In June 2024, Julian Assange entered into a plea deal with the U.S. Department of Justice pleading guilty to one espionage charge in exchange for a five-year sentence, which the U.S. agreed had already been served on remand in a UK prison.
This ended a fourteen-year period of hell for Assange for the crime of practicing journalism.
This episode is a recap of the saga of Julian Assange.
