That you faced part of it. There is one.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Joy of being single with no kids, and it's I
have no real responsibilities.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
We go this is the slightly messy Show with Mike
and Meghan.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
State means a messy show, messy, messy Mican Megan. It's
a slightly messy show with Mike and Meghan.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Well, Peanut, it was a little it feels like it
was yesterday, but that was like what almost two years ago?
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Now, No, it was not.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
It feels like I don't know, it was a while ago.
But she sounds even totally different now. Now she's doing
running clubs and all sorts of other things. And what
did she say the other day, that's my daughter set
so Anyways, it's a slightly messy show. My name is
Mike from the B ninety three Morning Show in Megan
May from the Mojo in the Morning. Yeah you are,
(01:59):
You're back. It's been a couple of weeks. No I
missed why. I know you were on vacation for one,
but were you sick or something?
Speaker 4 (02:06):
I was super sick. I'm actually still kind of sick.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
I think I had the worst vacation of all time
because I've been sick for two and a half weeks.
I got the gnarliest sinus infection I've ever had, and
then what my doctor described as a severe case of laryngitis.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Oh it was.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
She was like, I've never seen anybody with laryngitis this bad.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Who didn't have pneumonia? Because I got tested for that.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
And they were like, not pneumonia and not covid, but
you got a really bad sinus infection and a really
bad laryngitis.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Holy and then I saw it. But then I saw
you came in a day. So did you get everybody
else sick too? Okay, I will die on this hill.
keV got me sick.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Okay, keV got me sick because he was sick for
like two weeks and came in every day and I
was like, you're gonna get us all said, this is
why everybody hates parents, because your kids go to Petri
Dish schools and then you take it of work and
all of a s single people who could avoid it.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Are that susceptible to your germs.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
It's bad. Yeah, this year, it feels like.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
So I was like out cold for two days.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
So I was out Monday and Tuesday like out out, out,
out out. Wednesday, I came in and I wasn't feeling good,
but I was like, I cannot miss three days of work.
I cannot miss it. Woke up on Thursday and I
have an alarm clock that is on my Alexa and
so I was like, and people listen to it on
those devices.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
So I won't say it, but I said, name of
that device, uh cancel alarms, but I went I was like, oh.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
No, oh no no, And I was like, you ever had?
And then I started coughing and I had that seal cough,
that one that's like and I'm just like, well, I'm
not going in today.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I already had the next week off.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
That first half of the week, I was just as
sick as I was the second half of the first week,
and then by the end of the week it was
like I still felt super crummy, but I mean I
was able to get some stuff on my to do
list done.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
But I've even today.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I deleted the studio a couple of times during the
show to just like cough and sneeze and.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Blow my nose and all that. I'm like, I'm not
really one hundred.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Percent, but I'm definitely way better than I was. But
how much time can you take off before it's.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Like, sure, I think you have to get after I
don't know the exact amount of time.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I genuinely don't know the answer to.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
That, but I know at some point you have to
get like a almost like a doctor's note.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
So I did you had to?
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Well, I didn't have to. Nobody told me I had to.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
But I was in and out of urgent care so
often that because I was on like multiple rounds of steroids,
multiple rounds of antibiotics, like because it wasn't getting better.
And I was like, this is like, guys, I'm on
day eight and this is still really severe. And she
was like, Okay, I'll write your note for your boss
and I called him and I was.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Like, where do I submit my letter?
Speaker 4 (04:57):
And he was like, you don't have to submit a let.
I can hear you're sick.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
And I was like the company They yes, that's because
you got you got a good boss. The company does
have a thing where you have to fill it out.
I don't know how many days it is and you
probably don't even have to do it, but they make
you almost like a doctor's note when you were in school,
Like it's like FML something or I don't know what
it's called.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Well, how sad is this?
Speaker 2 (05:21):
I was?
Speaker 4 (05:22):
They were like, do you have sick time? I've worked for.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
This company so long that I have over four months
worth of sick time saved up because that's how long
I've been here and how rarely I take sick days,
And so everybody's like, I hope you have enough sick time,
and I'm like, I gotta be gone for four months?
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Babes. Did you know at a certain.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Point my health indurians, I stopped doing the whole Do
you want to paid for part time disability which is
what most women do in case they get pregnant, like
for maternity leave, And I went no, I'll get paid
better if I just use my sick time.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, so I'm good if that.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
Uh, if if I have a menty be at any
time and I just feel like I need to take
a month or two, oh yeah I got.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I got sick days for days.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
How long have you been with the company, Oh, almost
twenty years?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Almost twenty years? Ever since?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've been here fourteen Yeah, so it
added up.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
So I was like, I'm good.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I don't take sick time like I don't. I'm not
on wood. I don't get sick very often. I think
during COVID. I got COVID, and obviously we had to
take sick time. And other than that, I couldn't tell
you the last time I called off of work in years.
And you and I know from being in different markets
from our morning shows, Like you can't call off at
(06:41):
five o'clock in the morning. So like, there were plenty
of days I should have taken a sick day, but
my ass was in studio going I'm not talking today,
I'm violently ill, but I'm here operating the board, and
I refuse to put in sick time if my ass
is in this year.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Wait, I think it did the math wrong. What's two
thousand and six minus this year nineteen? Okay, okay, okay,
So I was close, all right, I don't math. I
don't math.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I don't math.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Oh my god.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
So I haven't had a chance to catch up with you.
And I know we have to jump off here quick,
I know. So I feel like this is going to
be another quick one. But please explain the ring camp
story really quick, so we.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Could get into that.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
So, my next door neighbor in my apartment complex just
installed a ring camera, and as a woman, I am
fully aware of the need for security.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Okay, I live alone. I'm one hundred percent into that.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
My building has three forms of security to get to
your apartment door that has another key, so there are
three locked doors that you have to get through just
to get to your apartment door, which is also locked.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
And we are also in a hallway where the only
two people that will be seen on that ring camera.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Are me and my neighbor.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
And I know, yeah, I don't have the right. I
do not have the right to say this. I don't
like that he has a camera.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Yeah, but it is kind of different because I have
the ring cam on the like my house but like
it kind of shows some of the neighbors, and I've
questioned that even like, am I allowed to have this
if it's facing somebody else's property and you are, I
guess it's not that big of a deal.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
But it is always staring into their front yard.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Right in your case, it's an apartment, so it's very
very like intimate, and it is just you.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
So our doorframes touch. So he's out the end of
a hallway. Like if I'm walking to my apartment, I
walk towards his door and then my door's on the left.
So our apartments really the way mine's set up. When
I walk on my front door, there's a short hallway
to like get me to the side of the building
and then it goes down into my apartment.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
So like my first hallway goes around his unit.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
So like our doors literally touch, and they're sitting at
a ninety degree angle from each other. So his ring
camera is like six inches from my face as I'm
unlocking the door.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
All right, So this is what I want to do,
because we have to make this a short one today.
I want anybody that's listening to this to let us
know if she should say something or not. We'll come
back next week and we'll read some of the dm
