In Episode 11 of my podcast Life & Leadership Connected Podcast, I interview Sherrika Sanders. She is a career advancement coach and an Accountant's career Coach. She aims to help women in accounting who may be struggling to find and use their voice, and to progress in their career development or professional growth, especially in corporate America. She has a passion for equipping women accountants with the essential skills required to excel in any professional setting. She has 15+ years of experience in corporate accounting. She used to work as a Corporate Controller. She has broad experience in Team Leadership and has successfully managed teams of various sizes with employees in the US, Canada, and Latin America. But, for several years she was overworked, under-resourced and struggled to meet deadlines, and received no support or understanding from the upper management; and instead they exploited the situation, as Sherika at that time didn´t ecognize her value, which other people saw. It came to a point in life where she finally had enough, and made the decision, to leave her job, and start something new. She started a company called "Transform the GAAP" (Goals Assigned Achieving Purpose), to empower high-performing women in accounting to confidently assert themselves, and secure well deserved promotions and excell in any professional setting, and overcome obstacles currently hindering them from excelling in their careers. She has a Bachelors in Accounting, an MBA (Master of Business and Administration) and a Masters in Organizational Leadership.
