Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, my friend,
welcome into a very special
edition bonus episode of thepodcast here.
This is my first ever quarterlyrecap in public income report.
Now I'm doing this for a coupleof reasons.
I'm doing this privatelybecause I wanna do a better job
(00:20):
at number one.
Just looking at the past fewmonths of business and
celebrating the wins and seeingwhat I accomplished, you know
how this goes right.
You, the past few months ofbusiness and celebrating the
wins and seeing what Iaccomplished, you know how this
goes right.
You go a few months into yourbusiness and you feel like you
got nothing done, but then whenyou look back at the completed
projects, you're like holy cow,we did a lot recently.
So that's one reason I alsohave notoriously been really
(00:41):
good at just keeping my headdown and getting work done and
just continuing to buildmomentum and look forward.
But subsequently I've not beenthe best at looking back at the
data and the numbers and gettingreally granular with what's
working, what's not working, what can be improved.
So essentially I'm forcingmyself to become a better
(01:02):
business owner and to do betterat looking at the numbers and
the data.
It's just it's not my strongsuit, but I know to continue to
build a healthy business, I needto do better at it.
So it's kind of a challenge foryou as well.
That's one reason I'm doingthis publicly is I want to
challenge you to do this in yourbusiness.
No matter what level you're atin your business, whether you're
(01:24):
more established and you're adecade or two in, I'm sure you
could do better.
We can all do better, probablyat looking at the numbers.
But even if you're brand new atbusiness, it's really good to
get a habit of doing this.
Now I am always inspired byfolks who do some sort of
monthly income report.
My friend, shannon Mattern, whois the host of the Profitable
Web Designer podcast.
She does this every month.
(01:46):
I'm not interested in doingthis monthly at this level, but
quarterly I can do.
My friend, jay Klaus, who runsCreator Science and he has a
membership called the Lab.
He does a very, very in-depth,robust monthly retro Like.
I don't know anyone who does itmore detailed than Jay does.
(02:07):
So I'm always inspired by youknow a couple of my friends who
are doing this.
So that's what I'm going tostart doing, particularly this
year.
This is kind of my personalchallenge for this year and I
want to challenge you to do aversion of it as well, whether
you do it monthly or at leastquarterly.
I would at least do itquarterly and a simple version
of this I'll share what we'regoing to cover here.
But a simple version could bejust to look back at your
(02:28):
revenue month to month and thenjust look at your expenses just
a standard P and L, a profit andloss type of statement, and you
know you don't need to go lineby line with your bank account.
But if you get a good idea ofwhat came in, what services
you're selling, where yourexpenses are going out, it'll
tell you a lot about yourbusiness and it'll tell you a
lot about what to improve movingforward, some things you can
(02:50):
improve, some things you justmay need to chop out altogether.
So that's my encouragement toyou.
Now, what we're going to coverhere are a list of some of the
things that I completed in thisfirst quarter.
I'm going to share a little bitabout some things that are
started, some projects that arestarted and subsequently kind of
what's ahead.
I do want to just share somepersonal things about some of
(03:10):
the big wins I was reallyexcited about this quarter, and
then we're going to wrap up withthe actual numbers for Q1 of
2025.
So I am going to share with youreal revenue, real expenses and
the real profit that camethrough that.
Now I will say, before we divein here, I've got some visuals
to this that are going to be inthe post that accompanies this,
which is inside of Web DesignerPro.
(03:32):
So I don't know if I'm going tobe doing every one of these
quarterly recaps completelypublic.
I will absolutely do everysingle one of these this year
inside of Web Designer Pro, soall members will get full access
to this.
But for this first one, I'mgoing to make it public just so
you can see what it looks likeor hear what it looks like.
But the actual post is insideof Web Designer Pro.
(03:53):
So if you're a member of pro atthe course or at the community
and coaching tiers, you'll getaccess to this post, as it is a
newsletter which, by the way, this is publicly going to be my
newsletter for the week thatthis comes out.
So if you're not yet on mynewsletter and you're not yet a
member of pro, jump over tojoshhallco slash weekly and you
can sign up for my newsletter, even if you're not a member of
(04:14):
pro to get this All rightProjects completed.
This first part here.
One of the biggest things that Ijumped on in Q1 came from my
SEO consultation with MichelleBernier, who's my kind of
personal SEO and messaging andcopywriting strategist.
We did a conversation at theend of last year, a consult I'll
(04:34):
make sure that's linked belowtoo, but that was basically
mapping out the SEO strategy forJosh Hallco and Web Designer
Pro for 2025.
And the first big thing therewas to move the course sales
pages from joshhallco towebdesignerprocom, and that was
done in the first month of 2025.
(04:55):
So that was a big one.
That actually was a lot of work.
Subsequently, not only did wemove all those pages over and do
a lot of redesigning andtweaking and refining, but the
original course reviews werewith WooCommerce reviews at
joshhallco.
But since I'm not usingWooCommerce on WebDesignerProcom
(05:16):
, I needed to figure out how totransfer the reviews over, so I
started using Senja.
Senja is freaking awesome.
I'm really, really happy so farwith Sinja because we were able
to export all the reviews fromWooCommerce and pull them over
by course and by category.
Big shout out to my tech VA,chris, for literally doing the
grunt work of all that.
(05:36):
So we got all the coursereviews moved over to their new
sales pages at webdesignaprocom.
We also created course reviewforms for each individual course
that are embedded there.
So in Senja you can categorizedifferent intake forms for
reviews that can be written orvideo.
So that is all ready to go.
Thanks to Senja, thanks toChris, my tech VA, for doing
(05:59):
that.
So that was a big kind oftwo-in-one project there that we
kicked the year off with, andthen I also added some more
pages to WebDesignerProcom.
I added a full courses pagethat is an overview of all my
courses on-site atWebDesignerProcom.
I also added disclaimers,accessibility statement and a
few others and laid thegroundwork for some future pages
(06:21):
which are going to come intoplay here.
Again, this was based off of mySEO strategy for 2025, uh, with
Michelle Bourbon year, and thatwas episode three 57, by the
way, if you want to go back tothat cause, we released that in
December of 24.
So head back to that one.
Definitely worth your time Ifyou want to hear a live SEO like
consultation, to see what thatlooks like and to see what it
(06:43):
looks like to have you presentthat for a client so they can
pay you for it, and then someWeb Designer Pro things that
were accomplished here in Q1.
I launched Web Designer HQ,which is basically a little
directory to every single SOPtemplate, email script and all
the things that are mostlyinside of courses.
(07:04):
There are links to trainingsand additional things there as
well, but we really wanted acentralized place that had all
the SOPs.
This has been highly requestedfor like a year or so.
So, yeah, web Designer HQ forany member of Pro, even on the
courses tier.
This is available for you.
Just go in the courses area andthere's a new courses resources
(07:27):
section and that has a post forWeb Designer HQ.
It also has a post about theaudio courses.
We were able to get threecourses on audio as a private
podcast feed.
So the web design businesscourse, the maintenance plan
course and scale your way areall available now as audio
(07:50):
courses.
So as long as you're a memberof pro at any level, there are
links in there where you can thecourses to, where you can
download the audio version andget your private podcast feed
link, and then the post is thereas well in the course resources
section.
And then the other big thing wejust launched more recently is
Brock, our AI agent in WebDesigner Pro.
(08:11):
It's Brock.
The WDP bot Just talked aboutthis recently.
My daughter named it Broccoliand we rolled with it and it is
freaking awesome.
We just had a recent bonusepisode, so I'm not going to
rehash that, but go back to thatone If you want to check it out
.
Really dives into what you cando with Brock as a web designer
pro member, both for findingresources, finding posts and get
(08:34):
coaching based off ofeverything that's in pro.
So those were some of the mainprojects completed in Q1.
Again, some of the.
We've got a lot of smallerstuff that we did, but those
were the big ones.
Those were like the biggestneedle moving things that were
done.
I'm loving this, by the way.
I really hope you do this, ifanything, even if you don't do
(08:54):
like a profit and loss, lookback at the projects you've
completed in this first quarter.
You will be shocked at how muchyou got done that you didn't
realize you did.
So there was Q1 as far asprojects completed.
Projects started.
I got a little bad.
I'm not usually this bad, butfor some reason I just got quite
a few things started, althoughthey're all kind of intertwined.
(09:16):
I got kind of bad with startingprojects but not getting them
finished as soon as I wanted to.
But we did a lot in Q1, and Ialso maintained a very balanced
schedule with my family.
My daughter also had a bigsurgery in February.
So lots of things going on andstill really happy with what we
kicked out in Q1.
All that to say the things westarted.
I did start creating a new WebDesigner Pro model site.
(09:41):
Now what this is is basicallythe new version of an example
site that are going to be.
It's going to be featured inlike all of my courses moving
forward.
So I am about to embark on likecourse revamp wildness.
I mean heads up.
All of my courses are up todate in like.
There's new things I want toadd, of course, but for anyone
(10:02):
in the courses, don't worry, nothing is like ridiculously out
of date or completelyirrelevant.
If that's the case, I deletethose lessons or tweak them.
But a lot of my courses arefixed and ready for a revamp,
starting with the DNS course.
What was formerly called my Cpanel course, uh, was renamed to
under the hood, which is justunder the hood of what's when
(10:23):
websites.
I'm going to kind of just gosimple and just call it a DNS
course.
It's what it is, so it is Underthe Hood of websites.
But I've got the new outlinejust about ready to go and I'm
rewriting the lessons for it.
It's basically a DNSfoundations style course for web
designers.
So that's going to be the firstcourse that I kick out here.
(10:44):
I don't think I'll have itready in April.
My hope was to get it out inApril, but it might be May.
Either way, it will for sure beQ2.
The other course that's going tobe revamped and relaunched as
version two in Q2 is my SEOcourse.
Lots of new stuff in the wakeof AI, Google AI overviews and
everything else that's going onthat I'm going to be talking
(11:05):
about.
I've seen so many of my webdesigner pro members absolutely
do some incredible things withSEO both how to do it and also
selling it as recurring andrevenue services and MRR
services.
So, uh, working on the DNScourse now for any members who
are curious and pro, and thenSEO course will be next.
Again, that all kind of tiesinto the model site because I
(11:28):
want to show off some SEOstrategies with the Web Designer
Pro model site.
So I'm kind of.
I started working on the newmodel site which is also going
to be like the primary exampleof how to offer maintenance
plans, the pricing, how todisplay your service pages, how
to display growth plans.
It's all going to be in themodel site.
It's going to be a lot easierfor me moving forward.
(11:50):
So all of the coursessubsequently are kind of
dependent on getting that modelsite done.
So the DNS course we don't needto worry about that.
So DNS course will be out soon, new version, and then model
site, then SEO course, all in Q2.
And then I'm also this is goingto come into play with revenue
(12:13):
that came in for pro but I'mreally working hard and better
at some email sequences and somenurture sequences Now that we
have tiers in web designer pro.
We have the coaching tier whichis nearly at capacity.
I'm probably going to put await list on that in April here,
um, and then open it up,probably once a month, um, for
for any spots that are available, because I am very, very close
to capacity, as I have been.
But we've had some folks dropdown to the community tier,
(12:34):
which was fine and expected.
So that's opened up a littlemore of my capacity for coaching
in our weekly calls.
Uh, on the coaching tier andpro, but we also have the
community tier and the coursestier and, um, I'm trying to
figure out how to best nurturefolks at the courses tier to
make sure, once they get to acertain point, I think they'll
(12:54):
be ready for the community, andvice versa.
So when people are on thecommunity tier they may be ready
to jump up to the coaching tierwhen they're at a certain level
.
So I'm working on somesequences for that.
So those are the main projectsthat were started in Q1.
Now let's get to the numbers, the revenue and the income
report.
I know that's what you showedup here for.
I want to start off with somebig wins because these will get
(13:17):
into some of the revenue stuff.
I'm very, very excited to be ata point where Web Designer Pro
is inching towards $350,000 ARRannual recurring revenue.
This is an incrediblefoundation for my business and
incredible foundation andstability just for me and my
(13:37):
family.
I've been really open about how22 and 23 were down years, but
last year, 2024, was awesome.
My goal this year, my revenuegoal, is a top line revenue of
half a million 500,000.
And you will see here that weare close to on track to that.
Web Designer Pro in itself, which is the majority of my
(13:58):
income and revenue, is now at28,872 MRR.
That's monthly recurringrevenue on average.
So there are some months thatdip below that depending on
annual renewals and and I hadsome quarterly subscriptions as
well, initially from a couple ofyears ago but 20, almost 29 K
(14:19):
MRR and we are sitting at three,3000, excuse me, $346, nine
dollars annual recurring revenue.
So again, with the growth thatI anticipate for pro, we should
get at least to a four hundredARR recurring revenue model by
(14:40):
the end of the year and I feellike that's pretty, pretty
modest with what I have plannedhere.
So really really pumped aboutthat Very, very excited.
Thank you everybody in WebDesigner Pro for making that
what it is.
I mean I'm obviously you knowI'm working my ass off to make
this the best web designcommunity online, but pro is
nothing without its incrediblemembers, especially the
community.
So you guys are a huge part ofthat and you are a huge part of
(15:03):
supporting me and my family andkeeping this going.
So thank you Web Designer Promembers.
If you're not in, jump on inweb designer procom Courses are
49 a month.
49 a month you get all mycourses.
You get web designer hq and youget audio courses.
If you're not in there, myfriend, what are you waiting on?
Let's freaking go, and then youcan jump into the community
(15:24):
level and then we'll reallystart building your business and
you can get To six figures andmulti six figures and beyond.
So Very excited that we're ontrack.
We're about 90% on track to thegoal of being a 500K business.
We'll get to the quarterlyrevenue here.
Next, one thing that was a big,big win was I came out and
(15:44):
planned and, within the firstthree weeks of releasing this,
nearly sold out our first webdesigner pro con event which, at
the time of recording this, isgoing to happen in less than a
month.
I can't believe we're almosthere, but super excited about
that.
We've been talking about havinglike a dedicated web designer
pro event for a long time.
This one was a max headcount of40 members and we've got 36
(16:11):
tickets sold.
So heads up, it may even besold out by the time this comes
out, but we've only got a fewtickets left for any members on
the fence.
You've got to get it ASAP aspossible because we do have a
max headcount.
But I was really excited aboutthat because I had no idea where
this was going to go.
I didn't know if three peoplewould buy tickets.
Didn't know if, you know, threepeople would buy tickets.
We kept tickets very modest, at150 a piece, just because I
(16:37):
wanted people to be able totravel and I knew I was going to
get some sponsorships, whichwe'll talk about next.
But yeah, we weren't sure whatto price it at exactly.
I mean, we had plenty ofexpenses but yeah, we sold like
over 20 tickets in the firstcouple of weeks of announcing
the event, which told me, holycow, web Designer Pro members
are just as engaged and pumpedto meet in person as I thought
(16:58):
they would be even more.
I mean, it exceeded myexpectations that fast.
So super, super pumped aboutthat WDP Con going down May 2nd
through May 3rd 2025.
I will definitely be sharingall the ins and outs of that
once we have the event here.
But a huge win.
That was a big win.
I also subsequently landedthree sponsorships for
(17:20):
webdesignerprocom Sorry,webdesignerprocom, yeah,
siteground 17 Hats was ourprimary sponsor Site, sponsor
site ground and term.
Again, it's the first time I'vereally taken like sponsorships
seriously.
I've never done it for an event.
So, uh, we just kind of lookedat the average expenses of the
(17:42):
event, kind of offset it withthe amount of revenue that we
took in from ticket sales, andthen, uh, wanted to have some
sponsorship behind that to beable to help us with the event
venue.
We have a deaf member of WebDesigner Pro shout out to Harold
who is coming as well.
So we need to ASL services.
So we're going to have twosigners.
(18:03):
With an all day event, you needto have two signers there for
ASL services.
So that was a pretty big costfor this.
Um, we've got group socials anddinners and some other stuff
going on.
So big thanks to 17 hats, site, ground and term again for
backing us and backing ourcommunity and making this event
freaking awesome, cause we kindawe went all out in a lot of
(18:24):
areas of it to make this thebest damn event we could for our
first big web designer proevent.
So, yeah, oh my gosh, I'm soexcited.
Another huge win and then we'lldive into revenue.
A couple last ones wins here.
I got Chris Doe on the podcast.
That was a biggie.
I had been talking about thatfor a long time.
He was on recently, so it wasan honor to have Chris on a lot
(18:47):
of great feedback on that one aswell.
Uh, speaking of a web designerpro member, we also officially
have our first Web Designer Propartner.
It is a partner community, samSarsden, who has been a member
of Pro, who is just a flyingeagle and great example of how
to build a six-figure business.
He's been on the podcast before.
He started his own little SEOacademy called Local SEO Academy
(19:09):
, and Sam is just on the frontlines of what is working with
local SEO, not only how to do itfor yourself, but how to sell
it as a service.
So I go only so far into SEOand local SEO is not an area of
my personal strong suit.
So I actually rely on Sam, justbased off of literally seeing
(19:31):
what he's doing and built, making his own six and even I
mean gosh, he's going to belooking at two, 50, I think this
year, plus in annual recurringrevenue on his own with local
SEO.
So I'm happy that Sam is anofficial partner to web designer
pro, not only as a member, buthis community kind of just goes
further into local SEO.
(19:51):
So, uh, yeah, we have a spot inweb designer pro now where, if
you want to go deeper into localSEO.
This is what I recommend, andI'm an affiliate a proud
affiliate for his Academy, andwe started a very, very cool
mutual relationship here, movingforward for both web designer
pro and local SEO Academy forthose who want to go deeper into
specifically local SEO.
(20:11):
And then, last big win, beforewe talk numbers on the personal
side, uh, my wife and I justcelebrated 10 years married,
which was awesome.
We had a wonderful littleanniversary celebration and
shortly before that, my daughterBria had her big time G tube
surgery.
So there was a lot that led upto that a one-night hospital
stay and some recovery but she'sdoing awesome and she's gaining
(20:32):
weight and she's our littlesumo bean, now that we call her.
So I've been a good year on thepersonal front too, and
obviously keeping up with my twoother kiddos, annie and Drex,
and just trying to do our day today All right.
Now let's talk revenue Again.
This is the first time that I'veever publicly shared this much
data public.
So a little nervous.
But here we go, cause I don'tknow what you expect of me.
(20:53):
I don't know if you think I'mlike a multimillionaire.
I don't know if you think Imake $50,000 a year.
I don't know, but I will tellyou Q1, we took a top end
revenue in of $115,655.96.
So just over 115K for the firstmonth.
(21:13):
That's also a big time win forme because I've never had a six
figure quarter.
I'm sorry I may have said thatthere, but 115 plus in the first
quarter, january.
This is the way this broke down.
January was 33,809.96.
February was a little bit ofdrop from that to 26,355.72.
(21:37):
And then March was quite a bigjump up from that.
March was actually the bestmonth I've ever had to date.
Maybe that's why I feelcomfortable sharing all this At
55,490.28.
And all this at 55,490 and 28cents.
(21:57):
Now my numbers usually don'tdrastically differ that much.
But the reason March was such adrastic um increase from
February was because, number one, we have a lot of annual
renewals in web designer pro onthe coaching tier.
That happened to be in Marchbecause when I revamped what was
the web design club into webdesigner pro it was in late
February and March when weofficially launched web designer
pro.
So I had a lot of folks jump onthe annual deal at that time,
(22:21):
which is still available.
Any member of web designer proat the coaching tier you guys
can go annual.
You'll get two months free andyou get a one-on-one coaching
call with me at some point inyour membership.
So jump on it.
If you want to go annual, um,it's actually on the books, it's
.
It's nice in waves but just aheads up, if you do maintenance
plans or growth plans annual andmonthly you it's nice to have
(22:44):
that initial cash influx, butyou actually make more lifetime
value with a monthlysubscription versus annual.
So it's kind of nice havingboth of those.
That's only available on thecoaching tier as of now in pro.
I'm considering it for for thecourses tier in the community
tier.
But, um, because people areupgrading and downgrading, I
have to see how that's going tobest work out, but for now
(23:06):
that's why it was such a bigjump.
The other big aspect to that isI had over $15,000 in
sponsorship revenue from oursponsors for the Web Designer
Pro event and we also sold moreand more tickets in March as
well for the event from promembers.
Numbers skewed it a little bitbecause those are not normal
(23:30):
monthly revenue numbers.
Without those it would probablybe more like high 30s.
But still, that's thedifference between those.
But I'll take it and again I'mgoing to do more and more things
this year to hopefully keepthis at an average.
So quarterly top line revenuewas over 115.
And actually, members of WebDesigner Pro, you guys and if
(23:52):
you're on your email list, causeI'm going to send this to you
in the newsletter versionjoshhallco slash weekly sign up
but we actually had over 120total revenue.
But, as you guys know, sometimes those don't hit the
bank account to the followingmonth.
So, uh, while we did havetechnically 120 on the books, it
(24:15):
was 115 in the bank account.
We had nearly $5,000.
It didn't drop until I think itwas April 1st, so it was like
this ain't no April fool.
So, uh, yeah, that is whythat's slightly skewed, but hey,
we'll take it.
It's ish, it's in there.
Let's talk expenses now.
Out of this 115, 655.96.
Of course that's not going intoall my pocket and my helicopter
(24:38):
, cause I don't even want ahelicopter.
At most I would get a pontoonboat and a tennis court and
revamp my drum set, also pay formy family stuff.
But any who?
Uh, expenses for Q1 total.
This includes team costs.
This includes all of oursubscriptions and taxes.
I don't know what.
(24:59):
Okay, what do you think?
Let me guess.
Let me have you guess?
What do you think it is?
What do you think my expensesat a 115 plus were in the first
quarter?
Will this be lower?
Will this be higher?
I know you can't take itanymore $27,600.71.
So I'm very fortunate because Ihave a very, very lean business
(25:21):
Again.
That 27K plus was everythingAll my team costs, all our
monthly expenses, subscriptionsand nearly $10,000 in taxes for
that first quarter.
My business is an S-corp so wedo tax estimates.
Now I pay tax personallyseparately, so that's just pure
(25:44):
business W-2 tax based off ofwhat I take home as the sole
proprietor of my business withan S-corp.
So the cool thing about that iswe had our most profitable
quarter to date at over $88,000.
So $88,000, $5,525 was ourprofit.
(26:04):
That gave.
From the $88,000 comes what Itake home from me and my family
and then profit left in thebusiness.
So awesome, good quarter.
Good, good, good quarter.
Very excited on the right track, especially considering we're
still rebounding from a down 22and 23.
Very, very happy with a topline revenue of again over
(26:27):
115,000.
Should have been one 20, butthat dang weekend, I think,
messed us up with that.
Get into the bank, that's okay.
A little over $27,000 inexpenses and then over 88,000 in
profit, which again that goesto my family and then to just
being in the bank to be able tohave our, have our cushion pay
(26:47):
stuff off and et cetera.
Um, one thing I did want tomention with this cause I think
it'll be helpful is a little bit.
And again, if you're on myemail list or a member of web
designer pro, you'll see this inthe post, cause I'm going to
include this visual.
But if you're curious about howthe revenue per month broke
down, again, I'd mentionedearlier that MRR right now is
(27:10):
over 28,000 for web designer pro.
But again, we have some annualrenewals there, so that's why
some months fluctuate.
Even with a recurring revenuemodel, it's not all monthly and
when I launched Web Designer ProI actually launched quarterly.
So we still have some memberspaying quarterly who signed up
on Web Designer Pro versusmonthly and annual.
(27:30):
We only have a handful of thosenow, but that's why it skews a
little bit.
That's why, like in January itwas over 33,000 and then in
February it was just over 26 isbecause there's a baseline of
web designer pro.
I don't know what the actualMRR on web designer pro averages
.
It's probably more like 25right now, because some months
(27:51):
in web designer pro, over 30comes in and then some it's,
like you know, 25 or 26,.
But then there's the rest ofthe revenue streams that we have
here, and that's why I want tojust give you a rundown of some
of these extra revenue streams.
Again, as a web designer, it's adifferent set of services and
models, but I think what'simportant about this is to see
how, and for me, I'm just goingto be honest and transparent
(28:13):
with you.
I'm very all my ducks are in arow.
Well, that's not right.
All my eggs are, most of myeggs are in one basket, which is
web designer pro.
Now, that's the goal and I'minvesting in myself.
I'm literally investing in pro.
I'm investing in making itbetter and better and better.
But I am going to be honest insaying I want to make sure that
(28:34):
I continue to have somediversity in my revenue streams.
Now I don't want to take mymental bandwidth and time away
from pro any more than it isright now, because it's very,
very manageable, but I amdefinitely looking into more
sponsorships and consulting andsome other things that interest
me and that aren't big timesucks to be able to not that I
(28:55):
have any reason to think thatWeb Designer Pro is going to be
going down in revenue.
In fact, I think we're going tobe doubling it over the next
probably 12 to 18 months.
It could very well be a sevenfigure membership with what I
have planned here within thenext couple of years.
But I also know the value ofhaving a little bit of diversity
.
For any reason, it's just goodto have some diversity, as any
(29:19):
established business owner willtell you.
So I'm going to break down thisfirst quarter revenue in my
income streams for you.
So inside of Web Designer Pro,over $64,000 came from the
coaching tier and then over$64,000 came from the coaching
tier and then over $11,000 camefrom the courses tier.
Now that's only 49 a month.
So, uh, and it's only fourmonths old and I really haven't,
(29:42):
like, pushed the new tiers asmuch.
I mean, I I promote webdesigner pro but I've got plenty
of marketing plans, but I'mreally still I feel I'm
solidifying the foundation to tomake especially the courses
tier more scalable.
So I'm fine with that, I'm finewith those numbers.
And then over $10,000 came fromthe community tier in this
(30:04):
first quarter in web designerpro.
So the way that works out.
If you don't know, my communityweb designer pro there's courses
community and coaching courseswas 49 a month Currently.
Community is $99 a monthcurrently and the course or,
excuse me, the coaching tier, isone, 99 currently a month.
So 50, 50, 50 increases thereand, yeah, the bulk is in my
(30:27):
coaching tier because that'swhat pro has built up as over
the years.
But even with over $20,000 inrevenue in this first quarter
between community and coaching, those are much more scalable
because they're not as timeintensive.
For me the courses tier isinfinitely scalable because I'm
not actually one-on-one talkingto the folks in the courses tier
(30:48):
.
You just get access to mycourses and a handful of other
resources.
But ideally I want you to comeup to the community when you're
ready and that's where the realmagic happens.
The coaching tier I've workedon that, you know, for years and
that I'm nearly nearing atcapacity because we get weekly
coaching calls and everyone getsDM access to me for coaching.
(31:08):
Sometimes those coachingconversations that are going in
the DMS privately are prettyintense and can be very time
consuming.
So I'm basically fine with thecoaching tier being where it is
and I want to scale up coursesin community.
I want to continue to to drivethose pretty aggressively
through the rest of this year, which, with what I've mapped out
(31:29):
, with the plans ahead and theprojects I've started.
Every time I launch a newcourse, a revamped course, it's
a new sales cycle for thecourses tier, so those are going
to be big.
But altogether really happy withover $85,000 in Q1, just from
Web Designer Pro.
So again that's a huge chunk ofthe revenue.
Over $4,000 came from ticketsales to the Web Designer Pro
(31:54):
event, so that helped offsetquite a few of our costs.
And again, so fortunate to landsome sponsorships for the event
at over $15,000 thanks to 17Hats, siteground and Termageddon
.
So that will cover all of ourevent costs and more.
We'll be able to actually beprofitable on the event, which
is huge, awesome.
I wanted to make sure I didn'tlose my ass on that one.
(32:15):
I do have a mini course whichis my guide to getting web
design clients.
I actually still sell thatthrough joshhallco, but it's
really only a lead type ofproduct and the way I do that is
typically off of the backs ofsummits.
So I was a part of a couplesummits in Q1.
And what I would do is say ifyou like this presentation, I
(32:41):
have a mini course.
Normally it's $97, but you getit for $27.
That's typically how I discountthat.
It's simply a lead in productand what that?
If you didn't know what thatmini course is, it's my guide to
getting web design clients.
It's actually just one modulefrom my business course which is
telling me how valuable mybusiness course is.
It's my signature course insideof Web Designer Pro.
But people are getting that andthen they're jumping into Web
(33:02):
Designer Pro and I would usuallyback that up with a 30 day
trial of all of my coursesinside of Pro.
So when somebody gets the $27mini course, they automatically
get an option to jump into proand try it out for 30 days to
see if they want access to allthe courses ongoing.
With those email nurturesequences I talked about.
(33:24):
The goal is to get them up tocommunity when they're ready and
then we'll have the coachingtier opened up month to month or
every other month, as we haveavailability and I have capacity
.
So that is the model and thegoal to get us up to 500 K this
year and then eventually evenhigher than that as we look
towards this with the goal ofsustaining my lifestyle and my
(33:46):
time with my kiddos and enjoyingthis and making sure I'm not
stressing myself.
I'm actually loving this.
I'm really enjoying this.
By the way, I hope you are too.
We're talking numbers.
It doesn't get any better thanthat.
I did sell $148 total worth ofpro swag.
I have not pushed the pro swagso far very much.
I did way more last year whenwe came out with it.
So I will be jumping on theswag train more now.
(34:08):
I don't pocket nearly.
I I nearly break even on theswag.
I've kept the.
So, if you didn't know, allmembers of pro get a discount on
swag.
Although anyone could buy ittechnically, we have t-shirts,
sweatshirts, coffee cups, allsorts of stuff with web designer
pro swag.
So I'll be pushing that alittle more.
But yeah, 148 came from that.
(34:29):
I probably profited maybe 20bucks on that.
So, members, don't think I'mtaking barely any of that.
It really it covers costs andshipping, that's.
I've kept the cost down for you.
I just want people to wear aweb designer pro swag because,
number one, it gets you leadsand number two, I want that.
I want it to be repped.
So I'll do better at that.
Something I do have hidden I'm alittle leery about talking
(34:50):
about this cause.
I don't have too much time forthis, but I do.
Personal consultation, coachingcalls upon request for
non-members of pro and anyonewho wants to talk about circle
or um community building.
I currently value those at nine99 a month.
So I sold two personal coachingcalls in Q1.
(35:10):
So, um, nearly $2,000 of justone-on-one, one-hour calls,
which were both really great.
They were actually all aboutcommunity building.
Um, it's something I'mdefinitely interested in, but I
just don't have the time andbandwidth now.
I mean, I could absolutely comeout with a whole new community
and a whole new course aboutbeing a community builder, but I
know myself and I need to keepthe focus on pro to make sure we
(35:31):
continue to get it to be thebest thing thing it can be, and
then I'll probably have sometime and bandwidth to open up
some more consulting.
But I do that on a case by casebasis only, even when I'm
available.
But it is a.
It's a grand to talk to me foran hour if you want coaching and
consulting.
So again, web designer, promembers at the coaching tier for
(35:52):
one night at a month, I meanfor less than a couple.
You're getting what people arecharged or paying a thousand
dollars an hour for me.
You're getting my.
You know you're gettingcoaching via DM from me
personally, so the coaching tieris the absolute steel of a deal
.
And what designer pro, if youask me, uh, talk sponsorships,
(36:14):
affiliates.
We had.
I think it's the best quarterever in affiliate revenue at
$8,000, $186 and 74 cents.
The affiliates break down likethis Most of my affiliate
revenue comes from Circle.
I love Circle's affiliateprogram because it is recurring.
So with Divi like if I get asale on Divi it's one time, but
(36:37):
then I never see any ongoingCircle.
For anyone who uses my Circlelink, it helps because it is a
premium product.
Most circle uh communities arecharging.
You know most circle buildersare going to be at a $99 plan on
the low end and then 200 to 300.
Some of my circle affiliatesare paying 500 plus a month.
(37:00):
So, uh, that is a wonderfulrecurring revenue affiliate
source for me.
That was actually well over$4,000 in Q1 from Circle just in
affiliate revenue from using myCircle link on my YouTube
videos about Circle and in myrecommended tools With Divi made
$951.31 for Divi affiliates.
(37:23):
Local SEO Academy, which Imentioned a little bit ago.
That's actually one of my topaffiliates now because it is a
recurring model as well.
So, members who use my localSEO Academy link from web
designer pro, who want to learnlocal SEO, that was over $689.
So thank you, sam, keep itgoing.
Let's freaking rock and roll.
Let's help some people fathomwhich is the analytics tool that
(37:45):
I use and recommend.
Um, those are, it's 15 bucks amonth, so those stack up.
That was about a hundred.
That was 140 exactly for Q1, uhterm again, which is the
privacy policy generate audioauto up, generate auto updating
generation tool that I use andrecommend for Q1.
All the agencies who use mylink for that um get a special
(38:08):
deal and get some license free.
But that was 858.80 in Q1.
Content snare, my preferred toolfor collecting content, that
was over 379.
Site ground hosting was 300 forreferrals from that and I was a
part of the designer bosssummit and got 223.20 from uh
(38:30):
affiliate or affiliate sales whoupgraded into their power pack
for that summit.
Uh dub over doubled that withthe simply profitable designer
summit that Shannon matter puton, but that revenue didn't come
until April.
But altogether that was $8,186and 74 cents in affiliate
revenue.
So very happy about that.
(38:51):
Let's keep it going.
My friends and partners uh, I doget paid from YouTube.
Not a whole lot, generallyanywhere between 450 and 500
bucks a month for YouTube.
In Q1, youtube AdSense was1,491 and 20 cents.
Basically.
If you don't know, all myYouTube videos there's, there's
(39:12):
cost per click and I am a partof their AdSense program.
So I do get paid for for views, but it's all about the sponsors
on those videos.
My two most profitable videosare my manually migrating
WordPress video and subsequentlymy circle tutorial video.
So those are both the videosthat are the highest earners as
(39:35):
far as people advertisers payingfor cost per click.
So almost 1500 a month oralmost 1500 a quarter so far.
So I would love to boost thatup for sure.
I would love to get like I'dlove to get that to like two to
3000 a month and YouTube adrevenue.
So there's there's anotherlittle goal, because all of that
can chip away with this biggergoal of increasing the different
(39:58):
revenue streams.
So good challenge.
The different revenue streams,so good challenge.
And then I do get paid as aconsultant for in transit
studios.
I sold in transit in 2020.
It was not a sexy one-time sale.
What we agreed upon was aquarterly payout, uh, with a
certain percentage of the profitof the business, what the
product like, what the profit isquarterly.
So it was a small.
(40:19):
It was definitely a lowerquarter.
Um, that well, so this payoutwas in January, but it was for
Q4.
So, and it was a, it was a tie.
It was a lower Q4 for intransit, for sure, that was
1,167, uh, for Q4, but waybetter.
And, uh, I know I already sentthe invoice out for for Q2,
(40:40):
which was for Q1 in 2025, whichwas way better.
But, eric, let me know, youknow, q3, or sorry, wow, I made
this so confusing Q4 of 2024, he, let me know, a little bit
lower than usual anticipated.
All that totals to again$120,288.09.
(41:00):
But again, over $5,000 of thatdidn't come until April.
So the total reflection was 115minus a little over $27,000 in
business expenses and taxes, which left us at almost $90,000
profit.
So there we go, friends, myfirst ever income report and
(41:20):
quarterly recap.
I hope you enjoyed this.
I'd love to know if you didAgain.

Um, so jump on into web centerpro to get my newsletter, all my
courses, all the goods we'vetalked about.
Uh and yeah, I'm, I'm really.
Yeah, this is good.
Like I think I would love to bea little further in this, but
(42:03):
it's.
This is good and stable andagain with my goal of being on
track for 500 K this year, in2025, this is a great start,
especially considering we wererebounding from a lower 2022 and
a really low 23 compared towhere I wanted to be.
So this is all part of therebound and all part of the
wonderful wild world and journeyof business.
(42:24):
My friends, thanks for tuning in.
