The Bible presents angels as real spiritual beings created by God to serve His purposes. They are neither divine nor human, but powerful messengers and servants who operate under God's authority. Throughout Scripture, angels appear at significant moments in redemptive history, while fallen angels oppose God's will and seek to deceive humanity. Jeremiah 37 records events during the reign of King Zedekiah while Jerusalem was under threat from Babylon (Jer. 37:1). The chapter reveals Judah's continued disobedience to God, the certainty of divine judgment, and the faithfulness of Jeremiah amid persecution. The chapter encourages believers to place their confidence in the Lord rather than in their own understanding and assures them that God's direction leads to the...

Jeremiah 36 recounts how God commands Jeremiah to write all his prophetic warnings on a scroll, hoping Judah might hear and repent. Jeremiah dictates the message to Baruch, who reads it publicly in the temple, alarming the officials. When the scroll is brought to King Jehoiakim, he defiantly cuts it apart and burns it piece by piece, rejecting God’s word despite the officials’ pleas. God responds by commanding Jeremiah ...
Jeremiah 35 sets the Rechabites in deliberate contrast to Judah’s disobedience. God instructs Jeremiah to bring the Rechabite family into a chamber of the temple and offer them wine. They refuse immediately, honoring the ancient command of their ancestor Jonadab. Their answer is simple and faithful: “We will drink no wine” (Jeremiah 35:6 KJV). For more than two centuries they kept Jonadab’s instruction to ab...

Genesis 1 is structured in two movements: God forms the world in the first three days and fills it in the next three.
On the first day, God creates light, establishing the fundamental distinction between day and night. The second day introduces the expanse—heaven—separating waters above from waters below. The third day brings dry land and vegetation, preparing the earth as a habitable environment.
Then God fills wha...
