A friend shared with Beth that she had been told to wait until the divorce was over to start focusing on healing. Beth was shocked and did not agree with that advice at all. Robin and Beth believe that we should start healing as soon as we possibly can.

I, Beth, felt so validated when I read the book Prodepence: Moving Beyond Codepedency. I wasn't co-dependent. I was doing my best to love the addict I was married to and hold my family together in spite of the bad advice I had been given. I breathed a sigh of relief. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is caring for a loved one in the throes of addiction whether it is sexual addiction or something else.

While we do not endorse separation or divorce, we also know that it comes to that for safety of self and the family at times. We do not cast stones, we have been in that position and both of us are now divorced.
