Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Tuesday, Q and A Day and I've been bringing
on guests for my Q and a's lately, and today
I've got Mary and Mary. The fun part about guests
is they read read the questions. Okay, I have no
heads up on no warning on this, no heads up,
no warning? Why would we do that? That would be no.
(00:22):
I like to just go with the flax. She hasn't
even read over these questions today. But no, you'll. I
feel like you'll have some of the same answers as
me if we discuss them. So thank you to everybody
that's submitted. Here we go. This is from Sarah hi Amy,
loving all the great information on the podcast. I struggle
with mindless snacking and I'm looking for healthier options that
(00:43):
are helping my body. I was wondering if you could
share what your go to snacks are. Thank you for
all the positivity. Oh man, go to snacks. I love
rice cakes. It's a big one and I feel like
I'm always rice cakes with nut butter. Don't knock it
till you try it. At least fills you out to Yeah,
nut butter, maybe some honey or if you're trying to
watch your sugar, you can even just do nut butter
(01:04):
with a drop of stevia and some sea salt. That
is so good. Skinny pop we love popcorn, either boom
chickpop or skinny pop. I'm big on that for a snack.
And they make skinny pop makes, don't they make like
the little individual individual bags, so that way there's portion control. Uh,
apple with a nut butter is a snack of mine.
(01:25):
Dark chocolate I love that Tazza chocolate, the wicked dark
because really you only need like one piece. But if
that's way too dark for you, I get a dark
you can get you can get the uh beef jerky.
You know now that I'm all about the meats. Uh
guys Amy eats meat now, Yeah, I w it is crazy, definitely.
(01:48):
It just eat whatever whatever I'm in the mood for.
It's like fine, I mean within means and trying to
be healthy and take care of my body and build
muscle and stuff like that. So oh the bars, we
love Mary and I like bulletproof bars. Those are good snacks.
Quest bars are amazing, though they're not that healthy for you.
What's another bar? Oh? I did a whole four things
(02:10):
on bars, A long, long, long, long, long, long time ago.
It was in my four Things podcast. But what was
the other one? Oh um, Primal Kitchen the macadamia nut,
although they changed the recipe, I think I don't know
that it's the same. And then on my Amazon page
which you can find it Radio Amy, there's these crazy crackers.
They're called the g G brand sweet Thins with raisin
(02:32):
and honey, and they they're really good, like really really good.
So there's some snack options for you hopefully that will help.
And sometimes our Machu Late which is in the highlights
page on our Instagram accounts, like at Radio Amy, is
a place where you can find it that can be
a snack. Just put it up and it's Macha has
a little caffeine. It's can be an afternoon pick me up.
(02:52):
But okay, the next question is from Abby Hi Amy.
I love your podcast The Bobby Bones Show and everything
you do with this out forward keep sending out the
love and enjoy. Quick question. I do not eat meat,
but I do eat fish. I've been thinking of switching
my normal protein powder with a vital protein in my smoothies.
Do you have a review on the vital proteins marine collagen?
Would you recommend swapping a protein powder for a collagen peptide.
(03:15):
Thank you. Okay, I've never used the marine, have you. No, No,
I've only used I've seen it, and I'm like, i've
seen it, and I'm pretty sure the fish in it
is snapper because I've looked it. Yeah, so it's from
a snap for fish. So there's that. But I am
sure that it's great. But I've just never tasted it,
like the unflavored collagen peptides that come from a cow.
(03:38):
Like those, I don't taste it. There's no flavor, but
other brands I taste it. So why I don't know why,
because they say they're unflavored, but vital proteins they legit
don't have a flavor. The texture is good too. It
doesn't like to make drinks weird or but I did
recently learn and last week, if you listen to the
four Things podcasts with uh Kelly Laveck, I did learn
(04:00):
earn that. Oh no, that's coming up this week. I'm
all kinds of confused. Never mind ignore me on that
if it hasn't come out yet. But Aaron actually is
the one that told me about this, and then I
asked my my nutritionous friend Kelly about it. But vital
proteins is not a complete protein. The collagen peptides is
(04:20):
not a complete protein, so you don't want that to
replace like a legit protein powder that has the complete
chain of amino acids. Not a scientist here, don't understand
how the how at all makes up. But if you
think of like all the chains that make a complete protein,
it takes I think nine amino acids and the vital proteins.
(04:41):
The collegen peptides does not have that, So just know
that it can still contribute. Right, It's great for hair,
skin and nails, and it contribute. It can contribute towards
a protein intake, but it's not a protein quote unquote
full protein supplement, Like is if right? If you're going
to eat like, the best way I can say it
is you adding that marine vital proteins the snapper into
(05:03):
a drink is not the same thing as you eating fish,
Like you're going to get complete protein when you eat
the fish. But if you were to buy a protein
powder that has complete protein all about pro mix right now,
which I just ordered. I clicked the wrong wink on
Amazon and I thought I was ordering a small tub
of this pro mix raw chocolate vegan protein powder, which
is a complete chain of amino acids, by the way,
(05:25):
and it arrived in its massive it's bigger than my head.
It's o big. I was there which she opened the package. Yeah,
next question, Okay, this is from Caitlin. Hi Amy. I'm
a huge fan of you in your podcast. I love
my cool mom crop hoodie. I do have a question
that kind of random, but I'm a huge fragrance cent
person and I would love to know what type of
perfumer you are, if any. I'm always curious about people's
(05:47):
signature sense and secretly hope to find a new favorite
for myself through other people's favorites. I feel like there's
so many different perfumes that are super cheap or way
too expensive, so I went with a middle ground one
for you that I love, and it's Victor and Rolf,
which is Victors spelled with a K. It's called flower Bomb.
Anytime I wear a flower bomb, people ask what are
(06:08):
you wearing? And then fun fun fact, if you have
to be married, you can get your husband or a
boyfriend or whatever spice bomb and then you can match
and it's by the same brand. M Victor and Rolf
and even better if you want to switch it up,
the spice Bomb for men. It smells so good you
can even wear it if you're a girl, so like
it doesn't smell too manly, so boom, get yourself flower Bomb,
(06:31):
get your man spice Bomb. But then you kind of
really get too because you can borrow it. And then
Philosophy is another awesome brand that's out there. And Mary
and I were kind of talking about this before, and
you like the Amazing Grace. They have like body wash, conditioner, lotion, everything,
and they have spray to it just smells really like
clean and fresh. I love it. Yeah, so that's another
(06:53):
one to check out that we recommend. And I think
that one is kind of pink, maybe the Amazing Race.
The packs offer ones, but yeah, the right we don't
want to buy. We don't want you to buy the
wrong one. But Philosophy is the branch. Okay, next question, Okay, Hi, Amy,
(07:16):
love the podcast The Bobby Bones Show and all things
shot forward. Because of my schedule, I have to work
out early in the mornings and I often feel low
on energy and very tired. I'm wondering if you use
or have ever tried pre workout or for some extra energy.
I've never tried pre workout, but my husband does. I
don't even know what to tell you about that, So
I'll ask him to come back on and maybe clarify
(07:38):
what his pre workout is. Or maybe that's a question
I can have Adam Bobo coming answer. It's like a
like a like a pow powder that you can put
in water and like eight ounces and shake it up
and it just gets your body ready for working out
energy wise. But there are clean and healthy ones. There's
some that have all kinds of crazy chemicals that I
would I feel could give you a heart attack maybe,
(08:00):
so I would still clear that. But there is a
clean one that I know that Adam Bobo recommends, So
you could even hit him up on Instagram, but I
will get him on or my husband on to talk
about one that they like. But something that I use
that Aaron Opriha on my trainer recommends is Beat juice.
A shot of it about three ounces of Beat juice
lemon and ginger, And if you have a juice store
(08:22):
near you, you can They may only make a sixteen ounce,
but if you divide that by get a sixteen ounce
and make it, put it in a mason jar, keep
in your fridge, and drink it within three days and boom,
you have like four servings or four times three, yes
is twelve, so twelve ounces one. But if you get
sixteen ounces, you've got four four ounce servings. But you
(08:43):
see where I'm going. I wouldn't drink a whole big
old thing a Beat juice because I feel like that
would be a lot of sugar at least that's what
Aaron tells me. But taking a shot of it, she
swears by it, and I do it too, mixed with
the lemon ginger and Beat juice and boom, that'll get
you going. So maybe you try that if you can't. Okay,
next by Okay, This is from Lindsay. Hey, Amy, it
seems like there's soa been so much talk about the
(09:04):
cereal of like between the Cereal draft on the Bobby
Bones Show and talking about it with Laney and Walker
Hayes out of curiosity, what brain of cereal? Do you
feed your kids? Cereal? I'll overwhelms me. It is overwhelming.
And I never thought I was gonna be a cereal mom,
Like I thought, I'm always going to feed my kids
healthy breakfast, which I will say they do predominantly eat
(09:27):
a solid breakfast. We are all about eggs and avocados
and beans. Like my kids love at egg and black
bean mixture with avocado for breakfast. Or this morning, my
son had a leftover, majorly protein healthy waffle thing that
I've made, but it's full of stuff that's going to
get him ready for school. But on the weekends it
is so nice sometimes, or if we're in a hurry
(09:48):
where I just say, gravel bowl, fill it with milk,
which we use unsweet and vanilla almond milk, which I
think tastes really good with cereal, So get that, get
the cereal. And it's such an amazing feeling because break
us is like served and done in like less than
five minutes, and they've eaten it and we're out the door.
So I personally love and my kids love Nature's Path.
That's the brand. And I know if you grew up
(10:11):
eating Lucky Charms, this is not it. This is just
totally different because this is organic and gluten free, but
it's what we'd around here and my kids like it.
And the flavor is Sunrise crunchy honey. It's stuff Shira
and Stevenson approved, and that is hard to do, so boom.
Sometimes I'll even sprinkle this fiber cereal in there because
(10:33):
sometimes Stevenson really needs help go in the bathroom, but
he doesn't really know I put it in there, but
it just helps. Okay, Well, I have today's Q and
A yeah over now, thank you Mary for joining us.
If y'all Mary, Mary is I. She doesn't talk a lot.
It's so cute how you have. She definitely has her
(10:53):
like normal talking voice, which we all do, but then
she has her timid radio talked different. You're quieter. I
feel like people might be listening They're like, oh wow,
Mary's quiet, but you're not normally that how quiet? But
I feel like right now, you're just kind of like, okay,
next question. It seems the Delilah Mary has a Delia boys.
(11:17):
Maybe I need to try that. Watch Out, watch Out.
You're my competition. Okay. Well, if I'm ever sick, you
can okay, feel sure? Um people love you, Okay, so
uh follow her at the shot forward on Instagram at
Mary Underscore. She's at Mary be on Twitter, which is
how I met her. We still get questions, how did
you marry meet. It was Twitter for real, so for real,
(11:42):
it can happen. People bash the Internet, people bash social media,
but we are friends because of it, and it is
how I keep in touch a lot of people. It's
how we run our businesses, like that's how Mary runs
the shot Forward and how we run shop as Spa,
and how we're able to support Haitian Do Pimp and
Joy and all the other cool things. Oh, Mary has
a it's football season, so tell people about your football shirts.
(12:07):
Delilah's jaw just popped. I'm not sure she has a future. Yeah,
now I have no future and radio some jaws you sorry? Um? Yeah,
we just put launched these. This is my football watching sweatshirts.
And we have like twenty five variations of color combos
I think. So they're not for like specific teams, but
we hope that you can kind of find a color
(12:28):
combo that color like combo go for your team. Yeah. Yeah,
they're super cool. So Mary just has had those out
and of course if you're looking for like a game
day sweatshirt, they're super cute. Yeah, and they support military families.
The donation is made to our military fund for everyone
that's bought perfect and you can find those at the
shot forward dot com. But if you ever forget anything
(12:48):
and you want to make your way to like anything,
Pimp and Joy which is lives at the shop forward
site too, and shop us Boa which is under the
shot Forward umbrella. Radio Amy dot com is always easy
for people to remember, and that's where anything amazon. You
want to find a mine or my blog. Sometimes the
blog links back to the podcast too, so you can
(13:10):
find that there. Or if you just want to look
at photos of me, there's like three. It's really intricate website. Hey,
I get you. Where do you need to go? Yeah,
it's right, it works. Okay, we'll talk to you later.
Thank you, Mike,
