Tuesday with Toya began in 2021 as a way to stay connected with fellow songwriters and artists during an isolating time and it quickly became a platform to celebrate the incredible talent in the Pacific Northwest. What started as a simple Instagram Live series has grown into 150 episodes featuring over 130 artists, from Tacoma’s hidden gems to rising regional stars. At its heart, Tuesday with Toya is about storytelling, creativity, and emotional truth. Each conversation invites listeners into the heart of the artist — how they create, what they’ve overcome, and why they keep making music. It’s a space for reflection, laughter, and genuine connection. I’m thrilled to bring Tuesday with Toya to Radio Tacoma and streaming platforms for Season 5, starting with my interview with neo-jazz alt-pop artist Raegan Leilani. Her sound is rich, textured, and rooted in the same creative spirit that makes Tacoma shine. I can’t wait to share more voices with you, one conversation at a time.
Toya chats with fellow Tacoma artist and organizer Brittany Danielle about how Cascade Music Alliance grew from a pandemic-era desire to uplift the local music scene. They talk collaboration, creative risks, and their mission to connect artists, including their upcoming “Tacoma Tune-In” event, Tuesday, August 19, at Wright Park from 6-8 PM.
After deep loss and years away from music, Michael Jeffrey found his way back through songwriting. In this episode, we discuss his new album Trail Back Home, the healing power of song, and how music helped him rediscover his truth when everything else fell apart.
In this episode of Tuesday with Toya, Kevvy of Swavy joins the show to talk about the journey from band burnout to musical revival, the instinctive creative process behind Swavy’s sound, and the joy of co-writing music that sticks. Don’t miss stories from behind the scenes...including w...
In this episode, Tacoma artist Coldboulder joins Toya to talk about Lucy, Vol. 1, an EP built for the misfits: the tracks that didn’t quite fit elsewhere but still demanded to be heard. He shares how this release became a creative container, a fan gift, and a bridge to something new. Tune in for reflections on artistic direction, letting go of perfection, and making room for what doesn’t make sense... until it does.
In this solo episode, Victoria "Toya" Fragoso shares the story behind Tuesday with Toya — how it began, what’s evolving in Season 5, and why local music still matters. A tender and inspiring listen for anyone processing change and findi...
