crucial crossroads, and that is,you are your own greatest
leader.

(01:07):
Hello and welcome to anotherempowering episode of
Transformative Living Radio.
I'm Andre Flax, your host andcertified life and leadership
coach.
Let me ask you a question whatif the person you've been
waiting for is actually you?
(01:29):
I mean, what if the guidanceyou've been seeking, the
strength you admire in othersand the confidence you've been
craving, what if all of it waswithin you right now, simply
waiting to be remembered?
In today's episode, we want toexplore some of the
transformational conceptspresented in the acclaimed book
Self-Leadership the DefinitiveGuide to Personal Excellence.
(01:52):
Now, tony Robbins once saidthat the quality of your life is
the quality of your standards.
You see, embracingself-leadership is about
elevating those standards withinyou and cultivating a deep
sense of purpose and direction.
Now, if you've ever felt stuck, waiting for those elusive
feelings of motivation, clarityor even permission to move
(02:15):
forward, the reality is youalready possess everything you
need.
The key, then, is to awaken andharness that potential.
Let me give you an example.
Picture yourself on a boatfloating on an expansive ocean.
Now, while many others willallow the waves to dictate their
(02:36):
path, wandering withoutguidance or direction, true
leaders take control over thewheel.
They set their sail andcourageously select their
destination.
This decisive act of choice.
This is what we callself-leadership.
Self-leadership is not aboutexerting control over every
aspect of life.
(02:56):
Rather, it's about masteringyour responses, directing your
energy effectively and takingownership of your decisions.
In the book the Power ofSelf-Leadership the Definitive
Guide to Personal Excellence, the author defines
self-leadership as quote thepractice of intentionally
influencing your thinking, feelings and actions towards
(03:18):
your objectives.
End quote.
It encourages you to rise eachday, not merely questioning what
should I do, but ratherintrospectively thinking who am
I choosing to be?
You see, true leaders don'twait for perfect circumstances
to act.
They understand that certaintyis an illusion.
(03:38):
Instead, they create their ownclarity in the midst of
uncertainty.
Now, this clarity is rooted inyour self-concept, the internal
narrative you create about whoyou are and what you're capable
of achieving.
Drawing upon Neville Goddard'sinsights in the book Feeling is
the Secret, we recognize thatyour inner world profoundly
(04:01):
influences your outer reality.
When you lead yourself withconviction and authenticity,
your life tends to mirror thatinner strength.
Self-leadership is not abouthaving all the answers.
It's about cultivating enoughself-trust to show up day after
day.
It embodies spiritual courage, personal accountability and a
(04:24):
radical sense of self-respect.
As Tony Robbins aptly puts it,quote we are not managers of our
circumstances.
We are the architects of ourlives end quote.
You see, self-leadership isfundamentally about embracing
the role as architect of yourown destiny.
So let me give you fivepractical but powerful
(04:46):
strategies that you can use tohelp you activate more
self-leadership in your own life.
Strategy number one is to createa morning identity ritual.
Every day, carve out time inthe morning to reconnect with
the person you aspire to be.
Ask yourself how does the bestversion of me speak, think,
(05:07):
decide and act today?
Write these insights down, vocalize them and reinforce your
commitment to embodying thatpower throughout the day.
The second strategy is toeliminate the I give up habit.
Whenever you sense the desireto retreat or give up on your
goals, acknowledge that moment.
However, break the cycle byreciting a mantra such as I lead
(05:31):
myself, I don't follow fear.
Remember your identity evolveswhen you choose not to abandon
yourself.
Cultivating emotional agilityis the third strategy.
You see, self-leadershipinvolves learning to tune into
your emotions and skillfullychoose your responses Instead of
(05:52):
reacting impulsively.
Pause and ask yourself whatwould love or wisdom guide me to
do in this situation?
Acknowledge your feelings, butremember that you are not
defined by them.
Instead, allow your feelings toinform your actions.
Now, strategy number four is topractice intentional thinking.
(06:13):
You see your thoughts act asdirectives to your nervous
system, shaping your beliefs andoutcomes.
Rather than succumbing to thedefault thoughts like I'm not
good enough or this alwayshappens to me consciously select
empowering thoughts such as I'mbuilding strength through this
challenge.
Every step forward is progress,or I lead myself with clarity
(06:36):
and purpose.
Strategy number five involvestaking time each night to
reflect.
Now, as you wrap up your day, pose the question did I lead
today or did I yield to fear?
Now, in undertaking thisreflective practice, do so
without judgment.
Focus on nurturing awareness.
(06:58):
Acknowledge even the tiniestachievement where you
demonstrated courage andstrength.
So now let me pose thisquestion again what if the
leader you've been waiting foris, in fact, you?
What if everything you neededto succeed is not out in the
world, but already exists withinyou, patiently waiting to be
(07:21):
activated?
Let this revelation serve asyour turning point, because
leadership is not an innatetrait.
It's a conscious decision, acontinuous practice and a
purposeful path.
Walking this path allows you toawaken something sacred inside
of you a profound alignmentbetween your values and your
(07:43):
voice, between your inner selfand your external strategies.
You see, the world desperatelyneeds more individuals who are
willing and courageous enough tolead themselves rather than
waiting to be led.
Now, as we wrap up this episodetoday.
Here's your invitation.
This evening, before you laydown to sleep, sincerely ask
(08:06):
yourself where in my life am Ibeing called to step up?
What's one small step I couldtake to lead myself forward
tomorrow?
Now it may be initiating acourageous conversation, making
a bold decision or simplyprioritizing self-respect over
self-doubt.
Take a deep breath, place yourhand over your heart and affirm
(08:30):
I lead myself with love, powerand purpose.
Remember you are the operativepower in your life, the inner
guide and the steady flame thatilluminates your path.
When you embrace the role ofleading yourself first, you open
the door to a life that trulyreflects your highest self.
