Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Well, I would like to say congratulations to mister Dall
Gray Hustake.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Do you remember right he.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Predicted Rory McElroy would win the eighty ninth playing of
the Masters, and that's exactly what happened. It was in
a playoff. He almost choked, but he ended up pulling
it off. So there it is.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
I also set up like a record of some sort,
right for like the triple Triple Crown of Golf for
something this season?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Uh no, but well, he he ended up completing what's
the Major Grand Slam if you will. Okay, so he's
won all the majors now and so this was the
one that had eluded him for quite a while. So
now with him picking up the Masters Major, he now
has all four of them. Not in the same year
(01:02):
because that would be something, but he has all four
the I think there's only six. I want to say
four or six. Yeah, you know what, I'm probably off
on that because I did not research that right before
we came on.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
But yeah, I'm not a golf guy. But congratulations yet,
that's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, oh are you kidding me? That's very very rare
air that he's in. Also, he's going to receive, of course,
his custom fit green jacket, a record four point two
million dollars in prize money. So that's the most prize
money they've ever offered for first So he picks up
four point two The guy was already worse stupid money anyway,
but it's never a bad thing to pick up an
(01:39):
extra four point two million, right.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Only six people? Thanksach, Yeah, I mean I've done that yet.
Money's always nice. That would make it worth it for
me to learn and enjoy golf if I knew I
had that kind of money coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Well, yeah, that's available for everyone, So hopefully you can
get people started if you have some sort of input
in their life now, which you do have some young
grandsons somehow getting them worked into that direction. Look, Stone's
starting to ask me stuff. He's eleven. He could very
well begin down that road. But man, the hardest part
(02:14):
of being a professional golfer is the few inches between
your ears.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
They say, your brain. You got to get out of
your own way.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
But anyway, back to this, he also picks up an
honorary membership to Augusta National. How my, I can't even
begin to imagine how that must feel, which means he
can go there as a member and play and all
of that stuff.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Fifty a year in value on that. Oh no, they
wouldn't even let Dave Thomas in there.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
To put it in perspective, Oh no, it's this is
the holy grail as far as getting in there, just
because you have the money doesn't mean anything. As far
as getting into Augusta National, it's harder to get It's
harder to get in there than it is to get Steelers,
you know, season tickets, if that even anyway, gold medal
(03:01):
and replica Masters Trophy, a lifetime invitation to the Masters,
a locker in the champions locker room, access to the
members only driving range, an annual invitation to the Champion's dinner.
So he's locked in now. Plus he got a congratulatory text.
Well it was a tweet from Tiger. I don't know
if you saw that, but Tiger said, proud of you,
you're now in the club. Congratulations, so on and so forth.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
That dinner probably isn't like you know, bacon eaters, isn't.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
No, it's the one like Scottie. Remember we went over
what he yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Since they wouldn't let Dave Thomas in, I was just
wondering maybe they'd at least let the burgers in.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
M not that Wendy's burgers. No, well, I guess if
somebody wanted that, they would do it. They said they
were joking around that if Bryson were to win, that
the dinner for next year would be a pre workout
protein shake. Then the first course would be sixty bicep curls.
Then the main course would be bacon strips personally fried
shirtless by the host, dessert YouTube video marathon, and then yeah,
(04:04):
served in honor of mister Bryson T shirt.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
I thought that was funny.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Itazon Socials yesterday, but as you know, he collapsed. So anyway,
all right, he is host of Ontarget. He's owner of
LAPD Firearms and range over there on Bethel Road. Eric
Delbert's joining us now, and Eric, how are you brother?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
I'm great? How could you be anything but great? When
that's seventy four degrees out? You know?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Oh so nice, so nice, but only to be the
rug pulled right out from under us tomorrow, the high
fifty two.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
I still got the shorts in for the first time
this year.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
He did, he did. Do you like him? Those are
some nice legs. Thank you, Vero, are some nice legs.
Here's are nice too, well, thanks, But I got jeens
around you. Ever seen erics? I have not seen eric
Are you familiar with toothpicks? Oh no, you don't get
the comment.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Are those your legs are? Are you're riding a chicken?
You don't get that comment.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
I'm going to keep this high level.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Family friendly.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yeah, He's like, I just want you guys to know
I got guns, just so you go ahead pick on
my legs some more.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
And he's like, don't think just because you're over there
in Granby, I don't have a gun that'll find you
over there.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
So you know, you just wait for a text later on.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
I'm just saying, I'm sure i'll get something nasty from you.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
You're right, though, man, it's so beautiful out and so on.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
It's it's just a great day to be here in
central Ohio and so on.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Set it bell fifty eight.
Speaker 6 (05:31):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I know this new law.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Took effect last Wednesday here in Ohio. The article that
I saw from Channel six, of course you're all through it.
Then I saw, of course the piece that was on
TV that you were on that as well.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
But talk to me about.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
This because they said it's poised to significantly impact gun
on owners' rights, but in a.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Good way, correct in a good way, and it's something
that you know, what Ohio did proactively, and I'm so
thankful to have the legislators in place like we do
that that saw this and did you know something proactive
to help Second Amendment enthusiasts going forward. And it had
two different parts to it. One is it insures going
forward that gun owners in Ohio will not have to
(06:13):
buy liability insurance simply for owning a firearm. So there's
no other constitutional right that says, you know, you must
buy insurance for it before you can exercise that right.
So that's a good thing, and that's what we were
seeing other states do doing and it was just really
another hurdle put into place for gun owners. The second
one really affects the stores more than the consumer, and
(06:37):
that one says that going forward in Ohio that the
banks can't mandate that the credit card processors put something
into place to identify transactions that are being done at
gun stores. And their whole argument was they were going
to monitor gun transactions by putting this code into place.
Our fear was if we were isolated out. The next step,
(07:00):
and we've already started to see this out West, was
them to say, hey, look, that's a risky industry by
their standards, and credit card fees for gun stores are
going to be five percent rather than two percent, let
alone tracking purchases of consumers at stores. So both of
those are really really good for second amendments.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeah, as far as they so let me get this straight,
they they were going to charge a five percent like
fee if it was gun store related.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Well, that's what we foresaw down the future. What they
were going to do was identify transaction at stores and
labeled them as gun store transactions. What they failed to
say is that when we pass a transaction along to
be paid in the merchant processing system, all we're passing
along is the credit card number and the total amount.
(07:55):
The banks don't see what anyone purchased that day. They
to see LAPD and persas something for one hundred dollars.
It could be anything, it could be a safe for
a T shirt or whatever. And so for them to
say we're going to take that data and identify those
people as having purchased a firearm was totally off, and
it had you know, nothing, nothing, but bad things could
(08:17):
occur from that in the future.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
And then as far as the insurance that they were
trying to say that, you know, as a gun owner,
you were supposed to have, you know, if you have
homeowners or anything of the like, even if you have
renters insurance or what have you. I would think so
unless there's negligence involved, But then that's going to end
up in court anyway. And then if you're if you're
(08:40):
found liable for that, it's a whole separate thing.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
You wouldn't even I would imagine you wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
You wouldn't be able to get coverage or have it covered,
say by your homeowners, if there was negligence involved, because
most likely, if there's negligence, there's probably a trip to
the courts. And then once they rule that against you,
I think that takes you out of the running for
having any kind of insurance anyway.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Or am I all wet on this?
Speaker 3 (09:04):
No?
Speaker 5 (09:05):
I think you're right.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
But the other part of that is, you know, they
always do this under the you know, the thinking that
it is gonna you know, curb some of the violence
we see in the streets and put people in check.
But the reality is the only people that would comply
are the good, law abiding people who don't have these issues.
To begin with, that good point, the criminals aren't going
to run out there and get insurance for owning their
(09:28):
illegal gun, just like they don't get in car insurance today.
So you know, the whole thing again was just another
hurdle for the law abiding gun owners.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yeah, it's just it's another obstacle in our way. And
it also feels like a bit of a money grab.
But I'm sure they are assurance insurance companies going. They
might have been on board with that. But then now
that I'm thinking about it, and of course this is
a real time because I haven't given it any real thought,
they might have also been like, well, we don't want
to ensure that. It almost might be like there's too
(09:56):
big of a liability there. Almost again, if you're if
you're in a let's say you're you know, you live
in Florida or you live in a high uh, you know,
a zone where there's you know a lot of catastrophe,
you know, nature catastrophes, like they don't want to ensure
you there or it's a crazy amount you.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Know, right, and dangers in the information though you know that, Eric,
it's not about the five percent or anything else. It's
okay that information suddenly being in a database where now
your insurance company knows, your healthcare provider, everybody knows you
had a transaction at the gun store. Suddenly you're no
longer deemed an accessible or acceptable life insurance risk because
the presence of your gun may make you suicidal. That
(10:36):
kind of crap is what real danger is.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
You're exactly right, Chuck. And the other part of that
was we were concerned that they would say, if they
identified this store with this code, that they would say, okay,
our credit card, our credit card, if you purchase or
have this in your wallet, you can't use it at
gun stores. And we saw that. We have seen customers
come in and the credit card company say, no, that's
too risky of a business. You know, it's like they're
(11:01):
buying drugs on the street with their credit card, right,
and it's too risky of a business, and they deny
the charge. So I can only imagine if we were
identified specifically by this code, what that could lead to.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Yeah, yeah, did you happen to see about Colorado?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
And one of the most restrictive gun laws in the country.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Where are you familiar with this whole situation or no.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
No, I haven't. Was it recent?
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Well, it was on Thursday and the governor there signed
into law what they're calling maybe the toughest gun control
regulations in state history. Under this new law, it's illegal
to buy, sell, and make most semi automatic firearms without
background checks and training. And you know, they go on
to talk about how this governor was under heavy pressure
(11:45):
to veto the bill from gun rights advocates, including Colorado's
Republican members of Congress, and they say this law is
incredibly unconstitutional, and then you know, the state sponsor was
trying to say, you know, it's life saving and all
of that, but yeah, it's the whole Basically it comes
down to, also, in addition to everything else Colorado is
(12:07):
they're not going to be able to avoid this new
restriction by buying a gun in another state. Federal law
requires firearm dealers to abide by the laws of the
state where the buyer lives. So if you lived in
Colorado and you go, Okay, well I'll just go to
another state and buy, it doesn't matter. It's going to
follow you because the law in Colorado since you reside
in Colorado. But this is the whole thing, and I
(12:28):
didn't I sprung this on you, And I apologize there
because I wondered if maybe you had seen this by chance.
And it doesn't surprise me. I guess technically you'll get
around to probably seeing this. But guess what, we don't
live in Colorado, so who cares?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Right, Yeah, And we try to cover a lot of
those stories because it's always kind of an insight into
what the far left is thinking about, what if they
had a choice of what they wanted to do to
gun rights and a lot of this stuffs. The irony
is it has absolutely zero effect of what happened on
the streets. And that's what everyone's you know, concerned about,
(13:03):
is the crime on the street. So they'll put these
things into place and then they'll turn around say, look, man,
it didn't have the impact that we thought we got
to do more, when in actuality, they're doing nothing to
affect the crime on the street. Put the back guys
behind bars, you know, stop plea bargaining down weapons under
disability charges. Let's get serious on that side. That's when
(13:23):
we'll start to see the effect in the streets.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yeah, the biggest thing with this is they require the training.
So you know, say somebody came in they would have
to then't go through training. That would I mean clearly
that's more money for you. But you guys would be
against that. You're like, look, that's unconstitutional to require that.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
That's not how that works, right.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Right, and that and that's kind of the whole premise
on the constitutional carry. I mean, that's where we struggled.
I mean, we are big advocates for training, but the
Second Amendment doesn't say you can carry a gun or
own a gun only after you pay the government sixty
five dollars and go do training. So that's where the
constitutional carry is is so important.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Yeah, exactly that.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
He is host of Ontarget, he's owner of LVPD Firearms
and Range. Eric Tilbert, very insightful. Love when you come on, brother,

to get that playoff slot and they didn't do.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
It so it's still up. Correct they have.
Speaker 5 (21:19):

The Carolina hurricanes coming to. Town, look there's a lot
of stuff that's still they, happened and it's probably not.

A giant meaty or hits. Venus i'm just.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Kind of laying it out for. You then The jackets
will have The islanders after. That look as far as
everything that has to, Happen montreal's gotta lose, Twice we've
got to win. Twice that's kind of how this, goes
and so there's no other way around. IT i just
hate that we are in this. Spot but, boy The
jackets are on fire right now and they're doing what
(22:41):
they need to do in order to try to get
out of. This But montreal's got to cooperate and they
are looking for the to get that spot, too to
get into the. Playoffs so they're gonna Be they're gonna
give it all they got.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Tonight so Go chicago after.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
That seven seven nothing, Win, man it's hard to stop
that kind of. Adrenaline let's wish them the. Best, yeah
(23:22):
you know.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Something else that was really cool about.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Going through The Blue jackets, hole you know the yeah
those areas that the player areas and going into the
locker room because when we walked in, THERE i gotta tell,
YOU i thought it was going to you, know smell
like basically a charm or like something, awful and it.
Wasn't and the guy specifically, said, well what they do
(23:50):
is they treat this. Room they run it up to
LIKE i want to, say he, said one hundred and thirty,
degrees and it's treated with stuff that is kills. Bacteria
because think about their equipment and stuff and how much
sweat and all. That it's just same with, football you,
know football locker. Rooms and we went to The, steelers you,
know In. December stone AND i did Last, december and
(24:13):
it was it was, Fine like you didn't go in
there and, go oh.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
LORD i Get i'm gonna get out of. HERE i
can't breathe While i'm in, here you know kind of.
THING i imagine there's some guys. Too they aren't going.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
To talk about, it most likely, publicly but have their
little traditions LIKE i NEVER i never washed my my
game socks or.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Whatever so that could be a little. Pungent maybe you,
KNOW i haven't heard, that but you would think that
would get. Out, yeah, WELL i mean that kind of.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
STAFF i MEAN i wear When i'm watching AN osu home,
Game i'm wearing MY osu.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Slippers, yeah you, know it's just the. Thing, yeah we
all get into.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
That, yeah oh, yeah some sort of tradition or you
know that's your you're superstitious.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
About, yeah, absolutely there's all of.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
That, actually you know, what some of them probably won't
even talk about. It they might be, like, WELL i have,
some But i'm not going to tell.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
You, yeah that's What i'm. Saying they never say it.
Publicly they wouldn't let you.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Know they're.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
LITTLE i, MEAN i have to eat only green eminem's
before a game or. Something you never, know, right but
if it works for, Him god bless.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Them. Right so a.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Lot of people asking the, question what's happening with these
dangerous dogs and? All it seems like, we're what about
once a, week once every other, week we're having some
sort of horrible report that comes in, where for, instance you,
know just this year twenty twenty, five family dog kills
a seven month old girl On columbus's far south. SIDE
(25:32):
A North london resident fends off a couple of dogs
with a shovel after they attacked an eight year old,
boy which did cause severe. INJURIES a mother and son
sentenced to more than a decade in prison for the
fatled dog attack on their neighbor In Pickaway.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
County you also had one up And mary in WHICH
i last WEEK i found odd the people who owned
the dogs that attacked and killed a six month old
are facing. Charges went To jay owner facing, charges whereas
In columbus they said they don't they'll be filing. Charges
it's not THAT i want retribution against. Anybody it just
seems that's very unbalanced in the state Of ohio to
(26:06):
have two very similar cases and charges against one couple
and not against the other.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Pitbull the one And.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Marion, yeah that seems to be that kind of seems
to be the, culprit if you. Will he Is scotty
the dog trainer Cana i And.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Ponderusa.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Scotty i've Known scotty a while now And scotty friend
of the.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Show. Scotti thanks for joining us. Today. Brother how are.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
You i'm doing. Good how are you, Doing Mark?
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Flavor, yeah you, know uh doing. Okay.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Man i've had actually a really good day so, far
which entailed going down and seeing some behind the scenes
stuff with The Blue jackets earlier, today and so it's
been a really.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Good day for, me. Man and plus it's so nice.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Outside this is the day where you get your dogs,
out and you've got them out running Around i'm, sure
and exercising and doing their, thing and they're loving, IT i.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
Bet and cutting the. Grass they love. It when the
grass is, cut they can run like the.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Wind, yeah they're, like, hey thanks for carving up our
freshening up our bathroom for, Us.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Dad that's What estra, does, Like i'll.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Mo and then she loves it right after, that because,
well she's she's short to the. Ground so once the
the grass gets long, enough it's you, know it's uncomfortable
for her to. Squat it's going where it shouldn't be.
Going and so's she'll go on the. Malt she'll go
anywhere where there's not something sticking, up where the sun
don't shine and you, know kind of a.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Thing so Then i'll know and she's all.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Happy she go down on both beer legs go down
when she goes to the. Bathroom, yeah that, Always loopa
makes me laugh because she only puts.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Down the left leg is, down the right leg lifts. Up,
oh she.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Squats it's it's so unusual to see a dog with
just one. Leg scotti chucks got a lupa is A.
Chihuahua and how old she how she is.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Between eight and? Nine, now, yeah she's Always you wouldn't regret.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
It.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
MAN i love her as much AS i could ever
love any animal in my. House she's she's.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Wonderful so they are, MANY i know they always.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Do if somebody walks by with A yorkie and she's, like,
eh somebody goes by with A german Shepherd doberman, pitbulls
you need to put your little loop a butt in.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Neutral scotty worked with esther when we first got her
puppy what was it called puppy, puppy puppy, preschool that's.
It and you were like Little Mike tyson and you,
said get, ready, man she has have a five hundred
word vocabulary and she. Does, dude it's you you called.
IT i mean it's. So she's. So and she's gonna be,
(28:35):
three coming up In may now at time flies and
uh so yeah we WE i don't. Know we see
these sad stories about you, know what's, happening these dangerous
dogs and so, on and give us your take on,
this because it seems like pit bulls or are always
the culprit in These as a matter of, fact AS
i looked up some of this, Stuff, scotty what breeds
(28:55):
are types of dogs bite the? Most that's in this
article THAT i was, reading and this is About. Ohio
some bite reports contained specifics like the dog's, name the,
breed the. ADDRESS a lot of reports fail to give those,
details but often dogs are listed on the reports as
mixed or pit bull. Like and this is eighty five
(29:15):
different public health agencies here In ohio that that they've
collected this data.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
From but what are your?
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Thoughts and because you worked With Caesar, MILAN i, mean
you've you've been around the block, Man you've been doing.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
This a million.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Years but, yes, sir what is your? Take is it
a specific, breed is it the? Owner is it THE
i mean there's a? MIX i, mean what are.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Your thoughts on?
Speaker 5 (29:35):
This, well first of, all there are good pit bull
owners out, There BUT i think what happens, is especially
during the uptick right, now that's happening AND i kind
of predicted it is because of the. Pandemic there was
a wave of adoptions that cleared out all the kennels
and there are literally millions of new dog, owners which
(29:55):
is so. Cool but, however there are the lockdown a
lot of the dogs when not getting, socialized and you
just want to jump right into. It here we're talking
about powerprol breed dogs moulling and killing children and adults
weekly in our. Country LIKE i, said, yes it is an,
uptick but it's always been happening for as long AS
i can. Remember and the perfect scenario as far As i'm,
(30:18):
concerned What i've been seeing, is you, know a backyard
breeder or a poorly bred. Dog it can even be
a good, breeder because it's all about when the dog
is taken from the litter and what they lose that
dog bite inhibition or the ability to control their dog bite.
Pressure so they're playing with their litter mats and they
have these razor sharp teeth and they nip at the
other puppy and the puppy will, yelp and that's nature
(30:40):
teaching dog bite inhibition or the, puppy, hey don't bite so,
hard you, Know and then they go through life understanding.
That and a lot of these dogs are taken from
the litter too, early so they don't know how to do,
that and they'll, bite latch and rip and tear and
so like an example is up he's playing with another,
puppy and you know the. Yelp but the whole thing
(31:06):
is there's no leadership and the dogs are in the
backyard and nobody's doing anything with, them and they're exhibiting predatory.
Behavior Little johnny shows, up the dog barks a Little.
Johnny Little johnny. Leaves now the dog has predatory you
know behavior, there and then the mailman. Comes the dog
barks at the. Mailman the mailman. Leaves now the dog's
(31:28):
building his predatory prey. Drive and so then what happens
is the dog gets out of the backyard and now
he's on the, hunt you, know and the ultimate mauling.
ADVENTURE i guess you could say super pent up predatory.
Frustration well then.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
THEN i, mean there's no way to get around what
you're talking about unless there you keep them with the,
pack if you, will and.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Then they maybe that yelp and all that keeps all
of that at.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Bay but if they're you, know that predatory thing that
you're talking about that develops feels like it's going to
develop if you only have one. Dog hell even if
you have you, know two, dogs that it's going to
unfortunately build and you get a, dog for, INSTANCE i
you know the type of dog that you, know people, say,
well pit. BULLS i, mean the number one THING i
(32:16):
hear from pit bull owners, is.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Oh they're a big, baby they wouldn't hurt.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Anybody and next thing you, know you, know they're eating,
somebody or they eat some, kid or they do something.
Horrible and if it's if death isn't the, result it's
usually a mating or something along those, lines and everybody
goes they get a bad. Rap and certainly like a
dog Like esther Or Jack russell is. Capable she has
incredible bite, pressure but she's not attacking. People the only
(32:44):
thing she tries to get are squirrels and rabbits and
that's the INNER. Dna but she just licks everybody to.
Death she's incredibly. FRIENDLY i just don't know that by and,
large pit bulls do. That it's it's maybe it's something
that comes from the person they're running toward that like
kicks in with, them and that person they, say you,
(33:05):
know they know dogs know if you're afraid or, whatever
and so maybe that's what triggers something in. Them but
it just seems like you never hear of A Jack
russell or at, chihuahua you, know resulting in death or
somebody losing a limb or something over.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
It you, know and you know you can block things like.
That you. KNOW i was jogging at The Allen Creek
State park many years ago and a big black pit
bull can flying up on. Me AND i, knew Because
i'm certifying police knine Write control Personal, PROTECTION i knew
to freeze and he came in lowly ground and then
he trotted. OFF i was, like what the? Heck but you,
(33:39):
know you can't stop the dog from attacking. YOU a
lot of times people squeal and then they wiggle around
and now they're the. Prey they're acting like a. Rabbit
so it kicks in the mollie and you never want
to fall down on the. Ground whenever one of these
dogs is attacking, you you can literally block them with the,
clipboard your ball, cap rip your shirt, off take your jacket,
off put it between you and the. Dog so, yeah
(34:00):
this has really bothered me for a long time because
there's really nobody standing up and. Protecting can you imagine
a child or a grandmother getting attacked and dying like This,
Mark it's got to be one of the worst ways to.
Die they're literally getting eaten to. Death it's just.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Terrible, yeah, well you, know the pushback against banning a
pit bull would just be. Amazing but from what it
sounds like you're talking about the weaning, time keeping the
dogs with mother and siblings and so forth in the,
litter would it make, sense be more, practical maybe more
plausible If ohio started looking at maybe you, know no
adoption or sale of pit bull puppies until they have
(34:37):
reached you, know ten weeks or, something so that maybe
they're more.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Acclimated you're, right there needs to be something. Done what it,
IS i don't. Know as, citizens we need to do,
something come together and figure that. Out, again it's not
always pit. Bulls we'd like to say powerful breed, dunks
but the pit bulls are like. Gladiators if you've ever
seen one go into the you, know the kill, mode
it's pretty. Frightening the one police, officer bless his, heart
(35:02):
he came out because of the pitbull killed somebody and
he came out and the pit bull came after. Him
he just got out of his vehicle and he had
to shoot, it and he was shooting, it that thing
was still coming after. Him so they're extremely wonderful dogs
if they're if they're raised, correctly they're very.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
STOIC i can't it is crazy to think this guy's
shooting this dog and it's still coming at clearly anything vital.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Enough but that.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
When you get that one, crazy no matter what creature you,
are that kind of adrenaline, FLOW i can imagine it
takes a lot to put him. Down AND i, this you,
know maybe it's just, folklore BUT i had heard for
so long that a lot of these pit bull puppies
are insane because of all the, inbreeding breeders wanting to
get him out there as quickly as. Possible so you
got brothers and sisters genetically making new puppies and so,
(35:51):
forth and after a few generations of, that you got
brain damage killing machines out.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
HERE i think that's the. Reason scotty, Too.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
Yeah it can. Be, yeah, Absolutely and then you, know
like a backyard reader and, hey come on, Over, johnny
And i'll give you one of my pit bull puppies
of two, weeks three, weeks and now they missed that
crucial time in their life where they learned dog bite.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Inhibition, yeah, yeah it's.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Interesting somebody as educated as you are with. THIS i,
mean it's like breathing for. You with, dogs they respond to,
you they feel. IT i witnessed it and out At
Canine ponderosa where you're at and where you're set, UP
i witnessed. It and if you're, going, MAN i don't
know exactly what we do, here. GOSH i mean if
somebody owns if you have a pit bull and it
(36:38):
kills like your child or, WHATEVER i don't understand how
you could not be held responsible for.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
That you are.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Responded it's no different than if you have a gun
and they ended up shooting themselves and killing, themselves except.
Worse probably the way to go as far as if
a pit bull takes out a kid or what have.
You the people absolutely who own those dogs they have
to be culpable in this. SITUATION i don't care what
the circumstance or. ANYTHING i just feel like.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
They need to be.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Culpable and it doesn't bring the kid, Back but that's
something it seems like people are absent on thinking about
if they own those type breeds when they have little.
Speaker 5 (37:15):
Ones, yeah there absolutely needs to be something. Done and you,
know there are some dog trainers that are proclaiming they
rehab the, dog and you, know if a dog, bites
latches on and rifts and, Tears i'm no longer going
to train a dog like that. NOW i used, to
But i've learned that you cannot train the dog that
out of a. Dog, however there are dog trainers that, say, oh,
(37:36):
yes you. Can't, well no you can't because they will
always have. That and you, know you can make them
a good. Dog you can train them and manage, them
but if Little johnny corners, them they're going to resort back.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
To that like that will never go. Away they're always
going to react that way once they begin.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
Correct, well you can never say, never but more than
likely that will never go. Away AND i just said,
never but, yeah because you know it's on their hard
drive and they know they got. That and, though like,
example Dog tayner, says, oh rehab the, dog and the
dog is, great and then you know they go home
and he gets put in a stressful situation and it, goes,
(38:14):
well you, Know i've tried EVERYTHING i tried to warn,
you and you're still coming at, me So i'm gonna
go ahead and bite. You, however what's happening here is
these dogs are going on the hunt and they're being
almost like the perfect. Scenario they're in the backyard and
they're running round the backyard and predatory. Behavior they're not
in the backyard playing and chilling out and having. Fun
(38:34):
and it's almost odd BECAUSE i can like spot, it you,
KNOW i can tell this dog that. Dog but, again
there are unbelievably, beautiful wonderful pit bulls out there and
responsible pit bull. OWNERS i JUST i think it's almost
fifty to. Fifty and, Unfortunately mark And. Chuck in my,
world a powerful breed dog is guilty until proven.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Innocent, yeah it seems to be the. Case he's.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Owner At Canine, Ponderosa scotty the dog. Trainer of, course
you can look him. Up IT'S k NINE k and
then dash and the numeral Nine Canine.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
PONDEROSA i think, correct that's THE k and then.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Yeah, okay, yeah beyond, it people can contact you that
way for further information and of course to enlist your
services and so.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
On you're so.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Booked you you've done work With marshall and with me

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Us, now marshall do tell why we stay. Weather.
Speaker 7 (40:03):
Aware here some very heavy rain and some thunderstorms just
South of columbus, right Now from circleville all the way Down.
To portsmouth there are some thunderstorm warnings along. This Line
piked In and waverley getting some downpours, right now some very, heavy, rain,
lightning thunder. Gusty winds its boeing a, little bit which
means it's got a little bit of its own sort
(40:25):
of mini front, to it and so that's plowing through
Parts Of. Pike county more of that on the Way
into Lucasville. And portsmouth circleville Down, to chilicothee you've got
some moderate rain happening there and some light Rain. Across
columbus there is A severe thunderstorm watch that lasts until
eleven o'clock tonight for a lot of southern And. Southeastern
ohio some of the storms have the potential to generate
(40:47):
some very, heavy rain some on and off, large hail
could get some gusty winds out, of that as well
as the potential for an. Isolated tornado so that's why
we're gonna stay weather. Aware tonight i'll come to an
end by nine ten. O'clock tonight it's gonna last even less.
Than That, in columbus the City, itself tuesday some scattered showers,
(41:09):
are possible otherwise mostly cloudy and a cool fifty two Sunshine.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
Now, You Know, ALEX Stone abc news is joining. Us

Speaker 2 (41:25):
All alex hope you had so were you actually off
last week or?
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Was, it yeah we had the content.
Speaker 8 (41:31):
Spring break we were we WERE in Dc and Gettysburg
And new york and we're.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Roaming around, OH.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
Well i, miss.
Speaker 8 (41:38):
YOU guys I mean i didn't miss you, at all but,
yet no OF course i.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Miss, you now you DIDN'T miss i mean we equal
work on. This level so you didn't miss, that ever,
but physically like the, actual people you may have, thought,
LIKE yeah i. Don't know it's just one of those
THINGS like i, never know because sometimes you may or
may not, be off but you're, just not, you know
doing any of the stuff that they're offering for the day, or.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
Yeah or so today he's double fisted with stuff.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
To do so, well, Yeah okay well that just means
you have one in, each hand is what yeh.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Came?
Speaker 3 (42:18):
Through wrong what do you mean you guys said a. Gutter,
Mine man i'm just talking about the guy coming in with.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Both.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
THIS yeah i know that, you, are yeah covering a couple,
of THINGS but i wanted to find out because you
are like. MISTER earthquake i mean AND and i, say
that and you're, probably, going well wait, a MINUTE but
i don't really know anybody Else, In california so, to
me you're you, know that but five point two Magnitude.
(42:46):
Southern california that That's pretty is that a?
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Decent size decent.
Speaker 8 (42:50):
Size quake definitely has it triggered all the earthquake Alerts
today and we didn't end up feeling It In la
they definitely Did In. SAN diego i was Talking To
san diego police utenant who he was all shaken up
right after, it hit and they it was pretty Violent In,
san diego and they didn't know at, the time but
that we now know that there's no. Major damage there
(43:11):
was like a liquor store in the Town of julian
where the, epicenter was where all the bottles fell on
the floor and some rocks came down, on roads but.
Nothing major but it did alert and we definitely. Got
it there's now video that's AIRING on tv affiliates all
over the place of us jumping under our desks from
an earthquake camera that we've got in.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
The newsroom a.
Speaker 8 (43:30):
LITTLE embarrassing i was actually, the slow bad child getting
yelled at to get under, my DESK and i was,
very SLOW and i Look like, i'm pouting AND then i.
Get under but then we never felt, Any shaking so,
YOU know, i mean there's almost this question now of
what's better to have, that warning where the argument is
you could take action and save. Your life, you know
(43:51):
surgeons can, stop surgery trains can. Slow down but you
got the other part of it that you're sitting there
and you've been warned in like ten or twenty seve
so your life, may end, you know and you're waiting
and you're waiting and, nothing comes and, nothing comes and in,
our case and we didn't end up. Feeling anything, but
yeah because earthquakes are like throwing a rock into a
(44:11):
lake and then ripples going out that if you're right at,
the epicenter you're not gonna get. Any warning but when
it reads, the earthquake it can immediately calculate where those
waves are going, to go and then you'll get a
little bit. Of warning and if you're far enough away from,
the epicenter you can get twenty thirty seconds. Of warning
and the app the new system that comes in like an,
amber alert but the app will tell you in twenty
(44:33):
seconds heavy shaking, is coming and so you know you've
got twenty seconds to get under something and. Get READY
but i know at home now with our kids that
it's happened a couple of times and then we don't,
feel anything and it triggers because it thinks you're going
to feel something but, you didn't and it almost freaks them.
Out more, you know you're almost like should have just
had a quake and not known. About it then to
get twenty seconds of warning and you everybody braces and
(44:54):
holds on and then there's, nothing there, and yeah the
kind of damage.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Is done i've never heard OF the, i mean never
even thought about really earthquakes traveling like it Starts In,
san diego does it Go nor i'd.
Speaker 8 (45:05):
NEVER get, i mean just like a throwing a rock
into a lake and you've got where it hits into
the water.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
And then it. Grows.
Speaker 8 (45:11):
There, Yeah yeah tijuana they evacuated a bunch of their
buildings today and that everybody's okay down there, as well
Because that tijuana is just on the other side. Of
it it's essentially Part Of. San diego you go Right
From san diego across the Border into tijuana with except for,
a wall a little bit of separation between. The two,
and yeah and that now there's, the question was this
(45:33):
a four shock. Something bigger we talked to, A Seismologist.
Elizabeth cochrane, she, says well there's always a chance this
was a four shock to something bigger that's, coming soon
and that's. Fairly typical anytime we have, an earthquake we
have about a five to ten chance.
Speaker 5 (45:47):
Of a larger.
Speaker 8 (45:48):
Of them so it's not a, huge deal like five to,
ten percent but that this may have been a. Four
shock there was a four shock, earlier today a three,
point one which that one is kind, of, like well people,
felt it but it was no. Big deal they didn't
know at the time that way a four shock to
something bigger that was coming mid. Morning today so, we'll
wait we'll see what goes. On tonight but luckily everybody's doing.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
All right no. MAJOR damage a couple.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Of observations one and it's a damn shame that liquor
was falling on the FLOOR probably.
Speaker 8 (46:14):
I, know right just. Shattering, everywhere yeah it wasn't the.
Speaker 2 (46:18):
High end, so well you're just hoping that that McCall
and eighteen stayed, up somehow, some way did not smell it.
Speaker 8 (46:23):
Out of the expensive stuff, behind glass, BECAUSE well i
guess that wouldn't help in an, earthquake either behind something
plastic that isn't going.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
To, shatter.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Yeah exactly and the other thing was that warning system
that you're, Talking about like you don't have something specifically
in your home that's dedicated for like something on the wall, or.
Speaker 8 (46:42):
No it's on, your phone kind of like an. Amber,
alert okay so it makes the amber, alert sound you know,
that sound and you look and it, as. Earthquake earthquake
there's also some apps out there that will actually say
that that you're sitting there and it, goes earthquake duck,
and cover, take, cover earthquake duck and. COVER take i
mean it scares the you know what out, of you
and you look at it, and go, oh man here.
(47:02):
It comes and you wait and quite often you do
feel least a, little something if not a major. Or
something and then sometimes the waves don't get, to you
don't reach all the way, to you and you don't.
Feel anything, but man you are sitting there, totally tight,
you know, muscles tight waiting for everything to.
Speaker 1 (47:20):
Begin shaking having that as a ring tone is. Not, Funny, there,
no no you don't want to.
Speaker 5 (47:23):
Do.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
THAT now i can't help but, wonder too maybe with
your interviews that you conduct on. This story we've got
what is it on, A wahu we've got lava spouting
for the past, few days and there was somewhere. Else
where we've got mile high columns of smoke coming out
of a, volcanic activity and then we HAVE this i
just my, gut wonders is all this stuff somewhere in
the middle of the. Earth related, you know it's all
(47:45):
to make.
Speaker 8 (47:45):
You wonder all the geologists and seismologists have told us
no and that it's all. Just random this was on
part Of The san andreas. Fault system, you know there's
tons of different. Fault systems this was on the one
we All Know san andreas and a famous one where
they've made so many. Move it but they say it's,
totally random, and yeah this one won't be connected to
the one that happens a month from now or the one.
(48:06):
After that but but you do have to wonder if
somewhere beyond what we understand and what, we know if
there's there's something. Going, on Well If.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Christopher reeves were, still alive we get have them, fly backwards,
you know really quickly and reverse the every care.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
Of, it yeah With The, san andreas.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
He had one weak moment where he broke the rules
and you have to bring it up on.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
The, radio hey do they?
Speaker 2 (48:28):
One QUICKLY because i know we've got to cutch A
loose but do They In? San diego is are they
used to him there or do you get? Them more
would you Say in la or is it just kind?
Speaker 1 (48:37):
Of random also.
Speaker 8 (48:38):
The, SAME yeah i mean, every yeah maybe every, six
months you'll feel a little, tiny one and then you'll
go years where you don't, feel one and then you'll
get a. SIZEABLE one, i mean it's just. Totally random
but IT'S been i, don't know probably a year since
the last time. We felt but they were. ALWAYS little
i think we've talked about him on. The air, you
know they've Always been they've, always been for the, most part.
Pretty little but then every now and then you get a.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
Big One, ALEC, Stone, abc BOY have i heard that?
Speaker 1 (49:01):
One before you? Said, there yeah every once in a
while you get a. Big. One, Alex, yeah alex thank you.
VERY much i appreciate to.
Speaker 3 (49:09):
See you you never felt an Earthquake In central ohio
because we've had, LIKE four i think in, my lifetime.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
Not In, central ohio But when JENNY and i Were In,
los cabos we were Just in mexico last Year, in
september there was one in that ended up, getting there
and IT was i felt It and jenny, felt IT
and i was trying to like make it, to where,
you KNOW like i was going to talk about it
on the air when it, was, like yeah we were
getting it ON and i, Was like, she's like did
(49:36):
you feel? That Earthquake and, i'm, like yeah of course, you,
did honey you know. And all but there was like
no way to make a joke, about IT because i,
was like it, really happened and something had happened somewhere
near because we're In The baja. Peninsula There los, Cobos,
is oh It's basically, california southern like far, far southern,
You know and there was, one There but i've never felt.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
One here but that was the first time in we
had ONE when i, WAS like i, don't know nine
or ten, years OLD and i did not feel it.
AT all i was in. THE backyard i just Remember
hearing mom in the house a lot when the things,
started shaking and she's told stories for weeks about how
the glasses were all shaken in the china cabinet and all.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
THAT stuff i feel the earth move under. My Feet
carol king just called, and said stop that
