Speaker 1 (00:07):
You're listening to the Marcus lush Night's podcast from News Talks.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
A'd be.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I hope you're good. No, hope by the end of
the show you're even better. My name is Marcus. Welcome
head on midnight Tonight. It give us a call. Eight
hundred and eighty ten eighty and nine to nine two text.
Most amazing story that I've read today is about the
miniature desh and I'm pronouncing this right. The miniature decks
dashed and South Australia been on the run for more
than a year. For more than a year on Kangaroon

(00:38):
and in South Australia, it's been spotted alive and well,
but continues to evade the volunteers looking for it. They're
amazed that the decktion has survived so long in the wild.
Less than four kilograms, that's how big as it's a
tiny dog like a sausage dog, but a miniature sausage dog.
It's seemed fifteen kilometers from where she went missing. Yeah,

(01:03):
it's called Valerie, probably named after the singer and the
song Amy Wyneow. It's amazing. The experts are dumbfounded. It's
so crazy. Even with the recent really recent sightings. We're
both just like, no, don't get your hopes up. But

(01:24):
especially with the photograph that we got sent with the
Confidence and Kandler Wildlife Rescue, now we're just done to
edge to more like, okay, how are we going to
get to the arn if we have to pick her up?
Valerie's of parents survival skills were incredible and unexpected. We thought,
instead of surviving out in the wild, maybe something had
kind of adopted her as she was hanging out with
some other dogs and in the food because she has

(01:45):
been or she was an absolute little princess. I've never
known of a dex and to survive in the wild.
And it said while not adapted to the Australian boysh
mini dahans were well disposed of finding food on the ground.
Hypothetically she could eat birds, frogs and mice, but it's
more likely she was eating kerrion. So there you go.

(02:17):
By the way, the majority, and the article goes on
to state, because it's an English magazine, the majority of
Australian wild wild dogs are dingoes. So yeah, I don't
know if you've got an exciting desh and escaped and
lived in the wild story, But adorable looking thing. Valerie. Anyway,
how are you going? People? What's eppening? What's going to
get you going tonight? People? Oh, eight hundred and eighty
ten eighty nine nine to detext mm hmm. Get in touch.

(02:40):
You got to be part of it. Hit till twelve tonight.
I will keep you named, I will keep you informed
of the cricket. I've got that on the TV. Oh,
by the way, anyone boycotting red Bull? Yeah? People aren't
happy with that, are they. He was our great hope.

(03:02):
I don't know if he's gone yet, but it's any
matter of time. But I've already seen people online saying
they're going to boycott red Bull. It'd be a long
time since I've had a Red Bull. It's one of
those invented drinks that I have already seen the purpose of.

(03:23):
I don't know how old you have to be for
Red Bull to appeal to you. Probably about fourteen anyway.
By the way too. As far as the Auckland topic,
the second harbor crossing is all go again. They started
doing surveys of the seafloor and it's going to be
a bridge or a tunnel. Haven't worked out which one yet.

(03:44):
But we just don't know what i'd be in favor of.
I think I quite like the tunnel. I think two
bridges look well. I think i'd be in favor of
a tunnel. Sydney seems to be real with the tunnels.
Mine as you've got that beautiful rock appears to be
a wicket in the cricket to I called it at
fifty two for five. So here's a situation where the

(04:07):
cricket Nieum was the bowler, and I'll bring those details
up for you when i've got them. Wicket bold Niche,
very fine edge caught behind by the wicket keeper. I'd
like to see that in the stechometer. I didn't see
much movement at all, didn't hear a sound because the

(04:30):
volumes down. So there we go, a Samad for four
court hey bold Nichem, fifty two for five. There you go.
So I don't know if always got any opinions on
the second Harbor crossing. I think it's probably one of
those long term projects that successive governments will talk about,
but they won't actually commit to doing it until there's

(04:53):
some great crisis like the existing Harbor bridge. They find
that the medal is so fatigued, it's no longer fit
for purpose. I just like tolls back again. Anyway, get
in touch eight hundred eighty ten eighty nine two nine
to detect if you do want to come through second
harbor crossing, bridge or tunnel. But every government comes up

(05:19):
with different proposals they debate about, then they throw that out.
The newcomement government comes along. There's all sorts of different proposals,
but there we go. So there is talk of once
again and they say they are going to do it
is going to happen a second harbor crossing twelve past eight.
And then out of all the stories tonight, the one
that gets me most excited for all sorts of reasons,

(05:45):
and that is the National Aquarium, which I've never Is
there any good the National This is the old place
where they had the dolphins. This is the National Aquarium
and hawks by a Napier. Tell me if it's any good,
because I've never even once thought that would be a

(06:05):
fun place to go to. I guess I don't like aquariums,
but if someone said it was amazing, I probably could
well go to it. But what they are talking about
in Napier because it's running at a huge loss right
because they've got a state, they've got to cut staff,
like all councils, and what they are thinking of doing
to make the aquarium financially sustainable and self paying. They're

(06:27):
saying it could become Pandaland so there's some guy he
wants to lease pander bears from the Chinese government and
bring them to Napier. I'd go, and I'd pay a
hundred bucks, very very keen to see a panda beer.
Don't know why. I just think it's crazy. I'man tie zoo,

(06:50):
I meanty beares. Are they even a beer? I don't
think they are. I'd go and see pandas I would
get totally caught up on the panda bear hype. They
did have them in Auckland, when was it eighty six?
They've talked about having them in Willington. Now it seems
as though they want to get them for hawks, say
for Pandaland so there we go. There's a question where
would you go? Would you go and how much would

(07:14):
you pay? I'd like a pender bear themed hotel. Also
doing a hate thing that you couldn't really put skins
on the floor, but I do something. It could be
a very very exciting event football. We lock me up,
will get started the numbers? Oh wait, tunnel or Bridge
and what about pandas? That's pretty much a perfect show
for me. Tunnel or Bridge and what about pandas? And

(07:37):
are we boycotting Red Bull Marcus? Yeah, for sure, I'm
boycotting them. I think it's disgraceful what they've done to Liam.
This sky's never even a chance from when he got signed.
The same thing will happen to Yuki. Maybe it's a
blessing in disguise. So let's hope he can move on
and get on with racing his original team. As for
Horner and Marco, they need to go. He's the love
red A. He's the dirty Texter that strung Jerry along.

(08:02):
Definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting
different outcomes. Wow, look at that for a saying Marcus
may be named Valerie after Scooby Doo. Did Scooby Doo
have a destioned, isn't it? Pete Marcus? Welcome Marcus here
you go peak ten out of ten? That's in yourself?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Yeah, totally had a nine out of ten? Can of
you can't be all fit and healthy?

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Like?

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yes, what would make you a ten.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Never never give hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
That's right, because you want to have room in case
an extraordinary day happens. A.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
That's the one. You're just regarding the bridge and the tunnel.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
What do you think, I don't know. I haven't seen
the cost analysis, haven't seen I think with a I
would imagine with a road a lot more houses need
to be demolished for when it comes in, whereas a
tunnel that has probably got a smaller footprint. Would I
be right there?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Correct? You know, taking house there and they out of
circulation because you're going underground. It's a no brainer. You
already know if the bridge that we have now will
be down the same track another fifty iard years, you
build another bridge. You already know that bridges cost you
so much maintenance. Bace what they do they start painting
one end, They've got to go all the way around
it just continuous job.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Good point because you don't paint. You don't paint a tunnel,
do you. And we've done tunneling because we've done the
Waterview tunnel and we've also done the city rail loops,
so we're kind of tunnel sevy.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Yeah, we know how you've got to go a year
of late Switzerland.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Tunnel tunnel tunnel.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Yeah, we've got We've got the people here. Now just
make it bigger, do it once, do it right.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
That's it. How much would it cost five billion?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I have no.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Idea, Mark, I have no idea. But in the day
it might cost you a little bit. Well, I don't
think I have I don't. I have no idea what
it costs. But your wig the figures out I reckon
the tunnel might cost you a little bit more initially,
but end of the day it's going to be cheaper
because you haven't got the maintenance to worry about, like
a bridge. Like I said before, six them no brain.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Would you go to nap you to see the pain
the bees when they arrive at pandaland.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Well might one day I might see them, but you know,
you see all this stuff on you on Google and stuff.
You need to go and see them live.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Good point. I think a lot of the pandasn't exhibits
are just people in suits get in touch tunnel or
bridge and would you go and see the pandas. That's
three re entry level talk about questions for you. If
you're not watching the cricket and will your boycott Red
Bull because you've treated limb like a cheap date, brought
them in and tossed them. I don't like it at
all eight hundred eighty nine text. I mean Napier needs something,

(10:46):
doesn't it? Because what do you think about Napier wine?

Speaker 6 (10:51):
Whill?

Speaker 3 (10:51):
No one's drinking wine anymore. We've got a wine glut.
What is well, most of the tin food's imported these days.
They need pandas. We'll see they can all walk a
little bit taller. Delightful idea. And I don't even I'm
not even into animals and cages, but pandas are even animals.

(11:14):
I don't know what you want to say about that,
but you're up for this discussion. And how much would
you pay to see a pander? I think for one
of those it's for me. It's a buck I don't
have a bucket list, but if i'd have a bucket list,
i'd put to seeing your panda on the bucket list.
And shouldn't think I've put a bucket list. Get in touch,
Marcus Till twelve oh eight hundred eighty ten eighty nine text.

(11:39):
It's two topics for your bridge tunnel and Penders BTP
Bridge Bridge Tunnel Penders. I think when they came to
Auckland they couldn't get enough bamboo shoots. I think that's
what the problem was. They got them in the end.

(12:03):
You probably should be well, that looks like an LW.
You shouldrobably planned it's not pad. You probably should be
planting bamboo shoots. Now get in touch if you do
want to talk. And shall we boycott Red Bull Yeah,
I think most of us are boycotting anyway, Marcus, don't
forget the Comi tunnel. Oh, we've done great tunneling. Marcus.

(12:26):
Can you tell me if mobility scooters allowed on the road.
I want to know because I've had a stroke. Thanks Dennis.
I think you probably should be on a mobility scooter
on the footpath. Could someone tell me about that, Marcus.
I'd build a tunnel that will be cheaper than today.
And yes, for the panders who wouldn't like to see
a panda, I'm all in. I'll broadcast from there if

(12:48):
I if need be, and I've never broadcast from anywhere
different but from pandaland I even dress up, yep, I'd
dress up as a pander. Red Marcus, welcome Red Bull Boycott.
What's your name, mate? What's your front name? Hayden Marcus Welcome?

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Hello.

Speaker 7 (13:09):
I was just thinking the other day that if Kia
was in the in the seat for the first two races,
we would be saying that Liam Wawson to be in
the seat.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
So if you if key Wat's his surname, Yuki Sonoda,
if Uki Sonoda was in the seat, where would Liam Lawson.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
B he would be in the racing ball seat.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
There.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
They're like the feeder team, mate, I don't know that much.
They're the feeder team, right, yeah, okay.

Speaker 7 (13:37):
Yeah, yes, so yeah, we'll be having the same conversation
and we'll be saying that Liam Wilson should be in
the seat.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Does anyone ever go from Red Bull to the feeder
team then back to Red Bull?

Speaker 8 (13:49):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (13:49):
No, never, So it's probably a probably a dead in form.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Really, he's cooked us, I'd say so.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
It seems like a fresh faced, some younger. He seems
to be a fairly level headed to a young rooster too.

Speaker 7 (14:04):
Yes, it's but unfortunately I got putting the deep end
and now it's fine for.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
His life, didn't see. Yeah, but they keep saying it
was the wrong tires in the wrong car or something.

Speaker 7 (14:13):
Right, it's just a very hard car to drive. Next
step and he knows what he's doing, and he knows
what he wants from the car. And poor old Lamb
is new to the tires, new to the car, and
he's doing tracks he doesn't know. And yeah, between a
rock and a hard place.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Really, do we actually know that he's been given the
dunk come Monday? Or is that that's all but happened?

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (14:35):
The amount of things I've seen online. It's not official,
but there's lots of reptial people that are saying that
he's been set.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
So yeah, okay, hey Hayden, Yes, do you know people
that follow formula one?

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yep?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Why are they so opinion? How did you see them
on socialida? He shouldn't be there, He's hopeless. People aren't
shut of an opinion, are they. It's like football.

Speaker 7 (14:57):
It's dude to the Drive to Survive series on Netflix.
There's a lot of keyboard worries out there. Now he's
got their own piece of.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Piece because that's behind the scene. Does everyone now think
they're an expert and has some sort of special insight?
Is that what it is?

Speaker 7 (15:12):
I'd say so everyone thinks they know what they're talking about,
but really no one does, not even me.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
So it sounds like you might be one of those
keyboard worries. Are you haten tapping away?

Speaker 9 (15:20):
Well, absolutely not.

Speaker 7 (15:22):
I kicked my nose out of it.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
When do we see Drive to Survive? Is there a
series being filmed for this year's Formula One?

Speaker 9 (15:29):
There will be.

Speaker 7 (15:30):
There's already seven or eight seasons out. It's all on
Netflix and it goes back from when Genna Riccardo went
from Red bullder Reno.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
But don't the drive Don't the drivers say it's rubbish? Ah?

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Yes, because it's all kind of fabricated drama. So that's
why they don't like it. But people love it, so
they keep making it tremendous.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Cool Hayden, you're a precise, concise and yeah, I liked
everything about you. You came in, you knew your stuff,
and you were generous. Thought you had to say because
I didn't even didn't even ask you about whether you've
got a panda land and how much it'd paid, just
because that's how much. How I expect what you had
to say about that bridge versus tunnel, for the White

(16:12):
of Matar, for the Harbor. The other alternative they made
north Shore more exciting than people would need to go
across the bridge? Would they if they made north Shore
almost like its own separate city, that everything you needed,
like a proper rugby team at a proper stadium. I
don't even know what it needs actually. I mean you're

(16:33):
trying interview everyone that's going across that harbor bridge every
day and you work out what's happened with them and think, well,
actually start a big house swap. So anyway, harbor bridge
or a tunnel. Most people seem to be favoring the tunnel.
I'm inclined to agree. And the panda bears at Hawks
Bay at Napier the National Marine. Anyone ever been to this?

(16:58):
I think it's with that octopus escape. I don't really
know much about it at all. That's what we're on
about tonight. Get in touch. It'll twelve looking forward to
what you've got to say, Oh, eight hundred and eighty
ten eighty and nine to nine two to tix. What

(17:20):
would you go with the tunnel or a bridge? And
how much would you pay to go and see a panda?
And would you travel to Hawk's Bay to do it?
Because I'm very keen. I kind of want a pilgrimage,
and I think a panda pilgrimage wuld be quite special.
I don't know how you made. I think they're about
twenty million bucks to get them. They're not cheap. That's

(17:42):
for like a year, that's my understanding. We had them
in nineteen eighty five. A lot of merchandise was like
the beginning of New Zealand's merchandising was Panderland. Richard Marcus, welcome, Hi,
how are you ten? God right? Thank you? Richard? Very good.

Speaker 10 (18:02):
How do you think bringing the pandas to Hooks Pay
would be great?

Speaker 3 (18:08):
You'd go and see? Are you in Hawk's Bay?

Speaker 5 (18:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (18:11):
And I think it would really be good for Hawks
Bay because he's both a couple of real craphole towns
and I think it would be probably good for them
to have something to go people to go and do it,
because I want something for people to go and do
and nape here and Hastings because it.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Doesn't seem to be any draw card for tourists apart
from that Deco festival, and that seems to have kind
of wound itself down. But you don't hear people wanting
to go there. You don't hear about the gannets anymore.
Do you think that got O washed out? So the
gannets are gone? No one's drinking the giblick gravels anymore
because the wine glut fruit's not what it once was.

(18:51):
I think I agree with you, Richard. Oh it nice
to hear from you. You take care O eight hundred
and eighty ten eighty only two for five Pakistan Dead
Rubber long long series as it's too long, Marcus, how
about that far that went through the sale GP caused,
Vince Marcus Naple would be better off with the pandom

(19:12):
arn't Aka Temu store, Hyatt s Miller. I'm genuinely asking
where would the money come from for a tunnel? It
would be billions. Will you borrow it? You'd pay it
back with tolls like when they built the bridge. That's
my idea. Marcus auctand members of the New Zealand Bamboo

(19:34):
Society provided the bamboo for the Pandas. They also provided
bamboo polls for the Tom Kruse movie The Last Samurai
marg I'm a member of the society, of course. I've
been looking fondly at bamboo. Recently took my daughter to
see the pandas and Aukland when she was little. She's
forty nine now. Gosh, I think it was forty years

(19:55):
ago when the pandas arrived. No, I think it might
have been about nineteen ninety was it? Panda Panda pander?
Alex Marcus welcome?

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Hi?

Speaker 11 (20:09):
How are you man?

Speaker 12 (20:10):
Good?

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Alex?

Speaker 13 (20:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Good.

Speaker 11 (20:13):
I'd just like to chat about the current stay with
Liam Lawson.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Hang you just you just zoned out about that and
start what you're saying again.

Speaker 11 (20:24):
Oh yeah, sorry, my mom. I just got back from
something and my mom was listening to you saying about
how William Lawson is getting replaced by racing balls Yuki Snowda.
And I'd just like to see your little insights on
that if I could talk about it for a little while.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
You've just got back from where.

Speaker 11 (20:39):
Oh, just a little thing from after school?

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Hang on, I'm not I'm not on your way, sorry, Alex.
I'm gonna sit up a bit. Let's just start the
call again. Where did you say You've just got back
from just.

Speaker 11 (20:54):
A little extra curricular thing.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Okay, you're at the school, yeah, and what you and
you and you're just coming home from something you do
after school? Yeah, yeah, yeah, well copy that. Okay, what
did you want to say about Liam Lawson.

Speaker 11 (21:13):
Yeah, it's just I figured it's quite interesting. You know,
he's been off the thing. Don't you think it's a
little bit harsh?

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Oh yeah, Well, people seem that I've been very open.
They don't really know much about Formula one at all.
I think the people from New Enda are taking it
badly because there was so much hype when he there
was potentially he would get into the seat and he's
only had two races.

Speaker 11 (21:35):
Yeah, I know. It was quite shocking, to be honest,
because I'm a big fanatic about it and I've just
been looking into it ever since his like junior career
is over in like Formula two and stuff like that,
and he showed up a lot of promise and then
he does this and he doesn't deliver, and to me
it was quite speculating, really, but the just transfers really
shocked me.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
To you, it was quite what was the word you used, speculating?
It was quite speculating.

Speaker 11 (22:02):
Yeah, interesting, okay, Yeah, Well it's a business.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
They can do what they like. That's what happens when
you can trade people and put them forward and put
them back but yeah, I they kept talking about the
slower car. Are both cars the same where they set
up differently? Well?

Speaker 11 (22:25):
With the Red Bull it's more of a top contending team,
being like fourth or third out of the whole paste field.
So it's a pretty high up end team and they're
wanting to deliver, but swapping the drivers out with a
lower end team like they are doing with the vcar.
The other team it's quite a midfield, a bit slower,
so they're quite different in pace, with one being majority

(22:47):
faster and the other slower.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
What's your after school activity?

Speaker 14 (22:51):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (22:51):
I just did a scouter stuff your scout.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Yeah, brilliant, that's what we want. Fantastic. My boys have
scouts today. Sea Scouts twenty four to nine, eight hundred
and eighty. Marcus, thanks for information, Marcs for informationtion The
Bamboo Society would be happy to advise clumping bamboo doesn't run.
You can contact them through the website. Remark on what

(23:16):
you see them do with bamboo on the internet, isn't
it Well? They can build everything bridge, but only if
it's built over the top of the present bridge. Marcus
nineteen ninety was thirty five years ago. I'm talking about
nineteen eighty five, when I thought it was Marcus, what
are your thoughts on the America's cut possibly coming home?
Is zero interest? Marcus. What a panda? What about a key?

(23:39):
We were a dinosaur? A moa, Marcus. Has to be
another bridge because you know it will be a repeat of
the existing bridge, needing clipons. You can't do that with
a tunnel. Build two tunnels, summit simultaneously, one to replace
the Harbor bridge, one for future growth. Marcus. The next

(24:01):
harborbridge has to be a bridge because it needs six
lanes for cars, two for a busway, two for cycles
and pedestrians, and two lanes for rail. You cannot have
cyclists and pedestrians and the tunnel. Also, the nippons need
to be removed. In twenty forty. Marcus was at the
Taypei Zoo last month. The panners were wonderful, playful and

(24:22):
loyal to it and joyful to watch, laying on their
back eating bamboo. Space is reclean. No panda, rather see
a camel. Why build a bridge when they close them
when the weather's bad. Tunnel pointing this idea boycotting red
bull like they would care, Liam did not make the

(24:45):
grade suck it up, Buttercup. I don't care, but I
think New Zealanders feel particularly aggrieved. They thought this was
their time to shine. We've got a strong history of
motor racing in this country. I thought we're back. It's
a false dawn and people angry. Let them boy If

(25:08):
them boycotting red Bull is going to make them feel better,
I say go for it. You've really really said anyone
drinking red bull? Anyway? They're always drinking mother, aren't they?

Speaker 15 (25:18):
Or V?

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Or what?

Speaker 3 (25:19):
All the roofers drink meat pie and V that's the breakfast? Marcus?
Does nape you want to pay that huge cost to
lease them? Because I wouldn't want that cost or the
cost responsibilit of looking after them. Kate, no tunnel scares me.
Want won't go to see the pandas. Don't like zoos?
Said animals don't drink red bull, drink red wine. Marcus

(25:44):
Williams's parents should have kept their house and told them
to get a job. I'd build a tunnel, Marcus, that
will never be cheaper than today. And yes for the pandas,
who wouldn't like to see a panda? No one show
me a purse that doesn't want to see a panda,
I show you a person that's lying. Oh that was

(26:08):
a frenetic kind of a text reading session. It's three
easy entry level talk back tonight. You have to talk
about too much thoughts into it. Would you pay? How
much would you pay to see a panda? Because they
want to get them, they want to turn marine land
and a Hawk's Bay into pander land. I'm all in.
I think this is a great idea where you have
a package. You'd buy a package, should pay one hundred bucks,

(26:30):
and you'd have a week in past you'd go and
see them three or four times. That would be my
that would be my understanding. I don't know if that's
true or not, but I'm all in. So if you
want to talk about that eight hundred and eighty and
bridge or tunnel for the White to Matar, I don't

(26:51):
know what the substrata is like. I don't know if
you put a tunnel in there, if you can send
trains along it, if you've got to go down and
up enough because of the camber or the gradient. But yeah,
I'm always up for a project. Once we get the
in a city rail loops sorted, I hope you people
out of alkand are okaos talking about this? I know

(27:12):
sometimes you feel a little bit neglected, but that's just
the way the world. Sometimes you're going for the triple
play d and you're going to go for the harbor.
The pinder is and Liam Lawson, Wow.

Speaker 16 (27:27):
I've been listening to everyone and I you know, I've
got thoughts. Doesn't make me correct on anything, but let's talk.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
On no one's ever correct.

Speaker 16 (27:36):
Okay, yep, which one do you want? First?

Speaker 3 (27:39):
The crossing? The harbor crossing?

Speaker 2 (27:41):
All right?

Speaker 16 (27:42):
And my third form year in nineteen eighty five, we
came up with the what exists now, which is the
bus lanes that go from further north from what is
now Akaranga and people could park their cars and drive across.
And we also thought of having a tunnel as a

(28:02):
second option. You know, we were thirteen. The founding failed,
the whatever they called the fathers of the city decided
not to do that for another twenty something years. I
think that I opened in Sydney for a number of
years during the time when they with the tunnel came
to existence, and it was a blessing even though people

(28:24):
didn't want to pay the tolls. We've now got electronic
tolls as well. We don't have to stop for those gates,
which is a really cool thing. Jumping down, I was
going to say it goes scouts too.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Did you say you're in favor of a tunnel.

Speaker 16 (28:42):
Absolutely? Yeah, I liked I liked that proposal that went
from it was Freeman's Bay around to North Cape Point
or something. I like that bridge, but it's just an
ugly thing. I think if we can go underneath, keep
walking looking pristine and beautiful, and we can sail used
to road from West End up to up the river

(29:03):
and stuff, so we can keep that going, that'll be nice.
But I also agree with somebody who said expand the
existing stuff that's going on. We do need to think
about what's going to come in the future. Our city's
expanded so much and will continue to. The people who
look after the city in the future really need to
who are looking after it now need to look after

(29:24):
the people who are going to be looking after it
in twenty thirty years time. I'm talking now about what
forty years ago, almost so the.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Weird thing about it, the weird thing about the expansion
of Auckland and christ Church for that matter. No one
is in all the times I've discussed this and talked
about no one has ever discussed how big Auckland should
will become population wise. Because they're talking about one point
seven million. I mean it's going to be two million
within a decade. It's become in quite a big city.

Speaker 16 (29:54):
When I was at high school, it was the second
biggest city geographically in the world. Now that included the islands.
It doesn't mean that you can populate it, but because
it's just an esthmus, it's only about I think fifteen
or eighteen k's long, so it's just all of this
is basically a tunnel above the ground with a few

(30:16):
little extensions. It's like a like a very small centerpede
that's now being developed toward way south and way north.
When I was a kid, to go from where I
lived to the far north of Auckland or the northern suburbs,
you drove. It was a day trip. Now you catch

(30:39):
a bus in at fifteen minutes. It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Expansion is crazy, Liam Lawson.

Speaker 16 (30:44):
I don't have a solution for that, Lawson. So what
I'm hoping is going to happen because nothing's actually been
released and people are doing what we tend to do
in this country, and the saying, great, well, this is
what's happened. And I heard somebody say, and he may
well be well versed in everything, but I heard something
somebody say that that they pay close attention to the

(31:05):
keyboard wizards whatever they're called, people who got a lot
of a lot of people who have a lot of knowledge.
What I'm hoping is going to happen, and I can't
see why Red Bull wouldn't do this, is that all
they're doing is switching those two out for this one
race because the two teams are tied together. I know

(31:28):
you asked the question, has it ever happened that somebody's
gone back to the sub team would have forgot what
they call now wings what they're called, and then brought back.
But I'm hoping that maybe they're going to make that
decision because they've brought also on for a reason and
they're not stupid people, So I'm hoping and maybe it's

(31:51):
just Tevy Ravardo and TV hope not not Bravardo kV.
Hope that they're not they're not going to be fools,
and that they're going to put Snoda in there for
this home race for him and maybe he'll get more points.
I believe that he got sixteen in the last race.
He placed sixteenth, so four points behind the four places

(32:15):
behind Lawson. So that's what I'm hoping is going to happen.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Doann love you to talk to you. I've got to run,
but nice stuff, Thanks so much, don't just go a
cricket score Before the update of the commercials here we
go another wik at one to two for eight Pakistan
batting first text high Marcus. Only one local eccentric is
proposing Panda is a napier. There you go. And then
as soon as you propose pandas you suddenly marked as

(32:40):
an eccentric. Goodness me, only one local eccentric is proposing
panders in napier. Today is the first day ever heard
of it. Crazy. We've just had a three percent rate increase.
Imagine what the increase would be of this mad idea
went ahead. You'd be making money hand over fist if
local people got on board with it, with like panda

(33:00):
shaped doughnuts, and what else would do? Querium is another
white elephant, unaffordable for locals and supposing nearly empty oli.
The octopus had enough brains to escape Ka Hi, Marcus.
Inky was the octopus that did a runner an aps
So already we've got confident on the octopus's name. It's

(33:21):
either Inky or Oli. The Warterview tunnels brilliant. No one
complains about it now, So Harbor Tunnel is the best option.
Turn the Northern bus Way into light rail chairs s
Chesney another work in the cricket Nation's got wicket, four
dot wicket that know what's next? One wicket, Marcus. I

(33:48):
have plenty of ornamental black bamboo free to go at
home West Aalkland. Bring a spade, like to give a
shout out to Otatahi Mouldi wardens who every Wednesday and
Friday makeup food parcels for the community and fill up
the food banks on the east. I really appreciate your
mahi heart and a sunflower. Oh good discussion. We've got it.

(34:10):
You've got three topics going and most people have been.
You've got the tunnel of the bridge, panders a Napier
and Liam Lawson Marcus. Liam Lawson only made one mistake
in that race. He didn't give it the jendle. Maybe
they weren't allowed to give it the jendal. I don't
know why they don't get mister horned to drive the cars,

(34:32):
they said to everything else from the pits. Marcus Caller
is correct. Inky was the octopus's name. What a terrible,
disrespectful name for octopus, calling it after its one trait.
It's like calling a bee stingy, isn't it inky? It escaped?
I think it crawled out and down the pipe in
something that was quite a big story for a while.

(34:53):
I don't really follow it because I've never been quite
sure what the National Aquarium really is. I think that's
where the old days they had dolphins jumping through hoops
that were set on fire. You look back now and
you think, well, what we're going to do. We're going
to build a big pool. We're going to have dolphins,
and you're going to live in that pool, and we're
going to train them to jump through hopes that are

(35:18):
covered in hissian and soaked and diesel and set like
to And people went and droves. Where have we come?
A long way?

Speaker 16 (35:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Made for a spectacular postcard. Terrible dropped on the last ball, unbelievable,
so that'll cost them, and then an overthrow. It's all
gone bad at the end. Terrible drop ball. Yeah you
should look at yourself in the camera and be embarrassed. Mate,
who is your tall unit? Ball went straight up and down.

(35:58):
I think it was the last ball hit way in there,
straight in the air. And a guy was, I suppose
there's lights and stuff number two cheapest? What is shocking?
He looks dejected as he should. Who Luckily there's no
one in the crowd to see him, because no one there.

(36:20):
What's that about dead rubbers and all that? You think
people would turn up for this? People just seem to
sit at home now, don't they. I don't know if
you cross the story I started up talk about that
the last able and I'm reimpressed with the ostro out
of Australia of the miniature decks and dog survived a
year in the wild, because yeah, I mean, you're not

(36:42):
going to be able to get much food, are you. You
only way to get what's on the ground if you're
a tiny dog like that. But yeah, every one thing
that's unbelievable. So there we go. Wasn't running with the dingoes,
it seemed to well, they haven't caught it yet. They
found it, but haven't caught it. It's gone feral. I
don't think. Hang on, sometimes I say, I don't think.

(37:04):
I'm thinking at the time. I know dogs go missing,
but in New Zealander dogs go missing, and do they
go feral and confend for themselves they happen. I know
cats will go and do that, but I just don't
know if that's a situation with dogs. So you won't
have a dog story, your experience of a dog that's

(37:25):
gone missing and you've got it back after a long
length of time, because plenty about cats, but not in
that situation. By the way, the New Zealanders are batting
for a short turnaround. It seems to be play a
movement in the pitch too, so balls coming at their head.
For the openers, it's a bit of a wakener. Zero
for zero. There's been one ball, dot ball, so it's

(37:47):
just started. Jahan Dad is the bowler, so I fit
than Allen are opening there anyway? So about dogs and
about deathens, I'm going to struggle pronouncing that all night,
aren't I because I feel that I've pronounced it dash
and in the past. But I've been corrected for that.
Often the way you get corrected, you never quite know
what's the way to say it, Marcus. The gannets in

(38:12):
Napier are still going and a popular attraction. Marcus. If
the struw of the pandas is true, then it's a
vanity project. The money would be better spent putting teacher
aids into local schools or something more socially mined. In
my humble opinion, don't forget Lawson knows the next two circuits. Well,

(38:40):
surely they should leave him for those rounds. Well, I
guess they'll think about that. M Marcus. I've solved tonight's quandary.
We can have both the pandas and the bridge tunnel.
All the dollars for the pandas can be saved by
investing in quality panda suits for people to wear unzipped

(39:03):
all day inns, put on coat hanger and have second
half across for future growth for years ahead. Marcus. Off
topic but timely heading into winter, found out my mates
Killer what per hour rate for the power at contact.
After chatting to him, check mine out to compare, and

(39:23):
realized I was on some archaic plan with a prompt
payment discount and short I was paying forty cents per
Killer what per hour when I could have been paying
twenty one cents and also getting free power every Saturday
and Sunday nine to five. There should be a duty
of care for the provider to ensure when things change,

(39:44):
to do their best for their customer and reach out
to suggest they change an expensive mistake on my behalf
hope it could help others. I have a sympathy for
you there, because yeah, I don't think people want to
start micro managing their power bill and working out They
just hope that it's all for the best. So I

(40:05):
do have a sympathy for you there. Anyway, do get
in touch the topics that we are discussing. Chris Bishop,
the Infrastructure Minister, said yes, they're just working out whether
it should be a tunnel or a bridge for Auckland,
for the Watabatar for the second Harbor crossing. Most people
seem to be in favor of the tunnel. You will
have an opinion on that. What is that opinion? And

(40:28):
the National Aquarium in Napier, they're losing money and one
of the suggestions is that they turn it into pandaland
and least some panda bears from the Chinese government. The
response to that on this show, the people not from

(40:49):
Napier love it. The people from Napier are outraged. I
think they're a bit proud for it too. They think, oh,
we don't need anything. I don't know what that's about.
I'm sure plenty of other places would like pandas and
the news about Liam Lawson. Yeah, I don't know what

(41:14):
you want to say about that. There's some good texts
about that. All this talk about Lawson's carbon impossible to
drivers rubbish. He just wasn't up to it, as if
the FIA would let that happen. So there's some fairly
good intelligence on formula one. If you want to say,

(41:39):
by the way, he hasn't been dropped yet. I'll do
a search for the latest news story through that's what
Ron about to tear from you. A lot of papers
are still reporting it, but still quoting from that Dutch source,

(42:02):
the Bridge, the pandas and Liam Lawson. I think it
might have been fourth topic. I can't remember what it
was our Please you can still go see the Gannets.
I haven't seen anyone talking about seeing the Gannets for
a long long time. I think there was a guy
who took you along with his try. It was something
I've always on my list of things. I've never done it.

(42:26):
They haven't been to Hawks Bay for a long long time.
But yeah, there you go. You know, I do get
in touch you or to talk one. It was Marcus
hittled twelve on Dexa. Ya, deshans in the wild. That's
the other thing I want to talk about. And do
dogs go feral? I knew there was a fourth topic.

(42:51):
I don't know how they survive when they're feral dogs.
I don't seem to be the apex predator that the cats.
They might be a bit hopeless in the world. Are
they just trouble sheep? Helen, it's Marcus, good evening.

Speaker 6 (43:03):
I I'm now ductions. It's a German word. I don't
know what the ducks means, but it's hounded, ducks hunned.
They're a hound, so that's what ducks hounds mean.

Speaker 3 (43:15):
Are you saying it right? It sounds weird.

Speaker 6 (43:18):
Yeah, I know, it's well it's German. I mean that's
I mean, that's this ducks ducks hunned ducks fund anyway
about feral dogs in New Zealand, Yes, they do. Like
there's a real problem up in the far North. They
form packs and go onto farms and they kill sheep
and goats and things like that. But there's real problem

(43:43):
far north with these packs of feral dogs. And recently
there was a walker on the I think it's the
Arrow Rual Trail. I don't know if that was I
got that name right, But he was attacked by a
pack of feral feral dogs. And there's a story that
I don't know whether it's true or not about a
rider on a horse and the horse was attacked by

(44:05):
a pack of feral dogs and he had to flee
for his life and they killed the horse and ate it.
But that needs to be checked because I don't know
if it's true. Wow, yes, it's terrible.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
I think those dogs in the North have been a
feral pack for a long long time. I think they're
kind of Yeah, when I got some more understanding of that,
I seem to be led to believe that they've often
been there. But yeah, I don't know. But if you
lose your if your local dog, your move house and
don't take it with you or something like that, right, yeah,

(44:37):
what will the dog do? Will it go wild? And
will it find for itself in the wild? Do you know?

Speaker 6 (44:42):
No? I think it could depend on the dog. I
think the ducks ands go down rabbit holes, because that's
what I think they were bread for something like rabbiting.
They go down the rabbit hole. So if there are
rabbits around, that little dog in Australia would probably be
eating that as well.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
Guess what the German word for badgerer is.

Speaker 6 (45:03):
I don't know, Dutch dush perhaps perhaps the bread for
killing badges.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
That's right, that's what I'm telling you, dashed badge. It's
a badger dog.

Speaker 6 (45:12):
Oh, thank you, Yes, it's interesting topic.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Laying it out for Helen. Thank you for that. Oh
eight hundred and eighty ten eighty thirty eight without lost
side for twenty one Allen fifteen. There we go, and
dogs going into the wild like this decks and Kangaroo
Island survive for a year. Who'd want a hunt a badger? Marcus?
I think the thing to think about with a panda
is panda displomacy, in that we would have to get

(45:38):
the pandas from China. China uses gifts of pandas to
build diplomatic ties, and would it be a good time
for that? What would the Chinese wallships and all that.
I've got a problem with that. What's with people talking
on their phones while filling up at a petrol station?

(46:01):
Is there no longer a safety risk factor? Yet the
own with the red line through it is still displace.
I think that was always I don't know too much
about that, but I think that was always a yeah,
I don't necessarily know that that was I think that
was always I don't even think that was every unsafe.

(46:23):
But you say something about that if you want to.
How can it be humane to replace dolphins in a
pool with panders in a cage? Fair point? Also, Lawsener
is just not good enough when confronted with real world

(46:43):
racing from bears. As for the aquarium, do dive courses
and kids sleep over to raise money? Marcus, I hope
he gets dropped now. Red Bull sucks and apparently apparent
max favoring with the car. Go back to the racing
bills and get points, and then in a year or
two drive for another team that would look after them. Marcus,

(47:10):
if you live on your ride and use for a
little parrot, can work out cheaper to pire high color
what wait, but less daily line charge? Thank you, Marcus.
The beach hop starts today, Marcus. The perm of Lawsons
lasted long than the Red Bull Drive. Marcus Napier definitely
needs something to do, as there's minimal stuff for teenagers

(47:31):
to do if you don't live there. My kids just
hated being there, so maybe pandas are good. Someone says,
bring the pandas to Hamilton. Just moved here from tod
On and nothing to do in the tron, which makes
the question what are people looking to do? The one's
always wanting something to do in the town. I think

(47:54):
basically what people do in towns is it's not the
town's job to provide things to do, is it. Yeah? Normally,
if people say they've moved to place there's lots to do,
what is that sot me walks and things? Is it?
Am all right? I think it's a Well, I guess
with Hamilton you haven't got beeches, have you? And then

(48:16):
got good pools? That might be that. And researchers have
found that vaping may have actually slowed using into progress
in preventing adolescent smoking. Well, I entirely believe that that
it's a gateway to smoking. And of course the next

(48:37):
one is those pouches of tobacco you put in your
mouth and the thing about those is you can consume
those and use those and no one knows you're doing it.
So I'm sure the teachers will be very worried about that.
And all the articles I've read about these pouches or
snooze or whatever they're called, and I warn you about this,

(48:57):
All the articles I've read about them, how they developed,
and Sweden and their path through America with already taken off.
All the articles that I've read make the whole pouch

(49:18):
tobacco thing seem very appealing. So yeah, just be a
bit careful about that. So I read those, I thought, well,
I wouldn't mind trying that, and I've got no reason
to take up that habit, but there's something about it. Think, oh,
actually that could be a bit of me. So you
don't know what to say about that. I almost feel
that you guys should be warned not to read the articles.

(49:40):
I'm sure if someone offered me, i'd give it a go.
A text or from someone says, can you please briefly
explain the Liam Lawson situation? Don't fully understand it? Shairs. No,
I won't try and do that. I don't know enough
about it. If someone else could kind ly ing up
and for those that know explain the situation. I think
peopleould appreciate that because it requires quite a lot of

(50:03):
sort of pre knowledge to understand, and I don't have it.
So someone else can explain the whole what's happened to
Liam Lawson, why they thought he was going to be good,
why he wasn't good with a hard and soft tires.
If you can do that, that would be incredibly appreciated. Marcus.
Off topic, but car related. Can someone tell me why

(50:23):
people turn off their car engines while waiting in traffic
or to turn into a street. I hear it all
the time while walking their cars restarting. I would have
thought not good for fuel consumption, etc. Plus the hassle
of doing it. Why regards Mark, I've never heard of it,
and it's there. Hybrid cars Marcus, A tunnel under the
cook straight may save on ferries? Yeah, maybe, very very

(50:49):
expensive A So lots of cars are made with a
stop start option, so anytime you stop, it turns off,
release the break and it starts again. I have an
now to the engine turns of automatic when you stop
and starts again when you put your foot on the exit.
Enjoy your show mate, Marcus, what in cars? F idle stop?

(51:11):
It's very annoying. You have to turn it off every
time you start the car. Good evening, Enzo, this is Marcus. Welcome.

Speaker 14 (51:21):
How are you Marcus?

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Good thinking winto? How are you going? All right?

Speaker 14 (51:24):
Yeah, not too bad. I was just listening in and
I thought I would jump on the old vaping chat.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (51:30):
Well, for ex I've been a cigarette smokers since I
was seven eight and coming up twenty nine now, so
still fairly young really, But I feel like back in
the old days, if you wanted to be a nicked
seen at it, you know, you sort of had to
be a bit of a heardened kid. You know, you
sort of knew what.

Speaker 9 (51:45):
You were doing.

Speaker 14 (51:46):
You're hanging out with the rough crowd. If you couldn't
do it, get bumped up the cigy and probably fear
your guts out and then go off home. I think
these vapes have made it all too easy for any
old Toms and Harry to pack it up. I'll pick
up a nicotine addiction at a stupidly young age, and
I think about a cigarette is actually go out, so
you know, at the end of the day, if you
want to light another one.

Speaker 12 (52:05):
Up, on you.

Speaker 14 (52:06):
But the vakes don't stop like I used to vape.
I used to work up on the hills, chainsaws and
climb mountains, and the worst my lung health ever was
was when I was vaping. I went back to cigarettes.
I'm not saying you should smoke, but out of the two,
I just personally I think vaping is a hell of
a lot worse. And there's no studies to prove what
happens here because it's quite new. So I wouldn't be
surprised if you've never seen years or so and you

(52:28):
find out that half these people that quit smoking to
take up vaping is probably they just haven't even made
a positive modulous at all.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
I also wonder, as you're talking too in so that
kids these days are so addicted to their phones also,
I'm wondering if that's tapping into you know, because the
phones are always on it, and with the vape, they're
always on it. When you go, you go fall on.
Whereas smoking was almost sort of more relaxed, wasn't it.

Speaker 14 (52:52):
Well it is you have a cigarette to wind down
and relax, you know, That's what it was called smoker.
You have it when you work for you to reward,
do your moment and then you know your packet runs
out after not that long really compared to mate that's
got two three hours and past loaded, ready to go.
I mean, and it's just kind of self explanatory there,
And I just sort of boggles my mind how people think.

(53:15):
I mean, like, I just want to put it out
as a smoker. I know I'm killing myself, but all
these people vaping convinced they have made a positive lifestyle
choice beyond me.

Speaker 3 (53:26):
Nice to hear from you in so thank you, John Marcus, welcome.

Speaker 8 (53:30):
Hey, Yeah, a little bit about Liam Lawson. Hopefully this
will make sense.

Speaker 3 (53:35):
Thank you. My microphone up for my headphones up for this.

Speaker 8 (53:38):
It's okay. So, first of all, Liam Lawson was a
bit of a contentious choice for red Bull. They were
looking for a driver to pear Mexi Stefan who currently
who was the world number one and he's probably the
driver of our lifetime. He's a very different driver, very
aggressive driver, but it suits the style and the cow
that Red Bull have made. Lawson was chosen partly for
his mental resilience as much as anything. He's a very

(54:00):
good driver and his driving himself kind of matched Max
but they thought he was mentally tough enough to be
in the team. Now, because the way they've set the
car up for Max, and they can't really set the
car up too differently for the two drivers, the car
is almost unbalanced. But the staffan is such a good
driver he can sort of drive within the parameters, very

(54:21):
narrow parameters of making the car work. Liam Lawson's had
to do this without really having any practice time because
they had already cut down the amount of practice time
drivers get and cars. He's been racing on two tracks
that he hasn't seen before or driven on before, so
he's had to learn that. In Australia his car had

(54:41):
technical problems, so he got basically no practice. Even in
the latest round in China they still they were changing
suspension bits and pieces from what I could make out.
So he's a guy who has had no time in
the car, driving on tracks that he hasn't seen, and
the car that is unbalanced. Then you throw in the

(55:01):
issue of Yuki Sonoda sponsored by Honda, who make the
engines for Red Ball. Now at the moment, I believe
Honda are paying around ten million dollars a year for
Sonoda to be in that team. They were offering another
ten million dollars a year for him to go into
the main Red Bull team, especially with the Japanese Grand
Prix coming up in about ten days time. But they

(55:24):
can have a Japanese driver in the main Japanese car,
which is the Red Bull or Japanese powered car, huge
pr for them. So at the moment there's a couple
of people saying that Liam Lawson has been dropped that
it all comes back to one reporter who made the
initial report. So no one's saying anything yet, but it

(55:44):
seems to be stronger and was based on all those
bits and pieces. But John, what happened after two races
is really unfair.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
John, what are the two cards? Cars have to be
the same? Is that in case they can swap them
out of whether there's something wrong with them or is
there any reasons they need to be set up exactly
the same full verse Steppen.

Speaker 8 (55:59):
It's more around the Formula one is horrendously expensive and
to set two cars up differently, I can basically have
to be running two cars, which would almost double. You know,
it's a cost thing as much as anything.

Speaker 3 (56:14):
Would Liam Lawson be paying for the seat in that.

Speaker 8 (56:17):
Car no, Liam Lawson has been coming up through the
Red Bull Academy and you know we've all heard the
stories about how his parents, how his parents sold their
house so he could get to racing. He doesn't have
the money behind him to buy a seat, so he's
one of the drivers on the grid that has got
there purely by merit.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
So he goes back down to the feeder team. Does
he come up again? Is he good enough for some
other team to want him with cars that are more
suiting his driving?

Speaker 8 (56:46):
From what the story is that he will go down
to the what they call the Racing Bulls, which is
the Red Bull second team, and it's basically just a
seat swap for him and Sonoda. So that put him
back into the team that he was racing in last
year that he raced with quite successfully because the cars,
it is a separate team. You know, they share various things,
but the cars are set up differently. These cars and

(57:08):
racing balls aren't set up for Max, for Stephen, you know,
only the Red Bull teams are the racing ball they're
more of say, conventionally set up. And that was where
Lawson had a success as last year and where Snoda
has been doing quite well and had jab the new
guy for racing balls. So put Liam in that car
and he'll probably go bloody well. Put him in the
Red Bull, which he needs to time in which he

(57:30):
is not getting and he could also do well.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
Is he an extraordinary driver?

Speaker 8 (57:35):
I don't know enough to know to say he's extraordinary.
I mean there are lots and lots of really really
good drivers out there. But when you compare him to
someone like the Staffan who you know, seven times world
champion and still get you know, he's got a very
unique driving style in the way that he approaches corners
and things. So could Liam learn that? Possibly? Has he

(57:57):
had time to do it? No, and I think that's
his main issue.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
Really.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
Thank you for every much, John. I love the eloquent
way playing that found that for every helpful. So thank
you one hundred and three for two over eight overs.
It's New Zealand. Brinted's Marcus welcome.

Speaker 9 (58:14):
Oh hi, someone's asking about the auto stop start and
the cars.

Speaker 17 (58:21):
Is it correct?

Speaker 3 (58:21):
Yeah, that's correct. Yeah.

Speaker 14 (58:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (58:23):
So it's just an ex factory supposed to be a
green thing. So every time you stop giveaway whatever you can,
you know you've put along the break and it's stopped
for amount of whatever. The ten engine turns, engine turns
off and as soon as you lift your foot off
the brakes and the engine starts off again.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
Whether it's a secondary, does it put out a pressure
on your start a mote or anything?

Speaker 4 (58:49):
Does it?

Speaker 3 (58:49):
It seems to be it's all legit.

Speaker 9 (58:52):
Yeah, yeah, it's actually it's textually well, I mean like
I've got to gee and it's supposed to be compulsory
and lot in the northern vehicles. Now I don't know
above what year, but it's all part of the carbon
neutral thingy, cutting down on amount of fuel that's used.

(59:14):
But spend I just spent a whole lot of money
on buying new batteries, you know, like really high quality
batteries which good you know, listening and album and stuff.
So I'm not quite sure how greened is.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
But okay, thanks Brent, Ethan.

Speaker 18 (59:32):
Marcus, Hey Marcus, how are you good?

Speaker 3 (59:35):
Take you Ethan?

Speaker 18 (59:38):
I was just calling. I doubt the Liam Lawson things,
but that other bloke explained it quite well, so I
just thought i'd come and say hi.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
Someone. One of the Texas says both cars are set
for the number one driver in case one car fails.
I can understand that. Would you agree with that?

Speaker 18 (59:51):
Yeah? I absolutely would. Okay, all Liam Lawson needs to
be that world class driver is time and you just
don't have that at Red Bulls like you need to
have it as soon as you're there. You can't muck
around and you know, so.

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
He couldn't have done anything differently, could he?

Speaker 14 (01:00:10):
No?

Speaker 18 (01:00:10):
Not at all. But sadly as it is, Yuki Sonoda
is the better driver, and he is Japanese and you
know they're sponsored by Honda, which is made in Japan
in the Japanese Grand Prix coming up, So it's just
marketing move money.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
So are they going to swap them for Are they
going to swap him for one race? You're going to
swap him for one race, you may as well swap
him for the season.

Speaker 18 (01:00:37):
I believe that they're going to swap them. It's going
to be for the season. I don't see Liam Lawson
going back up to Red Bull if they switch them
and Yuki does well. But I think Liam Wawson needs
more time in the Junior Red Bull car to develop.

Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
Is it very similar drive in the Junior Red bullcar
to the Red Bull car? Obviously?

Speaker 18 (01:00:58):
I imagine. So they're still two different teams managed by
the same sponsor and engine, so it will be different,
but it won't be far from RedBull.

Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
What does Yuki have to do to appease his masters,
both Honda and Red Bull at Tokyo, He's got to
come tiring in.

Speaker 18 (01:01:20):
Top five even he's got to perform consistently through all
the practices and qualifyings and then obviously in front of
the bands during the race. So I think if he
gets top five, he'll have that seat for the next
few races at least.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
And if he's just top ten, he goes.

Speaker 18 (01:01:38):
It depends on how his overtakes iron qualifying is, but
it's on the fence. I don't see any reason why
he won't stay it if he does finish top ten.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Hey, Ethan, you know that situation on the weekend with
Shanghaian before that with Australia. There's all that mucking around,
that's just all to see who were lane, where you start?
Isn't it all that? There's all that fuss about the
beginning of the weekend, but it all just the only
points come from the race day, is that right?

Speaker 11 (01:02:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:02:05):
It is?

Speaker 18 (01:02:05):
And then over the last couple of years if one's
developed a sprint format which is sort of a mini
race they have before the Grand Prix, which gives you
points just a very small amount.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Okay, it's just for fans. Is that what they're talking about?
Making money?

Speaker 15 (01:02:20):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 18 (01:02:22):
Pretty much. But yeah, it'd be sad if Liam goes
down to racing bulls. But it's just work better for
the team in the end. It's a winning sport and
you can't have somebody who's not doing too welly.

Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
Feer Ethan, thank you very much for that. I'm very
much enjoying the chat around Formula one only because it's
all I enjoy finding more sport to watch, and I
enjoy the learning curve of loving to understand sport. I

(01:02:57):
guess what I'm saying. Yeah, I was surprised in my
attempts to follow Formula one that they have that whole
thing called DRS. Is it called DRS? It helps them
to overtake I found that weird and it took that

(01:03:19):
took a bit of coming to terms with anyway. So yeah,
it's a good thing that I mean, I'm very grateful
about the wholely lawsome thing, and it was all that
background noise for the last year we won the cricket
it looks like they're doing shaking hout. He's already must
have one to day. Yeah, Okay, there we go. So yeah, yeah,

(01:03:44):
I'm pleased that I've become more across the personality is
what's happening in the sport. Yeah, I guess that's what
I'm saying that. And I've been watching it a bit lately,
got the kids into it, but I don't love it,
but I'm sure they'll get there. But I just read
there's an article from the Daily Mail of all things,

(01:04:04):
and I'll read that because it's relevant to what we
are talking about. Max fish Staff and not happy with
Red bull decision to ex teammate Liam Lawson after just
two races of the F one season. With his replacement
named for the Japanese Grand Prix. Lasses are probably being demoted.
He has failed to score points with a struggle. Another
man will now step up to try and support for

(01:04:25):
stuff and during the season it goes as I say,
defending for him to one World champ. Max for Stupp
has been left frustrated by Red Bull's parent decision to
stack sack Liam Lawson outter just two races. He was
immediately put under precious succeed when partner with the Step
and after McLaren pipped Red Bull to the constructor title
last season, prompting the team to change his second driver.

(01:04:48):
Mexican veteran Sujo Prez had that seat last season, but
a disappointing campaign from finished eighth to the standings and
led to Red Bull paying off the remainder of his
contract to promote Lawson. There were high hopes for laws
and Yadi Yadiyar demoted. That call, however, is left for
stop and disappoint with a report of the Dutchman disagreed
with a brutal decision that is set to be confirmed soon.

(01:05:15):
According to the Telegraph, there are final details to behind out,
but the decision has been made to make the swap already.
Although you could very much first step and could be
behind it and say he's very happy with it, but
publicly could be opposed. I imagine that's more part of the
course with a sport like that. So that's what we
are talking about Grand Prix pandas in the harbor crossing,

(01:05:37):
and also vaping, because I reckon vaping is probably leading
to more people smoking which I entirely agree with, but
they're marketed wrong. They let too many different ones in
and those vape those vape shops on every street. That's ghastly.
So it's boring shops to walk to work. And you'd think, hi, Patty,

(01:06:00):
AND's Marcus welcome?

Speaker 19 (01:06:02):
Yeah, Hi, you're Marcus. I'm just wanting to say, I'm
just Philip, very very unfear if they replaced Liam. You know,
I can't and I even I've been watching Formula One
now for a while and adore it. Now. The thing

(01:06:24):
about Marcus, they didn't also give him any time learning time.
He went in cold in the in Melbourne in those cars,
had never been in them. The suspension was down in
one of the cars, but in China they had fixed
it slightly so it was a little easier, and you

(01:06:47):
could see he was a little bit easier. He wanted
to just stay on the track. The name of the
game was to finish the race, and he did on
the last day and he improved some numbers, but obviously
not enough. We were going to go from here.

Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
But Patty, that sounds to me like shambollock management of
Red Bull. If they've got no time in it, and
that's the thing I'd understand. How could these slick events
be so shambalack To watch it seems as from an
outsider just trying to get into the sport, it seems
very there seems to be an incredible lett of pre planning.

Speaker 19 (01:07:26):
And I saw one of the interviews. I saw the
interviews for the people that run it, you know, and
they were even saying he had no preparation. He should
have had preparation for that car. You can't come on
to that stage and not have been had had taken

(01:07:47):
him somewhere out not not not anywhere in sight, but
had preparations, no simulation. Apparently he didn't even have simulation
of being in a car like that.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
Yeah, because I thought there would be. I imagine there'd
be for a good simulators to practice to see.

Speaker 19 (01:08:06):
You would think top of the world, wouldn't you.

Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
Absolutely? Yeah, Well I watched that progue one. There's car
and they spend a lot of time in simulators learning
it how to drive like that way, They spend a
lot of time doing it.

Speaker 19 (01:08:16):
Look, he's a good driver, you know, he's probably got
a lot to learn. This isn't a feel where you
learn a lot. You should be already at a stage
where you know you should be top dog. It's like
when you go onto a warrior's field, just say, for instance,
or an all black field. You're not learning. You're there.

(01:08:39):
You have to flick and you're there. You're learning as
you go along. But when you reach the top grades,
you there's got to be a switch that comes on
and says, I'm here.

Speaker 3 (01:08:51):
You were saying you were going to go to the match?
Were you the race? Did you say very interrupted and
you said you were going to go to You're going
to go across to Australia or did you Were you
about to say that?

Speaker 13 (01:09:05):
No?

Speaker 19 (01:09:05):
But I'm thinking I will go to a Formula A
Formula one. I've been to one before, but I will.
But I would like him if he goes back to
the other racing balls, the lighter ones, the different ones.
He drove them well last year. And maybe maybe he's
just not ready. Maybe he isn't just ready for this

(01:09:28):
because in his interviews I noticed he keeps saying I'm
going to learn a lot from Max fi Staton this year. Well,
you know you shouldn't be saying you should know a
lot already. Okay, do you know do you know what
I'm getting at? In a way, I.

Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
Didn't hear him say that. I thought every time i'd
seen him, I thought he handled the media for revery well.
I thought he seems free, calm, and he seems free gathered,
and he seems as though he seems focused and doesn't
seem to worry about the It.

Speaker 19 (01:10:00):
Must be away for him underneath those Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Yeah, absolutely, particularly with has been so behind them.

Speaker 19 (01:10:07):
Oh yeah, we're there, We're there from There's the only
reason I'm watching, you know, because I want him to
We all want them to do so well. You know,
we're in this with him, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
And it was such a long thing last year when
they thought he was going to get that seat and
people were so excited and yeah, so much hype. But
then just then just it's come to nothing. It's not
come to nothing. It was just so short lasting.

Speaker 19 (01:10:35):
I wondered its just a little bit. They took a
gamble by putting them in there, and maybe he just
wasn't ready for it. Maybe another year and maybe another
he's only young, he's only twenty two.

Speaker 13 (01:10:48):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
Although there's a lot of people, there's a lot of
people in the field that are very young though. Looking
at their.

Speaker 19 (01:10:54):
Ages, got it looked like baby, Yeah, they look like
some of those young kids are nineteen twenty. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
Yeah okay, Oh, nice to hear from your patty. I
hope for your stake he stays there.

Speaker 19 (01:11:09):
Ye oh, why not looking likely?

Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
Yeah, okay, thank you. Fifteen past ten, looking forward to
your calls. Talk about lev Lawson also tonight. I'm still
waiting for an official announcement to come through. I haven't
seen that yet about him continuing or not continuing. But
the number is, oh, eight hundred and eighty to a D.
There might be something else you want to explain to
us about the subtleties of the sport, but yeah, it
does seem shambolic. And I haven't watched the TV series.

(01:11:37):
I'd be curious today how many people would work for
each team, but it seems to be incredibly labor intensive.
I don't know what all those people looking at screens do.
I'll tell you what. They've actually improved the pit times
a lot in recent times. They' jeepest creepers, no messing
around there. So there we go. That's what right about
eight hundred and eighty ten eighty Marcus till midnight, do

(01:12:00):
come through? Do you want to talk at this or
anything else? Marcus Hi, Marcus, Liam did have pre season
testing only weeks before the Melbourne GP. That's from Kerry, Yes, Marcus.
My Toyota esteam of Diesel ninety ninety six turns off
at traffic lights as well. Same as those fancy motors
might need a waft, might need redge and road users

(01:12:23):
as well. That's not true about the Red Bull. The
RB and Red Bull car has been similar to Drive.
The Red Bull has a very sense of operating window,
which is what Max for STARp And likes. It's like
playing PlayStation tune the sense of the up to one hundred.
Liam has beaten Yuki through the junior levels. Honda's relationship

(01:12:45):
ends with Red Bull this year, so if the relationship
was that important, they would have chosen Yuki. Yuki will
go into the Red Bull seat. He will produce the
same results as Liam. Red Bull strategy of favoring one
drive instead of been Like McLaren, Ferrari needs to change.
Max for stapp and will leave this year. Is not
going to stick around with the car being as bad
as it is. He's not in the running this year,

(01:13:05):
and even though he'll probably the best to ever do it,
he's struggling lim as a generational talent. Another rookie, Annatally
drove ten thousand k's as a Mercedes laws and got
two practices of an hour, which would be a few
hundred k's. You might be at the cricket driving home
from that. Look to me as no one wanted to
be there. I'm not trying about the people and the

(01:13:29):
seats because no one wanted to be there. At the
stadium was hard anyone there, but the players didn't look
that into it. Have I got that one wrong? Get
in touch? Mark is also Panda Bears for the Maritimes Center.
Now that is different from Marine Land. It's down the road.
Thank you for that. And the Harbour crossing Bridge are
a tunnel. I think people is didn't feel we need
a good tunnel. We haven't got many, have we do

(01:13:55):
you wy to list them? Oh tear a tunnel, Limatucket Tunnel,
Chaimi Tunnel, Central Rail Loop and the Waterview Tunnel. We
need another one. A good tunnel under a harbor. And
oh boy, they love that under they go under, they
go through that sandstone marvelous I could talk about tunnels
all night. I've been through most of them. I think

(01:14:15):
I've been through all of them. Get in Touch eight
hundred and eighty today, Marcus till Midnight and the whole
Formula one carry on, and I keep mentioning that topic.
But yeah, you want to be wary of those because
it's going to become a big news story that those
tobacco pouches you put in your mouth, because they're taking

(01:14:39):
off in America. There's a certain sector of society they've
never smoked before, corporate sort of you know, you Wall
Street types that are getting into this stuff like this
No tomorrow. I think Philip Morris brought the company off
the Swedish and they're going great guns with it. But yeah,
it's a big thing in America. And I'll come here

(01:15:03):
because those whole colored vapes came here also, So there
we go. My name is Marcus Hittle twelve. I forgot.
I think they're called s y ns or snooze. They
got different, it's slightly complicated, different names different places. Come on.
Are they're called zed y Ends? I think yeah. The

(01:15:28):
zed y Ends is the name of the Philip Morris
company that has these pouches of tobacco. They all called snooze.
Now they're called zed way Ends. I don't know too
much about why they changed the name or what it
stands for.

Speaker 5 (01:15:45):
But.

Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
They've kind of revolutionized the delivery of nicotine and the
number of people do I don't even know what you
call doing it, but the number of people doing it
with pouches has gone through the roof in the US.

Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
YEP.

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
It says in certain setting, Zin is ubiquous. The imprints
of a canister and a pair of car keys is
a signature of the finance sector. Golf course, they've posted
signs imploring patrons not to dispose of them. Yeah, a
brand for men. I think even Robert Kennedy Jr. Was

(01:16:32):
said to be using his. During the confirmation hearing, the
actor Josh Brolin told the podcaster Mark Maron that he
keeps his zign in his lips twenty four hours a day,
so once people get right into it, it's a total addiction.
The other thing, that's a development not related to formula one.

(01:16:54):
But I'm just going to tell you anyway, if you've
got Disney Plus app, ESPN is now going to that.
So Disney Plus today launched ESPN on Disney, which will
bring blockbuster matchups. I miss more moments in more than

(01:17:18):
ten thousand hours of ESPN Live Sport, so NBA, all
those sorts of things, Baseball and the likes. So what
the suspicion is I think is that I don't know
how long ESPN will stay on Sky Sport, and if

(01:17:39):
that went from Sky for me, that would mean Sky
would be half half as useful as it is. So yeah,
I don't mind a side pivot to Sky also in
Disney Plus. But also questioned about your Sky receiver. Has
no one's rung about that recently? That all been resolved
also with your Sky dishes. It'd be a good thing

(01:18:03):
if that has. So there we go, twenty six past ten.
Some texts for you, Marcus, It's a bridge for me.
I'd rather fall into the water they have the water
falling on me. This is bridge versus tunnel for the
harbor crossing, Marcus. I appreciate the Formula one as a
cutthroat sport based on results and consistency, But for God's sake,
the kidneys diamond the seat. These high end investors in

(01:18:25):
management at red Bull didn't ail a businesspos on the
second attempt, disgusting how he's been treated. The icing on
the cake for Red Bull to teach them a lesson
on driver management will be if Sonoda's results are worse,
let alone the management of the car design. People feel
very passionate about that. This, So that's what we're on

(01:18:48):
about tonight. If you want to talk about these things
a bridge or tunnel, what would be the solution for
the Auckland Harbor of the White of Matah And also
how will you pay for it? I mean, I don't
know if money is more expensive to borrow than when
we built the Harbor Bridge in fifty nine. I expect
it's probably not. And the thing about the Harbor Bridge,

(01:19:09):
it was so successful we paid it off quite quickly,
but there were much deliberating with the expense of this
bridge or tunnel. They should have done it when they
still had the tunneling gear for the Central rail loop,
but I think they got rid of all of that
and all the management. So yeah, that's one of the
discussions also tonight twenty seven past ten, So get in touch.

(01:19:33):
No words of anyone resigning in America on the basis
of the whole situation with the chat that happened the
war chat that happened on signal, which is an app
I haven't heard of. But it's not very secure. Well,
it's secure, but not as secure as it should be

(01:19:54):
to talk about or planning foreign military interventions. That would
be my take there. So there we go, oh eight
hundred eighty ten eighty nine nine to Texas on toobou
this already else tonight, looking forward to what you've got
to say here till twelve Yipia, I do get in touch.
How's TIMU going for your people? Always chuck Tim? Who

(01:20:18):
out there is a bit of a topic from time
to time. You're still mad for it? Are you still
getting hundreds of parcels every day of stuff you don't
really know if you want or not. I still haven't
bought anything on tim and I don't quite know what
my entry level item is going to be. But yeah,

(01:20:39):
that's something else you might want to mention. Also, since
I'm going to check everything at you to get your
calling up tonight, I thought Penders would be your kicker
for tonight because you're looking at it for a marine
layer for the maritime Let me get this right, well,
I should get it right. They're losing money with the

(01:21:03):
National Aquarium, and they're saying it could become panderland. So,
by the way, what's it like the National Querium if
you are in Napier and would you want the pandas
a lot of people are embarrassed by panders they think
it's sort of slightly ghost I'll be well into them.
Michael Sewett's Marcus welcome, good evening.

Speaker 15 (01:21:24):
It could easy Marcus just calling them regards.

Speaker 14 (01:21:27):
To Temu and the purchases off their.

Speaker 15 (01:21:30):
I it's great. I'm still buying off tumors. I still
buy things off tu The only problem it's been is
the small sizes. You're expeaking it to be normal size
and it comes over and it's it's half the size.

Speaker 3 (01:21:49):
Tell me what sort of stuff you are buying that's
half the size of what you expected.

Speaker 15 (01:21:55):
A two way hose piece okay, to connect two hoses
onto the test Yeah, okay, you'd want that, right, Yes,
you're so. Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
Did you send it bag?

Speaker 17 (01:22:11):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:22:11):
I did this?

Speaker 3 (01:22:12):
Why not? If it's what was so cheap, it's not
worth sending it bag? Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 18 (01:22:18):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
Okay, what would be the most expensive thing you brought
Michael Sue.

Speaker 15 (01:22:25):
The most expensive thing I've bought would have been the
solar the solar lights. So it's a solar center light.

Speaker 3 (01:22:33):
How much?

Speaker 15 (01:22:34):
And they were.

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Fourteen okay, and they were the right size.

Speaker 15 (01:22:39):
Excellent, Yeah, they were fine, they were fine.

Speaker 3 (01:22:42):
Okay, Well, okay, tt of work out why they'd sent
a half sized hose Joiner.

Speaker 15 (01:22:47):
Yeah, maybe they canique this over and where it's been
made is smaller size than New Zealand.

Speaker 3 (01:22:54):
It might be for an aquarium fish pipe. Well, I
can't work out what it would be.

Speaker 15 (01:22:59):
No, No, not for the fish pipe, because I've bought
aquarium stuff off there as well. Oh wow, anyway, Marcus,
have a great.

Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
Night, Michael sus thank you so much. Someone's texted Marcus.
I call into a career company who have a palette
labeled TIMU returns freaks me out. Second Harbor Crossing. I'd
like to see a tunnel if we continued playing tolls,
We're more than enough to finance the new tunnel. Great show, Davo,
we'n't had a great show in a while. Woo. Yeah,

(01:23:39):
I'd avoid those tobacco pouches though, cheap as creepers. I'm
worried about those. I'm obsessed with them. Zignes. That's what
they're all about. Designs. Dave Marcus, welcome.

Speaker 13 (01:23:54):
Oh Marcus, I'm regular team. I'm just got a six
x old jacket, well Jackiet. When I say jacket, it's
like a hoodie, a heavy engauge hoodie with multiple pockets.
And I've got it in the post. You just got
delivered yesterday. Cost me thirty six dollars and there's only

(01:24:15):
one article that I got. But is for the cotton
six XL T shirts or clothing excellent, But anything else
I wouldn't touch it because I've had a couple of
bad byes with a flask that came over. It was
only five hundred mile with little cups, and there's a
waste of time. And Marcus, I was going to ask

(01:24:38):
you about tobacco. What was there about You're saying about tobacco.
It's I'm a cigarette smoker.

Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
Well, the new sensation in America via Sweden is zidwyan.

Speaker 13 (01:24:51):
Pouches, zad w pouches.

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
It's called zigns and you just have them in your
mouth the whole time, and people now in your mouth.

Speaker 13 (01:25:01):
Was it chewing tobacco?

Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
Well, it just sits there on your gum and you
absorb it through the day.

Speaker 13 (01:25:07):
I do that with heavy Troll lozenges.

Speaker 14 (01:25:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (01:25:09):
Well, I'm sucking on one of the end of the moment,
and you're disappointed with Liam Lawson. I thought it was
a dem porchew.

Speaker 3 (01:25:18):
I mean, hang on, hang on into these pouches. Do
you reckon?

Speaker 13 (01:25:23):
No, it doesn't sound like for me, Marcus. I'll sick
with smoking that I know.

Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
No one knows you're doing it. You go anywhere, you
go to your meetings, your corporate meetings, in your calm
because it's in your mouth giving you the nicotine.

Speaker 13 (01:25:35):
I see what you mean. But I get the heavy
Troll two miligram long is it?

Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
Is it a nicotine gum as well a lozenge?

Speaker 13 (01:25:45):
Yes, it's a lozenge, Marcus. You can get the gag.

Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Why you're still smoking and you're taking lozenges.

Speaker 13 (01:25:51):
Because I'm a nicotine Edit, Marcus, I'm addicted to nicotine
and I'm a cigarette smoke here and when I'm not smoking, like,
I'm sucking on a lozenge. Now what should be?

Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
But aren't you supposed to be on the lozenges because
you're cutting down?

Speaker 13 (01:26:04):
Yes, he is that yell. I'm I am cutting down
from about twenty a day to perhaps ten or twelve.
Oh good on you, yeahs Eccho mcgam I made the
Riverstone's going.

Speaker 3 (01:26:19):
To be a Windfield? Do they still have Windfield reds?

Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
No?

Speaker 13 (01:26:22):
Mate too expense for Ronfield? Where is Chesterfield now? Rinfield red?
I don't haven't bought a packet of that or pull
them all four years?

Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
Okay, so you're still in the odd analog, the old taylors.
Hey tell me something that day before you go. What
describe that jacket to me again?

Speaker 13 (01:26:37):
Oh, it's a six seeks ol winter jacket, which means
it's quite heavy duty, heavy gauge it like Is it.

Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
Like a puffer jacket?

Speaker 13 (01:26:47):
No, it's more like a swan dried jacket with multiple pockets,
keny pockets and zip pockets at the side on each sleeve,
and good for winter. That's what I got it for.
I wanter pull over. But hey, Marcus, I've had good
results from Timu with clothing socks. I've been a fair

(01:27:08):
of the price and also good quality cotton t shirts,
say six ex hel for me, and we had a
fear of the price on what's in the shop.

Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
How much was the jacket? Thirty six dollars delivered years.

Speaker 13 (01:27:20):
I got it yesterday and it's sitting there in a bag.
I heave't xtally opened it, but look it came in
a bag. It was the only thing in the article
I bought, and it was a big bag. You know,
quite a substantial item.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
Brilliant. Okay, we're happy. See where could you make that
for thirty six bucks? How did that's good cotton? Find
cotton Marcus. I'm a big fan. Buy nonline. Also buy
stuff from Timmy. She's right. Hard to get the size
when shipping online. Brilliant. Yeah, I mean, I'll tell you what.

(01:27:59):
People on the show, they love it. They don't. They don't,
don't they all work's rubbish. They just love it. Fancy
buying oath, I mean me saying that sounds a bit judgmental,
but still cheapest. Creepers. How will people ever survive in retail?
Get in touch marxx till twelve So some of the

(01:28:22):
news to hand. Chris Bishop today said it's going to
be a tunnel or a bridge through the White and Botare.
They're going to start working on a second halb of
crossing in Hawk's by a napier because the National Aquarium
they might want to turn that into panderland. They'll get
the panda bears to make it financially sustainable. I'd go
and see the pandas, even at a down day. That

(01:28:43):
would be well. I'd go and see them. And I'm
opposed to zoos, but yeah, I think it's a good thing.
I think panders to transcend zoos. Liam Lawson looks like
he's gone from the Red Bull team, but we don't
know that yet. But there's twists and turns in this sport.
That sounds a bit corny to it, but there were

(01:29:03):
a lot of twists and turns at Shanghai. Went there,
Marcus Temu. Temporary drainage pipes were attached to houses, although
still reuseful, were designed to fit American drain so probably
the woman's hose fitting was as well. Well, how narrow

(01:29:26):
American hoses? And if your courier tell me how much
your business is, is it still fifty percent? An email
from Chris on Liam Lawson. Marcus not too knowledgeable on
if one. But the keyboud worry is of vicious and nasty.
Liam is twenty three years old. I'm sure he's surrounded

(01:29:47):
by good people who will support him. But just think, people,
what harm you could be doing to a young man
just trying to do his best. I am ho, good,
luckily and whatever comes to you. That's the thing that
when I tried to sort of get a little bit
more into the sport and find out what people were
saying about it, there's no middle ground or considered comment

(01:30:10):
on social media. It's all just oh, you loser or
cheap as creepers? What's he doing?

Speaker 8 (01:30:14):
You know?

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
It's it's tribal. It makes ford versus Holder, see Ford
versus Hold, and seem quite tipping in comparison. I mean,
she's full on anyway. I don't know why it's become
that way. I don't know if that TV show about
the Formula one has got people polarized, But it seems

(01:30:38):
like you for the young people, it's young mean, it
seems that you're not just watching it, you're actually well
maybe that's maybe they encourage that, maybe the merchandising to
buy shoots and stuff like that.

Speaker 12 (01:30:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
Eighteen to eleven people, how are you? What's happening? If
you've got breaking news, let me know what it is.
It's been a while between Wallabye sightings. Got about quiet
the Wallabies. Maybe they've got them contained. Tim Beverage on
from twelve o'clock tonight. Also tonight that I can tell
you that. I can tell you that, and the Pope.

(01:31:12):
He's been discharged after an eight weeks day in hospital.
Today is the fifth anniversary of New Zealand's full first
full day alert level four. There you go, and lem

(01:31:33):
Lawson finished twelfth at Shanghai. The next Formula One event
is the first weekend in April in Japan. I'm not
sure what car he will be in then. I'm looking
for information about that. It is spinach day today. I
don't know what you're supposed to do with it, but
days of the year is spinach day. Different suggestions for

(01:32:00):
that spinach uta chok and zucchini dip or spinach span
ah coppita. Eh goodness me with the old philopastry a
wrapper all up delicious. There you go, free high in
vitamin A via eyes and vitamin C. I think people

(01:32:22):
probably know that about spinach getting touch. You want to
talk with something different, You want to mention topic agnostic tonight.
The more the maria someone wants to know that they
product recalls. I don't know about that, Marcus. If you
have seen at and sena Elin prost saga, big problem

(01:32:42):
was head management had preference for one driver over the other.
Lawson maybe getting the same treatment like your rhetoric, if
that is the right word, keep up the best work
cover of the North. Marcus bought the Habbia three pots
still made some fruit. Brandy Moonshine could have run the
car on it. Loll two thirty delivered. Husband loves it.

(01:33:04):
I've heard a lot of people buying stills from Feels
Red Jukes a hazard uh to akwhere Marcus randomly? Which
way do you face in the shower? Came up in
conversation the other day and I never thought about it before.
I thought everyone knew that you face the shower rose.
Apparently my husband disagrees cheap as I always thought everyone was.

(01:33:27):
It called a rose, It should be called a who
knows Jimmy Marcus?

Speaker 12 (01:33:30):
Welcome, Hi Jimmy, Oh hi there mate, thank you for
taking my call. Listen, I just switched on and I
heard about Liam Lawson. Now I'll tell you what how
the tide has turned? Look what's happened to Joe Parker?
By He's turned the tide right round. And this kid's
going to do the same. And God bless his soul.
Thank you for taking Michael.

Speaker 3 (01:33:50):
Jimmy is Joseph? Is Joseph the real deal again?

Speaker 12 (01:33:56):
Definitely all the way, all the way, Marcus.

Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
He's a thirty six.

Speaker 12 (01:34:04):
I think he's he round about their looks. Two different,
two different games. But you know you can't write people off.
And this young guy Liam is something special and I
believe it will turn around. It might take time, but
you know time's an essence, mate, and God willing, he

(01:34:27):
will come through it. I guarantee it, just the same
as Joe Pak did. Everyone rot him off. And look
at that kid. Now he's ready to go for something
goal and God willing he'll win it too, Thank you Marcus.

Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
And even if he doesn't, I mean it is an
exciting chapter of his life. He's young. You can go
do something else. I don't got a problem with that anyway.
Feel free to get in touch. My name is Marcus.
Welcome HDDLE twelve. Also about Timmy and the harb of
Crossing and Pandala. No one seems to want pand as
a napier.

Speaker 14 (01:34:57):
No one.

Speaker 3 (01:35:00):
Someone says it depends if you're washing your front till
your bag. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I just thought people, Yeah,
what do they call a shower rose? Looks nothing like
a rose, does. It looks more like one of those
weird plants you see in the winter garden. She's probably

(01:35:24):
called a shower head also. But by the way, on
Liam Lawson, there's been no announcement that he's been dropped.
I'll do some bit of a googles or the other
thing that I was going to mention tonight. I saw
one of those stupid thirty tips to make your life easier.
It said store batteries in the fridge. Fristart who has

(01:35:49):
spear batteries? But I wondered if maybe you should store
your remote in the fridge might make it last longer.
Marcus a packet of twenty in Thailand, twenty cents with
medical marijuana on the increase. The swab test will fail. Yeah,
I wonder how they're going to handle that. I mean,

(01:36:14):
not really have an opinion on roadside testing for drugs,
but I think probably it sounds more straightforward than I'm
sure it probably is. I mean, I don't know how
many people they will will catch, but there we go.

(01:36:35):
It's coming about what's coming in things. I think the
green is I think us in first Act, National and
Labor all supported that particular bill, so they will buy it.
Be roadside testing and I don't quite know how to.
I guess they have to take bloods well they I
don't know. Maybe they've got some detector that can detect

(01:36:57):
it and then take you off for further things. I'm
surprised so often I've been getting breathalyzed recently. It's just
a focus in Southland, but it probably happens every month
for me, which is surprising. Marcus red Bull are losing
Honda Engines. At the end of the season. They're going

(01:37:20):
to Aston Martin. As Honda are big backers of Yuki.
He probably won't stay with Red Bull, as Max has
been quoted. Red Bull only have the fourth fastest car.
Get the cars sorted. I'm sure Liam will improve. That's
from Debbi. It's amazing how many different forms of motor

(01:37:42):
racing we're obsessed with in this country, isn't it? How
are you going people? My name is Marcus hid On
Midnight Tonight, eight hundred and eighty ten eighty and nine
to nine to detect. Listen, thanks for hanging on there.
It's Marcus. Welcome. Hang on, let me just get this
button in the right placey, it's Marcus. Welcome and good
evening to you.

Speaker 17 (01:37:59):
Listen, Marcus, just talking about fairly your tunnel. I think
see an obvious answer is that bridges are considerably cheaper.
But the bigger problem you've got is how it will
connect with the existing road systems, because it doesn't help
if you build a bridge but to here that the

(01:38:21):
people can't get to it well from wherever they are.
So the first problem is to decide where it's going
to be. But ned more importantly, the question is not
how we are going to afford it. Some international organization
is going to build either a bridge or a tunnel,
and to do that they are going to put up

(01:38:42):
all the money. They're not ben going to borrow locally.
They are going to find international funding for it, but
they will get a ten year contract to toll with
no government interference on setting the toe. If you want
an example of how this worked brilliantly, you have to
look at Hong Kong. We're somewhere in the nineties. They

(01:39:03):
decided to link Carloun with about Victoria Island and they've
built two six lane tunnels, six lanes each way, and
they got ten years to pay for it. It paid
for itself in three years. The people who built it
made a fortune. So if we're happy enough for foreigners

(01:39:25):
to take money off us, they'll build it for us
for nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:39:30):
What do you think would make more sense?

Speaker 17 (01:39:34):
As I said, well, on a cost basis, because you
don't have to worry about ventilation, you don't have to
worry about earthquakes, and then they and the sky falling
in or the water coming in on top of it.
The answer is it has to be a bridge. And
if you look around the world, it's brought at the
bridge building that has taken place in the last twenty years.

(01:39:56):
It gets incredible, the length that they've gone, the depth
that they've had to put the piles. But the point
is there's plenty good bridge builders out there.

Speaker 3 (01:40:07):
I don't even know if the quake having quakes would
be a considered Alkan seems to be very seismically quiet,
but yeah, I can I can see there would be
challenges for tunnels and challenges for the for the rock
as well. Are you involved in roading? Listen not at all.

Speaker 17 (01:40:27):
But I do say I've looked at it, you know,
when diving, and I say, somewhere, if you've come out
of the Waterview tunnel turning the left or right and
you're getting getting onto the interesting highways, you just have
to have another circle and cross that water. But you've
got to sit across to the other side. And I
don't think that getting across to the Chelsea Sugar factor

(01:40:50):
you're going to work too well. But no, I feel
I feel roads.

Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
I feel I feel we've had to have a We
needed to have a unified plan a long time ago,
because I know certainly when the motorway went through Spaghetti
Junction down to the all those plates, I mean, the
number of houses and suburbs that were lost was extraordinary,
and I don't think there would be that appetite to
lose that many houses. Again. Yeah, I don't know how

(01:41:17):
they could do it and prevent that.

Speaker 17 (01:41:20):
Well, the answer is you either say we're building it,
that we have to do and that's it, or you're
going to spend the next thirty years arguing over whether
you can knock a house down. Yeah, but it comes back,
but it comes back to linking the North and the
South Island. Clearly the ferry service is inferior to a

(01:41:44):
bridge or a tunnel. Now, you can't build a bridge
that that link because it's just too too far. Plus
you've got at that tide that you can't deal with
well at all. So I think it has to be
a tunnel in that case. And the real problem there
is the depth. But again people are not looking at

(01:42:04):
it directly there because you just have to build a
tunnel further away from where the fairries take. In other words,
it doesn't have to be Wellington and it has to
be much further across. And yeah, if you do it
that way again you've got to worry about the roading
system that goes with it. Again, if you did it

(01:42:26):
with road en rail, you would solve an awful lot
of problems.

Speaker 3 (01:42:31):
Nice to hear from listen. Yeah, I don't think I'm
quite ready for the discussion on the tunnel between the
North and South Island yet. I think although it can
be done, it has been done internationally. I just don't
think we'd have the I'm going to be too expensive
for a toll to use it. That would be my
back on the envelope calculation done one recently Marcus. We

(01:42:53):
met Liam at my daughter's seventeenth birthday, which was roughly
six years ago here in the Muddy Pooka cor he
he was telling us about what he wanted to achieve
with driving a most personal young man. Nothing will stop
him now, Marcus and Wellington, there was Ani and mobile
five hundred good old days. How are you going people?
What's happening? Bridge versus tunnel?

Speaker 16 (01:43:15):
There we go?

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
What was that going to try about funding? Who's going
to pay for it?

Speaker 12 (01:43:18):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:43:19):
Well, well we have government bonds, couldn't we? How do
we pay for the harbor bridge? What about the old
rail system with Vogel? We borrowed money from overseas for that,
didn't we greatest public Works Act ever in this country?
And we're still kind of getting the rewards from that.

(01:43:39):
The rail up and down the country wouldn't be done
now unbelievable foresight or I don't even know in hindsight
what you'd say about the WHO railway network. It might
have seen overly grand and ambitious, got the people where
they needed to be. Anyway, how are you going? People?
Also chucked in all the other topics tonight, TMU and

(01:44:03):
those pouches in your mouth, the nicotine pouches. Good evening,
Alliot's Marcus, Welcome and good evening.

Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
Evening, Marcus.

Speaker 2 (01:44:15):
How are we?

Speaker 5 (01:44:15):
I'm just driving underneath the flags on the bridge as well.

Speaker 3 (01:44:19):
Well, you couldn't put flags on a tunnel.

Speaker 6 (01:44:21):
Could you.

Speaker 5 (01:44:23):
Well, no, that probably wouldn't work. The well, you wouldn't
get much freeze down there.

Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
No, what is the tunnel equivalent to the flag?

Speaker 5 (01:44:32):
I don't know, okay, but they are doing some work
on the bridge, or heard you're talking about it this evening.

Speaker 2 (01:44:37):
Yes, you know.

Speaker 5 (01:44:39):
The only time that they're going to build a new
harbour crossing is when the bridge balls over pretty much, isn't.

Speaker 8 (01:44:44):
It at this rate?

Speaker 3 (01:44:45):
Well, and I'm always thinking bridges are so damn expensive,
and you're going to have a motorway onto there. They
take up acres of land? Maybe the better answer? Right,
here's my thinking. Why are people crossing the bridge?

Speaker 5 (01:45:02):
I'm going home?

Speaker 3 (01:45:05):
So where do you work.

Speaker 5 (01:45:07):
In Mount Albert?

Speaker 2 (01:45:09):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (01:45:09):
So needs could you do your job? Could you do
your job on the north shore?

Speaker 5 (01:45:16):
Yeah, we're looking at a warehouse maybe on that side
of the bridge.

Speaker 3 (01:45:20):
But it's the answer.

Speaker 5 (01:45:22):
I live at Hillcrest at the moment, and it's for
me to get to Mount Albert in the mornings half
an hour.

Speaker 3 (01:45:28):
That's not bad.

Speaker 5 (01:45:30):
Get off, Get off the sorry, get on the motorway
at the first on rent to the motorway, I mean
to the Harbor Bridge and then I'm getting off at
Saint Looks, so you know, there's not much traffic.

Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
My thinking is if they made the North Shore more
of its own city, then people wouldn't need to leave.
But I don't know what you'd require. I don't know.
I don't know why people are going back the.

Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
Job the people yet the jobs for the people. Takapoon
is lovely, it's got you know, there's spent a lot
of the council and there's spent a lot of money
on upgrading the main strip through Takapoona, but I still
don't see many high risers going up with apartment blocks
for people to be limited. That's what they need, whether
or not, well, that's what they need. But you know,
investment in this country at the moment pretty pretty rare,

(01:46:13):
isn't it. You know, I know the government's trying to
encourage investment, but there isn't too much going on.

Speaker 3 (01:46:19):
What's the population of the north Shore would be four
hundred thousand. No, I would never clue anything about that.

Speaker 5 (01:46:28):
You think, so, wouldn't you. Well, it depends how far
up north Togo do you count?

Speaker 3 (01:46:32):
Yeah, you would, you would, You'd go all the way
you go up, you go up to Hatfield speech and
come across to may Grove or Mayfield. What's that big
brand new subdivision? Yeah, and come across the Green Hive Yeah, Milldale.
I reckon they're big. So I'm just trying to think
what they've got a university. I was going to say
they had a university, but the mess university closed over there.

(01:46:53):
I just feel if it became more self contained. Okay,
it's downsize but still there. Okay, yeah, two hundred and
sixty thousand. So it's it's yeah, okay, I need an airport.
I think probably the biggest bug beer is the airport.

Speaker 17 (01:47:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:47:18):
Well, if I'm talking about but that's more west orpron
isn't it as such?

Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
Work though? It's say, well, though, I reckon ten percent
of those trips across the bridge of people going to
the airport. That's my thinking anyway. Oli, But thank you,
nice to hear from you. Twenty eight past eleven. That's
the answer. Get an airport, so much the traffics to
do with the airport and the meander around, that's what

(01:47:49):
you want. Do it for pie somewhere like that, Marcus,
As a fellow Southerner, I am appalled to hear of
an out of the blue announcement of a proposed initial
hospital for South Auckland, well after years of debate, controversy, impolicization,
and then gets a delayed cut price and adequate replacement.
Of course, the South isn't quite as important. That's from
Brent Marcus. Let's not forget Winston comparing himself to Julia's

(01:48:14):
Vogel guests. We'll find out in five days. By the way,
was do you Plymouth got a suburb Vogel Town? Is
that to do with Julia's Vogel or the bread?

Speaker 2 (01:48:24):
Calvin, Very good evening to your Marcus. You were earlier
on in your program you've stayed at the year. It
was nineteen eighty something or other. I decided to go
up to Aukland from the tron, stay the night and
go to the Auckland Zoo and have a look at
the two pandas.

Speaker 3 (01:48:41):
Let's start at the beginning.

Speaker 2 (01:48:42):
What year. Was it, Well, everybody said it on your program.
I think it was eighty two, was it?

Speaker 3 (01:48:49):
No, it was later than that. I think it might
even been as far as nineteen ninety.

Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
Oh, I don't think it was that late. Often it
might have been the mid to late eighties. But anyway,
I saw the two pandas. It was a sunny day,
although later on it did rain. But I saw the
two pandas and they were only about as big. The
size was only about as big as a cocker spaniel dog.
Really really really really yep, that's the size of them.

(01:49:24):
And then later on I went along to have a
look at we've got them here in Hamilton Zoo. Now
the one of the mere cats. Those little animals will
stand up on their rear legs and keep a lookout yees.
Sooner so the two pandas they were good had to
queue up. And you're you're only allowed a certain.

Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
Because you could because you couldn't buy a ticket on
the end. Did you buy a ticket from ticket tick
with something or because you couldn't be on the did
you buy the ticket and Hamilton?

Speaker 2 (01:49:53):
Now I bought the ticket at the entrance to the
Auckland Zoo.

Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
Well, because I think people did book.

Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
Okay, yeah, there we go, yep for care for cash
for cash here the only legal tender in New Zealand.
So anyway, in the queue where the air enclosure was,
you only they let only about three or four or
six people through at a time, and then you're only

(01:50:20):
allowed a certain time. You know, I don't know how long.
It wasn't very long, only a couple of minutes or
something or other. So they kept the old flow of
the people going along came. I had my eyesight so
black and white. They were beautiful little creatures and that

(01:50:41):
one run. Yeah when I when I was a young fella.
They originally used to call the pandas panda bears. Then
quite a few decades ago they decided no, they weren't bears,
and they reverted to calling them pandas. But I think
in the last couple of decades or the last decade

(01:51:02):
or so, they've changed back to calling them a panda bear.
Are you on track with all of that what I've
just said?

Speaker 3 (01:51:10):
You know, I realized they went beers? What are they
are they?

Speaker 2 (01:51:17):
I think they've gone back to calling them a beer.

Speaker 3 (01:51:20):
Do you remember how much you paid?

Speaker 2 (01:51:22):
No, just the usual price to get in.

Speaker 3 (01:51:27):
Oh no, there was special Yeah. I think you had
to pay more than that, didn't you.

Speaker 16 (01:51:30):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:51:31):
I think I was there. You you weren't there.

Speaker 14 (01:51:33):
I was.

Speaker 3 (01:51:34):
I was quite involved with the hype. I think you
had to pay special money. No, yeah, I think you did.
But I'll defer to you where did you start?

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
You can you can think that, Marcus. But I was
here and got in their curity.

Speaker 3 (01:51:48):
I remember being involved with discussions and people saying yet
to Balke and it was quite complicated.

Speaker 2 (01:51:54):
I'm sure that for me. For me from the tron
I wasn't complicated at all. I drove up there, stayed
the night we'd you stay. I can't remember, in a
hotel somewhere.

Speaker 14 (01:52:05):
Remember.

Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
Not that good.

Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
It is excellent because there was originally a sunny afternoon,
then later on there was a quick heavy downpour.

Speaker 3 (01:52:14):
I'm sure you had the book. Do you mean what
their names.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
Were of who the Pandas?

Speaker 8 (01:52:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:52:23):
No, they didn't have names, Jiao Joao and fay Fe
lovely a beautiful. It costs quite a few million per
year to hire them out as it were, isn't it?

Speaker 8 (01:52:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
Absolutely five million or something or other.

Speaker 13 (01:52:40):
I think.

Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
Quite a lot they were thinking of getting they were
thinking of getting a couple here in the Hamilton Zoo,
but they've gone away from that idea.

Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
At the moment, you sure you didn't have to pay
more money?

Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
That was just a I am sure, I am sure. Okay,
So now you know, yes, yes, and now you know
when you talk to other people and say, oh no,
it was just ordinary price to get in.

Speaker 3 (01:53:08):
Well, what they couldn't they couldn't have been sustainable.

Speaker 2 (01:53:13):
Well the number of people going to the zoo, because
a lot of people wouldn't have bothered going to the zoo.
You see, that's the way it worked out. It was
a good afternoon anyway, seeing them. So you if they do,
if they do get some in New Zealand, you want
to take the opportunity to have a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:53:35):
Know, I certainly will go and see them.

Speaker 2 (01:53:36):
Yeah. But anyway, the two the two that were there
were small. As I said before, about the size that
you know how big a Crocker Spinel dog is, but
body size that was about the size of them. You
surprise you go up and back in a day, Neil,
I'm not surprised.

Speaker 3 (01:53:56):
Okay, well you be yeah, Well you wouldn't be surprised
because you can't surprise yourself, can you.

Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
No? Why why would you want to go up and
back in the day.

Speaker 3 (01:54:05):
That you only had two minutes with them?

Speaker 2 (01:54:08):
Yes, but they had look at all the other animals
in the zoo.

Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
I say, of course you did.

Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
Okay, yeah, and saw the meya cats, the mere cats.
You could go along on your hands and knees inside.

Speaker 3 (01:54:21):
You setnel and pop your head out.

Speaker 2 (01:54:24):
Yeah, like what they've got a McDonald's or whatever for
the kids. It was similar things to that.

Speaker 3 (01:54:29):
Yeah that's still there.

Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
I think, Oh yeah, yeah, they were quite cute animals.

Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
Oh yeah, okay, well I'll see confirmation. But I enjoyed
that very much, Calvin, So thank you for that.

Speaker 8 (01:54:44):
There we go.

Speaker 3 (01:54:44):
We spoke to the man that went to see the pandas.
I'm sure you had to book. Could someone tell because
someone will have a ticket there somewhere. Nineteen eighty seven
pandas at the zoo went all the way from in
the cargo to see them. Pandas should be cheap. They're
made in China. Quite good.

Speaker 1 (01:55:03):
