a Rocket debut playoff wise for a bunch of different

the first time. Fred van vliet INA's first playoff game,
Dylan Brooks in his first Rocket playoff game, and then
he had a men out beat Jalen tari Uh Jabbari
in their first game.

I mean, honestly was horrible.

Yeah yeah, Fred was terrible, terrible, And and I'm a
huge Fred van Vliek guy off and on the court.
I defend him on air, I defend him on Twitter.
And he went, it was just dead. It was bad
four of nineteen. And here's the problem. I listened to
you on the rocket drop. I figured out the one. Yeah, uh,

you got a couple of calls. They there were very
few contested miss shots, boys and girls. There were a
lot of in stride, open looks, good passes. Fred had
a couple on a break top of the key, three missed,
long rebound, goes right back to him, shoots it up again.
I mean, you have to knock down open shots in

the association, no matter who you are. Yes, if you don't,
you can play. You can be the best offensive rebounding
team in the NBA, which the Rockets have been.

Draymond Green, and you know I'm not a fan of his,
but boy, he had a pretty poignant comment last night.
He said, the best offensive Rockets has last night was
the offensive rebound.

Twenty two offensive rebounds and they still lost by ten
because you went six of twenty nine from three. That's
twenty one percent for those of you playing at home. Yeah,
you cannot do that. Also, you can't miss nine free throws.
But unfortunately that's who the Rockets are. The Rockets have been.
I mean there, I know there's been about seventy four

percent all year long. They've really probably said dead in
turn is probably been worse than that. They're dead last
and free throws twenty first and three point percentage. So
what has been a problem for them all year long
was a problem for them in game one.

I didn't think officiating had anything to do with anything
last night except.

No, there's a couple of bad calls on the Pajemski
travel and the was it off Draymond instead of Steven
Adams on the sideline, But there was I mean, not
a non factor. No Steph Curry got fouled a bunch
of times when he shouldn't have. There were some other
questionable calls on the other side. So in the Rockets
second quarter, and they just couldn't hold onto the basketball,
turned them all over seventeen times. There was like a

stretch and about three minutes they turned it over five times,
I mean, and Golden State, to its credit, turned those
into points.

They scored twenty five.

Bad.

I mean, let's go glass half full if you want
to for a second, if you don't mind as bad
the Rocket shot and I mean wolful from three, wolful
from the free throw line, wolful from the free and
in a hard time holding out of the basketball, especially
in the first half.

It got to a one possession game in the fourth quarter.
It just did.

And I don't want to say clean things up, but
it just shows you that it's a lot closer a
series that maybe you want to think it can be,
especially after what you saw last night, but it could
be because Curry was excellent. Jimmy Butler got to the
mid range like he normally does. But there was nobody
else on Golden State that really scared me. But Jemski

was human yesterday. Draymond Green doesn't shoot a whole lot.
Gary Payton was okay. I mean they only shot thirty
eight percent from three. That's that's not great for them.
They also turned the ball over fourteen times. So it
came down to not to oversimplify things. It came down
to shots that got a fall.

And if you just you, if you're starting backcourt goes
seven for thirty four and two of seventeen from three,
you're not going to win.

The good thing is the things that went well for
the Rockets are repeatable. Alprinchingoon there's nobody that can guard
him down low. For the Golden State Warriors. He had
twenty six points. He had eight of their first thirteen.
He had a really good game. Steven Adams crashing the boards.
You can crash the boards on this Golden State Warriors team.
If you make a point to do so, which he made,
Docin does so those things you can do again.

It's not like they just shot out of their heads.
It was the exact opposite.

And like you said, it was it was a three
point game at one point in the fourth quarter. You
got down as much as twenty three. I think, yeah, yeah,

spent basically the entire second half climbing that hill to
get back to close to where you were. And all
you needed was a key three or a key jump shot,

I thought struggled last night in terms of just looking comfortable.
He looked like he had He looked like he was
losing his playoff Forage Dinerney on the floor last night.
Uh yeah, I think Jabbari I thought had a better
second half than he had his first half. He turned

it's it's been somewhat of an offensive struggle for him.
And when he's not being found on basket cuts, which
he was a couple of times, to pass it and
get there and he was there for a couple of
cuts and he wasn't found.

when the other team's backing way off of him. Which
now that teams all have a scouting report on him,
and now you're into the playoffs, nobody's getting up on

those Apple jumpers were not falling for. He's got to
hit those fadeaways. And I mean, those are tough shots.
I mean, it just is what it is. And if
those aren't falling and he's not getting to the basket,

to earlier in the season. There was some Warriors fans,
but it was minimal and they weren't as loud as
they have been in previous times in that building.

And the crowd was great. The energy was good. I mean,
the air kind of.

Came out of the building when the Warriors went on
that twenty four to seven run between the first and second.
But that's that can happen anywhere, for sure, good sports,
not for Houston. I mean thirty one thousand of the
ballpark full reena at the at the Titus Center, last
fifty thousand people. Well, I didn't win a game though
nobody won. Nobody won.

So it was least that they were both on the

I think a couple of things. First of all, I
don't think we're gonna see Kim Witmore at all. Aaron Holliday.
Maybe is a possibility, but coach you Dooka clearly has
shown he doesn't trust Cam Whitmore to do the right things,

to not just play for himself and to rather than
the team.

So I don't think we're seeing Cam Whitmore.

Aaron Holliday, I honestly would be open to because when
they went on that bad run where they only scored
seven points over however many minutes, it was the guys
on the floor.

There's just no one that was off. You go to
that big lineup and it's fun. But when it's Steven
Adams and Shinoon and Jabbarsmith Junior and the paint is
getting mucked up, you need somebody. You need some shooting
out there. And I mean.

Thompson was on the floor as well, So you're talking
about three guys on the floor who are non shooters.
So if you want to stretch in space a little
bit with Aaron Holliday, who is not a lockdown defender,
but it can at least you put him in there
for five minutes a half or something like that and
get him to make two three threes. I don't think
that's the worst thing in the world, because they are
definitely lacking scoring punch off the bench. Yeah, I would

agree with you that the bench does not have a
perimeter guy. Easan and Smith are not known as perimeter guys.
They combined well, Tario went oh for four. Tari's gonna
do his most of his damage like you did a
couple times yesterday with the steels mid court. His aggressives
on the defensive end that turns into points on the
offensive side. You've got to make those open corner threes.
He got a couple of them, and well he went
over four. Yeah, And I think if you're Golden State,

you're gonna continue to live and die by that. You'll
you'll allow. Frankly, if I'm Golden State, I have zoned
the Rockets to in game two, I just would say,
you know what, let's see this three point shot of yours.
Uh yeah, I mean I think that would just keep.
And that's where maybe Iron Holliday could come in a
little bit again.

They got to pay to their strengths and try to
minimize their weakness. Now, the backcourt did not do anything
for the most part of this game. James Green was bad,
But you got to give a dope a lot of credit.
He saw that he was bad and he put him
on the bench for large stretches of this game. So

I think that's what you're gonna see in this series.
If he don't have it going offensively, Jayson Green, you
gotta put him on the bench because he's one of
those players when he ain't gone going on the offensive end. Yeah,
to fix his defense, you know, and that that s
shouldn't be like that because with his athleticism, he should
be above level defensive player. But time and time again, man,
when his offensive bad, he don't play the type of
defense that he normally plays when he's scoring. So again

he's got to, uh, you know, he's got to make shots,
because what Golden State's gonna do. They're gonna pack the pain.
They're gonna dare him, dare him to beat them from
the outside if he can. If he's not making shots
on a consistent basis, he's gonna struggle throughout this series.
So that you know, the time that he did get
to the rim, you know, with some contact, but they
didn't call that. So this this was a learning experience
for Jamen Green. You got to play through contract uh contact.

You're not gonna get those calls like you got in
the record season where you go to the basket in
any kind of contact, you going to the free throw line,

got to be some Goon and Van Fleet in the
pick and roll. Those got to be your main go

bring to the table in the fourth quarter with Steph

Kirby and Jimmy Butler. Now, like I said when going
into the City, I do believe the winn of the
series is going to the Western Conference Finals to play
Oklahoma City. I think both of these teams are at
least level with the defensive teams. But the difference is
the Rockets sometimes come down there they don't really know
what they're what they want to do in certain situations.
Golden State seems to have more of a plan on

what they want to do. I think their offense is
probably a little bit more versatile than the Rockets offense,
and it seems to be that she used to be
the difference the veterans. Veterans on Golden State team and
their offense is a little bit more versatile. You know,
they run a little bit form of their pristal style

get a lot of backdose screens and they got step
coming up for multiple picks. Draymond Green don't get a

at the two best guys as far as sitting screens

Jayden Green don't have a good series. The Rockets gonna
be in trouble man, because he's got to be a
guy that gives you something on a perima, either him

to step up to the place. So this is a
good series as far as getting a gauge on what

they're gonna get the experience either way, if they advanced
or even if they lose, we're gonna get a good

have that guy that can hit a bucket in the
fourth quarter when your offense is getting staggered and he

to be aggressive and take it to the basket and
look for their offense and play a play elite level
