You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Okay, so a free agent move. So Milton Williams the
best defensive tackle on the market, and there are a
lot of gms in the NFL that believe defensive tackles
are more valuable than rush ins. That is kind of
a two to three year trend. So Milton Williams he
goes to the Patriots. Now, he had five sacks last
year from an interior position. He's the best defensive tackle
(00:46):
on the market. Now, they're going to pay twenty six
million a year. That's an overpay, right, he's probably worth
six He's probably worth eighteen. But they have so much
cap space and they've been very prudent with their previous moves.
I don't have a big problem with it. And also
I think it fits Vrabel's profile. Okay, Rabel's a tough guy.
He wants physicality. You start looking at the moves linebacker,
(01:09):
defensive tackle, number two, corner, veteran tight end. He not
wasting money on stuff he's doing in between these tackles
toward the football. So Milton Williams lands in, Mike garofflo
is breaking that thing. Garifalo, nice job, Mike. Milton Williams
a bit of an overpay. But again, when you have
(01:31):
like two hundred plus million and you're gonna overpay, there
are worse positions to overpay than defensive tackle, left tackle, quarterback.
You're gonna overpay. You're not gonna get a value proposition
on every single guy that you get. So I mean
New England. Now, there was a young defiant sportscaster who
said New England would be the most improved team in
(01:51):
the NFL this year. Oh I forgot that was me.
And they have just found six starters in counting their
moves with that chanting fry boy, he's in light in
the world, world throwing haymakers.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Get the game makers. No, I'm just trying to defend
my young guys. Man, just trying to defend my young guys.
You know, I'm on social media all the time, like
just seeing what's going on? And these conversations are kind
of getting wild, and I'm like, man, we bashed the league,
but we're not really watching the league. There's so many
great things about the league. And I was just like, dude,
(02:30):
why are we constantly going back of like, well, this
isn't this and this isn't that. And I'm like, man,
take the time to look at like some of the
great stories and some of the best stories this year
are obviously okay, see the Lakers are a great story.
But one story that nobody's really talking about the Pistons.
Did they win fourteen games last year?
Speaker 4 (02:48):
I know this is a while.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
You didn't think we were going to talk about this,
Like the Pistons were a joke last year, and if
you watch them, they are beating everybody. Yeah, Like, let's
talk about these young teams, and you know, I think
we want the league to be simpler in a superstar league.
This generation, this new era is not superstar league anymore.
Like you got to have a full team. Look at Boston,
(03:11):
they're a team. Yeah, okay, see is a team a
complete team?
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Right?
Speaker 3 (03:16):
You look at the Cavs a complete team.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
So for me, I was like, let's talk about that, right.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
We want players growing up to play and be a
part of a team, and now teams are being rewarded.
We've had seven different champions in seven years, but we
don't talk about the parody of the NBA.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
And this year it's a crapshoot. Who might win?
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah? You know, you know what I think has happened.
I think that the league is so global and so talented.
There used to be to me, there used to be
a huge gap between like Magic and MJ and then
as a gap, I don't feel there's much of a gap.
I mean, I think Jokich is the best player, and
(03:56):
then I think you yet about nine guys Sga, Jannis Luke, Lebron,
Steph Tatum and all good. And I think it's like
the PGA Tour. You know, back years ago it was
Jack or maybe Tiger, and those are historically unbelievable players.
Now what's the difference between Rory McElroy and the sixteenth player? Like,
(04:18):
they're all good, they can all along off the t
So I watched the NBA all weekend. I loved it.
I will say this. I'll start with this. I'm gonna
give SGA the MVP for two reasons. Primarily, he's got
a younger roster and you know this, playing with kids
is harder, and his number two player, chet Holmgren, is
hurt a lot, so he is babysitting offensively on a
(04:41):
lot of nights. Secondly, is the team's much better? I
could also say thirty's a much better defender, but I
don't think it's best player. Otherwise Michael would have more
than five MVPs. I'm gonna go SGA, what say you?
Speaker 4 (04:55):
And now I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I feel like Jokic is this generation best complete offensive player.
I think you look at when he's on the court
and there plus minus, I think it's historically the best
ever and it's also the worst ever, right and that's
on Denver. So I don't want to take that away
(05:16):
from from Jokic, But when he's not playing, they are
not good at all. But when SGA doesn't play, this
team is still elite.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
True.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
I think SGA anchors well the best, if not the
best defense in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
I think to me, that gives him the edge.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
And I'm glad you brought it up, because the best
player is not always the MVP. This is SGA season
being in the MVP last year, being in it this year,
his growth, He's gotten.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Better from last year.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
He's added something to his game this year, and for him,
his teammates get to eat off the plate and he
still averages dang near forty points right shooting efficiently. I
think Jokich is absolutely amazing.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Man.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I just feel like they've taken things away and he said, okay,
I'll step up.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
But this is SGA's year. Yeah, this is just his year.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
No, and that I think it's well stated.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
in Noone Eastern non am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
So you know, I watched Luca and the Lakers. Lucas
planning himself in his shape. He was gone for a
long time. It's just hard, man. These are the world's
best athletes. He's not ever a great defender, and I
thought in the first half he got worked. I mean,
Tatum looked like the best player on the planet. Luke
looked like he was at the y. He couldn't defend anything.
He was, but it was it was a weird spot.
(06:44):
He's still working himself in a shape. You fly six hours,
blah blah blah. But I but I will say this
is that I don't mind Lebron after a little growing tweak.
I said this earlier. Lebron said, all right, Daddy's gonna
take a couple of weeks off. I've been carrying this.
I've been carrying this unit. All you young guys are
limping and can't play. I'm over it. Are you okay
(07:07):
with where Luca is at physically right now or did
you think it would be more consistently great at this point?
Speaker 4 (07:17):
No, I think and it's gonna be a long winned answer. One.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I think Luca was a shock of getting traded, and
I think it messed his swag up, getting traded like
that in the middle of the night, you know, getting
snatched up like the.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Bad kids going to bad kid camp. You know how
they wake them up and you know, with the bugle
and send them out.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
I think Luca is now getting his swag back, you know,
whether Bronze growing is out a week or two weeks.
I think this is going to be great for Luca
because in the second part of this is the Boston.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Celtics took that game very serious.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Like I can't remember a game where Jason Datum and
Jalen Brown played forty plus minutes. Yeah, like they took
that game very serious and I love to see that
from them, But I think it showed the Lakers which
they wanted to that Lucas still needs. He might be
a six, give us an eight eight and a half
before the playoffs, and now Braun being out, this is
(08:14):
gonna be great for him because he's gonna he plays
just like Broun, but now he's gonna have to do
this for longer. He's gonna have to get this team
going for me. Also, the Boston Celtics defensively are a lot.
They are a lot, and to be in that type
of condition, imagine you start off with Derek White on you,
(08:35):
then you have Jalen Brown on you, then you get
Drew Holliday on you, then you get Jason Tatum on you,
and then those five or six other possessions, you got
Al Horford sending you to one of those guys.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
So the Boston Celtics are a great team.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
But this is gonna be interesting to see how he
gets his his umph back, where he gets his swag back,
where he gets that attitude back, Like I want to
see a couple of technicals. I want to see, yeah,
you know, Luca cussing out the refs, Like, I want
to see a little bit of that back in these
next two weeks.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
It's a guy that played in the NBA for thirteen seasons, smart,
veteran guy respected. I watched Steph so I was a
huge proponent my take on the Jimmy Butler trade. I'm like,
just get him in the building. I Steph's on a
treadmill to nowhere. He's an all time legend. He's bored
out of his mind. But even I am surprised he
(09:26):
went from twenty to a game to thirty. He's averaging
seven more points with one more shot. Are you surprised
at Like he's a different player than he was a
month ago? Are you shocked at all?
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Shot shot? I didn't think it would happen so quickly.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I just let's say, Jimmy Butler, what he does off
the court out the way, the dude is a savant
and I and I just it's amazing when you watch him,
he's so dang efficient, like and he just makes the
right play every time.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
And when you see Steph with the smile.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
When you see Steph doing the good night, when you
see him running around more, that's dangerous for the league,
Like that is not fun to play against. And now
you have two guys Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler who
are making everyone better. And then when things go start,
like when you know teams start to go on runs,
Jimmy's like, hold on, guys, I got it. I'm gonna
(10:26):
get to that free throw line. The craziest statu is
Jimmy I think is fourth and free throws attempted.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
And he's only been there eleven games.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Like that's how much he gets to the free throw line,
slows the game down, allows Golden State to get their
defense at and offensively, he just like, oh you're open, boom,
open play. There was the averaging like seventeen on nine shots.
Think it's it's wild to see how that how that went.
Now I see underneath this little thing it says are
they title contenders? I would never say no, but I'm
(11:00):
gonna say they are not who you want to match
up with in the first round.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Yeah, but you don't want them match up in the
first round.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
And if they get steam Roland in the West, I
think it's anybody. So I know, Okase, he is great
and people are gonna get mad. But I think in
the West, if one team gets hot or there's a
weird injury, I think anybody.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Could take it.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Yeah, the I want to end with this. So I've
said I take a lot of heat for my Jason
Tatum takes and I And it's funny because and I
always say, listen, he's a great player. Like you can
argue he's I think you can start at about the
fifth best player in the league and from that point
on you can win the argument. I'd probably have him six.
(11:41):
But he was great Saturday night. But yeah, I've said
this before. There are players in the league that retire
like Carl Malone, great all time player, man, we don't
talk about him. And then there's guys like Magic and
Bird and Doctor Jay or Michael Shack We're gonna talk
about in twenty years from now. So I like Tatum
(12:02):
a lot. I think he literally fits on everybody's team,
But I just don't see him his face of the league. Guy,
how does it land for you?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah, I just think Jason Tatum were bored with his greatness.
He came in the league and he was great. He's
gone through his ups and downs. He finally wins, he
wins a gold medal, and he does everything and we
want to talk about how he.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Sent the bench for the Olympics, right.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
I think Jason Tatum is this version of Tim Duncan,
Like he just goes about his business.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
He wins, his team is great.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
We never hear about anything he does in the media. Also,
he addresses like the fact that he's getting four, five, six, eight,
ten twelve assists a game now, he's not settling for
step backs.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
He's going downhill.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
So everything that we say, ooh, that's what they need
to do to win, he's doing this. His playmaking has
gotten so much better. I think his leadership has gotten better,
meaning not in being a hoo rah guy, but knowing
time and score. Jason Tatum is a great, great player.
He's just not He's not a media darling. He just
(13:10):
wants to go hoop and go home and do his thing.
And you know the fact that he's on the Boston
Celtics doesn't help.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
You know, you're gonna get roasted.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
It's either you love the Celtics or you like the
rest of the league.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Like it's just a fact.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
But when Jason Tatum is done, we're gonna have real
conversations whenever he retires in a long long time from
now about where he is on that list of greatest
Celtics because what he has done from the time he's
got there has been unreal for a young kid like this,
and it's exciting to know what is he like twenty six?
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, twenty seven, twenty seven? I think, yeah, like what,
he's twenty seven?
Speaker 3 (13:50):
This is ridiculous. He's what nine years in the league,
he's twenty seven and he hadn't even hit his prime yet.
And that's what's even scarier.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
You do. Great work, Channing Fry.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yeah, you're we get into the you know, the May
and June stuff. And if you're ever in LA. You
live in Portland, now, don't you a little.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah, yeah, dude, I'll pop my head down. That's nothing
but a quick little Alaska flight.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
That's right, you're flying the right airline out of Portland.
Good seeing you, my man, good scene you too.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Ah, Channing Fry, good dude knows his stuff and I
love that. Oh look at this totally moly. Sam Darnold
three years, one hundred and ten million dollar deal with
the Seahawks. So again, look at the number, three years,
one hundred and ten million. Was that thirty four to
(14:43):
thirty three and a half. I'm not good math. What
have we got about? Thirty five million a year? Thirty
five and a half, thirty six So he's six months
younger than Joe Burrow, five months younger than Lamar Jackson,
a year younger than Josh Allen, and you get him
for thirty five thirty six million bucks. You get he
got a Baker Mayfield contract. Sorry for butchering the math,
(15:04):
he got a Baker Mayfield contract. I'm totally comfortable. You know,
Gino wanted ten million more than this, and I think
Donald's better than Gino. Maybe not by a lot, but
he's better. And he's also in his prime. You know,
Gino is a young what is he thirty three thirty four?
Sam is younger than many of the elite quarterbacks in
(15:24):
the league. So I'm telling you, I think John Snyder
is a really effective GM. He's like, we like Gino,
we don't like the number. We like Donald. We like
the number. We've been saying this for six months Sam
coming back West SC San Francisco. Now he's with the Seahawks.
(15:45):
This is a good number for Sam. Same thing. They
like DK Metcalf, but they got a pick and they
didn't want to pay him what DK Metcalf thirty one
million a year, So they got a quarterback for slightly
more than DK Metcalf what it cost him. That's good GMing.
I mean DK was thirty one million, this guy's thirty five.
(16:07):
Thirty's eight million, and he touches the ball every offensive
snap and he's still in his prime and he doesn't
cause any headaches. So I mean, let's see. Yeah, basically
Sam signed a deal that is basically a salary cap
adjusted version of the contract Geno got in twenty twenty three,
(16:31):
a very reasonable contract. So you're seeing really good GMing
and very weird GMing today. Love what the Patriots are doing,
Love this move by John Snyder. I like what they
did in Tampa. I love what the Chicago Bears did,
which is shocking to say that. So there's been some
very good GMing.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
So Colin essentially with fifty five million guaranteed to Darnold,
this is a two year deal.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
That's right at twenty seven million.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (17:00):
I know that everybody wants to see one hundred and
ten milh my gosh, it's really fifty five mil guaranteed
for two years.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
That's what it is. Yeah, and at twenty seven million years,
that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
That's that's the Baker team.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
I mean, it's gonna be good, but they're gonna be
like a five hundred team at best.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Be very careful with you.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
Go ahead, go ahead, put them in Patriots territory if
you want, go for it.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I have them battling the Niners for number two in
the division.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
You can't want them all calling well last.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Year I almost did. You gotta be honest. Uh, all right,
what a show? So much fun? Better go by my
Seahawk Jersey. Okay, live in Los Angeles, it's the Herd.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays

of sports and pop culture, stories that well, other shows
don't seem to have the time to discuss. And the
fact that we've been friends for the last twenty years
and still work together.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
I mean that says something, right, So check us out.
We like to get you involved too. Take your phone calls,
chop it up.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
As they say, I'd say the most interactive show on
Fox Sports Radio, maybe the most interactive show on planetar.

social media.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
That's Covino and Rich. Woo, I am so here we go.
Jay Mack, Oh you have it in your update. I'm
gonna let j Mack take this. He's gonna have a
nervous breakdown.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Does stop us?
Speaker 1 (18:57):
So Sam Darnold's deal is only one hundred million, not
one ten. So that's even better for the Seahawks. I
mean they got to deal with Sam Darnold. It's it's
less than Baker's contract.
Speaker 6 (19:07):
And I will say some people have pointed out how
bad the offensive line is in Seattle.
Speaker 5 (19:12):
If you look at the guys last year, cross.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
Played well, but other than that, across the board it
was a poop poop platter to put it best.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
So good luck to Sammy d in Seattle.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
With JSN, a couple other receivers, oh oha fans a
solid tight end. The running back Kenneth Walker's always hurt Walker.
That's a six or seven with team at best.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
All right, j Mark, he's getting a little snarky with
the news.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Turn on the news.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
This is the herd line news, all right.
Speaker 6 (19:45):
So we're gonna start with the Patriots because they've been
in the seller for a few years now, they're coming out.
Look at all these signings, they had all them cap space,
Mike Rabel's the new coach, and they have been on
a spending spree.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
Colin. They are going crazy.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
Like when you go to Vegas as a young guy
for the first time, you just gambling. You're out of
money in like two hours, you're just spending. Look at
what the Patriots have done.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
Milton Williams.
Speaker 6 (20:08):
They get him from Philly to anchor the middle of
the defensive line a four year deal. Carlton Davis will
play number two corner opposite all the young superstars.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
So many of the is like our defensive tough guy positions.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
Just look at that Harold Landry's coming off the edge.
Spallaine a tough linebacker in the middle. He's kind of
bounced around the league, but I thought he.
Speaker 5 (20:25):
Was good at bare was good player.
Speaker 6 (20:26):
Morgan Moses will be their right tackle, and then Austin
Hooper was re signed to be like their number two
or three tight end. Listen, man, they're not going to
be terrible. I'm not saying they're making the leap like
you are. But they are on the uptick.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
And you got Brabel as a good coach.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Looks like my predictions. Rounding in the phone.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
You got Drake May. Who are you buying for the
next three years? Drake May or Sam.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Darmand well, Drake May, I think is I think Drake
May with Rabel is going to be really, really interesting.
I also don't think you have Kyle Shanahan and your
division and Sean mcvahun great point.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
All right, ll let's get to the better team in
the NFC. I'm sorry the AFC East, and that's my
New York Jets. They have just connected with Justin Fields
on a two year, forty million dollar deal. Put the
siren on the screen. The Jets have a quarterback. I
don't totally know how I feel about this yet. I
need some time to process it. Right, thirty mil guaranteed
(21:22):
for Justin Fields. It's pretty clear Pittsburgh was not willing
to make him their number one starter, right, and the
Jets had come on down.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
We've got nobody in the quarterback room. It's your show.
Speaker 6 (21:33):
Justin Fields will quarterback the Jets on a two year deal.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Well, he's reuniting with Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
Oh that's right, good call. I forgot about that Ohio
State guys.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah. Well, I just did my AFC predictions during the break.
You've banged out all the divisions just AFC. So where
the Jets fourth place?
Speaker 5 (21:55):
How many wins?
Speaker 1 (21:56):
I didn't do wins? I have my seven playoff teams
as of this morning for next year. Buffalo, New England
in the AFC East, Baltimore solely Baltimore in the AFC North.
No Bengals, Nope, come on, oh wow, Chargers win the division,
Kansas City wild Card and Tennessee and Houston Tennessee. W Yeah,
(22:18):
I'm gonna go. I think I like Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
Well, they gotta get cam Ward for well.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Nobody has Also, nobody has film on cam Ward the
first until Thanksgiving. You're just kind of guessing what cam
Ward can do. Nobody's seen him play like CJ. Stroudge
rookie year, You're like, all right, here we go. So,
I mean, it's gonna take the It does takes the
league one off season to figure you out. That's why
you've heard of the sophomore slump for quarterbacks. So cam
Ward's gonna surprise a lot of people. They're Jaydon Daniels.
(22:43):
It's like, I honestly, it wasn't until like Philadelphia where
it felt like a team kind of figured it out.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
You have the Broncos dropping out.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Huh, They're They're my toughest team to figure out because
the division is so good.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
Steelers dropping off those surprise So just to revisit Jet
justin fields are they like an exciting team and interesting
team though they're nothing.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
No New York football stinks period.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
Sorry, right, if we won't make this a jetso this fall,
I know the audience is gonna be cresfalling.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
Final story coms to.
Speaker 6 (23:14):
The NBA where the MAVs continue to circle the drain.
After that Luca ad swap, it's starting to feel like
the team is cursed. Fans have been upset with Nico
Harrison since the deal, but the aide but Anthony Davis,
tried to calm everybody down.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
With this interview on Saturday. Get ready for this Colin.
Speaker 8 (23:31):
You know, I know Hawaiim as a player. You know,
I'm top seventy five of all time, you know. And
now I just wanted to let the Dallas fan there
like like I gotcha, I'm you know, I'm here.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
You know I'm here now.
Speaker 8 (23:41):
So like, I know, you lost, you know, a superstar
in Luca, but you also gained, you know, a superstar
of myself.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
You know he's right by the way. I know, it
doesn't it doesn't sit well with Maverick fans. He's a
great player, but he.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
Just put himself in the category as Luca. We're both superstars.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Well, I got news for you he's defensively, Lucas the
worst star defender in the league. He's the best ad.
So that's that's twenty five percent of your game. It's
not close. And by the way, right now, he's in
better shape if he was healthy than Luca.
Speaker 5 (24:14):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
By the way, that you know, we got stuff to
talk about. Okay, Aaron Rodgers, where's his market?
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Who's left?
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Daniel Jones?
Speaker 6 (24:27):
But I mean Aaron's got to be the Giants in right,
They're the only team without.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
A You think Aaron Rodgers are the Giants?
Speaker 4 (24:33):
That is all?
Speaker 5 (24:34):
You be holding out hope for the Niners.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
I think he is. If Aaron takes a small market
or a small offer and pretty gets stubborn, I'm going
with Aaron.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
Rodgers, Deelers, Giants or Niners.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Maybe I would take the Niners in a heartbeat. Plus,
he's from the area. He's a West Coast guy. Can
private jet den of Malibu in an hour and ten minutes.
Speaker 5 (24:55):
Shanahan and Lynch want to deal with that headache. That's
all he is now? A headache.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Oh come on, He's not just a headache. He's just
he's a little bit of a moody your veteran player
who's setting his ways.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
That's what I'm looking for, a moody veteran quarterback.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Moody.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Well, I mean it's that's not being unfair. I think
it's fair to I've heard that for people who played
with him when he was in his prime. You know,
sometimes you don't quite know what you're getting. But whatever,
I don't care. He's great and he's still good.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
One great word that sums up Aaron Rodgers. What but
it's inappropriate for the air.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
Oh, come on, whatever, he's just he's a jerk.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
Come on, that's fair. That's fair to say.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Well, no, that's not fair to say. He can be
Does his family talk to him?
Speaker 5 (25:35):
I think teammates around the league, except for Demonte, I.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Think Aaron is a little like Trump. They give off
the same energy that they receive. I've known people who
you I wouldn't think would get along with Trump who
have gotten along with Trump. If you give Trump a
certain energy, you can get along.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Well, he's just trolling as a president. I mean, it's
not like Aaron Rodgers is coming out. We're gonna make
what feelers needed to get. He's not gonna do something
with the line.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
I think Aaron gives you the energy that you give him,
and that's why that's that's his personal. Oh hey, here's
news for the Cowboys. They signed a long snapper. I
just saw it. Cowboys just a three year deal and
a long snapper. Whoa, but the party hats on. Get
the balloons, Crystall, I mean long snapper. You better be
(26:26):
real long. They need it, all right. J Mack with
the news.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Well that's the news and stopping by.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
So I gave you my AFC playoff. This is just
off the top. We still got we still got ways
to go. So after the after this week, I will
get maybe on Thursday or Friday, after the guys are signed.
I do by five different division predictions and I'm allowed
like three changes. So I told you right now. I
have Buffalo and New England in the playoffs, Baltimore in
(26:56):
the playoffs, Chargers Kansas in the playoffs, Tennessee and Houston
in the NFC. I've got Philly, Washington. I'm gonna go.
Detroit wins the division. Chicago finishes second over Green Bay
and Mini so are green.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
Bay of Minnesota not making the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Came Rams Niners make it and Tampa makes it. Somebody
good's not making the playoffs right now. I don't have
Green Bay in and that is not a shot that
division right now, Jesus, I mean Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay, Minnesota.
If you just took that division, just that division and
(27:38):
built a Pro Bowl offense, just on the NFC North,
it could compete with the league.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
Hold on, let me just so.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
The Vikings, I believe won fourteen games last season, right, They're.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Not gonna do that. So, okay, they're gonna win eight?
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Is donald Worth like six wins?
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Come on?
Speaker 1 (27:57):
No, No, Donald's going to Seattle. I have them finishing third.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
So what are they dropping to? Eight wins?
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Eight to nine? I think it's a very good division.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
And the Packers you have with your boy Jordan love
who you love what?
Speaker 1 (28:10):
I think? I have them winning like nine games. But
I think I have Chicago Bears the playoff team. I
did not, by the way, after all those moves last year.
I had them in four.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
That's a good call.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
I have the Bears right now. Offensive coach Caleb's second
year guard center guard, elite players. I have the Bears
the playoff team.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
I'll tell you right Vikings are packers. One of them
is making it. They have to come on if anybody
drops his alliance.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Okay, so let me let me ask. Let me think
about this. You have to have four minimum new teams
in the playoffs. So New England would be new, Tennessee
would be new, Chicago would be new. San Francisco would
be new. So I'd have four new playoff teams, which is,
by the.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
Way, Sanfrey definitely coming back to the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Well, they have twelve draft picks. Okay, so my if
they hit on six and Herd he's there, and Christian's
back and I yukes back, I think that's a ten
win team. I don't make it a thirteen win team,
but I think it's a ten win team. Let's not
let the pendulum swing so far.
Speaker 6 (29:11):
Washington's definitely coming back. Yeah, okay, just make it sure.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
I would agree NFC's tougher than the AFC.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
It is because I'm taking Lamar, Josh Allen Mahomes, Herbert C. J. Stroud,
I'm given ten. You gotta have at least four new
playoff teams, and it'll probably be closer to six.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
So who's coaching the Bengals in twenty twenty six, because
if they miss the playoffs again, there's.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
No ways that I have him finishing second.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
But missing the playoffs right well, if you.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Missed the playoffs on the last weekend, you're not gonna.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
Fin No, no, no, no no. It's that Joe Burrow.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
It's Cincinnati. They don't fire coaches. They let you play
out the string. That's Cincinnati.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
If the Bengals and Jets called you tomorrow to ask
about consulting, who's more desperate out of those two franchises
right now?
Speaker 1 (29:56):
The Jets.
Speaker 5 (29:59):
Hoping you'd say Ben because it sounds like you're way
down on them.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
I have him finishing second. I'm way down on the Steelers.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
Got a top four quarterback in the league. They should
be in the playoffs every year.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Also, remember the Vikings were nine and one last year
in one score games. That just doesn't that never trans
It's like it's like the fumble stat like a team
will fumble twenty eight times and recover twenty two. That's luck.
When you go nine and one in one possession games,
you go five and four, four and five the next year.
(30:29):
So if you you know, if you just have regression
in one store games, with JJ McCarthy as the first
year starter. I think Minnesota at eight to nine wins
is a realistic take.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
For what it's worth.
Speaker 6 (30:41):
I think the Chiefs were like ten and zero in
one score games last year. And I'm just telling you
that that's fine. That Mames, let's keep an eye on that.
I think Chiefs are falling.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Kind of what a day today.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
It's a lot of news.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Jammy Darnold going to the Seahawks for a really good number. Man,
all right, So should I do? Should I just lay
it out tomorrow?
Speaker 7 (31:07):
Marke?
Speaker 6 (31:07):
I think you need to give this some time to
internalize everything.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
A little hot takey on a couple of these What
war was that?
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Hot takey?
Speaker 5 (31:16):
How can you have the Packers out of the playoffs?
You basically had them in the super Bowl last year?
Speaker 1 (31:22):
This time you love the last year you had Aaron
Rodgers and the Jets winning the division and you're calling
my my comment of I love the Bears interior linement
signings is hot takey. I think Bravel's making mostly smart.
That's that's taught. Takey. You know what Miami?
Speaker 5 (31:40):
Do you have Miami?
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Nope, Nope, I haven't finished.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
A lot of good teams you have missing the play.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
That's tough for a lot of people.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
Especially the Jets.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Justin fields though, that's that's they'll get a lot of
primetime games because of just you.
Speaker 5 (31:54):
Know they won't. No, none.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, I'm not playa Hayton. I'm this situation Hayden
