Speaker 1 (00:02):
From the theme park Capital of the World, Orlando, Florida.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
This is the Theme Park Podcast. Wait podcast?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Is this all radio? Why does everything gotta be so
messy on this station? Anyway, here's your hosts, Dickerman, Jimmy
d and Scott Harris were.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
There and welcome to the Theme Park Podcast. Dickerman. Here
there is Scott Harris. Hi, Hello, greetings, and Jimmy remains
in Japan.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I don't know if we need to stay well.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I also don't know if we talked about it on
the show. Jimmy is in Japan.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yes, Jimmy is in Japan enjoying all things Japan. We've
seen the photos all across social media. He is apparently
enjoying himself.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Oh it's Star Wars celebration now.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
That's right, that's what he's doing right now. Yeah. That
was the whole reason he got Lauren to agree to
the trip to Japan was so he could go to
Star Wars celebration. Then he sprinkled in some things for her, which.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Is very kind m m fair trade.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yes, yeah, so I'm sure when he gets back he'll
be back on the show next week. You'll have all
the tales to tell, including uh, staying at the Godzilla Hotel.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Unless he gets eaten my Godzilla, which is entirely possible.
I've seen those movies that could be.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
I mean, you never know what's gonna happen or what's
what's the Road and raid and.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Well there's road and there's King Giadora.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
What's the Mathra MATHRAA could show up Mathra. I've got
a lot of problems in Japan. I've got a lot
a lot happening there.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well, if you watch like destroy all Monsters, it's like
all of them.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, it's great as great as
long as there's not a monster attack.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Well as I as I've told you, I went to
what you call the snooty theater, yes, last year, the
Enzon and Window where the Florida Film festivals going on
right now. Christina Ricci was just there this past weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
What I love Christina Ricci.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
It was the anniversary of now and then Okay, but
they did last year they did Godzilla Birthday thing like
every other week.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I do want to see the I don't know if
it's coming gone yet. The one about the theme park
stuff they could stolen. That was last that one stolen Kingdom.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
That was last week. That was last week. Every showing
was sold out. No, I couldn't I to work.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Did they sell it out at the Regal two? Yes?
Oh boy? Okay, all right, I guess you shoot a
buck tickets early for that one.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I told you, I told you all of this, you
know me.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
I wait for it to come on streaming now.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
They're doing a Val Kilmer thing over the next in
a few weeks, okay, and I will be seeing heat there.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
So right, Yeah, I do like that. I do like that.
They do fun stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah, I mean it's snooty, but it's cool for sad reasons.
But yes, like they're doing Gene Hackman. So they did
David Lynch support local theaters short all your theaters honestly.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Yeah. So we talked about Monsters. People can go see
Monsters now if you're quick at the at the ready,
if you're a Universal passholder, because previews are officially open
for Epic Universe. This means it's not just friends and family,
it's not just VIPs. Literally, anyone that's a pass holder
(03:21):
could have gotten a ticket to go out and experience it.
And was today the first.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Day today as of recording no, we should say today,
as of recording, every single person besides me, you and
Jimmy has been to Epic Universe.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I don't think there's a person that I'm friends with
on Facebook that has not been except for me. Yeah,
I have a friend that met a girl at jury duty,
just a random meat at jury duty. She got taken
to Epic Universe.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Remember years ago when during COVID and they did the
Horrorites that was really just two houses, but they did
it during the day, and then for Halloween weekend they
did the Beatlejuice House. Yes, and it was like very
select who could do it? And I told you, I
(04:19):
just waited around outside of the area and they were like, hey,
do you want to go do this? Is that what
people are doing? I'm not condoning. I'm not saying that
people should do that, but like, are they just driving by?
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Maybe like you don't have you work there and you
don't have a friend. You see some guy hanging, Hey,
you want to come? I don't have any friends to bring.
I don't like people, but you can come if you want.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Well, the thing is like there has been, uh, because
I've seen this that there have been some team members
that have been fired for like or discipline for before
it was allowed taking pictures, oh yeah, posting on social media.
Because the first initial previews were nothing. You could not
take any pictures or anything. And it was very much like,
don't talk about your experiences unless they're officially because they
(05:04):
have picture like photographers for like you like at the
at the outside of outside of each portal and stuff
like that. But now you can, like you have like
free rein. But there were like team members that were
like stealing things, uh like merchandise and stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, your own employees are stealing stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah that's bad, that's very bad.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
But now yeah, annual pass holders can go to as
of recording. As I said, and I'm looking at the weights.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Okay, all right, let's see.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
I will say Ministry, the Battle of the Ministry. The
Harry Potter ride has a virtual cue.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Okay. I saw some pictures of just the outside of it.
It looks amazing, Yeah, just incredible. I mean, they never
they never miss a beat when they do a Harry
Potter section. It looks like this is maybe the best
one yet.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Absolutely, and it's weird right now. Initially, earlier in the week,
it was like a couple of times that the virtual
queue would open. Now it's kind of just like you
gotta pay attention to your phone for when they open
it up. Well, this this was this was the last
ride to open for previews.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Yeah, so they're very much controlling the demand of it.
The Carouseale ten minutes, The Curse of the Werewolf ten minutes,
Dragon Racers Rally ten minutes. That's the how to train
your Dragon roller coaster. Okay, fire Drill, which is like
the water boat ride five minutes, Hippogriff Wing Gliders ten minutes,
(06:39):
Mario Kart Bowser's Challenge twenty five minutes. That's great, Mine
Cart Madness, The Donkey Kong Ride, Yes please, twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
What's going on? Can we go? Monc outside the Gate?
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Monsters unchained? The Frankenstein Experiment fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
It's supposed to be an awesome ride.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Uh, Stardust Racers twenty minutes, Oh my gosh. And Yoshi's
Adventure ten minutes. Well, I think what they're doing is
they're they're My guess is what's happening it? Well, a
it's later in the day as a recording it Sin's
seven o'clock at.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Night, so on Thursday, Yeah, Thursday night, seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
But when I looked earlier, I think the most I
saw was like a forty five minute wait.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Okay, jeez, yeah, I mean if you got the opportunity now,
you can't get these tickets right now. They're so out
anytime soon.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
No, these are sold These are sold out, So like
later on in the period, you can't. When I got mine,
I'm going May fourth because my thought process was a
the first few days were already sold out. But it's
like if I wait a little bit closer to opening,
like I'm like two weeks away from the grand opening,
(07:53):
maybe there's a chance of more things being opened. They've
worked out kinks on some rides, stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Can you buy more tickets as a passholder? Can you
bring your non pass holder friends? No? Thank it than
all right there it goes that.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, trust me, it's uh we'll talk about it offline.
Uh my saga with.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
That, you've probably got people mad at you now, because
like we're mad at our own friends, Derek, Tom Leah.
That didn't bring us, So yeah, you probably got people
are hey, what did you bring me? Scott? Oh?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
I would absolutely if I could if I could have,
I absolutely would have gotten least like you and Jimmy
a ticket if if I could have. But it's just, yeah,
I don't paid for it, that's exactly. Yeah, And it's
I will say, it's comparable to what I paid for
my ticket in June.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
But my guess is what's happening is they're controlling the crowd.
They don't want they want these previous to be enjoyable experiences.
They don't want it to be When we went and
did Galaxy's Edge and Rise of the Resistance.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
It was, Yeah, it was a scene for sure.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
No, I'm sure opening day will have a bigger crowd,
and I'm sure they're over these next few like basically
the next month, they'll be gradually increasing the amount of
people that are going, just just you know, staffing, making
sure they's works exactly. And also I believe Grand Helios,
the big hotel, is also just opened for uh patrons.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Oh okay, I want to go check that out.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
It's a little bit I believe it's a little bit
cheaper right now, but once that, once it gets later
on in the month and leading up to the grand opening,
it will be expensive. It is there. It is their
signature hotel.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be that's that's gonna be
an amazing spot too. I can't I can't imagine like
going up there. Do you know how late they're staying
open right now? Are they open to Like it's a
little after seven as we record this, it's like eight o'clock.
Is at nine o'clock?
Speaker 2 (09:52):
It is unclear, it's it does not say in the.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Appciously, Hey, you know what, you guys will close whenever
we're gonna close, all right, so you know when we
tell you to leave, get out.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Well, the thing is they've been testing a nighttime show. Okay,
So my guess is eventually it'll be nine or ten
when it gets into the summer periods.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
My favorite time to go.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
But it's very much a kind of a floating thing.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Okay. Yeah. So if you've been, which I assume everybody
listening right now has been, because everybody in Orlando and
central Florida has been besides us, I hope you enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Yes, absolutely, And I could say, don't brag to us
too much.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
I don't mind. I don't mind the bragging, you know,
And I'm not I'm not gonna feel bad, you know.
Good for you, guys, Good for you. They got to go.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
They have said, though, if you're an annual pass holder
Express after four, if you have it with your pass
it does not seem like that will work for you.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Yeah, that's that makes sense. You're not gonna get anything
with something like this. You're not gonna get anything special.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
You can you can buy it.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Oh yeah, you can buy it. And we discussed those prices.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Which I'm considering.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Oh well, I mean, if you're gonna go once.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Well, I mean it depends on what I can get
done on a pre on the preview.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I'm kind of treating the twenty
five minutes you're you're good.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
To go exactly. And I'm also kind of treading the
preview of like I just want to like experience these
kind of things.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Get all in. Yeah, the lands here, like you almost
have to just like take time and take it all in,
just because of the amount of work that has gone
into the thought that goes into these things, and the
intricate details of just the visuals, not even just the ride.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yeah. And it's like I will tell you once I
when when I'm gonna go I'm gonna find out what
time it opens and what I'm a close because I
want to maximize that time.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Yeah, be there, ready to go. Are you planning on
staying at the hotel on your preview or only in
the summer.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
When you can only in the summer?
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Okay, all right, so you're just gonna get up early
and be ready to go.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Yes, I mean i'my look.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Going to be four o'clock in the morning, early like
when we went to Galaxy's Edge and had to get
turned around, or a little later than that.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
No, I mean if it's nine am, if the park
opens at nine am, which I think it's either nine
or ten, it will be that.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Sure, please leave the property. What are you doing here?
Speaker 2 (12:17):
There's this very funny meme that uh that that circulates
on like film Twitter, where somebody like a preview came
out and somebody's like, I'm seated, I'm in the theater.
The movie doesn't come out until August. The ushers are
telling me to leave.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
That.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
That would be me. I would just go there right
now and wait.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
It's gonna wait, it's gonna wait it out and see
what happens. Well, it's exciting times, it's exciting times for
a full on new park opening first one in uh
certainly a long time here and certainly in certain people's lifetimes.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
The thing is, though, that you do get you will
be able to get discounts if you are an annual passolder.
They have said that is a thing. Okay, So there
are disc ounce on like foods and experiences and shopping.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
So I guess they don't have any real specials on
annual passes right now at Universal.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
I don't know. If I have a fifteen month Yeah,
certain times they'll give you extra months. They'll give you
some money out if you bring a coke can or
something stupid. Mm hmm, yeah, I don't on this one
bring a coke can with you.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I've done it. I did it before. I think, I.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Wait, I know it, just it seems like just such
a hassle. I got to bring the coke can, really,
I mean, I just not give the discount.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I think I walked like you know that in the
center of city walk they have that like coke stand
that also plays like music videos on top of it.
I think I bought a bottle of coke from there
as I walked to the ticket booth to get the discounts.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Like fifty bucks or something like that on that six
dollars coke.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Yeah, it was great, it was worth it. It was worth it.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Yeah, it's smart move. It's smart move. So that's what's
happening Universal. We know it's SeaWorld. They've got a new
ride coming soon. I mean we haven't seen the date
for that yet, but they said it's soon.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
You should know.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I know, I'm the SeaWorld guy, but they haven't actually
said a date. They've been kind of quiet about it.
It's like, hey, this ride's going to be here and
then and then you guys just get to ride it.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Go by the way, that's not all of the Universal stuff.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
There's more Universal stuff. Yes, I thought we covered all
the universalided.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
No no, no, no, you're forgetting about the universal UK experience.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Tell me about this because I genuinely have forgotten about
the UK experience.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
So they're building, they're building a well, they're expanding like everywhere.
They're doing you know, Epic Universe here, the Universal Horror
and Least, which is opening this year in Vegas.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Right, They've got the Rout attraction.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
There's the Smaller Kids resort in Texas that opens next.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Year, that's right. Yeah, but they're also this is the
first time, you know, step in the Texas market. Yes,
I think they're just getting their toe wet, just to
see how kind of how it goes.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Oh, I mean like there has been there. There used
to be a SeaWorld there. There's also been a six Flags.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
There is a SeaWorld not there anymore. I think it
was San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
I don't, I don't know. You're you're you're you're the
SeaWorld guy. You should know this.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Sorry, I should I should know more about SeaWorld since
I am the SeaWorld guy. But uh boy, I'm I'm
a failure at my my duties just knowing SeaWorld things.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Coming up on its thirty seventh anniversary. Okay, still going strong,
All right, there you go, still going strong.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
But I mean people in Texas, Hey, salt Water, what
the egg? As long you're not near.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
But in twenty projected twenty thirty one, okay, is the
Universal Universal Studios that they're opening in the United Kingdom.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Hey, it takes time. It takes time to build these things,
and you got to buy land and clear it and
all these stuff. But they finally released like an official
rendering okay of the park, and it's led to a
lot of speculation.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
What do we speculating here?
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Well, it looks like at one point there's a hill valley.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Okay, which is back to the future okay, all right, with.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
A possible roller coaster in that area.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Oh wow, Okay.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
They have also filed a trademark for Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Really, that's a smart one. That's another one of those
fandoms that people are crazy about.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Possibly Shrek.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
More Shrek okay, well, Shrek Land there.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
I mean there's a there's the DreamWorks land here, but
like a bigger one. And the other thing that is
speculated is a James Bond stunt show thing.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Well, that would be big over there. They love their
James Bond.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
But the thing that is not included in this right honor?
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yeah, why how how would you not have Harry Potter
unless it's a rights issue in the UK? Well, maybe
you got the rights in the US and you can't
do it in the UK.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Well, the prevailing thought has been you want to draw
people to you know, here California. You know they're opening
up a new Harry Potter thing at Epic Universe. There
are other Harry Potter's you don't want to have it everywhere,
and in London there is a Warner Brothers Harry Potter Experience. Okay,
so it's you know, maybe there was a conversation of hey,
(17:31):
don't steal from one to help the other kind of thing.
Because they are doing a Harry Potter TV show. There's
going to be renewed interest in this and they're already
is massive interested in general.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
You can always put it in their back pocket too,
so like you launch without it, but you know, five
years down the road, oh let's let's spike the attendance
again by opening up a Harry Potter Land exactly. Yeah, yeah,
they're thinking, they're thinking long term. It's the expansion is impressive.
Like we went from COVID going are these guys even
gonna survive? Are they even gonna do Epic Universe to
(18:04):
where we are now, which is just go, go go.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
They remember they paused construction on Epic Universe for months.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
We thought it was We thought, how this thing's dead,
the project's dead. They're going to give up on it there,
it's just it's not happening. The world came to a stop.
No Epic Universe. Yep, we were wrong.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
We were we were very wrong.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
The one time, first time we've ever been wrong on
this show was that time.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yes, we that is the we have never been wrong ever?
Speaker 3 (18:32):
That was it? Never again, yes, never again? Nope, that
was just the one time.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Over at Disney which last last weekend, Simple plan packed
Epic Epcott Epcot.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Did you go?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
No, I had to work, but I saw, I saw
pictures and it was a madhouse.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
I bet. Yeah, the most show at Epcot.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Why not exactly? Uh, they're bringing back the scuba diving experience.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
This is over in the seas, right, so that went
away for a while.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Yeah, it's been closed since October.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Oh okay. It's funny like we're getting real close to
everything being back to normal. Like a lot of things
got taken away during COVID never returned. But I feel
like as soon as we get rid of the reservation system,
it's back to the old days.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Yeah, and it's only Disney that has that.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Yeah, I know, so Disney, wake up, let's get rid
of it.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
It doesn't look like you can scuba dive though with manates.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Oh what are you swimming with?
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Like the regular fish turtles, reefish, sting, raisin, sharks.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
I don't want to swim with the sharks.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I know, I know, you'd rather swim with the with
the manatees, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Very much so, I don't want to swim sharks. We're
not allowed to touch the manatees here. You got to go
to Mexico if you want to touch the manches manatees.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
And you also have to be certified.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Oh well, forget that. That's too much work for me.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
You must be open water scuba certified to participate.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
And I snorkel? No, what if I just bring my
own snorkel?
Speaker 2 (20:12):
I think they will ask you to leave.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
M M. Probably so by a fair.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Speaking of Riisler Resistance.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Later, yes, yes, yes, uh.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Later on next month, to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of Disneyland,
they will be releasing povs of the Resistance on Disney Plus.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Oh it's an interesting release.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
When are we getting our extra scenes in the Millennium
Falcon Ride?
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Next next year? When we get the Mandalorian and Gurugu movie.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Oh, it's gonna take a while. Huh. Yes. They take
their time on everything over there, though. They plant it out,
They plot it out, and then you wait and then
it eventually comes.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
But you know, we've talked about this of who kind
of has the best thought process.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Because it's three different ones for our three main parks
in town. Disney they'll plod along, they'll get it in
three years. Universal they'll lie about it. They'll say, you
don't you don't know what's happening over here. There's nothing
going on on standing. They open up, Uh yeah, they
open up something. And SeaWorld's just like, oh yeah, hey,
by the way, we open or ride if you guys
want to come ride it. It's cool.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
We opened to ride last week. Did you get our email?
Speaker 3 (21:30):
It's the it's the it's new ride that's coming, Like
it's coming. It's coming real fast, but I have no ise.
It's gonna pop up and it's oh, here it is.
It's a ride at sea World.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Yeah, it's it's in. And I never can decide which
one has the right thought process.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
Who's the fastest? Is it Universal or SeaWorld? Jefly not
Disney Disney's, without a doubt the slowest.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
I think it's SeaWorld. I think they're the fastest.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Yeah, just crank it out, is get it going?
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah? I mean it, I don't So it depends on
what they're building. You know, with SeaWorld is just a
roller coaster with you know, lost a coaster that's a
roller coaster with like a massive queue. You've got animatronics
inside of the queue. There's a little bit more involved
than that.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Yeah, there is so much involved, that's true. Ye see
roll the Seaworll will crank him out. Seawell cranked out
that Penguin coaster. Uh, this new ride is going to
be a family ride. I'm looking forward to it, and
it should be, I guess. I think they said spring,
so I think that's in the next couple of months. Yeah,
they have to get it done well.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Pipeline was also like a very fast Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Pipeline came quick too. Yeah. Yeah, they all miss around
over there.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
I was listening to another a different podcast, Dare you Well.
They were talking about like Universal, Steven Spielberg, all of
these things, you know, pertinent to us. Uh, And they
were talking about the fact that we always talked about
when it comes to Steven Spielberg and Universal Studios.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
His jacket.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
No, he has like he has like a contract with
Universal Orlando. And they said, uh, he gets two percent
of the profits for the whole park in perpetuity.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Oh my gosh, that was a deal. Geez. Two percent
of profits in Oh my god. He's if he wasn't
rich enough before, he just has money. Just people back
a truck of money up to his house on a
weekly basis.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
I mean, remember when they first opened up Universal. It's like,
you know, on things he either made or produced. I mean,
you know, jaws et later on it was Back to
the Future, like those three things he was a part
of Men in Black he produced.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
I said, hey, what do we gotta do to get
you in, Stephen? Two percent of profits forever? That can't
be that much. Two percent. Sure, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
That's a good lawyer.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Right there is just the one park there is? Is
it all the parks? Is it just the one? Just
Universal Studios. I feel like it's just Universal Studio.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I mean it may just be whatever here, okay in Orlando.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
I feel like he should get a chunk of isolence.
I feel like it just should be you.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Know why he directed Jurassic Park.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Okay, well maybe he does. Maybe maybe that's maybe that's
the case. I don't know. We'll investigate that further. Maybe
we'll have Steven Spielberg on the show. Scott, We're just
