Speaker 2 (01:05):
Well about that weekend, sports fans, That's what it's all about.
Good afternoon Daily taking with you here Sean Brace and
Sam Ostry from the score. It's a big one. We
got ourselves, Cinnati. It it all comes down to this two
teams remaining, of course, national championship that will be discussed
(01:26):
every which way over these next few hours on this program.
Big big weekend in sports, Sam as you just heard,
of course, Florida with the big time dub over Auburn
down there in San Antonio. All oys on that matchup,
getting the party started on Saturday at about six nine pm.
Employ to that deliver of course, talking about delivering, we're
(01:48):
talking about the fight and it's taking two of three
against the LA Dodgers, handing show hay in that overpaid
ball club from lost head Kid their first two loss.
This is the season that was fun and we got
a lot going on as far as the golf world
is concerned. And let's not forget about the NBA. Pretty big,
(02:08):
massive week in the NBA. Massive week, but pretty big
result last night for the people that want a little
storyliner two to raise up and I think we got
that with the Lakers last night and there went over
Oklahoma City. But Sam, great to have you on this
National Championship Monday. How we been weekend?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
My weekend was good. It's great to be back with you.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
It's a packed weekend and weekend sports like this is
the best time of year. I'm not the biggest golf guy,
like casual golf guy, but a Master's week wait, an
incredible weekend. I'm definitely not a hockey guy. Yeah play
the Masters music. Oh yeah, hello friends, yes.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Oh yeah. I can't forget about the hockey because I'm
not the biggest hockey guy. But like I was, that's
pretty cool that a Vetskan broke the all time score
goalscorer record. So packed weekend in sports we got a
Natty Championship tonight. Things are heating up in the NBA.
That West racist crazy. We're going to talk about it all. Yes,
let's get to it. Of course, you can find us
on social streaming on every outlet possible, So go ahead
(03:06):
and give us a follow, subscribe and tell a friend. Oh,
by the way, iHeartRadio has a wonderful new app. You
can set a preset. You could set these presets and
I'll tell you what it reminds you and you come
back a little bit more. So, I'd love if you
would put the Gambler on your presets. We'll talk a
little bit more about that throughout the course of the
week as well. But of course, as I said, let's
get it started big one over the weekend. You just
(03:29):
heard the final call there, Curtsey of the Florida Gators
Radio network. I'm not sure if that lovely talented young
reporter who's making an unbelievable name for herself is part
of that crew, serves whatever.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Job she wants, all right, doesn't have to fill out
any applications.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
We are going to get in some minutia conversation, because
there was a lot of it over the weekend, including
the the Dream not being able to celebrate with Houston
out there. Oh my goodness. Anyways, Florida and Auburn got
the party started at six pm on Saturday. Finals score
seventy nine seventy three. Where do we start with this one?
Other than Walter Clayton, HUNI yeah, bad man Clayton is
(04:11):
matched up against card Well. He likes this.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Matchup against the big man, blows by him down the
light side of the lane. And I don't contested fingerwol
for two seventy one sixty eight.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
All I know is that dude is so smooth and fast,
so fast with the rock in his hands, and he
gets downhill in a hurry.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
But he's got some curry in him from the shooting perspective.
We talked about that heave he had against Texas Tech
where he gets the ball and runs it out to
the three point line. Doesn't even he had a bunch
of those in the game against Auburn. Sam. This dude
is making an unbelievable name for himself. And I know
you had a take on the timeline earlier today, but
I do believe, like, if you really want to get
(04:54):
down to it, somebody can improve their draft stock. I'm
not gonna get too crazy like some people were on
the timeline. But you saw on Saturday night the mock
drafts twenty five at the highest you know from as
far as him being selected twenty fifth overall, there were
a few there were two of them that had him
mock draft in the second round. Oh no, no, no, no,
(05:17):
no no. If he has himself a game, no matter what,
I still think he's going in the first round. But
if he has himself a game tonight, Sam, watch out.
Like we could be talking about a top A ten,
eleven or twelve.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
We're talking about a guy who wasn't projected first or
second round. You not even forgot the first round, first
or second round at the start of this tournament. Hees
fanded their mock draft March thirteenth, before this tournament started
that he wasn't projecting the first or second round. How
he's played himself into a first rounder. I think, like
I don't think he's the lottery guy necessarily in his
(05:49):
NBA projection versus what he's doing in college basketball is
or two different things. But he's definitely played himself into
the first round, probably towards the late first round, which
is pretty remarkable in this March run. I don't think
when a couple of months removed in the draft approaches,
I think teams distance themselves from March crazy March runs.
But what he's doing and playing himself into a first
rounder is remarkable and like this Walter Clayton junior, he
(06:11):
might be one of the best tough shot.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Makers in college basketball history.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
I mean, you talk about the all time great shot makers, shooters, whatever.
A guy that might come to mind as is someone
like Jimmer for Dead, who just went on an incredible
run at BYU and an awesome March rung.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
But that was range.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
That was distance that Jimmer for debt he could pull
up from forty feet from just in front of half
court and drill threes.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
We're not talking about Walter Clayton's range necessarily.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
We're talking about an incredible, difficult shot maker. I mean
these shots that he's been drilling against Texas Tech and
he really goes back to the SEC tournament and SEC
play all season, but especially against Texas Tech in this
tournament and then against Auburn. These are off balanced shots.
These are contested shots. I mean, not giving him an
inch of room. It's not like these are open shots
and he's just drilling them. What you see like guys
(06:58):
like Jamal Murray or Steph who were constantly off balance
and making off balance contested shots. This is one of
the most impressive shot making feats I've seen in March
in a long time.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I agree, He's definitely made a huge name for himself.
And as I said, I just think this game could
be really important. Of course, putting the team perspective to
the side for just one second, like this dude continues
to open up eyes and a hand in the air.
He's becoming in a household name right, Like I had
no idea that he was. He was with Iona and
(07:29):
Ricky Patino up there.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Patina one of him badly to transfer to Saint John's
for a reason, for a good reason. Wow, And look
he ended up at Florida probably the right goal. Yeah,
what happens if he did it up with Saint John's.
So they're probably playing the Yeah, they're probably playing. He
is the real damn deal. But he's gonna have to
do a lot tonight.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Again from the Auburn perspective, Your big takeaway there seventy
nine seventy three was our final score kind of got
a little it got a little out of hand in
the final couple of minutes and Auburn made a little
bit of a ball game out of it. But for
the most part, that was Florida's game. And in the
first half, you know, Florida didn't have an answer and
the size down low, and I just figured, if you
(08:12):
continue to pound the rock down low, you're going to
have success in that second half. But the I guess
a strength for Florida is to clutch, like we know
what's going what's coming in the second half, and it's
easier said than done. But they did it again where
it was like all right, right out to shoot in
the second half. Soon as that ball got inbounded, it
(08:34):
started going on a run and next thing you know,
they took the lead, and it felt like they never
looked back. I think they were going back and forth
a little bit there, but ultimately they were the better
team in that second half. And I don't know if
I was surprised, but I thought that Auburn was gonna
be a little bit closer. I thought it was gonna
be a little bit tighter at the at the end
of the game. I thought Auburn was gonna win. I
thought Auburn looked like the better team for most of
(08:55):
that first tenf going into half time. And the story
for me is, I do want to get to Florida's
clutch stats and their clutch performance because they've been so
resilient all year, especially with a coach that hadn't won
an nca tournament game going into this season.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
So that's one thing. The story for me of this
game was Jani Broom and he just completely no showed,
completely disappeared in the second half. Three points in the
second half, didn't score a single point after fifteen minutes
left in the second half. When your best player, I mean,
Auburn is great guards, we know their guard depth. When
your best player, the guy you run it, you run
a lot through, just completely disappears and no shows. And
(09:29):
you know, he it looked like his elbow is bothering him.
Who knows how much that really contributed to the performance
or not, but he just no showed right like he was.
He was pretty bad in that second half. And when
your best player, the guy you run a lot through,
isnt performing and it isn't really showing up at all,
and there's a couple of rebounds too. He looked like
he didn't even have his normal jump and energy and
physicality on the boards, where Florida just out toughed.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Him in that second half. And so it was a
Jani Broom thing for me.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
When your best player doesn't show up in the second half,
you're gonna have a tough time winning the game.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
And Florida just dominating the second half.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
They won't one that half, forty one to twenty seven,
and now Florida's playing for a national championship.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yeah, and good game, really good game. Of course, back
and forth, it did stay under the total. Florida covered
the two and a half and you know, look, it
got into the point where it was like, man, you
know that they're going to play some defense and it
will tighten up. And if you go through a two
to three to four minute stretch where it's just it's
(10:26):
difficult to get a basket and things slow down just
a little bit, it's going to be really tough to
get to that one sixty mark. That was my poa. Yeah,
and it played out.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
It played out, and this Florida team, and this is
what's so intriguing about this matchup tonight because Houston and
Florida have both been so clutch, but this Florida team
is beyond clutch. True shooting percentage, they shoot seventy eight
percent in the clutch, that's number one in the entire country.
So they're taking incredibly good, efficient shots and making them
at a high rate. And then the turnover percentage is
also number one in the country. So when you offensively
(10:55):
you're not turning the bowl over and you're shooting efficient
shots and you're making them at a high rate, it's
really hard to beat a team like that when they're
that good in the clutch.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
And look, that speaks to the resiliency. Resiliency as a group.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
They have great guards, Elijah Martin, will Richard and of
course Walter Clayton, great bigs and one of a great
moves speaking of their bigs by Todd Golden. One of
the adjustments he made was benching Alex Condon in that
first half for a long stretch because he could not
handle Jani Broom initially in that first half and he
was getting outmatched.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
In the post.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
You bench, you bench him, take him out, and that
kind of opened up Florida a lot. And then they
kind of made a run in that second half, so
that was a great adjustment from them. But when they're
that clutch, and they're that great in terms of their
efficiency on offense in the clutch, it's almost impossibly a
team like that.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah, all right, we got sam Oski from the score.
We're hanging out. We got Luke Arcandy. He's gonna join
us at three thirty. Of course we got to talk
about them fightings and what took place over the weekend.
Taking two to three against LA, great series coming up
against We can.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Talk baseball, but you do realize there was another game
also in just one game on Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Did you know that.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Also the Masters?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
The Masters going on this weekend?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
This week looks golf.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Wait, I'm sorry, what were you saying, but I was
trying to tell you golf hockey. I get if you
were distracted baseball, big leave from the Phills, But there
was another game that tipped off right after that Florida
Auburn game. Have you heard of the Duke Blue Devils?
Have you heard of Cooper Flag? Have you heard of
John Shire? Are you sure there was another game? Pretty sure?
I may have to check the calendar, but I'm pretty sure,
(12:30):
pretty sure I must have missed that. Yeah, I mean,
no one was really talking about it. So what really happened?
What happened in that game? Honestly, nothing interesting. Like Duke
was up six with a minute left, so you can
probably you probably know what happened, right, if Duke's up
six with a minute left.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Oh, they win that game?
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah, of course, one hundred times out of one hundred,
or ninety nine times out of one hundred, and we
witnessed the one, and we witnessed the one.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
What in the hell we don't give it? Thank you JJ. Yeah,
what happened?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Man?
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I just you know, for those that maybe don't know,
I had a future on Duke, and I felt Duke
was going to win the national championship. And Duke was
up by fourteen. Yep, they were the better team. Yep,
they had a better player. They did. And then all
(13:22):
of a sudden, everything just unraveled.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Yeah, and it sure did.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I was watching that game and there were people in
the house that had total seventy for Duke, and it
was like fifty eight fifty nine. It was eleven points,
that's where it was. But they had to get to
seventy and a half. So whatever they Anyways, I'm like
seveny they got eleven eleven points. I think it was
(13:48):
like ten minutes to go. I'm not lying to you.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
I think it was had one field goal in the
less ten and a half minutes, so I think it.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Was ten minutes to go, needed eleven points. And I'm like, yeah,
you look good. I'm good great. Yeah, I'm like you
look great. It looks like it's gonna be a winner.
They finished with sixty seven yepes.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
The lowest point total since January twenty fifth, when wake
Forest held them to sixty three.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Somehow, no one else had done that.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
And look, it was a matchup between the best defense
versus the best offense. Ah, and the best defense prevailed.
I'll tell you so Saturday, Saturday is my birthday. Oh,
happy birthday, thank you. So I had some friends from
out of town and we were going out. So there
was just like I share a birthday with this girl
who I know. So it was a whole big event
at this rented out place. Of course, TV is the
Final Four, so watching that game all on the TV,
(14:36):
I couldn't apreciate.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Thanks.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Yeah, I should have told you to.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Pull I should have I should. We didn't even know
it was your birthday.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
My birthday. I'm not a big birthday honestly, I really not.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
I should have got a big birthday.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Tell you why you shouldn't be celebrated for just turning
an age, right, You should be celebrated when you accomplished something.
I'm really anti my birthday, my friendthdays come around once a.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Year, exactly.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
You just turned it another age, you got a little older.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Don't celebrate birthdays. It means you're dead. Yeah, like you
gotta celebrate birthdays, but I'm just not.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Like everyone has them. It happens once a year. It's nothing.
You didn't accomplish anything. You just turned another age and
another day came around. So I'm anti birthday. So I
didn't really want to do something. But this this girl
had an event, so I said, you can do the
event if it's just your birthday. But some friends came,
so it was a small thing. We watched the Final four.
That's why I'm anti birthdays. I didn't really want people
to know. I didn't need to publicize it, but.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
I would have loved for you to be there regardless.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
So we were watching and I couldn't really like conceptualize
what was going on in real time, Like it was.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Like, how did this happen? How did you possibly blow this?
Speaker 4 (15:42):
And then I watched it back the next morning again
and again and again, and I still have no idea
how to do collapse one of the worst collapses we've
seen in college basketball. I mean, up nine with two
minutes ago, up six with a minute left. It was
an avalanche of hell. Just everything that could go wrong
(16:02):
did go wrong. From blowbys, blown inbound passes when they
weren't even properly.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
The screen quality was horrible, they weren't.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Cutting to get open, missed box outs, guys coming in
from the weak side, just just Houston killing them, all
those offensive rebounds, that officiating, missed free throws, Everything that
went wrong for Duke did go wrong, just an all
time collapse.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
It you can't allow me to have happiness, you know,
because I had Florida and that was a tough battle,
and I was going up against half the people in
our gambler gang, and it's just like man, all right,
and then all of a sudden, double digits Duke, and
it's like, yes, this is happening, I'm seeing it. The
vision is there boom. My knew Duke was gonna get
(16:49):
this job done. And you know it's not over yet,
but they're going to win and they're going to be
playing in a national championship. And I predicted that. And oh,
by the way, dude, I fired on first half full
time for Florida and Auburn had Auburn at the half
that was plus five point fifty. I had a straight
the exact matchup of plus two thirty five for Florida
(17:09):
versus Duke in the National Championship.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
I had everything was on that. Everything was on Duke.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
I had the twelve to one with Duke, which was
fifty bucks or six hundred there, six to one, Like
I had so much invested in just Duke, and it
fell apart, and it just it didn't feel real Like
I'm sitting on the couch and and going, they're going
to win this game. They're not covering the four and
a half. I put that to this. I didn't really care.
I was invested a little bit and of the spread,
(17:35):
but everything else was already there. Yeah, and I'm like,
there's no way they're going to lose this game. And
the next thing, you know, the foul happens. He goes
down there and makes both sixty four percent free throw shooter.
He makes both of them in the Alamodon' I'm just
like all right, and then all of a sudden, like
you dropped that play. Cooper has made that play one
(17:56):
hundred times this year and he comes up short there.
It was a disaster and it happened fast. Now, there
were people, specifically you, that were saying, dude, the thing
about Shire and Golden, they haven't played in a Final
four before. It's like Samson has Like you can say
(18:17):
that you don't need to make a big deal about that,
but if you need somebody to make a big player
or call something at the right time, you have to
give the advantage to Samson. You have to.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Yeah, and look, John Shire's big mistake was keeping Seon
Jones or excuse me, se On James as the inbounder.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
He was so nervous inbounding the ball.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
And you saw a couple the whole team look nervous.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Yeah they did, but you saw a couple of times
it was just like, if if your inbounder is nervous,
that's really the most important play. Or just anyone who
you feel confident, well, once you see that he's nervous,
you got to pull him from it being the inbounder.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
He cannot inbound again because it's just he he was.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
He was shaking out there as the inbounder, and that's
the most important person in inbound is the inbounder.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
So I didn't like that from Shire.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
It wasn't like a poorly coached game, but you got
to give credit to Houston's resiliency and their toughness, their grit,
the resiliency. Duke collapsed for sure with the miss free throws,
poor box outs, bad calls, all that stuff, but Houston's
defense just.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Kept coming and coming and coming.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Duke did not make a field goal in the last
ten or had one field goal in the last ten
and a half minutes. Yep, Like that is so impressive
against the number one offense in the country. You know
what the most impressive thing about Houston was in terms
of their coaching and in that final minute a minute ago,
Houston's down six, they don't fail. They're playing that defensi
(19:43):
possession all out. That is so rare from a coach.
You'll always see coaches found that situation because you're down
six to the mental left you pretty much no shot.
You're gonna found that situation. You're gonna extend the game
by stopping the clock, and you're gonna force the other
team to make free throws. Kids making free throws A
lot of times that goes wrong. Kelvin Samson said, I'm
not doing that. We're playing this out. We are confident.
(20:04):
We have seen Duke. We see how tight they are
right now. Their offense is not in the flow. We're
playing this defensive possession out. We're getting stops, we're getting scores,
and we're gonna come out with a win.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
And that's what they did.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
And that is bowls of steel coaching by Kevin Sampson
and he deserves all the credit for that. So I
was really impressed with just I mean, they've shown it
all year, but the resiliency, their toughness, and just their defense.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
How about the technical foul on the kid that reached
me And I was like, that's it, Yeah, there it is,
that's the game. And I felt bad for the kid.
It was only I thought for a second that it
was more than just what they had though, because it
was only one extra free throw, they already had the
possession so I thought, you got two shots and the possession,
so it wasn't that big of a deal if they
(20:45):
could put them up by seven, if I'm not mistaken,
And I was just like, that's it, that's game, and
I felt bad for the kid. I'm like, Duke's gonna win,
let's go. And then all of a sudden, it just
it just happened. It was just over the blink of
a next time, Duke is going home. They don't even win,
they don't advance, they don't cover the number. John Shire
(21:06):
is like, I'm proud of my guys. Bull. I just
was losing my mind.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I think gambling is so hard.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
It is so.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Hard it is, and I think everyone after seeing Duke
Alabama was all over Duke, like this team is just
too talented, like three top ten picks that they have,
and they're too talented to lose. And I think a
lot what a lot of us miscalculated was the freshman
and the inexperience, which completely showed up. And I I
miscalculated because what I was saying was was this freshman
(21:37):
class is so good and so mature that they don't
play like freshmen, that they haven't in that Alabama game.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
They sure didn't play like freshmen.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
But in a situation like that, you know, Cooper Flagg,
he wasn't bad down the stretch. He was amazing at first, Yeah,
he was he players, But then you get in the clutch. Yeah,
and then that's that's when your poms get a little
sweatier and you're like, all right, do you have experience
in these moments?
Speaker 3 (21:58):
We have a flag conk. Those guys didn't.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
But I will say the veteran that we talk about
all the time is Tyre's proctor, and it's like, all right,
you have the veteran presence with him. He goes to
the line, sixty eight percent free throw shooter, noting amazing,
goes to line clank on a front end of a
one on one. That's the guy you're supposed to rely on.
But nothing, Nothing went Duke's way.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
The big man non existent the whole night. He didn't
pull down a rebound. Yeah, malatively end offensive. He didn't
pull down a How are you that big of a
human being and you're not able to pull down a rebound?
Like it transitions smoothly over to tonight's game, and we're
we're definitely gonna be all over that one again right now,
DraftKings is Florida point favorite one forty and a half
(22:41):
as our total. Ind here just more focused on that
just disaster of an ending for Duke. Here's head coach
John Shire and what exactly went wrong? Q and A.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
Well, it's hard to process still, And you know, I
thought our guys did an incredible job the whole game,
and you know, I thought we had some good look
didn't finish. You have to give Houston a ton of credit.
And then still even with that, you know we have
the lead and with under a minute ago, and I
couldn't be more proud. I'm not I'm not about to
(23:12):
hang our head. I mean, this is part of it.
You gotta you gotta handle the wins, and you got
to handle the losses too. And in a moment like this,
you know we're this close, and you know we felt
we were the best team. The best team tonight was Houston.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
I get it. He's not gonna be able to say
anything different after that, but man, that's that's just a tough,
tough way to go out. And you remember all those
Duke players were there former like that's just coach k
was there was the first NA tournament game. Everybody was
there that represented Duke and now you got to go
face them on what just exactly and how that played out.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
It's one of those games that could stay with John
Shire for a long time, like this is such a
collapse and just a pathetic collapse where where it's you
can't really only look at the coach. I don't again,
I don't think John Shire made egregious mistakes other than
the keeping.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
James is the inbatder.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
But it's still one of those losses where if we're
like three, four, five years down the line and he
hasn't won a national championship, and look, it's really hard
to win a national championship. The coach K won five
of them, and John Shire has been phenomenal. I mean
everything you could have wanted in a guy replacing the
guy in coach K. So it's not it's not any
diss on him before five six years down the line
(24:25):
and he hasn't won anything huge as really in a
national title and maybe doesn't even go to the final four. Again,
you know you're looking at the where things are gonna
could start heating up for him, which he's a phenomenal coach.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
I don't expect that to happen.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
I think they'll respond and they have a great freshman
class coming in and Duke will always be able to reload.
But this could be one of those things where it's like,
is John Shire this guy that just can't get it
done in the biggest moments, choking some of these moments away.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Everything is on the table at this point in time. Well,
I do want to say this, from the doom and
gloom to the fact that yo one a final four.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Yeah for all you.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
People out there, and they were so negative about the tournament,
what a final four. Both of those games delivered and
I took one on the chin in a bad way.
Forget the cinderellas I was those Miller Lites were going
down really easy. At the end of the night on
Saturday night, I was so mad, so upset, and just
(25:22):
I didn't really have anything energy wise. It just was
like so deflated as what just took place.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
If you hadn't broke your sober streak, Oh, that would
have made me. That would have that would have been
the night that would just push you to the edge.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
That would have got me right back at the table.
All right, Well again we got ourselves a natty tonight.
We'll talk a little bit later about the game itself.
Break it down. How confident are you in your selection
Samford tonight's game?
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Pretty confident?
Speaker 4 (25:48):
But look, I mean I was on Auburn and Duke,
so I'm really one of my confident.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
But I thinks is gonna win the games. I thought
Houston Duke was the finals.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
I thought that WL of that game was gonna win it,
and I expected to be Duke. Look, it's one half
point spread for a reason. It's gonna be a really
close matchup two incredibly clutch teams that have just been
phenomenal in the final five minutes of games.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
So I think it's gonna be a back.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
And forth, electric finish, and that's what we get, and
that's what we deserve.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
All Right. We'll talk more about that game coming up
a little bit later in the show, but let's get
it over to base a ball. Arcade's gonna join us
on the other side. As the Phills handed the Dodgers
two out of three losses, there first time all season
that the Dodgers lost a game, and it was a
(26:36):
fun series, just a you know, it's such a long, long, long,
long season. But when you get these little patches, you
got to enjoy them. And I thought Cistins Bank Park
was rocking. Of course, Friday was a fun game with
Apple TV. We'll talk a little bit more about that
broadcast and then finding a way to win a game
where a bunch of runs were scored yesterday. Not everything
is all positive though, as always with the Phillies. But
(26:57):
when you win two of three against the best team
in base well, you're not gonna hear me saying a
negative word today. That's for damn sure. Luke Rcaney might though,
he's gonna join us on the other side. We'll find
out his thoughts about the fightings. Little MLB catchup and
the Daily Ticket rolls on. Sam Ostri from the Score
with me full a show, don't go anywhere more off.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
This spring is in the air and it's time to
swing for the fences. Our MLB coverage is bringing heat
all season long.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Everybody moves up ninety B.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Be sure to catch Luke Rcaney and Sean Brace on
the Daily Ticket. Only one place that covers all the action,
It's the Gambler.
