Philadelphia is Fox Sports Radio The Gambler.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Wow, I'm not gonna lie to you. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I don't lie to you guys on this show. I'm
always honest. I like I'm juiced. I'm firing up for
the NFL Draft.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I love it. It's going to consume me. I'm all
about it.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
But as I told Kolby earlier, and he was spot
on with his assessment, it doesn't mean as much when
your team is good and when you win the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
That's where we're at.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Nights like Knights like tomorrow, build Knights like the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
That is factual, Mark Hembrid Junior.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
But bottom line is, what are the Eagles going to
do tomorrow at thirty? Where are they trading up to
twenty five? Am I supposed to get excited over that?
You know how, He's probably gonna package something to move back.
I kid would that being said? I am a draft.
I love I love the draft. I love talking the
draft with you, I love talking to draft with everybody
from the Gambler gang.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
But this year specifically Bro the Deuicers are going.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I just heard the NFL music. I'm excited, I'm fired up.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
But it's taken till now for me to really hit
the gas pedal on this. Like, eh, different strokes, different seasons,
that's all.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
It just went from six to midnight for me here
in that music. Yeah, I mean it takes you back
a couple months where I'm ready for some football. But
if anything's a solid for me, it's nights like tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
And what did the Eagles do when they were at
thirty one in twenty twenty two, They went out, they
got Nolan Smith, who then became an absolute pillar adults
that goes and wins the Super Bowl two years later.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
So nights like tomorrow will determine if we can win
the Super Bowl and you know next year, the year
after and the year after that, and if we can
add guys like Leane Johnson and Nolan Smith and you know,
you get Cooper Degene in the second round. So I
think that there's plenty of opportunity for the Eagles to
add pieces to make this run even bigger. And I'd

(02:11):
actually argue with this window that the Eagles had, we
have with Obviously, you draft Quinnyon, you draft Jaalen Carter,
you draft Cooperjeen Nolan Smith, You've got Jalen On offense,
Davante uh. You have a core of guys that we
expect to be here for five more years and we
expect to compete for these next five years. But we

(02:33):
did lose a lot of Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Makai Tupton,
Chauncey Gardner, Johnson types. The way you keep these eras
humming and they don't die out is you keep adding
and you keep making good draft picks. And that's what
how he's been able to do to kind of keep
this run going. So here's the hoping he can kind
of keep doing it. I'm pumped, even though I do

(02:55):
think it's a bad draft class.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
It's a you know, look, it's you know, I can't
compare it to other draft classes because I think we're
probably in the same space.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I know, you can go a little bit deeper into that, but.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
You know, like after the pick twelve, like the lottery picks,
I think then we're in that no man's land for
a lot of us. Maybe it was a little deeper.
You saw guys like Ceedee Lamb. You know, Jefferson drafted
a little bit late in the teams. I don't know
if we're going to see type of those players drafted
specifically this year. So maybe that's something that I could
eat on that one. But ultimately, like the top ten,

(03:28):
I'm really really fascinated by the quarterbacks. I'm really fascinated
by the tight ends. Ashton Genty is an incredible storyline
at this point in time. Some of these bad franchises
like what are they going to do? So there is
big time storylines. But yeah, you know, first top ten,
I'm all in. I'm curious to know and what's how
this is gonna play out. Let's start with Ashton Genty

(03:50):
because when they're smoke, there's fire. This is the time
of the the NFL Draft season, albeit one day away here,
where I think we can start to connect the dots
and what's real and what's not. There's still gonna be
a lot of dumb stuff that is being put out there.
Teams are going to be trying to, you know, fool
you into possibly thinking a player that they're after, whatever
it may be. But you're starting to see a lot

(04:11):
of these NFL insiders come to the table now saying Nope,
this is what I'm hearing, this is what I'm thinking.
You know, I saw Peter Scheger put his out this morning,
and he was one of the first ones. Albeit you
were saying this yesterday Ashton Genty to the JAG as
a matter of fact, two days ago, if I'm not mistaken,
But now it seems like that could be the case. Also,
there are people out there saying that potentially the Giants

(04:35):
could trade their draft pick at number three overall, and
therefore I think a team would want to move up
because they can get Ashton Genty. Do you think I'm
a little over the top? Is he as good as advertised?
Should teams be viewing him as that piece? Or do
we stand on a Genty conversation right now?

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Mark to me, he's even better than advertised. I'm not
the kind of guy who gets scared to a about
running backs. I was saying, I thought Saquon went way
too high when he got drafted. Second, I thought Bijon
went way too high when he got drafted eighth. Jamior
Gibbs thought he went too high when he went twelfth.

(05:13):
I I always cringe a lot of the time, and
I think I'm guilty of it sometimes as well. When
we draft experts love to call guys generational. We love
to say, oh, well, this guy's a generational prospect at
that position. And there was a lot of that with
Bjon Robbers Jean. There was a big time and I
pushed back against that. I was I did Jon Robinson

(05:34):
drank twenty fifth overall.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Mark I talked to one of the very few times
in my life I've had an opportunity to speak to
an NFL real scout. He was scouting the Southwest. If
I'm not mistaken, because obviously Bjon with the Texas, he
was the Eagle Southwest scout.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
There's only six of them on the team.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
And he said he was and he's been doing it
for six or seven years, maybe a little bit longer
than that, I believe, And he said he was the
best prospect he's ever scouted, he's ever laid eyes on.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Yeah, And there was a lot of that. Yeah, there
was a lot of people saying that. And he went
He went eighth, and some people thought he should have
went higher. I remember, I think where the Eagles were
that year, where we were drafting, was that I think
that might have been the year we were we were
thirteen and we traded, or that might have been the
Jordan Davis here. I'd have to go back and look,
I'm bad at connecting players to other players in certain drafts,

(06:21):
sometimes at different positions. But it's I pushed back against
that at the time because in my head I was like,
I think that there's possibility for a much better running
back prospect than this down the line, who hits every
box and you're not projecting past catching, you're not projecting

(06:41):
past protection. And here we are, like I am the
one who pushes back against the generational tag a lot.
Ashton gen Z is why the generational tag exists. He
reminds me of guys like Maurice Jones, Drew Ladanian, Tomlinson,
like guys who I grew up on. And his size,
I've never seen someone move the way he does, break

(07:04):
tackles the way he does. He had, obviously we all know,
second place for the Heisman this year at an unbelievable season.
I think he looking down the line, I think we
will look back on that as one of the great
robberies in the history of individual awards. But he had
three hundred and seventy five carries for five hundred ninety
five yards and twenty nine touchdowns, and he had twenty

(07:24):
three catches. But if you combine the two, it's not
like this is a one year wonder and this is
something where he just popped up and had this huge year.
Let's take the two years previous to that, twenty twenty
two and twenty twenty three. He had two less carries
combined over those two years than he did in twenty
twenty four. He would have had two one hundred and
sixty five yards with twenty one touchdowns and sixty one

(07:46):
catches over those two years. So he showed his first
couple of years and even kind of higher proclivity to
catch the ball out of the backfield. This is and
goo and look at it. When he played Penn State,
had a couple pass protection reps against Abdul Carter where
he didn't get you know, stood up and held. He's
five to eight and he's held his own against Admiel
Carter in the backfield. This is a guy who when

(08:08):
I think he steps in the league, I think he's
immediately the third best running back in the NFL. And
Derrick Henry like and by the way, I wanted to
say this, like Bijon, I probably was too low on him,
to be honest, Like I had him twenty fifth overall,
he went eighth. He's probably a top five running back. Now.
Is he generational the way that I thinks people made
him out to be? Not yet? Maybe you know, next

(08:30):
year with Pennix, maybe he explodes and becomes that. But
I think Genti's the type of guy who I think
he's if he's drafted to any of the teams that
should take a look at him, New England at four,
Jacksonville at five, Vegas at six. Maybe Chicago moves up
from ten, maybe Dallas moves up from twelve. Any of
those teams take him. He's a top five pick in

(08:51):
Fantasy next year. No offends or buts maybe in conversation
to be the number one overall pick and fans.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Really that number one overall.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
That's how I feel. That's probably, you know what, it's
probably a stretch. We probably probably need to see the
catches to be number one of them. I do think
top five, though, I do think he'll be drafted right
with a guy like Bijon Robinson, who will be drafted
right around that top five. Saquon probably goes first next year,
even he's a little bit of an anomaly in terms
of hell he didn't have seventy catches last year or

(09:24):
something like that. It's like a Christian McCaffrey, you imagine
as your usual first kind of pick there. But my
dog is terrorizing me right now as I try to
talk about the draft here. But I think gent's every
bit as special as everybody's making him out to be.
I think there's a ton of teams that should be
desperate to take him up at the top. Chicago and

(09:45):
Dallas are two teams that trading up for him. I
don't know if it's the smart play. A couple of
years ago, I think I would have scoffed the trading
up for a running back. Now, this guy is so special.
He's the only guy who I think really become like
the best player in the world at his position out
of the draft.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
All right, we do have other things going on in
our lives right now, specifically a baseball team that would
it would be nice for them to find a way
to win a game up there and get away with
the dub and head to Chicago. Have get a day
off tomorrow, enjoy a nice uh you know what? He
got the beef out there. You know, I know the
deep dish is really just a big, you know, a

(10:26):
visitor type thing as far as Chicago is concerned. But
unfortunately the Phillies just coughed up the lead. It is
now tied again at three apiece. Pete Alonzo with a
double or yeah double, that scored the run there against
Jordan Romano.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Romano? What's that free call?

Speaker 5 (10:46):
Bring in Romano? Everyone loved that. Everyone thought, you know,
that could go great.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
So here we are all tied up.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Biento sat the dish for the Mets one out and
it is the bottom of the tent.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Will keep you up the data that one. I am
talking NFL draft Mark Henry Junior, though, what's up?

Speaker 5 (11:03):
Real quick? I will say me and you were both
were both before the year, and I think last postseason
I had Fianto's and fantasy last year watched him terrorize us.
We both thought that guy was going to be a
superstar next ten years we had to deal with and
he was going to kill us. He has been terrible
this year and watch as I say that he's going
to hit a walk off home run here, that's how

(11:25):
it works. But I've been shocked because he was like
kind of the main reason I was like, man, obviously
you have Sodo and Lindor, but if they found this guy, like,
that's really gonna hurt because they're going to go spend
the money outside of it. It's it's shocking that he
hasn't been you know what he was last year because
he thought it was only up from there. Random little no.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
I like it, and from the previous guest called the
everything comes back, it's April.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Everything comes back. It's April.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
All major League Baseball questions or you know, that's the
answer right now, it's April.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
I'm still bullish that I think the bullpen can be
fine and long term, I think you go, you trade
for one arm at the deadline. Sure, and in October
two of probably Ranger, Lozarto and Painter are going to
the pen. So I think I just want to get

(12:18):
so focused on a short term problem. But I'll tell
you what, July it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah, it's really disappointing.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
And on top of it, of course, and I hate
to be the guy picking the low hanging fruit. But
It just sucks seeing Hoffman and how talented he was
and what he's doing.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Right, You're right, five days for Kansas City one point
one three e ra A in Kansas City makes less
than a Romano too. But I'm trying to everyone's so
focused on the bullpen, and I get it. It's so annoying.
You have a game tied or winning, and it's frustrating.
The concern is not the bullpen. The concern is the lineup,

(12:56):
and there's deep concern five to three, nine, whatever you
want to say. In that lineup, you get into some
right and you know it's the top hasn't been consistent
enough to carry that five through nine either. So there's
a lot of serious concerns. You need a legit power
right hand bat. Is that the game?

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yep, that's game.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
They got swept by the Mets and City Field in three.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Well, you know what Mark gets.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
It's April that can't wait for the powers text in
the group. Yeah, he's poking his way. He's poking his
head around here. I see him. He's taking pictures of me.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
I see him. You know, it's fun when your team
is good, That's all I'll say. So he's enjoying it.
God bless him. But he texts the group it's filled
with nothing. But there's fourteen of us, probably eight active,
and every one of us are Phillies fans.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
And then the one that here we go.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Whatever it's powers, we love him. It is what it is.
With that being said, let's get out of the way.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
With that. With that being said, you want to see
some fireworks tonight or whenever Nick Pecone airs it.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Von Johnson and I have gotten into the mud a
little bit on wrestling Twitter on some WrestleMania happenings, and
I don't know if he's on the pods tonight. I
know Nick Piccone sent out me and Roy Burton and interview.
Roy Burton might have to virtually, you know, set us
aside and tell us to get back.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
We got some we got some differing opinions in the
world of wrestling.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
Vaughn Johnson and I are gonna have it out there.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Is he is he all pro from the standpoint of
like WWE is doing right? Because that is a a
very uh, that's an opinion that's in the minority. A
lot of people are upset with what's taking place, what
took place in WrestleMania and then some storylines are lacking.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
Yeah, rough rough weekend in my opinion, But I there
was some some positives in there, for sure, But there's
ours is a very specific j USO issue that will
have to be discussed and litigated on that show. I
hope we get to the rest of WrestleMania.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
And you guys are doing a pod tonight Shooters Radio.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
Night Clock, But I don't know if it's I don't
think it's live.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
I think it airs like we got to get that
live for the people radio.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Hey, look, I'm just a big fan of Paul Hayman
on ESPN anytime he wants to hop out there that
that was entertaining to me and McAfee and McAfee getting
choked out, was that real?

Speaker 5 (15:30):
No?

Speaker 3 (15:30):
No, he turned purple.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
I don't know if you ever seen my how where
are you of v c W?

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Shaan, I love e c W. Back in the day,
you know that that was Paul Hayman.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
He was the Vince McMahon of that company.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Sure, sure, sure, I didn't know at.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
What level where you were at with that. So that's Paul, Like,
Paul Hayman's a god to me, being the South Philly
e c W wrestling promoter who you know spilled blood
and down in Swanson and written her And so I
love Paul Hayman. So the fact that Paul Hayman's like
crossing over to the mainstream a little bit like pardon

(16:06):
my takes talking about Paul Hayman going on McAfee and
all this stuff. He was saying about, you know, Club
Shah if you know, warms my heart because I know
Paul Hayman's history and you could write a book about
the people he screwed out.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Oh yeah, Paul Hayman had a shot at Club Sha
shack lord. And I didn't know if it had something
to do or if it was before I don't know,
but I will.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Say this, Shannon Sharp.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I don't know when the addiction for Shannon Sharp happened
for everybody across this country. Like I've I always looked
at Shannon as entertaining. When he was an NFL player,
We all remember him picking up the phone.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
He was one of the.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Great tight ends. Of course when multiple Super Bowls, yeah,
Ravens and Broncos like and I was a huge fan
of the Sharps. I had him a poster my Wall,
Shannon and Sterling Sharp Attack way back in the day.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
But like, I.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Can't believe what is being said about this dude before,
before this case and everything like that. But the one
hundred million dollar podcast, I have people that are that
that talk because he he has Yeah, that podcast is
available through iHeart.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I believe was don't know anymore move forward, but one
more time. A people were like, I just I want
advertise with Shannon.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
I'm like, really, I don't know he's entertaining, but I'll
tell you what, in the last two weeks I am
so done with and to the point that like I
feel like I need to mute his name, Like we
need to calm it down a little bit. Hey, this guy,
Like what's going on all of a sudden everybody's in
love with Shannon Sharp and this, like I said, is

(17:48):
before the nonsense that just took place on our timeline
in the last forty eight hours, which is a whole
different monster. And if you haven't paid attention to that storyline,
do yourself favor.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Google is your friend lord?

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Yeah, moving on here, Well, what are we talking about?

Speaker 3 (18:05):
NFL draft? Gift? The music, the music.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Thank you tie so Ashton genty Yeah, Ashton genty top five.
Is there a team out there that could trade up
the three the Giants moved back in genty goes third overall.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
Yeah, it's it's Vegas, it's Chicago, it's Dallas. If they're
gonna get crazy, that's the move I think. If you're Dallas,
it's weird. You know, we always talk about championship built
through the trenches, all that stuff Dallas is in. You
wouldn't think Jerry Jones would let his team be in
a situation they're in need of a weapon. They need

(18:48):
a weapon to help out the offense, to get that
offense back to being exciting, back to being more than
just Dak and CD. And that's it. They have not
had a I mean, Rico down okay season as the
running back last year. Maybe you go, yeah, I forgot
about your.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
I'm ready to curse. I'm ready to curse on air.
That's where I'm at.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Whether it be Gens, whether it be Omarion Hampton, whether
it be going out and getting a wide receiver two
and Ted McMillan or even you know, guys, I'm not
as high on reaching on a Matthew Golden the Cowboy.
Maybe go fighter Coleston Lovelin. The Cowboys have to walk
out of this with a second weapon for Dak Prescott
to feel pretty good about. And if you're Jerry, you go, hey,

(19:30):
why don't I trade these next couple first round picks
to go get Ashton Chancey. I think that's pretty good.
I think you go up maybe twelve in a first
next year from Dallas for that number three pick from
New York. That's a big, big fall from New York though,
to go from three to twelve, So it might be
more realistic for Vegas. Maybe Vegas gives up a second,

(19:51):
maybe a second the year after or third, maybe maybe
two thirds to move up from six to three. I
think it there's no one outside of gen Z. Maybe
someone trades up for abdul Carter if that's but I
don't know who that would even be necessarily, so maybe
the Falcons, maybe the Carolina at eight. I think if

(20:12):
someone trades up, it's probably for gen.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Z Number one cam Ward, right, we all agree he's
gone two Travis to Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
Yeah, so three is Abdul Carter.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
The Giants will have an opportunity to grab their guy
at three. But I do believe where they're smoke, there's fire,
and there are people saying that possibly some teams are
interested in moving up with the Giants at three to take.
I would assume Ashton genty could be mistaken on that,
but we'll see how that one plays out again. He
is a hell of a talent. You heard what Mark
had to say about that one. It's a good luck

(20:43):
on that one. As far as the Giants, they have
a lot of issues, no doubt about it. Specifically quarterback.
Should they go ahead and take a swing of Shador?
Should they take a swing of Jackson's Dart? How do
you view those two quarterbacks? Of course, everyone's talking about
the QB PSS. We know what's happening at number one overall?
Is there a huge drop off from Jackson Dart to

(21:04):
Shador Sanders or Shador to Jackson Dart in your mind?

Speaker 5 (21:08):
No, there's not a drop off for many of them. Really.
For me, I have Schador as my top round quarterback
in the class. He's thirty two overall, cam Ward's thirty
eight overall, and then Dart is all the way down
at fifty five overall. But there's not a big gap
for me between thirty one to fifty five. In this class.
So Shador and Ward got mid second grades for me,

(21:28):
Dark got a high third round grade for me. Dart's
a lot like b Nix. It's easy to kind of
make that comparison. I think if I think Dart probably
owes Bonix some money when he gets drafted higher than
he should. Probably because Mick Nix's success last year probably
leads some to believe in Dart a little bit more
this year. Because of the similarities and experience and things

(21:49):
in the profile Shador, I think there's a lot of
geno to Shador cam Ward. I haven't landed on the
comp before. My problem with cam Ward is that I
don't know what the elite traders that I'm supposed to
grab one to and say, Oh, this guy's gonna be
a top ten quarterback.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Does that have a rifle? Would you say, like gunslinger?

Speaker 5 (22:09):
Yeah, But I don't think he's got like a Josh
Allen arm or anything like that, Like, yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
It's you just throw out a good arm, yeah, yeah, yeah,
for sure.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Much better on the show, Sha Shador is one of
the more accurate passers we've seen.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Right, He's deadly accurate. He's pretty cerebral in the pocket,
I think, and also I think one of the things
about Shadur is a lot of people are considering Shadur
kind of hand in hand with the O line that
he played with at Colorado, and he played with a
brutal offensive line there, so I actually think there's some
untap potential. I'm also not that sure that Dion is

(22:47):
what like an offensive mastermind er Pat Shermer, the offensive
coordinators he had working with Shitter. I think that there's
probably a lot of untaped potential with Shitter given the
situation he's coming from. But I the way I feel
about this quarterback classes, I wouldn't be the one one
of the ones as a GM kind of staking my
reputation to any of these guys at all. I would say,

(23:10):
you know what, We'll get Aaron Rodgers this year. We'll
get Kirk Cousins this year. We'll do the short term
stop gap answer, so we can kind of draft the
quarterback next year. Because I don't think I would want
to make the bet on any of these guys.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Speaking of wagering, we got an interesting comment coming from
John Russell. I will get to Kyle Fisher also checking it.
So I'm laughing because drafting and sportsbook, I'm not logged in,
and therefore I'm getting the odds wherever nationally started.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Yeah, you don't wager on the draft.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
I'm pretty bad at it generally. Really, I feel like
I generally do a bad job. I always like to
say this, like I don't do a great job like mocking,
Like I'm a bad mock drafter. I'm bad at predicting
what other people are gonna do. Like how I like
to enjoy the I evaluated for myself and here's what
I would do. So that way, when the picks roll

(24:07):
out and I'm on the stream I'm on tomorrow with
Shane haff and Dives, I'll be reacting like, oh, don't
like that pick, or ooh I really like that pick.
Because what I hate is people maybe on other stations
that just react to the draft and it's like, oh,
that's the exact guy I would have wanted it, or
oh that pick sucks, and it's like, well, you didn't
put out your big board brand, you didn't do any

(24:29):
research to say why you dislike or do like that pick.
So I like to do all the research beforehand. That way,
it's kind of I can react as it comes, and
I'm not changing my opinion based on who picks someone
or where a guy goes, because I already did what
I think. I stacked my big board top one hundred wy.
So that's why Jen. I remember, I made a big

(24:50):
NBA draft bet. I think it was Brandon Clark to
get drafted above ruiy Haschimora. They were both coming out
of Gonzaga. People loved Clark all the day. Draft nerds
like Troilbo Dude and I. We loved Brandon Clark and all,
and we all hated Ruby. Ruby couldn't defend YadA, YadA, YadA.
And then I made this big bet and then Ruby
Ashmore who went like five picks earlier then Clark, and

(25:13):
I was like, you know what, I think, I'm done
betting on which what picks chances are gonna make it.
I have no idea, but what I will say is
it is an absolute travesty and abomination and a joke
that you can't bet on it.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Hey, I'm sitting down with the governor in about twenty minutes.
I'm gonna bring it up.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
To him future president.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
Hopefully he's too normal. Mark, Yeah, that's the issue.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Anyways, back to the NFL Draft, uh, pick number three
right here, we're just talking about this, like if I
could wager, I'm definitely sprinkling on this. Ashton Gentis plus
is thirty to one right now, and for pick number
three overall, I get it. If Duel Carter is the guy,
no doubt he's minus eight hundred, he's the guy. But

(25:58):
trades happened, and like I said, there's information, there's news
out there. So if you are in Jersey, you better
sprinkle on that. Gent at plus three thousand, I think
it's well worth the play.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
I have a feeling that the trade might come at
four instead of three.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Well, he's at four to one plus four hundred. There
Will Campbell's minus five hundred for four.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
Yeah, I think if there's a trade down for Gent,
I still think the Giants stick and pick and Carter.
I think that's what they'll do four. Though. It is
interesting because if you're New England, you could plot out
a path in your head where you trade down the six,
maybe even ten, and Will Campbell's there, And if Will
Campbell's not there, maybe Armond Membu's there. Like one of

(26:39):
the top two of linemen are probably gonna be there
if you trade down. So if you're New England, I
don't even think it would take much to move down,
Like I think you'd add one day to pick from
Vegas or whoever the case may be. And I think
we're going to talk about, you know, the sexy options,
like is Chicago going to trade up for gent? Is
Dallas going to trade up for genty. I think it's

(27:00):
really a two man race, and I think it's Jacksonville
in Vegas. New England is starting to put out smoke
that they might be interested. I think that's trying to
get someone to trade up, maybe even Vegas at frat six,
to trade up above Jacksonville at five, because now there's
all this buzz about Jacksonville five. But you're right, I've
been talking about this for weeks now, that the Jags

(27:21):
should take Gents. I always thought there's no chance they would.
It's a first year GM, all this stuff. They have
all these holes on defense, But until last year, Trevor
Lawrence had never played with an above average starter at
wid wide receiver or running back Brian Thomas Junior. Is
that you go and you add another elite piece, There's
no more excuses for Trevor Lawrence. You have Ashton Genty,

(27:42):
you have Brian Thomas Jr. You have Trevor Lawrence. That
team should make the playoffs next year. That team should
be a top half of the league offense next year.
You go and you figure out the defense throughout the
rest of the draft. I think Genty's the right pick
for Jacksonville, and that's kind of where I'm hoping he
ends up. Although Vegas isn't bad either. You Gino throwing
the ball, Carol Head coach, They'll commit to the run.
They have a pretty good old line actually, so I

(28:05):
think those are probably the two most likely gent landing spots.
If he goes to five and he's there, I think
Jacksonville picks him. I think there's a chance of Vegas
trades up with trades up with New England at four.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
All right, a couple quick hitters get you out of here.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
First of all Eagles, any idea are they going tight end?
Is there a position that you would like them to
focus on?

Speaker 3 (28:27):
What is your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Right now, one day out from the NFL Draft for
the Eagles at thirty two.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
I think it's they probably don't pick at thirty two.
I think they'll probably move up or down. I would
guess down. I would guess down maybe, but I would
guess they probably moved down. But I do think they
move up or down. I am hoping for D line,
D tackle or edge. A lot of talk about tight end.
Tyler Warrent and Colston Loveland are going to be gone.

(28:56):
There's names like Mason Taylor, Elijah Royo. I don't have
my tight end. Three is ranked eighty eighth overall for
me on my big boards. So if Warren and Loveland
are gone, I have no interest in sniffing tight end.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
That's a reach.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
That's a major reach by Howie if he takes Mason
Taylor there, right.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
I'm not a fan. Yeah, it's not for me. I
think Mason Taylor, Elijah Royo, Gunner Helm, I'm missing an
aero fan. And I think they're all kind of different
flavors of mid ice cream at the tight end position.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Is there such thing as mid ice cream?

Speaker 5 (29:30):
Yeah? You big like coconut guy?

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Oh no, but that's a flavor though.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
That's what I mean. That's what I mean, like mid
flav I said, mid flavors of.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Ice Okay, mid flair, all right, all right, ooh, yeah,
there are people that like that though a lot of
pistachia maybe you know what, Hey, I just want to
put this out there for the people. Peachey Paterno State. Yeah,
that's a flavor ice cream. It was at my dinner
table on Easter.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
It was a hit.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
I've never had it before. I had a little taste,
a little spoon Peachy Paterno from the the the Penn
State University Creamery or whatever the hell it is. My
mother in law guy. It was a big hit. Everybody
loved the peach of paternal Just putting that out there.
Definitely not mid he knew, but grief, Yeah, where is it?

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Where is it? Where is it? There? You go back
to the NFL draft.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
My three dream names really, and I don't. James Pierce
is my dream name. He's my number five overall player,
my number two edge rusher in this class. There's some
alleged character concerns out there about James Pierce. No arrests
or anything like that, but some whispers about, you know,
work ethic things like that. There was a lot of
that about Jalen Carter as well, with an arrest as well.

(30:47):
So I think that James Pierce. If he's there, man,
I can't imagine how he passing up on that talent
unless those character concerns have some some real real weight
to them. He I don't get why he's falling. He's
a guy who was kind of in the first Pit
conversation last year.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
And that's a top ten pretty similar had.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
A pretty similar season this year that he had last year.
I don't really understand the fall. So I would love
that the other two guys are defensive because.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
The ten yard split numbers one point five to six. Yeah,
you gotta be a little bit faster than that.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
That's pretty good. It's nine point four relative athletic scored.
Pretty good.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
He didn't do the three cone drill. You're not going
to be a top ten pick if you don't do
the three cone drill.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Come on, what do you know? Let's go here.

Speaker 5 (31:32):
The other two dream guys for me, like Derek Harmon
is a dream guy. I have him thirteenth overall, my
top ranked defensive tackle. He's a fringe first guy, probably
gonna go back into the twenties, top end of the thirties,
so he's realistic to be there at thirty two, and
I would love him six four beast inside, can play

(31:53):
all three downs. Plug him in right there next to
Jalen Carter hell of in Milton Williams replacement. A lot
of the same goes for Walter Nolan, who I think
it allegedly Cincinnati loves Walter Nolan at seventeen. That might
be his floor, so that he might be a trade
up guy. He was maybe a little bit more realistic
a couple of weeks ago. Seems like he's risen upboards

(32:13):
a little bit. Those are really my three dream guys
before you're getting into positional value. Do you want to
safety things like that?

Speaker 3 (32:21):
All right?

Speaker 2 (32:22):
And then finally in the first round, it's been a
hot button topic, not money to be made, but over
two and a half quarterbacks in the first round, we
know one's going. Are we going to see a push
for shador Is Jackson Dark going in the first round?
Two and a half's the number? Where are you at?

Speaker 5 (32:39):
I'm gonna say under It seems like shadurgoes to Pittsburgh
and then Dark goes in the second round, maybe to
like Cleveland, New York, New Orleans. That would be my guest. Now,
maybe one of those teams trades back up into it,
but that would be my guest right now. I think
it was Micshay said today that he's hearing from GMS

(33:00):
more likely that there's one quarterback in the three drafted,
So I'll ride with mcsheck. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
There seems to be a lot of buzz about that
right now, and a lot of people are saying, oh
the values I'm under.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Eh, Look, it won't shock me if only one quarterback
selected in the first round. But you know, we've seen
this story told many many times that it feels like
teams just say, hey man, we got to have that guy,
we got to have a quarterback. Maybe this year is different.
We'll see it all starts tomorrow though. Markemry Junior will
be live Thursday night live streaming give the plug man.
