Rockets snapped their six game losing streak as they beat
the Raptors yesterday. Ninety four eighty seven went over the Raptors.
They are off for the next couple of days. The
Eagles absolutely dominate the Super Bowl. They win forty to
twenty two over the Kansas City Chiefs. Pitchers and catchers.
Reporting to spring training in Major League Baseball this week,

the Chiefs took last night at the hands of the Eagles.

I think many of us are surprised that they got

has nothing to do with how good the Chief's been
in the past, because they've been great. Just judging from
last night, they looked excuse me, I know, I rarely
would say this about an Andy Reid team. They looked
ill prepared the chat. It looked like the Eagles knew

everything that they wanted to do. Chiefs fans got an
idea what Texans fans have gone through and went through
in their playoff game. The quarterback right, the pass rush
was beating into the pocket and he looked after they
hit him a few times early. Now he came back
and made some great plays at the end when the
game was over with his feet and made that great
throw in the end zone to Worthy. But I can
tell you he looked like his head was watching the

pass rushing. Remember of the second quarters like this, dude,
he doesn't look the same. It was not the normal.
Mahomes put it that way, and we said, if you
go onto the fourth quarter with a more than two touchdown,
a two score lead, now you got a chance. Well,
the game was over just in the middle of the
third quarter. That game was done finished because the feed
you could the physical domination, the decisions the Chiefs were making,

I mean, Hopkins a ball like Hopkinson. The first was
like it happened. Kelsey looked like, what are you doing? Mahomes.
They couldn't run it. They're play calling on offense. The
Eagles defense was the MVP, but Jalen was the MVP.
I mean, he played great, but the defense set the
tone so early. I mean they like finesse teams don't

win Super Bowls, man, they just don't. And the Eagles
been physical all year. Defense doesn't give up points and
for his Spagnola is a huge big game defense quarter
and their defense played pretty damn well. They did Kansas
City on Barkley. They did what we said and then
can everybody else beat you?

They did, aj Brown, Devonte Smith, Jalen Hurts with his
arm and his legs and his great decision. The kids
so poyt and he had time to throw and when
he didn't, he was efficient. They dominated the line of
scrimmage and that offensive line. Kansas City was pushed around
at front of it. They didn't blitz once and they
got all those sits and sacks.

end of his career. You can see the offensive line.
They got guys playing out of position and they they

Mean, Barkley was shut down and the Eagles still dominated
their part of the game, even though you give Chiefs
Chiefs defense at least gave them an early chance. But interceptions,
flip fields, picked sixes, misstackles. Great job of them stopping Barkley,
but Jalen Hurts was out of his You know played
he has been in two Super Bowls and both times

he's played well. He's played great football, poised. Good on him.
I know that folks here in Texas are happy for
him and his family, and he played great at it
was a beatdown man. And the truth is it was
easy to become disinterested in about the middle of the second.
I know you said, well, every because Brady's in the booth,
they're down twenty four to it's a different look. The

look in this one was twenty four to nothing. You'll
be lucky if you can score two touchdowns. You're not cuh.
I mean that was you could have started celebrating the
middlecent quarter, planning the parade because they were kicking their ass.

hadn't even gotten past midfield and then Tom Brady I
think it was either Tom Brad Kevin Berger on one
of the guys in the broadcast mentioned, hey, Vic Fangiol
still hasn't blitzed yet.

Didn't blitz the whole game?

Yeah, And it kept going throughout the rest of the game.
They didn't blitz one time.

Vic Fangil going into this game was they was not
gonna let you get over the top. The plan of
we're gonna play high safeties. You're not getting the home
run now the play to worthy at the end of
the great deep ball throw. But at that point in time,
game was over.

But and they didn't.

And they the last time we saw a dominant performance
without a lot of blitzing were three and four man
rushes of the whole game. Was Tom Brady's undefeated season
and Steve Spagnolo was the defensive coordinator for the Giants,
and they rushed for the whole game and hammered their
ass and prevented their undefeated season. All the pressure that

looms with being the first, you know, when you do
something that's just legacy stuff like three peat or doing
what the Patriots did, go undefeated seventeen and oh and
then staring at the eighteenth it is hard to do
or I take that back. They were eighteen and oh,
getting ready to win their nineteenth and they lost that game,
but similar it was a dominant performance by the Giants,

and that Super Bowl was a dominant performance by the Eagles.
Six sacks, forced fumble, couple interceptions, and a bunch more pressures,
and they sent the early message of if you guys
came here to just kind of to to, you know,
chest block as we are going to maul you and
mall they did. And if you were ever concerned about
favoritism in this Super Bowl, for the most part, out

the first pass in the reforits call that should have
been called, and then the next call. There was two
calls in the first quarter, You're like, for the Eagles
and Chiefs, You're like, week, Yeah, both were right at
the back.

Chiefs, if you want to look at the pill, the
Eagles got damn near every call and right it was
called right other than the first two. Once they settled in,
you'll never have the playing favorites because it wouldn't have mattered.
The Eagles stole their soul last night in that football game.

I think this is the first time in a very
very very very long time where I've watched the game
with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelsey where
I thought, man, they just don't look prepared, and they
look they don't prepared. An old Destrian like Travis Kelsey
was not existent. And you said it just a couple
of minutes ago. When in the hell do you ever

see DeAndre Hopkins drop a wide open pass, So not.

Only drop it, but it looked like he'd never caught
a ball before. It was tripped over his feet and
then just kind of flailed his arm up and it
was weird.

It was as if you know how some people you
throw ball and they bat it down, didn't want to
catch it. And the guy's been so reliable his whole career,
just from the get go, and when you come out
of the tunnel and you send that message early, it did.
They they looked and then they looked to me like
they Phildelphie got in their head early. They're scrambling around

looking for stuff, and every time the ball was snapped,
Philly was either playing in the backfield batting balls down.
Mahomes like late to the flat on the interception, I mean,
he just did not or it's on the on the
fourth down knockdown with the ball. I mean, he just
he was not the same he made. He's listening, he's
so gifted. Nobody's good. This doesn't ruin what they've had,
what they've done. But I'm going to tell you something

that that was. That was a pro I could have
got twenty eight thirty teams to give you. Yeah that
I don't like to say effort because I know they're
playing hard, but they looked If I didn't know it
was the Chiefs and Andy Reid's team and Mahomes, I
would have said that team's not ready for prime time.
They were overwhelmed, and it looked to me like they

I mean, I don't know if if optics are coming
out of the ring, and you know how when somebody
Mike Tyson used to sprint from his corner and I
mean he'd get right into it in a fight when
he was in his prime, and the other guy in
the other corner's like, do I even want to get
up from this chair before that guy comes and knocks back.

That's what it felt like. It felt.

I mean, it was it felt like they knew, fear was.
It was weird because that team and then even when
they're down a couple of touchdowns, you think, don't worry this,
They're gonna.

first or second it was in the first half. Uh,

When have you ever seen that from him? Exactly?

That's my That was gonna be my question. What was
the last time you saw that from him? He knew,
he knew early on.

I think they're down seventeen to nothing after the pick six,
and they queue to him and he was walking with
that big ass Denny's menu clapping, Hey, let's go, let's go.

On the other Sady, he's always up and down in
the guy's approach different. Andy Reid had more emotion in
the first half of that game then he's had in.

It was almost as if deep down he thought after
it got going, we had almost felt like I saw
this coming after the way we practiced. I don't know
how they practiced, but yeah, I've seen that movie where
we come out and say, man, it's kind of people
were kind of lollygagging through practice, or somebody comes out
and punching their mouth and say, I can't believe who
would have thought the Chiefs would have looked and played

overwhelmed in a football game.

It really was. I mean it was there. It was no,
it was a no.

They left nothing to chance, and you talk about putting
a cleat on somebody's throat, but Andy was more. It
was almost like he was trying to salvage them early on,
save him, like, guys, we got to get rolling back
into the good stuff or we're going to be in trouble. Well,
they could never get off the canvas. They got hit
with standing eight count of about four times in the
first quarter, and I thought it was over.

I sent you guys a text in the middle of
the second quarter, said, guy said, at least you get
a good night's sleep or would I say, yeah, at
least to better exactly right. Yeah, And then it just
became background noise in the second half because there was
never a I guarantee though. After they scored and we
scored two and it got your people are like, oh,
here they go and they missed the two piket version.

It was like, now they put a stop to that
because they responded on the other end. Man, everything cheat
the Philadelphia want to do. On both sides of all
they did other than Barkley dominating, but he still made
an impact.

I caught the ball on the backfield. Isn't selfish.

He made an impact because his presence on the field
allowed other guys to when we talk, you're going to
see some single coverage those it over the top. DeVante
Adams gets his cup boom touchdown. They got to see
what they wanted to see and they closed it out.
The Chiefs just couldn't close it out last Smith. And
there was that, didn't I say, DeVante Adams Adams, Yeah,

DeVante Smith, DeVante somewhere else on the house, Aaron Rodgers,
but that it was this was the Eagles. There's not
you can't come in this say well, this was happened
this adverse? They got beat up. Yeah, as simple, it
was a fistfight that the other team couldn't handle. It
was it was Leon Spinks getting knocked or Michael Spinks
getting knocked out by Tyson in ninety one sevens.

I thought what happened? I really thought.

At one point in the third quarter, before they had
finally scored, I was like, dude, these guys even gonna
score today or we're about to see a shutout? Is
gonna be like forty five nothing at the end?

Shut out with no blitzing and you still dominate it.

And then Tom Brady read a stat during the game
that Vic Fangio's defense this year for the Eagles, they
they blitzed twenty percent of the time.

Yeah, And they they didn't don't bliss a lot, but
they blitzed far more in other games than they do
in this one. But they had a plan, and you
want to talk about working your plan to perfection, they did.

They they did, and Kansas City got waxed. I felt
all along that, you know, Kansas City should didn't.

Belong in that game. They just didn't.

I think that, you know, the Texans should have won.
I think, you know, Buffalo shold won. I mean, every
every game that Kansas City played, there's always controversial. So anyways,
they got theirs and I was never more excited about
a Super Bowl game than I was last night.

The second point I want to make is, uh, it
gets back to the defensive coordinator.

Now, you notice that these teams that have won.

Or that get to the big dance, you know, like
you look at Las Vegas got Chip Kelly, and you know,
the outlooked for Las Vegas I think looks outstanding because
of that. You know, the Eagles got Vic Fangio, Kansas
City's got Spagnolo. These are guys that have been around,
that are proven, that have been winners wherever they've been.
And the Texans I just feel blew a chance to

do that. I wish they would have really tried to
get Chip Kelly or somebody really good that was proven.

And right now we don't know, we don't know what
the outlook is. I mean, we're all full of hope,
but I just wish they wouldn't take chances.

I wish they would like get serious and get some
really good people, good proven people here. And you know
last night was a good and you look at you
see that every year in every Super Bowl, you know,
they all have good, proven coordinators.

Texans and uh that's about it. I wanted to make
those two points and it was a great win. I
loved the game that the refs let them play. And

there's I mean, these hires and Kellen Moore is going
to be the Saints new head coach. That's what they're
waiting on. So he'll leave again Philadelphia after a Super

Bowl appearance. This one they want is going to lose
their offensive coordinator. I wouldn't imagine Vic Fangiel is going
to get a head coaching job after this, But you
keep him as long as, paying whatever you need to
to make sure he doesn't retire to that he loves
football because this was personal him. Last time he was there,
he got beat. They got beat as a coordinator in
Super Bowl, So yeah, good on them. John makes a

I know that we get some young guys that are awesome,
but it's hard to replace experience in big games. Even
though there was a lot more youth, you know, defense
like Kellen Moore has been calling him for a while,

But yeah, the Chiefs I'm going to right now.

You know, Kelsey's every year you get a little older.
The hunger factor it did looked like the It felt
like the three peat. More people were talking about it.
The Chiefs didn't play like they were trying to repeat,

of the game looked different. But it wasn't just optics.
It was deep down in there. Like I said, it

Yesterday the Eagles were not getting out of that building
without a winning it was. The score was even the
ass kicking was worse than the score. Yeah, yeah, it was.
They got a couple of big plays down the field.

Ay they pulled up an aerial shot of Patrick Mahomes
on one of the plays and Tom Brady was pointing
out the way the defenders were coming in from the
defensive line for the Eagles, and then they ran it
kind of in slow mo. I honestly, I don't like
Patrick Mahomes. His feet were so skittish last night, dude.

He was all over the place in the pocket, dude,
dancing around like he looked so worried about that pass rush.
He had no idea what was going on. And you
don't say that very much about him.

So the first time I've seen him for the most
part in the game, other than you know, the one
run where he kept going and cut back inside and
then there was a holding penalty on the play.

Anyway, it's the one time I've seen him.

He didn't get any help, much help from his friends
but we criticize other quarterbacks and so he's not above it.

He's got all the Listen, he's got more praise than
anybody in the planet the last eight years, okay, without question.
So he's not above criticism and he deserved it. In
this game, their line wasn't any good.

He yanked the one that Kelsey into the ground, forced
one scrambling to his right for a pick even though
he got hit and the thing threw the pick down
in the red zone. Patrick Mahomes was not good in
this game. He made a few spectacular plays, which he'll
do every game, but he wasn't And it's okay. I mean,
you're gonna if he doesn't play well and he can't
run it, you're not winning, especially when the other team's
doing what they're doing defensively. But they it's the first

Yeah, there were two passes that I vividly remember Travis Kelce.
I mean he yanked it straight in the ground like

And then there was another play, I think early in
the third quarter. He's trying to hit Hopkins and it
wasn't even close and the same thing. Hopkins looked back
to him like, what the.

did not play well.

He didn't And it it the decisions and watching his
that they came out early, sent the message and he
could he nor could the team recover. But it's the
first time did I did. I felt like, Oh, I
see guys like this every Sunday playing like this, right.
Just he was just a guy. Yeah, and that's that

has a lot to do with the way Philadelphia. Oh yeah,
he was. He was just a guy in the game.
So there they listen, they got beat up. And with
all the compliments we give him over the years, they
can take some criticism. But this is going to be
something they're going to have to recover from quickly. Because
I watched Seattle. Now it's a little different. Get get
old and decimated quickly. After their Super Bowl win. I

know they got back, but the win they got back
in that Super Bowl win, they never recovered from. I
mean the loss loss. Yeah, the Malcolm Butler played to go.
They didn't recover and while they were good, and then
the defense wanted everybody wanted more money, and everybody started
go and move on. And I'm not saying that could,
but the Chiefs. The goal in the the in the
AFC is everybody now is looking at saying, and you

watch tape, you're gonna say they're they're beatable. And they
were a bunch as they just found ways to win,
but this was they left no doubt. They choked them
out in this game and it was impressive. It was blatant,
and it was something that you don't I'm not sure
if you're the Chiefs you want anything to do with
that tape until you got six months down the road
to remind you before the season starts, to get your

motivation up. How about vic fan jail the week this
week showed his defense the performance the last time he
was in a Super Bowl if his team getting beat
as a coordinator, and I guess as you heard the
broadcast last night, that you could hear a pin drop
in the meeting room as if, oh yeah, and they can't.

I think the craziest thing about that entire game. They

pressure on the Texans to not allow it to kind

that's a that's a tough clause in the contract.
