Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scott'son off to their best start in over a decade,
but they played just their second road test of the season,
as the Badgers are in Hinkled Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana
to take on the Butler Bulldogs. Good evening to welcome
to our broadcast along with our producers Brandon Fischer and
Dave Gasper Reid Magnum filling in for John Audius. The Badgers,
eight and two through their first ten games, held off

(00:21):
Rutgers for their Big Ten opener on Sunday at the
Cole Center, winning sixty six to sixty four. The Badgers
six and zero to start at home this year, but
Owen won so far on the road, and we'll see
what they can do here tonight against a Butler team
that is also trending in the right direction. This is
a program off to their best start since the twenty
eighteen twenty nineteen season. They are nine to two overall.

(00:42):
They play in the Big East Conference, haven't played a
conference game yet, but a program that, like Wisconsin, hired
a new coach a few years ago and again also
working to improve their program. Coming up during our pregame,
we'll get a scout of Butler with assistant coach Jamie Glusing,
will look at the Badger notebook and take a spin
around the bit ten. But when we come back, we'll
visit with the head coach and the Badgers Maris and Moosi,

(01:04):
Wisconsin and Indianapolis. Tonight take on Butler. This is Badger
of basketball from lear Field.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I got from that.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Coach.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
This program is off to what's best start in over
ten years. Obviously you have not been here for all
that time. Jare you and your team taking doing things
that we haven't seen in a long time?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I think, you know, to be honest, you know, I have,
as I told you, like the last Numy sport, I
have a pre high expectations for this group. So I
want them to expect this as opposed to be like
it's a fluke, and so I want them to be
accustomed to you know that this is what was Benson gies.

(01:48):
And you can't get customer to something until you do
it and then do it again and do it again.
So for me, it's just understanding like we're not you know,
like jumping off. Uh, you know the with the trayment
want to talk about you know, starting getting into because
I don't want them to feel like, oh my god,
we're doing stuff and thing that hasn't done. It's long.
It's just like, no, No, the work we put in,

(02:10):
we should expect to be doing this, and I want
to celebrate it, but I don't want it to con
as kind of something that we put too much attention
that makes.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
It was fun listening on Sunday to John have call
the end of that game. I'm sure for you it's
extremely nerve wracking, but as a fan, amazingly exciting. And
but this is your team has done this now where
they have held off the other team and made those
shots in those moments. So you talk about expectations when
you're with them in those final minutes. Are the faces?

(02:42):
Is the demeanor? Are you seeing it shift from what
you've seen in years past.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, there's definitely a confidence, a belief, a determination kind
of that will to win and to finish it. And
you know, I want finess. That's one are the things
that I can do in those situations. As you said,
we've kind of been there where we've been up and
then allowed the other team and you know, let they
go up to come back in. So there's some things
that I have I'm going to adjust on my end

(03:09):
as a coach to help them, you know, continue to
be successful. And really, one of my friends' dads called
us the cardiac kids because he's like, I gotta take
my heart, but you don't remember watching you guys play.
But if nothing else, Wisconsin is going to keep you engaged.
But I think, you know, I want to make sure
that it's great that we have these experiences in the

(03:32):
sense that we are able to figure it out and
find continue final ways to win. But I also think
that there's no shame in beating people by fifteen either.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Absolutely. We're talking with the head coach the Badgers, Mrissa Mosley,
a couple more for you, coach, that this is an
interesting time of the season, final exams, you have a
big ten win on Sunday, now a couple of non
conference games. This is your second true road test this year,
then you play another non conference next year. Are you
having to talk to your players about focus? Is that
more of seniors? Is it a mixture? How are you

(04:02):
handling that with this group?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I think it's honestly with treating it like we have
every other deep season, in the sense of like we're
focusing on the preparation. You know, I talked to them
a little bit after practice. Just like I understand that
we're in finals week. I understand that there's stress, but
for those forty minutes, we need to really lean into.
This is the thing that we love to do. This
is a great opportunity for us to uh, you know,

(04:27):
add one more probably each to their column. But also
you know the Butler team who year in and year out,
you know, are our great contenders of basketball. Also to
really prove ourselves at you know, in challenging environments when
you're on the oh that we can this is all
and so I'm excited to watch it because I think

(04:49):
that the circumstances write all different factors, like you just
mentioned aligning. It will be a really good test to
see what's our mental fortitude, what's our approach, and it's
our maturity in these situculations.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Well, final one for your coach ten games in, it's
it's fun to check on where you're at with your
team benchwise and your rotations. Butler, it's a lot of
it to play a lot of players a fair amount
of minutes, but you have your deepest team you've had
in your time here at Wisconsin. Are you feeling like
you have a pretty good sense of what you're rotation
shaping up to be for the rest of the season.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
I guess I know that we've been you know, we
tink here and there. I think there's still some other
opportunities for to have contributions from other players, which I
think always helps you, especially in a longs event. I
think that you know, there's got to be a comfort
level obviously with the players who flying on quite a bit,

(05:41):
but I think it can plase with kind of getting
into a more comfortable position and gain the lead dependent.
I think that that's something that will continue to kind
of tinker with. But so far, I think we've gotten
great contribution from both the starters of the bench, and
I think that the players who are on our bench

(06:04):
underspan to be a star and in a role and
when they get opportunity, when their numbers call that, they're
ready to take the intage of that.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
That's the head coach, the Badger's Marissa Mosley. We'll get
the scout of Butler up next with assistant coach Jammi
glosing Wisconsin in Indianapolis this evening. This is Badge of
Basketball from lear Field her pregame show continues Wisconsin at
Butler time now to get the scout of the Bulldogs
with assistant coach Jammy glosing coach Caroline Strandi, a player
who comes from Wisconsin, a big career down in Racine

(06:33):
in originally Minnesota. She transfers to Butler and has been
successful there. Is you've watched her on film, what about
her game stands out to you?

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yeah, she's a versatile player.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
You know, she's shooting all from the three and she's
got some range, so you have to expect that. But
then she's really good in the mid range. She can
elevate well, So she's just a pretty good, well rounded player.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
They got a lot of bench points. They play a
lot of players. As you've watched them on film, I'm
sure quite a few games. How many Bulldogs do you
expect them to rotate through tonight?

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Yeah, it's funny you say that, because when we're watching film,
we try to keep it, you know, as short and
concise as possible so that we keep our players' attention.
But I'm like, hey, they play a lot of people,
so we expect them to play over them and our
players know how we're guarding each one of them, because,
like you said, they do go deep in their bench
with heavy minutes.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Interesting though, from what I've watched them, not nearly to
the level that you guys scout, but they'll play starters
for a while and then they'll kind of like a
hockey line change, they'll bring that in. So is is
there did they go to their bench? Is it a
little different style than other teams?

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Yeah, I think you're right when you say that. I
mean they they'll stick with, you know, their starters. They've
been consistent with who they have starting the game, but then,
like you said, they'll have complete change ups in the lineup.
But I think it's still okay for us. We can
stay consistent with what we want to do with our
game plan. But it's it's going to be important that

(08:01):
our players are realizing putting now when those changes happen.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Again, we're talking with assistant coach team inclusion. Final one
for you, coach. Defensively, seems like they'll break out in
a press on occasion, but then go long stretches where
they won't do they press as much overall they trying
to do defensively.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Yeah, so what they'll do majority of the time is
have their point guard pick up the other point guard
and really just try to slow you down a little bit,
not necessarily turn you over, but are their point guards
number one and three do a good job of trying
to make you change direction as you're coming up the floor,
So they'll do that most often. But then they'll also
throw I once you to coverage at you, just trying
to slow you down. So we'll set for pressure and

(08:42):
just be ready for it. We talked about that and
are ready to execute.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
That's a scout of Butler. We'll look at the badge
or notebook up next. This is Wisconsin basketball from lear
Field getting ready for Wisconsin eight and two taking on
the Butler Bulls up nine and two, one of the
Big East Conference. Let's get your starters here before we
get to the tip off with Skytjohnson and Butler looking
first at the home standing Bulldogs here their head coach,
Austin Parkinson, hired in April twenty two, all time winning

(09:08):
as coach at IUPUY twelve seasons, earned iupui's first look
like this logo with a five six sophomore guard out
of Bedford, Indiana, number one Carson Norman six two sophomore
guard from Fisher's, Indiana. Number two Riley mcleski and a
six foot senior guard from Columbus, Ohio. Number eleven Kyler
McGuff five eleven grad student guard. She's from Racine, Wisconsin.

(09:29):
Twenty one at Caroline Strandy and then a six to
four sophomore forward from Indianapolis, Indiana. Twenty four Kristin Carter
for the Badgers fourth season. Four head coach Marissa Mosley.
Her starters per usual, a six to one sophomore center
out of Oberlin, Ohio. Number one, Carter McCrae five nine
graduate student guard from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Number three Test Myers

(09:50):
five ford junior guard from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Thirteen Ronnie
Porter five bag graduate student guard from Monroe, Wisconsin. Twenty
four Natalie Leitsinger and a six to four junior forward
from brooks Land, New York, averaging almost eighteen a game.
That is number twenty five Sarah Williams ssconsin road team.
So the road red uniform shorts with that dark blue
for Butler in script writing across the front. Referee moves

(10:13):
into the center circle. Williams, we'll take the jump against
Carter and the toss and tap. This is controlled by
Butler and we are underway at Hinklefield House in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Norman to run the point guard position. Norman been a
player who struggled scoring early on in the year sixteen
points in the last two games. She had only ten

(10:33):
points total through the first nine. She'll give it off
on the left side to mcleski left of the circle. Three,
missed it, but he'll rebound inside by McGuff and a
fresh twenty on the shot clock for Butler. Well a
down left base line and that left block is mcileski
pushes it back outside their strandy. Strandy their best player
at over fifteen a game that Minnesota transfer. Now a

(10:54):
three pointer left corner by mccallits and a three on
the board for Butler on their first offensive possession, and
the Badgers come down for their first chance. Here's tes
Meyers left wing. A three goes high, arcing shot, missed
it short rebound Carter McCrae. Wisconsin gets a fresh twenty
on the shot clock. So each team with an offensive
rebound in their first possession. Sarah Williams now working that
right block. They'll double team her right away skip pass

(11:16):
left wing three pointer Porter rims out missed it. Sarah
Williams though, second offensive rebound for the Badgers, the easy
put back in the lane and Wisconsin trailing three to two.
Just under way here in Indianapolis. Inside the circle, there's Carter,
has got Porter in front of her at the free
throw line, hands it off, moving in right side of

(11:37):
the lane. Now at the free throw line there's Norman
who nice pass down low, wide open. Was Carter Wisconsin
struggling to rotate defensively, and that's going to be a
five to two lead for Butler or ninety seconds in
Porter and not high on the right side, moves it
off to the right free throw line, extending and to

(11:57):
pick up that dribble, goes down right of the lane
to william looking to pass it back outside. She'll get
bumped hard. Now she'll go up straight. Missed it, but
a foul and we'll have two free throws here for
Sarah Williams. Williams sixty nine point seven percent free throw shooter,
does a lot of her work inside. She'll shoot a
three on occasion, but just one of eight so far

(12:18):
this season. First free throw is of the game for
either side. First free throw is up for Williams and
that one is good. Eight seventeen left in the first
just underway. Second free throw for Williams up and that
is good. Hit them both in. Wisconsin down five to four.

(12:41):
Butler comes back down on offense. I'll pass it around
a lot around the wing and then work their way
down to the lane. Here's Carter top of the circle.
Now she'll have all the room in the world at
the three point line. Not a threat to shoot. McGuff
moves inside the circle, pops it back outside their strandy,
and we'll do a behind the bat dribble, comes back
and shovels it to McGuff. Eight in the shot clock. Here,

(13:03):
move inside for mcleski. Reach in fouled by Carter. Mccretion
bounces on the balls of her feet and says, boy,
I thought that was pretty clean defensively, call a reach
in foul. This will be on the floor and that'll
be Wisconsin's first personal foul of the game, and they
will inbound it left of their basket. Norman flips it
back outside to mcleski. She'll set up things offensively between

(13:25):
the circles. Comes back between the wings to McGuff bounce
pass to Carter inside the circle and he got Kristen
Carter for Butler and Carter McCrae for Wisconsin goes back
outside and that's a bad pass. Comes all the way
into the back court. That's gonna be picked up by
Lightsinger for Wisconsin. She'll drive into paint jump stops up
once left side. Oh halfway down somehow didn't go Horner

(13:47):
grabs the Badger rebound out to Myers. Now inside Williams
a little fade away jay from seven feet away in
the lane. That was pretty back to back buckets there
for Sarah Williams and Wisconsin as their first lead five
the Badgers three minutes in back high on the left
side for mcauleski works at back top of the key.
There's Carter. She'll shuffle her feet over to the right

(14:09):
side and gives it off to Norman. She's gonna pop
a three pointer right side. That one too strong and
rebound by Sarah Williams. Sconson doing well rebounding here and
they will come back down the floor offensively. Ronnie Porter
on that white bulldog logo crosses the timeline. She'll go
up to Williams gets the screen. Now a floater in
the lane off the glass and good and there is

(14:31):
Ronnie Porter with her first bucket of the game. Seven
to five. Wisconsin leads six forty to go in our
opening frame, back between the circles. Mcilesky. They'll swing it
around on the right side to Carson Norman. He's got
Porter in front of her, pop it back to Carter,
back to Norman. Norman flips it off to the right corner.
Mcileski thirteen to shoot here for Butler's working it around

(14:53):
the wing. Mcileski now goes down got double team and
a good pass down low for Carter on that right
block and she goes around the badger's car McCray and
evens at seven six fifteen left in the first Scotts
it's help defense right now, struggling a little bit as
they're leaving some players in the block wide open, not
getting back in time. Porter and Williams doing some work
on the left side. Turn around shot there for Williams

(15:14):
her first miss of the game, and the rebound goes
to Butler. We'll stay at seven apiece and we are
four minutes in. Driving hard inside. There is Strandy misses
that gets her own rebound, goes up and jump ball
called I believe possession. Arrow goes to Wisconsin. So we
talked about before with Caroline Strandy received native graduate student,

(15:36):
third season at Butler. Really the scouting report on her
changes direction really well, good passer, and she is three
to three shy of one hundred in her college career.
Averaged in her senior year in Racine she averaged over
thirty five points per game. Had a tremendous prep career.

(15:57):
Five point fifty left in the first seven to seven
was sconsin with the ball. De Ennisamena is coming in
for the first time. Also Halle Douglas for the Badgers.
Porter will stay on the floor with Williams. Lily cronell
so checking in here. Porter at the top of the key,
a little shuffle step left of the lane, bounce pass
down low, there's Douglas struggles with the ball, then finds
it in her defender kind of fell down and Douglas

(16:17):
all alone on the right side, puts it up strong
off the glass and Wisconsin back with the nine to
seven lead. Five point twenty five left in the first
top of the wheel for Strandy pass it off to
Sidney James, who just came in at the last dead ball.
Give to Strandy. She'll get a James screene drives left
baseline nothing there, skip past dangerous but got it to
Norman twelve to shoot for Butler. Down by two Wisconsin.

(16:40):
Good Man a band defense here now inside the lane
ball pinballs around, there's Jans loses it. Douglas with the
Badger grab turn over there on Butler, and Wisconsin comes
down the floor trying to extend the nine to seven lead.
Five minutes left in the first right side for the Badgers,
and Douglas back to porter right of the circle, gets

(17:00):
a screen from Williams. Now she'll move into the paint
picks upper dribble, goes back out to Jimenez nine to
shoot for Wisconsinjmenez slices her way through two bulldogs. Ooh,
lost it. Then as she got a hand poked away,
then she'll follow back up. Sneaks that one away from
Strandy and the Badgers come back with the offensive board,
goes up off the left side. Awkward shot, got it
to go and eleven to seven Wisconsin four to twenty

(17:21):
five left in the first. That's some development there from
deannas Jmenez, sophomore this year. Last year as a freshman,
might have hung her head a little bit with the
disappointment off the turnover. Instead, she chases down the player,
steals it away, gives it to Porter, and Wisconsin has
a four point lead. With four to ten remaining in
the first quarter. Mcleski, now outside, there's Norman three point

(17:42):
or halfway down and out rebound though Oh goes to
Butler and then they throw it away on the left side.
As thought Strandy would go right, she went left, and
that's a turnover, and we'll have our first media timeout
of the game. Four to oh, one left in the
first Wisconsin up eleven to seven. This is badge of
basketball from lear Field.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
This seventy the game.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Today's game brought to you in part by Alliant Energy.
Visit Alliant energy dot com to see how Alliant Energy
invests in diverse energy solutions for today and the future.
Eleven to seven, Wisconsin leading four one left in the
first scoring right now, Williams with five leading the way
for the Badgers. Also Ronnie Porter with four. Your two
leading scorers for Wisconsin. Make that Williams actually with seven

(18:28):
and up Order with four. So there's your eleven points
in Wisconsin leading Butler. Here is we continue action from Butler,
Pence Butler, Indianapolis, Indiana. The Badgers coming back down on offense.
Dannis Amenez will have the ball and she comes up
the floor and kind of steps on the near sideline.
She got bumped by Wiggins who just checked in for Butler.

(18:50):
And there is a turnover coming right out of the
media timeout to turnovers here for Dannis Amenez in the
early going Ari Wiggins and we're talking about she's out
of Indians. She's a five to eight senior athletic player.
Mcleski off to Wiggins on the right side. Eleven to
seven Wisconsin, three point forty to go in our first quarter. Mcleski,

(19:12):
Now she'll go down inside. There's James turn around on Douglas.
Hard missed it. Good rebound there off the defense for Douglas.
She comes out with some good work offensively and defensively.
Off the bench. She's been a player at Wisconsin. Really
missed last year, went down with the ACL injury, and
that was such a struggle for Wisconsin. That leadership coming
off the bench. Now as a graduate student comes off
and very comfortable off that bench spot. Here's only Krawn

(19:35):
now for Wisconsin, she'll put up a two on the
left side. Got bumped as she shot a missed it,
but she'll go to the free throw line for a pair.
Lily Cron another one of those players who she had
a good Thanksgiving tournament down in can Kun, averaging just
three points per game, a little under ten minutes per contest,
but can hit some big threes and trying to take
advantage of her opportunities. First free throw there she misses,

(19:59):
hit off the back of the iron. No good. Second
free throw here for Lily Crown. Wisconsin up eleven to seven,
three twelve left in the first missed them both first
free throws of the year, believe it or not for
Krawn and zero for two to start off with the campaign.
Eleven to seven, Wisconsin, still with the four point lead,
three minutes to go in the first. Now off to

(20:21):
the right side. Carmody coming in for the first time
for Butler, skips it back outside Mcleski three pointer left
side misses that made it in the first try, misses
the second one that same spot. I'll go back to
her now she'll drive gets bumped a little bit. Referees
to let them play on outside. Carmody, She'll fake of
three now moving inside and a whistle and a reach
in foul called on Wisconsin. Lily Carmody, she's a freshman

(20:46):
out of Melbourne, Australia, averages almost eighteen minutes per game,
and this will be an inbounce plays. She drove in
and had a bunch of badgers around. That was Jimenez
who got called for the reach in. One of the
things you heard during this out when we talked with
assistant coach Jamie Glusing, they play a lot of players
averaging almost twenty seven bench points per game and got

(21:07):
nine players with at least fifteen points per minutes played
per game. I should say for Butler, so they have
a deep bench and they are not afraid to go
to those players inside. Now for Jeans, turn around on
Williams up strong and that one goes through first bucket
in a while for Butler. Eleven to nine now the
Wisconsin lead to seventeen left in the first Natalie Leitsinger

(21:30):
working the point guard position here for Wisconsin. Tess Meyers
came back in for Jimenez after the two turnovers and
the reach and foul port are now high on the
right side. Here's Sarah Williams right side of the baseline,
kicks it back out to Lightsinger. She'll drive in the paint,
tries it up and under move. Nothing there. Then she'll
flip it off the glass awkwardly, not sure why she

(21:50):
felt like she had to force it, and the miss
comes back down to Butler. Two point lead for the Badgers.
Down on defense. Now a left side, there's Jans for
the three pointer, and that is a swish for Sidney
Janes six ' three forward from three point Lanbaster four
to three of the year out of ten tries. Doesn't
shoot a lot, but pretty good when she does, and

(22:11):
it's twelve to eleven Butler one twenty eight left in
the first Jane's a player who can play down low
and shoot the three. Here's Williams now trying to back
Jane's down the right, block up and under move, and
that's just too much for Jans to handle. Sarah Williams strong.
There good first quarter here for Williams thirteen to twelve.
The Badger's retake the lead. One tend to go in

(22:32):
the first quarter. Carmody now on the left side, passes
it back out top of the wheel for James telling
players to cut. Nobody does in front of her, so
we'll go back to McGuff now left corner, moving in
for Carmody. She'll pop it back out left corner. There's
mcleski three pointer and she has got two in this
first quarter. Fifteen to thirteen Butler forty seven seconds left

(22:55):
in the first, these teams trading blows here in the
opening frame, Porter back down the floor for Wisconsin. Touch
by Myers, right back to Ronnie Porter working that right side.
She'll drive in the right baseline, tosses it back out
Lightsinger left corner. Plenty of time in the shot clock
here for Wisconsin. Tend to shoot. Lightsinger struggles with it
in the paint, gets it back outside to Carter McCrae

(23:17):
five to shoot. Here's Porter left side. Three seconds Porter
gonna drive got stripped? Does she made her move? Carmody
picks that up and Butler can play for the last
shot of the quarter if they'd like. Carmody drives instead,
goes back out to Wiggins, and now they will reset
their offense. Two point Butler lead nine seconds left in
the first Wiggins starts the offense six seconds Wiggins back

(23:37):
out to Jeans, fakes a three. Three seconds, she'll stake
a long two and that one airballs pops out of
bounds on a good final possession for Butler, and we
go into our first quarter break Butler leading Wisconsin fifteen
to thirteen after one. This is Badger basketball from lear
Field and the first quarter. Butler with the lead, Wisconsin
coming out and shooting well in the last five minutes

(23:59):
of the courts, but trailing fifteen to thirteen as we
get ready for the start of quarter number two. Scoring
here for the Badgers, You've got seven points for Sarah Williams,
three or four from the field, one of two at
the free throw line, couple of rebounds in her nine minutes,
four points for Ronnie Porter two for two from the
field and assist and a turnover in nine minutes, and
two points for Halle Douglas on one shot and Douglas

(24:21):
doing that in three minutes. Other side, six points for
mcileski went two for four shooting threes, and Jane's with
five points two of four from the field. Teams come
back out of the first quarter timeout in Wisconsin, just
their second road game of the season, taking on Butler
in Indianapolis, Wisconsin losing to North Dakota State earlier this year.

(24:44):
A really really good team, so really no shame in
that they're going to be a tough team for a
lot of people to handle. Check that South Dakota State,
excuse me. And Butler will come out on offense to
start the second quarter, fifteen to thirteen day lead. They'll
drive right away, then go back outside three pointer and
that one is another three hits in that time by Carmody,

(25:06):
and it's eighteen to thirteen Butler. Eighteen seconds into the
second Butler a team that when they heat up from downtown,
you've got to look out Wisconsin usually relying on test
Myers to do their work. They'll go down low. There's
a Sarah Williams pass into Carda McCrae missed it but
got fouled. That was the cause of the miss and
we'll have two free throws for Cardo McCrae. Thirty seconds

(25:28):
into the second quarter, eighteen to thirteen Butler Carter McCray
at the free throw line for two. First free throw
for McCray a little too strong, missed it. Sixty six
percent free throw shooter. McCray and with the way she

(25:52):
bangs down low, she's got to be a player that
can make those free throw second one was perfect high
arching shot. Eighteen to fourteen. Butler. Wisconsin comes back into
the second quarter. There's Wiggins, gets screened, drives in hard,
goes back outside three point right side by Strandy missed
it wide right rebound No James in a fresh twenty
on the shot clock for Butler. Back out to Strandy.
Now Wiggans going to go in towards the circle, back

(26:14):
outside left corner. They pass it around quickly. This Butler team.
Barry Crisp Carmody tries to do a spin move and
then jump ball or was that a foul on porter?
They will say jump ball and possession. Arrow will go
to Wisconsin. Boy, she came in hard on porter and
she just grabbed that ball. Forces the jump. Carmody went

(26:34):
flying as she'd kind of lost her balance, and Wisconsin
forces another Butler turnover eighteen to fourteen. The Badger deficit
one six into the second here's a light singer for Wisconsin.
Top of the circle, moves it back outside the left
wing tes Meyers left free throw line extended. Now Carter
McCrae still working that left side of the paint. Seven
to shoot here for the Badgers Williams left of the circle.

(26:58):
She'll put up a shot left side, hit the front
of the rim. No. Lightsinger grabs the rebound from her
knees and gets oh, bopped hard in the face. That's
going to be a foul on the floor. Strandy came
in hard. Lightsinger took another one to the schnaz or
the teeth. It's like the teeth checks them and they're
all there, and Wisconsin will get a chance to inbound. Here.

(27:18):
Lightsinger had fallen down and then the ball came by here,
so she reached for it. Strandy came in inadvertently bopped
her hard. Here's tes Myers now three pointer, left side,
a little wide right and the rebound comes down to
Strandy for test. Meyers coming in three point shooting thirty
seven percent coming into this game, has already attempted sixty

(27:38):
seven threes, and she's put a couple up in this
game by far the leader for Wisconsin shooting wise. From
three point land inside, there's Carmody drop passed down to
Jans and the left block tries to go around Williams.
Good defense by the Badgers twenty five, and we'll have
an off ball foul on Carmody of Butler, and this
we'll come again back to Wisconsin. So foul's starting to

(28:02):
add up here a little bit for Butler. Just there.
Second of the quarter, we'll have another sub as Carmony's
gonna have to go take a seat, and Wisconsin will
bring it up the floor. Two minutes in to the second,
Wisconsin down by four, eighteen to fourteen. Here's Porter for
the Badgers, Sarah Williams right of the circle. Lightsinger behind her,

(28:26):
couldn't find her. Instead, they'll go back out to Ronnie Porter.
Porter the left corner behind the back dribble. Now she'll
move inside, goes up at the bottom of the backboard,
though rebound comes down to Butler and they'll come back offensively.
Good move by Porter, just lost the real estate underneath
the rim. Didn't realize where she was at the bottom
of the backboard. Butler back the other way, hoist to

(28:47):
three straight on that one bricks off the side of
the backboard. It's Joscelyn Land for her first shot of
the game. But the rebound comes down to Carter of Butler,
and they'll have twenty more on the shot lock seven
to two offensive rebounds in five favor Butler. Right now,
Carmody moves her. Excuse me that Strandy moves in bumped, fouled,
and she'll get a chance to go to the free

(29:07):
throw line for a pair. There's that Caroline Strandy skill
that was a big part of the scouting report for Wisconsin.
And she beats you on that first step. She'll draw
that foul and then still goes up strong and hits
the shot. She'll have a chance at the three point play.
Hallie Douglas will check back in for the Badgers. Strandy

(29:28):
the free throw line and she makes that, so does
complete the three point play. Twenty one to fourteen, largest
lead for Butler, seven seventeen left in the second and
the Badgers will go as they inbound it. They struggle
with that and coach Moseley is going to call a timeout.
She is not happy with Natalie Leitzinger right now, and

(29:49):
I believe they're going to call this Ammedia timeout and
they will, so we'll step aside. Yeah, Wisconsin out of
sync right now, and coach Mosey wanted to call a
time out. Twenty one to fourteen Butler with the lead.
This is badger basketball from your feel.

(31:23):
dot Jobs. Second road game for the Badgers it is
Butler in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Badgers right now dealing
with a Butler team that's nine to two coming in
and you can tell their confidence. They've got a lot
of playmakers and players who know their role and they
can go deep into the bench. Sconsin having to take

(31:43):
a time out on that last possession as they were
struggling to get it in and Coach Mosley was none
too pleased with her Badger group as they came over
to the bench. Twenty one to fourteen, Wisconsin down by
seven seven h seven to go in the first half.
Ssconsin with the ball offensively Douglass top of the circle.

(32:03):
Myers tries to go inside to Williams and out of
the time out of turnover, Myers pass got picked away
and Beck comes Butler. Sconson down by seven. Butler with
the basketball under seven to go in the first half,
Carter does a spin move on Williams miss that one
and the rebound comes down to Williams. I'll tell you,
if you didn't have Sarah Williams right now defensively Wisconsin
the depths, it'd be more than seven. She is altering

(32:25):
these shots down low and really dominating the painted area
inside for Porter. Misses that down low on the left
block and a one shot and go back on defense.
After the miss, Land tries to three right of the circle.
She connects on that after missing her first three before
the timeout, and it is a ten point lead for Butler.
Six point twenty left in the first porter between the circles,

(32:48):
Wisconsin down ten. They need an answer here. Lightsinger back
to Porter inside the circle, goes download to Sarah Williams,
fakes it up, got double team, goes back out to
Porter ten to shoot Porter gonn dr scoops it up again,
hit the bottom of the backboard, second time in a row.
She's done that and up comes Caroline Strandy. She'll go up.
Misses that one down low, No foul calls. She wanted
something and the Badgers come back the other way offensively.

(33:13):
Ronnie Porter now between the circles, Wisconsin down by ten,
five forty seven before halftime. Porter between the circles, touched
to Douglas, come right back here to Porter, Porter, back
to Douglas, top of the wheel, out of Porter down low.
Here's Sarah Williams turn around jump or missed it wide
right in a flat shots poked out though by Land

(33:33):
of Butler. It'll stay with Wisconsin. They'll get twenty on
the shot clock subs and here Mclesky comes back in
for the Bulldogs. Sisconsin's Jimenez gets it in two two
pointer there that's going to be shorts and the rebound
again to Butler. Offensive rebounds a challenge here for Wisconsin

(33:54):
in the first half. Ten point leads still for Butler,
five to twenty left in the first mc Aleski top
of the circle, off to Carter, hands it to Strandy.
Strandy got the advantage here on the slower but larger
Carter McCrae and an off ball foul called on Wisconsin's

(34:16):
Iovanna Spashowski, who came in at the last whistle, the
freshman out of Serbia. Off ball foul, and this will
be an inbounced play here for Butler again. They lead
twenty four to fourteen, five to eleven to go in
the second quarter, Strandy tosses it into Carter and they'll
have plenty of time to work with a fresh twenty
on the shot lock. There's Strandy on the left side,

(34:37):
pops it back out to mcileski, looking for a screen
from Carter. Mcleleski picks up or dribble, goes back to Norman.
Nine to shoot. Now Norman off to Mcleski. Three pointers
straight on, missed it wide left, rebound for Jimenez. See
if the Badgers now can get this thing back to
single digits for the deficit. Down ten four forty seven
left in the second quarter. Spashofski off to Lily Krawn.

(35:01):
Douglas now left to the circle, trying to go to
the right side. Nothing there though, Krawn going to drive
left baseline bounce, passed down low off a foot of
Butler and looks like that was off Strandy's shoe. I'll
stay with Wisconsin. Twelve seconds on the shot clock. Can
tell for Wisconsin wanting to go to their bench. Here
with all the players the butler will throw at you.

(35:22):
They really rotate nine players consistently, so Wisconsin trying to
match that to the best of their abilities. Ssconsin's six
to suit Spashofski off to Jimenez'll drive, toss it out
Krawn wide open three right side. Oh, she made it,
but it won't count as an offensive foul is called
the Badgers as they threw that pass out. Player for
Wisconsin went barreling in to the defense and Lily Krawn's

(35:45):
three does not count and it stays at a ten
point deficit. That was great vision. I thought to pass
it back outside by Jimenez, but good work defensively by
mcilsky setting up there and Jimenez bulldozed or over and
the Lily Kron three does not go on the boards.
Is still a ten point deficit. Four to fourteen left
in the first bounce passed down low for Carter back outside,

(36:07):
the dangerous Mcileski nother three and she hits another triple.
Boy Mcleski shoots twenty nine percent from three point land
here and she hits another one though, and it is
twenty seven to fourteen. Butler, they are up by thirteen
with four oh seven left in the first. This is
their largest lead of the game. Jmenez will bring it

(36:32):
up into the fore court here for the Badgers. Down
by thirteen, and boy do they need an answer. Hemenez
struggling as she crosses over the half court line, and
they will say a reach and foul on Norman. She
does not like that Norman called for her first personal
She thought she was clean. But good John by Jimenez
and you got a player on you kind of lean
into her and force the referees to blow the whistle.

(36:55):
So stays with Wisconsin. Spashofski to inbound under four to
go first sap. Wisconsin down two, twenty seven to fourteen.
As good as the Badgers have been shooting in the
first ten games this year, they only have fourteen points
this late in the first half, down low, Carter McCrae
goes up strong, fouled two free throws upcoming for Carter McCrae.

(37:17):
Cray quickly getting to the free throw line, freeze give
her the ball. First free throw up, missed it, So
she's missed her first free throw of the last one
made the second missus the first year, We'll see if
she can hit the second one ball above her forehead. Boy,
that one barely hit the front of the rim and
missed it. But the rebound comes down to Douglas and
Wisconsin to Meyers three point or left side round and out,

(37:41):
no good rebound to Butler. Cray right now uncomfortable at
the free throw line. That second one barely hit the
front of the rim. It almost airballed short and Wisconsin
down twenty seven to fourteen with three thirty five left
in the first half. Shot goes up for McGuff and
that was a foul I believe on Wisconsin spashofski or

(38:06):
was that on Porter Man? That was on Porter and
McGuff to go to the free throw line for two
right handed shooter mcguffir'st free throw up and she made it.
McGuff is seventy three percent free throw shooter, averages eleven
points per game, and she makes the second twenty nine

(38:29):
to fourteen, fifteen point lead for Butler. Three twenty seven
left before halftime. This is a eleven zero run right
now for the Bulldogs. Inside, there's gonna be McCrae down
low gets it, seal gets broken off the rim, and
Wisconsin finally gets a bucket. Who's been about four minutes
since the Badger have scored a field goal? Twenty nine
to sixteen Butler three oh eight left before halftime. Back

(38:54):
outside for Strandy here's Norman on the right side. Sisconsin
defensively got to try and slow down on this Butler team.
They're pacing well right now, scoring wise. On the left side.
Strandy three pointer er too strong and did she get fout? Yes,
she did. They'll call a foul on Spashofski not letting
Strandy land. She grabs her right leg and her ankle.

(39:17):
This will be free three three free throws for Strandy
if she can shoot them. Spashafski they say to not
allow her to land. The question is can she continue.
She's gonna try, and boy, she is literally not putting
any pressure on that ankle. She's gonna jump on one
leg to the free throw line. They're gonna have her

(39:39):
shoot these. She just jumped to the free throw line
putting no weight on her right leg. She is in
pain right now. She says to the ref, I'll take
the ball. Referee says that, are you sure? She says, yeah,
shrugs her shoulders. This will be three free throws for Strandy.
First one misses, and you do wonder if she's struggling

(39:59):
right now to shoot the free throws because she can't
put any much weight on that right side. Second free
throw and she misses that one Scott, one more coming up,
and if you're Butler, she's gotta make this or else
she's gonna have to stay in and play defense unless

(40:20):
they call a time out. So she can't make this.
And she does hit that, all right. So she hits
that free throw, and now they will sub her out
and she goes over the trainer and she is in
some pain right now, and she's gonna go sit on
the far end of the bench and we'll see if
Caroline Stranding can get back in this game again. A Racine,
Wisconsin native, originally went to Minnesota then at Butler the

(40:42):
last three seasons. And she's got her team up though
thirty to sixteen, two forty nine left in the second quarter,
Sconsin down by fourteen. Here is Natalie Leitzinger for the Badgers.
Moves it into the forecourt down low that right block,
Sarah Williams going up to work against Jans up and
under move off the glens and it is good, all right,
Sierrah Williams and Wisconsin within twelve. The Badgers come back

(41:07):
on defense thirty to eighteen. They trail to twenty seven
left in the second quarter. Wisconsin with just eighteen points
with two twenty two to go before halftime. McGuff off
to Mkileski on the left side. Those two play catch
at the top of the wheel, although push it over
the right side Zeinstro loses it goes out oh last
touch by Lightsinger. She doesn't like that call. Referee shakes

(41:31):
her head. Yes, that is the right call, and six
seconds will be on the shot clock. Here for Butler. Mcleleski.
Throw it in the back court. Five seconds to shoot.
Norman moves into the fore court. Three seconds. Norman picks
up her dribble. She'll heave it up. Misses that hit
the left side of the rim. Rebound comes two goes

(41:51):
out of bounds, last touched by James A. Butler, and
this will go to Wisconsin two to oh two left
in the second ssconsin down thirty to eighteen. Coach Moseley
talking with the referees. That call went her way, but
talking with them and nodding her head. And the Badgers

(42:15):
come up the floor. Got spash Offski with Douglas, Lightsinger,
Williams and Tess Meyer's your three point threat out on
the floor right now, back door cut. There's Lightsinger a
little wide left, goes off her wrist and the turnover
here to'll come back to Butler. Thirty to eighteen. Butler
won forty left before halftime. Offensively, there's a three pointer

(42:35):
on the right side, a little too strong by Zenstra
followed up her miss, just unable to get it though,
and thankfully Lightsinger's able to grab it, avoids the second
chance opportunity for Butler. Thirty to eighteen. The Badger's down
twelve with the ball one twenty four left in the second. Here,
Sarah Williams trying to go up, got fouled right away,
and we'll see if that's on the floor or if

(42:56):
that would be a shooting foules might be bonus time
anyway here for the Badge, and it is so bonus
shots anyway here for Wisconsin. Two free throws for Sarah Williams,
trying to get this thing to a ten point deficit.
First free throw up and good. You need to make most,

(43:16):
if not all, your free throws the rest of the
way here, trying to get back in this thing. Second
free throw for Williams made them both thirty to twenty.
Butler the ten point lead one to eleven left in
the second quarter in Wisconsin, try and play some defense
going to halftime, down single digits inside mclesky offer mits
a little too high and that'll be a turnover and

(43:38):
it will be Wisconsin's ball. All right, good defense there
by the Badgers down thirty to twenty one oh three
leve before half time and a full court press being
set up by the Bulldogs. I'll get some subs coming
in here, Lily Stoddard will check in. Johnson comes up

(44:00):
the floor less than a minute left before halftime. Wisconsin
trying to get this to single digits. Lightsinger passes it
inside to Williams left of the paint. Now she'll move inside,
lost it, reach in foul and two more free throws
upcoming for Sarah Williams made her last two. We'll see
if Williams can pour these two. Win. Williams settles into

(44:23):
the free throw line, shot up and good leaned a
little bit there. It didn't like the first shot. Here's
her second one. Hit that one, and Sarah Williams for
her last four in free throws. Wisconsin down eight forty
nine seconds left in the second. All right, so Butler

(44:44):
offensively Wisconsin down by eight. Here Wiggins top of the circle,
pass it inside. Oh Mcileski missed it, but it goes
right to Jeans and Butler retains possession. Here's Wiggins now
three pointers straight on, straight through. Another triple there for
the Bulldogs. There are seven of fifteen now shooting threes,
Wisconsin oh for four and the Badger's down eleven. There's

(45:08):
about a half a second differential game clock to shot clock,
so Wisconsin can effectively play for the final shot of
this first half. Thirteen seconds Lightsinger on the right side,
pass it off top of the wheel. There's Williams. She's
gonna drive six seconds, spin move for Williams four seconds
up left side, good, three seconds, two seconds, and that's

(45:29):
gonna do it. For the first half well, at times
Wisconsin struggled scoring one on some large scoring droughts, but
they're able to get the basket there and they go
into halftime down thirty three to twenty four at Butler halftime.
Coming up will have our player interview. We'll look at
team and individual stats. Second road game of the Badgers
this season, down by eleven at halftime against Butler. This

(45:50):
is badge of basketball from lear Field before John Audius
John getting ready to scrambles Nebraska with Wisconsin Volleyball Sweet
sixteen volleyball action in Butler, Indianapolis, Indiana, Wisconsin trailing the
Bulldogs thirty three to twenty four at halftime. Wisconsin outscored
fifteen to thirteen in the first and eighteen to eleven

(46:11):
in the second, but Wisconsin made their last three field
goals and some free throws by Sarah Williams as Wisconsin
within eleven. Earlier today, got a chance to talk with
a Badgear freshman out of Spain, Album Martin Mesa, who
was working her way not just a freshman in college
on the basketball floor academically, but also coming to the

(46:31):
United States and dealing with the weather and all sorts
of stuff. So here was the conversation we had with
Album Martin Mesa Alba the obvious question, a gal from
Spain coming to Wisconsin, how are you doing with the
cold weather?

Speaker 2 (46:46):
That's a good question. I'm actually sick, didn't it? So
I'm not very really good and it's gone to be worse,
they say, but I gotta get used to it.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Did you have any sperience with weather like this in
your time growing up or are you experiencing this for
the first time, Like I I.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Didn't go, for example, in holidays to ski, So for
that part, I've seen this, no and all, but no,
I haven't experienced like in every day whether like this.

Speaker 1 (47:25):
What about Wisconsin was interesting to you? Why why do
you want to become a Badger?

Speaker 2 (47:31):
I think it's first of all, it's like a pretty
it's like one of the best universe of Lise. I
think they really have a good academic program. And then
also the team, the coaches. I really like the coach
just talk to me and the fight that we're in

(47:52):
the Big ten based conference, and yeah, I mean it's
also a beautiful city, like we did wear your moman
before coming here, and it's really beautiful.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
We love to hear that. We're talking with freshman album
Martin Mesa, who you were a big part of the
under seventeen team, the title of Spanish champions, a third
place finish at the U one B level. So you
have this experience, Coach Mosley said, you have represented your
country at every level since you were twelve years old.
How much have those experiences helped with this transition in

(48:25):
college at a Big ten school.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
I think basketball in general, it's like when you play basketball.
You're really uh er tensa teamwork and I think my
maturity team is here. So after like I for the

(48:50):
college part, I didn't really think it was going to
be a here steal. Guess I feel like I'm doing
good in academics. I was more worried about the team
and trading in you know, but I think it's pretty
much the same. Just see them every day, you like
the environment. That's it.

Speaker 1 (49:14):
Well, final one for you album, And we were talking
in the pregame with coach Mosley about this is final
exam time and there are a lot of pressures as
a student. Sounds like you're pretty confident in the classroom.
How are your first experiences with studying at a university
for these final exams?

Speaker 2 (49:30):
So I think that this PURP semester isn't really a
really bad semester for me because I had to some
general classes in all. But I I would say, I'm
I'm prefared for an exams, I want to think. So

(49:53):
we'll see next year's, but yeah, I think I'm prepared.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
There.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
She is freshman album marteen masa fun visiting with her
earlier today. Coming up next we will take a look
at team stats Wisconsin at Butler and they are trailing
at the half thirty three two twenty four. This is
badge of basketball from lear field. Half time continues Butler
leading Wisconsin thirty three to two twenty four. Let's look
at those team stats and interestingly, both teams shooting forty

(50:21):
one percent from the field. The trouble is Wisconsin zero
for four shooting threes, Butler seven of fifteen for forty
seven percent. So Butler seven more threes and Wisconsin in
that first half, the Badgers did not make a single
one from the floor Wisconsin nine to twenty two. Overall,
Butler eleven of twenty seven free throws, Wisconsin six of twelve.

(50:42):
They're a better free throw shooting team than that through
the first ten games. Got to get that on track
in the second half. Butler made four of their six
free throw attempts. Eight turnovers by the Bulldogs Wisconsin with six,
the Badgers eight points off those turnovers, and the Bulldogs
with three total rebounds. Big advantage for Butler seventeen to
ten to seven defensive rebound advantage and seven to five

(51:04):
offensive rebound advantage for Butler. Butler has eight second chance points,
Wisconsin with just two and the Badgers also only two
bench points, Butler has fourteen and so as they're getting
more production from their bench and keeping players fresher, we'll
see how that affects Wisconsin in the second half. Points
in the paint Wisconsin eighteen. Sarah Williams has been really good.

(51:24):
Six points by Butler in the paint. Fast break points
Wisconsin didn't have any, Butler had three. Neither team had
a block, and Wisconsin's six steals in the first half
Butler with three. We'll look at individual numbers when we
come back. Wisconsin trailing Butler thirty three to twenty four
at halftime. This is Wisconsin basketball from lear Field thirty

(51:49):
three to twenty four. The halftime score, Butler leading the Badgers.
Let's look at individuals scoring in four Butler, They've got
a lot of players on the stat sheet. Maleski's got
nine points, three of six from the field, that is
all three pointers by the way, a rebound and then
assist in sixteen minutes, five points for James, four apiece
for Strandy and Carter, three points for Carbondy and Land,

(52:10):
and then two points for McGuff. Also Wiggins with a
three pointer that she hits. So they have got a
lot of players in the scoring column for Wisconsin, it
is all Sarah Williams. Of the twenty four points Wisconsin has,
fifteen of those are from Sarah Williams five of nine
from the field, five of six shooting free throws, three
rebounds in seventeen minutes. And we told you in the

(52:30):
pregame that last year, Sarah Williams had a tremendous game.
She had twenty four points and fourteen rebounds. The next
highest scorer was just eight points Groundhog's Day here. Unfortunately
for Sarah Williams, she's again fifteen points. But the next
highest scoring teammate is Ronnie Porter with four points, two
of four from the field in fourteen minutes. You've got

(52:51):
three points by Carter McCrae, a field goal and a
free throw, and other than that, Tes Meyers oh for
three shooting all of those threes. Natalie Leitsinger is oh
for three. So this has been a real challenging first
half for Wisconsin. They're going to need more players to
get involved in the scoring column. That's individual numbers. We'll
take our final break. Come back with the second half,
Wisconsin down thirty three to twenty four in Indianapolis against Butler.

(53:15):
This is Badger basketball from lear Field, Wisconsin, trailing Butler
thirty three to twenty four, just getting ready for the
start of quarter number three. The Badgers eight and two
against nine to two Butler, but at times are rough
first half. There by the Badgers got out scored eighteen
to eleven in the second. And here we go for
half number two Butler. We'll start off on offense the
white home uniforms with the dark blue trim and for

(53:38):
the Badgers, red jerseys and shorts with the right numerals
on the front and back and right out of the gates.
Mcleski going to try a three, missed it and then
pokes out of bounds, and that will be missed by Butler,
and Wisconsin will get chance to come on offense, and
the Badgers, down thirty three to twenty four, get a
stop there on Butler's first third quarter possession. The Badgers

(54:01):
with their first chance starters back in for Wisconsin. That's McCrae, Myers, Porter,
Lightsinger and Williams as they moved to our rights in
an off ball reach in foul on a bulldog, and
that will be on Norman so Norman called for her
second less than thirty seconds into this third, and the

(54:22):
Badgers will reset things offensively down thirty three to twenty four.
Here's Porter for the Badgers, top of the circle. For
Lightsinger trying to go down low. There is Williams face's
upper defenders. Get pass off to Myers. She'll move on
the left side inside the circle. Long two missed it
too strong. Rebound comes down to Butler and then McCray
fighting through it. Louis picked up by McGuff and the

(54:44):
Bulldogs run up the floor eleven point lead. Forty five
seconds into the third, there's McGuff off to Carter for
the Bulldogs. Test Myers zero for four from the field.
It's her first two point attempt. Carmody picks up a dribble,
getting double team down there in the paint, trying to
sh level it off and reach in foul on a Badger.
Looks like that's Carter McCrae the guilty party, and for

(55:07):
McCray that'll be her second personal and this will be
on the floor. So each team with one personal fouled
start off the third. We're a minute in here and
Butler to inbound it right to their basket as we
see it. First couple options aren't there. They'll toss it
into Carter and a five second call. All right, maybe

(55:32):
a little bit of a quick five seconds, but five
seconds done. The last turnover Butler back to Wisconsin. We
go with the basketball, Wisconsin down eleven. I just want
to see if they can get this thing to single digits,
then get it within five, and then really make this
thing exciting. In the fourth quarter, down low for Sarah
Williams on the left block, tries to go up strong

(55:53):
off the glass, a little too high rebound, there's Sarah
Williams cleans up her own miss goes up strong on
the right side that time, and there the Badgers go
thirty three to twenty six, Wisconsin down. Ninety seconds into
the third john by Williams following up her Mission's got
seventeen of Wisconsin's twenty six points. Mcleski now comes into

(56:14):
the free throw line, backs it out top of the circle.
Down low, try to force it. Good defense there by
McCrae stolen away. Ronnie Porter Badgers inside again to Williams.
Feed the hot hand right block. She'll go up on
that baseline. Oh somehow didn't go in and there comes
back the other way for Butler. Thought that was a
great Sarah Williams classic move, just hung on the rim.

(56:35):
Didn't go back to Norman now and Butler offensively. Two
minutes into the third thirty three to twenty six, Butler,
here's a driving out bounce past down low and that's
too much room for Kristen Carter and the sophomore puts
it off the window on the left side. Thirty five
twenty six. Butler seven fifty left in the third sconsin
multiple times in that first half, left the block all

(56:56):
alone on the help defense. It didn't get back Williams
now four is it left side missed, it goes up fouled,
and Sarah Williams with some missues but getting offensive rebounds.
And she'll have two free throws here. Norman will go
take a seat. Picked up that foul there. That is
her third personal and she's really the quarterback at times

(57:18):
of this offense for Butler. So that's a big thing here.
First free throw, good bye Williams. That's a big deal
that she has to go take a seat. Second free
throw for Williams. That one also good. So Williams seven
of eight from the free throw line. Wisconsin down by seven,
seven and a half to go on the third. Wiggin's
in the game now for Butler gives them a guff

(57:39):
right back to Wiggins, cross court pass to mclesky, forces
it into Carter. Oh missed it, but then they'll say
a foul on Wisconsin's Carter McCrae, or was that on Williams,
But they get that on foul on Williams. Williams her first.
That's good. That would have been McCrae's third, so that's
actually fortunate that it was on Williams on the floor,

(58:02):
So no free throw. Seven twenty one left in the third,
thirty five twenty eight, Butler and the Bulldogs retained possession.
McCleskey goes right back inside to Carter, going up against
the Badger's McCrae. Kristen Carter turned around with the right hook.
That's a pretty move, went over at the top of
Carter McCrae, and it's thirty seven to twenty eight Butler.
Three minutes into the third, here's Ronnie Porter for the

(58:23):
Badgers to Wisconsin's McCrae, Lightsinger inside the circle back outside
to Myers. Myyer's gonna pull it back out to light Singer.
Wisconsin plenty of time on the shot clock. Here inside
there's McCray gets double teamed, going to toss it back
outside nine to shoot for Porter. Porter on the right
side at the free throw line, Williams gonna try the
fifteen foot or too strong off the back of the rim.

(58:45):
The rebound to Carmody and Butler are going to move
up the floor quickly. Here's Carmeny' zigzagging into the lane,
goes up, got that one block, Sarah Williams the Badger
block there comes back down to Wisconsin offensively, still down
by nine, six and a half to go. On the third,
Williams for the Badgers, off to Natalie Lightsinger, gives to
Sarah Williams on the left block, backing down. Carter now

(59:07):
cutting inside. There's McCrae. Good dish by Sarah Williams. Off
to Carter McCrae and she puts in the runner and
Wisconsin within seven six oh seven to go. In the third, Wiggins,
wearing that number three for Butler at the free throw line,
kicks it back outside. Mcleskey had some good threes. Mcleskey
did in the third. Scott's trying to get a hand

(59:29):
in front of her right away Carmody. Now she's gonna
hoist a three, That one too strong off the back
of the iron. Carter grabs a long miss, though, and
a fresh twenty on the shot clock for Butler. Offensive
rebounds now eight for Butler. Sconson trying to keep this
thing to a seven point deficit and reach in foul
as Carmody drove on Porter and for Ronnie Porter, she

(59:51):
will pick up foul number three. And boy, that is
still five point forty left in the third, and Williams
and Porter have to go take a seat. So in
comes Jimenez and Halle Douglas and Porter. With those three,
we might not see her till the fourth quarter. Here's
Wiggins at the free throw line, kicks it back outside Carmody.
She's now going to drive into the paint, goes left

(01:00:13):
side to the right block, left it short rebound there
to the Badgers, and another whistle. It'll be a foul
on Jans of Butler. So teams trading fouls here and
it will stay with Wisconsin thirty seven to thirty. Butler
with the lead five and a half to go in
the third. Here's Heemenez for the Badgers into the four courts,

(01:00:35):
comes off on the right side. Seven point deficit for
the Badgers without Ronnie Porter and Sarah Williams, who has
nineteen of Wisconsin's thirty two points there on the bench.
So this is big minutes here for these other players.
Tes Meyer's into the paint, goes back outside to Lightsinger.
She'll drive got James right on her, lighting her a
little quicker than James and go down low. There is
Douglas goes up strong off the right block and Hallie

(01:00:58):
Douglas finishes with a great on the right side. Just
four points, but that's a big bucket. Three pointer left
side misses, but another offensive rebound by James of Butler.
Five point deficit though here for Wisconsin. Four forty eight
left in the third. We'll see if they can get
a stop. Got to get some of these rebounds off.
These misses. Too many second chance points for Butler. They

(01:01:18):
have ten right now in the game. Inside, there's Wiggans
gonna go high off the glass, and that bucket is
through athletic play there by Ari Wiggins went high off
the glass, top of that square on the window and
it's thirty nine thirty two Butler four to twenty five
left in the third, and then is now for the
Badger's running the points. Gives to light Singer between the

(01:01:40):
circles left of the circle. Now ball over her head.
Hallie Douglas pass it down low inside. There's a jump
stop by Carter McCrae. Thought she got fouled. Basket counts anyway.
Thirty nine, thirty four, Wisconsin back to the five point deficit,
four h six left in the third. Much better third
quarter here for Wisconsin. We'll see if they can get
to this eighty timeout that will be at the next

(01:02:02):
dead ball. Here's Wiggins moves into the circle, goes back
outside for Butler thirteen to shoot. Wiggins download to James
back outside, three pointer right side. That's a miss by McGuff.
Rebound comes down to Wisconsin. Good stop there by the Badgers.
Here they come now offensively. Dannis m men As little
euro step went up, missed it but got fouled, and

(01:02:23):
that'll be a foul on Wiggins her first personal four
as a team for Butler, and we do go to
that media timeout. Good job out of the gates here
for Wisconsin. In the second half, cut the deficit. Now
they're within five thirty nine thirty four, three forty one
left in the third. You're listening to Badger basketball from
lear Field Bager Pansada's Gaen is brought to you by

(01:02:43):
the official products of Wisconsin Athletics, Broub, Lots of Matza, Pizza,
Old Dutch Chips, and Pepsi. Reid Magnan filling in for
John oudis busy with Wisconsin volleyball. The Badger women's basketball
team trailing Butler thirty nine to thirty four, but they
have outscore Butler ten to six in this third quarter.
Ronnie Porter right now with three personal fouls, will see

(01:03:05):
when she's going to get back into this game, as
she had to leave there with just under five left
in the third. Otherwise he got two personal fouls by Spashofski.
Everyone else won though for the Badger's going to keep
an eye on whether or not Ronnie Porter's gonna be
able to get back in this game. Before the fourth
Sarah Williams and Porter were on the bench for the

(01:03:28):
last few minutes. Williams will come back in for the
Badgers and Porter will continue to take a seat. That
puts a lot of pressure on Wisconsin's Dannas Jmenez. All right,
so free throw for Jimenez. Boy, that one hit the
back of the rim, swirled around and then popped out.

(01:03:48):
Thought it was going to go through. Second free throw
here by Jimenez. Got to get your free throws in
this second half free throw She missed them both tipped
back by Douglas. Scramble on the floor, and it's going
to be a whistle called who's the foul on? Fowl's
gonna be on McGuff of Butler. This will stay with

(01:04:11):
Wisconsin second personal foul on McGuff. That is now five
Butler team fouls in this third and that is really
all Halle Douglas with the effort to poke it back
cause the pile up Butler said. Coach Parkinson's not happy,
and the free throw will go back to Jmenez. She'll
get two more to try. Referee gave her the basketball.

(01:04:36):
She said, it's wet from sweat, so Mitch Simmons, director
of Wisconsin women's basketball, grabs a towel. They'll wipe that off,
and good john By Jimenez, you don't feel comfortable with
that ball in your hands, say something and she'll have
two more free throws here miss the last two. It
comes Samenaz with the first round and out missed it. Well,

(01:04:57):
these are close falling update for you two. Caroline Strandy,
the Racine, Wisconsin native for Butler, injured her ankle in
that third. I think she's done. Foot up, wrapped an ice,
She's got it elevated, just zipped the jacket up. She
is going to be done for the rest of the evening.
Their leading score. Second free throw for Jimenez that misses
goes zero for four there on that possession from free throws,

(01:05:20):
and the lead for Butler stays at five three twenty
eight left in the third. Settling now in the man
a man defense, Zinstre in the game four. Butler off
to McGuff wide open three pointers straight on, too strong
rebound for Jimenez. Badger's back the other way. Lily kron Spashofski,
Douglas and Williams the five on the floor running hard.
There's Douglas got the big lead feed off the glass

(01:05:42):
in the right side. Hallie Douglas puts it in six
points for Douglas, Wisconsin with thirty six overall the trail,
Butler by three three minutes to go in quarter number
three back the other way quickly for Butler going up.
That's a miss and a foul though, as Land went
up wrong, and she will have two free throws. And

(01:06:03):
she actually got that basket to go. Check that basket
went and she's got one free throw here as Land
got the hand off top of the circle and went
in strong with the left, got bumped by Douglas and
she will go to the free throw line and a
chance to make it a three point play. Miss the
free throw though, William's the Badger rebound and Wisconsin's deficit

(01:06:26):
is five two fifty left in the third. The Badger's
back on offense. It spash office on the left side
for the UW got McGuff right up on her defensively.
Here is deannas Amenez for the Badgers, gets a screen,
goes up, rises Hung missed it on the right side
off the glass. Rebound comes down to Butler. Boy pretty
move by deannas Amenez. Couldn't finish though, and then down

(01:06:48):
on the right side wide open was Land got fouled,
missed it. Two more free throws upcoming for Joscelyn Land.
Now there was on spashofski of the Badgers and Spashawski
now with three two thirty left in the third forty

(01:07:09):
one thirty six, Butler and Land back to the free
throw line, this time for a pair. Flips the ball
in front of her, spins it off the floor. Free
throw misses, and the Land frustrated with herself as she
walks back to that three point line, see if she
can miss another one here. Second free throw for Land

(01:07:31):
that one misses. Oh for three on free throws this evening,
and the Badger's still down just by five to twenty
five left in the third. Ronnie Porter back in the
game for Wisconsin, playing with three personal fouls, takes out
Jimenez outside. There's Douglas for the Badgers. Back to Porter
on the right side. Porter gets a william screen, comes
inside the circle, hesitation, move out to Spashofski. Now down

(01:07:53):
low left block, there's william goes up Fowel missed it,
but two free throws upcoming for the Badgers, Sarah william
It's twenty points right now for Williams, and she will
step to the free throw line for two more big
free throws for Wisconsin. In this game, they have shot
eighteen free throws, made eight of them, so that is

(01:08:19):
less than fifty percent, and it's going to be tough
for them to take if at the end of the
game it was free throws that cost him. Got to
make your charity free throw shots. Here we go for
Sarah Williams. Janes will take a seat for the Bulldogs.
Test Myers in the game for Wisconsin. Williams with two
here first, one up and she got it forty one

(01:08:41):
thirty seven Wisconsin now within four second free throw made
them both and Sarah Williams gets both free throws. Keep in.
My largest lead for Butler was fifteen. That was at
the three thirty four mark of the second. Wisconsin has
brought this thing all the way back to a three
point deficit under two minutes left in the third. Wisconsin

(01:09:02):
doubling up the scoring in this third quarter on Butler.
And here's Butler offensively, Land almost lost the ball, picks
it back up, gets it outside to Zeinstra on the
left side. There's Wiggins gonna come into the lane right
in front of her, spash offs, he alters the shot,
rebound comes down. This will be taken by Wisconsin's Myers,
and look here the Badgers down by three. A chance

(01:09:23):
to tie it or get this thing within one forty
one thirty eight Wisconsin down. But with the ball there's
Sarah Williams off the right side block, gets it up
and the Badgers are within one forty one to forty one,
twenty three left in the third. This has been a
gritty third quarter for Mcleskey comes inside the paint outside

(01:09:45):
Wiggins three pointer left corner, misses that one rebound, comes
all the way back out to Butler at the three
point arc. Another offensive rebound by the Bulldogs. Shot clock
resets to twenty. Now inside there's Land Goes, gets fouled
and makes the b basket boy Jocelyn Land, I'm going
to live here, unfortunately in this third court or another
chance at the three point play, chess bumps a couple

(01:10:07):
teammates forty three to forty Butler, Land a chance to
another three point play. She's missed her three free throws.
She's taken with one minute left in the third, She'll
go to the free throw line again. Land a player
who averages two point seven points per game, so makes

(01:10:28):
that one. She's got eight points on the evening, and
she'll go to the bench. And I gotta say I'm
happy to see her go. I wouldn't take out the
player with the hot hand, but Butler will go with
their rotations in Wisconsin down forty four to forty under
a minute left in the third, here's Porter to bring
it up the four court for Wisconsin. Porter Hin on

(01:10:49):
the left side. William's offeringer a screen, should she want
to take it, and she will. Now Williams floater misses
that one too strong, awkward off the backboard, didn't hit
any rim. Wiggins now with the rebound, moves up the
floor quickly. Carmody three point or left side in transition.
That's too strong, but another offensive rebound for Butler. That's
eleven on the game, Wisconsin with seven and these extra

(01:11:11):
possessions really hurting Wisconsin. Here down by four twenty seven
seconds left in the third, eight to shoot for Butler.
Carmody in the circle, holds it back at the free
throw line, now throws it out of bounds. Right side
player cut in front of her. Mcleski. She wasn't ready
for it. Turnover. There comes back to Wisconsin turnovers in
this game, eleven for Butler. Wisconsin has committed only six turnovers.

(01:11:33):
One of the reasons Wisconsin within four points twenty one
point two left in the third shot clock turned off,
Wisconsin can play for the final shot of this third quarter.
Here comes Ronnie Porter up the floor for the Badgers going.
It takes some time off here thirteen seconds now goes
to Williams ten seconds. Williams getting double teams, goes back
out to Myers three point or right side for testing.

(01:11:54):
Myers misses it. Rebound there Douglas three seconds outside Porter
as a shot clock expires and the game clock expires
in the third quarter, miss that one too. Two different
good looking, high percentage shots there by, Wisconsin missed them both,
and the third quarter comes to an end. Wisconsin trailing
Butler forty four two forty. We'll take a break, come
back with some stats, and get ready for the fourth quarter.

(01:12:17):
Badgers down by four in Indianapolis. This is Badger basketball
from lear field to three quarters Wisconsin the trailing Butler
forty four to forty A sixteen to eleven A third
quarter four Wisconsin very productive and the Badgers are within
four Before we continue, Let's get to our ATC smart
play of the game. ATC Energizing your future with Smart
Careers forty one thirty eight Wisconsin down, but with the ball,

(01:12:43):
there's Sarah Williams off the right side block gets it
up and the Badgers are within one forty one to
forty one, twenty three left in the third ATC, energizing
your future with smart careers. ATC, you're smart. Play of
the game and Sarah Williams. Twenty three of was Josin's
forty points credited to Williams. Seven to fifteen from the field,

(01:13:03):
nine of ten shooting free throws in twenty five minutes.
She has seven rebounds, a couple of assists in there,
just one turnover and only two fouls. Sarah Williams leading
an everyone and it's not close. Highest scorer is mclesky
with nine points for Butler, but all of those coming
in the first half. She was held scoreless in that
third quarter of play. Otherwise, for Wisconsin, your only other scorers,

(01:13:25):
believe it or not, McCrae has seven. She is three
of three from the field, six points for Douglas, four
points for Porters. So nobody else other than Williams in
double digits. And right now for Wisconsin they are struggling
getting production from Tess Meyers. She is oh of five
from the field of four shooting threes. Lightsinger also scoreless.
Right now she is oh for three, spashofski Jimenez oh

(01:13:48):
for one. Krawn has not attempted a shot. She actually
hit a three, but it didn't count off an off
ball foul. So if you'd have said that Lightsinger and
Meyers would be scoreless and you would only be down
by less than five going into the fourth, I say
you'd be surprised as a Badger fan. But that is
where we sit as we get ready for the fourth
quarter of play. Scoonson fifteen to thirty seven from the field.

(01:14:09):
That's forty one percent. Butler seventeen to forty three. That
is forty percent, but again seven made threes by Butler.
Wisconsin doesn't have any. That is the difference. Offensive possession,
first one of this fourth quarter for the Badgers a turnover.
They try to backdoor pass to Williams, stolen away by Butler,
and Wisconsin comes up empty in their first possession of
the fourth quarter. Wisconsin down forty four to forty as

(01:14:32):
Butler down for their first offensive possession of the fourth
scoop up and under by Karmody and that from right
to left off the glass and in, and it's a
six point lead for Butler. Thirty seconds into the fourth quarter,
Ronnie Porter, now for the Badgers, comes into the circle,
tosses it over to Lightsinger. Thought about a three and
gotten her face quickly see for Lightsinger still scoreless in

(01:14:55):
this game. If she'll trust her shot. In this fourth quarter,
there's Williams now sixteen footter inside the circle, round and out,
missed it, rebounded Butler. Minute in here, Butler up forty
six to forty. Wisconsin's come up empty on their first
two offensive possessions. Mcleski now left of the circle, back
out to mcileski from Carter outside. Touched by a Badger. Yes,

(01:15:17):
that was tipped out by Porter. I'll stay with Butler.
Sixteen seconds on the shot clock, forty six to forty.
Butler won. Ten into the fourth far sideline here for Wiggins.
Gets it into mcileski and Butler will run some offense.
Ten the shot clock. Carmody has Meyers right up on her,

(01:15:38):
almost stripped it away. Now she'll stick with it. Seven
seconds to shoot. Carmody gonna come up, toss it back
out mcleleski. Three seconds and there's Lightsinger steals it away
for Wisconsin and the Badger's force another Butler turnover. Down
by six. Here comes uw inside left block. There's Sarah
Williams trying to spin move, goes up and under halfway down,
missed it. Williams though, puts it back off the glass. Yes,

(01:16:00):
and Wisconsin within four. Forty six to forty two. Sarah
Williams twenty five points in this game, and the Badgers
come back down on defense. Eight twelve left in the
fourth Offensively for Butler, Carmody at the free throw line
trying to backdoor cut to McGuff, got it to her
right away. The Badgers pounce on her and a timeout

(01:16:23):
called by Butler. Double team there and coach Parkinson's didn't
want to risk anything, and he'll take a time out
less than two minutes into this fourth quarter. That'll be
immediate timeout, so we'll step aside. Forty six to forty two,
Butler leading Wisconsin eight oh two left in the fourth quarter.
This is Wisconsin basketball from lear Field. Eight oh two

(01:16:47):
left in the fourth forty six forty two, Butler leading
the Badgers. Here, Wisconsin trying to improve to what would
be nine and two, and for the Badgers after their
best start in over a decade and trying to get
this thing to get their first victory on the road
of the season. This is just their second road game

(01:17:08):
this year. Their first loss was at South Dakota State
back in November fourteen, seventy nine to fifty seven. This
game started off slow, Sconsin got outscored fifteen to thirteen
in the first, but then by seven in the second.
So when at a half time with the deficit but
plus five in the third, each team has scored two
points here in the fourth in a slow start to
this final quarter. But see what Wisconsin can do here.

(01:17:30):
Should the Badgers get a win and they would have
their best start in about fifteen years if they can
get the win here. But for Wisconsin facing a Butler
team that's also nine to two, and they are trending
in a positive direction. These programs, as we said in
the onset, very similar where they're at it. Hired their
coach in the last few years, coach Mosley coming in

(01:17:51):
in the twenty twenty one season for coach Parkinson's Butler
came in the twenty twenty two campaign, and both coaches
feeling like they'll be able to recruit and transfer portal
more of their players in and both strong starts here
in the early part of the season. Wisconsin trying to
gut one out here and there's mcilesky right out of
the timeout, goes right around her defender, puts it up.

(01:18:12):
First points for her. In the second half, she's got
eleven and Wisconsin back down by six forty eight forty two,
seven forty eight left. In the fourth, Sarah Williams her
Wisconsin twenty five points in this game, goes to Carter
McCrae hands it off, No, lost it and stuck with it,
goes back outside the lightsinger Lightsinger top of the circle here,
Wisconsin tend to shoot. There's Williams backcut, goes up strong

(01:18:34):
Williams over top of her defender, give her twenty seven points.
On the evening, Sarah Williams has her team back within
four seven to twenty four left. Sarah Williams career high
is thirty one. She's done that three times. She's got
twenty seven here this evening and Wisconsin back down on defense.
Outside there's mcileski three pointer a little wide left, missed

(01:18:56):
it rebound No to Butler missed that one. Another rebound
comes down to Butler. Ball pinballs around and we'll have
a jump ball Possessioniro will stay with Butler. That was
three offensive rebounds in that possession, and they keep possession
with the arrow. And if Wisconsin doesn't win this game,
you're gonna look at those offensive rebounds. Butler with fourteen

(01:19:18):
right now, and those second chance points that they've had.
They got thirteen second chance points in the game. That
is more than the difference that time. They miss it
down to the left, William's there to grab the rebound,
and here come the Badgers down forty eight to forty four,
under seven to go in regulation. Williams passes to Douglas
off ball foul called on Mclesky of Butler be her

(01:19:43):
first personal first team foul. This fourth Sisconsin will inbound it.
Ronnie Porter will be the one to inbound. Six to
fifty left in the fourth, Wisconsin down by four. Porter
now left of the circle, moves back top of the wheel,
pickscept for dribble overhead, pass to Douglas, puts it over
her head. There's Porter again right block. Williams spin move

(01:20:05):
goes up left, it short grabs her miss, goes up
again and Sarah Williams have yourself a night. Twenty nine points,
ten rebounds. She is ten of twenty one from the field,
nine of ten shooting free throws, and she is two
points away from tying her career high. Williams almost with
the steal at the top of the wheel. Sconsin down
by two, six point twenty left in the fourth, and

(01:20:26):
we're gonna have another time out called by Butler coach
Parkinson's feels like his team is totally out of sync,
and we will have another media timeout and we will
take another break. Forty eight forty six Wisconsin within two,
six twenty one left in the fourth. This is badger
basketball from lear Field getting set up here for quite
a finish. Wisconsin women's basketball in Indianapolis, trailing Butler forty

(01:20:48):
eight to forty six, six point twenty one left in
the fourth. Slow start for Wisconsin in this game, but boy,
they have cranked it up here in this second half
and they are outscoring Butler twenty two to fifteen, and
they have this thing within two. Sconsin has never led
in this game, or excuse me. They did lead very

(01:21:08):
early on in the first opening minutes, but they have
not led since there was about four and a half
minutes left in the first quarter. So it has been
dominant by Butler in the second quarter, third quarter of
the Wisconsin climbed back in it, and here we go
for the fourth. Butler had a fifteen point lead with
three thirty four left in the second. Sconsin's got this

(01:21:31):
thing to within two six twenty one left in the fourth.
It's been for Wisconsin in the early part of this year.
They've won these close games most of them and the
only time they did in San Diego State down in
Cancun for the Thanksgiving Challenge, the loss against South Dakota State,
that was by a pretty wide margin. So in these
close games, including last Sunday against Rutgers for the Big

(01:21:52):
Ten opener, Wisconsin's been able to finish. And that is
something coach Mosley has been preaching here for her first
three seasons. Fourth season and see what this night we'll bring?
What will the headline be tomorrow six nineteen to go
back to Butler and right out of the timeout coming
in hard fouled Zeenstra. She will make the basket and

(01:22:13):
go to the free throw line and a chance to
complete the three point play that was a drawn up
play by Butler out of the timeout and give them credit.
That was just what they needed. As Norman got the
back door cut, Zeinstra went up strong, collided into McCrae.
That was a good foul called by the reps, and
Zeinstra at the free throw line makes the free throw

(01:22:33):
and just like that, fifty one forty six Butler six
sixteen remaining up the floor comes Ronnie Porter. The Badgers
gets a screen by Williams off to Carter McCrae. Lightsinger
in the game. Here for the Badgers. Lightsinger still scoreless
in this contest. Porter for the Badgers. Six minutes to go,
Porter tend to shoot, goes up right side off the

(01:22:56):
glass and in Ronnie Porter just her six point of
the night. Spend twenty nine points by Williams. That's been
keeping Wisconsin in this game. Sconsin down by three, five
forty six to go. Here's Norman a Butler players cutting
in front of her, back outside. James hands it off
to McGuff. Now McGuff gonna go back outside download of

(01:23:18):
James tend to shoot. James backing down the smaller Lightsinger.
Williams there to help. Now they'll spin it around to Norman.
Seven seconds in the shot clock. Norman gonna drive, gets
double team there, three seconds picked up for dribble. Gonna
have to just toss it up back for doesn't count
shot clock violation. Wisconsin tremendous defense there, fifty one, forty
eight down by three, five point twenty two to go.

(01:23:39):
It's badger ball and Butler's gonna set up with a
full court press. Porter gets it in for mcray. Now
they're gonna back off here to Norman is just gonna
walk Porter up into the four court Porter for Wisconsin
Lightsinger to her right, McCrae to her left, and he
got Douglas and Williams in front. Give it to Williams

(01:24:01):
twenty nine points, two away from tying her career high.
Williams loses that though she tried to make her move
cut through a couple Bulldogs lost it. Butler comes back
offensively a fifty one to forty eight under five to go,
toss it back out. A little bump there as Zinestro
is trying to pass it out to the three point line.
That is a foul by Douglas, and this will be

(01:24:23):
an inbounds play for Butler. Douglas second personal that is
two as for Wisconsin as a team. Four fifty five
to go. Wisconsin down by three, and again Manna Man
defense for the Badgers. McGuff now for Butler, bounce pass

(01:24:43):
to mcleskey. McGuff fakes a three, goes back outside mclelesky
three pointer left of the circle to strong rebound Wisconsin's
Carter McCrae. All right, the Badgers down by three. Four
forty four to go. Ronnie Porter, the Badgers backs it
out high in the left. Wisconsin could tie or get
it within one order for the Badgers. Williams on the

(01:25:05):
left side gives her a screen. Porter gonna back it
back outside and now goes there. Sarah Williams turnaround, Jay, Oh,
pretty shot. Sarah Williams has got it. Thirty one points,
ties her career high, the fourth time in her career
she's hit thirty one. Wisconsin's within one. Four oh seven
to go, Sarah Williams almost stealing away that one at

(01:25:27):
the top of the arc. They stick with it though
Butler twelve to shoot. McGuff comes inside the circle, back
out on the right side to James now Jeans backing down.
Douglas down low, high off the glass, and she made it.
Jans seven points, spent a quiet seven points tonight. Her
defense and rebounding had been important. She's got seven rebounds,

(01:25:48):
fifty three point fifty Butler three thirty eight left in regulation,
right side three pointer Douglas to tie, missed it too
strong rebound comes down to Butler Douglas first miss of
this game, first three pointers. She's taken three twenty four
to go. Wisconsin down fifty three to fifty in Indianapolis
against Butler ssconsin trying to improve to nine and two,

(01:26:10):
their best start in a decade and a half. Top
of the wheel for Jans. Now, she's gonna drive hard,
goes up, locked away by Sarah Williams. Has get that
out of here. Sarah Williams literally doing it all tonight.
That'll put ten in the shot clock for Butler. Wisconsin
still within three, three eleven to go. Sarah Williams thirty

(01:26:31):
one points, eleven of twenty two from the field, nine
of ten shooting free throws, ten rebounds, two assists in
thirty two minutes. Got the double double and hoping she
gets more than thirty one, that'll break a career high.
And she has been most of the scoring here for
Wisconsin to night inbounds pass stolen away. Here's Carter McCrae
two on one for the Badgers. Oh, she loses it

(01:26:52):
down low, regains, goes up, misses that one, comes off
to the near sideline, saved by Butler, and that looked
like it was gonna be an easy lay up and
a chance to get it within one. Wisconsin could not
convert and they still trail fifty three to fifty two.
Fifty left in quarter number four. McGuff now off to mcileski,

(01:27:13):
so'll come into the free throw line. Spashofskin into the
game for Wisconsin. Defensively, Now they'll swing it around on
the left side. Here's Zeinstra back door pass. That was
a good one. Missed it though down low. That's mcilesky
claps her hands in frustration. The Badgers have got it
down by three, two twenty six remaining. Here's Ronnie Porter
for the Badgers. Cray gives her a screen, got Douglas

(01:27:37):
on the floor, light Singer and Spashovski for Wisconsin. Plenty
of time in the shot clock. Here Coach Mosley calling
out what she wants Ronnie Porter to do twelve to
shoot here for Wisconsin. Porter gonna move it off to
the right elbow. Now spashofski hih on the left side
between the circles Douglas. Here's McCray four to shoot. McCrae
spin move now backs up shoots it missed, it left
short rebound to Douglas. Wisconsin a fresh twenty on the

(01:27:59):
sh shot clock. Then Lightsinger throws up a three hits
it left of the circle. We are tied fifty three
fifty three, one fifty one to go. I gotta say
when Lightsinger released that shot, has not had a bucket
in this game. You held your breath with that much
time on the shot clock. But she evens it at
fifty three. Now down load, there's Janes hangs foul on McCray.

(01:28:23):
Two free throws upcoming for Janes of Butler. What a
game here, one thirty seven to go, fifty three fifty
three yr score Janes to the free throw line. She'll
have two foul on McCray her fourth personal Porter has three,

(01:28:46):
as does Jimenez, and that is three team fouls on
the Badgers. Jane's first free throw she got it fifty
four fifty three Butler one, thirty seven to go. It's
the second one here, pauses, shoots, swirled around and goes in.

(01:29:07):
Made them both fifty five to fifty three. Butler one
a thirty five to go. Wisconsin ten of twenty for
free throws tonight, Butler eight of thirteen ninety seconds remaining
in regulation. Wisconsin down fifty five to fifty three. With
the basketball lightsinger for the Badgers high on the left side,
there's Douglas in left corner. Douglas bounce past down low.
There's Sarah Williams. She's got thirty one tonight. They'll double

(01:29:29):
team her. Throws it. Oh threw it away. Wigans stole
it away. She tried to skip fast cross court and
Wiggins read it and took it away. And now into
the four court comes Butler. One six to go. Wisconsin
down fifty five to fifty three. Butler gonna take some
time off the clock. Now fifteen seconds in the shot clock.
They'll now work it offensively. Jane's top of the circle.

(01:29:52):
Nine to shoot. Here's McGuff looking to go back door,
misses it. Oh off of the foot of boy. I
thought that was off Wiggins of Butler. They'll say it's
off of Douglas and the referees. I think you're going
to go to the scores table and review this. Douglas
was emphatic that that was off of Wiggins. Wiggins didn't
argue the case very much, so you're thinking maybe that

(01:30:13):
bodes well here. Butler has not scored a field goal
in the last three minutes. Sconsin outscoring Butler sixteen to
eleven in the third and just plus two in this fourth.
They're going to go to the monitor and this is
obviously a massive call. Looked like it was off Butler.
It would give Wisconsin possession. Referee said it was off

(01:30:35):
of Wisconsin. Those so you need that indisputable video evidence.
Two referees will go take a look at this. One
referee'll hold the ball behind them and gives both coaches
kind of an opportunity to work at like a timeout.
Both coaches with their whiteboards out drawing things up for
the players. Fifty five to fifty three, Butler with the
two point lead, forty nine seconds to go. Possession right now, Butler,

(01:30:58):
but that looked like it was off of of Wiggins.
I'm gonna give us a replay here on the big
board so we can watch this back. It's not going
to be the greatest angle of this. I thought the
fact that Douglas so emphatically said that was not off me,
and you saw Wiggins kind of sheepishly walk off to
the sidelines, I think that might be your example of

(01:31:22):
Douglas knew it and Wiggins maybe knew it too. Referees
taking a long look at this. I think the longer
they look at it, the more they might be overturning this.
Both coaches have said their piece to their players. Referees

(01:31:42):
still looking at this here. How many times can you
review it looking at the same thing. Here's a much
better under the basket. Looking at that rolled off the
left knee of Wiggins, this should be Wisconsin bast based
on what we see here, and you can tell too, Boy,

(01:32:05):
it's close. You look at it again and it's really
really close. You'd almost have to slow it down and
zoom it in. Referees are are still looking at the
review here. Normally you'd feel like, if you can't see it,

(01:32:27):
you got to stick with the call. But right now
the call is Butler basketball. So take as long as
you need to see what you need to see to
give Wiscon's in the ball, all right. Referees now taking
a step back from the monitor. Well we have our
call here. Fans waiting patiently again. Two point lead right

(01:32:54):
now for Butler. How the referee step back to the
video monitor. It could be off the knee of Wiggins
or maybe the shoe. Referees now walk and they point

(01:33:14):
in both directions, and they're gonna say, I believe Wisconsin basketball.
I believe they're going to say Wisconsin basketball here. So yeah,
they show turnover Butler, Wisconsin ball. And now the Badgers

(01:33:35):
will take a full media timeout. So Wisconsin will take
a full media timeout here or just a full time out.
I should say not amedia timeout, to take a full timeout,
and I believe Wisconsin will have the basketball. So fifty
five fifty three, Butler with the lead, Wisconsin takes a timeout,

(01:33:55):
they'll have one remaining. Butler has two timeouts remaining in
Wisconsin a chance to tie or take the lead here.
Such an interesting time for Wisconsin because you started off
your Big Ten schedule on Sunday, had yourself a really
exciting finish, more exciting than coach Moseley would have won it.

(01:34:16):
But you held off Rutgers sixty six to sixty four.
Then you've got final exams players studying for that, you
go play a non conference game. You've got to go
to Indianapolis to do it. And now for Wisconsin, they'll
have the rest of this week off and their next
game is not until next Friday, December twentieth. They will
host Albany at the Cole Center and then that will

(01:34:39):
do it for Wisconsin's non conference slates. But these are
always interesting times for these coaches because academics, especially at
the UW very important. Trying to get them though, to
focus up when it comes to these moments where it's tough,
can be mentally fatigue from studying. You got a non
conference game, you were excited about your Big ten win,

(01:35:00):
but you've got to focus and as coach Moseley said,
just give me forty minutes in this game with everything
you've got. So it is Wisconsin basketball coming out of
the timeout. Wisconsin down fifty three to fifty or fifty
five to fifty three, there's forty five seconds to go.
Wisconsin starts their offense, the Badgers down by two forty
seconds to go. Ronnie Porter, the Badgers right of the circle,

(01:35:22):
tries to go inside to Williams. Oh bad pass taken
away by Butler. Wiggins grabbed it, thought maybe they could
have called Williams for or Williams got fouled. No in
the backcourt. Now Wisconsin fowls and coach Moseley shaking her
head as that was not what she drew up in
that timeout, looks back at her assistant coaches. Fifty five

(01:35:42):
to fifty three Butler, Wisconsin turns it over from Porter,
trying to get it to Williams. Now we'll have a
timeout called by Butler's a thirty second timeout. Again, Butler
has no field goals in the last three to twenty one.
Wisconsin though not my much better, And now Butler's going
to take their second to last time out, so each

(01:36:04):
team one time out remaining. Wisconsin has fourteen fouls, so
Butler in the bonus. Make it five now, So Butler
in the bonus or no fourteen fouls right now, So
Wisconsin will have to foul one more and then force
the bonus. Twenty nine point eight remaining, so shot clock

(01:36:26):
is turned off and Wisconsin will have to either steal
this inbound or they'll have to foul to stop it.
So Wisconsin fourteen fouls one. Morall put Butler in the bonus,
and then you got to hope Butler misses their free throws.
Free throws for the game. Butler is eight to fifteen,
so it hasn't been guaranteed by any means. They get
it in easily light, Singer will follow right away, stops

(01:36:49):
it at twenty eight point four, and now it comes
down to free throws. Sconsin down fifty five, fifty three,
twenty eight point four to go, and McGuff toes the
free throw line, and we're hoping she misses both. Even
if she could miss one of these though, free throw
up and missed it all right, so even if she

(01:37:11):
makes this, it would be a three point deficit. We'll
see if she misses them both. Ssconsin down by two
second free throw. She missed that one. Rebound comes into
Myers in Wisconsin, two point deficit, twenty four seconds to go. Inside,
they're Sarah Williams for the Badgers, backing now to defender James.
She tries to spin move, goes up, got it in.
There's a career high for Williams, thirty three points. We

(01:37:33):
are tied at fifty five with seventeen point three to go,
and a timeout is called timeout Butler that is their
final timeout, a full timeout, and Sarah Williams thirty three points,
her career high, twelve of twenty three from the field,
nine to ten at the free throw line, ten rebounds

(01:37:53):
in thirty three minutes, and Wisconsin has come all the
way back, tied it at fifty five fifty five. It's
seventeen point three to go. What a game by Sarah Williams,
best of her career and really in a night where
Wisconsin needed it as bad as any night Sarah Williams

(01:38:13):
has ever played in. I mean, you have Carter McCrae
with seven points. She is your second leading scorer for
the Badgers. Sarah Williams thirty three, Carter McCrae seven, Douglas six,
Porter six, Lightsinger with three. Test Myers is zero for
five from the field, Porters three of seven, Lightsinger is
one of four. This has been a night where Sarah

(01:38:36):
Williams has had to come in and dominate just for
her team to be in it. Coach Mosey looking up
at the big board, here fifty five fifty five, seventeen
point three to go. So shot clock turned off. You've
got a play. Defense. Don't fowl because again Butler would
be in the bonus the rest of the way. Don't foul,

(01:38:59):
force a miss, trying to get singed. Overtime. Fifty five
to fifty five, seventeen point three to go, butlerd inbound.
Here we go either they make this or we go
to overtime. Thirteen seconds, Wiggins just over the half court line.
Nine seconds, just rocking the dribble here, seven seconds, Porter

(01:39:21):
giving her space. Five seconds now Wiggins moves four seconds.
Wiggins gets a little bumped, goes up lost, it goes
out of bounds. Offensive foul called on Wiggins. One point
one to go. Badger basketball fifty five fifty five to score,
and Wisconsin will take a thirty second time out, their
final timeout. With one point one remaining in the game.

(01:39:44):
Great defense by Wisconsin. Wiggins, very athletic player drives in,
Wisconsin stands their ground. Wiggins bull goes into the defense,
and Wisconsin tied at fifty five with Butler with one
point one to go, Wisconsin uses their five time out.
Wiggins had gotten a round Porter, but who else. Natalie

(01:40:04):
Leitsinger steps in, takes that foul, and Wisconsin with one
point one remaining, they have a chance to hoist up
and win this thing. I gotta say too risky by
Lightsinger though with bonus shots there. She comes over to help,
and I mean that would have been free throws for

(01:40:24):
Wiggins to win it had that not been an offensive call.
But Lightsinger at this point graduate student knows what she's
doing and she goes there, takes the chance, and it
pays off. Here Wisconsin one point one remaining tie to
fifty five. Wisconsin does advance the basketball with that final timeout,
So Wisconsin near sideline in the forecourt, they will have

(01:40:45):
a chance to get this off. One point one is
enough time to get your shot off. Here's Douglas first option.
Not there, goes to Williams. This for the win. Sarah
Williams missed it, left it short, and we go to overtime.
Fifty five. I have at fifty five Wisconsin and Butler
overtime coming up next. They'll put five minutes on the board.

(01:41:07):
We'll take another break, come back with ot After this,
you're listening to Badger basketball from lear Field. Fifty five
to fifty five the scores. We head into overtime. Wisconsin
in Indianapolis, Indiana taking on Butler. Wisconsin outscores Butler sixteen
to eleven and the third and fifteen to eleven in
the fourth. Get this thing tied fifty five all five

(01:41:28):
minute overtime upcoming. Sarah Williams thirty three points for the Badgers.
She had scored thirty one to three different times in
her career, new career high tonight twelve to twenty four
from the field, and other than that it has been
single digit scoring by Wisconsin. But Sarah Williams of the
fifty five points, she has thirty three, and Wisconsin gets

(01:41:48):
this thing into overtime. Now. Foul trouble always something that
you keep an eye on when you get into an
overtime situation. Right now for the Badgers, McCrae has four
personal fouls, three personal fouls by Porter Jimenez also with
three on the other side for personal fouls, three for
Jans and Norman. Other than that, nobody has four. So

(01:42:10):
you keep an eye on Carter McCrae. Five minutes up
on the board and here we go. Players on the
floor for Wisconsin Lightsinger Williams. You'll have Porter Douglas in
the game and Carter McCrae fifty five to fifty five,
five minutes up on the board, jump ball at center,
Sarah Williams and Jeans will do it. Toss and tap

(01:42:32):
controlled by Wisconsin. Here we go for overtime. Fifty five
to fifty five the score. Here's Ronnie Porter the Badgers
between the circles. Wisconsin moving to our rights. Ssconsin drank
it their first true road win of the season. Three
pointer by Lightsinger missed it, but a rebound Carter McCrae.
Wisconsin gets a possession here extra. Here's Carter McCrae down low,

(01:42:53):
goes up and under turn around. Got it. McCrae fighting
through bodies, arms, everything, we owel called, but gets it
to go. Thirty seconds into the five minute overtime. Sconson
with their first lead since early in this game. They've
got a fifty seven to fifty five advantage. Jane's hands
it off to McGuff. She'll drive towards the paints. Nothing

(01:43:13):
there goes back outside three point or Carbony too strong
missed it, long rebound, last touch by Carter McCrae. This
will stay with Butler and they'll have a reset of
the shot clock. Two point lead for the Badgers in overtime,
four fourteen remaining in ot Here's Wiggins now between the

(01:43:33):
circles for Butler, off to Jans left of the circle,
hands it off to Carmody. They'll swing it around back
to Wiggins on the right side, porter giving her some room.
Seven seconds in the shot clock. McGuff now moves inside
the circle at the free throw line. Three seconds. They'll
go back into Jane's turnaround, throws it up, misses it
too strong rebound porter Ssconson gets a bucket and now
a stop fifty seven fifty five three forty seven left

(01:43:56):
in ot Ronnie Porter for Wisconsin on the right side.
Pull it back to the top of the wheel for Douglas.
Now they go Carter McCrae left block Williams left of
the circle. Going to pass up that three wise decision,
plenty of time on the shot clock. Tend to shoot.
Here's porter for the Badgers, comes right elbow fifteen foot
or air ball the boys. She might have gotten that
one tipped saved by Williams and no foot was on

(01:44:19):
the line. So saved by Williams, but foot was on
the line. So it will go to Butler. Fifty seven
to fifty five Wisconsin with the lead, three twenty five
left and o t Each team gets a time out
in this sober time Mcleski down to James, goes up

(01:44:40):
against Williams, hangs foul missed its to free throws upcoming
for Sidney James. Three thirteen left in ot Wisconsin the
two point lead. A pair of free throws here for James.
Jane's two for two with the free throw line in
this game. Sarah Williams, her third personal free throw is

(01:45:06):
in for James. Second free throw for James up and hit.
Them both tied at fifty seven, three point thirteen left
in overtime number one. Here's Ronnie Porter for the Badgers.
Moves into the fore court. Porter high on the left side.
Wiggan's giving her some room left the baseline. Here, Sarah Williams,

(01:45:31):
not backing down her defender, hands it back to Porter
left corner. She's gonna try and dry it gets cut
off now, tosses it in dangerous couldn't get it to
Carter McCrae. Stolen away bad bastard by Ronnie Porter. She's
got a three and a half assistant turnover ratio coming
into this game. But I was not a wise decision,
she said, a couple of those she's forced in this game.
Still tied at fifty seven, two forty left in overtime,

(01:45:53):
Butler back with a basketball back outside to mcilesky. Now
going to James. She's got the hot hand going up
against McCrae's got four personal. Got to be careful. Nothing
called there misses it. Rebound comes down to the Badgers, and
Williams can tell James wants McCray with those four personal.
Carter McCrae can't be overly aggressive standing strong with that

(01:46:13):
defense though, and not bowling back to the Badgers. Still
tie to fifty seven, two thirteen left in overtime. McCrae
now a touch to Douglas inside the circle, back outside
Sarah Williams down low, there's McCrae and a back down.
Her defender goes up foul. Carter McCrae going to the
free throw line for two. Mcgileski thought she had all ball.

(01:46:33):
I have to say love that they called it honor,
but I agree that seemed like she had a lot
of ball there. Maybe caught wrist initially, and this will
be two free throws upcoming for Carter McCrae. First Team
foul on Butler. This overtime, mcileski, your second personal free
throw rattles home for Carter McCrae. Cray at the free

(01:46:54):
throw line and a bit of an adventure this year.
Got the fifty eight to fifty seven the lead now
for the Badgers. This to the two point advantage, and
it hits the front of the rim, missed it right side,
and then a foul on the rebound attempt on which team,
oh on Butler, Wisconsin clapping. That was Jans who got
called for the foul. And that is where Sarah Williams

(01:47:15):
just affects the game so much, because you've got two
Butler players down there when you're shooting your free throws.
She splits the bolt and forces the foul. So this
is going to put Carter McCrae back at the free
throw line. And I'm thinking what they called maybe Jeans
was a little early, and yes they are. They're going

(01:47:37):
to give her another chance, and she hits that free throw.
That's what the deal was. Jans was early again forced
by Williams, so you get to redo the free throw
second time it goes and fifty nine to fifty seven, Wisconsin,
two point lead. One to fifty four left in the
first overtime. Skip past the Jeans on the right side,
sconsin and a man defense of the whole game. Got

(01:47:58):
to get your stops here. Wiggins top of the circle,
gets past Porter, feeds it inside the Jane. She'll get
double team, she'll get triple teams, she'll get quadruple team.
She fights it through to Wiggins and they'll reset. Four
seconds in the shot clock. Now Krmody gonna go down low.

Speaker 2 (01:48:11):
Ooh.

Speaker 1 (01:48:11):
They stepped up to try and help out on Carmody.
That left James all alone, and Jane's able to put
in the easy deuce on the left side, and it's
tied back at fifty nine to fifty nine one at
thirty one left in overtime. We'll have a whistle and
we have a team call a timeout. Yeah, you had
Williams step up there to try and help out with Carmody,

(01:48:33):
who brokes on that leans all alone. We've got a
time out on the floor. They did not signal which
team it is. Referees going to step forward and we'll
call this. We will keep it here. Fifty nine fifty nine.

(01:49:03):
Your score if you are late in joining against thirty
three points career high Marta McCrae. Now up to eleven,
Wisconsin has shot forty three point fifty eight three pointers
are Wisconsin been a rough tonight one of nine. Tess
Meyers their three point sharpshooter zero for five this evening.
Ssconsin won for nine as a team for Butler seven

(01:49:24):
to twenty four free throws also for the Badgers twelve
to twenty two. They've really in these first ten games
been excellent shooting those free throws tonight just fifty five percent,
thankfully Butler ten to seventeen, they're just fifty nine percent,
so not much better. Turnovers sixteen called on Butler, twelve
called on Wisconsin. Wisconsin twelve points off turnovers, the Butler seven,

(01:49:46):
and the rebounds almost dead even thirty five thirty four
plus one advantage for Butler, but plus three in the
offensive side. Sconsin's had nine steals in this game, Butler's
had eight ssconsin three blocks. Butler hasn't had any no
signal for that first time out. This is a timeout
on the floor, so not costing either team their time out.

(01:50:08):
Each team is still with their one overtime timeout, tie
to fifty nine ninety one cents left in overtime. Players
come back down on the floor now so be Wisconsin's
ball will go the length of the floor offensively to
our right. Tie to fifty nine one twenty seven left
and ot Ronnie Porter for the Badgers comes back up

(01:50:30):
top of the circle. There's Douglas off to Lightsinger. Three
pointer left side, Natalie Lightsinger missed it, short rebound, long
rebound comes back to Lightsinger. Wisconsin retains possession all right,
fifty nine to fifty nine, one ten left and overtime
order for the Badgers on that bulldog logo spins now
with nine to shoots, comes high on the right side.
Six to shoot. Porter gets a Williams screen left handed

(01:50:53):
baseball pass over to Lightsinger. Two seconds Badgers got to
get a shot up. There's Douglas, it'll counterfeit. Gos left
it flat, missed it. Rebound comes down to Butler, still
tied to fifty nine, fifty seconds remaining in the first overtime.
Butler now trying to take their first lead of ot
Between the circles. Here's Mcileski thirty eight seconds left in overtime,

(01:51:16):
fifteen seconds remaining on the Butler shot clock, top of
the wheel, mcileski left of the circle, gonna drive down
left of the paint, goes back outside to James. Now
they'll drive with four seconds with soul. And is that
a foul called on Lightsinger of Wisconsin, Yes, it is.
Natalie Leitzinger picks up the foul off the drive, third

(01:51:37):
personal for her to tears. Two free throws for Carmody,
Lily Carmody, a freshman from Australia, aways from home, and
she's got two free throws here, fifty nine to fifty nine,
two free throws for Butler, twenty seven point nine to go.

(01:51:58):
First free throw up and she missed it. Gonna have
the second free throw upcoming, and we will have a
whistle and a thirty second timeout, so she'll have one
more free throw upcoming. And that was Wisconsin's thirty second

(01:52:25):
time out. So the Badgers use their one time out
of overtime. Butler still has their one fifty nine to
fifty nine, twenty seven seconds exactly left in ot. It's
it's really not over dramatic to say that these are
just these games that you feel like for coach Moseley,
it's just they can be a little program defining he

(01:52:47):
got just one game on a Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
But coach Mosley went on, I've talked to her, whether
it's at a dinner or on a plane or sitting somewhere,
which she just says, we've got to win these closed
games where if you're right there, you got to make
the plays when they really count. And they just practice

(01:53:08):
these scenarios over and over and over again. She said,
if we're going to be the program that we know
we can beat, these are your moments. So Wisconsin inbound here.
So the Badger's fifty nine Wiggins as they had it
to quarter, twenty four seconds to go, shot clock turned off.
Sconsin getting ready to play for the last shot. Here
Wiggins with a each in foul. That's just the second
team foul on Butler. So Wisconsin inbounded here again, they

(01:53:32):
can play for the last shot. They go inside to
Williams back outside the lightsing her twenty one seconds to go.
Sconsin will wait and try and take the last shot
of the first overtime. Ronnie Porter now fifteen seconds Porter high.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:53:45):
She traveled with it. Williams got the basket to go,
and she traveled with it with five point two remaining.
She shakes her head and Butler is going to take
the time out. Oh my goodness, had it exactly who
you wanted it. Williams got to do her move. Referee
say she traveled with it. Boy, I thought Wisconsin had

(01:54:11):
the sixty one to fifty nine advantage. Referee say, no
travel with five point two remaining, Butler will have a
chance to win it in overtime. Got it down, James
and yep, as we watched the replay, Williams made that
move and just that little hop. She made the move

(01:54:31):
off her pivot foot and then she hopped with it.
That's a good call. It's it's it's quick, it's very
very you know it. It's just that slight, little hot
But it is the right move the letter of the law.
And five point two. This timeout does advance it into
the forecourt and here we go. Wisconsin got to get

(01:54:52):
a stop, try and get to the second overtime. Butler
their chance to win it. No, tea with five point two,
get it into Carmody, hand it off to Wiggins forced.
Carmody goes up, loses it underneath the basket. One point
four and what a travel or was that a foul?
That was a travel on Carmody And with one point
four to go, Wisconsin gets the ball back. Now the

(01:55:12):
Badgers are out of time out, so they cannot advance
it one point four and Wisconsin's gonna have to get
it in and then try the half court heave. Where
are they gonna put this on the inbounce on the baseline? Yes,
it is gonna be on the baseline, So try and
get a player running, and then they're gonna throw up
the half court shot and see if you can get
a walk off one point four, get it into porters.

(01:55:34):
She's gonna have to hoist this up. It will not count.
And it was well short anyway, and that is it
for the first overtime. Fifty nine to fifty nine. We
go to overtime number two. Wisconsin and Butler tied at
fifty nine. Overtime number two upcoming. Let's take another break.
This is badge of basketball from lear Field. All right,

(01:55:55):
one overtime not enough to decide a winner. We'll go
to overtime number two. Five more minute. It's on the board.
Fifty nine to fifty nine, Wisconsin in Indianapolis taking on
Butler and each team only scoring four points in that
five minute overtime. So fifty nine to fifty nine all,
and we'll do a second overtime. As the Badgers had

(01:56:17):
Sarah Williams down low there at the end, and she
made her move and she made the basket. Trouble was
she traveled with it. Carmody then coming on the other
side for she made her move, she traveled with it.
And so here we go to overtime number two. First
overtime game four Wisconsin of the season, and with always

(01:56:38):
a big ten slate, that is difficult. You sure want
to win these games, but testing your team on the
road is not the worst thing for the Badgers, especially
if you can get the victory. So we go to
the center circle again, another toss one by Wisconsin, Sarah
Williams and the Badgers will again be on offense, going

(01:56:58):
to our rights in over number two, fifty nine all
Lightsinger on the floor with Douglas Carter McCrae still playing
with those four personal fouls. Douglas trying to get it
inside to Williams, couldn't do it. Swing pass on the
right side, Porter passes up a three inside there's McCrae
goes up missed it, but she got fouled into free
throws for Carter McCrae follow called on Jane's of Butler.

(01:57:22):
That is her fourth two free throws for Carter McCrae.
McCrae three of six in this game at the free
throw line, none bigger than these two. First one up
and good. Sixty to fifty nine Wisconsin. McCrae spins it

(01:57:45):
in her hands, two dribbles, second one up and she
got it. Sixty one fifty nine Wisconsin leads four and
a half to go in overtime number mcilesky, top of
the wheel for Butler. Wiggins download to James playing with
those four personal fouls backing down, Williams goes up, goes strong,

(01:58:05):
missed it rebound coming in. That's going to be Butler
with the board and a fresh twenty on the shot
clock for Butler. Here's Wiggins comes in, goes outside. Mcleski
three point a right side left it short, an other
offensive rebound Butler no jump ball possession air row. We'll
stay with Butler. Sixty one to fifty nine Wisconsin. Butler

(01:58:27):
keeps the possession off the arrow seconds in two the
second five minute overtime here's mcilesky. Now for Wiggins. Top
of the wheel, go back outside, no stolen away inside,
try to get it inside to James Williams read it beautifully.
The Badgers get to steal sixty one to fifty nine.
They lead under four to go in the overtime. We'll
see if Wisconsin get a little insurance. Here quarter now

(01:58:51):
between the circles overhead pass, there's a light singer down low.
Sarah Williams turn around, jumper fifteen foot or boy halfway down.
It pops out and this will go Who butler is?
It skips off on the baseline. A great thought. She
saved it for Wisconsin. They say, foot on the line. Well,
it's impressive. I mean, William's career high thirty three points,
but she's had two or three of those where they're

(01:59:11):
halfway down. Somehow they go out, stays at a two
point lead for Wisconsin. Three thirty six left in the
second ot. Now driving inside the paint, Carmody gonna pass
it back out to Wiggins. Inside the circle flips a
two mcleski on the left side. Carmody would tend to shoot,
gonna go down kicked off the foot of Hallie Douglas

(01:59:33):
of Wisconsin, and that will stay with Butler, and we'll
set things up for the inbounds. Allie Douglas plays some
big minutes off the bench, one of her best games
of the young season. Just six points but five rebounds,
and she's made hustle plays defensively. Sixty one to fifty
nine Wisconsin, three twenty left in the second overtime. Butler

(01:59:54):
with the ball down to James with four personal fouls,
trying to go up against Williams, going to back her
down inside the paint, turn around up and under goes
swatted away. Williams knows what she's gonna do. That's it
out of bounds, seven seconds on the shot clock. It'll
stay with Butler. This is really where the scouting report is.
Just you can tell how seriously Williams takes it all
around player. She just knows what Jane's moves are gonna

(02:00:16):
be and puts up a fight every time. Six to shoot,
here's gonna be. McGuff goes in, wildly missed it. Did
she get fouled? She is the one who had the
offensive foul. McGuff the one with a foul as she
came in. As I said, it was wild throwing arms
all over. McGuff called for the offensive foul. That's her
third ends back to the Badgers with the ball. Sixty

(02:00:39):
one to fifty nine, Wisconsin, three to go in the
second overtime. Ronnie Porter for the Badgers, down to Sarah Williams.
Williams gets double team, toss it back outside. Lightsing your
three point right side, and she splashes it. Natalie Lightsinger
hits the three sixty four fifty nine Wisconsin two forty
two left in the second overtime. Lightsinger doing it defensively.

(02:01:02):
Now some offense in this sec Wisconsin two thirty three
left in the second overtime. Wiggins now with the free
throw line, little stutter step, picked up her dribble and
go back outside. Carmody gonna drive. She'll pop it back
out to Wiggins six to shoot. Wiggins flips it up,
misses that grabs her own rebound. She Sky's four, hands
it off Mculesky down low and she cleans it up

(02:01:22):
off the glass and it counts. Sixty four to sixty one.
Wisconsin's lead trim to three two ten left in the
second overtime. Remember, each team gets a time out per overtime.
So they still each team with their one. Here's Porter
for the Badgers, two minutes left in the second overtime.
Scott's in the three point advantage. Now for the Badgers,

(02:01:43):
Lightsinger left of the lane, back outside, top of the
circle for Williams. Williams comes back to Porter right of
the circle, gets a screen from Porter, gets a screen
from Williams. They'll go back outside. Lightsinger five to shoot
left elbow sixteen. Butter rattles o back to back buckets
for Natalie Laider. The bench explodes in celebration. Lightsing are
the big smile. Sixty six sixty one Wisconsin one thirty

(02:02:06):
one left in overtime. Number two Lightsinger a three and
that two Sisconsin the five point lead. Now gotta bear
down defensively. There's mcilesky flies in off the glass high.
It's another one to go. Boy. Mcilesky thirteen points in
this game. She's a player that averages about eight and
a half per contest. And we'll have a timeout call.

(02:02:27):
This is going to be called by Butler, so they'll
use their timeout. Sixty six sixty three Wisconsin one twenty
one left in the second overtime, and Butler uses their
one and only timeout of this second o T boy
for Wisconsin, this is just one of those wins that

(02:02:47):
it's not just a non conference win. It's against a
Butler team that's nine to two. It's a Big East team,
a team that you lost to last year at the
Cole Center, a team with depth, and this would really
be something for Wisconsin, not just the record and best
start in fifteen years and all that. But Coach Mosley said,
if you missed our pregame conversation, she said that in

(02:03:09):
these moments, we're trying to show our players it's not
a fluke. You guys can do this. And I followed
up by asking her, are you seeing in these huddles,
like the huddle in there right that they're in right now,
are you seeing the look on their faces different than
the last few years? And Coach Mosley said, yes, they
do look different. These players are nodding their heads, they're clapping,
They've got some confidence to them. And it's moments like

(02:03:30):
this where you build that confidence. Because she says much
as we talk about it, as much as we focus
on it the offseason and mental toughness and all that,
she says, when you do it in the games. That's
when you really start believing in yourself. Sixty six sixty
three Wisconsin. If you're also just joining us, Caroline Strandy,

(02:03:51):
they're leading score at fifteen points per game. She's we're
seeing Wisconsin native for Butler. She left this game in
the first half with an ankle injury, and she has
just spent sitting at the end of the bench with
her ankle elevated her right ankle, big tape job with
a big ice pack, and it is moments like this
where Butler leans on her and they have not had
her in the second half of these overtimes. One twenty

(02:04:13):
one left in the second overtime, sixty six sixty three
Wisconsin Badger basketball. Butler's timeout has been used. Wisconsin still
retains their one. Referees give the Badgers the signal here
to clear up their bench. All hands in a fist
come up together. They break down the huddle. Here we
go for the Badger's length of the floor. Sconsin seven

(02:04:37):
to three scoring advantage. In the second overtime, sconsin with
a three point advantage, one twenty one to go. Referee
holding the ball, Allie Douglass will come to inbound. She
can run the sideline should she need to. Butler gonna
set up with some token full court pressure here. Got
to be tired at this point though. For the full
court press. Here's Ronnie Porter for the Badgers, singer Williams

(02:05:00):
and also Test Meyers back in the game. Here Porter
between the circles for Wisconsin. One oh eight left in
the second o t three point advantage for Wisconsin. Sarah
Williams high on that right side, gets it back to
Porter nine to shoot for Wisconsin. Order looking for a
Williams screen. She gets it now, Porter goes back outside,
Douglas back inside Williams, turn around off the glass. She

(02:05:22):
got it, Sarah Williams. Thirty five points, sixty eight sixty
three Wisconsin. Fifty seconds left in the second overtime, Wisconsin
the five point lead. Here's Williams for Butler on the
left side, looking for options in front. Wiggins comes into
the circle, little nonchalant here, bounce it off the leg
of a Badger comes back to her. Now, Carmody Gonna
drive in zigzags through, missed it fowl though called on Williams.

(02:05:49):
All right, Sarah Williams. That gets her up to four
personal fouls. Fowls really start to become an issue. You
get this deepened overtime. Two free throws coming up for Carmody,
sixty eight to sixty three Wisconsin, thirty five point one
left in the second o t free throws have not
been guaranteed for either team. Carmody gets two here, first

(02:06:14):
of two up and she makes it. Sixty eight to
sixty four, Wisconsin four point lead. Thirty five point one
second free throw for Carmody. A Butler, This one rattles
halfway down, pops out, missed the second lead, stays at
four for Wisconsin. Thirty seconds to go. Now a full
court press here, Oh Ronnie Porter throws it dangerously. William's

(02:06:37):
able to bail her out. Williams comes up the floor,
reach in foul for Butler. That's going to be their
third team foul. Sconsin to inbound twenty five point three
to go, Wisconsin up by four. Boy Ronnie Porter. This
has been very uncharacteristic of her. Been so clean this
season that times she throws it up. Coach Moseley comes
over to her or calls her over to the sideline,

(02:06:58):
and you can tell Coach Mosly trying to make her
points not being too aggressive, Ronnie knows it. First free
throw for Williams, she hits it, Sarah Williams sixty nine,
sixty four, five point lead for Wisconsin's second free throw.
Sarah Williams up and she missed that one. Five point

(02:07:18):
lead for Wisconsin. Twenty three seconds to go. In the
second overtime, Wiggins comes up the floor, five point lead
for the Badgers's mc Aleski gives it off, Zinstra pops
it back out Wiggins thirteen seconds to go, three point
or this is for Butler. Schwortz rebound, Poke dot A
bounds and it is possession Wisconsin. I believe, yes, it'll

(02:07:40):
be Wisconsin ball sixty nine to sixty four, Wisconsin eight
point two to go. Wisconsin will I believe take their
time out. It looks like yes they will, and the
Badgers are in the driver's seat sixty nine to sixty four,
they lead, eight point two to go. Referees maybe looking
at the review monitor to see if this was actually
out on butt so this will not be Wisconsin using

(02:08:02):
their time out. Instead, they will go to the monitor
and make sure that this was out on Butler. Still
a five point lead for Wisconsin. With eight point two
to go. Well, I don't want to get ahead of
myself here, but you can tell these players starting to
feel a little bit. Coach Mosey with the marker out,
drawing some things up, giving them multiple scenarios. Referees looking

(02:08:24):
here at the review. This was called Badger basketball. Coming
up during the post game, we'll hopefully get a chance
to talk with the Badgers head coach Marissa Mosley. All
the stats, the individual numbers, career nights. However, this goes
by Sarah Williams, and we'll look ahead to what's next
for the Badgers. Eight point two seconds away from a

(02:08:47):
nine to two start. How to finish this thing off? Though?
Right now, huge call right now, possession of Wisconsin. Referees
reviewing it to make sure it was off of Butler.
There's a big call in this game. Again. You have
to see it without a doubt as to who this

(02:09:09):
is going to be and to overturn, it's got to
be without a doubt off on Wisconsin and it is
Wisconsin ball. YEP. Referee says Wisconsin Basketball. Eight point six
left in the second overtime, sixty nine sixty four the Badgers.
So you get the inbounds and you make your free throws.

(02:09:34):
Sconsin now, knowing it's their ball, they will use their
one timeout, so thirty second timeout. Continue to keep it here.
Sconsin outscoring Butler ten to five in this second overtime,

(02:09:55):
and you know you get to this point, it's a
war of attrition. I mean not just in your personnel,
but mental fatigue, physical fatigue, and a Butler team that
really prides themselves on depth, Wisconsin has been able to
hold their own here. Sixty nine sixty four. Wisconsin inbounded
in the four court off the time out eight point
six left in the second overtime. Get it in. There's Lightsinger.
She will get fouled a little hard there. She kind

(02:10:16):
of rips away from mcleski to love that. But here's
see you get for Wisconsin as you've got Natalie Leitzinger
who is going to tow the free throw line and
a chance to try and seal this thing for Wisconsin.
Badger's up by five with seven point three to go,

(02:10:36):
first free throw, Lightsinger calmly a swish, seventy to sixty
four of the Badgers. Wow. Last road overtime win for
the Badgers, sixty three fifty nine at Wyoming Christmas of
two thousand and ten. Second free throw made and now
it's just time to run it out. Seventy one sixty
four to three pointer. Mcileski misses that and that is

(02:11:00):
ato point seven. They'll just get it in and that
is going to do it. Wow. Seventy one sixty four.
Wisconsin wins it in double overtime. Coach Mosley goes over
to that coach, a Butler, and they have a nice moment.
Hugs and a lot of respect by both of these teams.
The Badgers win seventy one to sixty four in double overtime,

(02:11:21):
and they get their first true road win of the season. Wow.
Absolutely incredible by Wisconsin women's basketball. Nine and two their record,
and now they'll get a well deserved break and get
to finals and studying and they're off until next Friday.
Postgame show coming up, we'll try and visit with the
head coach of the Badgers, Mariss and Mosley sconsin seven

(02:11:44):
point win in double overtime. This is Badger basketball from
lear Field. What a game, double overtime. Wisconsin defeats Butler
seventy one two sixty four. The Badgers improved to nine
and two overall their best starts in a decade and
a half as a program, and one of those games
where you go back to this, probably throughout the season,

(02:12:04):
we'd been here before, and look at what we've been
able to do. And I have to say that it's
when you're doing it against Rutgers, a Big ten team,
and you're doing against Butler out of the Big East.
It just continues to add that confidence to this program
into these players. And wow, seventy one to sixty four
as the Badgers in double overtime, they just really they

(02:12:25):
just turned it on offensively and defensively in that second overtime,
outscoring Butler twelve to five. So scoring by the quarters
in the periods here. First quarter, Butler outscored Wisconsin fifteen
to thirteen. Second quarter, Butler outscored the Badgers eighteen to
eleven and went at a halftime with the lead. But
the Badgers fought back in the third and fourth quarter
sixteen to eleven. They outscored Butler and fifteen to eleven.

(02:12:48):
First overtime, each team scored four points. Second overtime, as
we said, Sconsin outscores Butler twelve to five, and the
seventy one to sixty four victory. Hope you get a
chance to talk with the head coach the Badgers, Marissa Mosley.
As we wait, let's go to some of the team
stats here. Wisconsin shooting wise, twenty six of sixty from

(02:13:08):
the field for forty three percent. For Butler twenty three
of sixty six four thirty five percent three pointers. It
was rough for the Badgers to night twelve eleven that
is just eighteen percent, and for Butler eleven of twenty
one so or excuse me, seven of twenty seven, so
that is just twenty six percent. So neither team really
great from downtown, but Wisconsin a very tough night shooting threes.

(02:13:32):
Wisconsin free throws seventeen of twenty eight, that's sixty one percent.
They'd want to be a team that's much better than that.
But Butler tonight eleven to twenty one, fifty two percent.
So you knew the losing team was going to look
at free throws and go, boy, that's the game. And
thankfully it's it's Butler who comes out on the short
end of that. Butler came in and not just with
depth they prided themselves down, but also turnover margin. They

(02:13:55):
had nineteen turnovers in this game, Wisconsin thirteen, the Badgers
fifteen points off turnovers and Butler seven. Wisconsin rebound thirty
nine total rebounds for Butler forty two, so the Badgers
actually got out rebound in this game. Defensively, Wisconsin out
rebound and Butler twenty five to twenty two, but those
offensive rebounds Butler had twenty compared to Wisconsin's fourteen, with

(02:14:15):
each team fifteen second chance points. Talked about the depth
all night for Butler, and it was highlighted the bench points.
Butler had thirty seven points off the bench, Wisconsin only
had six the Badgers points in the paint though that
is where Sarah Williams dominates, and the Badgers had forty
four points in the paint to Butler's twenty six. Three
fast break points for Butler two for the Badgers, Wisconsin

(02:14:36):
four blocks and ten steals, Butler no blocks. They had
eight steals though nineteen assists by Butler, Wisconsin fourteen six ties,
five lead changes. Wisconsin only led for eleven to zero
nine of this game. Butler led for almost thirty three minutes,
but thanks to the last few minutes, it was Wisconsin
with the lead and that's really all that counts. As
Wisconsin gets a double overtime win, seventy one to sixty four,

(02:14:59):
we'll take another break. We'll come back with individual numbers.
This is Badger basketball from lear field. Seventy one to
sixty four. Your final score. Wisconsin wins in double overtime
against Butler. It is fun to say that, and the
Badgers improved to nine and two overall. Let's look at
individual numbers briefly. We'll look here at Butler. A couple
players at score thirteen Mcleski five of fifteen from the field,

(02:15:20):
three of ten shooting three, so we're thirteen not overly efficient,
six rebounds. James had thirteen points, four of eleven from
the field, eight rebounds in thirty minutes. And those were
your leading scorers, your two and double digits for Butler.
On the other side for Wisconsin, thirty six points for
Sarah Williams. She had had thirty one in her career
three different times, but a new career high to night

(02:15:41):
thirty six, and Wisconsin needed pretty much all thirty six
from Sarah Williams in order to get the win this evening.
Thirteen of twenty six from the field, so she is
fifty percent, ten of twelve from the free throw line,
fourteen rebounds, three assists, and forty three minutes. Sarah Williams
your MVP of the game. You need sometimes your best

(02:16:02):
players to have their biggest games when others are struggling.
That was the case for Sarah Williams. And this is
just a game where over the years Wisconsin they just
don't win this game. They just don't. And this season
they are and you see how different it is. Nine
and two is your record through the first eleven games.
Cardi McCrae finished with thirteen points, four of six from
the field, five of eight shooting free throws, and some

(02:16:24):
of those were just key key free throws, high pressure
free throws at the end, three rebounds, and she finished
with four fouls. But she had those four fouls back
in the fourth quarter. I mean for her to play
a clean overtime. Two overtimes and thirty seven minutes. CARTERA McCrae.
When some of it wasn't easy tonight, she was able
to fight through Natalie Leitsinger. She went scoreless for most

(02:16:45):
of this game. She finished with ten though three of
eight from the field, hit two free throws, six rebounds,
hit a deep three late in the game that was critical.
Six rebounds for her in forty two minutes. Again a
game where Natalie Leitsinger's not going your way. She guts
through it, and that's what you need your players to do.
Some Knights easier than others, and Wisconsin able to get
a gutty performance. Six points for Ronnie Porter in a

(02:17:08):
game where she had three assists in three turnovers, and
some of those turnovers you could see the look on
her face. She was disappointed with herself, but did enough
to guide her team to victory. Douglas six points, those
were big, five huge rebounds. She had four assists thirty
five minutes. One of the best games we've seen from
Halle Douglass in her career. It may not be all
stat sheet stuff, but she's a player you put in there.

(02:17:29):
She's not going to make many mistakes. She's going to
give you a sigh, She's going to give you a
shot here and there. Halle Douglass really really important, really important.
Thirty five minutes to night was great. Spashofski and Jimenez.
They go scoreless and Tess Meyers goes scoreless. Oh for
four shooting threes, and that's the way you get. Sometimes
at the three point shooter, it can be a little streaky.

(02:17:51):
And this was a game where Myers didn't have it
and Wisconsin was still able to do enough to get
this one to a victory seventy one two sixty four.
And this was a hard, hard fought game, a long game,
but the Badgers able to get it done. We'll take
one final break, we'll come back, We'll play the highlights
and look ahead to what is next for these nine

(02:18:12):
and two Wisconsin Badgers. They win seventy one to sixty
four in double overtime in Indianapolis against Butler. This is
Badger Basketball from Learfield. Double overtime victory for Wisconsin women's
basketball defeating Butler seventy one two sixty four in Indianapolis.
First true road win for the Badgers this year. They
improved to nine and two. We have gone through all
the stats. Our producer Brandon was working hard all game.

(02:18:34):
So here are some of the highlights. Three points. We
are tied at fifty five with seventeen point three to go,
and a timeout is called Ronnie Porter for the Badgers
down to Sarah Williams. Williams gets double team. Toss it
back outside, lightsing your three point a right side, and
she splashes it. Natalie Lightsinger hits the three sixty four
fifty nine Wisconsin, two forty two left in the second overtime.

(02:18:59):
Porter gets a screen from Williams. They'll go back outside.
Lightsinger five to shoot left elbow sixteen Butter rattles oh
back to back buckets for Natalie Leitzinger. The bench explodes
in celebration. Lightsing are the big smile sixty six sixty
one Wisconsin, one thirty one left in overtime, number two
order looking for a Williams screen. She gets it now.
Porter goes back outside, Douglas, back inside Williams, turn around,

(02:19:21):
off the glass. She got it, Sarah Williams. Thirty five points,
sixty eight sixty three Wisconsin, fifty seconds left in the
second overtime, Wisconsin the five point lead, and that is
going to do it. Wow. Seventy one sixty four Wisconsin
seventy one sixty four and double overtime your final score.

(02:19:41):
The Badgers continue to win these close, hard fought, difficult,
difficult games. And to do it at home important, do
it on the road extra special, and of the Badgers
as we said, improved two nine and two other Big
ten scores here quickly, This great in state rivalry game
eighteenth ranked Iowa State at twenty first ranked Iowa. Iowa
State the twenty two to nineteen lead with seven h

(02:20:04):
nine left in halftime. Every other game has gone final
as these games just went final. Twenty fourth ranked Nebraska
hosting Tarleton State wins sixty three to fifty. Minnesota handles
Jackson State in Minneapolis easily eighty one two forty three.
Rutgers defeats Fairley Dickinson eighty three two fifty eight in Piscataway.

(02:20:24):
Penn State at Providence wins sixty eight two fifty one.
And those are your other big ten scores. So now
for the Badgers, get a chance to get your breath
a little bit. It is final exam season at the
UW so you focus on exams the rest of the week.
Next week going to be important, and then the Badgers
finish off the non conference slate. Next Friday, December twentieth,

(02:20:46):
Wisconsin will host Albany at the Coal Center and for
the Badgers they will have a nine to two record,
best start in a decade and a half for this program.
And really fun to watch them winning these close games.
They drop Butler to nine and three overall, it's going
to do it for our broadcast. My thanks to our
producers Brandon Fisher and Dave Gasper. This is Reed Magnum

(02:21:08):
one more time. Your final score in double overtime Wisconsin
seventy one and Butler sixty four. All of us at
