El Shaddai: The Almighty God Who Keeps His Covenant
“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”...
He is El Shaddai—God Almighty. When Abraham was ninety-nine years old, God appeared to him, reaffirmed His covenant, and changed his name from Abram to Abraham. His age could not cancel God’s promise. In God’s appointed time, Isaac—the promised child—was born! —Genesis 17:1–5; Genesis 21:1–3
