FCK THIS with Jane Doe is what happens when you hit your 60s and realize you’re done pretending you have it all figured out. I’m Jane Doe. I’m 62, menopausal, married, a mother—and navigating a chapter of life nobody really prepares you for. Aging. Marriage. Sex. Friendships. Family. Changing bodies. Caregiving. Loss. Reinvention. And all the ridiculous, painful, funny, wonderful shit in between. This isn’t a podcast about aging gracefully. It’s about aging honestly. Some weeks we’ll laugh. Some weeks we’ll get pissed off. Some weeks we may cry. But we’re going to talk about the things women our age are actually thinking—and don’t always say out loud. No experts telling us how we should feel. No pretending everything is fabulous. Just real conversations about what life looks like now.
I used to live in stilettos. I wore them all day as a flight attendant, walked airports in them, works in them, danced in them - and honestly thought they were the absolute pinnacle of femininity.
Then somehow...my feet staged a coup.
So what the fuck happened?
In this episode, I explain why I chose the name Jane Doe - and why that name means so much more to me than anonymity.
Years ago, during a domestic violence case, I was stripped of my actual name and was identified in my court case as "Jane Doe". I lost the case, he walked away. I was humiliated, angry and left feeling like my story didn't matter.
At some point in your 60s apparently the chickens start sounding like a good idea.
In this episode I'm trying to figure out when fresh eggs, a vegetable garden and a quiet backyard became more appealing than a night out.
Am I one chicken coop away from living off the grid?
Apparently, once you hit your 60s, the fashion industry thinks you should surrender quietly to khaki pants & a trench coat.
No thank you.
Let's talk about the completely confusing experience of getting dressed at this age. I don't want to dress like I'm 25, but I also don't want to look like I've given up!
Apparently being a woman in your 60s now requires a full time wellness department. Protein. Water. Magnesium. Sleep. Strength training. Peptides. NAD. Skincare. Ten thousand steps. And god forbid you forget your electrolytes.
So when I am suppose to have time for a cocktail ?????
why do we call younger women who date older men gold diggers but we don't a name for the men who deliberately look for younger women?
In this episode Jane Doe turns the stereotype around and asks what happens when we look at both sides....
At 62 I didn't exactly "start a podcast". But here I am.
I'm Jane Doe, I'm not a doctor, therapist of a life coach....just a women who's lived 62 years and has a lot of stories and is finally ready to say some of the things women our age are thinking but don't say out loud.
