Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's deeper in the din with dangerous d well. On
a new poll, sixty one percent of Americans say being
frugal has become cool, which is convenient because nobody can
afford anything anymore. But it doesn't mean we won't buy
anything just because it's on sale. People recently asked the Internet,
what's something you would never buy even if it was

(00:21):
discounted ninety nine point nine to nine percent. Some of
the best responses included that nasty fabric toilet seed cover,
that Grandma used to have a get rich quick course
from a twenty something on TikTok, a live rhino, gas stations,
sushi meth other things people would never buy even if
it was discounted ninety nine point nine to nine percent.

(00:41):
Ivory tusks used underwear you an NFT premium level on
social media service, a trip down to or see the
Titanic a boat because there's too much maintenance and monthly costs.
Not one I would disagree with, black licorice. That one
I would disagree with too, only fans subscription crocs and
sugar free gummy bears in the two. Well, you know,

(01:04):
there's good news and there's bad news. Researchers claim they
figured out the secret to having a great day, but
it involves math, kind of. I was told there wasn't
going to be any math. In a study, researchers analyzed
how thousands of people spent their time across more than
one hundred activities compared to how people rated their day.
They looked for patterns on days and rated better than usual.

(01:24):
They came up with this scientific formula. It looks like
this BDE equals fam six fr two plus SoC one
point five plus ex two plus eat one minus work
six TV one CMT point zero two five. So, in
other words, in normal terms, the best day ever equals

(01:46):
six hours with family, two hours with friends plus one
point five hours of extra socializing, two hours of exercise
plus one hour of eating and drinking, less than six
hours of work, indulging in only one hour of screen time,
and no more than a fifteen minute commute. Basically be
fit fun and available and some relaxation and indulgence in

(02:07):
somehow avoiding work or commuting too much. Now, somebody tried
to do this, and they found out you don't need
to hit every mark to feel better. You just need
some to make intentional tweaks, cut back on social media,
get outside for light exercise, make an effort to hang
out with people you love, and close your laptop when
you're done with work, not when your nervous system collapses.

(02:27):
They also added it's choosing presence over productivity and connection
over convenience. That's all well and good, but when you
didn't work enough and you lost your job, it's not
going to be convenient when you can't afford your house anymore.
To me, they can for another episode of Deeper in
the Den with Dangerous daved right here.
