Evening from Camp Randalls Stadium in Madison, alongside Mark Toucher,
Patrick Kerr, Bill Schmid, Dave McCann, and back of our
network studio is Morgan. Morgan words he back of our
network studio, we got a new guy back there.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
There you go. This is Matt Lepeye.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
We bid you welcome to Wisconsin football homecoming nights here
in Madison as the Badgers try to do something they
haven't done in fourteen years, and that's knockoff a top
five team. When last it happened was twenty ten when
the Badgers defeated number one Ohio State. They get another

(01:53):
at bat here tonight against the unbeaten and third ranked
Penn State Nitney Lyons. Penn State comes to town six
and zero off of a bye. The Badgers are five
and two, three and one and Big Ten play. And
we've talked about it for a few weeks now, the
Badgers with wins against Purdue, against Rutgers last week at Northwestern.

(02:15):
Kudos to Wisconsin. They've made it a big game. I
think we're gonna have a pretty good atmosphere here tonight.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
Tell the atmosphere it's Halloween.

Speaker 7 (02:22):
You got a little bit of crispness in the air,
but just looking and you know, for people that haven't
been to a game, you get the little video stream
going with all these great highlights, and I think it's
always exciting when you know you could be in a
position to add to that lore and get up on
that jumbo tron next time tonight.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
You have that opportunity.

Speaker 7 (02:40):
And for this cast of you know, this group of men,
you've had some ups and downs and you have fought
through and now you've put yourself, as you put it, Matt,
in a position you have to earn these big game opportunities.
Now you have Penn State's a really good football team,
but just talking and kind of being around it.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
This week, you get the sense that every buddy.

Speaker 7 (03:00):
Is just waiting for the moment, and this moment is
coming in about five minutes.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
You get the sense that the belief is growing here
about how they go about their business. A lot of
positive results here so far in the month of October.
Let's take a look at our Keys to the Game
presented by your Badger Land Chevy Dealers in the All
Dude twenty twenty five Chevy Equinox tous How do they
keep those good vibes going here tonight.

Speaker 7 (03:23):
I said this earlier. This is a phone booth game.
Penn State is they're athletes everywhere. They have guys that
are going to be playing on Sunday. They have great
you know, guys that can move around and do all
this stuff. So what you want to do, as from
Wisconsin standpoint, you want this thing physical and ugly and
have your guys up front, if you can lead from

(03:44):
that side of it, stay in.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Normal down a distance.

Speaker 7 (03:47):
But this has to be we have to have find
no shadow of doubt at the end of this game.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Safe the group and all red.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
And you could say, if you like that or not,
the group in all red needs to be more physical
than the group in all white.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
And if that's the case, great things can happen.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Tonight.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Penn State coming off the by two weeks ago, they
were out at the LA Coliseum, found themselves down fourteen points, rallied,
and then in the second half a couple of game
on the line fourth down plays that they converted drew
Aller connections with Julian Fleming. They kick a field goal
to tie, and then get a stop of USC and

(04:23):
overtime and get a field goal to win it thirty
three to thirty, so Penn State six and zero for
the second consecutive season where Badgers come in five and two.
Here tonight, the captain's about ready to meet at midfield
the honorary captain tonight. Monte Ball set the NCAA career
touchdown record in a game at Penn State in twenty twelve.

(04:48):
They nope, bones about it. He is thrilled to be
back here. He's a UW Athletics Hall of Famer. When
he got the call saying he'd be a captain, honorary
captain tonight, he was thrilled.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Great to see Monte back here.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
What a rod goodness, crazy, crazy good Let's send it
down on the field for the toss of the coin.
Brian Banks is the voice you'll hear. He is the
referee here tonight.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Jeleman, welcome. It's a great night for football ways. Brian
Banks'll be a referee.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
It's Tim Goverer is your umpire.

Speaker 8 (05:24):
The remainder of our crew is split between your respected sidelines,
Penn State.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
You're the visitors, therefore you get to call the toss.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
I got heads tails.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
What's your called tails?

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Tails?

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Is called it is tails? You defer, Let's take the ball, correct,
which way do.

Speaker 8 (05:44):
You want to kick?

Speaker 3 (05:46):
All right?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
All right, Penn State has deferred, so the Badgers will
receive to begin the game fifty one degrees here at kickoff,
a clear sky, calm wind. It'll be about forty degrees,
they tell us by the end of the game. It
is a beautiful night for football, beautiful late October evening
in Madison, Wisconsin. The Badgers with the Cardinal jerseys and

(06:08):
the Cardinal pants here tonight, the white trim. Penn State
with the old school classic uniforms, the white unis and
the blue trim. As we are about set to go
Wisconsin and Penn State here at Camp Randall Stadium.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
I don't mind that we lost the toss.

Speaker 7 (06:25):
I think typically you want to see how the game flows.
I think this is one of those let's send a statement,
we're gonna get this thing going, and you really want
to kind of put that out there. I like that
this is the case now, especially if we don't go
three and out. But this is one of those let's
set a tone, and when you can do that, even
more so, when you.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Get the kick, send it down on the field and
check in with our sideline reporter Patrick Kurve.

Speaker 9 (06:49):
Oh, it's a fun night to be at Camp Randa,
and this is an awesome space to be surrounded by
seventy five thousand fans tonight. And this team knows that
Jake Cheney joked this week that they started calling themselves
the eleven am Boys because they kept getting put at
that time.

Speaker 10 (07:03):
Slot for the last five games were there.

Speaker 9 (07:06):
And they've kind of taken that as we're the underdogs, nobody.

Speaker 10 (07:09):
Thinks anything of us. They want to keep that chip
on their shoulder.

Speaker 9 (07:12):
They also know that they want to re establish the
home field advantage of Camp Randall.

Speaker 10 (07:17):
The Badgers are five.

Speaker 9 (07:17):
And five in their last ten Big Ten home games,
and they know that this building can create magic like
it will tonight.

Speaker 10 (07:24):
But they have all said, to a man, and this.

Speaker 9 (07:26):
Is Hunter Woller's quote, we have to make plays. We
have to find ways to get the crowd engaged. They're
going to be hit it from the start. What can
we do to spark it even more?

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Dave wof Sue six six, two hundred and eighty five pounds,
he's the kickoff man for Penn State. Vinnie Anthony kid
Yacabelli are deep Badgers will receive go right to left
as we see it, that is south to north at
Camp Randalls Stadium. Woe sue on the approach and the
kick is in the air and Anthony will let it
sail over his head to the back line of the

(07:56):
end zone for a touchback, and we are underway at
bury Eyrez Field at Camp Randall Stadium.

Speaker 7 (08:02):
To kind of jump off of what Patrick is saying,
you heard Luke Fickel this week also say it's great
you have this night game, this great atmosphere that we've
all described, but you have to take advantage of it.
You have to also bring that to let this great
crowd that wants to be a difference maker bring that energy.
And you have to do that by being successful.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Tah Wee Walker gets the call at running back. There's
been a hot running back here in the month of October.
Two receivers to the left, one to the right. Will
Pauling slot left for the twenty five yard line. First
play from scrimmage as Pauling in motion to the right
and Locke will throw it to him in a high
pass that buzzes incomplete. Maybe a little too much excitement

(08:42):
there with Bradon Locke as that pass well off the
mark and it's second and ten for the Badgers at
their own twenty five yard line.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
Just a little bit of motion there pulled it from
Walker had the easy throw and that's hey, there's a
lot of excitement.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Everybody's amped up. Lock is as well.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Way over. Just get back on the ball.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Pauling slot left, walk into the right of the running back,
lock back to throw for him. Man rush and that
passes again, sailing well over everybody incomplete down the left sideline.
There was no one in the zip code there, and
it's third and ten at the Wisconsin twenty five yard line.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Miscommunication there with Vine Anthony.

Speaker 7 (09:21):
I think Locke obviously was thinking he was going to
run a go route down the sideline. He stopped his
route short. Brayden just fired it up there and it
fell to the turf.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
And this is what you don't want. Third and ten
for the twenty five yard line. Penn State crowding the box,
Keekahuna and CJ. Williams to the right, will Pauling, Vinnie
Anthony to the left. White clock is at seven and
now we have penalty markers flying.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
And Jack moved a little early.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Yep, Wisconsin, one of the least penalized teams in the country.
But an early infraction here and it's third down and
fifteen Andrew's up to their twenty yard line.

Speaker 7 (10:02):
Penn State, they do not do a ton of blitzing.
They showed there and their stud number eleven of dual Carter.
He is gonna move around. They like to flex him,
and you have to be alert where he's at. Guys
are gonna get a little jumpy. Really putting a lot
on Renfro, making sure he gets his IDs, getting make
sure the line knows where they're sliding their protection.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Three receivers left, one on the right walker. They're running
back third and fifteen Wisconsin, and it's own twenty four
man rush lock throwing over the middle clock by Anthony
twenty five thirty Anthony thirty five yard line head up
to the forty and a first down hut a gain
of twenty hunt third and fifteen, first and ten Wisconsin
for the Badger's forty yard line.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
No getting third long. We set up third and long.

Speaker 7 (10:43):
Good protection up front, just a quick, easy slant and
Penn State didn't rally that football. Nice job of picking
up that first down.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Tree receivers right one on the left snap the lock.
He'll hand it to toa Wie Walker trying to bounce
it to his left. Nothing there as Zachy Wheatley out
of the secondary comes up to make the hit right
at the line of scrimmage. Second down coming up for
Wisconsin just underway here in Madison.

Speaker 7 (11:05):
Be gonna be a really interesting how Wisconsin attacks this
great athletic group that Penn State has. On defense, you
want to get north and south quick. You don't want
to spend a lot of time moving laterally with all
this athleticism that they have.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Two receivers right one on the lefts Tucker ashcrafts wing
on the right side. Walker will shift to the left
of Bryton Locke on the second and temp of the
Badgers forty yard line. Handoff Walker up the middle across
the forty to the forty one yard line and that's it.
Short gain on the play sets up third down and
nine four Wisconsin. Koziah Lizard on the defensive line makes

(11:40):
the stop for the Nyney Lions.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
They have dudes all over the place.

Speaker 7 (11:44):
I'm gonna be watching number eleven a lot because he
is such a great player.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
But they have a lot of stout, physical players as well.

Speaker 7 (11:52):
You really are gonna have your hands full getting movement,
trying to create some space.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
So far, not great upfront.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Four receivers, three on the right, one on the left.
Third and nine Wisconsin with the Badger's forty one yard line.
Walker is the running back. Wisconsin comes into the game
forty four percent on third down, that is eighth in
the conference. Here's gonna snap the lock on third down.
Throws over the middle, It buzzes incomplete past will pauling
coverage from aj Harris, and the Badgers will punts.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
On fourth and nine at their own forty one yard line.

Speaker 7 (12:21):
Oh, we joked a little bit on third and fifteen.
It's a no big deal. You're not gonna want to
continue to be in these third and five pluses. And
you know Wisconsin was able to get one on the
first time around. But if you're living in third and
eight plus, that's exactly what Penn State is hoping for.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Atticus Bertrams is on the punt Zion Tracy deep for
Penn States.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
We're the fifteen yard line snafter.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Bertram's pressure on you boys, the rush run the running
well forty forty five fifty Bertram's to the forty five.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
And gets blasted out of bounds by Dominic.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
De Luca Atoicus Bertrams were the best punts are the
ones you don't punt, because that one was.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Gonna get gob he ate it.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
He ran it first down Wisconsin at the Penn State
forty four.

Speaker 7 (13:05):
Wow, what a great heads up just being a football player.
Wisconsin does not pick up one of their gunners he
comes into.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
It would have been an easy block. Lorden knows what
would have happened.

Speaker 7 (13:17):
He actually pulls in headfakes, was gonna punt it again, and.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
He looked up and I can see Matt.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
Lapace and run because there's nobody there. And he does
a great job taking at green space.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Great play, fifteen yard run hand off Walker up the
medal forty cutting right thirty five, dives down to the
thirty four yard line of Penn stage Zachy Wheatley on
the tackle gain of ten. They were signaling first down
and it is first in ten Wisconsin. Quite three hundreds
gone by. We have no score.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
And that's the thing.

Speaker 7 (13:47):
Penn State likes, moving their guys around, slanting guys different things.
You catch them in that little gap scheme there nice
ten yard pick up.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Shot gunstamp lock clay fake dlops the throw looking fires
left side ashcraft in complete near the ten yard line.
On the near side, Jalen Reed, one of the safeties
on the coverage. Second down and ten for the Badgers
at the Penn State thirty four.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
I think one of the things Brayden has to continue
to work. You have to understand the Russia. That was
a early first down pass. You're hoping for really good
stout protection. We've seen that against Northwestern Penn State with
the the athletes that they have. Clock gets sped up
a little bit. You have to find that rhythm into
a game. So far one of five he did make

(14:29):
the one good throw, but that's feeling that rush early.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Two receivers right one on the left he got Williams
of Pauling and the rights Vinty Anthony on the left.
Snapped the lock, looks the throw at a deep drop,
checks it down, caught by Walker right side thirty five
yard line and is able to brush off a defender
and squeeze the yard out of it. That went from
a minus one to a plus one and his third
and nine for the Badgers of the Penn State thirty
three yard line.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
That's one of those hits that Walker just gave that. Yeah,
you only ended up picking up one or two extra yards,
but that's safet see that corner is gonna look at it.
He just burrowed down and made contact, bringing that physicality.
That's the stuff that these guys remember when it's the second, third.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
And fourth four.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
He brought it to cam Miller. There, third down and
nine for the Badgers of the Penn State thirty three
yard line. Three receivers left, one of the right snap
the lock, looking under pressure, dances right, throws right, rolling catch,
no catch as CJ. Williams unable to gather Elliott Washington
over there on the coverage. And it's now fourth and
nine from the Penn State thirty three yard line. They're

(15:31):
gonna send out Nathaniel Vacos and it's gonna be a
pretty good polk. But Vacos has shown the ability to
do this. This will be at closer to fifty one
yards on the attempt, and it's a calm win. This
will be a fifty yard try right hash Mark VCOs
With along this season of fifty three, he is six

(15:53):
to ten overall fifty yard try right, hash lines are down,
here's the snap ball down is in the year and
it is good riccas from fifty yards away and the
Badgers have the first points of the Knights, and those
points brought to you in large part by Atticus Bertram's

(16:15):
who turned what was a hot mess into a fifteen
yard game of the first down and the Badgers get
three out of it all. Tonight's game is sponsored by
Nikolay Lowell winning four Wisconsin since two thousand and seven.
Get the Beard, get the win, eleven h five left
of the first quarter, Wisconsin three, Penn State nothing. This

Speaker 9 (18:40):
One of my guilty pleasures down here is watching guys
react when things that maybe aren't scripted happen and they
start re enacting him on the bench. That's what's happening
right now all over with Atticus Bertrams. He's walking up saying,
do you see when I sidestep that guy in that
little juke I had? He did take a pretty good
shot at the end of that run, though, but he's
just fine. He's I heard him say something about rugby

(19:01):
in Australia, so I think he has to find football player.

Speaker 7 (19:04):
That was a the definition of a football player being
a football player.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
That set up the Vakos field goal. As Gavin Lombs
set the kickoff, Nicholas Singleton is deep, kick is on
the way return chance if he wants it. Singleton right
side of three to the five right side ten tries
to kick it out to the right side and he
is cut down by Preston Zachman in kick coverage at
the eighteen yard line of Penn State territory. Excellent coverage

(19:32):
from Wisconsin at Ford scoring drive for the Badgers. Twelve plays,
forty two yards, took three minutes and fifty five seconds.

Speaker 7 (19:41):
We keep hearing Luke Fickle talk about complimentary football, and
that was it right there. The offense gets a first
down but then struggles, but then is able to have
the special teams lift him up, go down and get points. Now,
set up your defense in a good spot inside the
twenty on Penn States first trimetron.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
Allen is the running back Tyler Warren right now motions
to the formation. Drew Aller takes the snap, takes the handoff,
rolls to Warren and he gets belted by Fort Karen
had his cut down with Hunter Wohller helping out at
the twenty yard line on a gain of two.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
You know that they're going to try to get him
the football.

Speaker 7 (20:15):
We've all heard about his stat line seventeen catches at
the US see that time. Just a little motion, quick
little pullback, trying to get him out in space for
Kreen right there, bounced off but was able to bring
it off and then Wooler finished him off.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
To receivers lefts one on the right, Nicholas Singleton slot left,
Allen the running back. Singleton motions right. Here's a handoff
k Tron Allen over the left side, gets stood up
with the twenty two yard line and he will fall
forward for another yard up to the twenty three. It
was Jake Cheney or check that Jahan Thomas getting in

(20:49):
there for Wisconsin and Penn State as a third and
five at its own twenty three.

Speaker 7 (20:53):
Kind of saw Penn State using both of their backs
there the little jet motion coming back to fake it Wiscott's.
He did a very nice job of staying home and
now setting up this third long.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Then stay forty eight percent on third down, fourth best
in the conference. Third and five the Nitney Lions twenty
three yard line. Three receivers right, one on the left,
Allen in the backfield. Drew Aller balls for the ball,
gets the snaff, Badgers send three. Aller flushed to his
right looking throwing right side. Fleming makes the catch at

(21:26):
the thirty nine yard line and a first down for
Penn States.

Speaker 7 (21:32):
Aller did a really nice job there of reorganizing his
route what he was doing and then was able to
flush out. Wisconsin got a little bit of pressure, but
he was able to step out to the right, keeping
his eyes down the field. Thought he was gonna run
Darryl Peterson closing in on him, and he made a
nice throw to pick.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
Up the first down.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Nine fourteen left, first quarter, three nothing, Wisconsin first and
ten Penn s Day from his own thirty nine yard line.
Three receivers, including Tyler warrant out to the left, Kate
tron Allen motions out of the backfield, empty backfield, Harrison
Wallace is out wide to the right on first and
ten Aler looks right on the slant that's caught by
Wallace across midfield. Fort Greene takes him down at the

(22:09):
forty eight of Wisconsin, a gain of thirteen and a
first down for the Ndney line.

Speaker 7 (22:13):
That's just you said it. They overloaded to the left,
had four bodies over there. Wisconsin obviously had to put
bodies over there as well, and they just went back
to the short side of the field with a quick
slant one on one coverage and that was easy pickings
there for holur Ben.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
State averages thirty four points a game, fourth best in
the league, eighteenth nationally Dntey Lyons are on the move
with the Badger forty eight yard line first and ten
Warren slot right, motions into the backfield.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Roller of the quarterback takes the snap.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
He'll give it to Allen over the left side of
the line, bouncing it out to his left inside the
forty five and take it down near the forty two
yard line of Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
We would work there.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
After contact from k Tron Allen on the gain of
six and Penn State right back on the ball. Three
receivers right, two receivers left. Aler gets of the high snap,
looks the throw, stands at the fifty, shuffles to his
left under pressure. Darryl Peterson wraps him up and he'll
throw him down at the forty five yard line.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (23:09):
Unfortunately, Penn State went temple, Wisconsin was unable to.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Get their last guy off the field.

Speaker 8 (23:14):
So there's talk, Yeah, twelve mil to build us down
the five yard pillary results in a first down.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
So a couple of penalties early on here for Wisconsin
seven fifty six left in the opening quarter, three nothing.
The Badger's freshout of downs. Now for Penn State at
the Wisconsin thirty seven yard line.

Speaker 7 (23:33):
That's been a fun cat and mouse deal the last
couple of weeks we've seen and Penn State went a
little up temple there and if they don't sub, you
gotta get off the field.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
Or you don't sub. In that case, Wisconsin got caught.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
They'll go empty again.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
Two receivers left, two receivers right, Tyler Warren wing on
the left side. K Tron aled wide right, motions left
to throw left side. That's caught by Warren inside the
thirty five yard line, as rustled out of bounds by
Preston Zackman at the thirty two yard lines, acting the
Pennsylvanian Native gain of five second down for Penn State

(24:07):
at the Wisconsin thirty two.

Speaker 7 (24:09):
I talked about phone booth. You're seeing what Penn State
is doing here. They're spreading it out. They've been empty.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
They're trying to get everything out in space, getting manned
to man one on one coverage and trying to find
ways to get more in their great tight end and
as many one on one situations as possible.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Big Ol'd lineman, you'll want a slot to the right,
motions to the formation. Here's a toss to Allen inside
the thirty yard line, working over the right side of
the offensive line of Penn State. Down on the twenty
seven of Wisconsin. Should be a first down, maybe a
little bit short. It is going to be short. Third
down coming up for Penn State. Six forty five left

(24:46):
opening quarter three nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
It kind of reminds you the old you give me
days way back in the day, where you get a
really big offensive lineman, get him coming full speed. That
was their trying to seal the defensive end, bring him down,
then tossing the ball out.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
They picked up fourth.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
I go with the extra tackle.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
On third down, Aler to throw looking, has plenty of time,
throws on the left side wide open. Fleming dropped the
ball half the ten yard line. So on third and
short they go to the air and Fleming just flat
out dropped it. But it will now be fourth and short.
The offense days of the field.

Speaker 7 (25:23):
That was the case where Wisconsin had a lot of
men up on the fits trying to stop the run
and Aler did a good job of just waiting and
waiting and he wide opened.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
That was a gift to drop them one.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
We're four out of five. On fourth down, I'll try
to sneak for it. How Drew Aller is a big guy,
and he may not have made it the way the
officials are running up the line they needed the thirty two.
Luke Fickle's gonna fight for his guys right now, and
let's see where the spot's gonna be. You got a
big old pile of bodies out there right now, as

(25:57):
Penn State just tried to muscle its way for about foot.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
And they did not make it.

Penn State on a fourth down less than a foot
that was Kurt Neil getting in there and blowing up
the play. Wisconstable takeover at it's twenty eight yard line,
first and ten.

Speaker 7 (28:36):
Well do you get the big drop? On third and
one and Penn State went for the juggular. They tried
to make a big play. He drops it and then
they go old school Philadelphia, let's tush push load it up.
And I think it was Kurt Neil that did a
just an unbelievable job of submarining under the center.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
It all starts there.

Speaker 7 (28:55):
If you can get just a little push and get
some reinforcements to come in time stop on fourth and short.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Six fifteen left in the first quarter. Three nothing, Wisconsin.
We're eating the lock in the Wisconsin offense back out
there now, Dinny Anthony will pauling out to the rights.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
It's all we Walker is the running backs off the rockfield.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Give it to Walker off the middle, across the thirty
and up to about the thirty two yard line. On
a game of four, that will be king a linebacker
first on the scene, second down on six four Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
I think that's gonna be your formula tonight. Is just
getting north and south. I think when you're starting to
bounce and pull a bunch of guys, you're gonna end
up playing right to what Penn State wants to do.
Be physical, get north and south, keep it in that interior,
and let's let Walker work.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Double live to the ride.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
On second down, lock the threed, Walker again trying to
get a little burst, bounces off a defender across the
thirty five and up to the thirty six yard line.
Un tall, we Walker is delivering some blows here in
this first quarter.

Speaker 7 (29:53):
He's making guys well, you're seeing him continue to churn
his feet. There's a nice drop by Ashcraft to getting
out there kicking it out, allowing Walker to go up
and then again, not just letting one guy bring him down.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
He's running his feet and he's making these.

Speaker 7 (30:07):
Defenders think about that physicality that he's bringing to it.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Gerry On Duprie, the running back, now double wide to
the left, hash strap the tied end motions to the right.
There's the handoff to Dupree, fighting for the first down,
and he's going to get it. I believe he needed
the thirty eight. He got to about the thirty eight
and a half, maybe the thirty nine first down Wisconsin.
That's a good strong run by the true freshman in

(30:31):
some heavy traffic.

Speaker 7 (30:33):
Renfro did a fantastic job at his center spot. His
linebacker shot, so he initially went to the down man,
but got enough on their linebacker to push it to
let dupre pick.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
That first round thirty nine of Wisconsin, first and ten
Yasover's left well on the right to three is still
the running back, and he gets the hand off over
the right side of the line. He'll twist up to
about the forty and that's it. A gain of one.
Tony Rojas a linebacker gitting in there for Penn States
Jalen Reid Kozizard as well Israd aligneman read one of

(31:06):
the safety. Second down and nine for the Badgers, four
twenty left of the first quarter, three nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
They reed caught him from the backside.

Speaker 7 (31:13):
You pull guys and you allow some of that backside
guys to become part of the play if you bounce
it a little bit. That Penn State did a good
job of making them bounce.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Oh, we walked her back in a running back play.
Fake Lock loose throws over the meadow and it's through
the hands of Will Pauling a little high, but catch
a bull at midfield and it's third and nine for
the Badgers their own forty yard line.

Speaker 5 (31:33):
A little high, is right.

Speaker 7 (31:34):
I think that ended up hitting Will in the hands,
and you're always nervous, especially on throws over the middle,
that ball gets tipped up or it goes back. That's
where you know the safeties can make plays in that.
That's a ball. I think Will's got to come down with.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Grade Lock two of eight's here so far this opening quarter.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Third and nine for the Badgers their own forty yard lines,
lot left, slot right, walk her to the left of
Brayton Lock, who gets the snap Penscape bringing three Lock
flush to his right flag down passes caught by Kakahuna
into Penn State territory. But there's a penalty marker in
the Wisconsin backfield and the mean van over one of
the defensive linemen's signal, and this is going to come back.

Speaker 8 (32:14):
Here's the call holding offense number seventy nine, ten yard
pilly for the previous spot.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
It's still third down, so right now, third and long
here for Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
We talked about again the scenario you do not want
to be in ever, but especially against a defense like
Penn States.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
Yeah, that was just a really nice move by their
defensive end.

Speaker 7 (32:38):
He beat Jack Nelson inside, and as much as I
love defending offensive.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Linemen, hey tackle him. You got your feet.

Speaker 7 (32:46):
If you lose with your feet and you're reaching, you're
gonna get a.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Flat and the Badger's thirty yard line third down in
nineteen Pauling loops in motion, rock throws and it's caught
by Anthony over the middle across the thirty five and
it gets topped down by the corner at Washington at
the thirty eight yard line was Concert territory, and that's
fourth down at eleven. As Atticus Bertram's onto either punch
or word again.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Yeh, that's some of our best offense so far.

Speaker 7 (33:11):
Birchrims well Walker has now taking the lead with nineteen
carries or nineteen yards.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
Bertram's with that fifteen yard scamper.

Speaker 7 (33:18):
But you were gonna have a hard time if we're
gonna be sitting here third and eleven plus's gonna be
a tough night.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
Cig on Tracy deep and the Penn state eighteen yard
line snapped. The Bertrams pressure is light and the kick
is away, turns it over. Tracy backpedals and you'll feel
at the ten yard line running left, fifteen across the
twenty twenty five yard line brought down shy of the
thirty chuck that knee. I thought that knee may have
hit the turf.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
Certainly looked at the.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
Putt coover unit started to tap the brakes a little bit,
but at the moment Penn stayed with a nice return.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
There's also there's a penalty marker down as well.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
We'll sort that out as we continue drive on Wisconsin.

football from lear Feed. You mentioned that return looked a
little funky. It's because it was Zion Tracy actually did
have a knee on the ground as he caught the punt.
So Penn State will start at its ten yard line

(36:08):
first in ten two point fifty four left in the
opening quarter, three and nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (36:13):
It looked like that from the jump the Bertrams hit
a great punt, turned it over and it almost your
kind of wonder. Maybe Muffett he's running backwards and he
did his knee was there. The ref was right there.
Surprised he didn't. And then I thought, obviously Wisconsin's bench
not happy that they didn't call it. Looks like they
all figured it out, got it right. And you know
who was pointing it out from the jump, Oh Bert,

(36:35):
that's right.

Speaker 20 (36:35):
Fifty yards away. He saw it turned into a fifty
two yard punt. Nicholas Singleton is the running back. Two
receivers left, one on the rights, Omari Evans foot footing
receiver in motion now lines upslot on the right side.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
Drew Rollery of the quarterback takes a snap back to
throw time of the pocket left side passing or rolling
catch made just shy the twenty yard line. That's Harrison
Wallace at the nineteen yard line of the farest side,
gain of nine. Penn State back on the ball, second
and one. Yeah, this wide left, Evan Slott rights Julian
Fleming wide right out of the pistol. Here's the hand
off Singleton. He'll get the first down across the twenty

(37:11):
yard line up to the twenty two. Ben Barton on
the stop for Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (37:15):
Barton and their cheeks in there, and that's gonna be critical.
You're you're seeing what Penn State is trying to do.
They're isolating, they are trying to spread things out, find
one on one coverage wherever it's at.

Speaker 5 (37:27):
That's where they want to go.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
And you're if you're gonna do that, Wiscott's scaff the
load up in there and making sure they can still
stop the run.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Tyler Warren wing on the right side, two receivers left,
one on the rights, Singleton in motion, stamped the Aller
throws over the middle. Warren they catch across the thirty
yard line. Bounced away from Zachman the first time, but
Zackman will bring him down with help. It takes a
couple of guys Austin Brown in there as well. It's
a gain of at least eight, maybe nine, we'll say

(37:53):
nine to the thirty one of Penn State.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Second and one.

Speaker 7 (37:56):
You get see why he is visited looked at as
a big time prospect because he is not letting one
guy bring him down. Got that Bronco the Girsky feel
to him that he really does nothing is good.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
He's gonna try to run you over.

Speaker 7 (38:09):
He's gonna be athletic enough to get open, and he's
a real bear to get down in space.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Then and a half left of the first quarter.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
Three nothing Wisconsin, second and one Penn State for the
Ninney Lions, thirty one yard line, Singleton wide right, motions left.
He faked the Jets weak shovel pass up the middle,
warrant forty yard line to the forty five and brought
down to the forty six yard line at a first
down for Penn State.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
You're not crazy about that.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Left guard jump a false start. The left saw it,
they didn't call it.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
And they get on the balls.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
They're playing with tempo handoff Singleton up the middle and
wrapping around the hips. Is Austin Brown for Wisconsin of
the game of two to the forty eight yard line
of the Nitdney Lions.

Speaker 21 (38:48):
Second down and eats and and I was I'm looking
at it because he took two steps like he was
gonna throw the flag, and he just said let's let
it go.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Now.

Speaker 5 (38:56):
Obviously need tackle better than everything else. But if a
guy flinches and moves, you gotta called the penalty.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Now, the forty seconds left in the first quarter. Three
nothing Wisconsin, second and eight Penn State for the nine
Lions forty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
William Clifford out wide.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
To the left. He's in motion to the right. Yep,
that's Shawn's younger brother, Liam Clifford.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Paller.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
It's the hip Hie shotgun staff looking to throw four
man rush firing over the middle, and that is caught
by Khalil Dinkins their second tied end. He'll get the
first down. Zackman on the tackle at the thirty five
yard line of Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (39:27):
A lot of space just sat right in the whole
of that zone defense and Aler just stayed there. Way
too much protection there from Penn State.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Rapid fire offense. On first and ten, Aler looking tyd
pocket got away from Hills going right side wide open
twenty five twenty yard line. Singleton of the fifteen, Nicholas
Singleton inside the ten down to the eight yard line
of Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
First down goal to go Ford Penn State.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
Christian Allegro down there with Ricardo Hallman as we hit
the end of the first quarter of play. So Penn
State with some up tempo offense here and now as
a first in goal as we shift the.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Two that sure did.

We begin the second quarter Wisconsin three, Penn State nothing
but the Nitney lyons of a first and goal at
the eight yard line.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Just way too much comfortability for the offense.

Speaker 7 (43:12):
They're able to do what they want right now, and
they're they're getting you know, aller is nine out of
ten and the only ball that has not been completed
was a complete drop on a wide open play on
third and short. So right now, Penn State doing what
they want. Wisconsin a head three nothings, So you can
look at it that way, but have to get more
guys in that backfield right now.

Speaker 5 (43:32):
It's just everything is coming too easy from Penn State.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
Stamford one thirty one yards of offense for the Ninney
Lions sixty seven for the Badgers of the opening quarter.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
So here we go, first and goal.

Speaker 4 (43:46):
Both k Tron Allen and Nicholas Singleton are in the backfield,
Alan behind Drew Aller, Singleton to the left of the
quarterback Tyler Warren.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
The tied end.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Motions to the left. On first and goal, the hand
off to Kateron Allen trying the left side, turns it
back up hurt Neil slows him down and then covering
him up is Hunter Wohler along with Aaron Witz. They'll
mark at the six and again no huddle. Backing the
ball second in goal slot left slot right, snapped to
Aller looking to his right, throwing right side, ends on

(44:19):
it is cut touchdown Penn Stak Nicholas Singleton hanging on
as Penn state well. The first touchdown of the night.
Now leading six to three.

Speaker 5 (44:31):
That's a great throwing, a great catch at just a
corner route to that back. Pilon and Aller loft it
out there, put it up there. Hunter Wooler, with not
bad coverage, just missed on his swipe.

Speaker 7 (44:42):
He was there a little bit late and he was
able to haul it in on a really nice throw
by Aller.

Speaker 4 (44:47):
And They've talked about how much improved Singleton is catching
the ball, and man, that's a prime example is Ryan
Barker the left gyon to attempt the pat flinched day.

Speaker 7 (45:02):
They called this one, all right. I was wondering if
they were gonna call flinches tonight.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
Tash a little salty here tonight. Wow, Like it's.

Speaker 5 (45:11):
Thirteen yard run that should have never happened.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
Yeah, that's good point.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
So this will be a little further for the extra point,
a twenty five yarder.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Right.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
Barker was the star among the stars in that game
against USC the game winning field goal. Didn't start the
season in the role, but it's his now and handles
the point after here, there's the snap and the kick
is away and the kick is good, so we'll keep

(45:46):
it here. We're in the opening minute of the second quarter.
Fourteen thirty seven left in it, Penn State seven, Wisconsin
three at nine. Play, ninety yard drive that took three
minutes in one second. All after that punts that was
caught and Zion Tracy dropping to a knee, so didn't matter.

(46:07):
Drew Aller engineering a very impressive drop.

Speaker 5 (46:09):
He's looked really good, and that's a credit to him
in Penn State's offensive line. Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (46:15):
Obviously, anytime you come in to any game, whether it's
a big game or whatever, you want to stop the run,
and Wisconsin has done a good job so far. Seven
carries twenty yards or two point nine, so that's your
starting point. But Penn State is spreading it out and
they're gonna say, all right, we love this one on,
we love our one on one matchups.

Speaker 5 (46:33):
We don't think you can hold up out on the perimeter.
That's what I've learned from the first quarter of this play.

Speaker 7 (46:40):
And d're allers ten of eleven, a buck nineteen and
a beautiful touchdown throw. So Wisconsin's gonna have to figure
some different things up, whether it's heating him up, glitzing,
doing some different stuff because right now things are way
too comfortable for this offense.

Speaker 4 (46:54):
Finny Anthony k Jakamelli deep kick is in the air.
Return chance of Vinnie wantson he'll catch rightside the heaving
to the ten fifteen. It seemed to the twenty twenty
five thirty tennis sideline forty penalty marker flies Vinnie Anthony
inside the forty inside the thirty five yard line of
Penn State, but a penalty marker way back of the
Wisconsin twenty five yard line during.

Speaker 8 (47:20):
The return holding receiving team.

Speaker 5 (47:23):
I'm thirty eight.

Speaker 8 (47:28):
It's first down.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
Oh, that was a massive seam for Vinnie Anthony to
run through there. Yeah, I know the scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (47:41):
I don't know where the hold is that. I really don't.

Speaker 7 (47:44):
The ref that threw it was at the forty five
on the other side, there's four other guys. I you
call that and call a lot of stuff.

Speaker 5 (47:53):
I'm not, obviously not a fan of that. That is
very ticky tacking.

Speaker 4 (47:57):
All right, bad You're starting at their thirteen yard line
first and ten thirty one seconds gone by second quarters
seven to three penn State.

Speaker 3 (48:07):
So a big return wiped oubts.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
Gerry On Dupree, the running back tretch Kekahunah slot on
the right side walk looking to throw.

Speaker 3 (48:18):
Four man rush.

Speaker 4 (48:19):
Braydon throws left side, caught by dupre fifteen outside the
numbers twenty twenty five yard line, and derry On Dupree
fights his way across the twenty five up to about
the twenty seven yard line of the far side. First
down for the Badgers.

Speaker 7 (48:32):
Just love that element that Dupree has brought to this team,
and we saw it earlier in the season with the
skin of the slants across the middle.

Speaker 5 (48:39):
That time just a little swing route. Nice pickup.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
On first down, Pree stays in there. Two receivers left, CJ.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Williams out to the right in the Wisconsin twenty seven
yard line. Walk lay fake looking throwing left side and
it is not close from Kekahunah incomplete at the fifty.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
It's good work.

Speaker 4 (48:59):
Dejon leaned and looked like got in there to disrupt
for the Nitney Lions or check that cam Miller.

Speaker 5 (49:07):
Was very very tight throw on the hash right there,
that is very risky. Put them in a good spot
to catch it.

Speaker 7 (49:16):
Safety came across drill clear cleared the football out of
Kakahuna's answers.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
Receivers left, two receivers right, Kekahuna's lot left roots and
most of the right rock. Then second down throws a
dark over the metal Noah Kowski that catch and he
is chopped down by de Luca, the linebacker at the
thirty five yard line. Dominic de Luca the redyerd junior
on the stop gain of eight third down and two
for Wisconsin. We walk her back in for the Badgers.

(49:42):
Stay sub Penn State can do the samest the center
judge holding up the proceedings. Ben and a half gone
by second quarters seven to three Penn States third down
and two for the Badgers Wisconsin two out of five
and third down so far, they're at the thirty five
yard line right in the Lakowski Tucker Ashcraft two tight ends,

(50:03):
left side of the formation, handoff, locker up the middle, driving, driving,
needs another push and push he will, he'll get the
first down. Oh my goodness, that's a big boy three
yard run for tah Wee Walker.

Speaker 3 (50:19):
Penn State thought it. Adam stopped the yard short.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
Naturally, it's up to the thirty nine yard line and
that is a gain of four first and tent that was.

Speaker 5 (50:28):
Not blocked particularly well.

Speaker 7 (50:30):
Penn State brought a kind of a cross dog which
the linebackers came and basically unblocked Walker at the hole.
Was did not have the first down, kept turning his feet,
and then Rentfro came in shoving.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
Through on first down. Three receivers riding through the kakahuna
dropped the ball. Set up a little wide out screen
there and it's second and ten for the Badgers at
their thirty nine twelve thirty four left and the half
seven to three.

Speaker 21 (50:54):
Penn states that speed and athleticism on the defensive side
looking at you're kind of looking up, tretching out there,
just kind of gave a peak, and when you do that,
you look up.

Speaker 5 (51:05):
The ball falls to.

Speaker 4 (51:07):
The turf, the Anthony wide to the lefts bockerhoodah slot right,
CEJ Williams wide to the right, walk of the running
back and Locke will give it to him. Ta weee
over the left side, drives across the forty yard line
and up to the forty two on a gain of three.
Smith Wilbert, fifth year senior defensive lineman on the tackle.
Third down and seven for the Badgers.

Speaker 7 (51:28):
And we keep saying, let's not get in these third logs,
and it seems every drive we've gotten there and at
it's not a rocket science deal here. First and second
down need to get better. You can't drop a little
bubble screen and expect to be it.

Speaker 5 (51:40):
Now. It's here. Third and seven.

Speaker 4 (51:42):
Quickerhooda out to the left, three receivers to the rights,
and the Anthony one of them. The motion to the
left snapped the braid in the lot looking throws left
side Anthony the catch, he's across the forty five yard
line and Vinnie stopped short of the first down by
the linebacker. Tony rohats at the forty seven of Wisconsin.
It's now fourth and four, eleven forty nine left and
half seven to three Penn States.

Speaker 7 (52:03):
And you saw Carter at duel Carter, who my eyes
are on tonight. He's floating around and you know, you
know you want to bring him. He's gonna want to
get after the quarterback. His athletics and mountain space also
is able to get out there, leaving Wisconsin short of
that first down.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
So fourth down and two from the Wisconsin forty seven
yard line, Giant Tracy's deep at the Penn State ten.
Madicus Bertram is ready to punt. Snap is cleaned, Bertram
steps up and the kick is away Sales inside the
ten yard line. Nice bounce and it'llver hit inside the

(52:40):
ten and down to the eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
Thinking that might have kicked out of bounds, but it
did not. R J.

Speaker 4 (52:45):

Uw Athletics is proud to recognize the official plot of
Camp Randall stadium, roupub, lots and lots of pizza, Old
Dutch potato chips and Pepsi Town Wisconsin seven to three,
Pence State eleven h seven left of the first half.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
Let's check in again with Patrick.

Speaker 9 (55:11):
Wisconsin's defense has been really good the last three games,
really good. And one of the reasons Mike Trestle, the decordinator,
thinks that is because they've been able to play fast,
They've been able to play instinctively. Was what that really
means to him is that they know their assignments and
they don't have to think anymore, just going fast.

Speaker 5 (55:27):
He said.

Speaker 9 (55:27):
One of the challenges of playing this Penn State team
with all their pre snet movement and multiplicity.

Speaker 10 (55:33):
Is they get you thinking.

Speaker 9 (55:34):
He said, it was going to be an important key
this game that you can't let the multiplicity slow you down.
So so far, we've seen Penn State get into a
rhythm offensively, play fast, and have a lot of success
through the air.

Speaker 10 (55:47):
Maybe Wisconsin is just pausing for a second.

Speaker 4 (55:50):
We've got Penn State backed top inside the Nitney Lions
ten yard line. They'll begin at the eighths at the
backfield is alan wide left motions into the backfield and
they'll give it to him. So we sawf the right
side ten fifteen Allen across the twenty yard line in
k Tron Allen unto the twenty two or twenty three
yard line, and quickly they're out of trouble.

Speaker 3 (56:09):
Preston Zach beIN on the stop.

Speaker 5 (56:11):
Just a little jets sweep right there, and you're gonna
do that.

Speaker 7 (56:15):
Your perimeter needs to block and Penn State did a
good job of getting after four. Kareem letting kind of
turn up and pick up a quick thirteen or fourteen.

Speaker 4 (56:25):
To the mark at the twenty two yard line of
Penn State. After the fourteen yard run Houston ten for
the Nidney Lions. They lead at seven to three with
ten thirty five left to the first half. Allan is
the running back. Nicholas Singleton slot left, motions to the
right now into the backfield and he'll take the hand.
I'll bending it to his left, little backside pursuit and
then Jaheen Thomas is there to clean up, among others.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
No gain on the play second down coming up with
the Nidney Lions.

Speaker 5 (56:52):
Just great effort off of the backside.

Speaker 7 (56:54):
That was a slower developing play that Penn State tried
to do as Zachman that was able to kind of
chase down and Barton's in there.

Speaker 4 (57:02):
And Temple offense a little blitz up the middle. Drew
Aller flushed to his right, floats it out to Singleton.
He'll catch across the twenty five yard line, wrapped up
by Leon Lowry across the twenty five to the about
the twenty seven yard line, and it's third down for
Penn State about five yards to go.

Speaker 7 (57:21):
Aler's done a really nice job of avoiding the pressure
that Wisconsin has been able to go and extend those
plays jumping it off there. Wisconsin did a good job
of rallying to the football there, setting up a third
and five need to get off the field.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
Here rin stage one out of two on third down,
three receivers bunch to the rights, one of them will
William Clifford will motion out to the left, k Tron
Allen the running back. Aler back to throw four man
rush alert pumps throws right side Allen to catch twenty
five yard line code shy of the thirty yard line
though mark of the twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (57:54):
Good open field work that was nice here.

Speaker 4 (57:59):
Fort Garry over there for the Wisconsin Badgers and Penn
State is forced to punt.

Speaker 7 (58:05):
That's a great job of running his feet and then
letting Jake Cheney get over there at jaheep top get
over there to rally to the football and keeping him
short of the sticks.

Speaker 5 (58:13):
That was needed.

Speaker 7 (58:14):
You could feel the energy in this place, so you
needed to get off the field than we did.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
How the scrimmage the Penn State twenty nine Riley Thompson
on the punt, Hunter Wallder deep kick is ind over
ind return chance for Waller catches twenty two up the middle,
cutting left, weaving across the thirty. Waller across the thirty
five yard line and has driven down near the thirty eights.

Speaker 4 (01:00:49):
Even it's thirty six seconds left of the first half,
that stage seven Wiscncept three, the Badgers will be taking
over at their thirty seven yard line.

Speaker 7 (01:00:58):
I kind of feel like that was a really important
third down stop because Penn State drive before goes down
and gets it. Wisconsin gets it, and it's a fourth
and short. You kind of are thinking, do you want
to go? You punt it, hoping that you get off
right away.

Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
They were able to do that.

Speaker 7 (01:01:13):
Now you get good field position after Hunter does a
great job of field in that punt, picking up ten
or twelve yards, and now we're in a position here
kind of get this game back and back in control.

Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
Run the football and get something moving.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
There to the Anthony will Pauling will come out to
the left.

Speaker 5 (01:01:28):
CJ.

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Williams to the rights till we walker the running back.

Speaker 4 (01:01:31):
It's bray Lock gets them lined up on first and
ten Wisconsin thirty seven yard line. Little play, fake lock
those over the middle, and that is dropped in complained
Will Pauling across the forty yard line Zion Tracy.

Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
They're in coverage. Badgers got a little case of the
drops here in this first half.

Speaker 7 (01:01:48):
That was one that should have been caught, just a
slant by Will and you know everything's sped up.

Speaker 5 (01:01:53):
Obviously, Penn State's athleticism.

Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
Got to catch that one from Well trips to the right.

Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
Second and ten for the Badgers at their own thirty
seven yard line, Walker to the left of the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
He gets the stamp, hands off the walker and.

Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
He got hit right away, taking down him right at
the thirty seven yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:02:11):
That was Zane Durance, the junior defensive tackle. Meg it.
Third and ten for the Badgers of their own thirty seven.

Speaker 7 (01:02:18):
I just kind of came through in the middle part
of Wisconsin's offensive line.

Speaker 5 (01:02:23):
You're pulling people, you're gonna you have to make sure you.

Speaker 7 (01:02:26):
Secure that middle so that you can get started that time.
Penn State did a good job of getting penetration, will.

Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
Pauling in motion left to right, slot, left slot right,
Third and ten to the Badgers their own thirty seven
yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Pen State sending for lock.

Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
The throw shoots us to the right and a one
hopper in complete intended for CJ.

Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
Williams.

Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
So an empty possession there for the Badgers three and out,
putting from their own thirty seven yard line with seven
fifty six left till halftime.

Speaker 7 (01:02:54):
Not a bad job of picking up. Penn State's defensive line.
Ran a little stunt action the little tee and at
the top of the rout there is a little bit
of a tug. I'm not going to complain as much
on that one. Everything's sped up again.

Speaker 5 (01:03:06):
We have to try to find a rhythm and again
third and ten tough place to be.

Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
Annichus Bertram's on the punt zion Tracy deep near the
Penn State twenty snap is clean pressure light Bircher's with
a kick a line drive and it'll go over the
head of Tracy inside the five and the rockets into

It's a proud sponsor Wisconsin Athletics to remind everyone to

manars seven forty nine left in the half seven to
three Penn States Allions averaging seven point ten yards per play, though,
but the Badgers did get a stop hours the punt
in the last Nitney Lion's possession.

Speaker 7 (01:06:00):
And unfortunately we discussed this stuff before the games. Everybody
knows you want to stay third and normal, third and two,
third and three in Wisconsin has not done a great
job of that though. The ones that they have converted
it has been third and short, and they had the
one early, third and fifteen, but third and ten, third
and eleven, their pass rush what they're able to do,

(01:06:21):
it's a tough formula.

Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
Have to find a way to get out of that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
Due Aller, who is twelve of thirteen through the year,
it's his offense back there. Liam Clifford was lined up
behind him and now he'll move in most to the rights.
Nicholas Singleton is the running back. Aler gets the snap,
looking under some pressure, steps up. He'll run twenty twenty
five and Aler will stopped by Fort Kuren of the

(01:06:44):
twenty eight yard line. He's a big guy, as we mentioned,
six five, two hundred and thirty five pounds and it's
ahead of Steam. He's this could be a problem game
of eight there, second down and two.

Speaker 7 (01:06:58):
At least we got him off of his spot there,
Elijah Hills, who has just been playing really good football.
You beat his man and was able to make Aler move,
and unfortunately he was able to step up and pick
up eight yards.

Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
Rifford Slot writes, you know you've got Singleton flying a
little wildcat QB. He's gonna pull it, works off to
the left side, and Jahiem Thomas is all over it.
He takes down Singleton of the twenty nine yard line.
You had Aller to the left of Singleton, Aler clapping
his hands calling for the ball, but it was Singleton

(01:07:30):
there as the wildcat QB. And now Bo Pribulah will
come in. He plays some quarterback as well. It shirt sophomore,
third and one Penn Stay from his own twenty nine.

Speaker 7 (01:07:43):
You just love seeing when film study and preparation during
the week pays off. Thomas read that understood what Penn
State was doing, went made a play.

Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
Aller is out to the left. You have the big
lineman and Nosha Pribulah and the handoff into the line.
They will get the first down. Singleton across the to
the thirty one yard line. They had Yojana that three
hundred and forty eight pounds left guard again lining up
outside to the left and in motion first and ten
pence State of the Dney lines thirty.

Speaker 7 (01:08:11):
One almost a wham block that they had their offensive
guard coming full speed in motion. Wham is when you
let a defensive lineman come up the field interior. I
think it was Elijah Hills, and he took a good shot.
Penn State was able to pick up that first down.

Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
Six minutes left in the half seven to three. Penn States.
Aler're back in there at quarterback Singleton to his right,
double led to the right. There's an option toss right
side Singleton. Chainey gets there. Singleton slips through thirty five
to the forty and shoved out of bounds penalty marker
on the play back of the thirty yard line, and
I believe this is coming back.

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Here's the call.

Speaker 8 (01:08:46):
Holding offense number sixty ten yard pilly for the previous time.
It's still first out.

Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
That's Khalil Dinkins that tied end second Penn State penalty
here in the first half.

Speaker 7 (01:08:58):
That was I think on Whin on Hunter Wooler who
was coming up. But Jake Cheney did a really good
job of reading that getting up there. He was not
able to make the tackle. It would have been a TfL,
but we got the holding call on Hunter Wooler. Now
put him back first and twenty. Find a way make
a big play.

Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
From the Penn State twenty one yard line. Julian Fleming,
Liam Clifford out to the right, Tyler warrens lot left
motions to the right, pay Tron Allen, the running back
snapped to Aller looking shovel pass caught by Allen across
the twenty five. I think it's dragged down from behind
by big Kurt Neil just across the twenty five yard
line Penn State territory.

Speaker 7 (01:09:37):
I was seeing him, and it's nice when you kind
of see a guy get into a rhythm on defense too.

Speaker 5 (01:09:42):
We've seen that the last couple of weeks. Darryl Peterson
did that last week. Kurt Neil. That is not easy.

Speaker 7 (01:09:47):
It's first and twenty. You want to get up the
field trying to get after the quarterback. But he stayed back,
was able to read it, and I was able to
stop that little shovel pass from being a big play.

Speaker 4 (01:09:57):
Second down in fifteen Penn State twenty six yard line
and Alan, the running back to the right of Aler,
mri Evans wide left in motion to the rights, learns
up slot on that side. Aler gets the snap, Badger's
bringing four. Aler with time now running out of time,
he avoids the rush and now Leon Lowry will catch

(01:10:18):
up and bring him down at about the twenty nine
yard line, and it's third down and long.

Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
For Penn's stay just beyond. We'll just shy. At the
twenty nine third down and twelve.

Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
It's Penn State subbing quickly, Aler getting him organized frantically
waving Lamari Evans out to the right. Three receivers outside,
one on the left, snap to Aller, Badger's bringing four
left side, passed Why to the marketing completed the forty
yard line. Riccardo Holman on the coverage Harrison Wallace the
intended receiver receiver as the Badger defense will force another punt.

Speaker 7 (01:10:54):
Yeah, really good coverage by Ricardo. It almost looked like
he was ready jump.

Speaker 5 (01:10:58):
Highest does a really good job off of the left
tackle for Penn State, getting pressure, forcing that throw early
in another big stop by this Wisconsin defense.

Speaker 4 (01:11:07):
Riley Thompson, Punny Hunter Wolder is deep at the twenty
six of Wisconsin. Stamp at a wall to the right
and get a little pressure on kicks away end over
end waller the fair catch shin he'll make it inside
the thirty yard line of Wisconsins or the Badger defense.

Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
Continuing to play.

Speaker 4 (01:11:24):
Well, let's see if the offense can get something cranked
up is we will take a time out after that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
Forty four yard.

Four minutes, four seconds left at quarter number two, Penn
State seven, Wisconsin three. The Badgers are taking over their
twenty seven yard line. Place is buzzing here. Let's see
if it can really erupt, if the offense can make
something happen downstairs?

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Patrick, what's it like here tonight?

Speaker 9 (01:13:14):
Yeah, it's the fourth sellout of the season, and this
is the best crowd we've had so far. And that's
not a surprise, But this crowd is all standing, so
we don't always see that at Cam Brando, but they
are on their feet everywhere, and like you mentioned, they're
just waiting for that big play tour up. The defense
so far is held up their end, and this crowd
is really getting loud on those third and fourth downs,
but it's like they're just hanging on every moment and

(01:13:38):
ready to really help this team.

Speaker 4 (01:13:39):
If the offense can make a big play. The defense
for the back to back stops forcing punts. Here the
one touchdown a Drew Aller passed to Nicholas Singleton that
capped the ninety yard drive that was early in.

Speaker 7 (01:13:52):
This quarter, and you're starting to feel like they're they're
getting into a rhythm. It felt like that first quarter
Penn State was doing and dictating every thing. And now
obviously that holding penalty was big, but you're starting to
see whether it's Hills or pious guys getting in there.
You can't let a quarterback stay back there and be comfortable.
Getting a little bit of pressure. That's been kind of

(01:14:13):
turning this thing back over and now Wisconsin has to
figure some things out.

Speaker 5 (01:14:18):
Their rush game has been getting getting there.

Speaker 7 (01:14:21):
Walker eight carries twenty six yards, not really getting that
movement up front so far, Penn State moving around, getting
some penetration and putting Wisconsin a lot of tough third
down situation.

Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
Dry and Drew Prie the running back raiding locks six
of sixteen so far. Tonight gets the snap looking a
little roll, now stops, throws left side that's caught across
a thirty yard line, Vinning Anthony up to the thirty
five at a gain of eight. We mentioned six of
sixteen before that thrill, but probably been three or four
drops over this first down.

Speaker 5 (01:14:51):
That was just first down. Really good pass protection by
the boys up front.

Speaker 4 (01:14:55):
One second and two and whistle, I'm out stop play,
James Franklin.

Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
I think too you time out, time out. Penn State.

Speaker 4 (01:15:07):
First time out called by the Nitney Lions. Four catches
in this first half from Vinnie Anthony of the seven
completions for Braakelock. We have three forty four left in
the first half.

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
We'll keep it here. It's seven to three Penn State.

Speaker 7 (01:15:22):
That was the case there where Phil Longo in Wisconsin.
You never know when they're going to go tempo, and
you want to get up on that.

Speaker 5 (01:15:29):
Line of scrimmage to continue to put pressure, not only
to get into a rhythm, and this offense is not
really found its rhythm yet.

Speaker 7 (01:15:36):
You want to do that, but also not letting Penn
State substitute. And you want to get rid of those timeouts.
So that was one of those cases where move, move, move,
make the defense react to you got a time out
here in the second.

Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
Quarter, tah Wee Walker back in there for Wisconsin. Second
and two Wisconsin with the Badger's thirty five yard line,
Vinne Anthony wide to the left, see pulling to the
rights Histol formation now with the walker behind his quarterback
for Braydon Lock. The's a snaff to give to Walker
up the middle, up the left hash marks so you'll

(01:16:10):
get the first down up to the thirty eight yard
line needed two. Got three first and ten for the Badgers.

Speaker 7 (01:16:15):
And good job securing that middle. You ended up pulling
right guard Huber. You'm getting a tight end rolling, but
you just ran right back up that middle. Go get
north and south find it. Rentford did a good job
of finishing his man.

Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
You pick up a first down three twenty in counting
left in the half mist the formation again to the
wide to the right, Lock turns hands off, Walker off
the right side, gets across the forty yard line and
then gets driven back there on.

Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
A gain of two hard yards for Tawee.

Speaker 4 (01:16:43):
Walker suck it down at eight for the Badgers with
three to zero five left of the first half.

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
Seven to three Penn State.

Speaker 5 (01:16:49):
And that's what Penn State is hoping for.

Speaker 7 (01:16:51):
The more Walker or Dupree bounce the football, their speed
and athleticism sideline to sideline. That's how they like playing
and that's what they did right there.

Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
Dominic Dedluka on that last tackle, the ble wives to
the left block throwing over the middle that is caught
across midfield, Will Pauling into Penn State territory down of
the forty seven yard line, first in ten for the
Badgers with two thirty eight left of the half.

Speaker 7 (01:17:14):
There's a little there's a little bit of rhythm, just
the easy you get to your drop your steps. Paul
comes out, Will catches that with his hands, able to
turn up, pick up the first down.

Speaker 5 (01:17:26):
That's the kind of rhythm that you're looking to get into.

Speaker 4 (01:17:28):
Quincy burrows in there now for Wisconsin. He and Riley
Nowakowski out to the rights. See year seeds to the left.
Anthony and Pauling for the Penn State forty seven yard line.
Pauling blots in motion. Little end around here comes. Will
needs a block inside the forty five and the linebacker
Tony Rojas wraps up Pauling takes him with the turf
of the forty three yard line of Penn State on

(01:17:48):
a gain of four. As we hit the two minute
time out, we'll keep it here with two minutes left
in the first half, Penn State seven Wisconsin three. Critical
juncture here. Remember Penn States will receive in the second half.
The Badgers have all of their timeouts in two minutes

(01:18:09):
to work with. It's a second and six of the
Penn State forty three yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:18:13):
What I like there is I've been saying go north
and south thront of the football. That's with your tailpack there.
You end up getting it to Will out in space
and you have Howie Walker come out be your lead blocker,
and he did a really nice job.

Speaker 7 (01:18:27):
I think that's one of the things. Looking at what
your next steps are gonna be. Can you catch the
ball out of the backfield? Are you a willing blocker?
You obviously have seen what he's able to do carrying
the football he's done.

Speaker 5 (01:18:38):
I think a nice job on his blitz pickup, but
also on these jets sweeps, getting outside, going, picking up
a linebacker whoever's going to show up in that run,
in those running lanes and picking up a block, and
that gives you instead of a one or two yard pickup,
you end up getting a three or four yard pickup.

Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
We'll have a second and six when play resumes. Only
points for Wisconsin so far in Nathaniel Veco's fifty yard
field goal and the game's opening possession stayed with that
early second quarter touchdown connection from Drew Aller to Nicholas Singleton,
a six yard grow and a very impressive contested catch

(01:19:19):
from Singleton. Next week, the Badgers play at Iowa. Time
to be determined. Hawk Guy's a convincing win over Northwestern. Today,
Penn State returns to State College and will square off
with Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
A narrow victory for the Buckeyes today over Nebraska.

It's just a crazy year in the Big ten this year.
You don't really know what's gonna happen the USC. We
go out there, they play a great second half and
then they end up getting beat You just you don't know.
Maryland gets smoked by Minnesota. It is you still have
Ohio State obviously Indiana.

Speaker 7 (01:20:14):
But it feels like college football is kind of going
the route of the NFL Week three week is what
just wait what happened?

Speaker 4 (01:20:21):
Yep Oregon winning big at home over Illinois today. Indiana
now eight and oh and has yet to trail this season.
Ready to resume play second and six for the Badgers
and the Penn State forty three yard line seventy three
that y lines. Two minutes left first half of play,

(01:20:43):
Good and Anthony will cut out wide to the lefts
Quincy burrows to the right, go Pauling slot on the
left side. Walker is the running back, no Lakowski wing
on the left side. You know, Pauling breaks out wider
to the left ears they hand off the Walker and
A bounced to the left inside the forty thirty five
yard line and finally driven down Jalen Reid with help

(01:21:04):
at the thirty one and Noah Kowski is shaken up
for Wisconsin. Well, that was terrific work from tyle Wee
Walker because there was nothing going at the point of attack,
and he bounced it to his left and had some space.

Speaker 7 (01:21:19):
Brunner pulled from his left guard spot and kind of
they got bubbled back a little bit, but Walker kept his.

Speaker 5 (01:21:24):
Feet like he's been doing and then bounced it out.
And then what I love seeing.

Speaker 7 (01:21:29):
Jack Nelson the left tackle, he's down finishing downfield when
Walker makes that bounce and does it instead of it
being three or four yards, he's able to go pick
up a big.

Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
Chunk forty three yards here for toll Wee Walker, Patrick,
what do you have?

Speaker 9 (01:21:44):
But we talked about how Wisconsin was having trouble getting
the third and longs. Their average third down to go
is third and nine. Maybe this illusion is just don't
get to third down this time. They've been converted on
the three second downs to move the chains.

Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
There you go, there's your new keys to the game.

Speaker 5 (01:21:58):
You gotta sign that up down.

Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Anthony and Pauling wide left burrows to the rights for
the thirty one yard line of Penn State first and
ten Wisconsin one forty seven o'clock running left of the
first half, Penn State up four play fake lock back
to throw down the left scene that's caught by pulling
inside the ten inside the five phone down.

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
Here the three yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:22:17):
Will Paulling creates first in goal four Wisconsin and a
Penn State defender is down one of their outstanding defensive linemen,
denied Dennis Sutton. This trip to the red zone brought
to you by KSEIH. Visit ksih dot com slash Badgers
first in goal from the three is the Penn State

(01:22:39):
Athletic trainers out to ten to deny Dennis Sutton. And
with that, let's pause ten seconds for station identification, ten
for an ID. This is Badger football from lear field
and this offense in some rhythm now brain lock with
a connection to Vinnie Anthony. It'll be first in goal
when play can continues. But the left leg we're working

(01:23:03):
on there with Dennis Sutton.

Speaker 3 (01:23:05):
It looked like that leg, left foot and being just
trying to stretch out a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:23:14):
Like a cramp or something, a growing it was something.

Speaker 7 (01:23:17):
But that play right there, the really good protection upfront
by Wisconsin's offensive line and tight ends and tailback, and
that that's a very high that's a highly difficult throw
that Braydon lockmade and Will Pauling there right down the scene,
right on the left hash and you had to let
it rip. You had to have the right trajectory on it,

(01:23:39):
and he fitted in there beautifully, and then Will was
able to continue to pick up some yak yards after
And now we're sitting here first and goal, wanting to
time this up, not give the football back.

Speaker 5 (01:23:50):
To Penn State.

Speaker 4 (01:23:51):
That was a twenty eight yard connection there to Will Pauling.
Thirty nine left in the first half. It is seven
to three Penn State first and goal for the Badgers
when we pick.

Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
Up the action.

Speaker 5 (01:24:08):
So I think Quinn State has to use one of
their ten outs for that injury.

Speaker 3 (01:24:11):
Is that correct? Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:24:12):
So they're down to one. Yeah, so you're down to.

Speaker 7 (01:24:15):
One and that not that that is going to factor in,
but you obviously want to go get six from Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (01:24:21):
You'll take it on first Don, you'll take it on
second down.

Speaker 7 (01:24:24):
But ideally you want to make them churn through that
last time out, get down there and score get this
lead going into the hat.

Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
Raley, No, Lakowski looks like you might come back in there. Patrick,
what do you see?

Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Good news?

Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
Good news?

Speaker 10 (01:24:35):
On the injury front.

Speaker 9 (01:24:35):
He went into the Meeler Sports Medicine ten for a minute,
came running back out. They've cleared him to go back
and he's not in this snap, but he's clear to
come back.

Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
To the game.

Speaker 4 (01:24:42):
Jackson Aker is in there right now, wing on the
left side, First and goal at the three, Pauling wide left,
Burrows wide right, Talwie Walker is the running back shot,
then Staff the lock. He'll give it the Walker up
the middle. Tawee drive into the two. Abdul Carter, among others,
is there to stop him. It'll be second and goal

(01:25:03):
at the two and a time out taken and looks
like the last one there for Penn's Statens continue to
keep it here with a minute thirty four left tail
halftime seven to three of the Nitney Lion, so James
Franklin obviously trying to save as much time as he can.

(01:25:23):
It's second in goal for the Badgers at the two
with Penn State leading seven to three.

Speaker 7 (01:25:27):
Yeah, and that was Abdul Carter, who is somebody that
I know everybody here is really impressed with.

Speaker 5 (01:25:32):
I think fairly confidence.

Speaker 7 (01:25:34):
The NFL scouts are uber impressed with He's He's got
that pedigree. He did a nice job there, stay at home,
not getting pushed off that line of scrimmage, was able
to bring Walker down before they could get into the
end zone.

Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
Oppressive drive, Lock three for three forty nine yards on
this possession for the Badgers. It's Wisconsin threatening to take
the lead late in the second quarter, So Penn State
out of timeouts second and goal at the two, and

(01:26:11):
Nowakowski back in there for Wisconsin, and here we go.
Under center is Braden Lock, Acre and Walker the backfield combo.
Here's the snap, the lock play fake rolling left side,
Acre too high incomplete, he was available to pass a

(01:26:36):
little strong, a little high, and its third and goal
at the two with a minute and a half left
of the hand.

Speaker 7 (01:26:42):
Yeah, I just tried to leak out late to Noakowski
in it. It was covered pretty well normally you want
to get that. It's wide open, Acre just off the
right hand.

Speaker 5 (01:26:52):
Had to put a little more pop on it than
ache you wanted.

Speaker 4 (01:26:56):
Third and goal at the two. JP Ben Shawl in
the lineup for Wisconsin. Now left side of the formation,
pistol set Walker behind Lock now shifting to the lefts
Nolakowski shifts to the backfield snap the lock looking sets
throws left side incomplete. They wanted ben Shaw. Penalty marker down.

(01:27:21):
Benshawe wearing number ninety six. He is eligible and there's
a penalty marker on the play.

Speaker 10 (01:27:29):
Illegal substitution defense twelve.

Speaker 8 (01:27:32):
Then untilta down half of.

Speaker 38 (01:27:34):
The fIF from the door.

Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
It's still they're down, so the Badger's trying to go
into their bag. Incomplete pass, but it's third and goal
at the one. Well a minute twenty six left in
the first half. Benshaw is still in there on the

(01:27:58):
right side now next to Ryley Jackson Aker the full bag,
Walker the tailbag lock under his center. Jake Renfro Thirdingle
at the one, takes hand off, Wander off the left side,
touchdown Wisconsin, ty Wie Walker off the left edge and
the Badgers take the way.

Speaker 5 (01:28:19):
Move vet played deside by Phil Ago.

Speaker 7 (01:28:22):
You had an oversize, so that bench shawl over there
with Malmon, You're thinking if your Penn state, they're gonna
come run hard off the right side. They end up
giving it to Walker and he didn't walk in, but
he had.

Speaker 5 (01:28:33):
A nice clear path off of the left side.

Speaker 7 (01:28:36):
Jack Nelson and everybody does a nice job on that side,
and Wisconsin pulls.

Speaker 5 (01:28:40):
Into the lead right before the half.

Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
One twenty three left in the half. Nathaniel Vakos on
for the point after as Wisconsin gets his first touchdown
on the night. Here's the snap ball down, kick us
away and the lead is three for Wisconsin. Well keep
it here. One twenty three he left in the first
half in Madison, Wisconsin ten Penn State's seventh guy.

Speaker 5 (01:29:06):
Just love it.

Speaker 7 (01:29:07):
You see the old ayah see Brunner coming off the
field waving.

Speaker 5 (01:29:10):
You see all that juice.

Speaker 7 (01:29:11):
Everybody's jacked up because that was just we're lining up
and we're gonna get physical with you.

Speaker 5 (01:29:16):
Walker gets in off that left side.

Speaker 7 (01:29:19):
Brunnard does a good enough job pulling outside from his
left guard spot to seal that edge, and that gave
Walker the walk in touchdown to get this lead back
in Wisconsin's hands.

Speaker 4 (01:29:29):
Sports scoring drive ten plays, seventy three yards, took two
minutes forty one seconds. It's how we Walker with his
tenth rushing touchdown of this season. Ten seven Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:29:43):
It has been tough sledding today, but thirteen carries. He
has the nice long run. He's bouncing, you know, just
continuing everything has been difficult, but he just keeps churning
his feet. He's got thirteen carries for forty five. But
they're finishing it with a tutter.

Speaker 4 (01:29:58):
Eaving long bomb on the run up and the kick
is away single ten. We'll watch its sail into the
end zone by a yard deep and that's it with
a touchback and Penn State with no timeouts, starting at
its own twenty five yard line, one twenty three left
in the half. It's ten to seven Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:30:17):
So this is a little bit different last week. I'm
looking at what Northwestern's doing, like what you're going here.
Penn State feels really good about what they do. Now
Wisconsin find a way here. This is always that boom
or bust. You go down and try to get something.
But in that process we saw the boot, the bust
for Northwestern, the boom for Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (01:30:37):
Last three receivers left, one on the right. K Tront
Allen is the running back. Aler back to throw fires
to the right side. Catches made by Wallace, steered out
the bounds by RJ. Delancey along the far side of
the forty three yard line. Easy money on that eighteen
yard pitching.

Speaker 7 (01:30:51):
Catch just isolated a little out route there and a
lot of space that Wisconsin gave up. No pressure on
Aler is pretty easy for the first play of this
two minute drive.

Speaker 4 (01:31:03):
One to eighteen lip till halftime. The clock stops until
the next snap. As they play went out of bounced
ten seven Wisconsin Tyler Warren slopped to the rights, Fleming
White on that side. Nichols single tin motioning out of
the backfield, Kate ron Allen to the right of Alor
back to throw. Badger's sending for Aler under pressure and
down he goes. Jack Chady leads the charge back of

(01:31:28):
the forty yard line. Clock is running, Penn State has
no timeouts. One oh five left of the break, second
and thirteen any Lions at their own forty. Aler gets
some organized One minute left of the half. Two receivers left,
one on the right, Aler back to throw four. A
man rush and you'll throw it into the dirt again
a little heat as Aler just threw it at the
feet of Kate ron Allen. Fifty three seconds left of

(01:31:50):
the half. Big at third and thirteen, Penn State at
its own.

Speaker 7 (01:31:53):
Forty Sebastian cheeks, who's getting more and more playing time?

Speaker 5 (01:31:58):
You talk to coaches quick twitch. He's done a really
nice job.

Speaker 7 (01:32:01):
He was the one that kind of forced Aller up
to let Cheney get that second on that screen pass.
Another nice job with him and Darryl Peterson coming off
of Penn State's right side of their offensive line.

Speaker 3 (01:32:12):
Let's sack the first for either teams.

Speaker 4 (01:32:14):
An third and thirteen Penn State at its own forty
yard line. Three receivers left, one on the right. Fifty
three seconds left in the half, Badgers lead ten seven,
Aler gets the stamp, four ann Wisconsin rush Aler looking pumps,
throws left, sun.

Speaker 3 (01:32:29):
In complained over everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:32:32):
Yeah, Wallace nearby, had Liam Clifford nearby, and that was it.
At his fourth and thirteen Penn State that it's own
forty with forty eight seconds left in the second quarter
at third.

Speaker 7 (01:32:43):
And long goes both sides, and we just saw there
third and thirteen. Wisconsin is getting some pressure now and
they're not bringing a bunch of people. They're guy's beaten
Penn State's offensive line. And that was very nearly micked
off by Ricardo Holman.

Yep was the closest me into the ball.

Speaker 4 (01:33:01):
Thompson on the punt, Badgers get some heat kick us

It's something to watch.

Speaker 7 (01:33:39):

He's chirping. There's a lot of juice down there on

Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
No, they don't have the look that they're taking a knee.
Look at this Wisconsin offense. Do you have all of
their timeouts? A lot lefts right. Lock takes hand off
Walker up the middle across the twenty yard line, trying
to move the stack up to about the twenty three
and it'll be a second down and seven twenty eight
seconds left to the first half. Luke Fickle takes off

Billy Shmid reporting with good news.

Speaker 40 (01:37:39):
After thirty minutes, ten to seven, Badgers lead over the
third rank Nitney Lions of Penn State. It's a pair
of double digit play scoring drives that the Badgers are
utilizing to find themselves in the lead. Here, capping it
off ten plays, seventy three yards and two forty one.

Speaker 5 (01:37:57):
Time of possession.

Speaker 40 (01:37:58):
For the first Badger touchdown, Tabbie Walker found his way
in from one yard away after a substitution penalty by
the Nitney Lions. Well, look at the stats coming up,
but most importantly we've been wondering what team would control.
Time of possession can sometimes be overrated, who would control
the flow of the game, who would control the style

(01:38:20):
of play? And frankly, through thirty minutes outside of one
long drive, nine plays ninety yards for the Nitney Lions,
it's luckily been the Badger defense. Drew Aller started out
on an absolute heater ten of his first eleven throws
for over one hundred yards and a score. Since then,
Aller has just completed four of his last seven passes, and,

(01:38:44):
as Mark Tauscher mentioned before the halftime break, went into
the Penn State locker room a couple of minutes early.
He was also seen on television early around their broadcast
called Aller being stitched up, potentially for a slight cut
on his throwing hand. Whatever it's been, the Badgers have
been able to turn up the pressure on the interior

(01:39:06):
get to Aller without bringing a whole lot of heat
in terms of blitz packages for the Badgers so far
on the ground, it's been difficult, it's been ugly, but
Sawie Walker being able to capitalize a little bit on
the ground as he finishes the first half fourteen totes
for forty eight yards and that score under three and

(01:39:26):
a half a carry. However, a long of twelve broke
into the Penn State defense the longest run. One of
the biggest plays for the Badgers so far in the
first half was an Atticus Bertram's. He might call it
a planned fake punt. It felt all from that. Far
from that. When a free runner came for Penn State,

(01:39:50):
force Bertrams to double clutch, decided not to punt it
instead ran for fifteen in part of the thirteen play
scoring drive that found the Badger's up three to nothing
after just about four minutes of game time here in Madison.
Other huge play early in the game pair of nine
play drives for the Nitney Lions. That's the most ball

(01:40:12):
control that Penn State has been able to showcase through
the first thirty minutes of action. Massive fourth down stop
drew Allers, a big kid six foot six almost two
hundred and forty pounds. Nitney Lyons tried a little tush
push and it was pushed back by the Badger defense.
Massive played there preserved the three to nothing lead, even

(01:40:33):
though the Badgers were unable to capitalize on a couple
of big stops, ultimately putting in points just before the
halftime break. Gave this sellout capacity crowd at Camp Randle
a lot to cheer about, a lot of energy going
into the concourse, and you would assume bring all of
that excitement here inside Camp Randall for the final thirty

(01:40:56):
minutes of play. Look at the first half team stats
for the Badgers and Nitney Lions, each tied at ten
first downs. Third down been a little bit of a difference.
You've heard Tausch talking about it throughout the first half.
Badgers seven times in the first half faced a third
and long third and seven or more in the first half.

Speaker 5 (01:41:18):
Badgers are four of nine on third downs.

Speaker 40 (01:41:20):
Penn State started one of two, then to a four
now two of their last six.

Speaker 5 (01:41:26):
Couple of big stops for the Badgers.

Speaker 40 (01:41:28):
Being able to get the Nidney A Lions offense off
the field there in the second quarter. Total yards are
almost a horse apiece a buck ninety four for the
Nidney Lions, one seventy six for the Badgers, and on
the ground Badgers outpacing Penn State seventy one to forty
six time a possession almost even, only being separated by
about fifteen seconds fifteen oh eight comparison to fourteen fifty

(01:41:53):
two for the third rank Nitney Lions. We have more

(01:53:43):
drive late to the first half rain locked nine out
of twenty. He's been victimized, but he's bet he's stolen
some bad balls for sure. But there have also been
four drops nine of twenty one hundred and five yards
big twenty eight yard connection to Will Pauling setting up
a touchdown to we walk her from the yard away
walker fourteen's forty eight yards and in the receiving department

(01:54:03):
Vinnie Anthony with four catches good for forty one, Will
Pauling two for forty one. Drew Aller fourteen of eighteen
for Penn State one hundred and forty eight yards in
a touchdown. Penn State five carries twenty nine yards for
k Tron Allen. He leads the way. Tyler Warren four
catches for thirty one yards. It's backtrack to Drew Aller though, Tash,
you mentioned he was walking off the field at the

(01:54:25):
end of the first half. He's got a got a
brace on that left knee area. As we get ready
for the third quarter.

Speaker 7 (01:54:32):
And we just saw, you know, the TVs just went out,
but right before that, he went out, took a couple
of snaps. He put a big, old bulky brace on
and he went to throw, and it did not look
like he's gonna be back now at speculation, but I
would not.

Speaker 5 (01:54:45):
I'd be very surprised if we see him.

Speaker 7 (01:54:47):
He went to throw a couple of times, took it
and kind of whipped it off to the side like
this ain't gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (01:54:52):
So we'll see. He obviously, you.

Speaker 7 (01:54:55):
Know, really was in rhythm in that first quarter, and
then Wisconsin started after him a little bit, and I
think he did get twisted that knee on that sack,
I think by Jake Cheney and now Penn State potentially
going to have their backup quarterback for the second half.

Speaker 4 (01:55:10):
And that quarterback is bow Pribulah, who they rotate in
under normal circumstances saw him out there a touch in
the first half. For this season, he is seven to ten,
the majority of that work coming in a win against
Kent State in September where he was six of nine
for eighty three yards in a touchdown. He is considered

(01:55:31):
to be very athletic. Matter of fact, he has fifteen
rushes for one hundred and five yards in a touchdown.
He's six to two two oh six A red shirt
sophomore from York, Pennsylvania. So all eyes on Beau Pribulah
perhaps at quarterback for Penn State. Natty Lyons will receive
going north to south, left to right. As we view

(01:55:51):
it as Gavin lom is set to kick off Wisconsin
ten Penn State seven, as we get set for the
second half at Camp Randall Stadium, to wee Walker touchdown
run late than the second quarter right now, the difference
Daniel Vakos a fifty three yard field goal. The first

(01:56:12):
quarter a drew Aller to Nicholas Singleton's six yard touchdown connection.
Early in the second period, Lom with the run up
kick is away and Singleton will let it fly over
his head for the touchback, and the Nitty Lions will
begin of their twenty five yard line as the third
quarter is underway.

Speaker 7 (01:56:29):
And you always wonder, and we'll see if Aler is
coming out here or not, But you always wonder how
all of that shakes out.

Speaker 5 (01:56:37):
If they do have to go with a young quarterback.

Speaker 7 (01:56:40):
Now, the defense also has to make some adjustments, so
it'll be fascinating to see if that is what happens.

Speaker 4 (01:56:44):
It is Privulah at quarterback for Penn stakes. Here we
go in Wisconsin. Defense playing extremely well here over these
last three and a half games. Let's see how these
next two quarters unfold. Pribula the quarterback, as Singleton to
his left, Wallace and Clifford to the right, fleming to

(01:57:07):
the left rather fleming to the right. Now Clifford in
motion is the first down handoff Singleton left side, thirty
thirty five Singleton across the forty and up to the
forty three yard line. We could do a lot of damage.
He gets a ton of big runs on first down,
or has so far this season. And there was an
eighteen yard run there, and they're back on the ball
on first and ten, pulling it out Pribula off the

(01:57:29):
left edge forty five to fifty and you'll slide just
across midfield, starting to slide at the fifty and a
gain of seven. There's an example of what Pribula can
do with his feet, and that.

Speaker 5 (01:57:38):
Puts a lot more pressure on your edge.

Speaker 7 (01:57:40):
Guys, if you have that quarterback that is athletic and dynamic,
you have to be more controlled. Comuck Born did a
really nice job on that prior run, cutting ti.

Speaker 5 (01:57:51):
Us down to the ground that allowed that big chunk play.

Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
Second and three Penn State from the fifties singleton wide left,
two receivers to the right, warrant wing on the right
side and take the handoff on the jet sweep and
now trying to lob at out the Singleton incomplete at
the fifty yard line. Jake Cheney over there in coverage
and let you know that the right tackle for Penn

(01:58:15):
State is Noldan Roucci, the former Badger, the Pennsylvania native.
He is rotated in throughout the course of the season
and he is part of that offensive line right now
for Penn State.

Speaker 7 (01:58:27):
Nice job there by Cheney just going in motion with
Singleton and that was just a dump off opportunity and
Cheney was had him covered up tight and you're going.

Speaker 4 (01:58:37):
Heavy extra beef upfront. Two receivers to the right, Singleton
the running back. Third and three quick shot. It is
bobble gathered by Warren holding with the immediate hit. That's
a tough catch and Warren made it this effort from Ricardo,
but just unable to pry it loose.

Speaker 3 (01:58:57):
First down. Penn State at the badger forty.

Speaker 5 (01:58:59):
Six backman was there too. They wiscons did a great job.
Knew what was coming. Penn State went overload on their
right side of the offensive line.

Speaker 7 (01:59:07):
And was an RPO. He pulled it really nice throw.
Wisconsin had it covered up nice. That was well executed.

Speaker 4 (01:59:14):
Win and a half gone by third quarter ten to seven.
Wisconsin fleming wide left now loops in motion into the
backfield behind his quarterback Perbula on first down, the high
snap and pulling it again. Pribulah wrapped up by Hunter
Wohler as Perbula trying the right side of the line
inside the forty five to the forty three on a
gain of three second out and seven in Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:59:36):
Obviously, you only have so many minutes in a week
to prep, so you you have all these things that
they do. They have Warren doing center snaps and double
passes and all this stuff. And now Purpula comes in.
He is a different threat as far as to your
defense that time, Willard.

Speaker 5 (01:59:52):
Did a nice job of being staying out on that
edge standing Katana was able to get him down.

Speaker 4 (01:59:56):
Evans and Singleton to the left, Singleton own motions into
the backfield, Wallace out to the right. On second down,
Tribula back to throw, loops it to the left, and
it is incomplete of the twenty yard line of the
far side one.

Speaker 3 (02:00:11):
And Warren Man.

Speaker 4 (02:00:14):
That's some good coverage there for Wisconsin, provided by Austin Brown.
It's now third down and seventh. Penn stayed at the
Wisconsin forty three yard line.

Speaker 7 (02:00:28):
That's going against the big time Warren there, and you
said it. Brown did a fantastic job of just staying
right with him and allowing him to break that pass
up and setting up a third and seven.

Speaker 3 (02:00:40):
In the Wisconsin forty three.

Speaker 4 (02:00:41):
Three receivers including Warren to the right, fleming out to
the lefts Hey Tron Allen the quarterback nee heis snapping
on the shotgun shovel pass, Allen moving to his left,
Jehem Thomas Jake Shady combined to stop him short of
the stick just inside the forty. They mark at the
thirty nine of Wisconsin at his fourth down and three

(02:01:02):
for Penn State. The offense stays on the field for
the Didney Lions. Let's see if it stays that way.
Twelve fifteen left, third quarter, ten to seven Wisconsin. Hydney
Lions huddle up, they break it with fifteen on the
play clock. Fourth and three for the Wisconsin thirty nine

(02:01:24):
yard line and penalty markers flying move it up front.
Penn State leave it early well Firth.

Speaker 8 (02:01:34):
Offense in the seventy one Padie Kenneby it's still fourthout.

Speaker 3 (02:01:40):
It was Olanier, their big offensive lineman.

Speaker 4 (02:01:43):
So that changes the math and sends on the punt
team and Riley Thompson for Penn State.

Speaker 9 (02:01:49):
Patrick, what do you got a credit the crowd on
that one? This crowd has been so good. And then
third down it is ear splitting out here as the
best we've seen in years.

Speaker 4 (02:01:58):
At cam Brandon Uncer Wolders standing at the eight yard line, snap,
the Thompson steps up and the kick is away again
an over end fair catch called by Wooler. He'll cradle
it at the eleven yard line. So again the Wisconsin
defense coming through a thirty three yard punts with eleven
forty one left in the third quarter, will take a

quarter ten to seven Wisconsin because Brydon lockin company will
start at the Badger's eleven yard lock.

Speaker 7 (02:04:43):
The defense did its job, and now Wisconsin's offense, you
have a three point lead, go down at Penn State
has only given up three points in the third quarter
all season long, which I believe is the best in
all of college football. So Wisconsin's gonna have his hands
full here in this court.

Speaker 4 (02:05:00):
Yeah, fifty nine to three. That's the count Penn State
over the opponents in this period. So i'll we walker
the running back Badgers go right to left, south to
thenoy third quarter. Here's the hand off the walker trying
the left side, Kobe King not having it. The Stone's
walker right at the line of scrimmage. Make it second
and ten for the Badgers at the eleven yard line.

Speaker 7 (02:05:20):
That just shows you how quick these guys fill and
the holes that are there. You have to make sure
we're going north south and in that case.

Speaker 5 (02:05:27):
Actually the front blocked up all right, linebacker.

Speaker 7 (02:05:30):
Nobody got up to that second level and Penn State's
too good. Nice, nice job. They're coming down.

Speaker 4 (02:05:36):
Heal quick, will Paulin CJ. Williams out to the right,
Ben Anthony to the left. On second down another give
the walker trying to squeeze through the left side and
stood up in about the fifteen yard line by Jalen Reid.
The safety walker able to muscle his way from about
four to the fifteen yard line. The Badgers have a
third down and six.

Speaker 7 (02:05:56):
He just refuses to let one man bring him down,
and that was a a case he just again. I
love the fact he keeps moving his feet through contact
and finishes everything falling forward and gives his offensive line
a chance to continue to put a little rugby push.

Speaker 3 (02:06:12):
Bad as well.

Speaker 4 (02:06:12):
Badgers were four out of nine in the first half.
On third down, that's Kaklahuna and motions of movement, quick
front Badgers trying to get organized here play clock is
it eight? Plenty of time now, Kackahuna's slocked to the
left and then they snap the lock, throwing left side
and buzzes one well beyond the outstretched hands of viitting Anthony.

(02:06:32):
So with three and out four Wisconsin the Badgers punting
for their fifteen yard lock.

Speaker 5 (02:06:37):
So lock there is. Do you know the old clap
dealers trying to get guys to jump.

Speaker 7 (02:06:40):
He actually got Penn State to jump, but we didn't
snap the ball. And okay, but we've seen a bunch
of this. That's where as actually Riley Maulman the right tackle.
When you see that guy jump into the neutral zone,
get up point at him. We've seen the point and
pick up those five yards missed opportunity there.

Speaker 4 (02:06:58):
Atticus Bertram's on the punt and the kick is away,
string it away from Tracy, it hits inside the forty
he'll field it on a bounce and pay the price.
Oh he got labeled shy of the forty yard line.
That was excellent pun coverage there from Wisconsin. Real Pauling

Now in the third quarter, ten twelve left of the
third period, ten seven, Wisconsin leads Penn State.

Speaker 7 (02:09:54):
And Wisconsin's defense has been really since the end of
that first quarter. You just you started seeing more pressure,
more stuff happening there, getting Penn State uncomfortable. And now
a new challenge, a little more athletic quarterback, making sure
you have all your run fits dialed in, making sure
you're not letting him get outside and make big plays.

Speaker 4 (02:10:14):
Nolan Rucci and they're at right tackle k Tron Allen.
The running back Tyler Warrence lot right now motions into
the backfield side by side with Allen first down and
off Kateron Allen over the left side across the forty
yard line. Aaron Wits gets in their defensively for the
Badgers on a gain of four. Chuckond dolt in six
for the Didney lines.

Speaker 7 (02:10:33):
I really think Wisconsin's run defense it was a little shaky,
I thought in the beginning of the season you know,
even against maybe some of those teams that you'd think
you should route, and it is really solidified, and I
really think you're seeing more bodies in there, getting in,
getting more reps, getting more keeping guys fresh and much
really good job tonight stopping the.

Speaker 4 (02:10:53):
Right really yeah, so far Allen the running back. Two
receivers left, one on the right and.

Speaker 1 (02:10:57):
A fumble on the poll.

Speaker 3 (02:10:58):
It's worse.

Speaker 4 (02:10:58):
Darryl Peterson try to rip it away, but it looked
like Prebula was able to fall on it and it
was reading it.

Speaker 3 (02:11:05):
Wanted to keep it. The ball popped out. Penn State.
Very fortunate.

Speaker 4 (02:11:09):
Third and eight for the Nintey Lions at their own
forty yard line, just slipped out of Pibula's hands and
Darryl Peterson's just a tick late.

Speaker 5 (02:11:21):
You saw his eyes looking. He's reading.

Speaker 7 (02:11:23):
Darryl Peterson and Daryl did it really just kind of
staying square to the line of scrimmage, slipping under Warren's
block and that just that little bit ball on the
turf almost recovered.

Speaker 5 (02:11:34):
Here we go Penn State.

Speaker 4 (02:11:35):
Third and eight for the Ntey Lines forty yard line.
Wallace in motion. Three receivers to the right, Evan's to
the left and whistles stopped. Play Gamelay game. Yeah, penalty
marker down. Here's the call.

Speaker 8 (02:11:51):
Clay game, buckle cab pery.

Speaker 4 (02:11:56):
But still, you know, we mentioned that Pribula has played
this season, but this is a bigger role and An
got a little bit more to think about it.

Speaker 5 (02:12:05):
And you got this big environment. Patrick's talking. The noise
in here, it is pranked up. You're not one hundred
percent sure the play call gets in all of those things,
but make no mistake, this crowd is having a big
effect here today.

Speaker 4 (02:12:17):
Ben State three out of seven on third down, third
and thirteen. Didn't he Lions. We're on thirty five yard line,
eight thirty five left, third quarter, Badgers up three. Three
receivers left, one on the right snapped a pributable looking
pockets tied. Here comes a legro on the throw left side,
only catches forty and he has checked out of bounds
at the forty five yard line of the far side.

(02:12:37):
Our Jay Delancey now mark at the forty six. It
is fourth down and two. It was a pretty good
job for Penn State to get it close, but they
are punting.

Speaker 7 (02:12:49):
What a play by their quarterback because you had a
legro coming. You had Peterson and he spun out of
boat and he actually, I'm not even sure he knew
where he was throwing the ball, but he found his spot,
got rid of it.

Speaker 21 (02:13:00):

Speaker 9 (02:15:37):
The Big ten Network Journey did a feature on him
this week, and he is a story worth telling as
a kid who bet on himself, started at a junior
college when no Division one teams were interested, then transferred
to Oklahoma as a walk on. After two years there
and actually seeing the field and being an important player,
Oklahoma still wasn't get an offer of a scholarship.

Speaker 10 (02:15:54):
Found a home at Wisconsin on scholarship.

Speaker 9 (02:15:56):
Oh and by the way, he also has a three
year old son here living with him, named Kings, and
he has been a great influence in this Wisconsin running
backs room. It's a young running backs room, especially when
you take Chess Mulucy out of it.

Speaker 10 (02:16:07):
He brings a maturity to him.

Speaker 5 (02:16:09):
That's somebody who who.

Speaker 10 (02:16:10):
Has a son and has a home life as a father.

Speaker 9 (02:16:13):
He also takes on that roll a little bit in
this young running backs room, and his emergence the last
few weeks has been a revelation for this team.

Speaker 4 (02:16:20):
He is out there right now to the left of
Braydon Lock. Two receivers right, one on the left for
the twelve yard line of Wisconsin first and ten. His
lock gets the stamp, he'll feed Walker and nothing doing.
He gets swallowed up behind the line of scrimmage, seeing
Durant and Kobe King are there on a loss of one. Tash,
You'll like this about Tallweed. One of the first things

(02:16:43):
he'll do. Talk to him a week or so ago.
Crazy your guys gushing about the offensive line.

Speaker 5 (02:16:48):
What they're smart out. He is a smart cat, you know,
if you always got to know where your bread is buttered.

Speaker 7 (02:16:53):
But this that run game and what we've seen over
the last three or four weeks, it's been the guys
up front and has been a big part of that too.

Speaker 4 (02:17:01):
Second down and eleven, the receivers left one on the
right hand off Walker and he again gets naw behind
the line of scrimmage. Is our back to back glaze
Penn State getting penetration, this time from the defensive end. Smith,
Gilberts and Olmark of the eight yard line make a
third down and fourteen a little badgers seven minutes left,
third quarter, ten to seven Wisconsin, just a.

Speaker 7 (02:17:23):
Straight up zone play, and he did a really nice
job of swimming the left side of Wisconsin's offense, like
had a beat Brunner on a swim move and got
penetration in the backfield. And here we go third and fourteen,
and you have to be very careful here not turning
the football over if they could draw or scream.

Speaker 3 (02:17:41):
Thir o'clock is at seven to receivers left one on
the right snap, the lock stands at the goal line
looking throw us picked off Jalen rid of the twenties,
landing right fifteen to the ten to the five touchdown
Penn stak Room service interception and the Nitney Lions take
the lead of the third.

Speaker 7 (02:18:00):
I was nervous there because it's third and fourteen, and
sometimes you always have to understand flow of the game
and how you're going and that could not have been easier.
I think Brayden just misread it or just a really
bad decision. And with Penn State's offense struggling, you have
to kind of know what you're up to. You can't
get any easier than that.

Speaker 3 (02:18:22):
Thirteen to ten.

Speaker 4 (02:18:24):
Penn States on the Jalen Reed interception, his second pick
of the season and the sixth thrown by Braiden Locke.
So we talked about those third longs and this time
it haunts kickoff those number one first unsported like how

(02:18:47):
the foul of the game. All right, it's on Jalen Reed,
so it will be assessed. On the kickoff, it's a
nineteen yard interception return full of the touchdown. Ryan Barker
on to attempt the extra point. That quiets the crowd

(02:19:13):
in a hurry. The pat is in the air and
it is good. We'll keep it here. Six twenty nine
left of the third quarter. Fourteen to ten. Now Penn
State leads Wisconsin. Well, we've given you the not so
good with Braidon Locke, and that was a bad throw
and he paid the heavy price. But one of the
things about Braiden that has been impressive is that he

(02:19:35):
comes right back out there. He doesn't let one mistake
drag him down and now he's under another test right now.

Speaker 5 (02:19:42):
Yeah, one of the issues. And I think Brayden has
done a lot of really good stuff.

Speaker 7 (02:19:47):
I think he's he has and this is one of
his positives. You talk to Phil Logo and you here
talk to the offensive staff. There's mistakes and then well
how do you react and respond to that? Unfortunately y
is now gonna be in that position, But that was
another case.

Speaker 5 (02:20:03):
Sometimes you just get predetermined, you think you know where
you're gonna go with the football. Reed never moved. He's
trying to hit. I think it was Will Pauling on
a slant over the middle, and he never moved, never
saw him. And that's why I was as easy of
a pick. So now, all right, you're gonna get good
field position kicking off after the fifteen yard penalty. Let's

(02:20:23):
reset and Braden gets to wipe that away and move forward.

Speaker 4 (02:20:27):
Yeah, they're kicking off from their twenties, So maybe another
shot here for Vinnie Anthony to electrify the crowd. WO
sue kick is in the air and it will be
cave Yakamelly at the fourteen left side twenty twenty five
Yakamelli to the thirty yard line and Yakamelly advances near
the thirty five yard line, Pennsylvania native of his cade

(02:20:49):
Yakamelly so good field position for the Badger six twenty
three left in the third quarter, fourteen to ten penn State.

Speaker 7 (02:20:56):
And I wonder, I think you look at how a
game is being played in Wisconsin. Has run the ball
a bunch on first and second down here in the
second half, and couple of lost yardage plays on that
last drive, and that's set up that third at fourteen
with the pick six.

Speaker 5 (02:21:12):
You wonder if maybe you start getting litt more aggressive
throwing the football.

Speaker 4 (02:21:15):
On first and second down, roll pauling slot right, motions
to the left on first and ten, and a quick
shot the pauling left side across of thirty five, runs
it up near the forty yard line. Al mark at
the thirty nine of the near side on the game
of five.

Speaker 5 (02:21:30):
And that's what it was.

Speaker 7 (02:21:31):
Just he pulled it out Vine Anthony is a nice
job of block and the perimeter get it to will
get him out in space, go grab four or five yards,
stay in that normal down a distance.

Speaker 4 (02:21:40):
Falling slot right Williams wide right, Anthony to the lefts
Jerry and Duprie the running back, and Locke will get
it to Dupree trying to sweep off to the right side,
and he gets hit behind the line of scrimmage back
of the thirty eight yard line. Alonzo four, fifth year
senior defensive line on a transfer from Old Dominion. Thanks
and the Badgers looking at a third and six at

(02:22:02):
their own thirty eight.

Speaker 7 (02:22:03):
Hey, Penn State ran a run stunt where Ford looped
outside and I can't tell you how athletic that was
to be able to chase down that line of scrimmage
and keep dupre in front of him and pull him
down for a one yard loss.

Speaker 4 (02:22:16):
They're down in six Walker back in there, Badgers at
their thirty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:22:20):
Three receivers left, one on the rights. We play here
for Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (02:22:25):
The high snap Lock throws on the slant caught by
Anthony across the forty five and up there midfield lot
of Anny, Anthony Elliott Washington on the tackle. It a
big third down conversion. First and ten for the Badgers
are on forty nine yard line, and here we go.
Right back in the ball, left slot, right Lock looking
to throw, winds it up, tosses it deep down the
right side at it's cod CJ. Williams at the twenty

Williams lays out Badgers in the red zone.

Speaker 5 (02:22:58):
What a throw right was able to hopefully pull it,
get up there and run that play quick. He was
able to secure a nice job by Williams.

Speaker 4 (02:23:06):

That was such a beautiful throw by lock and we
said he's got that memory.

Speaker 5 (02:23:31):
Just lets it go you.

Speaker 7 (02:23:34):
A really good route by Williams of keeping at vertical
and not drifting to the sideline too soon.

Speaker 3 (02:23:39):
Pauling slapped to the left. Walker there running back, walk
looks over the Penn State defense. CJ. Williams wide to
the right. Here's a staff hand off Walker Todd Wee.

Speaker 4 (02:23:48):
Can't quite slip through because he got nabbed by Zachy
Wheatley out of the secondary gain him a couple to
the seventeen of Penn State where the Badgers are looking
at a third down and nine.

Speaker 5 (02:23:59):
Just give it up. Too much penetration up front.

Speaker 7 (02:24:02):
The Penn State's defensive line in this second half in
the run game is just beating our guys off the line,
getting in.

Speaker 5 (02:24:10):
The backfield and not letting how we get started.

Speaker 4 (02:24:14):
Pauline Kekahuna and Anthony to the left, Williams to the right.
With the Penn State seventeen yard line, third down to nine,
wiscons To lock to throw a four man runch left
side pass. Anthony is able to cradle at the fifteen
yard line. Zion Tracy with the tackle. That was a
bobble and finally a gatherer and that was a lot
of work to get two yards and on comes Nathaniel

(02:24:35):
Vacos on fourth down and seven.

Speaker 7 (02:24:38):
Well, Penn State played that really well and very fortunate
they passed off.

Speaker 5 (02:24:43):
They had a little route.

Speaker 7 (02:24:44):
Wisconsin ran a little route combo where they were trying
to get a rub and Penn State passed it. Off
he Luckily, you know Brayden got rid of it quick enough.
That had trouble written all over.

Speaker 4 (02:24:55):
Thirty two yard try for Vecos from the left hash
mark he hit from fifty the first quarter snap spot
kick us away and it is good. Is the Badgers
pulled to a thin one, so they have an answer
off of that pick six. They get some points, not seven,
but they'll take the three and we have a one
point game here in Madison, just as a touchdown. Tay

drive for the Badger's eight plays fifty one yards took
three minutes, thirty nine seconds into a Nathaniel Daco's thirty
two yard field goal two forty four left in the
third quarter. Penn State fourteen, Wisconsin thirteen. Before we move on,
let's pause ten seconds for station identification ten for an ID.
This is Badger football from lear field. They play in

(02:27:35):
that scoring drive of thirty three yard pass from Lock
to CJ. Williams, But then Penn State buckled down and
forced the field goal.

Speaker 7 (02:27:45):
That was really needed at eight plays there fifty one yards,
but the big play to Williams and It was a
really good throw, but a great route.

Speaker 5 (02:27:54):
And obviously unbelievable extension able to pull.

Speaker 7 (02:27:57):
That in and get his body down in the field
play to make that big play to get these three points.

Speaker 4 (02:28:02):
Ravin lom Olor approach kick is in the air, singleton
or return chance, and he muffed it. Picks it up
with a five yard line, gets up across the ten
fifteen yard line and fights his way just shy of
the twenty though mark at the nineteen and that's where
Penn State will begin first and ten.

Speaker 5 (02:28:26):
A lot of adventure. This third quarter has been very
adventurous though. Yeah, obviously Wisconsin with the mistake, lets Penn
State back in it because this defense, I think you
now feel, with Aller being out of the game, you
feel really good if you can get them into those
second and third logs that you might get one back.
And that would obviously be a nice little spot here

(02:28:48):
for Wisconsin to do that.

Speaker 4 (02:28:49):
Tyler Warren motions to the formation on first and ten
to the nineteen yard line for Bulda throws over the
medal and that's caught across the thirty yard line. Liam Clifford,
it's hammered down by Preston Zach Been a gain of
twelve and a first and ten for Penn State.

Speaker 7 (02:29:03):
Tight coverage that well, I think from Wisconsin, Sam, we'll
say that's all right if he's gonna try and jam
it in that tight of a window. I think Wisconsin
feels all right about that, even though they picked up
a first down, that's a tight window.

Speaker 4 (02:29:16):
Throw first and ten. Nitney lions their own thirty one
old creep you'la. The quarterback Tyler Warren slot Wright motions
into the backfield, lines up side by side with Singleton.

Speaker 3 (02:29:26):
That's prepula, We'll hand it this single.

Speaker 4 (02:29:28):
Tin hits it off the left side, across a thirty
five yard line, bangs his way up near the forty
Jardine Thomas among those in there. For the Badgers, that's
a nine yard run. Second and one for the Nidney lines.

Speaker 7 (02:29:39):
And just watching it from up here, I'm looking to
see Probula keeping the football and that Just think about that.
From a defensive end and from a edge linebacker standpoint,
you have to be squeezing that down and even if
you hesitate for that split second, all of a sudden,
now those holes are open a little bit more, and
that's allowing Penn State running game.

Speaker 5 (02:30:00):
To get going here a little bit.

Speaker 4 (02:30:01):
Warren White left motions into the backfield on second down,
hand off, single tin gets stopped by Hunter Wohler right
at the line of scrimmage and it's third and one
Penn State and the offensive coordinator Andy Koldanicki changing the
approach with the athletic quarterback go Perbula Coldan niki uw

things happen there. Nice job of pulling him down.

Speaker 4 (02:30:37):
On third and one and they give this single tin
crashing into the line for the first down.

Speaker 3 (02:30:42):
He did one.

Speaker 4 (02:30:43):
He got four forty five seconds left in the third
quarter clock running fourteen to thirteen Penn State first and
ten for the Nidney line.

Speaker 7 (02:30:50):
You always wonder that on those Reid options where that
quarterback is reading the defensive end on that mesh point, and.

Speaker 5 (02:30:56):
We saw it on the ground.

Speaker 7 (02:30:57):
We saw Forbula put the ball on the ground all already.
Once they're really riding that thing for a long time.
He's wanting to get out. You'd see he wants to
show his athleticism off keeping it.

Speaker 5 (02:31:09):
He tucked it in there. I think that ball is
gonna come down on the turf again.

Speaker 4 (02:31:12):
Two receivers left, one on the right, Singleton the running back.
Thirteen seconds left, third quarter, Penn State up one Tribulah
back to throw, drifting to his right. He'll pull it
down and run forty five fifty and is stopped by

Speaker 4 (02:35:18):
Good work, crowd into it. Now, let's see if the
Badgers can get him really cranked up. In the meantime,
Penn State with a second out of two at the
Wisconsin forty eight. We start the fourth quarter. Penn State
fourteen Wisconsin thirteen. War into the right of Pribula. He
takes a snap. He's gonna keep it room off the

(02:35:39):
right side, forty five to the forty yard line. He
gets popped hard at the thirty nine of Wisconsin bol Pribula.
We've talked about his athleticism, his ability to hurt you
with his feet, and he does it again. First down
Penn State.

Speaker 7 (02:35:52):
As Ackman came down and I'm sure he had contained
on that.

Speaker 5 (02:35:56):
He got a little nose.

Speaker 7 (02:35:57):
He's thinking he was gonna give it to the running
to give Rebula credit.

Speaker 5 (02:36:02):
He pulled it and was able to go pick up
that first down.

Speaker 4 (02:36:04):
This five rushes for seventeen yards in for the injured
Drew Aller. Couple the Singleton motions out of the backfield.
K Tron Allen is the running back to the right
of Perbula to receivers either side. One pump Perbula back
to throw five years. It's caught inside the twenty five
yard line as Wallace down of the twenty two. Harrison

(02:36:26):
Wallace with the catches Pribula threads one in there first
down Penn State and.

Speaker 5 (02:36:32):
They had Warren almost looked like a screen running down
the side and oh, very close. He jammed it in there.
That was very oh jee Thomas as their hunter was
right there and he he fit in a tight spot.
Give him credit.

Speaker 3 (02:36:47):
First and ten.

Speaker 4 (02:36:48):
Ben State at the Wisconsin twenty two didn't lie us
up one early fourth quarter. Singleton will shift to the
right of the quarterback Clifford slot right, motions to the
backfield hand off single ten and he gets nabbed behind
the line of scrimmage by Jaheem Thomas, loss of one
second at eleven Penn State at the Wisconsin twenty three.

Speaker 7 (02:37:10):
Nice job by Thomas to just reading what was going
on and reacting immediately got into the backfield and then
was able to secure the tackle here, setting up a
second and.

Speaker 4 (02:37:20):
Eleven thirteen fifteen left in the game. Penn State fourteen
Wisconsin thirteen second at eleven for the Ddney Lions of
the Wisconsin twenty three yard line. Wallace and Fleming along
with Clifford to the right, Singleton to the lefts and
a little shovel pass to the tight end. Tyler Warren

(02:37:41):
inside the twenty yard line on the barrels his way
down to the fifteen. A strong dude, two hundred and
sixty pounds. They'll mark him at the sixteen third down
and four.

Speaker 7 (02:37:53):
Penn State did a really good job at disguising everything there.
They had a bunch formation off to the right side,
and it looked like in like a quick pump over
there got Wisconsin his eyes running off to Penn State's
sideline and then flipped it back underneath the Warren. And
as we said, he is a bull trying to get
him down. He's able to pick up five or six there.

Speaker 4 (02:38:13):
Penn State four out of ten on third down, Wallace
in motion of the left, three receivers out side of
the formation of the Badger sixteen yard line. Pribula rolling left,
throwing left, caught by Wallace inside the ten and he
gets belted by Hunter Wohler at the six yard line
first and goal.

Speaker 5 (02:38:29):
Penn State that you want your quarterback roll him out
to the left. There's a sprint left and it just
got kind of looks like Ricardo got kind of walked
down into the wash, gave up a little too much
space there.

Speaker 4 (02:38:41):
Market at the seven first in goal, Pribula quarterback drow
as he gets stoned and a penalty marker down in
the end zone. First I thought might have been a
potential face mask there, but the pedaly markers in the
end zone.

Speaker 3 (02:38:55):
Let's see what we got.

Speaker 4 (02:39:00):
Left corner the legal substitution defense twelve round the field
to step out the distance to the goals.

Speaker 8 (02:39:07):
It's still first down.

Speaker 4 (02:39:12):
The first in goal Penn State at the three hurd
Neil very nearly with a face mask there.

Speaker 7 (02:39:22):
It definitely had that look in there. You saw Penn
State go tempo. Wisconsin did that earlier. Penn State got
it back in Wisconsin not using a timeout.

Speaker 4 (02:39:34):
So now they have Toddler Warren, a high school quarterback
in there at Wildcat QB. He'll take the snap and
he's gonna fake it, keep it up the middle, crashing
into the line for about a.

Speaker 3 (02:39:46):
Yard to the two.

Speaker 4 (02:39:48):
At it's second in goal, Penn State eleven twenty remaining.
Penn State up one Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:39:53):
They love moving him around.

Speaker 7 (02:39:55):
You put him out wide, you get him as an
h back, you put him at quarterback.

Speaker 5 (02:39:58):
He's been centered. They've moved him all over the place tonight.

Speaker 7 (02:40:01):
And that was Benny Barton hurt Neil being up there
again just standing strong on that wildcat run by Warren.

Speaker 4 (02:40:10):
Second in goal at the two. Tribulah again gives way.
It's singing up and it's going to be Tyler Warren again.
There's two for two passing this season for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (02:40:26):
Keep that in mind.

Speaker 4 (02:40:27):
He's going to take it up the middle, down to
the one and that's it. They had Hills there among
others for Wisconsin. Third and goal Penn State at the
one with ten and a half minutes to play.

Speaker 5 (02:40:40):
Darryl Peterson came screaming down to and just trying to
get his head in there.

Speaker 7 (02:40:45):
It looked like Ward could have. I think beula was
out there wide opening more than wasn't throwing that football.

Speaker 4 (02:40:52):
Thirteenth play of the drive, it's third and goal at
the one for Beulah. Back in there a quarterback Warren
winger the right side, Kate tron Allen behind Prebulah takes
the snap looking right, looking middle throws left edge touchdown
Penn steak, Khalil Dinkins the tight end wide open the

(02:41:15):
left side of the end zone. It's twenty to thirteen
Penn steak.

Speaker 7 (02:41:21):
Yeah, your offense can do a lot of different things
on in that position. You have to bow up in
the middle to try to stop the run. Then you
want to try and stop any keep passes. And that
was the case where they Rebula just came back, had
plenty of time to let that route develop. That's a
tough cover for Wisconsin and Penn State gets another touchdown.

Speaker 4 (02:41:41):
Ryan Barker for the extra points. Still a one possession
game even if he makes this from going to make
it an eight point lead for the Nitney Lions, and
the kick is good. Thirteen play, eighty one yard drop.
That took half a quarter, seven minutes, thirty five seconds

(02:42:04):
and for Bula was five or five through the year.

oh one to play penn State twenty one Wisconsin thirteen
bo Crip Beulah is eight of ten through the air
sixty five yards and he capped off a thirteen play
drive with a one yard touchdown flip to tight end.
Khalil Dinkins, guy from York, Pennsylvania, led his high school

was shaken up in the second quarter tonight.

Speaker 5 (02:44:43):
Pretty impressive drive and it wasn't just I mean, obviously.

Speaker 7 (02:44:47):
He was able to run it there and make a
couple of big plays with his legs as well, but
two or three really tight window throws, and then you know, unfortunately,
you gave up a little something. You got the five
yard penalty and and then you're in position on a
third and short from the goal, unable to get a
little bit of pressure on him and let that thing develop.

Speaker 5 (02:45:07):
But you didn't play a great quarter. You turned it over,
You gave up a pick six.

Speaker 7 (02:45:11):
Now we're in this position, down eight one score, critical
drive coming up here for the Wisconsin marriage.

Speaker 4 (02:45:17):
Dave will Sue will kick off. Jacamelli and Anthony are
deep as who runs up and the kick is away
and Anthony will let this hit about three yards deep
into the end zone for the touchback, and.

Speaker 3 (02:45:30):
Here we go bad. You're starting at their twenty five
yard line.

Speaker 7 (02:45:34):
And unfortunately mean I'm always up here saying let's pound
the football, let's be physical. I give Penn State's defensive
line a lot of credit. We knew coming in that
this was gonna be a big challenge. They have a
lot of guys on that side of the football, and
they're athletic and they're physical and they're tough, and we
Walker has fought too thin nail tonight. But he's got

(02:45:54):
twenty carries for forty nine yards, which is a two
point five average, and we're gonna have to throw it
around here.

Speaker 5 (02:46:00):
A little bit. Soften up this defense, try to get
some big plays.

Speaker 4 (02:46:03):
Harry and Drew Pree and running back now and on
first down, lock the drove four man rush. Braydon chakes
a down pass caught by Tucker Ashcraft to cross the
twenty five yard line. Dominic de Luca slows him down
at the twenty nine out a gain of four.

Speaker 7 (02:46:16):
Nice easy pickup and then's just pick up positive good
yards on first down. That was Tucker stayed in, helped
a little bit with a little nudge block on that
defensive end.

Speaker 5 (02:46:25):
Leaked out late.

Speaker 7 (02:46:26):
Brayden saw him, got it to him, that said, Tucker
put that ball away. Make sure you're secure picking up Fourah.

Speaker 3 (02:46:32):
We walk her in there now.

Speaker 4 (02:46:33):
Pauling slot Wright goes in motion to the left the
twenty nine of Wisconsin second down, hand off Walker trying
to hit it off the left side. There's just nothing there.
Getting gobbled up again at the point of attack. That's
Devon j. Thomas getting in there for Penn State on
the defensive line fifty years senior d tackle loss of
one to the twenty eight of Wisconsin. Now a third

(02:46:55):
and seven, and here we go again, another third of long.

Speaker 5 (02:46:58):
Yeah, just a lot of right at the point of attack.

Speaker 7 (02:47:02):
You're just not getting a lot of movement and you're
also giving up a lot of penetration.

Speaker 5 (02:47:06):
That's forcing the ball to bounce. Not a good formula.

Speaker 4 (02:47:08):
Pauline Kickahuna and Williams to the right, Anthony to the left,
Lock the throw over the middle and it goes behind.

Speaker 3 (02:47:15):
CJ.

Speaker 4 (02:47:16):
Williams had the thirty five yard line. AJ Harris on
the coverage and a three and out for Wisconsin with
eight minutes and fifty two seconds to play, Penn State
leading twenty one to thirteen.

Speaker 5 (02:47:27):
That's not what I had drawn up.

Speaker 7 (02:47:29):
No on that drive, and the defensive line for Penn
State is getting after us, I mean not giving much time.
Vanover did a really nice spin move off of our
right side of the offensive line, got right in Lock's
face immediately, and here are putting it back.

Speaker 4 (02:47:45):
Snap back to Bertram's steps up and the kick is away.
They didn't hit it particularly well. Gets a good bounce though,
inside the thirty five inside the thirty Yes actually work
out okay as it dies at about the twenty five
yard line in Penn's state tis here, it's or.

Speaker 3 (02:48:03):
You will take another time out. Tonight's game is sponsored.

Speaker 4 (02:48:06):

Speaker 3 (02:48:09):

Speaker 4 (02:48:12):

forty one seconds remaining. Penn State twenty one, Wisconsin thirteen

Eight minutes, forty one seconds remaining at Camp Randall, Ben
State twenty one, Wisconsin thirteen with Nitney Lions back on
offense at their twenty four yard line.

Speaker 5 (02:50:32):
You know the jump around, everything is going. This is
the case. Now you're down eight and you have to
regain that momentum.

Speaker 7 (02:50:40):
And Penn State has been I think pretty conservative in
this second half of football on offense. We've seen a
couple of times where the ball has been thrown up
tight window throws.

Speaker 5 (02:50:52):
Where Wisconsin maybe had a look at it. To their credit,
they fitted in there. Now I would think you have
to make sure you're getting downhill here. We need to
make a big play on this side of the.

Speaker 3 (02:51:02):
Foot four we get a turnover.

Speaker 4 (02:51:04):
You got Allen and Singleton of the backfield flanking Cribulah
who will hand off to Allen across the twenty five
like side of the thirty yard line and up near
the first down. They're gonna mark about the thirty three
a gain of nine.

Speaker 7 (02:51:17):
Penn State's gonna keep running the football, and if you're
getting eight nine yards on first down, you know that's
that's gonna obviously be ideal for them.

Speaker 5 (02:51:25):
And now they're slowing it down, you're not seeing that tempo.

Speaker 7 (02:51:29):
Wisconsin's gonna have to get super aggressive here coming after him,
trying to force that turnover that.

Speaker 3 (02:51:34):
We need about running the ball.

Speaker 4 (02:51:36):
Penn State has lost one fumble all season long second
down and one with the Nitney Lions that they're thirty
three taking slot up motions to the rights.

Speaker 3 (02:51:48):
Ends up on the wing for Beulah. They'll get it to.

Speaker 4 (02:51:52):
Allen and he gets hit behind the line of scrimmage
like Aaron wit In there for Wisconsin. A couplet of
the thirty one and Penn State now with a third
down and three seven forty three o'clock running left in
the game, twenty one to thirteen, Penn State.

Speaker 7 (02:52:09):
Well, Elijah Hills just beat a double team. Penn State
on the backside tried to plock him up and Elijah
Hills was able to defeat that and then redirect himself
to stuff that run at the line and getting the
chance here to get off the field.

Speaker 4 (02:52:23):
Penn State six out of twelve tonight on third down,
Wallace wide left, motions to the right, two receivers out
to the left, Clifford and Fleming rolling left. Prebula throwing left,
caught by Clifford across the thirty five and driven out
of bounds along the near side by Max Lofi at
the thirty six.

Speaker 3 (02:52:42):
So that's a first down with two yards to spare.

Speaker 7 (02:52:44):
I actually feel we must feel really comfortable with Pribula
rolling left. That's the second time we've seen that on
a critical play and Wisconsin has been unable to either
pass that off or get over there and cover that.
That roll out to the left, very easy pick up
there for.

Speaker 5 (02:52:59):
Penn State six.

Speaker 4 (02:53:00):
Fifty three in county left in the game twenty one
to thirteen Penn State. Houston's in for the Dney Lions
of the thirty six yard line, Tyler Warren the tied
end motions out of the backfield. One of the three
receivers to the right, Singleton to the right of the quarterback.
Pribula will feed Singleton a'll hole up the middle across
the forty and up to about the forty two yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:53:19):
Christian A.

Speaker 4 (02:53:20):
Lagro, the linebacker wraps him up a gain of six
and State very much on schedule here offensively and bleeding
the clock of the process.

Speaker 5 (02:53:30):
Yeah, letting them do what they want to do.

Speaker 7 (02:53:32):
They pulled the right guard and pulled the right tackle there, kickout, kickout,
and really nice job by Allegro. That would have been
a really big play of redirecting, getting off of his
block and able to pull him down.

Speaker 5 (02:53:43):
Otherwise that would have been another.

Speaker 4 (02:53:44):
First name, second down and four for the Dney Lions
their own forty two yard line's the formation singleton behind Perbula.
Warren motions into the backfield and Pribula turns to nobody
back to throw. Prussia floats the left side wide up
at his Clifford makes the catch in front of Preston.
Zach Bannon steps out of bounds at the thirty six
yard line. Make it the thirty five. I want to

(02:54:06):
look like a busted play was happening, and then it
turns into an easy money pitch and catch.

Speaker 5 (02:54:13):
Actually, as it was going, I'm like, this is your opportunity.

Speaker 7 (02:54:16):
Hunter Wooler came on a blitz off of the right
side of Penn State's offensive line. And tripped just for
a second, but was able to hit Pribula run Penn
State running wide open. He was able to connect on
that throw.

Speaker 3 (02:54:30):
Luke Fickel was looking for a holding call there.

Speaker 4 (02:54:32):
He's barking the replay on for the Badger thirty five
yard line five twenty five to play.

Speaker 3 (02:54:37):
Penn State driving it up by eighth hand.

Speaker 4 (02:54:39):
Off Singleton off the right side in Austin Brown hanging
on for dear life brings into the ground of the
thirty one of Wisconsin, a gain of four second down
and six.

Speaker 7 (02:54:50):
I like what Trussel is doing here. He's bringing bodies
up on the line of scrimmage. And if Penn State
wants to make that throw he just made, you have
to at this point give it because you need to
put pressure right now. You need a big play where
close Hunter almost got there. Now you're getting Austin Brown
kind of floating around. I think you have to continue
to sell out here and try to make a big play.

Speaker 4 (02:55:11):
Twenty one thirteen Penn State four to forty eight left
in the game, second out and six for the Lions
at the Wisconsin thirty one yard line. After the backfield down,
Allen motions into it and a shovel pass Warren inside
the thirty yard line has spun down again. It's Austin
Brown at the twenty six off Wisconsin. Third down and
one for Penn State with four and a half minutes remaining.

Speaker 7 (02:55:33):
Just safe plays and what Penn State is doing a
lot of a lot of eye candy with jet motions
and different things to get those linebackers or safeties to
just look a little bit over there and then do
the okie do get it back to one of their
best players in Warren on a flip and then he
has just been a bull trying to bring down all
night and.

Speaker 3 (02:55:53):
Those safe rolls.

Speaker 4 (02:55:54):
Perbula has completed ten straight and bring that big old
lineman in motion to the left. Brabula's going to trying
to race off to the left side and he has
stopped at Peterson and Wooler, but a first down as
Perbula using that speed got just enough to the Wisconsin
twenty four as precious time is ticking away, three forty

(02:56:15):
seven remaining.

Speaker 5 (02:56:16):
Great athleticism there.

Speaker 7 (02:56:17):
It looked like Darryl Peterson had a crack at him,
Hunter selling out diving RICARDA. Hollman is there, but he
was able to just have enough speed to turn the
corner and pick up a critical first down.

Speaker 3 (02:56:30):
Three and a half minutes to play. Badgers have all
of their timeouts and you're gonna have to start thinking
about using.

Speaker 4 (02:56:36):
Them here twenty one thirteen Pence, Dak, Wallace and Clifford
out to the right. You got Dinkins and Warren left side,
with Warren on the wing. Wildcat QB k Tron Allen
gets us that big room up left. Twenty fifteen ten
five end zone and touchdown Penn Steak. They go wildcat
QB with k Tron Allen as Penn Stak breaks it

(02:56:58):
open late on the fourth order. Yeah, I gotta tell
you something. They're offensive coordinators putting on a clinic.

Speaker 7 (02:57:10):
Tonight, using a ton of different motion final ways to
get more in the football doing wildcat.

Speaker 5 (02:57:18):
They have a bunch of.

Speaker 7 (02:57:20):
Different stuff and it puts a lot of strain on
your defense to be fundamentally sound. That time, Wisconsin either
didn't adjust or didn't have a player in that gap,
and then the wildcat went untouched for the touchdown.

Speaker 4 (02:57:34):
And the pat is in the air and it is
good as Penn State breaks it open. Now the lead
is fifteen that was a nine play seventy six yard
drive that took five minutes in fifteen seconds. Three ten
remaining penn State twenty eight Wisconsin thirteen back in them.

Speaker 4 (02:59:37):
Old Dominion Freightline. Old Dominion Freightline, work's hard to be
the best of the game. It is proud to support
post driving to be the best in theirs. For most
of this game, I would have leaned to the Wisconsin defense,
but you know, Penn State has now warned them down
the last two drives twenty two plays one hundred and
fifty seven yards a burn time off the clock. But
I think the guts of the game, my are mark.

(03:00:00):
The Badger defense gave this team a chains.

Speaker 7 (03:00:05):
They definitely did. And it's been a bunch of guys.
You see, everybody is just selling out the er. It's
not an effort that everybody is playing their tails off.
But the second half too many three and outs from
our offense, not enough sustainability, and Penn State has just
been able to, as you said, it worn down.

Speaker 5 (03:00:24):
This defense. Time of possession is starting to kind of
ratchet up, and unfortunately for you know, for Wisconsin, Penn
State just wore us out in the second half.

Speaker 3 (03:00:34):
They have the pick six, turned it all around.

Speaker 4 (03:00:39):
Roland Reid nineteen yard interception return Wisconsin deep in its
own territory on a third and long up ten to seven.
They turned into a room service pick and then from
there the Penn State offense has just been terrific road
reviewler and for the injured Drew Aller, Wonder Kolniki, the
offensive coordinator is dialing up everything right here in.

Speaker 3 (03:01:02):
The second half.

Speaker 4 (03:01:03):
Is this kickoff will Sale into and out of the
end zone and with three minutes and ten seconds left,
the Badgers on offense down fifteen, starting at their twenty
five yard line.

Speaker 7 (03:01:13):
And it's been I have given a lot of shine
to this offensive line. I think they've played really well
throughout most.

Speaker 5 (03:01:20):
Of this season. The second half that has not been
the case.

Speaker 7 (03:01:23):
It's been Penn State's d line has gotten after us
up front, especially in the run game, and not allowing
tell Wee Walker to have any running room at all.

Speaker 5 (03:01:33):
In this second half.

Speaker 4 (03:01:34):
There allowed ninety five yards on the ground per game.
USC hit it hard a couple of weeks ago. Is
Lock to throw pressure coming pass over the middle, caught
by Pauli across the thirty five yard line and will
scatch him fall his way to the thirty seven of
the first down, zaching Wheeley on the tackle in the
market the thirty six actually eleven yard game first and

(03:01:55):
ten back on the ball, Lock drifting to his right,
looking throwaway and it's dropped by CJ. Williams trying to
go down and get it. Jalen Kimber and the coverage
just shy h midfield. Second and ten for the Badgers
at their thirty six yard line with two forty five remaining,
twenty eight to thirteen, Penn State.

Speaker 3 (03:02:16):
Forty seven. There's a couple extra seconds on the clock.

Speaker 4 (03:02:22):
In two forty seven locked fifty to fifty tonight fifteen
to thirty one hundred and seventy one yards. Three receivers left,
one on the right, walk through the running back and
second down lock looking to pro again over the middle.
Nice catch, Will Paulick Ball's knocked out and now they'll
say incomplete. Couldn't complete the process. Aj Harris there to

(03:02:45):
disrupt third and ten for the Badgers at their thirty
six yard line.

Speaker 5 (03:02:50):
Yeah, Brandon had to get creative. They're a little side
arm action. Try to get that in there and really
really a good throw, but great coverage is able to
knock it away from Will before he was able to
secure the cap.

Speaker 4 (03:03:00):
Jaman Harris, who broke up that pass, needs some attention.
He's down on one knee. Sophomore transfer from Georgia. So
the Badger's looking at a third down to ten at
their thirty six yard line, two minutes, forty three seconds

(03:03:20):
to play, twenty eight to thirteen.

Speaker 7 (03:03:24):
Penn states this is from a from an offensive lineman standpoint.
When you're playing against a group in Penn State is
our old coach used to call salty guy just a
bunch of salty dogs, man, where they're getting after you
and you want to stay out of those third down
We said that in the beginning of the game, and
now you're in basically a two minute situation where you're

(03:03:47):
going to get their blitz packaged, their stunt game. It
makes it really, really difficult and put a lot of
pressure on this group to protect Braydon Locke here trying
to go down get a touchdown, and you know you
gotta hold on to hope here go down and get
a touchdown, hopefully get an outside kick, and you never
know what can happen.

Speaker 5 (03:04:06):
This game is crazy.

Speaker 4 (03:04:07):
And the Anthony out wide to the left, he has
six catches tonight, season high for him. And now they're
going to review to I thought it was an incomplete pass,
but they're gonna catch They're gonna look to see if
it was a catch in a fumble, review whether he
put the football away. I think on the first look

(03:04:31):
that he had completed the process of the catch was
taken down by aj Harris there.

Speaker 7 (03:04:41):
I would think that's incomplete. But he never did land
on the ground. His butt was covered up, and he.

Speaker 5 (03:04:48):
I think that's it. I don't think it's a catch.

Speaker 4 (03:04:51):
You have to put it away and make a move
relative to the game, in other words, a football move.
So that always lends a little bit of subjectivity to
it between college and the NFL. Trying to figure out
how to catch it, especially in the college game, can

(03:05:11):
at times be next to impossible. So given this a
fairly long look, and now we'll get the conclusion. Didn't
see any right in paper.

Speaker 8 (03:05:32):
After review, the ring on the field stands.

Speaker 4 (03:05:35):
It's third down, So third and ten, Badgers at their
thirty six yard line, two minutes, forty three seconds to play.
Penn State, twenty eighth Wisconsin thirteen to those six catches
for Vinnie tonight, fifty four yards A long of twenty
is to the left, three receivers to the right, walk

(03:05:57):
or the running back lockets the snap.

Speaker 3 (03:06:00):
Prin's State bringing four break, throwing left side.

Speaker 4 (03:06:02):
That's caught by Anthony his seventh catch, and he'll step
out of bounds far side at the fifty first down,
Wisconsin with two thirty eight to play.

Speaker 7 (03:06:10):
Really nice throw, good protection up front and easy pickings there.

Speaker 4 (03:06:15):
Man Locke gets him on the balls lot left s
lot right, snap to Braid looking to throw fires to
the left and it is almost intercepted, read Bobbly, no catch.
He was on the chalk first. That was Elliott Washington,
I think, getting a hand on it, and right Braydon
getting away with one second and ten for the Badgers

(03:06:36):
at the fifty with two thirty remaining.

Speaker 7 (03:06:38):
And that's where Brayden gets in trouble, is when he
kind of gets in his mind where he's going with football.
Penn State had that route covered incredibly well, and as
you just put it, Matt, very fortunate that that ball
was not intercepted.

Speaker 4 (03:06:50):
Anthony to the left, three receivers to the right and
second and ten lock to throw looking and that pass
knocked down by Tony Rojas and that was nearly inepted.
Third and ten for the Badgers from the fifty to
to twenty seven remaining.

Speaker 7 (03:07:05):
We tried to hit Kakahuna on a little in breaking
route across the middle of the field. We really could
athleticism to jump up. I thought for a minute Brayden
just didn't see him. But that was an incredible jump
leap and fortunate his hands That's why he plays defense
back to back.

Speaker 3 (03:07:23):
Good fortune there for Lock.

Speaker 4 (03:07:24):
If the Badgers still have the ball slot left, slot right,
the third and ten Wisconsin from the midfield strike, Rock
gets the stamps gave rushing fourth row right side to
toll Wie Walker across midfield and Rojas is there to
drive him with the turf at the forty eight yard line,
fourth down and eight to fifteen clock running to play.
Badgers getting on the ball. No choice here down fifteen

(03:07:48):
late at Camp randall three receivers left. Vincy burrows out
to the right. Rock gets the snap looking throwing to
the left end. It is caught my will pauling Camp
Miller where the tight coverage first intent Wisconsin as we
hit the two minute time out ball at the thirty
six yard line of Penn State.

Speaker 3 (03:08:09):
So we'll take a break two minutes.

Speaker 4 (03:08:11):
Remaining in Madison, Penn State twenty eight Wisconsin thirteen back
in a moment.

Speaker 3 (03:08:16):

Speaker 4 (03:09:23):
Two minutes remaining in Materson, Penn State, twenty eight, Wisconsin thirteen,
the Badgers are driving you in the two minute time
out Bello, the first and tent of the Didney Line's
thirty six yard line sponsor, is all three of its
timeouts available, all story short score as quickly.

Speaker 3 (03:09:40):
As you can.

Speaker 5 (03:09:42):
You always got to keep hope alive. Oh yeah, we've
seen a lot of crazy stuff at college football. It's
been a crazy season.

Speaker 7 (03:09:48):
And that was right there by Will and Will Is
a couple of balls tonight was unable to secure that
great coverage by Penn State, but Brayden threw it into
a tight spot and Will was able.

Speaker 5 (03:10:01):
To pull that in. That was not the easiest pitch
and catch.

Speaker 7 (03:10:05):
And you know, between Vinnie and Will, the twelve catches
tonight of seven for Vinnie, five for Will. We've seen
some good things tonight, unfortunately, just not consistently enough, and
especially in this second half.

Speaker 5 (03:10:19):
You haven't been able to sustain it. And you have
that one bad play.

Speaker 7 (03:10:23):
When you're playing against a really good football team, a
top five team in the country, you can overcome it.
And unless something miracos happens, that's obviously gonna be the big,
key play, key moment of tonight's game.

Speaker 4 (03:10:36):
Yeah, the Badgers on the season are now a minus
four in the turnover category. You've cut down the penalties,
but the turnover margin unfavorable for this team and the
best teams we've.

Speaker 3 (03:10:49):
Seen around here.

Speaker 4 (03:10:50):
That's just not been the case, particularly back in your years,
Mark in the nineties, Barry Alvarez.

Speaker 7 (03:10:58):
Ye, for as much as football chain and the same
principles still always are going to apply.

Speaker 4 (03:11:03):
Three receivers, right Benning Anthony out to the left for
the Penn State thirty six first to ten, lock back
the throat, quick pass over the middle, caught by Pauling,
and he paid for it. He just got slammed by Aftool.
Carter will pops back up all at the thirty three
of Penn State, second down and seven for the Badgers.
Lock quickly gets him lined up one forty five to
play clock running doctor Huna Pauling.

Speaker 3 (03:11:25):
And Anthony to the left. CJ.

Speaker 4 (03:11:27):
Williams to the right, Lock to the throw caught by
Pauling outside the numbers, left side inside the thirties, scoots
out of the bounce, forced over there by Zachy Wheatley.
At the twenty seven at Penn State. It'll be a
third down and one that'll stop the clock until the
next step. One thirty four remain stop third down and one.

(03:11:47):
Brad gets him up there. Three receivers right, one on
the left, lock hands off the locker room off the
left side, twenty five to the twenty of Todd Lee
Walker down to the sixteen yard line, first down Wisconsin
and with a minute thirty left in the game, stop
the clock to move the sticks. Now it's running three
receivers right one on the left. First down, man just

(03:12:10):
back in to the kseih red zone. Lock scoots to
his right, pros end zone over everybody incomplete well over
kekahuna half well covered about three yards deep into the
end zone. Second down and ten So the sixteen yard
line of Penn State trip to the red zone. Brought
to you by kseih visitkseih dot com slash Badgers.

Speaker 5 (03:12:30):
That had to feel nice for Walker because outside of
that run right there, it has been tough sledding in
this second half. He had nice chunk there to pick
up that first down.

Speaker 4 (03:12:41):
Three receivers right one on the left and a time
out taken by Penn States with a minute twenty two remaining,
twenty eight to thirteen the Ddney Lions. We'll hold it here.
So mentioned Minnie Anthony's night of seven catches. Will Pauling
has matched that.

Speaker 5 (03:12:59):
He's paid for a few of those.

Speaker 3 (03:13:01):
Yes, I Will is.

Speaker 7 (03:13:04):
I just love watching him work, you know, either at
practice or what he does in the games.

Speaker 5 (03:13:08):
And he's taken a beating this year. He had a
monster year last year.

Speaker 7 (03:13:13):
Obviously, everybody comes in and it's gonna target and say
we're not gonna let Will Pauling beat us.

Speaker 5 (03:13:19):
And you know, to Vinnie Anthony's credit, he's worked and has.

Speaker 7 (03:13:21):
Been become a really big play guy on this offense
as well, but missing parts of games and fighting through
he is as tough as they come.

Speaker 4 (03:13:32):
Second down and ten wisconcert at the Penn State sixteen
one two remaining twenty eight to thirteen that any lines
he receivers right, Vinnie Anthony out to the left walk
of the running back lockets a stamp quick shot cut
by Pauline right side. He needs a block, doesn't get one,
and he is driven down by Zachi Wheatley in bounds.
So force yep, it will force the time out here

(03:13:55):
for Wisconsin with a minute fifteen remaining, So it'll be
a third down and nine at the Penn State fifteen
yard line afters using their first time out here of
the second half.

Speaker 7 (03:14:11):
If you're gonna throw under you obviously will fought his
tail off. Penn State played that boundary pretty well there,
not allowing him to get out and making Wisconsin forcing
him to use that timeout. So when we go down
and score now, the on side kick is going to
have to be recovered because we're not gonna have the timeout.
We won't to have our full three timeouts to get

(03:14:33):
this done.

Speaker 21 (03:14:34):
I'm still believing Matt absolute might be delusional, but I'm
gonna keep believing.

Speaker 3 (03:14:39):
No, don't stop believing.

Speaker 5 (03:14:40):
That's what's a love monkey said.

Speaker 3 (03:14:42):
Right, do you go over there today?

Speaker 5 (03:14:45):
I missed it?

Speaker 4 (03:14:45):
Fourteenth play of the drive coming up for Wisconsin. Three
receivers left, one on the right, third down to nine
for the Badgers at the Penn State fifteen yard line.
Walk through the running back, lock back to throw four
man rush. Braden flushed to his right, looking League Williams
high pass incomplete, Jalen Kimber on the coverage, and now

(03:15:05):
it's fourth and nine from the fifteen yard line of
Penn State with them in a ten to play.

Speaker 7 (03:15:11):
A lot of pressure and forcing Bryden to roll out
to his right and take a shot.

Speaker 5 (03:15:17):
Pretty good coverage down there. And now we're sitting here
with the last stand for Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (03:15:24):
Anthony Kakahuna and Pauline to the left, Williams to the right,
fourth to ninth for the Penn State fifteen lock in
the gun, walk her to his right, snap pressure, throwing
over the middle that's caught by Williams inside the ten
and stopped at the seven.

Speaker 3 (03:15:41):
That looks like it's going to be a yard short and.

Speaker 4 (03:15:44):
Penn State in position to close this one out here
tonight in Madison.

Speaker 5 (03:15:52):
Yeah, he's a little short. You ran a slant and
Penn State give him credit.

Speaker 7 (03:15:56):
This defense has done a great job in the second
half shutting him down there, keeping it short.

Speaker 5 (03:16:01):
Now this thing is a rap.

Speaker 4 (03:16:04):
That was Zachi Weekly doing his job stopping CJ. Williams
one yard short of the first down. And now the
Nitney Lyons will take over at their seven with sixty
two seconds to play. So Penn State about to defeat
Wisconsin for the sixth consecutive meeting game like it could

(03:16:29):
be there for the taking for Wisconsin tonight, and then
everything turned on the pick six. Badgers did come back
down get a field goal. It's a one point game,
but then Penn State's offense just just took over with long,
time consuming and productive drops.

Speaker 7 (03:16:43):
The momentum swings were violent here in the second half
in Wisconsin. After the pick six, you said, you almost
forget that they went down and got points. And then
I think just Penn State with their running game and
what they were able to do wore us out in
that fourth.

Speaker 3 (03:17:02):
Old Purbulah, and it's been outstanding.

Speaker 4 (03:17:06):
Eleven to thirteen rushed for twenty eight yuards neber for
the injured Drew Aller a Petron Allen, the running back
hand off to kJ Sheney.

Speaker 3 (03:17:16):
Not about the ten yard line gain of a couple
as the clock will.

Speaker 4 (03:17:20):
Continue to run with fifty seconds remaining, I was wondering, why.

Speaker 5 (03:17:29):
Not just take a knee at one?

Speaker 7 (03:17:30):
Now Luke has got the headset off and not enough
to obviously when you use that time out still running
the football.

Speaker 4 (03:17:39):
We've got Ohio State come in a happy valley. Next Saturday,
the Badgers will make the bus ride down to Iowa City,
square off with Kirk Farnce and the Hawkeys. Now of
twenty four seconds to play, this should be the final
snap of the nights. Perbulah will hand it to Allen,
cutting to his left of the fifteen twenty US. The

(03:18:00):
twenty five and hunter roller drives him down shy the
thirty yard line with eleven seconds to play. They stopped
the clock to move the chain and Toron Allen is
hobbling a little bit kind of to your point, Mark,
you can make any sense, Yeah, you could just take
a knee, get out of there, and Allan he's gonna
go ahead and finish it. As the clock has started

(03:18:20):
winding down. It's come to an end and the Penn
State and Niitney Lyons have knocked off the Badgers here
in Matison. Wisconsin's defense hanging in for a good chunk
of this game. The fourth quarter, Penn State took command.
The tide of this one turned with about six and

(03:18:41):
a half minutes left in the third quarter on the
Jalen Allen pick six.

Speaker 5 (03:18:45):
It's gonna be one of those games, and we're all excited.

Speaker 7 (03:18:48):
It was a big game environment, big time operation, top
five team comes in and I think Wisconsin's.

Speaker 5 (03:18:55):
Gonna feel sick yep about this one day because this
game was there peded.

Speaker 7 (03:19:00):
You had their backup quarterback, and I have to tip
my cap and give Penn State a lot of credit
because that is not an easy.

Speaker 5 (03:19:06):
Thing to have your backup come in.

Speaker 7 (03:19:08):
And it wasn't just obviously the pick six was big,
but they executed on offense a lot better than I anticipated.

Speaker 5 (03:19:16):
In that fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (03:19:17):
Penn State ends up with four hundred and nineteen yards
of offense to two hundred and ninety eight for Wisconsin
and the combined passing totals for Drew Aller and Bo
Pribulah twenty five thirty one for two hundred and forty
six yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Final score Tonight,
Penn State twenty eight, Wisconsin thirteen. We're back with a
postgame show, brought to you by your local Wisconsin and
