Friday: 2-3 OTL

• Z. Plante (PP) / Menghini

• Scored first (and 2nd) and held on - the Bulldog way…until they didn’t

• Love seeing the Max to Zam connection

• How great is it seeing brothers get to do that?

• INSANE that they couldn’t score on an empty net in 4:00 of play.

• UMD had control of the puck in the offensive zone w/ no goal

• Gajan started

• Five penalties in the game (UMD: 1/2 PP - Opp: 1/3)

• All minors, thankfully

• UMD SHOULD have gotten 3 points and walk away w/ 1

• Shots: UMD-29 | Opp: 29

• Blocks: UMD-14 | Opp: 8

• Faceoffs: UMD-28 | Opp: 32

Saturday: 3-2 Win

• Menghini (x2) / J. Smith

• Always one bulldog that seems to irritate the huskies

• Used to be Steeves, it was Menghini this year, Max Plante could be next

• Scored first (and 2nd) again, but was actually able to hold on this time around

• Giving up SCSU’s 1st goal 49 seconds after a 2-0 lead was bad

• Giving up another 2-goal lead late in the 3rd felt BAD

• Gajan started again don’t know if he’ll get both again or only until he loses

• It’s different to finish a season on the bench

• Just TWO penalties in this one (UMD: 0/1 PP - Opp: 0/1)

• Coaches must’ve cracked down

• Shots: UMD-29 | Opp: 24

• Blocks: UMD-16 | Opp: 7

• Faceoffs: UMD-27 | Opp: 37

Overall Weekend Notes:

• Isak Posch kept St Cloud in these games stopping a few grade-A chances

• Max Plante + Colin Ralph received Rookie OTY (?) honors

• Winning against a rival is great, winning to end the regular season is better, winning a trip to the desert during spring break is the best…but might not be the best for playing a hockey game
