What if creativity could change lives? What if storytelling, drama, and even AI could help people navigate life's struggles, addiction, recovery, and the justice system?

In this episode, I sit down with Mark MacNicol, an award-winning writer, director, and founder of The Creative Change Collective, to explore the power of the arts in fostering resilience. With a Master's in screenwriting, multiple stage and screen productions, and two novels (Coconut Badger & Finn McCool Rises), Mark has spent his career shaping stories. But his most powerful work happens offstage; helping real people transform their lives.

We dive into his unique ‘anonymous-drama’ model, which has impacted thousands, from those in recovery to individuals at risk of entering the justice system. Mark also shares insights from his Find Your Mentor (FYM) programme, his own experiences, and how he sees AI as a tool for resilience.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
