Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to the nerdy news you need to know
throughout the week on Iheartrady went bad cast services around
the world. Because my name's Hoddy.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
That's Teddy, And it's another soul old dole old day
and we are gonna have fun today because and doors
officially out and you know we're going on breaking, on down,
and we're gonna have a good time.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Because it's a solo dolo day. Baby, We're gonna have
a good old day. But yeah, christis on that podcast. Hello,
my name is Hoodie. You can I love long walks
on the beach from Virginia Beach. So it makes sense.
But Kevin is unfortunately out today, unfortunately his dad duty
and uh unfortunately, Oh it is a fortunate benefit. I
love Kevin has two kids. But you know that takes
(00:56):
precedence over watching three hours of and Or, which a
man who as a dog and a wife who's is working.
Uh so I just got nothing to do, so I
watched three hours of and Or. So we're obviously gonna
talk about that and so much more, including some new trailers.
One that just came out today we'll talk about and
one that came out last week, though we didn't really
get the chance to talk about but I figured, why
(01:17):
not let's watch it had some time that the podcasts
go full hour and enjoy all that goodness. But if
you want to see everything we're gonna talk about today
and so much more, you can go to at Infinite, Underscore,
boy Zoni, Instagram, odiax go and give it to you
always gonna have a good time there, keeping it up
to date on everything you need to know when it
comes to nerd news. Or if you want to see
(01:37):
our beautiful faces, maybe you do listen to audio versions
podcasts you've always maybe just been part of routine. Maybe
it's on Apple podcasts on Spotify or an iHeart. Well, hey,
you can also see our faces now. I know Spotify
is currently testing out like video versions of the podcast
and we haven't gotten into the beta or whatever for
that yet, but we're ready to go. So if you
(01:58):
do listen to us on Spotify, just know you'll be
able to see our faces soon. And there pretty cool,
pretty pretty good if I do say so myself. And
Teddy's pretty cool too, if he's not munching on his
booty over there. So Teddy, we're gonna put you over there.
There you go go, put you over there so you're
not munching on your booty. There we go, right, we
use the op on the covers up his booty and
you need to see that. But because Kevin is out,
(02:20):
obviously it is a skeleton crew of the podcast Q
Star Wars skeleton crew. But we keep the show going
because hey, there's a lot of nerdy news going. I
mean last week, last weekend alone, there was so much
we had to punt one of the traders that we're
gonna talk about to today, and that's totally okay. But
we do always start the podcast properly with a little
thing I like the call what should do It? Where
(02:42):
we talk about the shows and movies we've been watching,
games we've been playing, lives we've been living, and just
have a good time talking about the things that maybe
you're looking for something to watch or play, Well, we
got you covered. I do know Kevin is once again
stuck in a mass of that cold man will never
leave the mass effect hole and that between that Assassin's creed,
(03:04):
that man will never get out of those two big
game franchises. But that's still okay. Play what you love,
you know what I'm saying, but as for me, more
and I are still watching The Crown, which is really cool.
I'll probably bring it up. Well i'm bringing up now
is there's a couple actors that were now that we're
finally watching The Crown, or an and Or you're like, oh,
look at that's that guy. That's that guy, look it up.
(03:24):
We'll talk about that when we get to and or
season two talking about all that goodness. But besides that,
still watching Jurassic World. Camportation took a little bit of
break just because it was a lot and I was
like a break. I don't need these kids run away
from dinosaurs. So hopefully we'll finish that last season then
get in Chaos Theory. Then Kevin can plan all the
theorizings for the show with me that he's wanted for
(03:45):
the past like three months. But on top of watching that,
I did watch Black Mirror season seven kind of casually.
I know I talked about I think last week, but
I think it was like three episodes in. I did
watch the other episodes. I thought the Paul Gmadi episode
was really good of just like a good reveal of like,
oh he essentially the frame up is someone he used
(04:07):
to know. We find out it was an ex passed
away and they're trying to get everyone's memories to sort
of you know, have at the funeral, and eventually like
he you know, had a bad X and kind of
scratched out our faces and it was like they went
through multiple scenes to finally figure out what she looked like,
and they had for the funeral it was, which is
pretty cool. I really liked that episode. The main theme
(04:29):
I've noticed of this season is it is those little
circle dots they've been put they put on their little temples.
I think for the most part, almost every episode had
that in some different form or fashion. I know there's
a through line two of a Black Mirror episode just
kind of got to find it and connect the dots
of this place. This takes place here and there and
(04:50):
then boop up, beep up. But I still think the
first episode, Recida Jones, was great and I'm I got
about thirty minutes left of the uss col episode, which
is a movie of itself and has been a fun ride.
And I think if Black Beer just do one of
those every other season, because I mean, Christine Malati just
(05:11):
got even more famous, you know, so like and everyone
loves her, so why not. I do think like if
you're I'm more of a casual Star Trek fan, but
I respect it. Like I've wanted to try the Paramount
Plus shows, but I just there's too much other stuff
to watch. But we'll get there eventually once we get
through Camp Cretaceous. But if you do, like you know,
the movies since J J. Abrams or just back in
(05:32):
the day, like the USS Colister episodes are like some
of the best Black Beaner episodes just because they're like, oh,
they did all this set design and all of this,
and then you find out some of the reveals and
it's it's really cool. Plus it's like, oh, man, video
games could be like that. That'd be really dope. But yeah,
I'm excited to finish that up and then we'll be
done with that so we can watch more Camp Cretatious
(05:53):
most likely as well. It kind of goes with if
our reviews and Kevin will probably attest to this too
whenever he has a solo day. Is we have the
shows we have, we watch, we have to watch, we
want to watch like and Or, and unfortunately there's three
hours of that, and then we have the casual shows
which we kind of watch before we sit down and
watch these shows, and those two are like my shows.
On top of that, you have boys been playing some
(06:15):
more Indiana Jones, The Great Circle. It has been fun.
I do love I think I talked about this on
Monday that because I'm playing on PlayStation five, I waited
a couple months, and obviously the guides and all that
stuff we're out now. But the coolest thing is Xbox
or Microsoft has an option, and it's a hidden option
that if you are a trophy or achievement hunter, you
(06:36):
can connect your PlayStation play of the game to your
Xbox accounts. You'll get trophies and achievements, which is like
a dream come true. I feel like for most video
game fans that we never would get like back in
the day, that that has now possible thanks to Xbox.
But it's really fun. I think it's cool. And I
don't like that the game is in a first person
(06:58):
I do wish it wasn't third person the whole time.
I know it is in cut scenes, just because if
you're gonna pay for in Harrison Ford's likeness, I want
to see him the whole time, not just in the
cut scenes. So if they do get to do a
second one, which they might mean because Xbox and Bethesden
now on the Indiana Jones IP for right now, at
least I think they could. I mean it got reviewed well,
(07:20):
I think it did financially okay to warn a sequel,
and it's an ip. Everyone kind of knows the day nowadays,
so it could work. But it is cool too, Like
if you I'm not a super Indiana Jones mega fan,
like I am Star Wars, but I've watched them. But
playing the game wants me to watch the movies, which
I think is always a good thing of our either
(07:42):
watching a show or reading a book. Wants to do
the other thing, and I think that's really cool because
like right now, I'm still collecting all the Series of
Unfortunate Event books. I'm looking for the second one in
the thirteenth one, and I've gotten them all secondhand, which
is really cool, and they're all first editions, which is
which is cool too. But once I do that, I'm
gonna read them. And I don't watch the Netflix show again,
even though I watched it like five years ago. It's
(08:04):
a cool little like I know it's synergy, but it's
really fun along that lights. Andy Drogon in the chat
said she's currently watching One Day at a Time, which
she's totally late four, but so far she's enjoying it.
I think One Day at a Time if I recall, oh,
this is Netflix one okay, yeah, yeah, that was on
(08:26):
Netflix for a minute and then got canceled and people
are like, why to get canceled? That's great. Netflix is
always good for like sort of their legacy shows, which
that kind of was of that era too, of like
the sitcom shows. When Netflix is kind of tapped into
that they could still watch them. Netflix doesn't get rid
of them like HBO Max does, unfortunately, but that's okay.
She's also reading Sunrise on the Reaping alongside the dark
(08:47):
prophecy Sunrise on the Reping. I is along those sign
kind of synergy lines. I I see it, and I
see a lot of people reading I think more. And
I actually saw someone reading it at the airport and
I wanted to ask him, like do you like it?
And I know I kind of didn't want a weird
amount or anything, but I do think and ballad as songs,
(09:09):
songbirds and Snakes. I was like, oh, I could read it,
but the movie coming, you know, a year later. Same
thing with this book. I think that's a weird thing
lions Gate kind of has with Suzanne Collins's books, is
that once the book comes out, we say we'll see
you in the movie at about a year from now.
It's an interesting debate there, but I do think a
(09:29):
lot of people write the book, so it's it's great
and almost of a fourth wing. I'll get the fourth
wing eventually. I'm traveling next weekend, so hopefully we'll get
through it next week and then yeah, if you haven't
watched Last of Us, watch it because it was good.
And there's supposed to be a new PlayStation sale tomorrow
as of this podcast recording, so hopefully that puts the
Last of Us Part two remastered on sale if you
have a PS five, because I need to buy it
(09:51):
and play it, and then you can be ready for
season three whenever, whenever that happens, because unfortunately it will
end probably in the middle of the game, and you
have another year plus to catch up on the game
if you really want to do that. But that's what
I've been doing obviously. Like Andy Drogan, you can always
let us know what you're doing in the d ms
at infanet score pods or like I said, Twitch dot
(10:12):
tv slash infant underscore pods as well. But let's get
on into it because it is time. And first things first,
let's head on over to Reaction Theater because that's right,
I figured it out how to do it for one person.
(10:32):
We have to break down that Fantastic four trailer we
didn't see last weekend. So uh so we're gonna watch
Fantastic four trailer. We'll watch it fully, then we'll talk
about it a little bit too, which is the best part. Uh,
we've mastered our reaction theater that can do these type
(10:53):
of things. That way, if you watch us in video form,
you can see the trailer. If not, you can hear
the audio still, which is even cooler about it too,
because you can if you've seen the trailer or I
want to see it later, you hear our reactions to it. Overall,
I did see this trailer. It is wild that I
kind of kind of said this on Monday. We did
have a weekend of Pedro Pascal last weekend too, because
this trailer came out and then Mandalori and Grogu News
(11:15):
came out, so he was at Star Wars celebration and
then obviously lots of us happened, so big Man Pedro
last weekend, last weekend. This trailer, I think is the
first real trailer, the one we've kind of had where
we always eat sunder. It's seven o'clock sharp or whatever
was the teaser trailer. This is the full one. Really excited,
so let's get onto it, talk about it, and see
(11:37):
what we think about it. So here we go. Three
to one myself. You may hit play and hit playing.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Wow, folks, we all know the story.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Definitely going for the fifty sixties into.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Space, hell yeah, and comeback forever changed.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
This car. So people like them, which I feel like
for a while they hated.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Oh a debt to these intrepid souls, ohrd, we can
never repay them. We can certainly celebrate.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
The fantastic Thank you, fantastic four.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Please, well it's fantastic four, Herbie.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
How's that sauce looking cousin? Okay, that's fantastic. You're late?
Speaker 4 (12:28):
What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (12:29):
What do you mean? What do I mean? Good? Late
for dinner? Seven o'clock? I just said that. Are you pregnant?
So Star, I'm pregnant y'all. Daniel Richard is happening to
be the best mom in the world, and you are
going to be the best dat just kidding. You are
out of your death. We're going to be the best
uncles ever.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
We can do.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
This thing's going to change, Nothing will change. Fantastic. It's July.
It's like two months away, which is wild.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Are you the protectors of this world? Yes we are.
Your planet is now marked for death.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Oh classic human torch getting needed.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
But the silver served accounts of space and they're hurt,
always safe.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
I don't know, maybe there's not enough time. I'm not
giving up.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
We will face this together as a family. We will
fight it together as a family.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Hell yeah, I mean an action figure has to be
Oh yeah, finally get to see him scretch. We will
protect you. It's Clack just casually walking. He fits in
(14:23):
the streets in New York. So that's nice. Yeah. July
twenty fifth one that comes out, which, like I said,
is like three months away, but we'll just say it's
two July is gonna be stacked with movies like Superman
that we have j justic World as well. It's gonna
be a good time and it is wild. That we
just have Thunderbolts next weekend. As of this podcast recording,
(14:44):
there's been early reviews and some say it looks really good.
Some are saying it is one of the best movies
since the Endgame. But we'll be the judge of that.
But apparently for your Thunderbolt start two end credit scenes,
so just pro tip on that we found that out.
But yeah, but based on this trailer though, it is
kind of the a little bit of the opposite of
the first trailer, where the first one was kind of
(15:04):
more hopeful and like, oh, it's fantastic, fool We're you know,
this kind of does that from the beginning and then
kind of like, yeah, but we can't always save the day,
you know. And guess what, Galactus and a silver lady
on a surfboard. Surfboard gonna probably be the doom pun
intended of this planet until they skirt over to the
(15:27):
X Men universe or something like that for for Avengers Doomsday. Yeah,
I think the vibe of this movie looks great. I think,
you know, Pedro in Pedro we trust nowadays, Vanessa Kirby
is kind of killing it. It is wild. I did
say this on Monday, but because we're watching the Crown
more thought Vanessa Kirby was brunette. I was like, no,
(15:47):
she's been blocked for a while. And it's like, oh yeah,
Joe Quinn's been killing it too. And then obviously Evon
Moss Backrocks since the cousin, our cousin, and the bear, like,
all four of these have been killing on her own.
So have four actors come together like this, It's gonna
be an Avengers tier of like actors, who's who's of actors?
It will be interesting. This trailer really did focus more
(16:09):
on the galactus silver surfer threat. We do know there is.
I think it's Red Ghost. I believe. Let me check
that one out. Actually Red Ghost, Uh Fantastic four. Yeah,
Red Ghost is supposed to apparently John Malkovich. And then
Paul walter Hauser is also attached, and so's a Natasha Leone.
(16:29):
So it'll be interested to see how they factor into
this movie. If the larger threat is a silver surfer
and galactus, and maybe it is you know, John Malkovich,
and if Paul walter Hauser will say he's moleman. Are
you're opening credit villains or something they do in a montage,
then until the Big Threat comes on, because I think
(16:49):
you can't have too many villains, especially Fantastic Four. People
know Doom and they know Galactus because of the other
two Fantastic Four movies, but you don't know kind of
the deeper roster of Hitler Rogues Gallery. So be interesting
to see how they play into that. And we'll Inntation
lely On play Birdie. Well, we'll find out kind of.
But overall looks great going for the great Vibes. I
(17:10):
think it is really like putting the Fantastic Four in
a good light. And the interesting thing will be, hey,
we did get Chris Evans as Johnny Storm. Can we
get some of the other Fantastic Jessica album Michael Chickliss.
Will they pop up in Secret Wars? Maybe? Now we
get some understanding of this is our current Fantastic Four
and these are the former Fantastic Four. Yeah. Andy Dragon says,
(17:34):
I've been a bit whatever about this movie, but the
trailer kind of has their hype. Now. I think this
was the trailer they needed to like not onlyast sell
you on the movie, but be like, all right, we're
in good hands with this movie. And I think that's
kind of what the purpose of a full trailer is.
And with Thunderbolts coming out next week, we'll probably see
this trailer when you go see that movie. We're good
(17:56):
to go. And I think probably four for July. They'll
do something because July Warre and Supermans for trying to
own that, but they'll pop in most likely. But you
know this, I think Marvel's in a good shape of
Thunderbolts will be like a soft punch and this will
be a jab. And then you got obviously two Vendors
movies in a spider Man movie next year. Source set.
Now the thing is, before we do get to the
(18:17):
next trailer, we know Ironheart is somewhere popping up this summer.
No kind of updated word on when it's coming. We
didn't kind of know June, but we haven't had a
full trailer for it for the show overall, which you know,
Ree Williams. Ironheart supposed to have Methisto teased in there
(18:38):
because the Hood is going to be the villain, which
will be my new comic con persona overall, because the Hood,
it's easy. So we need to see how Disney kind
of refocuses the shows, because it seems like the movies
right now are on a good front, but the show's
kind of gotta keep you going to the movies. Now.
We rely on those shows, Like we know there's an
Eyes of a Conda show, and potentially you might get
(19:02):
X Men ninety seven or ninety eight whatever they're gonna
call season two of that, and Friendly Neighborhood Spider Man
somewhere there in the horizon too. So we'll see overall,
but let's slip on over. We'll go from one former
Frocks Fox Fox property, which was Fantastic four, to a
different one, which is Predator bad Lands. The first trailer
(19:22):
just came out today. It's kind of been one of
those secret not secret projects, but secret delights we're kind
of hoping will do good this summer. We do know.
I try to get this the director of Pray, I
think it is Daniel track not Daniel Predator Balance is
Dan Trackton Burke. There you go. He will be coming back.
(19:44):
He did Pray. He is doing the other Predator movie
which comes out this summer, Predator Killer of Killers, which
comes out in June. This movie slated for November, only
five months later, so being toc does the animated Predator
move We tea up. This one we'll find out, but
it looks good so far. This one live action, we
know l Fanning is supposed to be in it, and
(20:07):
November seventh is all we kind of know. So let's
watch it and talk about I did see it one time,
and I gonna spoil what happens. So three to one begin,
Oh want a predatorship.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
I didn't think you survived.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
November seventh. The director. Oh, he's an android. Okay, we're
in the future. Predator. Pick a boy predator. Oh we
(20:58):
got a laser sword.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
In hunting something that can't be killed.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Oh, it's like a humanoid predator. Predator got his hairbag,
all right, all right, now, see this one was a
(21:27):
teaser trailer, so this one wasn't gonna give us the
full picture. I think this is what they did tease
at CinemaCon a couple of weeks ago. What we do
now is read the plot of the premise. According to
this is in the future, on a remote planet, a
young predator, outcast from his klan, finds an unlikely ally
in thea played by el Fanning, and embarks on a
(21:47):
treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. So According
to the IMDb, l Fanning will be Fia, She'll will
be a Wayland Utahanni android. So this is probably the
most direct connection to the Alien franchise, a little bit
of you know, the Blade Runner. I think that's a
whole different topic since we've had a VP both Alien
(22:09):
versus Predator movies where you know, Whaley Yahawani was the
thing that kind of mid the month they both fight.
Whoever wins, we lose was the tagline for that movie.
But I think this makes sense. I mean, connect the universes.
We kind of already assumed they are, so why not,
and the franchises are in good hands. I think Alien
Romulus I think, let's see, there's a sequel in development
(22:36):
from Feti Alvarez, who's the director, so he's supposed to
be involved. That did really well. I really love this.
Dan Kocknenberg killed with Prey. It just came out during
the pandemics and not a lot of people watched it.
And then Alien Earth comes out this summer as well,
with from Noah Holly who did Legion and Fargo. So
like it's gonna be a It's a good renaissance for
(22:59):
the a VP franchise. If we want to connect them
still like that. Overall this is cool because it is
the furthest out. We've seen the future wise of the
Predator franchise, so we'll see how they modernize. You know,
we've kind of seen they have the spear, they have
the net, They obviously have the arm cannon, but like,
is a laser sword their new invention. You know how
(23:20):
they compete with it being like twenty ninety nine and
stuff like this, And so be kind of cool to
see Predator in the future going up because they android
not necessarily can die, but you know, they get around,
they get around. Yeah, excited. November seventh, good potential for this,
and I do wish it came out in October because
(23:41):
you know, it is Predator. So it's a little bit
of how many vibes to a degree, but overall excited nonetheless.
So let's go on back over to the normal. There
we go, because we've talked about some trailers. Now let's
talk about what you're really here for. And hopefully you
did your homework because it was a lot. Some would
say this is this is too much. I would say
(24:03):
that because we're talking about the first three episodes of
and Or season two. So let's break it down. Well, yeah,
so we obviously knew that we were gonna get a
season two of this show a while ago. It wasn't
really a thing until we were like three months ago
(24:26):
that we found out that, hey, all twelve episodes will
be released in three episode batches over four weeks most likely.
We don't know the main reason I know we are
getting star Wars and Marvel don't really like to double
dip when it comes to here's a Star Wars show
and a Marvel show coming out at the same time,
unless it's the animated shows. They kind of differ and
(24:48):
do their own thing. But we know, obviously this is out.
We will have Tales of the Underworld, which comes out
next week for Star Wars Day, both coming out. It's
kind of its own thing. Shorts, they kind of do
their own thing. We know the Mall show is coming
out eventually, maybe next year at the earliest, and Star
Wars Visions is coming out this fall, but this is
(25:10):
really the last piece of Star Wars show content we
know for now. Obviously we have a Sosoka season two
which got teased obviously at Star Wars celebration, but I
don't think that's gonna come out in twenty twenty six
because the Mandalorian Grog movie comes out in twenty twenty six,
So it seems like Star Wars is gonna get its
(25:31):
ducats in order. So that way, after Star Wars Visions
and I'm assuming the Mall show, it's all eyes on
Mandoin GROGU don't have any side divergence, just go straight
to the Mandalorian Grog movie. But yeah, what we thought
about season one, I know, Kevin and I really dug it.
It definitely was a departure from what the Disney Plus
shows were doing for Star Wars and Marvel really at
(25:53):
the time. And we've kind of Marvel has kind of
taken notes a little bit from and Andor with Daredevil
Born Again and others some of the other shows like that,
but Star Wars shows have kind of done their own thing.
And it is interesting when you do a little lineup
of all the Star Wars shows. You know, you have Booka,
Bubba fett Obi Wan Kenobi, you have the Accolyte, which
(26:15):
I felt bad for mannyjacent to that man that he
showed up at Star Wars celebration of fans gifted him
the helmet he had in the Acolyte and they and
they're like, well, you're not getting in a season two.
I'm like, gap have about season two. It's what we want.
Damn it. He deserves it. But also we've had a Soska,
which I really dug because if you're a Star Wars
rebel fan, you really dug that well. And obviously Mando
(26:37):
and Grogu and this and this has obviously been the
sort of spotlight of this where the Star Wars shows
need to go, and Mandalone and Grogu kind of fits
the top billing for the other shows. Of it is
you know, filling in canon. It is a tearing to
the canon and you know, moving the plot forward where
and or is Hey, we are in this timeframe and
we're gonna give you dark, deep, gritty, mature stories. Which
(27:00):
episode three that was where all the dark and gritty
stuff happened in this episode in this batch of episodes. Yeah,
I really dug it. Obviously, it's been a while since
we had it. And I will say, if you have
Disney Pluz does have like a recap, a little five
minute video separately from watching the show, watch that if
(27:20):
you haven't seen and or season two already if you have,
maybe just watch it just in case, just because there
are a lot of characters in this show that aren't
necessarily your main guys. You play, you collect and as
action figures or funko pops, you gotta remember them, Like Brassos.
You're like, oh yeah, I like that guy, but I
forgot entirely what he did last season, minus like the
(27:42):
end of the final episode. But knowing that, let's talk
about the first three episodes overall, really enjoyed them, but
I will say it is a lot to watch. If
you are trying to watch them all one day, just
know you got to dedicate. I think it was like
two hours thirty five minutes over the three episodes total,
(28:03):
with just actual episodes going on, so prepare for that.
It will be interesting how this works with sort of
the discourse on this show, because last time it had
its ten or twelve episodes release over that period, those
weekly periods. This it might be we all watched it
and okay, we forget about it, but who knows. Supposedly
(28:26):
what's gonna happen. We'll find out next week. Is every
batch of three episodes it's supposed to be a year
up to the Battle of Yavin in Rogue one. So
this batch of three episodes took place in bb Y four,
which I didn't know was battle before Yavin four, and
then it goes a b Y which is after the
Battle of Yavn, which is cool Curtin, you know, Christian stuff,
(28:47):
but it works for Star Wars too. I don't know,
it's weird, but it is cool. Just to kind of
keep in mind where this takes place with Star Wars Rebels,
with the bad batch, I think that's it right now,
and some of the Tales of the Jedi and Tales
of the Sith and all probably tales of the Underworld
and Obi Wan Kenobi, just to knowwhereld that happens and
(29:08):
kind of see this is what's happening. But I think
they do a good job that Dave Floni is still
overseeing things to a degree, even though this is Tony
Gilroy's show of canon and what can take place and
what can't take place, what can mess with and what
you can't. But let's get onto any episode by episode.
I guess so episode one was one year later because
(29:28):
it takes place one year after the last episode of
and or with season one which was great because I
just knew where you were. We kind of start off
with a little heist with Cassian, which I think was
probably the best way to start it, and I think
they kind of released this early to a couple of fans.
It was like the first ten minutes of Cassian has
infiltrated a sear tie workshop where they make the tie fighters,
(29:53):
and it turns out Casting has gone undercover as a
tie test pilot meets with someone. There's a good line saying,
you know, nervous good it keeps us awake, which is like, hell,
yeah it does if you got stressed like that and
can't sleep. But apparently Casting is trying to steal a
tie Avenger, which is a cool thing in Star Wars
legends lore. At one point it was the big tie
(30:14):
fighter ship Thron was working on some of the Taie
defenders that happened Rebels, But it kind of is a
big behemoth of a tie fighter that's got the bells
and worlds, has you know, laser cannons, got gatling laser
guns and cool stuff. It is what, you know, kind
of a plot point of Rebels. A lot was on
the fal was preventing the tie Defender from existing, and
(30:37):
they said we're gonna use one of those episodes and
just say, hey, Casting has it now. It's Star Wars rhymes,
it happened, happens all the time. Eventually we do find
out Casting gets on ship, he messes up take off,
kind of all the force awakens initially, stormtroopers show up,
including those heavy snow troopers we saw from Solo. A
Star Wars story kind of reminiscent of the beach Troopers
(31:00):
from Rogue One as well. Cassian does escape, and this
was an interesting thing. I don't I didn't mind it,
but is I hope we don't do it all the time.
These three episodes, we had a lot of back and forth.
He's a little bit of this character, here's a little
bit of that character. And I do wish we kind
of stuck with each character for a little longer, because
(31:20):
it'd be like, here is Cassian story, Here's what's happened
with mon Mathma, Here's what's happening with Bis, Here's what's
happened with Cyrel and Deidre in their home life, like
kind of lean into one, but I think they kind
of have to do that just to cover their base
of here's our players, and hopefully next week we're like
focusing more on each of those characters. But we do
find out Bix did survive with Brasos and will from
(31:44):
season one be Too Emo, very treated like a cat
has a little cat bed. I really attuned be Too
Emo to Garfield of just like, hey that's Garfield, It's
be too Emo. Where's Cassian? Where is he? But we
find out Bis kind of has a little bit of
PTSD just from last season of surviving just being jailed
(32:06):
the entire time, and episode three things still don't end
out well for Bis, but we see they've settled on
a harvest planet, Mina Rao in the Outer Rim, and
they've kind of gone undercover, working with farmers just to
mine and fix things while they can, as they're hiding
from the Empire. Obviously from last season. We also find
out on Ma Mafma's planet damn it the Carella out
(32:31):
there you go, that Mam Mafa's daughter is getting married.
They kind of set the arranged marriage up at the
end of last season. So that's why I say, watched
that recap will really help you catch up on everything paring.
You know, Ma Mafl's husband they get along with each other,
but they're still like kind of opposite polls of each other.
Repairing her husband's really rooting for the empire and you know,
benefiting off in Ma Matha obviously be right fight for
(32:54):
the rebellion. Secretly, we find out there was a cool
one shot scene of man Mathma going from like the
beginning of her house all the way to the bottom
gate for two minutes to meet with Luthan stealing scars.
Guard's character. Turns out Luthen's still playing both sides too,
where his aid tells him as he's posing as that
antique seller that casting got out clean and he did
(33:16):
steal the tie avenger for their cause. We still don't
know what it's for, but we'll find out. We see
also that wall this is going on, bix uh and
and Will and Will and barrass bear Sure, yeah, I
got my I got the name is wrong. There they
do see an Imperial cruiser does show up. We later
(33:37):
find out that the Imperial cruiser is doing a quote
unquote Senate update or census update taking supply of everybody. AKA,
they are counting heads and counting numbers of weapons and
people who should be here and who shouldn't honestly, because
Bix and crew don't live where they're supposed to be.
They are refugees. They're worried, which lil really close to home,
(34:01):
especially what's going on nowadays in the US. But it
is and or kind of canet get with, not get
away with, but can do those things, and it is like,
oh yeah, like this is what's actually happening, but it's
in Star Wars terms. We do find out Casting does
arrive at a meeting point and it's empty, but he
does get ambushed by other rebels who don't know what
(34:22):
the hell is going on. They are just apparently of
killed Castings can't contact and they are attempting to hold
Casting hostage, thinking he is a Tie Tie fighter test pilot.
Actually he isn't he in the suit, and they're dumb.
We do also see that creanic yep, he's popped up
in this season because we are very close to Death
(34:44):
Star being built. He actually is having a private meeting
with our two favorite ICP agents, Dedra and part of
Gas where he is telling them about Gorman, which in
sort of the Star Wars legends fame, the massacre of
Gorman is kind of the main thing that caused mon
Mathma to go from being a full fledged Senate member
(35:06):
to being leader of the rebellion. So I'm assuming probably
in that third batch of episodes we'll get something or
we'll hear about it, or we'll see it, and it's
the fourth batch form mon Moth and we'll rise the
cause up to when she pops up in Rogue one
like we see her. I thought it was really cool.
I mean, really is. I think Tony Gilroy gets can
get away with it too. Is you know they're being
(35:29):
an Enlightenment team, which is you know, a propaganda team,
which you know, very nineteen forties World War two stuff
with Germany, which you know the Empire is essentially about.
But we find out that they are going to stage
taking over the planet as it's a good thing that
oh we're benefiting the Empire, and that we are helping
the Emperor's energy initiative aka it's the death Star, but
(35:54):
they're an energy initiative if we're unlimited power, which Kranick
literally says, which is wild. But then we do cut
back and find out we are the engagement party for
mon Mathma's daughter Lidra, not Leah Liedra. We find out that,
you know, Mon's daughter is kind of skeptic. You know,
(36:14):
she's a little bit older than the man she's married,
the boy she's married. Really but while this is going on,
we see that man Mathma's friend, Tay, who is one
of the guys from the Crown, and one of the
Ice agents is from the Crown, So it's kind of
cool that I'm seeing that posit so more could see
them that he also was supposed to have a deal
(36:35):
with Mon Mathma last season, but it fell through with
this arranged marriage that he's now living divorced from his wife.
They don't say divorced, they see a part which is
probably Star Wars' way to do that, and Mon is like, hmmm,
this man has changed a little bit, which we see
by the end of episode three. Then we cut back
to the rebel brigade. Turns out they took all day
arguing over Cassie and they're not sure, like, oh, do
(36:58):
we trust him? Do we not? We can't fly the
ship without them, who should go? Who should stay? And
eventually it leads to some infighting where they have a
civil war with one another, because, let's face it, up
until really rogue one until Star Wars Rebels really happens,
which is a mountain aw ish. The Rebels are all
different sex and different organizations that don't interact with one another.
(37:22):
They don't play well with each other, and they don't
even play well with the people that are in their
sword sort of brigade. And it's not until you know,
we get them on math and we get a Haro,
we get you know, the rebels crew that they sort
of organize that we get a new Hope and so
on and so forth, Rebel alliance and then the Resistance
and all that good stuff. But they started in fighting.
(37:44):
We got to episode two, which was called segrona tima,
which we found out in Karelian means toast to your health.
We do find out we pick up immediately that casting
is still being held hostage by the brigade. But the
two groups, the two sides have posted up one on
the ship, one holding Cassian hostage. Turns out they're not
(38:08):
sure what's exactly going on. They all are fighting with
each other, fighting for food. One group has food that's moldy,
but one group has fruit that's not really good. And
they really just didn't talk to each other. Then get
ish going that they would be fine, Well this is
going on. We find out Dedra, our favorite ICB agent
from last season, was a sign the Gorman project. She
(38:28):
didn't want to do it, but she's in charge of it,
thinking of it as a gift. And we do find
out that Cyril, you know, our favorite mama's boy from
the first season, he is still at the Bureau of Standards.
He's pretty much running like he owns the place, kind
of treating like, hey, this might seem like a mundane job,
but I stopped this rebel cell from doing this based
on my work. It's like, okay, sure, sure. But we
(38:51):
do find out eventually, kind of summing up their episode
of for episode two, that Cyril and dedre live with
one another, and weventually confirmed in episode three dating one another,
which is wild. I don't remember. I mean, it was
always hinted in season one. I don't remember the full
extent of my memory, but it is wild to see
these two characters that like, you don't really like, but
(39:12):
they make a cute couple. Like she's fighting for him.
We'll talk about that episode three, but they work, I
guess on chorus on. But we do find out back
of the wedding. Luthan is there because he is delivering
a statue for his daughter's wedding. We find out that
parent Mon's wife, Amon's husband is jealous of Tay and
(39:33):
calls him Mon's lover. So it is interesting back and
forth there, like, oh, we need to figure out what's
going on because it ain't go work Mon MafA. They
are having a sort of wedding weekend. They have you know,
the welcome party, then they have the wedding hike which
is just for the family, then the rehearsal dinner, eventually
the wedding, which is episode three. But we find out
(39:55):
that Man is trying to talk to Tay to figure
out hey, like, do you still want to work with me?
And what can we do that you can take care
of this? And I'm still good because my wedding weekend.
And we're finding out slowly over these three episodes that
Man can't be in the shadows. She really does have
to get her hands dirty and can't be luthen doing
everything because eventually Lutheran's gonna say, f this, I can
(40:18):
do my own thing. I don't need your help, and
it can sell her out if he really wanted to
We do find on this episode, though, that Luthen and
Man have been debriefing kind of in the shadows just
of this wedding every time Mango's the bathroom or something,
and Paren does give a good wedding speech at the
rehearsal dinner, which which was a cool little moment. We
don't see a lot of weddings in Star Wars obviously
(40:39):
yet the secret wedding of Anakin in Padme. But besides that,
not a lot. I mean, Hana n Lea's thing was
off screen in a book if you want to go
read that. But the cool thing is because this is Coarelia,
I think let me mom, uh sorry, Sandrilla, there we go.
I knew it was one of them. Sandrilla is the
(41:02):
fictional planet that gave us the Galactic star Cruiser. So
if a lot of those things look familiar because you
watch YouTube videos, you actually went to the Star Wars hotel,
they might have reused some of the silverware and cutlery
and plates from that for this wedding, which is really cool.
There's a lot of touches through the wedding that are like, oh,
they did do that on the Galactic star Cruiser, so
(41:23):
kind of cool touches just kind of connected all even
though that's dead long gone and never coming back. Unfortunately,
it's okay, we'll never get to go. But we do
find out back on the planet with Bicks that she
Ambraso find out that Imperial Inspections are trying to, like
(41:44):
I said, do a head count on everybody, do a census,
and pretty much get rid of anybody who's not supposed
to be there, which is a little too real. They
do have a man on a friend who is helping
them out avoid Imperial inspections. He does give them a
pass that would get them out of town if they
can then come back eventually in episode three we find
(42:05):
out that doesn't work out at all pretty much, but
they do decide to pack up. The main sort of
caveat they have is that Will has fallen in love
with a farmer's girl, Beila, and we kind of know
where things are going. We do see also that they
do like a preliminary inspection that they pass originally that
(42:27):
we find out that the lieutenant he's crushing on Bicks
and Vix does pull the car, does know what's going
on and says, you know, my husband's away but he's
coming back and you're like, this Lieutenant's a creeper, and happens.
But we do come back to the rebel planet Cassie
and landed on. It turns out that everyone's just hating
(42:48):
on each other, but they do come to the agreement
that they agree to a challenge to settle things that
they'll play five hands Roski rules, which means total submission,
which now means Star Wars as a version of rock
paper scissors officially, so we'll learn that probably next time.
We go to Galaxa's Edge of the Summer this year
in Disney, but now scissors exist. While they're doing this challenge,
(43:13):
Cassing does find a hit and gun and breaks out
of custody, while we find out that one of the
creatures and happening on the planet breaks up the rock
paper Scissors match. All hell breaks loose, but Casting does
make it to the ship and leaves these fools to
themselves with this giant wildebeest thing that we didn't really
see because in the shadows. But this is the coolest
thing and is how episode two ended. We find out
(43:35):
as Casting is kind of doing that Star Wars hover
pull out and then fly away he was on the
Avin four, which is dope as hell, you know, you
having for the base of the rebels and Rogue one
for the most part, and obviously a New Hope. It
was cool. He just rows above and it was those
sort of forest mossy covered temple things, so just to see, hey, like,
(43:58):
we'll be back here and maybe you're too, because I knew,
you know, it's uninhabited, nobody knows about it, you know,
Empire knows about it until a New Hope. But it
was really cool. Cool end episode two. I do kind
of wish that ending maybe reverse with episode three, just
because episode three is ending wasn't the strongest compared to that,
But that's okay. But we cut to episode three, which
(44:20):
is called Harvest. We do get a in the recap,
which is why I watched it, but Mon's agreement for
her daughter's arranged marriage is mostly kind of out of
getting money table to fund her part of the rebellion
and everything she's doing in a secret But we find
out Cassian is floating in space. He's trying to make
contact to figure out what his next steps are with
(44:41):
Luthen's assistant, and I'm not really sure what's going on.
He does eventually contact that assistant. Cassian rants about how
the job wasn't what he signed up for. Luthan says, well,
you can't make any contact to Bis, and Cassian says what.
Bealey hangs up and hyper speeds back to where Bis
is at. We'll get that in a little bit.
Speaker 3 (45:02):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
We do cut to on the planet be too. Emo
is playing with a girl with Bocaster, which I meanly
you know that gun. You're like, oh, Chewbacca, there wasn't
a scene to a girl playing with an ATS t
which is really wild to think that, Like she's playing
with a toy we all think is the bad guy.
But you got to think about, oh, we kind of
do that now with with you know, army toys and
(45:24):
g I. Joe's and stuff like that to a degree
a little bit, which is which is wild. It's wild
to think about that Star Wars terms like that. But
we do find out, like I said, Brasso does have
that temporary pass to get out and avoid the Imperial inspection.
But we find out, unfortunately, as they're shutting down shop,
that the Imperials came early that they have decided to
(45:45):
investigate their section of town and in doing so, they
do drop off be too Emo with another person, so
b to you, one just keeps getting dropped Unfortunately, end
by end reminded me of a Cat and Garfield, but
we find out as Casting arrives home in Orbit, the
Imps show up to question bix it in stormtroopers fine
(46:07):
Broso sneaking around, so they arrest him, all the while
while Will is trying to avoid being caught. Unfortunately, that
Imperial lieutenant knows Bis is illegally on the planet and
that's when the creepo vibes start. This was an interesting
scene I know a lot of people are talking about too.
Essentially is a very aggressive situation that happens, but I
(46:30):
did like that she was ultimately able to overcome him
and she decides to smack him with a metal tool
multiple times. He stumbles out of the cabin and dies essentially,
which was great. I love that she got that vengeance
on him. But eventually this separates the Imperials guarding Brasso
(46:51):
to go to bix. Casting does show up just the
nick of time, and the tie a vendor ship blows
them fools and straight to Hell, which is great, but
unfortunately only he arrives a little too late because Brasso
unfortunately shot down, and you're like, oh, man, like he
was kind of like your older brother, even though he
wasn't really related to you, and he kind of was
(47:12):
really the han solo grounding of the group of keeping
everyone going, making sure we're all good, getting us for
point A to point B, and making sure we survive.
Now that's gone, and I think it really is what
we're gonna see the next couple episodes batches of episodes
is Cassie and going from like I have a family
to like I'm by myself. All I got is k Twoso,
which we'll get eventually in these batches of episodes too.
(47:35):
But they do escape the planet, even though they left
B two Emo behind. We'll figure that out one day
with BE two Emo. But we do cut over back
to Chandrilla and it is the Mathma wedding of the
century of the Galaxy because we find out Mon is
talking to Lida, her daughter before the wedding, kind of
(47:55):
the mother daughter moment, telling her, you know, we can
put the wedding off if you really want to. You know,
Mon does say, you know, on my wedding day, my
mother was drunk and Lida says, you know, I wish
you were drunk, because she still wants to get married.
And we see this cool, really cool wedding, very ceremonial
type of wedding, which is really cool, and it's in
(48:17):
the middle of the wedding. It is cool that Leita
does have like a Padawan braid, but in Chindrilla it
is a marriage braid that you grow it out until
we get married, and your husband supposedly chops off that
strand of hair. Very reminiscent you know, Padawans and Jedis,
which is really cool. We do find out eventually here
that Lufen's statue gets revealed at the wedding. It is
(48:41):
a statue that was long forgotten, but he brought it back.
Luthan does talk to a guy from Naboo who actually
will end up being one of Mam Mathma's guards in
Star Wars Rebels. So it is a cool little connection
there if you pay attention. And we're starting to get
sort of sketchy vibes from Mom's friend at the end
of this wedding because he's drunk all the time. Obviously
(49:01):
his wife's separated from him, and it turns out, you know,
he tells Mon himself like, hey, like, I need to
tell you something, but we need to talk because what
we kind of been doing, I don't know we can
help help out anymore. We'll talk about next week. Mon
obviously tells Luthan to debrief on Tay. Luthen says, you
need to handle it, your part of this, and Luthan
(49:24):
unfortunately handles it his own way and gets one of
his sort of in network spies from last season to
be the new driver for Tay at the end of
this episode, most likely probably going to kill Ty to
a degree, but in doing so. Eventually Mon does talk,
does come back to the wedding, and this is really
(49:46):
cool where a DJ robot DJ drone pops out of nowhere.
Probably the coolest bit of Star Wars music you'll get
it is house DJ music in Star Wars electric and
DJ rumbap, but make it Star Wars essentially. And Mon's
dance in the Pain Away, you know, dance obviously being
very form of rebellion and revolution. Look at you know footloose.
(50:07):
That's the thing. The power of dance is what saved
that town, right, But really Mon kind of coming her
own realizing that like this is my bit of like
be myself enjoyed dance because things aren't gonna get easier
from here, and I'm really gonna have to go all
in on this. It was weird just to have that
going on while all the sad stuff with Brasa was happening.
(50:29):
But it was good music. I'll say that and also
shout out. We find out in this episode that Cyril
and Dedre are hosting dinner for Cyril's mom, who who
was a I don't know if it was a delight
last season, but she was a highlight of last season.
Like man, he is whipped by his mom, but it
is ultimately Cyril or sorry, it is Dedra that puts
Cyril's mom in place, which is great. You gotta do
(50:52):
that relationship. It's about YouTube and then your mom's there.
You know she can have fun and hang out with
you guys, but you know it's YouTube erst. But eventually
this does lead to Cerro's mom kind of correcting herself
and acting under Dedre's law, which which is great. We
do have a great line where Cyril's mom roast him
initially the beginning and he said, excuse me. Dedre does
(51:13):
give his mom the talking to Cyril laid on the
bed face down and be like, oh I hate displays.
It was very like too real, you get it. It's
happened sometimes a family, but like their relationships kind of blossoming,
and he'll be in to see how where they go
because it is an imperial relationship most mostly so like
(51:34):
do we root for them because they are the bad guys?
Will ultimately, if we're focusing all these characters, they will
maybe go to rebellion, which happened a lot. I mean
happened at Star Wars rebels all the time, so maybe
I mean it could happen someone in ib Probably not,
but it was fun to watch overall. But that's where
the episodes kind of ended for this week overall, really
(51:57):
enjoyed them. I do hope the momentum keep going. I
think it will be interesting just with all these three batches.
Like I said at the beginning of the indoor talk,
will we remember this all by the time you know,
May twentieth happens and it's done because it's a lot
one short pack time, but who knows. That's why we
take notes, right, But that does it for us on
this podcast today. You know, we had a great time
(52:19):
talking about some trailers, talking about some and Or and
Donor because next week, who we got a doozy for
you baby, because we will be getting you ready for
Thunderbolts next week. Yeah, that's why Thunderbolts comes out next
week y'all. Next Friday, we might be seeing a little
early TVD. We'll find out about that soon, but keep
your ears and eyes locked. I guess I don't know
(52:41):
at inf and underscore pods or twitch dot tv, slash
infan unscore podsay anything with YouTube as well. But Kevin
will be back on Monday's episode. We'll be breaking down
some last of us. We'll be talking about We'll be
talking about just it's kind of the things you need
to know for Thunderbolts, getting you ready for that, and
just sort of the summer ahead of movies because come
(53:04):
next week it is who we are off to the
moons when it comes to the movies. But I do
appreciate Yang out of me. I know it is a
solo dolo day, but you know, if we can't do
it ourselves, we can't do it together. I guess I
don't know, but it is an honor to hang out
with you guys. Also Yeah, that was the other thing
completely forgot about. Thank you any Dragon. Revenge of the
Sith is in theaters were releasing this weekend, so we
(53:26):
will be talking about that on Monday. Because your boy
is taking his brother technically brother John's brother in law,
so I don't know what that makes him to me
and one of my brother's best friends. We are seeing
it in forty X this week, and I know Aaron
Giles is seeing it in forty X as well. If
you have the option, go see it. I know Gallery
Place has it in DC, and there's two theaters I
(53:49):
think in Frederick and kind of near Frederick that the
seats will move and how the splashing effects. I'll have
the review for that on Monday. I'm excited to sell
because gonna watch a Tackle Clones and make more and
watch the Tackle Clones on Saturday and be ready to
go and excited. And this is where the fun begins.
That's all I'm saying. But have a great week. We'll
be back on Monday talking about all that good stuff
(54:11):
and more. And as always, my name is Hoodie. Teddy's
left the room because he had to be walked, and
you just officially listened to the first and or episode
of What Myself Well, that would be Crisis on Infinite
Podcasts should be too emo, yo,
