Mama’s Tired

Mama’s Tired

Do you wish you had enough time in your day to get everything done? Are you tired of feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and impatient with your kids? Do you wonder what it would be like to say “no” and prioritize your needs for a change? I am so excited you’re here! This podcast is for the mamas who are doing all the things and running on empty. If you are looking to regain your peace, become a more patient mom, and finally have the time to be fully present with your family instead of worrying about everything that needs to be done, then this show is for you. Hey, I’m Rachel. A wife, child of God, and fellow mama in the trenches. For years, my days felt chaotic, my time felt hijacked, and peace felt like a fantasy. I was living in survival mode, placing my hope in planners and to-do lists. I finally realized that if I was going to have a peaceful home and stop letting the enemy steal my joy and my time, I needed to implement systems to get me there. I created a routine that fits ME and my family. A simple strategy that we could actually stick with. A lifestyle that made managing our time not just doable, but sustainable . And I’m ready to share it with you! Each week, we will talk routines, time hacks, mindset shifts, and real-life ways to bring calm back into your home and heart. Because burnout isn’t the plan. Let’s reset and find the peace you’ve been craving together. Heat up your morning coffee and throw that laundry back in the dryer, my friend. It’s time to jump in.

When women come to me to work together on their nutrition, I always end up hearing so many sad stories. These women are living lives where they’ve been skipping meals for years in order to lose weight. When they do eventually end up eating, they are terrified of carbs or eating over the 1,200 calories we've all been conditioned to think is a "magic" number. The nutrition world has come so far, and yet, the bad advice g...

There is a strong correlation between our nutrition and mental health. Unfortunately, the American diet is overloaded with processed foods that can lead to an increased risk of depression, cognitive impairment, and ADHD. On the flip side, a diet that centers around nutritious whole foods can actually help prevent many mental illnesses in most cases.

Food dye is a chemical substance that was created to give food an artificial color, therefore “enhancing” the appearance and appeal of the food. There is quite a bit of controversy over the safety of food dyes, with some groups claiming they are toxic and lead to all sorts of medical issues, while other groups agree they are completely safe for consumption.

All of us with school aged children are gearing up for the back-to-school routine, and it can be stressful. When we think about all that has to be done, it can be daunting. We have to get the kids up, dressed, breakfast on the table, snacks and lunch packed, be a taxi driver to after school events, get dinner on the table, and it adds pressure to an already busy life. While these tips won’t take away the entire back-to...

I have been a certified nutrition coach for 7 years, and I still cannot get over hearing all the crazy diet myths that have been passed down through the years. Almost every day, I hear someone bring up a myth about health and nutrition that will not die. This is one of the biggest reasons I feel it’s part of my calling to help spread God’s truth about our bodies and how to feed them as He intended. I also feel like it’...

We have reached the point of summer where people start to get discouraged about the progress they’ve made toward all the goals they set at the beginning of the year when they decided they wanted to work on getting healthy and fitting into their favorite pair of shorts again. Summer brings so many things to potentially derail you and make you want to throw your hands in the air and quit. You see no reason to try to do i...

I used to live between two extremes when it came to vacation: I would either throw caution to the wind and eat all the food in sight, or  I would stress about how much weight I was going to gain and restrict myself for days to try to get the number on the scale to go down.

I have had several clients come to me within the last few weeks asking questions about what to do while traveling to stay on track an...

A question I get asked quite often: Should I work out when I’m not feeling well?

This is where you have to get really good at listening to your body. Are you in a state of depletion where your body is truly needing rest and recovery to heal, or would some mild to moderate physical activity actually help you feel better?

In this episode, I dive into what to do in each scenario, as well as t...

Our household has been flooded with sickness the last couple weeks, so I thought it would be fun to re-release one of my favorite episodes with my favorite person: my husband, Jordan! We recorded this epiosde back in 2022, and while so many things have changed, so many of them still remain the same.

Having a healthy relationship requires commitment. We talk a lot about how important it is to keep God at the center of it all first ...

This is typically the time of year when people start to think about toning up for the summer. Unfortunately, most people immediately go straight  to crash diets and massive amounts of cardio, thinking that is the solution, even though it never is.

There is so much science with research behind it proving that strength training is the answer to getting toned. You are never going to see tone unless you scul...

Like most families who celebrate, our family has certain traditions that we do each year on Easter. As with most traditional holidays, a lot of these traditions are centered around food and family. Today’s podcast episode was inspired by a question I received from one of my current clients inside my 6 week private nutrition program. I am so glad she asked this question because I feel like anyone who has gone on a “diet...

I have realized that most of the time when someone throws themselves into something with an all or nothing mindset, it is truly because they want to do it right. They want a set of guidelines or rules to follow, and then they want to stick to it. When they don’t, they assume they failed and they go back to the old habits that bring them comfort because no one likes to feel like a failure. Life doesn’t stop happening ju...

My goal is to help you achieve lasting weight loss without living in a constant state of deprivation. Deprivation does not just mean feeling deprived, but actually BEING deprived. When women severely restrict calories, it becomes really easy to restrict essential nutrients as well. There’s a right way and a wrong way, a healthy way and an unhealthy way, to lose weight. When you decide to give your body what it needs in...

Most of us are chronically tired and overly stressed. So many of us are caught up in the everyday grind that has become the norm of life, and rest for ourselves simply gets put on the back burner. Rest is more than just restoration for your tired body. It's a restoration for your tired soul as well. When we continually try to carry our heavy load in our own strength, we get burdened down. Food can be an idol just like anything else in our lives. It can consume our thoughts, our attitudes, and our actions. It can be something we constantly think about, dwell on, or even covet. Our contentment and satisfaction should be found in Christ alone, and when that begins to fade, food can creep in and take its place.

When we put the food we eat or the number on the scale before God, we are truly mis...
