Inside R Phillies

Welcome to the official podcast of r/Phillies! Inside R Phillies is all about having a home for rational Phillies fans, where we will release episodes at least once a week. We’ll talk about the happenings of the team on and off of the field, theorycraft moves that the team could make in the future, reminisce on the past, and uniquely incorporate our Reddit community by taking listener questions and bringing guests on. I hope you enjoy your time here, and stick around as we build this community!

The Phillies won 2 of 3 against the Marlins this week in a series that really didn't mean very much, but was fun nonetheless. It's spring training part two, electric boogaloo.

The Phillies have done it! Despite being predicted to finish in 3rd place in the NL East, they have won the division in dominant fashion. They have the largest division lead in baseball, and after winning 2/3 against the Dodgers, are very close to clinching a bye. This team looks to be firing on all cylinders.

We thought the Mariners series was going to be the peak of this regular season... before the Phillies swept the Mets over 4 games in Philadelphia, solidifying themselves as the extraordinarily likely favorites to win the NL East, and sending the Mets home to pitch against Jacob DeGrom, with their season on the line. Listen for pure vibes and happiness.

The Phillies had a series full of optimism up until the last several innings of Sunday's game, where Trea Turner injured his hamstring after running out a ground ball. This injury could change the complexion of the season, but be sure to listen to find out our takes. A big series against the Mets starts tomorrow as well. These are exciting times as a chill pops into the evening air.

The Phillies went on the road this week to play baseball's best team, the Milwaukee Brewers. In a well played series all around, the Phillies came out on top by winning 2/3, including what might've been the game of the year on Labor Day. Not everything is roses, however, as Aaron Nola struggled again in a loss on Wednesday night. However, it's hard to not feel pretty great about this team right now.

Hi everyone! The Phillies won 3/4 against the Braves in Philadelphia this weekend. After an offensive explosion on Thursday night, the offense disappeared for the rest of the series. The pitching was very good, with a couple of exceptions. The Phillies also signed Walker Buehler and claimed Tim Mayza to fortify the pitching staff. Friend of the podcast, Garrett Stubbs, will be getting added to the major league roster tomorrow. All ...

The curse of Citi Field continues as the Phillies got swept again in Queens this morning, and their divisional lead now stands at 4 games. There is a lot to be frustrated about, so let's talk about all of that.

The Phillies are finally free of the Washington Nationals. They've been a tougher foe than many expected them to be, but the Phillies took 2 out of 3 regardless. Zack Wheeler is officially out for the rest of the season and has a diagnosis. What parts of the team do we trust the most compared to others? All of that, and more, tonight with metssuck.

The Phillies had arguably their best series of the year this week against the Mariners. The starters looked great, and the offense exploded for multiple 20 hit games, as they swept the Mariners out of Philadelphia. Joe and Owen react to all of that and more in this episode!

The Phillies went to Cincinnati this week and lost 2 of 3, in a series that they only scored in two innings. Nick Castellanos is continuing to struggle hard, and Ranger Suarez looks to be having his yearly breakdown towards the end of the season, but guest u/shouldhavekeptgiles and I can't help but be mostly positive about the team still. Listen to this podcast to learn why, and answer a listener question about Zack Wheeler.

The Phillies took 2/3 from the Baltimore Orioles in a 3 game set where the offense scored 19 runs. However, the pitching staff may be in trouble. Zack Wheeler's shoulder is giving him problems, and Ranger Suarez and Jesus Luzardo continue to be questionable. Taijuan Walker is still in the rotation too. What do we think about what's going on, and what have we learned about the new outfield configuration since the ASB? Listen to toni...

    Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
