us in the in the medical uh, in the medical community,

just trying to get clarity, you know, I want clarification.

more chance you have a pulling a lovee pretty much? Yeah,

A pulled love handle basically a lower love handle oblique muscle.
I know where it's at, I know where they're I'm
from my own knowledge. I think it's a lovey dog.

it goes all the way up right under your pack, yeah,
which basically leads you got a rib cage pole. Right's
you either hurt the pectoralis major minor, which leads to
the rib cage pole, which goes down to the lovey soreness.

So your oblique muscle refers to two abdominal muscles, the
external and internal obliques.

Right, which are which are in the same area code
as a love handle.

An oblique strain, an oblique soreness is basically your love
handle hurts. I'm gonna put that on Twitter and see
if I get any if somebody can give me some

Uh being sent to Houston for an MRI I on
his oblique. He had this injury last year kept him
out for a little over a month in the regular season.
How about do you think this is going to be
pure speculation? Well, if they're.

Putting them on a plane to come and get it,
and I've never understood why's he got to get an
MRI here? Yeah?

Why do you have to get on a plane to
get an MRI? Aren't the team doctors in West Palm
even if some of them are here and some are
there and they got another practice. You know, when when
the team's on the road and you got your road
doctors or whatever. I don't know if it's a full
time I mean, you know a lot of these doctors
I'm sure have their own practices that they own, and
maybe they've hired other doctors.

I don't know. But do you really need to get
on I've always wondered what that is.

I understand if you're coming home to rehab and the
rest of it, but do you really need to get
on a plane to go get an MRI.

I you don't. I would think in spring training locker
rooms in the training room that maybe they'd have one
or ride that they're there, the medical staff is there
would have a way to get you to an MRI
and West Palm Beach. Why do we got to get
on a plane to MRI not to go see a
specialist that's I could specializes in obliques.

This is just an MRI. Aren't you throwing them into
a tube and say what do we see? So that
part baffles me. So I always think when you got
to send him home, it's worse than you think it is. Yeah,
that's my initial thought. That's what I always think too,
because if it's just a strain number one, if you're like, okay,
it's a strain, or not even a strain, the soreness,
you're like hamstrings, get sore elbows, get sore shoulders, get
sore backs, get sore So I'm putting you on a

plane to go make you sit on a plane to
go get an MRI back in Houston. Yet Mr machines
are probably right around the corner in West Palm. I'm
always and I may be completely run this man protocol.
Maybe you got to fly back home and do it
in your own city. I don't know when it comes
to the medical stuff, but I do know this. It's
it's a bit baffling to me. But I always err

on the side if you're sending him home for an
oblique that they feel that they're a little more concerned
than it did a soreness. Soreness, right, that's the way
I look at it. Soreness, you'd say, put some ice
on at sea in three days, did so I'm going
to err on the side of you won't like the result?

that he's getting sent home.

we're talking about it this morning.

It's like, ugh, this is it's not good, and especially
that he battled this last year. So he said, quote,
I'm hopeful based on the input that we have these
next few days, we'll tell us a little bit more
with how it responds, but so far, I'm hopeful for sure.

Well, he also said that he had an ultrasound, but
he's waiting for inflammation to subside before getting further imaging. Right,
But obviously it was determined later on in the afternoon
that he was going to be sent home.

So yeah, I don't like it, man, No, I don't either.
I don't either. I just I mean, you know, you
sent a guy home, mri. Man, it looks like he
tore his acl we're going to send him home. He
can't do anything for a while. Soreness on an oblique
sent home for a guy who's got a history of it.
They're they're there's no doubt they're a little more concerned.

long can it be?

It's like you're sending him home on a plane. He

Well, you could you could go the logical one would
see to say to a Caratini or yainor Diaz thing
if you wanted to put one of those over the
other's catching. But you want that depth of catcher, especially
in spring training when they're getting a lot of work.
I mean, when you don't want to wear your catchers out.
Isn't it an opportunity? Well, you're obviously you're going to
get Singleton the first go because he's that guy right now.

But one of the big fellas and young kids, you
move over there, big body, good glove.

I mean just to see if you're going to experiment
better now than game twelve or game fifteen. Right, Yeah,

then you got you know, the catchers can both do it.

we got with these young guys, Let's let's roll them
over there and see if that doesn't. Now the question

if it's a long one, you may you may still
have to go get somebody at third base and move
the third base one. I don't know, can can parade
us play first base?

Yeah, So I'd be more app to if it got
past the Caroteni Diaz Singleton thing and it was out
for a while for Walker to to why not enroll
some ground balls to one of those big fellows and
see if they can handle if you're a corner infielder
and possibly handle it.

I don't even know how many ground balls a guy
like Descenzo or camp Smith I've ever taken over at
first base. Do you look at their body type and
you say, well, if you can play a corner outfield
and play third base, I'm assuming that they can at
least have an eye for it a little a clue
over at first base. Yeah, I don't know.

Decenzo got some run last at first base, right so,
and they're already, uh, you know, expecting him to make
the make the major league roster coming out of camp.
So I'm just gonna say that christ let's just say
Christian Walker's out won't be ready for opening day, which
again it's it's March seventh.

Opening day is three weeks away. It's a lot not
gonna be ready for opening No, but it's logical to
get descends on more work over there.

you depth. You just didn't want him as your one
hundred and sixty game got Yeah, and now it's just
and who knows how long. I mean, it's all speculation mess.

But if it's a month, that's significant. Yeah, that is significant.
That's the first month of the season. Man, we saw
it last year.

How much did the first month of the season with
a hole at first base affect the team?

It started twelve and twenty four. They had to chase
it down.

They finally caught up and jumped ahead, but they had

they probably ran it down even sooner than we thought.
But they went on that roll after that start, and
you're like, damn okay, but first base was a point
of contention all year long.

Houston to get an mri I on the soreness he

in the afternoon that he would be sent to Houston.
