Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome back to the nerdy news you need to know
throughout the week on iHeartRadio and bad.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Cast services around the world. Because my name's Hoddy Kevin,
and you're officially listening to this Captain America film episode
what cav Crisis on.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Mine's right day? Here we go, it's there we go.
That that's Sam Wilson's shield. Do you have Steve Rodgers shield?
There you go, there you go, there you go.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
But we got a jam packed show for you today.
As you can see in the title, we're talking all
things Captain America Brave New World, including our review of
the movie what a special someone got to do with
some certain cast members of said movie. And you know
where did you keep them? Goodness going? Talking about a
Twisted Metal two trailer because they said, Hey, we're going

(01:03):
all in on Anthony Mackie this week.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I saidn't mean watch the rest season one. Only watched
person it's.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Good, like it's funny because we'll talk about the trailer.
But I saw that the trailer came out and watched it.
I was like, man, Season one was like a sleeper
hit where it was like a little rough to start,
but then I really got into going, Yeah, I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
It was something going on in my life at the time.
It wasn't that crazy. It was just like busy.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I think there was a lot of other shows going
on too. I think you know what.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
It was dance season. That's what it was. That was
the week when I came out. It was my daughter
had had a dance for the end of the weekend.
It was like rehearsal every day.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
It was nuts. That's what happens. Yes, Kevin pays attention
to his daughter dancing. Good, good on him. You know
all that. But you can see everything we're going about
to talk today so much more by going at infinite
Underscore pods on Instagram, d x go and give it
to you or keV. Where can people that may be

(01:55):
listen to this podcast religiously on the Mondays and the
Thursdays that come out, Where can they go to watch
us or maybe see our beautiful faces when we're recording
the episode a TV.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Slash if the Underscore posts to watch us live twice
a week, joining in the chat and talk right to
us while recording the show. Or you can go to
YouTube dot com slash if the Underscore Polese to watch
us on the man Afrono Lesion and that's where you
can check out a cool interview one of us.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Kevin pointed, my my camera is opposite of Kevin. So
when Kevin points it this way, I'm like, where are
you pointing? Point? Yeah, there you go. Everyone's covered. Everyone's covered.
But we'll talk about that in a little bit. It's
it's been a fun week. We will say that regardless,
it's been busy week at the same time. Yeah, which
is why we always study podcast properly. With something we

(02:43):
like to call what you're doing? Where we talking to me?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
What?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Where we talking about the shows and movies. We've been
watching games, We've been playing lives, we've been living La
Night who is actually in DC right now. He was
at the Wizards game last night and found out cool.
H Yeah, we talked about all that fun stuff and yeah,
busy week because it is Thursday. Yeah, boy gets to

(03:07):
go first. Happy to say that. Yeah, it's been a
real busy week since Monday. I'll tell you that for sure. Obviously,
the snow happened, which you probably dealt with if you
listen to this podcast, you listen to the DMV area. It
was like, oh, we either have four inches of snow
or here's a whole foot of snow. Kevin, what did
you get?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
We got about four inches on TV Hill Baltimore. I
think they said three inches basically in the city.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah, so it's just wherever you were. Apparently the farther
nerve you were, the less snow you got. That doesn't
make sense, but sure, but we dealt with that, and
in doing so, Kevin and I we're gonna talk about
the movie obviously in a little bit in more of
what we detail the theater review for the movie as well.
Had to make a little snow track up to Silver

(03:55):
Spring Regal Silver Spring to go watch Captain America Brave
New World. And it was real bad. The roads are
real bad. Tuesday like it was okay and then just
bad all of a sudden, it was funny.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
And when I parked and walked into walk walk to
the walk to the theater if because wait, downtown was
bringing set up, it felt like a movie.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah, it was like, it's nice the chick fil A
is closed, but that's okay. I don't know they were
gutting that chick fil A with there like digging down.
I don't know what they'd be real close. But yeah,
so that was fun if you didn't know. One of
the kind of the things with the radio at least

(04:38):
is if you work in morning drive or morning a
morning show like your boy does, and Kevin used to,
you have to be at the station early in the morning.
But because you have to be there early in the morning, yeah,
probably got to sleep close to the station. So they
usually put us in hotels. So they did a notorious city.
There's a hotel near the iHeart radio station where you
know hot and DC one one and wash the fmoir

(04:59):
that uh, it ain't the best. And Kevin, I'm gonna
tell you, my TV would not turn off and I
did not. It was like I tried to, like I
couldn't plug it, but I was like, well, I don't know,
I'm gonna forget and I'm gonna get charged an incidental
that they have to plug it back in or whatever.
But the remote did not work and I was like,
it can't change the batteries, couldn't change the voll like

(05:22):
I could change the volume the mute, but that was it.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
And this is this is the one across the street
on next door.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Next door, Yes, oh yeah, that one sucks. Yeah, but
so that was interesting. Person who checked in before me,
who works at our at the station, Uh they told her,
uh yeah, your reservation was for the previous night, not
to night when the snow happened. I was like, oh,
that's uncle. Go well that is not gonna go well
if you do that.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Oh my god. Yeah, because those things usually handled well
in advance, and when you check in this he's get
an email. Hey here's a hotel. Oh yeah, okay, thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah. But yeah. So that was my version of the
snow Tablehod Kevin's a little bit. But Wednesday, yesterday, as
this podcast recording was, turned out to be a really
good day, was really nervous. Your boy, for the first
time in a while, got to do a face to
face interview with Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez Falcon with

(06:18):
the Captain America and Falcon and the director of Captain America,
braveryml Julius Ona. I'm gonna pop. If you want to
see what it looks like you're watching the video version
of the podcast, don't worry, I got your Baby's gonna
pop it over here in the background. But it was
really cool because your boy and mister ic V got
to do it. Tag team. Eric did some color commentary,
Your boy had the questions and it was it was awesome.

(06:40):
You know, got got put in the waiting room like
I don't know what's gonna happen. Hopefully it's good. And
the thing that started off great was that Danny Ramirez
saw that Eric was Latino. I was like, all right,
we're good. We got at least one of them. We're good.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Did see anybody usual at the screenings?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
We were the we So originally we were supposed to
be I think the first or second interview of the day,
but because we had a last second meeting that was
really mandatory, we were the last interview for the day.
So say what you will, but kind of a media
thing is you want to be the first one usually
just because you get them spry, ready to go, whereas

(07:21):
last one is also a good one too, because at
the end of the day they're a little loose. They
don't really care as much about their answers, which worked
for our benefit, but sometimes maybe they don't want to
be there. They're just like quick answer you. Our interview
was supposed to be eight minutes. We got sixteen minutes
out of them, which is great. Obviously we were the
last one so that probably helped too. And I saw
the wrap it up guy. He wrapped it up three

(07:43):
times and my I was like, I'm not talking right now,
it's them talking. You gotta tell them wrap it up.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I'm just a question.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I'm just I answered my question three minutes ago. They're
still going, So.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
That's cool and the funny say the thing to think
about not wanting to be there because I remember when
we went to Vegas, Chelotte Flair did not want to
be there.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Which I am gonna I don't know if we ever
posted those. If we did, I'm gonna re up them
again or repost them again. If you didn't, I'll post
them because that's Kevin is prime right there. You want
to talk about Kevin interview skills, no hoodie hoodies, just
filming on his iPhone and just having Kevin go to town.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
That was That was a fun time. And that's when
Dave melts a big time. I'll never Oh God, they
tell that story and I'm not less angry about it.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Well, it was in that same in one of those
interviews we already do we just talked about. But yeah,
the interview was really great. A lot of good questions there.
We have to talk about Kendrick Lamar. We talked about
happy meals and things they collect and a lot of
good stuff. So if you want to check it out
at INFID, underscore pods, anywhere on social media really and

(08:56):
I'll be posting clips across all of social media is
the next couple of days. So if you don't want
to sit down for a fifteen minute interview, don't worry.
I got about ten clips out of the interview that
you can watch and be entertained by Anthony Mackie responding
to us essentially, and Julius ownA and Danny Ramirez.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Can talk more about. Also the happy meals I got.
I didn't got to get that part yet because happy
meal inflation is something we need, we need to talk
about one day, because when we were kids, you were
told with sometimes our parents and have happy meal money.
Then you grow up and realized when we were kids,
happy meals were down ninety nine, we didn't well.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
And also in twenty twenty five, you can just outright
just buy the toy. You don't even have to buy
buy happy meal anymore. So that's true.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
But I'm like we didn't have. Then sometime they want,
say niney nine cents, we didn't have ninety nine cents
to give me a murder a small fry and in
a high sea orange.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Come on, man, yeah, but just do ourselves a favor
and just watch the interview. Apparently thirty seconds counts as
of you on YouTube to check it out there, wait
for the clips. We really want this the blow up,
so hopefully we can get more and hopefully next time
I can tag team Eric out for Kevin. And we'll
have to negotiate that red tape. But we'll get there
and get there. That's a lot of red tape.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Here's what you do. You put it on your phone
when you go to sleep, You hold you long press
the video, put nothing on loop and go to sleep.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Let that bad boy play on the TV, especially because
it counts as a new view every time.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
You put you downstairs TV or TV to go to.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Sleep, and just let it go exactly exactly. And Kevin,
if we can't pass the red tape, I'll just ask an.
Ai'd be like, put Kevin next to me. Here's the chair,
put him in that chair. Kevin was asking any question
at all, but he's there friend, Kevin, was real scared
the whole time. For some reason, you ask any questions
at all. But since then, that's pretty much what I've

(10:42):
been doing, Kevin. What have you been doing? Good, sir?

Speaker 2 (10:46):
So to go back to your snow conversation. First, like
you said, it was okay, and it was just bad
sudden so as bad as a ride there for me was,
the ride back was treacherous, and there I say sketchy.
So to get from Silver Spring to Baltimore, I take
twenty nine north. This is a direct pretty much a
direct route from my house, twenty nine basically, and then

(11:09):
twenty nine goes through Baltimore County, Howard County, Montgomery County.
When I was coming back from Montgomery County on twenty
nine number one, there was inch and a halfy two
inches of snow highway the whole time, and I'm just
doing forty at the super all well drive and as
long as I don't overdo it, I usually get steady
traction as I'm going along until the bus came by it.

(11:31):
So on the Spring store, why why are you even
out here somewhere?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Why? Why?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
But once you crossed the line from Montgomery County to
Howard County. Apparently there was a down wire across twenty
nine North. No big deal, So I had to detour
go down to Old Columbia Pike, which is the old
twenty nine basically until I ran into that same down
wire from where it started at.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Basically going back saw the path of electricity essentially so
that the cop let us go under it because it
was it was hanging in a way kind of Renova
you can get through a door. But the sad part
about it is once I got to the other side
of twenty nine where it wasn't shut down anymore, it
was just dark.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Because there were no powers. It was the most sketchy
ride I've ever done in my life. I'm just like, man,
if I die for this movie.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
I mean, what a way to go? You know, we
don't go see a movie Kevin died. But I got
to interview cats in America. The sacrifices we have to make,
you know.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
So it was it was a white knuckle ride from
from Silver Spring to back to Baltimore. Once I got
to the Baltimore County side of I seventy, that's when
it's it's actually the road out here. There we go now, we.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Can be there are roads where we're going here, I
see exactly.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
So that was that part. Other than that, it wasn't
that bad. And other than that, since the since the movie,
I haven't really don't do anything. Still going through mass
Effect three. I'm kind of going through a lower hyperfixational
mas EFEC three right now too.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
I'm just praying we get one maybe Summer Games Fest
this year, we get a trailer for you, and then
you're just off the moon on ope, what's this? This
that that that boom boom boom. We're good to go
for like six months.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I feel like Leah will be in middle school when
Mass effects working. That's why I'm feeling right now. Could
they been talking about it?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Right?

Speaker 2 (13:24):
So? Yeah, I've been watching a lot of lore videos about,
you know, what could have been happened, what it actually happened,
whether the so of l DLC was actually purgatory, a
lot of really cool questioning stuff about mass effect, and
then other than that, just containing my rage and what
people are saying about Captain America. And I'm like, you guys,

(13:44):
take these things seriously.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
We will get to that. Yeah, in a hot second,
something's wrong with my microphone hold on real quick and
all right, there we go. Cool. Uh you know what,
that's what it was. It's always a false move on
the headset and all of a sudden it happens. You'll move,
You'll move. Well, Kevin, you ready to get on into
it because it's pretty jam packed today.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Let's get onto it. It is time for the New
It's talk. All right. First things first, let's talk about
your friendly neighborhood Spider Man Foot Foot Baby. So we're

(14:32):
gonna leave Captain America Bravery World's review until the end
of the podcast. That way, if you haven't watched it
yet or you're waiting, you can listen to the podcast
and enjoy it for like thirty thirty five minutes, then
pose it and hang out with us for the next
thirty thirty five minutes about Captain America, Brave New World
still work. We're gonna talk about that. But we're gonna
talk about the Spider Man Show because that came out yesterday,
so we've had a day to watch it.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Essentially, Yeah, if you had twenty four hours, no excuses.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
No excuses, no excuse. But we had episodes six, seven,
and eight to this week, next week, we have episodes
nine and ten that we're done. Like, that's how wild
it is with Spider Man.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, I was watching this year episode. I'm like, they're
actually getting to it. Oh thats right because we're done
next week. That's why.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah. Like really with these three episodes, you're like there
is a rising plot and then oh there's the there's
the climax technically like, oh okay, I see where we're going.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Now, I see what's happening now, got it?

Speaker 1 (15:25):
But Kevin, uh, what are your thoughts? We'll kind of
go spoilery a little bit with this of these three episodes,
like did you like them? You're still vibe on this show.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
I will say that maybe I was wrong and you
should release animated episodes one a week because I didn't
feel like the plot drawl because we've kind of got
everything comp last three weeks, so it's kind of described
and be like, oh, oh this is it next week?

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Is it? Oh?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Shoot, okay, I'm kind of push your mind up. Other
than that, though I really enjoyed them. My only complaint
would be I didn't like to just a quick cameo
iron Man because he's a little more Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Man, they're there these three have a lot of came
say that for sure.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Dane Cameo was pretty cool. I like I like that
a lot. But all in all, I kind of like
the because in this what was it? The third one?
The second one, and the third one kind of explored
relationship between between crap what's.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
His name, uh, Pete, Lonnie No Spider Man's best friend,
Nico Nico and.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Osborne, like kind of exploring their relationship outside of Peter.
I like that a lot. That that's pretty interesting how
I got kind of pretty much got to be really
good friends. And then Peter finally figured around that you
know Osbourne, I was going to Osbourne?

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Well what and that that's the thing really is I
think a lot. I think it's situational irony quote literate
literature and English class from like seventh and eighth grade
is or the audience knows what's going on, but the
characters don't. We're all like, oh, he's gonna be bad,
and Pete, know what are you doing? And then all
of a sudden like okay, thank god Harry was here.

(17:11):
Yeah they got Harry came into that.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
But it kind of saw of it because when he
was like getting his tail head beat in and he's like, where's.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Okay? Love you too?

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Please help me.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Yeah, I've been enjoying. I think, really these episode has
been great. I think I reiterate what Kevin said, it's
a great thing to have a lot of something really good,
but it's too quick. But then you're like, wait, no,
I want more. But I feel like maybe if they
did two episodes a week instead of this these weird three.
I think it is mostly a timing thing more than

(17:51):
anything with whatever else Disney Plus is coming out in March,
which Daredevil, Yeah to time that out and Daredevil time
out most likely Connerabolts, I think probably and and or
somewhere around there timeline wise, sure, But I think if
this was two episodes a week, I think you'd be

(18:12):
able to savor it or enjoy it a little more
instead of be like what oh whoa okay, yeah, we're
kind of wrapping up things next week, all right.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
But still, I think the creators have did a great
job of building all the characters in this, because, say,
for Peter and and Peter, the Osbourne's and May everybody
else's kind of new. We've never seen Lonnie Kate Tombstone
in this faction before, so whenever the turn does happen,
it's going to be a real hard turn.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, job of that. But to kind of go episode
beat by beat, you know, Episode six is Duel with
the Devil. It's the Daredevil episode, which was dope. I
think the coolest thing with this is the cameos are
the MCU theme or the MCU themes if they're Devil now,
So that way when Daredevil does show up, which I

(19:04):
thought was gonna be the whole episode, but it was
like a three minute fight. But it was a glorious
three minute fight. You know what I'm saying. He it
is him popping up And is that Netflix theme that
thank god the f c U still has because it
slaps even an animate for him.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I have the Daredevil and the Luke Cage themes on
my on my song playlist on my phone.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Hell yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
But you know, we're kind of in this MCU adjacent
universe where you know, Steve is missing at the end
of Civil War, which was what happened in you know,
the MCU Thunderbolt Ross is out of charity dinner with
Norman Osborne and you're like, oh, that's that's what Thunderroll
Botonderbolt Ross should look like okay, but you know, it's
all good. It's all good. But then with you know,

(19:49):
Charlie Cox in like the reddish black Daredevil suit. The
fight animation looked real good during that fight in that episode.
And this is where you know, we find out about
Auto Octavious a little bit more, and we start to
see Norman trying starting to gas like Peter a little
bit into like, you know, Daredevil isn't a good guy.
You know, he's a bad guy. He's a menace, you know,

(20:10):
not those words, but all that guy, all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
And then we also find out I think it's in
this episode, Nico finds out that Pete is Spider Man
because Harry accidentally spills the beans.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
So guy, see, he clearly means well, but he has
no social skills whatsoever.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Well, he hasn't hung out with real people, just with celebrities.
It don't really talk.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Still, I mean, you have a butler. I guess, I
don't know he has. It's just the level of non
social skills he has.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
It's just amazing.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
But then we also see that Mark Gargan does get
it quicked with the scorpion gearbo out Octavius, which leads
to episode seven, Scorpion Rising. Nico still pissed about Pete
about Spider Man, but eventually Harry does show up at
Nico kind of wrap that pot up part up to
hang out with her. At first, I was like, they're
gonna go on a date right now, and it's typical Harry.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
You know.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
But you know, Harry does take her out to get
pizza to sort of show his side of why he
told her about Pete, to kind of reconcile things. They
do eventually get in the street race where Zach Cherry,
you know from Severance Dylan cameos again. It was like, man,
do a flip spot man to now being in like
the top show right now in America.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
You know, thank guys everywhere like Roy.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Camp every every two days, you get you a glimpse
of him. But they race, they bond, which is really great.
They're kind of on equal footing, which is great. But
we do see, you know, Lant kind of the downfall
of Lonnie again. He's been kicked off the football team.
He's pretty much absent at school, and he does kind
of bond with one hundred and tenth Street Gang more.

(21:54):
But in the detriment. You know, he's lying to his
mom about the gang. Pearl kind of knows what's going on.
In this episode, she does show up to the to
the wuarehouse Causelanie's brother snitches on him, and she gets
caught in the crosshair because Scorpion shows up in the
tail and it's just reckon shop. He stabs a dude
and you're like, oh, I didn't know we could do
this in this animated show.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
It's me mad because he had he had an out.
I mean he was in there with the entire one
hundred and tenth Street gang. Hey, officers here they are
that easy.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
But eventually we do see Nico's amulet power up while
she's driving Harry. So that's a cool little and we'll
see that later probably season two, and she comes into
her own and her powers. But Spidery shows up. It's
Pete versus Scorpion. During the fight, Pete does run out
of web fluid. Scorpion like overheats. I'm thinking that's how
he's like fused to the suit to degree or something

(22:51):
like that. While all this is going on, Norman is
the guy is the dude in the chair or whatever.
It's called now because he's helping Pete figure out what's
going on. But he thinks the fight's over, ditches the
little bluetooth headset. He look for Auto. Uh, looking for
six hundred and sixteen gamma clusters, which was you know,

(23:11):
just six one six. You're like, okay, love it, but
Pete gets stabbed. Norman finds Auto, but at the same
time realize what's going on after his alert on Pete
is dying. Alarm goes on, which is a great alarm
to have. I'll tell you he's dying. He's dying, Well,
we should we should fix that, but Norman says he'll
handle it. All of a sudden, we hear the weird

(23:33):
screech and it is the glider. The form of the
glider comes in, causes chaos and gets Pete out of
the warehouse fight with Scorpion.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
I was hoping like the glad was going to shoot
like a pumpkin bomb out.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
You're like, what the hell way, But it's like not
a pumpkin and just a normal bomb. It's like, Oh,
he really really loves Halloween over there. He really really
loves pumpkin pie.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Halloween is the greatest of him.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
It is and then we got an episode eight Tangled Web.
The interesting thing, I don't know if it was I
think they used it too early, but the little comic
title sequence was he dumping the suit and walking away,
which is kind of an iconic Spider Man thing. I mean,
that was what Spider Man two is pretty much based on. Yeah,
I might have misfired on that one a little bit.
That's totally okay. But Pete wakes up in on Score

(24:21):
hospital his suit's been total total that Norman says, you know,
you gotta get better for me to work with you,
kind of like I am a reward for you being
not a better man, but mainly a better hero in
this case, but more a better fighter and soldier.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Kind of we got the we got the line in
this episode. It wasn't that we thought we would have get.
It was Peter, with great power comes great respect.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
And you're like oh, and you're like, oh, okay. But
this this episode especially got a lot of the vibes
of like, we're reminiscing you of scenes that have happened
in the MCU, especially a lot in like Spider Man
Homecoming or essentially Pete gets home after being injured. May

(25:10):
notices his injuries and they kind of have the talk
of Pete losing the suit kind of in Spider Man Homecoming,
of like May being concerned about I wanting to what's
best for him and him to like stay out of everything,
which I thought was really great because later on we
do get you know, with the great power comes great respecting.
And it is kind of mimicking Tony Stark's scene with

(25:31):
Pete when he says, you don't deserve the suit, like
if you can't live without the suit, you don't deserve it.
Norman says something similar where like if you have to
ask how to become better, you can't become better, like
oh my, and then we have that that line like, oh, okay,
well Norman is. Don't forget Norman's evil even though he's good.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Right now, you know, Norman's a horrible He's a horrible mentor.
I can't say what kind of Fothering is because we
all played trona man too. He didn't laugh for her
son to keep him alive, of course, but man, he's
not a good mentor at all.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Now. But while this is all going on, we do
see Auto's lab gets rated by Swat turns out Auto
does have his hands on vibranium, so another connection to Wakanda.
But the SWAT team arives and all of a sudden,
all the the doc oc tentacles are just all throughout
the lab. You're like, whoa, whoa. And at the end

(26:24):
of the scene, I'm expecting him to put put him
on and just walk out of there. He doesn't too. Yeah,
that's okay, we'll get there. Budge a little tease because
then Thunderbolt Ross warms in with more troops and we
get Iron Man coming in. We get the Avengers theme,
which is dope as hell, but it is that sort
of old school looking vibe of nineteen seventies through two

(26:45):
thousand and seven Iron Man where it is yellow legs. Yeah,
and it is the knockoff Tony Stark voice that they
using everything.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
You know, it was called back to the scene of
Iron Man stating camp and Avengers who just goes you know, Ross, Tony,
that was it.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
That was it.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
But I think cool. I don't know if we need them,
but it's cool just to see these things exist. It's
kind of like that's a couple of scenes in X
Men ninety seven where he's like, oh, that's Pete and
Mary Jane in X Men ninety seven universe and stuff
like that.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
That warn't my heart because it's if you watch Spider
Man MA series. He wasn't in the last season because
the Mary Janney thought about Mary Jane melt it because.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
It's that iconic. It's that iconic tiktoking.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
No, but he foun out his married Jane eventually, oh
maybe maybe, maybe happy.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
But Pete, we've cut back to Pete. He's trying to
call Nico, just you know, just to reconcile things. We
don't hear anything. He does get a call from Pearl
about their project. Lonnie. Well they're well, Pete and Pearl
working on the school project. Lonnie shows up, tries to apologize.
They end up breaking up. Pete tries to talk to
Lonnie doesn't listen. That's where he meets with Norman, and

(27:57):
this is where we find out the one hundred and
tenth Street Gang with Biggie as Bulldozer, the kind of
like lieutenant the second in command, which is real dope.
They meet with a chameleon and that was really dope
because it wasn't known not a chameleon superpowered that had
the weird face. It was the guy from the Russian
gang from the Unicorn episode was the Chameleon and he
just had this mass so that way people didn't recognize

(28:19):
them in public.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Really really cool touch and really cool callback because I mean,
obviously the other guy's gonna be Rhino eventually.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
The well, it's supposed to be the dad of Rhino,
so I don't know that they're going to do that,
but it's all things and another lady I know who
she becomes.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah, maybe silver Stable, but I don't know.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
We'll find out. I wouldn't put it past we get
a silver Stable and black Cat though at the rate
we're going. But then that happens with the one hundred
and tenth Street Gang most likely Medionauto in the next
two episodes, and we find out Spidery has to needs
to do. What Spider Man needs to do should be
up to Pete, is what Harry tells. Pete shows him
he made the doodle suit on a blue and red suit,

(29:01):
and we get the I think it's the cool I
don't know if it's a comic pane or not, but
it is Pete. And then Spider Man in the one
glass I thing, which is really cool. And then yeah,
next week we're to get him full suit and see
what happens with Auto and Scorpions revenge and all that
kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Yeah, because they definitely put a lot of villains on
the board that are still on the board and nothing
nobody's it took Auto away, but obviously get out.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yeah, I think this really you know, this is Spider
Man year one. And then you're gonna see, you know,
here's the rhino. Here is doc Oc with the tentacles
on his back. Here Scorpion with the full get up,
you know, in the next season.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
And also the what it started for the first episode
with was was you know doctor Strange fro another the
world coming through a portal. So there's something else is.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Oh yeah we got the symbiot was there just one day?
We'll get there.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
You know, it's a nothing we talked about it. What
happened with all that?

Speaker 1 (29:53):
That's still don't you worry about? Don't you worry about?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Baby?

Speaker 1 (29:56):
But no, if you haven't watched it, definitely check it out.
They're they're quick episodes too, like we take notes a
little longer, but once you're in it, you're in it,
and you're like, oh, that was. That was good.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
It's kind of like seven watch you lock in and like, dang, it's.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Over already, think what we talking about? Also, what we
talking about? Invincible on Monday? So, uh, the Tiger Guy's
back to tease you. So if you need incentive to
watch Invincible, Tiger guys back season one. It was the
whole thing and he's back now. So we're excited. But
Kevin something we're also excited for. We need to head
on over to Reaction Theater because you know, you boy

(30:32):
got to interview Anthony Mackie this week. Well, it turns
out it's the Week of Mackie because not on top
of you know, interviewing yours with Yours truly and having
a movie Captain America Brave New Road come out this week,
we also got the trailer finally for Twisted Metal season two.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
This makes me happy because usually shows like this don't
get second season.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
They get one and tease and nothing's ever to come
after that.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I see shows like this, I mean shows that are
mostly enjoyed, but not overwhelmingly you know sphear casting. Yeah,
kind of like you know around Friday at what you say,
like clou thirty, you're entire to talk for it's gonna
be severs because it's how it works. Yes, no kind
of show, but it was still a really.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Good summary under the radar, you know, until like the
last two episodes exactly.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
So I'm happy I have to see this Anthony Macky
and my boy.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Uh Joe. But let's get onto it, don't talk about it,
and see what happens, what's to come in season two? Ready, keV,
let's do it one A two three.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
The name is John Doe.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Hell yeah, Sam Wilson.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Until a year ago, my life on the road was
pretty routine.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
I met a drifter Stephanie Patris. We picked up a
clown along the way, Joe, but the joy ride is over.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
It's a tournament.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah, death rates and every lass driver.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
That gets in my way, no pressure or anything, Okay,

(32:29):
And I.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Invite you to know Joe. Yeah really dope. So Kevin,
did you didn't want? Did you finish season one episode one?

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Oh? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:47):
I think you need to lock in on that one because,
like like I said, it's a slow burn at first,
but then like once you know the characters, it's a
good time. And like you said, if Peacock's renewing it.
There's gotta be some like there they see that people
want to watch it, you know.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Oh yeah, I'm familiar with the video game. So like
the last shot was Axel.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
He's the guy that literally just is in a big
old t POS driving.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Calypso looks as creepy as he does on a game.
And this is this is this is giving me you know,
late nineties, early two thousands on my PS two vibes
like I really like this. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
I think really with a lot of video game shows,
you kind of have to find the right balance of
adapting it but also keeping it the same source material.
And I think obviously they have to adapt Twisted Metal
and that it can't be you know, what the video
game is. But I think season two they're gonna lean
more into being the video game. I think obviously with

(33:43):
the characters there's a form of a death race or
something similar to that that I think that's where people
are really going to fall in love with it, like
we do with Fallout in Our in Ourcane and The
Last of Us.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah, because because I feel like of all the video
game show that's come out recently, I feel like Fallout
it should be the model Fallout was like, Okay, we
know what the game is. We're gonna use the game
as our base. We're doing something else.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
I mean Last of Us, Last Off is great. What's
the other one? Sonic Sonics the movie, but it's still
the same thing. But that Fallout just like we want
to use it as based on this world, but it's
a different Vaults, so it's a different Vaults. I thought,
this is the same thing. Then the show said, that's
to car combat. Let's tell a story, and then that's all.

(34:34):
It needs to be the genesis of anything, not just
doing it for content sake.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
And I really think like this this show really benefit
off having Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatrice. Their dynamic really good.
I think they at first it Sevany Beatrice I think
also is like at first she is the Rosa from
Brooklyn ninety nine character, which is what everyone kind of expects,
but then she does evolve into something more. You know

(35:00):
her and conto side a little bit. You're like, hell yeah,
Like I think, I think if you have a peacock,
I know Nintender Mike says he has a peacock promo
for a year. I think I think this is well
worth to watch on Peacock, Like it is a show
that I think Peacock is like, hey we have this
is our video game show, and you got to watch

(35:20):
us to watch it, you know, like if you want
to watch Traders and this, you gotta watch us.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah. I'm definitely trying to try to lock in and
you know what I'm going. I'm going on a plane
in like a month.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
This is what I watched down. It's I think it's
like eight episodes and you can binge through probably like
four on the way down.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
So yeah, this will be my plane show. And this
will keep keeping nice and distracted for two hours.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
And okay, but we can switch out of reaction. Theaters
don't worry about that, just so we're not playing the
Peacock or SODI logo for one hundred times. Yeah, that
is coming. We know summer twenty twenty five, so I
would probably assume maybe a June ish or in August
most likely for that show to come out. And if

(36:02):
it's eight episodes and it's a summer show, June makes
perfect sense. Then you tease whatever else you got coming
out in fall.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Oh dropped the same time last summer, right.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
I don't remember because I watched it after it came out,
so I'm not I can't tell you on that one.
But well worth it. If you need something to watch
on Peacock, you have a trial or something that's well
worth it, as well as Traders, So don't sleep on Traders.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
It's good.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
I love Traders. The only one that is like, what
was that?

Speaker 1 (36:28):
I don't get it? Like I love Traders and everyone else.
I talk to you like, I don't know, watch Traders? Traders?
What is that? I'm like, are you not watching Alan
Cummins on a weekly basis? Pretend to be a Bond villain.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
I'm just the old man at this point, I'm like,
what's that.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
That too? But Kevin, we're not done talking about Anthony
Mackie because it is time for another mcu in review
for Captain America Brave New World, So let's break it
down before we go further. Nintendo Mic and the chat

(37:09):
Twitch dot Tv Slash Infant Underscore pod says, if you
want a trial of Peacock, sign up for Instacart plus
uh and then cancel it and use used to your
advantage getting other trials because you have Instacart plus.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Funny that so many ways of scam out promos. This
is amazing, it really is.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Really if you really put work into it, you could
have a lot of free things for leave like four
ninety nine. Maybe that's what they'll get out of you.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I'm wondering now, because you can always order new cash
app a Vemo card. If if I just keep getting
a new Vemo counter the month, I have door Dash
Premium every month for free.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
One of these days, one of these days, they're going
to catch me. But not today. Damn not today. Uh
So both of us have seen Captain America Brave New World.
We actually got to see it together, which is a
lovely experience when we get to see these movies together.
We'll talk about our theater review in a hot sec
but the movie does come out this weekend. Anthony Maggie,

(38:04):
Danny Ramirez, Harrison Ford, among others, Tim Blake Nelson and
I think I said, Harrison Ford, Okay, yeah, John Color resposition.
There we go. It is two hours, a little less
than two hours. There's one end credit scene just to
give you the deets you need to know. But Kevin
non spoiler, what did you think of the movie.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
It was a fine entry into the MCU. It is
not a top ten mc movie. It is definitely in
the top twenty, and there's a lot worse than this one.
But I had a really good time of this movie.
I thought the beginning was a little bit frantic. I
think it's to describe it. But once the scene we

(38:48):
see in the in the trailer, when the tip detestination happens,
that kind of locked me in for the next hour
slid hour twenty minutes. Yeah, was like, what's happened next?

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (38:58):
So I had a really good time following this movie.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Movie.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
I love I love seeing I always love seing. Baltimore
represented representing the MCU.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
For Hot Sex for Hot Second.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
We're in there. We're in there though, we're in I
love Anthony Mackie's performance. I love Harrison Ford was actually trying,
which is really cool because sometimes he bones it in.
Yeah I'm here for the check. But this and also
I was talk about shrinking.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Yeah, yeah, he was the level of shrinking where like
at first you like, who's phoning it in, but you're
like he's actually like he's trying.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
I love Daniel Marris is great. I do have one
issue with a certain performer in this movie. I'm not
going to say who it is because they're only in
the movie for like fifteen minutes total, so it's not
really I think I know what you're talking about. Yeah,
it was just it wasn't It wasn't even really performance.
Think it was just like an I things like that.
That person looks weird on the screen right now, I
don't and I can't figure out why. But John Cribs,

(39:51):
you though, was not that person. He's a boss.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
He also had weird eyes, So that's what I thought
you were talking about.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
But he was.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I thought he was great. Tim Blake Nelson after not
being the leader ever, Ok, you're talking about five seconds,
that's five seconds on screen at an incredible hawk. He
did a great job as a menacing villain. I've been
saying to a lot of people, if you go into
this movie thinking it's gonna be in the album of

(40:20):
Winter Soldier in Civil War, you'll be able to digest
it a lot better. Yeah, cause I saw a lot
of that, but both of the movies in this one movie,
and I enjoyed it. So yeah, for me, it was
definitely a go out and see it.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Basically Yeah, out of ten shields, what would you give it?

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Depending on my day and the kind of day I've
had a good day, I would say eight point one shields.
It's been a day that's been dragging me a little bit,
maybe seven point seven.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Okay, so we're gonna go seven point eight for you
ten minutes shoot the middle on that one. All right,
great or seven point nine whatever, do the math. Yeah,
I really enjoyed it. I think, like keV said, if
you're going in knowing this isn't an agenda pushy push
or a plot forward moving Marvel movie, it isn't you know,

(41:11):
civil war and here is now heroes all our players
to tee you up for Vendors Infinity War. It is
very kin to Winter Soldier, which we you know, we
looked at like literally the podcast of like didn't really
like push a big battie or push a big plot.
It really was centralized on Steve and Bucky. Obviously, you
know Shield is there for a larger part, but really

(41:32):
on that dynamic Black what it was there too, really
on that dynamic and I mean really even the end
credits to that is like, you know, it's Bucky looking
at you know, the Captain America Museum, like it's nothing,
Oh my god, like Tanos is coming. And I think, really,
if you think about that, like this movie is very
the same of that, which is good because you know,

(41:53):
the Russo brothers aren't doing this. It is Julius Onoo.
I thought dode a great job Home Dudes from Arlington,
so like they picked the right person to do a
Marvel movie set in d C for the most part,
like hold On, d hold On DC. keV got his
Baltimore shout out. Your boy got a seven five to
seven Norfolk shout out, which I danked the man when

(42:13):
I interviewed him. I was like, thank you, because we
don't really get norfilk or anything like that a lot
movies and they're like, huh, Like it's it's just mean thing,
don't worry about. But I really think, you know, this
movie excels on Anthony Mackie Day Ramirez his relationship as
Cap in Falcon or as Joaquin, because it does it

(42:34):
did echo a lot of you know, Cap and Bucky
and then obviously Bucky and Sam. And I think that's
what the Captain America movies do well on, is that brothership,
that friendship, Like that. Yeah, Isaiah Bradley is the heart
of this movie. We're all like crying over a man's
suit for like a hot second, like like you can't

(42:55):
you lean on and be like, what my cry about
this man's suit?

Speaker 2 (42:58):
We get to the part I'm not going to tell
you I made me cry, but it made me cry.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Maybe I cry man, We can't. We don't like it.
I do think Harrison, like I said, Harrison Ford, I
thought was a lot better than we thought. Because Harrison
Ford nowadays, you kind of like what we're gonna get,
Like obviously his interview skills not his skills, but he
just like I don't give a crap. You know, I'm
gonna say whatever the hell I want to say in
this interview. I love that. Like he got a tiny

(43:23):
mic from ESPN, and then ESPN interviewed him later, like
two weeks later with the hul Can. He's like, I
don't want this tiny mic, give me the whole can
and he started hulking out like he didn't care. I
did great. I think obviously I thought this is very
like there's a lot of Hulk stuff in here, So
it would behoove you to watch that Hulk movie. Beforehand too. Yeah,

(43:47):
but I do think he did great. Tim Blake Nelson
as the leader, I wish we could have gotten a
little bit more of, but I because I felt like
that is a cool villain. A half John Clasposito was
kind of there. We've kind of with the Cat movies.
You always get a villain that's like the beginning villain
really doesn't add too much the movie, but it's mainly

(44:08):
just the show off caps powers. I think that's what
he did. And then there is the guy. I forgot
the character's name. It's actually uh Sira, no Sira who
was Okay, you know she's very short. I'm gonna tell
you the actor is very short. Yeah, you'll feel it

(44:30):
in this movie when she's standing next to to Anthony
Mackie and Danny Ramire. It's like we will really short. Okay,
there is one end credit scene, like we said, But overall,
I enjoyed it. I think it is very on the level,
but I think better than the Marvels and Quantum Mania
of recent Marvel movies. And I would give it seven

(44:52):
point eight shields out of ten. So we're sitting right
around the middle there, and I think it is you know,
because of those points. It isn't you know, the biggest
Marvel movie which you gotta save your nines and your
tens for, But it isn't the worst which we've seen
with you know, Quantumnia, thor eleven Thunder, and then the
Marvels like those are the lower like oh, they didn't
really hit the mark on.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
That one, but like this, this movie is not Thord
Dark World at all, and.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
It's not thor leven Thunder also because I know we
were when we reranked that one a lot lower than
we were counting on it the go. But you know,
it isn't a dead pol And Wolverine and and I
much too. It's it's benefit. It's not a cameo fest
the entire time. There are two big cameos, which we'll

(45:37):
talk about in hot second, but it isn't let's stop
the movie for here's four characters that will be here
for five minutes, you know, but we're gonna love those
five minutes.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
There's no he's gonna say the thing in here and
then you get another thing.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
Come on, I see what you did. But kay, let's
get into full spoiler territory with the movie. Uh. The
Best Podcast logo is behind. I mean, so let me
put that over here.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
So this is the best part of the podcast. Because
you made it this far, you can posit it right here.
We won't spoil what happens in the movie. You've pretty
much just known our reviews that they really spoiled too much.
You know, I say, Bradley's in the movie. That might
have been the only thing we spoiled was this man's suit.
You wore suit. But you can pause us. The best
thing is go see the movie. Come back. We'll be
right here for you talking about the movie and be like,

(46:24):
oh my god, I am excited, or oh my god,
what the hell happened with this movie?

Speaker 2 (46:29):
Exactly right waiting for you.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
All right, So here are your spoilers three two one. No,
Doctor Doom didn't show up. That was just throw you off.
But this movie definitely I think it's the first step
towards Secret Wars, which is what the end credit scene
was with the Leader.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Yeah, so if that's familiar with the Leader is besides
being very very smart, he can see a lot of
probabilities and a lot of you know, everything happen. He
basically he already.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
Saw keep talking Kevin, I have a dog I have
to handle.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
In the end credits scene, he basically talks about how
you already saw the odds of something from another world
happening coming to this world and our heroes happen to
fight for it basically the way he sees the way
he sees everything, he basically can weigh probability reactions on everything.
And he told Sam that something's coming, and we all

(47:27):
know that something is Secret Wars, it is Doctor Doom,
it is fantastic for it's a lot of things. We
know that as the audience. But Sam's like, I'm just
gonna do some wings. What do you mean with something coming?
By the way, I do kind of wish And I
heard somebody else say this. I'll give them credit for
it that we got a scene when Harrison Ford was
in the jail with Leader and telling tell him that

(47:48):
probably something he goes never tell me the odds.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
You're like a skin of cool. But yeah, I think
with the end credit scene, it is like we kind
of just said I think for Spider Man that situational
irony where now hey Cap, no, the Cap knows I
need to get a team together for us to come

(48:12):
you know, yeah, and who.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
That team is right now, we don't really know. Maybe
we'll see some of that team in May, but you know,
time will.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
Tell time, maybe in July, maybe tbd, we don't know,
maybe in March. This is not really with the movie,
but filming for Doomsday does start in March, so just
prepare yourself for spoilers in case they do happen. But
just to say that, but yeah, I think and credit

(48:46):
was kind of okay, but it really was just let's
have you know, the not Doctor Strange is the not Deadpool.
Wolverines know that something's happening or worlds are colliding, which
is good because you know, you let everybody else know.
But overall the movie I thought, once again, like really good.
I think, I guess do you want to go through
the plot? I guess we could just do that. Yeah,

(49:08):
But the movie starts off kind of very well. It's
the first movie we don't have the Marvel Studios A
little worm with the red and in the in the Yeah,
it was weird. They did have the music, but it
was Marvel Studios Presents in kind of the the black
and white flashing that we've kind of seen in the
trailer for this.

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Is a take.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
I think it is.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
We kind of like to say, when we hear that fanfare,
it's like, all right, here we go. Let me get
let me get my blanket on, and just get my
snacks ready. Kevin did have em and m's I smelled
those of the entire time. Those were great, Thank you, Kevin.
I don't want to bother smelled it. Oh man, he
kept on warm in his pocket. Didn't over there. Might
want to not watch that jacket, baby, But we get

(49:54):
that and we cut. We're in Mexico where Sam Wilson
and Joaquin Tors have to infiltrate a church that's being
infiltrated by the Serpent Society, which really wasn't introduced a lot.
We just kind of know as a like a military
group that's led by John carl Esposito. That is where
kind of the re the reshoots happened, because originally supposed

(50:15):
to be like seth Rawlins and another actress, that we're
gonna be members of the elite of the Society, but
they said, now we'd rather have John Carl Esposito. It's
a little more espionage, which vibes is vibes I get it.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
Yeah. I think in this scene when they're trying to
get the church take a hostage and when Sam comes
trying to save them, a big guy comes to fight Sam.
It's what's why I say demindedly of Winter Soldier and
Civil War. It's kind of round me on the scene
from Civil from Winter Soldier when he fought Bacht off
the leef boat. But I wanted to be Seth Rollins.

(50:48):
Maybe you know what I mean, you know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
Yeah, but it was a it was a cool, really
cool fight.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
This actually team was released I think last Friday. Last
Friday was released actually on YouTube, so I saw this
scene before. Really good fight. The one thing this movie
had was great fight scenes.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
Yeah, I do agree. I think that is something they
leaned on from the other Captain America movies too. Is like,
if we're gonna do fight scenes, let me be intentional
and good fights, you know, yeah exactly.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
And the way Sam uses his wings and his wing
suit and his thrusters' is just yeah, he doesn't have powers,
but I mean even if little me comes thrusting at
you with a punch, well, and I think.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
That's the cool thing we talk about. Marvel iconography is
that this is a Wakanon suit and it is that
purple kind of refractory or like repulse back alley. Yeah,
you're like, hell yeah, that's Wakanda. I know, purple Wakanda.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
You know, it was kind of it was kind of
made me.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
I'm like, oh god, now, I'm like, oh man. This
was in the Marvel Studios logo, but we didn't get
to see that. But it's okay. But Sam and Joaquin
do capture Sidewinder, who's John Carlos Posita's character, find out
the buyer never showed up to buy Adamantium, which we
find out is what is in the head now of
celestial Tiamut, Kevin's favorite celestial that never was now.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
I wonder though, if in nowhere is nowhere well celestial too, well.

Speaker 1 (52:16):
I think that's also you got reference returnals a little
bit here. I don't remember the characters in Turnal they
would tell you that right now. Besides Kingo uh Gemma
Chan's character turns it from celestial to stone or whatever.
So it is a new element. We're gonna We're gonna say,
at least for benefit of the doubt, But turns out
the entire world's fighting over it because it is, you know,

(52:39):
a metal that can do endless things like maybe make
an act endos skeleton for someone, or medicine and cure
cancer and all that good stuff.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Say that the only country so far to have refined
it is Japan.

Speaker 1 (52:51):
Yes, which I thought was really cool. Cherry Blossoms used
a lot in this movie, which if you're you're from
the d m V area or Baltimore, you know Cherry
Blossoms or break in DC, because it was a gift
from Japan at some point and kind of kind of
was a symbol of US Japan relationships to a degree.
This was really cool to see those sorts of the thing.

(53:12):
Plus they go to Haynes's point, which the title basin.
We did ask him why he called it. Haines points
set a title basin Julius Sono, and Julius essentially said, well,
like that's the actual name of that area, you know,
the title basin just the whole entire wherever you see
at Cherry Blossom. But oh yeah, but Japan is kind
of the lead power that we find out Thunderbolt Ross,

(53:36):
who is now elected president. We do get kind of
a time jump starting in November to January or February
first one hundred days for President Ross is trying to
get all the nations together to sign a treaty. Last
time he got to them, the sign of treaty was
the Socovia Accord, so.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Kind of cause a whole thing.

Speaker 1 (53:56):
The whole thing there. But Sam does introduce Joaquinaiah Bradley
in the gym, which is a funny moment in the
entire time. Sam does invite Joaquin and Isaiah to the
White House to see this meeting. Ross has to invite everyone,
you know to sign the treaty.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
We find out at the beginning where it's kind of
shades of what we just talked about with Norman and
Spider Man Thunderboil. Ross like, Sam, I want to work
with you, you know, I really want to, you know,
start the Avengers against.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
Sam and Sam.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
Sam is like, okay, I hear you. But what happens
if we get to an impass and He's.

Speaker 3 (54:30):
Like, I would like to think we'd work together. Sam.

Speaker 1 (54:33):
Build Ford Tough, but it's a jeep the Super Bowl conversion.
Build Harrison Forward tough, but I drive a Jeep. But
essentially we get this kind of like oh, like we're
on the same page, but not really. We're flip sides
of the same coin a little bit to a degree.
We cut to Thunderbolt Ross kind of starting the meeting

(54:55):
Isaiah Bradley, which you've seen the trailer, all of a
sudden gets a gun out starts trying to shoot President.
A bunch of other guys do too. Turns out they're
all hypnotically like triggered to activate, kind of Winter Soldier style.
We find out eventually it's the Leader. But Kevin, what
was the song that was played that you loudly called
out in the theater to let everyone else know that

(55:17):
was that's the song.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
I can't remember the name of the song, but the
song out starts out with it. I'm saying, he's feeling
some kind of blue and I remember that an incredible
hulk when Brisbane are trying to find somebody to cure
his hulkness. He was using the aliens called mister Greening
to mister Blue. Blue happened to be doctor Samuel Sterns.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
So now we know as the Leader and Leader is
kind of petty. Leader is very petty with his aid
user names, you know. But we find out Isaiah's on
the run. He didn't kill Thunderable Ross. A lot of
people do die say that, but he's on the run,
he's captured. We do find out the beginning of this
scene though, that Isaiah is wearing his wedding suit and

(55:58):
you're like, oh man, and it is. Isaiah comes back
to us when he's eventually like kind of cornered and
he's he's put down the ground. He's like, no damage
the suit, and like, oh, that's his wedding suit, Like,
don't earn his wedding suit. He's only got one of those.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
And then when Sam's talking talking him back down, He's
like I can't go back in there.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
I'm like, oh my god, yeah so much. And then
continue off of that, we do eventually Sam does show
up to the prison to talk to Isaiah about what
goes on. It was cool, like back and forth angle
shots and they do cut like they focus in on
Isaiah's face of Sam telling him, you know, don't come
back here, Like I'm like, oh my god, if you
want to help me, don't come back here.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
Like I don't know if they know each other personally,
because I mean, it's always a joke down all black
people know each other. But I would imagine in Hollywood though,
like the actor now, what's his name called Lumblee. It's
been around a long time, so I would imagine that
Anthony Mackiew must have taken a classroom at some point. Yeah,

(57:00):
I mean, I know that chemistry was so good.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Yeah, I think it really is cool to have. Really,
you have the older guard, which is, you know, Carl
m Ley, Harrison Ford, and got Anthony Mackie kind of
John Carlow now, which you're kind of like the now actors,
and you have Danny Ramirez who's like the up and
comer actor of like generations of actors in this movie,
which is cool.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
I mean, I know they did a show together, but
that was what for you five years ago. At this point,
he's going to win a soldier, so.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
Thank god he's still here left off. But eventually Sam
and Joaquin are saying, we're gonna find out what's really
going on Isaiah. They find a hidden sight in Virginia
and they find out that it is Samuel Stearns from
The Incredible Hulk is Lab. Essentially he does kind of
we find out he's been using mind control on everyone
to sort of get them to do whatever he wants

(57:48):
just by flashing kind of the lights or something a
signal at them.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
We do find out that.

Speaker 1 (57:55):
Ruth, right, yeah, Ruth, I said she she was the actor.
Ruth is this former black widow that is Thunderbolt Ross
is like head of security essentially, even though he does
have a secret service that Sam knows to a degree,
which is weird that she's been following Sam and Joaquin.

(58:16):
We're finding out that Thunderbolt Ross have has this hidden
agenda of secrets he doesn't want leaked out. Turns out
that Thunderbolt Ross hired the Leader to pretty much help
him win a lot in elections and wars and decisions
this entire time. And the whole promise was that eventually,
if Thunderbolt Ross was not elected president, he lets the

(58:37):
leader go. He didn't, so once again the leaders of
Petty Petty Lady and said, well, I'll play my ain
theme song, my mic space song. I turned everyone against you.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
That's funny, good. I think was the height of my Space.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
Actually it was.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
It was.

Speaker 2 (58:54):
It was going by the way our say isn't in
the chat. I don't know if you saw that from
the spoiler.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
There you go. We love it. We love talking about spoilers. Eventually,
Stern's escapes uh slowly shortly followed by Ruth, Sam and Joaquin,
which is where we see that Ruth is very short.
It's that same you real short. Turns out that Har's
Thunderbolt Ross has tried to renegotiate with Japan to get

(59:21):
the Celestial Island of treaty. Going doesn't work, so he said,
you know what, We're gonna show off force and take
on Japan buy Celestial Island. Once Sam and Joaquin find out,
they do go all the way to Celestia Island to
stop two rogue pilots from attacking the Japanese fleet, preventing war.
But in doing so we find out that the Leader

(59:43):
does get in contact with Underbolt Ross and kind of
gives them the triggers to start turning him into Red
Hulk and like, oh, a hulk and a naval ship
is not gonna go. Well right now, We've been I've
been in those ships. They are not very roomy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
A really tense scene too, I mean, besides the leader
trying to get him to just turn on the boat,
which would have been crazy Sam and Sam and Joaquin
try to get these rogue pilots who have been again
mister blued through the pilots and trying to do it safely.
It was just like, oh my gosh, are you gonna kill?

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
Yeah? I think the other thing is too. We find
out that eventually the pills that uh Thunderbolt Ross has
been taking out the whole film they are contaminating with gamma.
That guy get the guy who finds that out. He
gets horribly killed. I felt bad for that guy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
I did too, and part was like, man, how is
he so good? I think he's a good leader. I
hate we're kind of again kind of like Civil War.
How is he so good?

Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
Yeah? I think that's the cool thing is is the
smart villains. I think it's always fun more than the
physical villains most of the time. And we also find
out that during the Selesio Island skirmish, Joaquin is injured.
It is very reminiscent of how Sam explained how his
partner went down and Winter Soldier, so kind of a
little PTSD vibes of that. Eventually, though they stop everything,

(01:01:09):
we're okay, Stearns does get pissed because his plane is
not working. He did kill two people that I guess
he just needed their phone to get in contacted the
president or something.

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
But while.

Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
While Sam is looking over Jaquem while he's getting surgery,
we do hear some footsteps behind him. You're like, who
is this gonna be? And it is running for Congress
one James Buchan and ak Bucky.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Maybe so happy it maybe so happy that we were
watching it.

Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
And I think that's the thing, is like, obviously they're
saving cap for Secret Wars or whatever with Steve Rodgers,
but I think Bucky is just like, oh man, like
y'all had some good times, like this is great, especially
because the Thunderbolts trailer came out for the Big Game
last week and you're like, Okay, this puts this in
perspective now where we're gonna be for the Thunderbolts and

(01:02:06):
that takes place like five months after this movie one
or two.

Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
Because I mean we see in Thunderble Shirlea he's like
in Congress. So does him going back in action hurt
his like congressional standing, I wonder.

Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Or maybe makes it better. I don't know. You get
a congressman who fights for you, President Barnes, but they
do have this heart to heart It is very shades
of Falcon and Winter Soldier, where you know Sam is
kind of having self doubt, like I'm not ready for this,
Steve chose wrong, but it is Bucky lifting them up again.

(01:02:39):
And then you know it is Sam saying all right,
I'm gonna go figure this out. He does leave the
hospital and the leader shows up and says, hey, you've
been thwarting my plans left and right. Well guess what
you didn't count for this plan? Cut Harris and Thady's
Thunderbolt Ross at a press conference can't handle the pressure
from the paparazzi. Let me tell you from the rets

(01:03:00):
and sounds familiar, sounds familiar, and he hawks out, which
I don't know if I mean obviously the trailers spoiled it.
I don't know if they needed that, because it kind
of like, oh, I know where we're going if you
got Thunderbolt Ross, but to each his home.

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Yeah, I thought he was gonna get the leaders, was
gonna get frustrated again and somebody shoot him, and somebody
shoots him. Of course that's what's gonna happen, because that's
that's how the Halks work.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
Yeah, it was that.

Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
Uh, the third floor we dove into the ground basically again.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Yeah, uh, before actually uh, Thunderbolt Ross turns into Red Hulk.
He does get a call finally from Betty, who is
played by liv Tyler. The phone call was kind of
it was like, is this girl acting? Is this lady acting?

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
And all?

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
But she later comes back later in the movie, but
it's like, oh, he has hope and we find out
the leader that kind of activates everything to he replays
the message Thunderbolt Ross was talking to him in the
naval ship. You're like, oh, and then he obviously Red
Hulk's out. He can burn things if they touch his body,
which is wild, like, oh no, he's going crazy on
the press. But before things get too crazy, Sam shows

(01:04:13):
up lures Red Hulk after destroying half of the West
Wing to Hain's Point aka the title basement where all
the cherry blossoms are. Tries to you know, he doesn't
do Sun's getting low with what I thought for a
second he was, I was gonna try everything, so I'm
getting real low. But he tries to remind Red Hulk

(01:04:35):
this time of Betty trying to remember, you know, you
came with Betty to see the cherry blossoms all the time.
This is cool obviously the movie being in April because
that's when cherry blossom season is so fun. Fact, eventually
Sam is able to use one of the Vibranian wings
to kind of push Red Hulk off of him, does
calm him down. Before Ross reverts to his normal self.

(01:04:58):
He's taken away to the raft aka where Sam was
at the end of Civil Wars. That was fun to
go back there. You know, prison he built, You're back
in there. He does, I guess, abdicate being president. He's
no longer president, so there is a vacancy. We'll see
probably what happens with that in Thunderbolts. Most likely, Oh my.

Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
God, if Elaine gets presidents.

Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
Val Yeah, it could happen. It could happen. But you know,
Isaiah Bradley does get released from prison. Loved it.

Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
And this is where Wilson does meet with Thunderbolt Ross again, saying,
you know, we can work together again, Like you know,
even though you're in here, you can help everybody. He
does bring Betty to Thunderbolt Ross, which I thought was
a lot better of a scene than the phone call.
And it is tam going back to Seejoaquin at the
end of the movie tell him how he does one

(01:05:50):
of his like sort of flight tricks, and we hear
I by Kendrick Lamar to end the title or the
end of the credits essentially.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
And then again it's funny because this all both those
scenes where malcolms up again where the Soldier and the
Civil War, because when the Soldier ended with Sam in
the hospital with with Cap and I'm saying, on your left,
and then this ends with Sam in the hospital with Joaquin,
like it's just they just played the hits. I'm like,

(01:06:19):
I'm not mad at this.

Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Yeah, obviously we talked about the end credits scene is
the first thing we talked about, so we don't have
to worry about talking about that. But yeah, overall, like
we said, uh, seven point nine and if we did
the math out of ten shields so well worth a watch.
I do think scene in theaters is good, especially if
you have the expectations. You know it's not gonna be
plot moving forward, but it is. You know, let me

(01:06:42):
solidify Sam Wilson as Cap, which I think this movie
does very well of doing it, especially in Joaquin as
Falcon as well.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
And I feel like you don't need to worry about
a MCU movie pushing forward the plot of the overall
MCU until Fantastic four.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
Yeah, Yeah, Thunderbolts is not Yeah, it's gonna be like,
what the hell is going on here? And maybe the
end credit scene will do something.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
You know exactly exactly, So Stipper all bet all that
and just going to have a fun time in the movie.

Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
But Kevin. That leads to our favorite part of MCU
in review, it's time to rank Captain America Brave New
World against every other property in the MCU, which, as
of right now, this is the forty eighth project we've
at least ranked, and I believe we've ranked everything, so
I can't tell you because I get lost when we
get to like fifteen. But we're not gonna say everything.

(01:07:33):
We will say our bottom movies. Our bottom projects are
I Am Groot because we're like, it doesn't really count,
thor The Dark World, The Incredible Hulk, thor Iron Man two,
Iron Man three, and Eternal. So that's your bottom five.
Our top ten movies for MCU and review, which we
did add Dead Pull and Wolverine that unfortunately didn't crack

(01:07:54):
the top ten. It was number thirteen. It was close.
We have Avengers, Endgame, Avengers, Infinity War, Spider No Way Home,
Captain America's Civil War Winner Soldier, which these This movie
is shades of very well Black Panther, Guardians Galaxy thor Ragnarok,
Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume three at our
ten spot, closely followed by Wakanda Fever and Iron Man Kevin.

(01:08:18):
Where are you gonna start for ranking where Captain America
Brave in New World should go?

Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
I said a few weeks ago. I can't find what
episode it was. I thought i'd put put it into
a transcript, but who has that count of down? That's it?
This movie is between sixteen and twenty. I'll be happy
m hm right now. I will put this movie at eighteen.

Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
Okay, I see, so you would have it Wanda Vision
at seventeen. This and then Guardians two. Yes, I'm gonna
lower expectations on that one because I think Guardians too,
I think is very like people hate on it, but
I think it's very good. I think unfortunately, like the
top twenty is gonna be said. I don't like to

(01:09:01):
watch it anymore because where our falcony, when our soldier
is is at twenty two, and I think that's a
very good litmus test for this movie because it is
very continuation of that direct continuation of that. Yeah, but
I think for me, I did enjoy it more than

(01:09:21):
the show, because I think the show Falconer Soldier was
a little all over the place to a degree with
the flag smashers. You know, it did have good beats,
but I think these beats were a little stronger if
I think it's just a movie versus a TV show. Now,
so we have if I'm gonna put that twenty one,
you got Agathol along above it, Far from Home and

(01:09:43):
Guardians Kevin, Where would you put it with those three? There?

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
I would put it. I didn't joy this a little
more to act all all along. That's because I'd have
to wait seven weeks for it. My patience is now,
it's getting it's always babies and working all that stuff.
If I had to choose me, though, three, I would
put it in between. So I'll put it. I'll put
below Guardians in before fider Man farm Home. I still,

(01:10:08):
I still, I'm not a big fan of farm Home
at all.

Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
All right, So now it comes to the coin flip
because I'll say it's below Far from Home. So now
it's the is the patented? When you only have two hosts,
you have to rely on a coin. Flip, So, Kevin,
I'll let you call it this time. Is it gonna
be heads or is it gonna be tails?

Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
I'll be in the middle of something like this.

Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
Okay, all right, Well let me google usually flip a coin?
All right, come on, flip a coin? Are there?

Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Go?

Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
All right? So what are you all right?

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
Heads or tails? What are you gonna call?

Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
I always call headscause.

Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
Yeah, let's see if it's for nineteen to twenty show
me but there to salad, it is to sell it heads.
So now, Captain America, Brave New World is in the
nineteen spot right above Far from Home and right below
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume two.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
Baby, Yeah, I'm sorry, I just Far from Home.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
To knows me like it more doesn't like it either.
I'm like, it's just a vacation movie with Spider Man
and we're going to Italy in the beginning.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
You know, as I do think.

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Mysteria was a character in general, I don't. I can
see what I read the comments as a kid, because
it's like a punch of face. It's not real. And
you know what's Spider Man, it stop acting stupid.

Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
Ye And just to kind of reiterate what we talked about,
we did have the Marvels at twenty six, Quantum Mania
at thirty four, so I mean Multiverse amandas is at
twenty five. So it is like ballpark there in that area.
I think, probably generally for everybody is what it's gonna be.
Maybe a little lower, that's totally okay. But these are

(01:11:36):
our rankings. These are the podcast rankings, and this is
what we think. We let you guys think what you
want on letterbox. That's okay.

Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
Oh. I always wonder though what the movie could have
been if it was made under Kevin Foggy regime and
not a five y slash Chapek regime when you had
to come back and fix everything.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Oh you're thinking about Oh yes, yes, yes, there are
influences of that, which is why it was reshot to
a degree. You know, we'll never know what Seth Rollins
was going to do in this movie, but I do
think overall, don't read into what Rotten Tomatoes in your
igns say. Obviously form your own opinion. We are a

(01:12:12):
little higher on it. We do tend to score a
little higher on movies. If we score lower, you know,
we wouldn't good at all.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
We don't talk about it, you know, we don't like it.
Talk about Alcoa ban two.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Yes, But if you enjoyed Toiler, okay. If you don't
want to see it Toiler okay as well. It'll be
on Disney Plus around fourth of July. It makes most sense,
probably right around fourth July.

Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
Remember Rod Tomino doeses. It doesn't mean that it's fifty
fifty three percent good. It means five out of ten
people like it, and that's.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
All it means. Correct critics. Actually, when you get the
popcorn meter, then it's people people, normal people.

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
I bet you the popcorn will be like in the seventies.

Speaker 1 (01:12:47):
Yeah, I have a feeling too. I think a lot
of people and it's it's Valentine's Day. So if you're
trying to you have a partner that's really in superhero movies,
take them and go see it and they'll do whatever
you want.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
I say, this is a special person anthemcan he's a
final commands fine, like a man.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
That's okay, you're supposed to be like it you know,
all of a sudden, Kevin's go tea looks like Anthony
Mackie's go to.

Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
It would I if I shave my soul betch is
a little stringy, Kevin, and I think it's time to
go shave.

Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
