(00:04):
Hey guys, and welcome to the South
development Collective.
So it's definitely been a minute since I
last podcast.
I'm at Uni at the moment studying my grad
Depot sock and it's being such a rough Ram
because it's so very challenging.
I find it really hard to do things like lab
reports.
And so I've just been putting my all into
that and yes, I'm back.

(00:26):
Yeah because there are so many things
waiting to be answered that I spoke about
in my last email.
So if you're checking me out on my porch
cost or YouTube make sure to sign up to my
emails.
I send an email every week and I also have
a Q in a form that you can ask a question
and I will answer in a pod cost.
So this is what I'm doing today.

(00:47):
So it's it's just to give you that rundown
as well.
So I'm going to share with you what the
person right on the phone so that right.
I don't know if I'm on the right path in my life.
I'm working on a dream and I've made a plan
of action to achieve it.
I've been working on it for a few months.
But I keep facing projections and setbacks
and it makes me feel hopeless now.

(01:08):
I wonder that maybe I'm being naive and I
should still pissed doing it.
I don't know what to do next.
I wanted at maybe I should give up and let
it guard I am making progress every day,
which is intentional progress tackle
anything skills and working on a new
feature film script xcetera, but
externally, I'm not going anyway, I'm not
getting any new projects or anything like that.

(01:29):
I wanted to maybe I should stop it now and
find a job like others.
It feels like my efforts were in vain.
I feel so hopeless and I don't know what is
rittany my future I feel tired now.
Sorry fishings Fest.
I completely understand what you mean about
feeling hopeless feeling like you're trying

(01:50):
really hard to achieve something and you
just never getting somewhere.
And I definitely I'm saying that from
personal experience.
I have an episode that all share the
description down below but I actually share
one of the times that I had a failed launch
and that's not the first time I've had
another one as well.
So I get what you mean because I have

(02:10):
definitely felt like this as well,
especially when it comes to these work and
what I'm doing, sometimes I've felt like,
you know, I've worked so hard and not
really gone to where I'd hoped. So
Inside now, I think the first thing that I
would say for you and like something that I
would suggest from again, I can only speak
from my own experience.
But if you're feeling tired take a break

(02:33):
and I know that sounds really like
straightforward but it's really challenging
when we feel like we're not getting where
we want to go because we kind of think will
if I stop I'm definitely not going to get there.
So we push ourselves and we push ourselves
and the experience I've had when I have a
meeting at Stacey's the more I push myself
the further away I've gotten from actually

(02:53):
getting to where I want to go because I end
up in his like nanny so I could have just
working.
I'm working.
I'm working to try and get somewhere and
exhausting myself in the process and I can
literally attest to this a year ago.
I had a friend that came over and I
literally said two I've had enough like I'm
not doing this anymore.
I feel like I've just given me giving you
my everything and milk on anything back and

(03:15):
this is one of my best friends who came over.
I was literally life.
I think you need to take a minute take a
step back and she recommends.
A cartridge and I was like, okay, but I
think the most important part here is if
you're feeling tired trust yourself listen
to yourself and take a minute because you
know, you're trying to force you out
passions.
He's challenging.
It does take a look and I think that rest

(03:36):
is really important.
But sometimes we choose United keep going
rather than to rest because we just sorta
got to get to where we want to go where we
think we should be.
Through my system is take a minute.
Take a step back from what you're doing
because taking a step back gives us a
moment to reflect gives us a moment to
really assess what's happening what we're

(03:57):
doing what we could we be doing
differently.
So that's distressing.
Take a minute.
I like in the long run.
It's going to pay off everytime.
I take a minute every time I take a break I
end up better off.
So that's honestly what I would start with
then I want to talk about plans because I
noticed she said I'm working on a dream and
have a plan of action to achieve it.

(04:17):
So I think I'll dream of passion.
What we want to achieve is one thing and
then a strategy outplanned the way that we
want to get that is another thing right
because we can have a goal we can have a
drain we can have a an idea of who we want
to be what we want to achieve what a
success might look like.
We can have lots of ideas around what we

(04:39):
want to feel what the I do today would be
but there isn't just one way to get there.
And so I see
For example, I'm in my own experience.
When we have a passion that passion doesn't
often go away.
If we change the plan.
I think that sometimes plans can be tricky
because we get so we hurting so much and

(05:00):
how we think we need to achieve something
that we don't give us all the time and
space to really think of other ways we can
achieve it as well. So
I think also something that I've recognized
in making my own plans and when they've
been really like full-on plans that I think
I have to follow to get to somewhere.
I've noticed that it tends to really make

(05:23):
me feel like there's only one way that I'm
going to change my the contentment that I'm
looking for in life.
And so I really just
What I would you pass me in the situation
is take a step back and hurting again on
what you're dreaming is who you want to be
what you're trying to achieve in the sense,
you know, what's what's the ultimate

(05:44):
outcome? So I never forget it.
If I said I read it was about your goals
are not about the things that we get.
It's the feelings that we get from those
things.
So I would be asking myself What feelings
am I looking for? What's in my ideal day
look like you know, what am I? What are the
passions that I'm hoping to express through
the work that I'm doing what I really love

(06:05):
doing what you know really resonates with me.
What do I feel cold to so going back to
that and really, you know, I think getting
your Y-back figuring out, you know, that
dream that you have just rehashing it out again.
That's what I would do and I would really
consider that and some questions that have
helped me in my own experience and

(06:26):
questions at Austin shit is they want so
these equations again, you can lock
yourself just to like rely on yourself.
So what would a truly plus prosperous life
look like and feel like for you where and
how would you leave? How would you feel
about yourself? The second question is when
you see with yourself and say you'll most

(06:47):
aligned self.
What does that person look like? What do
they think about themselves? What's
important to them what it is about?
And there's two questions are really just
the point of those two questions is to
really again go back to that dream figure
out why it's your dream.
What do you think? It's going to give you

(07:08):
what are the feelings that you're searching
for behind that dream?
And I do want to say something because I
think it's really important.
I'm not trying to say at all that you know,
you shouldn't continue with the plan but I
am suggesting that if the outcome isn't
what you want, sometimes it's worth looking
at the plan and changing it off.
And the reason I'm saying this is because I

(07:29):
know that I like I've worked so much in my
buggy and he might work and I think that
one thing that has never changed all the
toughest.
I like to talk about the passion I had
behind you no wanting to help people the
passion I have behind wanting to see and
make these podcast and do this or what but

(07:49):
what has changed is my strategy in the way
I go about it.
So for example, I used to do a lot of like
freebies and free download in all of this
stuff and I thought of get really
frustrated because I just felt like I was
giving everything and never getting much back.
I'm sorry.
What I did was I was like, okay.
I'm not where I want to be.
So I started listening to someone called on

(08:11):
Evelyn and He has the coach gray table and
I started listening to her where I can
following through with his stuff.
And now I have my grief with Chase and I
have my mini membership and I've really
started to change the way I do things or
forget about you supposed Instagram posts
with all these ideas and suggestions and
like everybody else and I said, it wasn't

(08:32):
getting anywhere.
I was hardly getting in your life didn't
matter how much I posted I wasn't really
growing, you know, I wasn't even getting
any Financial sort of success for my wife
and I felt like I had done so much and give
it away so much.
And so that was when the friend came over I
was like, thank you.
Just change the way of doing it go and get

(08:52):
a car to get some support around what
you're trying to do.
And so I did and honestly change the game
for me ever since then.
I've approached my content differently.
I reproached, you know, my products
differently.
I've approached my communication in the way.
I put myself out there an Instagram
differently.
So my passion hasn't changed but the way
I've approached it has its own.

(09:12):
That's what I'm trying to suggest might be
something that you might want to look up
because honestly when things happen with
y'all, I just adjusted the way I've gone
about things that I've always asked myself
if I'm not where I want to be why didn't I
why didn't I get to the outcome that I was
hurting.
What do I continuously do that leads me to

(09:34):
this out, and that just gave me so much
insight into the things that I just kept
doing to myself right? That would tape The
Landing me in the same spot and it was only
when I really started to reflect on the
strategy in the plan that I started to say
progress in a different way and I was like,
I'm really happy with how things are going
right now for me and I think that's just

(09:54):
because I've kept the dream changed the
plan, you know what I mean? So if that's
kind of that's really what I'd like to
suggest to you.
And then finally I do want to say
I think it's really great that you pointed
out the progress that you've made as a
person because I do think that that's
something that we always skip when we look

(10:16):
at who we are and the success we've
achieved in different ways the confidence
that it takes to put us out there the
courage and the skills that that feels the
fact that every time every day that you
choose to do something that really
resonates with you is another day that you
kind of trees that in a compass and I think
that's really honestly really impressive

(10:38):
because that is a hot thing to do.
I mean, it's taking me so much work to be
comfortable where I am and I think it's
really great that you have a project in
that you really giving it your all and I
think that's actually lovely that you had
found the cartridge to pursue your passion.
So, please don't forget to remember that
answer really hard.
Because that is such a powerful change that

(11:00):
we can create for us house and it's such an
amazing pod about growth when we really
start to follow through with what clothes are so
I just wanted to add that.
And then finally, I do want to say please
don't give up hurry up on what you are doing.
I really think that it again.
It's so you can register to be able to go

(11:21):
out and do something that you feel cold to
you either.
Especially when you feel is there it kind
of goes against the grain.
I know that that's like I know it like I
understand what you're saying that since
and I think any way shape or form going
against the grain and that's why I speak of
that brand you like it could actually just
be saying no to something that your family
always say it like I mean, no way just
talkin about going against the grain and

(11:43):
Tim's of the way someone create success.
I'm talking about it in any way shape or
form and I think that's really amazing that
you that you've managed to do this.
Do you think that it's so important that if
this is something that you feel cold to do
it and you feel it like, you know, if you
still have that this passion is yours turn
TV up hurry up and something that's really
helped me is like honestly like easy thing.

(12:06):
I've literally gone and listened to stories
or red.
Or look at me more.
I read them all.
You know watch documentaries on people that
I really admire mainly because you know,
when we say people that we admire we
usually say then whenever he reaches
success, but we don't see what it takes
what it took to get there and I seen such a
challenge used.

(12:27):
When was trying to achieve something, you
know, we had this idea person that's built
on different things that we staying and we
tend to have like a couple of people that
we really admire and when we look at them
we say d like the angle we say who we want
to be but we do you say how they got there.
And so I think that we tend to look at our
struggles and think that it's just stop all
that we are just shouldn't they doing what

(12:48):
we're doing? But when you going to look
back at people's doors and you stay the
challenges it it just gives you a bit of
support to keep going and I think you start
to notice when you start to listen to the
stories that you know, there's not much
difference between you and the person that
you're hoping to becoming the person that
you're looking at that you would my it's
literally just the fact that this person
just didn't stop they just didn't give up.

(13:09):
I listen to someone recently that said, you
know, you do 101 business ideas and
eventually one will work.
And he honestly he was I listen to him just
before I was about to stop everything and
realize like I have to keep going these
guys just kept going but in saying that he

(13:29):
was really aware of what he wanted to do
and he did he was trying to strategize
different businesses different ways of
going about it.
So I do think like if you're turning in on
the same strategy not getting where you
want to go then it's time to sort of think
that through change that up see what you
can do differently.
Maybe it's it looks like what I do for you
getting support from someone encouraged
listening to stories about other people

(13:51):
hearing other people's struggles
recognizing the common common ground in
that sense, you know, no one started like
where they are now when we look at them and
not that's something that's really really
helpful and I think the message that I hurt
to leave you with you Eric anything that we
Doing last-minute adjustments so I could
tell you now I have failed so many times I

(14:12):
have had so many ideas at haven't worked or
haven't fully through businesses that I've
done with people that have them with me and
you and my passion.
What I truly want to do is never change,
but the why are going too bad it has sorry
if you trust just trusted this is your
passion and if you feel like this is what
you want to do with your life then please

(14:33):
don't give up just keep adjusting just keep
adjusting until you get to know the person
that you want to be and sometimes you know,
even where we think we should be, you know,
we get there and then when not where we
it's no always felt life.
So, you know, it's all it's all the kind of
it's a little learning curve.
It's all a learning curve and that's
something that I think I've really applied
this year especially and getting that cart

(14:56):
reminding myself that it's not easy on you
know, he's a challenging experience to
Fuller 3 1/2 it back off to sit back.
Sorry taking a break taking a minute when
you need it.
So important just a seems I would really say
I understand what you're saying.
I have been at that point of hopelessness
so many times and I'm really glad that I

(15:16):
didn't give up on the passion that are only
strange the way I would have got things.
So I hope that really helps sending so much
love out to you.
Thank you so much for your question.
And I heard that this suggestions I gave
you a whole food.
So thanks so much for listening to this
episode and I'll catch you in the next one.
