Anthology Church is a new church in Charles Town, WV for people who hope there’s more to their story. Each episode features hopeful, practical teaching and honest conversations about real life, all centered on the radical love of Jesus and the better way of living we find in Him. Our dream is to create a welcoming place to explore faith, find community, and follow Jesus together.
Recovering Recess is a four-week series about recovering the childlike trust, humility, tenderness, and joy that Jesus never asked us to outgrow.
Jesus says the kingdom of God must be received like a child—not earned through achievement or controlled through effort. In this message, we explore what it looks like to loosen our grip, trust God with what we cannot control, and live with nothing to prove and something to receive.
What you allow to shape your mind will eventually shape your life.

Jesus had a rhythm of getting away by Himself and getting into silence. If He did it we should pay attention to it too.

Jesus is not one spiritual option among many. He is the clearest revelation of God, the one who comes for us, gives His life for us, rises for us, and invites us into life with God.

God is not looking for impressive, polished, emotionally fluent people. He is a Father who knows what we are made of and runs toward people who come home.

Christian hope does not minimize pain or explain it away. Jesus enters our grief, and the gospel gives us a future strong enough to tell the truth about what hurts now.

The Bible is not asking us to check our brains at the door. It invites us to examine a trustworthy story that has been given to lead us to Jesus and train us for real life.

This sermon is for people who are still showing up, serving, parenting, working, and trying to follow Jesus, but joy feels thin.
They are not necessarily quitting. They may even look responsible, dependable, and useful. But underneath, they may be living like spiritual life is mostly duty, output, and responsibility.

Most people do not feel heroic. They feel tired, overlooked, scared, inconsistent, or stuck. This series shows how God works through ordinary people with ordinary struggles—and how the way of Jesus meets us in real life and starts to reshape us from the inside out.

Discipleship - following Jesus - is not “attend church more.” It is training your life to match the rhythms and teachings of Jesus.

Because Jesus rose, your story does not have to loop — it can move forward. The next chapter is built with small, brave, everyday choices.
One of the biggest hidden assumptions is that Christianity is basically behavior management for people trying to be good. Acts 2 lets you challenge that directly.
This message says: Jesus did not rise just to give better advice. He rose to give new life. The Spirit is not a weird church concept. It is God’s power at work in real people who cannot fix themselves.

A lot of people know what it is like to feel stuck without knowing why. They are not necessarily rebellious. They are just stalled, tired, numb, hesitant, or drifting.
Acts 1 gives you a strong way to say: the in-between season is not empty. Jesus is doing something in the waiting.

God’s faithfulness isn’t a feeling—it’s a track record, and Jesus is the proof.
