Welcome to the Local Elections 2025 OI Special, a podcast dedicated to helping you make an informed vote. Are you ready for the local body elections? Do you know the candidates? Join Dr. Barb from the Otago Institute for the Arts and Sciences as she sits down with all the Dunedin City Council and Otago Regional Council candidates. Each candidate answers the same set of questions, giving you a chance to compare their views and get to know them beyond the headlines. You can also dive deeper with our special background episodes, where we demystify the roles of the Mayor, Council, and Community Boards. Learn about Single Transferable Voting (STV) with Prof. Janine and get key voting information, including details on special and postal votes, with DCC CEO Sandy Graham.
