.
As soon as the ball left hishand, Branch was right on it.
It was just an amazing play.
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (30:18):
Yeah.

Meko (30:19):
see like defensive backs make plays like that often,
right?

Jason Harwood (30:22):
Um,

Meko (30:30):
like it, Dak made the proper read.
I, I feel like he still threw itat the proper time.
He just wasn't expecting Brianbranch to have the athleticism
to be able to stop in histracks.
And be able to like basicallybackpedal or dive backwards to
be able to make thatinterception like it's that's
that's so difficult to do whenyou're playing DB at that level.

Morgan Cannon (30:52):
When he did that, I was like, that's some Ed Reed
stuff, man.

Jacob (30:57):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (30:57):
quarterbacks, like I guarantee you when he
did, when he did that, thatPrescott went back to the
sideline.
It was like, man, this manbailed off of a cover too.
Like when he wasn't really, youknow what I mean?
Like just, just, it's somesuper, super duper instinctual
stuff.
And

Jacob (31:14):
Yeah,

Jason Harwood (31:21):
what you guys mentioned, but I mean, the game
was still in question.
I mean, it was very early and Ithink the Cowboys would have
taken the lead.
I think at that point early inthe game, I may end up being a
blowout out the end, but like,it's like plays like that, that
just shift the momentum.
If you believe in that type ofthing, uh, which I, I do, um,
and it, it was a, it was a hugeplay.

Meko (31:42):
And I think that was like the first of his two picks in
that game.
So I think

Jacob (31:46):
yeah,

Meko (31:46):
got him twice.

Morgan Cannon (31:48):
because he had

Jacob (31:48):
second one.
He almost brought it back.

Morgan Cannon (31:50):
dude, he was so mad when he got tackled.
I remember

Jacob (31:52):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (31:53):
that on them.
He like, cause that guy made areally good tackle, to be honest
with you.
And it was like, right at thegoal line, man.
BMBB was hurt.
He thought he had

Jason Harwood (32:01):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (32:02):
he had a little pig six or at the end there.

Jason Harwood (32:04):
Yeah.
Kirby had one in that game too,but Kirby's was just an easy
one.
Cooper rush just threw it up andit was like the easiest KJ ever
had.

Meko (32:12):
exactly.

Jason Harwood (32:14):
All right, Meko, back to back.
So you're on number two, which, what you got here.

Meko (32:19):
So I'm, I'm, I'm sure I'm probably going to annoy some
people with this one, but I'mgoing to go with Jameer Gibbs,
70 yard run against the Titans.
That

Morgan Cannon (32:26):
Man.

Meko (32:28):
man, I got to get a Gibbs pick in here.
And we we've already talkedabout the Titans game, right?
Like it wasn't a ton of offense, but I believe that was a play.
I think that was like the firstplay out of half.
And the

Jason Harwood (32:40):
Okay.
very much.

Meko (33:01):
you know, Monty kind of went down and, and, and he
really put on a show like thoselast couple of weeks, that play
in itself just shows why it'simportant.
The lines felt so comfortabledrafting him where they drafted
him, like

Jason Harwood (33:13):
Silence.
Silence.

Morgan Cannon (33:38):
to hit R two that hard, you know what I'm saying?
and he

Jacob (33:41):
Do you know what DBA was Morgan?

Morgan Cannon (33:44):
uh, it was a, she was it Qure?

Jacob (33:47):
It was quandary.

Morgan Cannon (33:47):
Oh

Meko (33:48):
yeah,

Jacob (33:49):
It's

Meko (33:49):
it was well.

Jacob (33:49):
like a bad angle.
Oh,

Morgan Cannon (33:52):
yeah, that was a,

Jason Harwood (33:54):
tries to undercut Quadra comes up, tries to
undercut like behind thecornerback and Yeah, Gibbs is
already gone

Jacob (34:00):
you just don't know how fast he is until he's already by
you.
It's just too late.

Morgan Cannon (34:03):
And he turned it on and you could see here,
whoops, here.

Meko (34:07):
Yeah, the thing about Jameer in those situations
because he he's done this somany times, right?
Obviously like 70 yards is isthe longest but he's done this
on so many different plays whereLike he doesn't need to like he
doesn't need like a toss or needto be out in space Like he will
run in between the guard in thecenter of the guard in the
tackle and his ability to notbreak stride Right, like his

(34:31):
ability to literally like wejust people's talk about this in
football about being able to putyour foot in the ground and get
north and south Jameer does it

Jacob (34:40):
Okay.

Meko (34:41):
as as anyone I've ever seen in the NFL, right?
The only player that I can thinkof that probably did it maybe
better is Jamal Charles.
Who like, the Lions drafted him, like that's who I compare Jameer
to because he did it soeffortlessly and That's what
makes,

Jacob (35:01):
Right,

Meko (35:25):
situation.

Jason Harwood (35:30):
Yeah, it was, uh, I liked, uh, someone did like
the Sonic thing with the, the,you know, he picked up

Jacob (35:36):
coins,

Jason Harwood (35:36):
it is

Jacob (35:37):
the rings,

Jason Harwood (35:38):
and it was like during the game, like these
people that could edit videosare insane.
Yeah.
It was like the perfect video.
And I know there's one shot oflike behind Jameer where it's a
whole line of Titans just kindof running behind, you know, you
just see like seven Titansrunning in the same line and
Gibbs is, you know, five yardsbeyond them, but it's a great
pick Meko.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (35:58):
That's one of

Jacob (35:58):
right, that was a great play.

Morgan Cannon (35:59):
It's coming towards our end zone and, uh,
like early, like as soon as helike quandary took that angle.
I was like, he's gone.
Um, yeah, he's just so fast, man.
so fast.
Now I think that was the gameLaPorta was a mic'd up to, and
he was like, good golly, he'sfast or something like that.
I

Jacob (36:19):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (36:19):
he is.
He said some

Jacob (36:22):
Nice.

Morgan Cannon (36:22):
stuff, but yeah, he

Meko (36:23):
is the most Iowa

Morgan Cannon (36:25):
exactly.

Meko (36:26):
I think I've ever heard in my life.

Morgan Cannon (36:27):
I started dying.
I was like, that's pretty good.
Good golly.
He's fast.
It's

Jason Harwood (36:31):
Morgan, you, you mentioned it, it's so much fun
when they're running righttowards you when you're at the
stadium, right?
You got that angle and you cansee that.
I love it.

Morgan Cannon (36:38):
And you can like, when it's Jamo or Jameer too,
like early on, you know, it's ascore typically, you know,
you're like, Oh, here we go.
Come on.
You know?

Jason Harwood (36:47):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yep.
Scream at the top of your lungs.
I love it.
All right, Jacob, up.
This is your fourth

Jacob (36:54):
All right.
I didn't want to have to pickmultiple from the same game, but
I got to go with JMO's 82 yardtouchdown against the Bears.
Uh, you know, just it was 13 andnothing already at the end of
the first quarter.
It's early second quarter.
When that happens, you know, thedrive's just starting off.

(37:15):
Jamo is just so fast.
Another person then, you know, makes it look really
effortlessly just to beat twodefensive backs back there,
stumbles just a little bit andthen just, you know, recovers
and he's gone.
I think that was the longestplay we had this year.
Right?

Jason Harwood (37:29):
Yep.
Yeah.

Meko (37:33):
think the

Jason Harwood (37:34):
I.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.

Morgan Cannon (38:00):
hmm.

Meko (38:04):
he did I was jumping out of my seat when I saw him do it
because it's just like that'swhere you want him to be and if
he's able to do thatconsistently like the lions are
gonna have a really tough timepaying everybody but Jamo's
really going to command money.

Morgan Cannon (38:22):
Yeah, if he if he has a whole year no missing
games, no nothing where he he'sgonna Gonna have to back the
brink strut.
They you know, they can't keeptwo.
It's just gonna see gonna wantto have two receivers making,
you know, 30 ish aav like, youknow annually?

Jacob (38:40):
It's a tough conversation,

Morgan Cannon (38:42):
Yeah, we're

Jason Harwood (38:44):
I,

Morgan Cannon (38:45):
because if we are that means the lions 2025 though

Jacob (38:50):
right,

Morgan Cannon (38:50):
maybe one a game in february

Jason Harwood (38:53):
yeah.

Meko (38:53):
what another tough conversation to have though,
Jacob is, is explaining to yourfans why you didn't pay this
man.

Jacob (38:59):
right,

Morgan Cannon (39:00):
No doubt.

Meko (39:01):
that's a, that's a really tough conversation to have
because As much as people wantto point to his maturity,

Jason Harwood (39:08):
Yeah.

Jacob (39:17):
right,

Morgan Cannon (39:18):
Yeah.
W.
I hear you.
That's a good point.
Yep.

Jacob (39:27):
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (39:33):
it like 40, 50 yards golf's got to wind up a
little bit.
So, you know, it's going deep.
Like, you know, like just theway he's positioned, his body is
going deep.
You're like, all right, JMO hasgot to be out there.
And yeah, I, that's the one towatch it back again.
I'm like, I love this.
Cause I know what's coming up,you know, a little bit, a little
bit spoiler action.

Meko (39:51):
That is one of the most like exciting and most
terrifying things that happenedin the same time.
Because when

Jason Harwood (39:56):
Mm hmm.
Mm

Meko (39:57):
up, either like, Oh, this is going to be so good.
Or this is going to be soterrible.

Jason Harwood (40:03):
hmm.

Meko (40:03):
plays.
I can't remember which game itwas where he, I think it was,
was it the Texans game where hearm punted?
And I was so sure.
I knew, I knew who he wasthrowing.
You're telling me like JMO'sgotta be down there.
And when he him and I was justlike, this is, this is the flip
side of those plays.
You see him wind up.
You're like, Oh, that's a deepshot to JMO.

(40:25):
And then you're just like, andhe overthrew him.

Jason Harwood (40:28):
Did the same

Jacob (40:28):
That was right after we got the interception though,
too.
That's what made the Texans onemore painful is like, okay, you
know, we got the ball back.
Let's see what we can do.
Chuck's at deep.

Morgan Cannon (40:37):
Yep.

Jason Harwood (40:38):
you know, you know, yeah, like, as I did a
week 17 versus Vikings from hisown end zone, like chucked it up
and, you know, yeah, all right,Morgan, what attitude play do
you got for us this time?
Yes.
Oh, man.

Morgan Cannon (40:59):
going to get a Jameer pick into at the Vikings
45 yard touchdown when hesnatched Cam Bynum's soul.
From his chest.
He like got him.
Cam Bynum was coming downhill inthe alley Jameer gave him a
little okey doke You know putthat right leg in the ground and
yeah, I think that's the secondtime he snatched Bynum's soul

(41:20):
He's his father.

Jacob (41:21):
Yes.
Yeah.

Meko (41:23):
say, like, Cam Bynum hates to see Jamiro Gibbs coming.
Like, he just, he has to hatethat, man.

Morgan Cannon (41:29):
I'm like, oh, I'm about to look foolish on tape
again.
Here we go You know No, 100

Jacob (41:35):
reel.

Meko (41:35):
walking to the sideline.
Like, when you, if, if I was CamBynum, I'm start walking to the
sideline.
If he gets past the secondlevel, and it's me and him, I'm
just gonna turn and walk to thesideline.
Like, no.
I'm sorry.

Jason Harwood (41:48):
Silence.

Morgan Cannon (41:55):
their preferences.
Personally, I'd rather get ranover like, Oh, I do what I
could.
You know what I mean?

Jacob (42:00):
At least you made contact instead of just

Meko (42:02):
should have done

Jacob (42:03):
taking your ankles like snatchers on the ground watching
him run by you.
That's gotta just be the worst,

Morgan Cannon (42:09):
That's all

Jacob (42:09):
especially the second time.

Meko (42:11):
Transcription Outsourcing,

Morgan Cannon (42:16):
in that game too.
So yeah, I wanted to get thatone in, had to get a Jameer pick
in there.

Jason Harwood (42:20):
Well, that game, do you say is a big touchdown?
We were down 10, nothing.
So that was the very firstmatchup Vikings were undefeated
at this point.
We were down 10, nothing.
We had done like a fake punt, you know, and we were fourth and
seven, we did a fake punt.
was a huge fan of that call.
I remember he said I would havedone that call.
No, it was a terror.

(42:40):
We didn't, I didn't agree withthat call, but yeah, that was a
huge.
Got us into that game.
I just changed a little bit ofthe momentum.

Morgan Cannon (42:47):
Yeah, that was when we, they rattled off like
three scores in a row, threepossessions, three tuds.
So yeah, that was nice.
That got us

Jacob (42:54):
right?

Jason Harwood (42:56):
All right.
I get, uh, this is my last, thisis, Oh no, I got two picks,
right?
Yeah.
So I'm going 14 the Packers.
It's fourth down lines were down10 to seven at this point, they
throw it to Gibbs on a Texasroute.
I'm channeling Eric Schlitt onthis one.

(43:17):
Cause I know that, you know, that's what he would have loved.
Uh, but I, you know, beingfourth down, he just.
It just looks so automatic and Iloved it.
So, and I don't have a Gibbsplay yet.
I don't, I kind of do the hookand ladder, but I'm going with
this one.
I really liked this play.
It was very meaningful in thegame.
Um, but I just, the play looksso pretty at that's what I'm
going to pick from my first one.

Morgan Cannon (43:38):
Didn't they motion Jameer into there was
like some wrinkle in that thatGaren.
I remember going through thiswith Meko because there was like
some wrinkle that that like, like guaranteed to golf.
Like, okay, yep, I got man.
And then because he wasn't, Ithink it was, uh, I don't know
who was on him, um, for greenBay.
But yeah, that was barbecuechicken, man.

(43:59):
Like you can't, could you Jameer

Meko (44:01):
I think

Morgan Cannon (44:01):
so fast.

Meko (44:02):
was

Morgan Cannon (44:03):
I was quite Walker.
You're right.
I think it was too.
Yeah,

Jacob (44:06):
yeah.

Morgan Cannon (44:06):
that's

Jacob (44:07):
better.

Morgan Cannon (44:07):
good athlete too.
But yeah, sorry, Jameer on aTexas route.
Like it's almost not guardable.

Jason Harwood (44:15):
Yeah.

Jacob (44:15):
was fourth down too.

Jason Harwood (44:17):
That's, that's why I loved it.
It was

Jacob (44:18):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (44:19):
Good

Jason Harwood (44:19):
Uh, I think we scored multiple fourth down, uh,
touchdowns in that game.
Um, you know, it's one thingthat.
You know, Dan Campbell playsJedi mind tricks on Matt LeFleur
and Matt LeFleur just alwaysgoes conservative and Campbell
just makes the calls and he getsit.
All right, Meko, I got ourMorgan.

(44:40):
I have one play.
I'm a, I'm afraid this is goingto be your play that you were,

Jacob (44:46):
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (44:46):
you know, banking on, but I'm taking it.
Uh, this is the demo carried bythe offensive line with the
Cardinals in week three.
Was

Jacob (44:54):
Ah.

Jason Harwood (44:54):
play?

Jacob (44:54):
Silence.

Jason Harwood (45:04):
basically, what you said that you had something
in your back pocket, so good.
I'm glad I didn't take yourplay, but you know, talk about,
you know, when we talk aboutplays that, you know,
encapsulate your team and justlike express your team.
This is it.
Demo gets the ball.
He's already a tough runner.
He gets picked up in theoffensive line, pushes them for
eight more yards.
So he had run eight yards tothat play.

(45:25):
Cardinals pick them up and ouroffensive line just pushes them
another a yard.
And I, Dimo said he was smilingthe whole way.
Uh,

Morgan Cannon (45:32):
His face was

Jason Harwood (45:32):
great play.

Morgan Cannon (45:33):
when they like, when you, when they zoomed into
his face, when he was like atthe, you know, he was up there
too, man, he's only like five,10.
He's not

Jason Harwood (45:40):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (45:41):
So yeah, I thought that was hilarious.
Cause I've never been a running

Jacob (45:44):
Just getting a ride.

Morgan Cannon (45:45):
yeah, just like, Ooh, you know, that's hilarious.
I like that.

Jason Harwood (45:51):
this, uh, you know, just fun play.
I know it's just 16 yards, but Ilove that play.

Morgan Cannon (45:55):
Oh, yeah, it's

Jason Harwood (45:55):
All right, Morgan.
What's your play in your backpocket that you've been holding
on to?

Morgan Cannon (46:02):
If you don't know Meko and I were big brian branch
people on that channel So evenwhen he does the bad, I still
love him still got to rock withhim.
So i'm going with the bb Quoteunquote unnecessary roughness,
whatever he got fine

Jacob (46:15):
Okay.

Morgan Cannon (46:16):
And the double bird, I was like, he's just,
he's such a quiet, like nice kidfor him to hit the double birds.
If you see it all the timearound the city now, like I'll
be like, I'll be in Meyer andthere'll be like a middle aged
woman wearing like a Brianbranch, double bird shirt.
And

Jacob (46:33):
The t shirt, yeah.

Morgan Cannon (46:34):
I love it.
So, yeah.
And then he was so funny afterhe was like.
Yeah, I apologize.
You know, that wasn't me.
Uh, I'm like, listen, man, youdon't got to apologize.
That's it.
Then everyone was posting it.
Like the whole defense wasposting.

Jason Harwood (46:48):
Yeah.

Jacob (46:48):
Right.

Meko (46:49):
shirt out of it.

Morgan Cannon (46:49):
Yeah.

Meko (46:50):
It's, it's

Morgan Cannon (46:50):
Oh yeah.
That, that bear one.
Yeah.
Meko does have a dope shirt fromthe, I need to get something
like that with that on it, to behonest, cause I love that
moment.
Uh, but yeah, I'm gonna go withthe BB double birds.

Jason Harwood (47:02):
Nice.

Jacob (47:03):
good.
It's a bullcrap, uh, ejection,right?

Jason Harwood (47:08):
Yes.

Meko (47:09):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (47:10):
Yeah, dude, he kills me.
It

Jason Harwood (47:14):
That, that's so funny.
I had Tom Brady that did notagree with that call either.
He didn't, he didn't want to seehim ejected.
And that was scary in that gametoo.
Cause you're like, Oh man, our,you know, probably our best
defender at that time, causeHutch was hurt, you know, and
then they took him out.
That

Morgan Cannon (47:30):
It was close game, you know, still

Jason Harwood (47:31):
yeah.

Morgan Cannon (47:32):
before we started, you know, putting that
belt, you know, what, so.

Jason Harwood (47:35):
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (47:36):
mad, man.
I love Brian branch and he'ssuch a good kid to like, there's
no like precedent.
That's why I was so bothered byit.
I just like that felt veryreactionary for me.

Meko (47:47):
Mm

Morgan Cannon (47:47):
So

Jason Harwood (47:48):
Very four o'clock prime time or not prime time,
but for, you know, four o'clocknational game type feel like,
oh, we got them.
We got them, you know, make thiscall.

Morgan Cannon (47:57):
Lambo too, man, y'all.
That made me mad.

Jacob (48:01):
Yeah.
Right.
Dumb.

Morgan Cannon (48:04):
It's okay, ball.
Don't lie.

Jason Harwood (48:06):
Yeah,

Jacob (48:06):
Yeah, right.

Meko (48:07):
Cause they, they, they beat the crap out of them the
rest

Morgan Cannon (48:10):
Really did.
They didn't

Jason Harwood (48:11):
I know.
Yep.
Yeah.

Jacob (48:21):
It was a joy to watch.

Morgan Cannon (48:22):
It was.

Jason Harwood (48:24):
All right, Jacob, your last your last play here.

Jacob (48:27):
Alright, my last play, gotta go with the defense on
this one.
I was counting on that BrianBranch picking off Dak to be
there, Meko stole it from me,so, uh, I'm gonna go with
another Brian Branch pick.
Uh, this one is week 7 against,uh, the Vikings, when he picked
off Sam Darnold.

Morgan Cannon (48:44):
When he

Jacob (48:45):
You know, that was a close game, that was another,
right, right, another

Jason Harwood (49:06):
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (49:06):
was a

Jason Harwood (49:07):
this is a beautiful interception.

Meko (49:08):
That was the other pick I had.
So like of the, that was the, yeah, that was the other play I
had where like if someone tookthe BB Dallas pick, I was like,
oh, I'm just going to go withthe Minnesota one.

Morgan Cannon (49:19):
That was so beautiful.
And that, and that freeze frametoo.
Like I need to get somethinglike that of him signing, you
know, signing something becausethat was such a cold, like
picture when he pointed.
Cause that was the one he highpointed, right?

Jason Harwood (49:32):
Uh, he kind of dives a little bit like, um,
yeah, I mean, he got, I don't,it wasn't above his head.
He was the side.
Yeah.

Morgan Cannon (49:41):
okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I think I know what you'retalking about, but yeah, that
was a, yeah.
I just like watching Brianbranch play football, man.
Let's just, just a

Jason Harwood (49:49):
cool thing about that play was like in the flat,
Aaron Jones was that got to getan automatic first down if he'd
have thrown it and he tries tothrow it and Brian branches.
Uh, ate his lunches.
It was great.
All right, Meko, round us out.
Last, last play.
What, what you picking?
Yeah.

(50:17):
The

Meko (50:26):
got called back due to penalty But it was the hook and
ladder to penne

Jacob (50:31):
Yeah.

Meko (50:32):
it and I think it technically he would have scored
But I think it got called backdue to penalty

Morgan Cannon (50:37):
I did your man of culture for that pick beautiful
pick.

Jacob (50:41):
Right.

Meko (50:43):
like That play right there just showed Panay is the
greatest tackle in football.
Like, I don't care.

Morgan Cannon (50:51):
Yep.

Meko (50:52):
other tackle is doing that.
A hook and ladder your righttackle?
Like, nobody's doing that.

Morgan Cannon (50:59):
I remember that was that moment.
Ben Johnson kind of went viralbecause they called that
penalty.
And he was looking at the reflike, you know,

Jacob (51:06):
Yeah.

Meko (51:07):
I can't even remember what the penalty was.
Was it like, illegal

Morgan Cannon (51:11):
Illegal

Jason Harwood (51:11):
it's illegal man downfield.
Right.
Yeah,

Meko (51:35):
of the NFL.
Like, forget whatever elsehappened in the NFL, tackle
taking a hook and ladder forsix.

Morgan Cannon (51:44):
That's also the moment I knew when I was like,
okay, we're out here clowningwith the Cowboys.
Like, we're

Jacob (51:48):
Yeah,

Meko (51:50):
Oh,

Morgan Cannon (51:50):
we're just not here being stupid.

Meko (51:51):
was at a, was at an all time high.

Morgan Cannon (51:55):
Like, I think, I don't know, I don't know who was
calling that game, but they werelike, Okay, the lion's clearly
here trying to rub the cowboy'snose in it a little bit.
And I'm like, well, whatever.
Maybe.

Meko (52:05):
I mean, and?

Morgan Cannon (52:08):
Yeah, exactly.
You're welcome.

Meko (52:10):
like, I don't know, that, that play was, that play was
just so perfectly timed.
Um, I hope we get to see itagain at

Morgan Cannon (52:18):
want Pineda

Jacob (52:19):
yeah.
Yeah,

Morgan Cannon (52:26):
Yeah, someone I hate.

Jason Harwood (52:28):
Well, they play Dallas this year in Detroit, so
we might, you know, be able tosee it.
I, uh, they were, it was aroundthat time because this is, that
game was out of hand at thatpoint and people were like, be
running those trick plays.
Now you're wasting them all.
Well, Ben Johnson showed that wegot them throughout the whole
year.
So it doesn't matter.

Morgan Cannon (52:45):
That was not for the game.
He's like, the well is deep.
I

Jason Harwood (52:48):
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, that's awesome.
I

Meko (52:53):
also the play that like kind of sparked the Pena Sewell
offensive player of the yearconversation,

Morgan Cannon (53:00):
We had been trying to stoke that fire.

Meko (53:02):
do everything.

Morgan Cannon (53:03):
He's him.
He's the best.

Jason Harwood (53:07):
like that.
Our offensive lineman made, uh,made this list twice.
Yeah,

Jacob (53:13):
right.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (53:13):
two different plays and one of them was a one
yard loss and the other onedidn't count.

Meko (53:20):
Still a

Jason Harwood (53:21):
that's all.
no, it's awesome.
So, um, let's review quickly.
We'll review, uh, everyone'splays here.
We'll start with, uh, just startwith you, Meko.
you picked, you're just like me,you picked, uh, four of your
plays came from two games.
So, you had two from week eightand, uh, two from week six.
So, you had the Titans Kleeframe and, uh, return touchdown.

(53:45):
playoff, the JMO and around, um,then he did the Brian branch
interception week.
Eight was Jameer Gibbs, 70 yardtouch.
And then the week your last onewas the play.
We just discussed the PanaySewell hook and ladder play.
uh, your first pick was stumblebum.
Then you went back, you went toSeattle week for the golf TD
reception.
What was the name of that play?

(54:06):
What does, I can't remember whatthey named that.

Jacob (54:10):
I forget, it did have a name,

Jason Harwood (54:12):
Yeah.
I can't remember what it was,but your first two plays had
names, Jacob.
So,

Jacob (54:16):
right?

Jason Harwood (54:18):
So, you know, someone that picked that play,
you should probably know thename, but here,

Jacob (54:21):
should, right?

Jason Harwood (54:22):
Yeah, exactly.
Uh, your third pick was thedivisional playoffs, the San
LaPorta, then you went a week16, the JMO 82 yarder.
Yeah.
Alcatraz.

Jacob (54:33):
says Alcatraz.
Okay.

Jason Harwood (54:49):
world, 64 yard JMO week 11, week nine, you went
with, uh, Kirby Joseph, the peakpick six seven Gibbs 45 yard run
that up to that point, that washis longest run of his career.
He'd later got the 70 yard or,but.
a pretty run and then, uh, youknow, in true self, Morgan goes

(55:10):
with an attitude pick for hisfifth pick double birds.
Um,

Jacob (55:15):
Okay.

Jason Harwood (55:45):
week 14, uh, Texas route, Gibbs touchdown
versus Packers.
And then, uh, the last pick thatI picked was the demo getting
carried by his offensive line.
So this was a fun way of justrevisiting this list.
Um, think let's start out withMeko.
You kind of mentioned that therewas some plays that, you know,

(56:06):
you wanted to pick.
What were those two plays thatkind of were the honorable
mentions?

Meko (56:11):
Yeah, my, my two honorable mentions that I had that I was
kind of choosing between nearthe end.
One of them was the DavidMontgomery touchdown pass to
LaPorta,

Jacob (56:21):
Yeah,

Meko (56:22):
which again, I, I really wanted to kind of get a demo
and, you know, a LaPorta pick inthere, but just I couldn't
ignore Penasual.
I just couldn't do it.
And then the second pick I hadwas the, uh, the flea flick
flicker in the Dallas game alsoto LaPorta as well.

Jason Harwood (56:41):
Yeah, that was a nice play.

Morgan Cannon (56:43):
Beautiful.

Jacob (56:44):
right,

Jason Harwood (56:45):
Morgan, did you have any, uh, almost mixed miss,
uh, plays that, uh, you wantedto talk about?
I

Morgan Cannon (56:53):
play, like game, the game winner and over time
against the Rams for demo.
Like when we ran the ball eighttimes in a row, I thought that
was amazing.
And then the Kirby pick againstthe Rams too, was also huge.
That took points off the board.
And that was a tight game.
And he baited Stafford into thattoo.
That was another incrediblecatch.
Kirby, this team's so

Jacob (57:13):
right,

Morgan Cannon (57:15):
Is this September yet?
It's March

Jason Harwood (57:17):
know,

Meko (57:18):
right?

Jacob (57:18):
yeah,

Jason Harwood (57:19):
I know, I know.

Morgan Cannon (57:21):
It's

Jason Harwood (57:22):
least we got some free agency stuff coming up and
we'll have a little bit of newstuff to talk about.

Morgan Cannon (57:27):
Exactly.
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (57:31):
list?

Jacob (57:32):
yeah, um, nobody chose the hook and ladder to jam on
the 49ers game.
I had that one pretty high onthere.
That was a good play.
But then, uh, I'm in Ross scoreda touchdown against the Packers.
It was a fourth and goal.
It's a nice throw by golf, anice catch.
That was a good play.
And then, uh,

Jason Harwood (57:49):
after that, right?
That was

Jacob (57:50):
Yeah.
Right, right.

Meko (57:51):
Yep.

Jacob (57:52):
And then the other two, I have Dan Skipper's touchdown
shots out to the lineman, youknow, actually getting it done

Morgan Cannon (57:58):
Yep.

Jacob (57:59):
and then Jay hurtle against the Bears

Jason Harwood (58:01):
Oh, yes,

Meko (58:02):
That one

Jacob (58:02):
where he cleared that guy.
Right.

Morgan Cannon (58:04):
hilarious.

Jason Harwood (58:06):
I if he wouldn't have clipped his ankle like the
defender wouldn't have clippedhis ankle He'd have kept running
and that would have been an likean all time play.

Jacob (58:14):
Yeah.
Right.

Morgan Cannon (58:15):
No doubt.
Scoring

Jason Harwood (58:17):
son

Morgan Cannon (58:18):
crazy.

Jason Harwood (58:19):
Yeah, my son for christmas you could buy like
photos of plays or whatever andwe bought him the jmo hurdle So
he has it up in his room and itit looks it looks so sweet.

Morgan Cannon (58:29):
That's awesome.

Jason Harwood (58:30):
Uh, a couple plays that I I um had on my list
that did get picked I Week 15golf scrambled past the Tim
Patrick out in the flat.
That was the Buffalo game.
I really liked that, that play.
Um, Patrick stuck out at the endzone, you know, and just anytime
golf does a little bit ofscrambling action, you don't get

(58:52):
to see it that often.
And when it works out, I loveseeing that.
Um, the JMO 70 yarder, no onepicked that with week four
versus the Seahawks.
And that was another one wherehe looked.
You know, he'd gone.
And, uh, what I really liked onthat, you know, uh, what I
remember is Calvin Johnson wasgot the pride of, or gotten, uh,
the honor, whatever they callit, the

Meko (59:12):
the

Morgan Cannon (59:12):
Proud of the Lions,

Jason Harwood (59:13):
ring of honor.
Yeah.
And, uh, went up and got apenalty on it, but spiked
through the field goal post, just like, uh, Calvin Johnson
did.
So

Jacob (59:22):
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (59:22):
really liked that one.
So, I mean, there was otherplays throughout the season.
I mean, that's how deep the wellwas.
There was so many plays that wecould have picked, but I, I
don't know if we could pick awinner with this list.
I feels, uh, I don't know if we,you know, could do that.
Is

Jacob (59:38):
I think we can all agree with Jason is fourth place.
That's, you know, thank

Jason Harwood (59:41):
yeah,

Meko (59:41):
gonna say, unfortunately, Jason, I do think you probably
came in last.

Jason Harwood (59:46):
yeah, that's fine.

Jacob (59:47):
you ko.

Morgan Cannon (59:48):
it on

Jason Harwood (59:49):
That's fine.

Morgan Cannon (59:50):
it on social media this week and see let
people vote on it.

Jason Harwood (59:53):
Yeah, we'll

Jacob (59:53):
Right?

Jason Harwood (59:54):
I'll put, you guys

Jacob (59:55):
Twitter.

Jason Harwood (59:55):
out there.
don't care.
They're, they're my plays.
This is my play, so I, I likeit.
I mean, at least,

Morgan Cannon (01:00:01):
where one of our best players got ejected.
You know what I mean?

Jason Harwood (01:00:04):
and Meko picked a play that didn't even count, so
keep talking, Meko.

Meko (01:00:08):
and it was

Jason Harwood (01:00:08):
It was, no.

Jacob (01:00:10):
Yeah.

Jason Harwood (01:00:10):
was great.
No, nope.
And that's, that's fine.
So everyone's backing up Jacob.
I don't like it.
And three against one, this isnot fair.
Um, you know, this has been fun.
I'm glad that we got to be ableto, uh, do this and finally
worked out.
Morgan Meko, what are you guysworking on over at Pride of
Detroit?

Morgan Cannon (01:00:30):
me go.

Meko (01:00:30):
it's, I was gonna say, man, it's Combine week, so, uh
I'm obviously doing our, we havea new, you know, NFL draft
prospect series that, um, whereI'm basically doing some solo
film studies, looking at some ofthe draft prospects in this
year's draft.
We are already done three.
Uh, we talked about my green,uh, the 1 that is uploading
tomorrow is a film study ofDonovan Jackson, the left guard

(01:00:53):
out of Ohio state.
Um, and we've also looked atJaden Higgins, the wide receiver
out of Iowa state.
So got a couple more down the.
That are, that are kind of linedup.
I'm really looking forward totalking about Shamar Stewart,
the defensive end out of TexasA& M.
He is a big man, big, big man.

Jacob (01:01:13):
You're sticking with potential people that you think
the lions are going to be in aposition to draft then, right?

Meko (01:01:18):
Yeah.
Trying to stick within that, that vein.
And so again, trying to get asmany of those done before the
draft.
Um, and then, like I said, withit being combine week, we'll
probably do a video recappingthe combine talking about any
prospects that really stood out,um, you know, during, during the
combine week, because obviouslythat's going to be a pretty big
talking point.

Jason Harwood (01:01:39):
And Morgan, do you write in any articles over
there?

Morgan Cannon (01:01:42):
Yeah, I've been helping Eric with the combine
preview series where we, youknow, highlight, you know, we
talk about what the lions havetypically looked for in the
past, what the, you know, undergrad homes and some players
that we could, you know, peoplecan keep an eye on and, you
know, that kind of thing.
So.
We're doing that.
Uh, the combine will be thisweek.
Uh, I'm excited because I thinkwe're gonna get some more

(01:02:03):
information about, you know,John Morton, you know, we'll
hear him talk.
We'll hear Shepherd speak withthe media who's electric every
single time he talks to themedia.
Um, so no, I'm excited, man.
I, it's, it's going to be a cooloff season because the lions are
in a position like even justeven more so than last year
where it's just tweaking littlethings to try to get this right

(01:02:25):
to where they're playing thatgame in February.
So, to look forward to.

Jason Harwood (01:02:31):
Yep.
Uh, I, the off season is goingto be interesting.
Last year was, going into, itwas going to be suit, like
everyone was on the same page, super positive.
I, I already see what the milesGarrett stuff that there's some
that are like wanting to go inall now.
And, you know, people are flyingoff the handle.
So it's.

(01:02:51):
I try to keep a level head and Ithink, you know, all four of us
do about this, uh, and it'sinteresting to just to see how
some, you know, people are,we're 15 and two last year and
some people feel like we need todo crazy stuff.

Morgan Cannon (01:03:07):
doubt, man.
I argued with a couple of themlast week.

Jason Harwood (01:03:10):
I know.

Jacob (01:03:11):
We all saw it.

Jason Harwood (01:03:12):
Yeah, my text to you was Sunday morning, Morgan.
Do you plan on getting any moreTwitter fights?
Cause I want to get my popcornready.

Morgan Cannon (01:03:21):
I was like, man, he made me and Jeremy mad.
If you make Jeremy mad, youmessed up.

Jacob (01:03:26):
Oh, wow.

Morgan Cannon (01:03:27):
You know what I'm saying?
Cause he's chill.
I'm not so chill.
Jeremy is.

Jason Harwood (01:03:33):
Say it.
So at the, I feel like Morgan'sgoing to be the guy that gets in
the middle and holds you back.
Like, is he that kind of guy?
Like, Hey, more, you know, thenyou're the one that wants to
fight.
No, I'm saying Meko over here isyour, your

Jacob (01:03:45):

He's a

Meko (01:03:49):
I'm, I'm typically the, the,

Morgan Cannon (01:03:51):
calmer one.

Meko (01:03:52):
the two on

Jason Harwood (01:03:53):
yeah,

Meko (01:03:53):
YouTube side of things.
So, um,

Morgan Cannon (01:03:56):
Very much so.
But he'll let me ride though.
He's like, oh, Morgan's justdoing his thing.
You know?
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, definitely not.

Meko (01:04:05):
letting Morgan just go off, you, you are, you deserved
it.
Like it's going to suck.
It's a

Jason Harwood (01:04:11):
like it.

Meko (01:04:12):
