This is the place to hear sermons, discussions, and whatever else I want to talk about. Thank you for checking out the podcast.
The one constant in our lives is change. Once we learn to embrace it, we can thrive in any circumstance. This is the last message I gave at Turnaround Church; then, I operated in the gift of the prophetic for those in attendance.
God can give you direction in multiple ways. One of them is when the provision ends. The brook dried up for Elijah, and the manna ceased being provided for the children of Israel. We've got to learn when to persist and when to pivot.
The only place God commands a blessing is when we are in unity. The body of Christ is to be united in building the Kingdom. In this message, I announce the merger of Turnaround Church and Austin Alive Church.
The Holy Spirit has given us gifts. I like to call them the nine enablements or empowerments. They are not for us alone; they are for the benefit of everyone. We are to operate in them for the good of others. Listen to this last sermon in the series to hear their definitions and examples.
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended on the 120 in the upper room. He appeared on each one of them as tongues of fire. Those 120 were the O.G. Lit Christians. Listen as I define the gifts of power and give examples of them in operation.
We continue to get LIT! We are studying the gifts of the Holy Spirit. In this episode I will bring some difinition to each of these gifts and provide practical examples.
We haven't fully grasped the meaning of the Spirit being poured out on the day of Pentecost. It is more than feeling good on Sunday. In this first sermon of the sermon series about the gifts of the Holy Spirit called LIT, we learn the reason God launched the church on the day of Pentecost.
The Old Testament prophet named Haggai had an issue with those that had returned from exile. It seems they were too busy building their own houses that they didn't have time to build a house for God. Listen to this message that applies the same principle to us today except we are talking about brick and mortar.

Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we have been adopted in the family of Abraham. As Abe's kids, we inherit all the blessings of our new father. This allows us to continue the work of Jesus.
Erwin McManus said, "The church must be grounded in a proper theology of change, not simply to address the radically changing world in which we live, but to advanced the cause of Christ in a world that cannot produce the real change that has to take place." When we learn that change is a permanent part of life and then embrace it, we will start on the journey to the true heart of God. He is an unchanging God who changes everything.
