Rise for the Jury
What really happens when a civil or criminal case makes it to trial and 12 regular people (most of whom have no formal education about the legal system) are expected to be an impartial judge and ultimately make the final decision about a person’s guilt or innocence? Each episode breaks down the case before exploring what it was actually like to sit in the jury box: the pressure, the uncertainty, the conflicts, and the lasting impact of serving on a jury.

On December 6, 2012, 13-year-old Briana Naylor was murdered in Phoenix, Arizona. Tashawn Treyvon Cheatham was immediately apprehended. More than ten years later, this case would go to trial. Jane - Juror 4 in this case - was seated on the jury for eight months. This is her story.
