even I yours humbly can admit I know how that sounds. Again.

joins us an hour number two, we'll talk with him
about the Gamecock spring game. What do we learn from
Friday night's affair at Williams Brice Stadium. Where are the

(02:35):
implications of a former four star in state prospect like
Campringle six', eight three hundred plus pound offensive lineman jumping
in the? Portal all of that in the bag of
chips coming up an hour number. Two for all of
our Game cock listeners who peek over the fence and
hang out with us every, day so you could.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Continue to peek over the fence at the best radio showing.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
The naked the late Great cleveland man there dropping that.
Bomb Mini moons to go here on the. Program one
of one of the great callers on this program back
when we took a lot of phone, calls not a.
Lot this show has never been called, driven but when
we took more phone. Calls as a matter of, fact
it Was DOUBLE o who reached out to me yesterday

(03:19):
BECAUSE i had mentioned a little bit of wrestling on
the program and that got me geared up to try
to get in touch With Mike. Mooneyham now you guys
probably Remember. Mike he's been on the program several, times
but most people Know Mike mooneyham from his work with
The Posting courier covering. Wrestling and So DOUBLE o asked

(03:41):
me an interesting question THAT i didn't know the answer
to because WHEN i was growing, up and you might
remember this, differently and that's perfectly. Fine but THE wwe
or what was then the ww U f you, Know Hulk,
Hogan Randy, savage all of those. Guys oh, yeah they

(04:07):
didn't really tour The southeast LIKE i, remember like like
THE wcw or NW a And Dave Crockett promotions Or
Jim Crockett promotions and and all, that Like, flair you,
know The Nature boy and all those guys did The

(04:27):
Four horsemen staying The nikita Cole, OFF i haven't call.
Off that was kind of more. Regionalized those guys were In,
greenville they were In, columbia the Township. Auditorium they were In,
charlotte and those guys were In atlanta at The Omni.
HECK i can remember like sometimes on their on their

(04:50):
little you, know on the television, show going to commercial,
break they'd, say and here's where we're gonna be coming next,
week we're gonna be and they'd be like at The
armory In, Richmond, Virginia like holy. Moly AND i didn't,
think you, know that's kind of, small but you, know
they would be at The. Armory they would go and
do those types of venues back, then smaller, towns smaller.

(05:15):
RUNS i don't know how many. Matches it certainly wasn't
a big starcade like At stravaganza Or WrestleMania by any,
means but it gave those local communities that saw those
guys occasionally on television a chance to get out there
in person and see. Them but WHAT i did not
remember IS wwe coming To columbia or Even greenville until much,

(05:46):
later much. LATER i KNOW wwe had some runs over In, Augusta.
GEORGIA i do RECALL wwe making some appre just. There
but and this is WHY i want to try to
get up With Mike mooneyham and we make get him
on the day or at least sometime this. Week BUT

(06:13):
i don't have a recollection and maybe you do Of
Hulk hogan ever wrestling in The Township auditorium Or andre The,
Giant and that's what Double ow asked. Me Double oh, Said,
swanny Did andre ever wrestle at The Township? Auditorium AND

(06:37):
i could not answer the, question and that it's. Rare
it's rare THAT i don't know the answer to a
question about, Wrestling BUT i don't remember THE wwf, touring you, Know,

(07:01):
Columbia South carolina in like the nineteen, eighties When andre
The giant would have been a part of that. Promotion,
Now andrea was in THE wwf from nineteen seventy three
to nineteen ninety, one and after doing a little, research

(07:28):
it does look like at that time they they would
tour occasionally and visit The Old Carolina. Colisseum but to
my recollection and as noted, Online columbia was a stronghold
For Jim crockett. Promotions so if you, remember if you were,

(07:52):
there if you Saw andre The giant at The, township
let me, know BECAUSE i don't recall it, now and
not that that even necessarily makes it a deal breaker
on the storyline, here but if you if you did
go and you did see, Him i'd love to. Know
there is speculation, online like there's some wrestling data sites

(08:18):
that list some of this stuff and it claims that
on and this is WHAT i cannot. BELIEVE i don't
remember this because this was right around my birthday WHEN
i was twelve years. Old why WAS i not at this? Event,
Dad february, sixth nineteen eighty nine at The Township. Auditorium

(08:40):
the claim is It andre The giant Defeated jake The Snake. Roberts,
DUDE i WOULD i would love to hear somebody give
some insight into those opportunities or any opportunity to See
andre In, columbia even at The they claim in seventy

(09:02):
eight with Mid Atlantic wrestling that he was there Facing Ken.
Petera in seventy nine he Faced Ernie ladd the best
two big guys in the, ring and they also claim
in seventy four he wrestled in two, verses one a
handicap match Versus Bill white And Mike putdusis or. Something,

(09:28):
Dude i'd love to hear y all on. That but
that's WHAT i was able to dig up on On
andre The. Giant WHAT i remember About andre In johnstone
if you lived In, johnstone f and really these were
probably all over the. Country but there was this STICKER
i remember specifically in the, hallway the little turnstiles at

(09:50):
the end of the. Halls it's, weird LIKE i still
occasionally have dreams About. JOHNSTONE i, know it's. BIZARRE i
still have dreams about that hormitory for some. Reason but
in one of the turnstiles at the end of the,
hallway there was a sticker on the walls that it,
Said andrea The giant has a. Posse andre The giant

(10:14):
has a. Posse he still. Does he's still larger than,
life still larger than. Life what thirty somebodd years after passing.
Away he passed away In january of nineteen ninety, Three
so what thirty two years? Later and still you Can't

(10:36):
every TIME i get on like a social media platform
AND i get into those little scrolls that show like
for whatever, reason the you, know the system feeds me
old school, wrestling AND i Get. ANDRE i Got andre
today BEFORE i started doing this segment which is HOW
i ended up kind of weaving back down the line
Of Double o's questioning asking me about you, know IF

(11:00):
i ever Saw andrea in, person AND i, didn't and
that would be one of my probably my regrets of
sports in some. Sense AND i know some of you will, Say,
swanny you're using alert the word sports loosely if you're
talking about. Wrestling but one of the things THAT i,

(11:23):
REGRETS i didn't See shaquille O'Neal playing basketball Or. KOBE
i did See Michael. JORDAN i had tickets to See shaquille,
O'Neal and we went To atlanta and could not get

(11:45):
to the. Event they had actually shifted the. Time and
this was before this was before the internet was, LIKE
i don't even know if we had, Internet i'd have
to really. Look but you certainly didn't have a phone
that told, you, oh the tip off got moved to
noon instead of five o'clock or. Whatever and so we

(12:06):
got to town and the game was already. Over but
that was a tough. ONE i could have. SEEN i
could have had a chance to See. SHACK i believe
he was playing With orlando though at the time Not Los. Angeles.
Uh And i've never got a chance to See Lebron.
James AND i know somebody will SAY i can't Stand Lebron,

(12:28):
james but you, KNOW i think as sports, fans it's
really cool when you get a chance to, see you,
know one of the, greats one of the guys that
has done more, statistically the, longevity you, know all of those.
Things like IF i could have Seen Wilt, CHAMBERLAIN i

(12:49):
would have loved to see it. More IF i would
have had a chance to See Magic. JOHNSON i did
get to See Dominique wilkins WHEN i was a. KID
i went to see The Atlanta hawks take on The Milwaukee,
bucks and you, know saw some guys. Obviously When i've
been to games with The, HORNETS i was. Hoping and

(13:09):
we took my son to See Victor Wimbin yama last
season and The spurs Sat Womban yama for their road
game In, charlotte and for the first time in my
experience as a consumer of sports, specifically THE nba kind
of got hit by the what they call it load,

(13:33):
management load management for the Rookie, monster and so we
didn't get to See Womban yama. Play he was. There
we got to see, him you, know walking around, again
big old tall. Fella BUT i hope to get the
chance to see him. Play my son did get to
See John morant. Play we saw The Memphis grizzlies. Play

(13:57):
and you, know obviously we've Seen LaMelo, ball whose form
is terrible but somehow manages to average twenty five point
two points per. Game that that right, there it blows your.
Mind you go watch The hornets and you Watch LaMelo,
ball and you tell me how that dude averages twenty

(14:18):
five point two points per game in THE. Nba i'll
tell you why nobody's playing any. DEFENSE i like POSTSEASON,
nba but the fact that that dude averages twenty five
point two a, game it's really. Inexcusable his form is,
atrocious he's, Fast i'll give him, that he's. Athletic but

(14:40):
if if teams in the nineteen, eighties in the nineteen,
Eighties Bill lambier will Put LaMelo ball on the injured
list on the regular basis, tattode you would not get
away with some of the stuff that these guys get
a away with in TODAY'S. Nba you just. Wouldn't but,

(15:09):
anyway enough of all on the retrospective, Again we'll try
to Get Mike muoniham on this week at some, point you,
know He i'd love to dig in a little bit
on the relationships that he had with the, wrestlers kind
of behind the. Scenes is somebody who covered it and

(15:30):
some of his earliest memories of, wrestling and if he
covered you, know was he In colombia When andrea came
through and what was that? Like it's hard not to

(15:51):
just be enamored With andre The. Giant it's a trends
and he's a he is a transcendent figure in sports.
Entertainment and the longer That i'm, alive the MORE i
realize how MUCH i, Mean, look there are, impactful impactful

(16:18):
individuals in the, sport certainly in The. Southeast The Nature,
Boy Rick, Flair, Nationally Hulk, hogan the run that THE
nWo went on With hogan as a bad, guy the
you know what you saw in THE wwe when they
went to Their attitude era With Stone cold and and

(16:39):
the Rock. Man all of that, STUFF i, think you,
know made those guys transcendent figures of the, sport but
without huge, personality without some kind of top flight skill,
set what Like andre The giant was doing. These you,

(16:59):
know he was athletic in his younger. YEARS i, mean
for his, size the things he was doing was pretty.
Wild but to sort of be just a big guy
and not have much else in your repertoire late in your,

(17:19):
career and even those videos THAT i said pop up
on my feed consistently With, ANDRE i, mean the man.
Was they called him the Eighth wonder of the. World
there's a. Reason there's a reason for. It you, know
he REALLY i mean we could say he won the,

(17:40):
championship but did he? REALLY i, mean you, know that
was a great one with The hebner, Brothers oh my.
Goodness but where they pulled Off they, said how much
money did the million dollar man spend on the facial reconstructive?
Surgery and then there were two reps that looked the
exact Same David Earl. Hebner you'd never seen those two

(18:01):
guys together. Before hogan can't believe he lost the. Belt
andre gives it up immediately to a million dollar. Man ah.
Dude But andre was a figure, that no matter how
little impact he really had in his latter years because

(18:24):
of a bad, back And i'm sure carrying that weight,
around he transcended the sport and still to this day
is one of those guys THAT, i you, Know WrestleMania,
THREE i can't take my eyes off of it WHEN
i SEE i REMEMBER i was a. Kid Pro Wrestling
illustrated had like the tail of the tape and it
listed the height and the weight and everything Of andre Versus.

(18:45):
Hogan and how big that moment was In piper's pit
when he ripped off the crucifix off Of Hulk, hogan
off Of Hulk hogan's, Necklace AND i just, like, wow
how big of a moment was? That like for a,
kid you, know it's nine or ten years old when that's.
Happening it.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Was it was.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Unbelievable my son asked me yesterday WHEN i was watching
the end Of, WrestleMania and he, Said, dad how do you, know,
boy this is going to be. Controversial my next my
next statement is going to be a controversial. One how
do you watch it when you know it's not. REAL

(19:27):
i watch for the, STORYLINE i watch for the. ATHLETICISM
i understand that the end result is, scripted and nobody
seems to dispute that. Now the way they once did
get punched in the face back in the day but,
YEAH i watch for the storyline and the, talent just
to see what people, do because the stuff they're doing

(19:48):
now is. Tremendous So i'm hopeful that we can get
up With Mike muoniham in the near. Future all, right quick,
break we'll turn our attention to the college football. World

(20:57):
throttle for a, MOMENT i did learn a, lot you.
Know somebody told, ME i can't, remember you, know there's
so Many clemson message boards that are out. There, anyway
somebody told me one, time they, Said, swany, uh there
was a post about your show on a message. BOARD
i was, like, oh, yeah what they? Say, like, well you,
know most people said they really liked the. Show and somebody, said,

(21:19):
uh you, Know swany will take a topic whatever that,
is and and he'll you, know stretch that thing out
or whatever to last seven. Minutes AND i thought to
myself WHEN i read, That, YEAH i don't know if
they said seven, minutes but, anyway that's BECAUSE i FEEL
i have to fill a. Segment can you imagine the

(21:43):
show if it was like A twitter, scroll LIKE i
just went all over the place on You, no, dude. Listen,
clearly whoever said that has never hosted a radio show
to know THAT i gotta. GO i gotta go from
POINT a to POINT b in one segment as BEST i,
can AND i gotta stay in the. LANE i can't

(22:06):
just you, know do, This, seving go. SQUIRREL i gotta stay.
FOCUSED i gotta stay focused on What i'm. Doing i'm.
Trying i'm trying to let him. Know all, Right, anyway
in the world of college, football and really more specifically

(22:27):
in the world of the transfer, portal we've got what
feels like it feels like a. TRADE a trade has taken.
Place so last week hot topic was Nico Io, maliava
the former quarterback At, tennessee landing that didn't become official

(22:51):
until over the weekend and then even into. Yesterday you,
know On, monday people are still seeing well finalized the. Deal,
well a day after Nico Io maliava finalized his move
from The volunteers to The, ruins u c L a

(23:13):
Quarterback Joey, agular who transferred from App state to u
c L a during The december, window plans to sign With.
Tennessee that according to ESPN's Chris low yesterday putting that.

(23:36):
Out sources reporting that AT espn as, well he trades
places with nico who transferred From tennessee TO. Ucla Chris
low tweeting the trade the quarterback trade is. Complete Tom
fornelly tweeting trade details to U c L a Quarterback

(23:59):
nico el My I maliava To tennessee Quarterback Joey aguilar
agular transferring back across the country from App state To
ucla To. Tennessee After tennessee Quarterback Nico iomailiava sought to

(24:19):
bump his nil deal from two point two million to
potentially four, million And tennessee called his. BLUFF i know
the song says good Old Rocky, top but how about
good On Rocky. Top good on them for saying thanks
for no. Thanks two point two million is plenty to
be our. Quarterback and so Now nico goes to the

(24:42):
state Of california making. Less and, hey, LOOK i don't
really get into the how much taxes people pay in the,
state BUT i know that in the state Of, california
your tax rates are. High i've often, said if you're
calculating like an nil, deal or if you're a head
coach and you're gonna go coach out In, california you

(25:06):
gotta factor in cost of, living you gotta factor in the.
Taxes all of that comes. Across it is A it's
much cheaper to live In, Clemson South carolina than it
Is Los, Angeles. California it's much cheaper to live In,
Clemson South carolina than it is to live In, Atlanta.

(25:26):
Georgia so there's perks to being in the big, city
but there's perks to being In auburn And clemson and
the smaller towns as. Well those, dollars even though you've
got stacks and stacks of, them still go a lot.
FURTHER i, MEAN i don't know what it cost. When

(25:50):
so you got the two, brothers for, example you Got
Garrett riley At clemson And Lincoln riley AT. Ucla AND
i Know garrett's an assistant coach And lincoln's the head.
Coach but imagine those two. Guys let's say That garrett
goes and Visits lincoln and they go out to dinner
In Los. Angeles doesn't they can afford? It but how

(26:10):
much do they? Pay now flip, It let's Say lincoln
Visits garrett and they go. Out how much are they
gonna pay when they go? Out And clemson even if
you go To Calhoun corners by comparison Or pixie And
bills by comparison to someplace In Los, angeles unless you're

(26:36):
going out to like the in and Out, burger you're
coming out better in the. Upstate but, yeah So Joey
aguilar from App state by way Of ucla going across
the country back To. Tennessee After nico goes From tennessee To.
Ucla we are In we are in some kind of weird,

(26:59):
world oh. Man like there used to be a time
WHEN i could you could say that people listen on
the radio about the topic you were talking. About you,
NOW i know what you're. THINKING i. DON'T i don't
know what you're. Thinking if you're anything like, me you're
thinking this stuff is. Crazy and so remember what we said.
Yesterday we mentioned the fact that not, one but two

(27:23):
guys without eligibility At, Clemson Jane zachary And Ian shefflin
declared for the. Portal chef put out a statement last
night after we went off the. Air i'll read it
to you when we get. Back lawton swam with You
Clemson Sports talk on A. Tuesday all, Right so last
night after we went off the, Air Ian shefflin put

(27:45):
out a tweet should say yes yesterday afternoon kind of
explaining his reasoning of getting into the transfer. Portal he, said,
quote WHILE i am pursuing my options on the professional,
LEVEL i have been advised to PENDING NC doublea cases
to enter the portal on the very outside chance more

(28:10):
eligibility is. Allowed That's Ian shefflin's take on jumping into the. Portal,
now Remember cheflin And Jayden zachary at this point do

(28:31):
not have any eligibility remaining. None but THE Nc DOUBLE
a may very well decide to grant every player a
fifth year of. Eligibility AND i guess some of this
comes out of THE covid nineteen season where guys got
that EXTRA covid. Year And i'm not saying that's why

(28:56):
these guys are getting a fifth, year but that's probably
where this thought process came. From, now grad Transfer Miles
foster also entered the transfer portal On. Monday we did
not report that here on the. Program so as much
as you, Know clemson is brought in now, OFFICIALLY i,

(29:22):
like do you add those guys to your portal? LIST
i JUST i. CAN'T i can't bring myself to do
it because they don't currently have. Eligibility it's not like
they at this point could. Return and WHAT i hate about,
this AND i think the reason That ian took to

(29:43):
social media to explain it is Because schefflin recognizes where
his status is in the minds eye Of clemson, fans
and when people like my sister come across that on social,
media she's not necessarily she might realize that he's doesn't

(30:05):
have any eligibility, left but the first reaction is gonna
be what what is the chef? Cooking? Like what is
he up? To as a matter of, Fact i'm kind
of surprised that she didn't reach out to. Me it's
possible that she didn't see it. YET i mean that's a,
possibility BUT i think that's the reason That shefflin felt

(30:30):
compelled to come out and say. Something not so Much Jayden. Zachary,
look jay z was a key player For clemson this past,
season no, doubt but it was for this past. SEASON i,
mean he had played previous seasons With Boston. College it's
not anything near how you felt About Ian shefflin throughout

(30:51):
his career At. Clemson not to mention the grind and
the steps you know That Ian shefflin kind of took
to get to that. Point you, know was a he
climbed that ladder rung by rung to become not just
one of the the best on the team this. Year
BUT i think For clemson, fans giving his effort and

(31:12):
energy and all those, intangibles one of the Best Clemson
tigers right that you've ever watched or wanted to. SUPPORT i,
mean his quirky, hair you, know it's kind of perceived
lack of. Athleticism that kind of stuff kind of adds
to it a little. Bit But i'm pretty sure that's

(31:34):
why he came out and made a little statement on.
It he didn't want he didn't want everybody, mad everybody
mad at. Him what you're driving that? Corvette now, This
now you turn your back on, Us you turn your
back On Clemson Tiger. Nation Ian shefflet LIKE i can
hear people and then somebody's, like, dude he didn't have

(31:55):
any eligibility. Left what if they gave him a fifth?
Year well even, still if that case gets decided or
they end up putting it in, place you, know As
william walkinbish said yesterday on the, program at that, point
there really is no guarantee that he would even have

(32:16):
a landing spot or a. DESTINATION i mean quite, frankly
Because clemson has gone out and replaced, them you, know
gone out and found other individuals who were younger and
coming in to take those. Spots not to, mention you,

(32:40):
know we talk about THE ncaa and whether or not you,
know legally and talking about this like would it hold
up if you talk about players being able to pursue
education options past five? Years you, know if you want
to go get a doctorate or, whatever why can't you play?
Basketball why is the limit on how long you're allowed

(33:02):
to do, that especially if you are able to earn
a living and make money while you're doing. It but
the thing that it would be completely messed up by
all of this is if they if THE ncaa just
came up and, said, sure we're gonna we're gonna change the,
rules we're gonna allow. That and when when it happened WITH,

(33:25):
covid remember they had to alleviate and allow some roster
numbers to fluctuate because you had all these freshmen that
had come, In you had all these seniors that didn't
have to leave if they didn't want, To and because of,
that the roster's. Ballooned and then we kind of had
that bubble of the twenty the kids that were in

(33:47):
college in twenty twenty that had the option to stick,
around and that continued to eat at the scholarship. Numbers
if you just said a blanket, statement, yeah we're gonna
let every guy have another. Year, Dude just like, that
you're back in the same, pickle same, predicament and at
that point it would never go. Away that twenty twenty

(34:11):
bubble ripple whatever worked its way out of the. System
year by, year you got closer to the final guys
who were in school during twenty. Twenty If i'm pretty,
sure if you said, nope we're going to five, years
that ripple never. Leaves there's how do you fix it

(34:31):
without turning away kids from high? School without having more?
Guys you, know we talk about the seven one hundred
and forty possible spots to play college football at the highest.
Level what if there were more Guys AND i, MEAN
i know these guys are basketball, players but, still what
if there were more guys available that could come back

(34:53):
for another year because of another rule? CHANGE i, MEAN
i JUST i don't, know, Man there's got to be some.
Limitation there has to be some, limitation all, right final
segment of our number one coming. Up don't Forget, mike
you'va joined us an hour to stay with. Us final
segment of our number One clemson Sports talk coming, Up
Mike Eva gamecockcentral Dot com joins the. Program what's talk

(35:18):
with him About South carolina spring. Game we'll talk About
campringle entering the transfer, portal et. CETERA A zer three
four or five zero zero eighty six saw this. Yesterday,
Actually Susan, lloyd who does some incredible photography for the,
website she sent me. This she got the text from

(35:42):
her son when it came. ACROSS i think it WAS
i think this is the. One maybe he sent her the.
Screenshot THE ncaa proposing new rules to allow direct payments to,
Players this news coming out at the top of the
hour of our umber two. Yesterday THE Ncaa division On

(36:04):
board Of directors On monday proposed deleting one hundred and
fifty three long standing rules from his handbook in a
move that will allow schools to share financial benefits directly
with players and expected to step towards a new era
of amateurism in college, athletics but one that remains contingent

(36:25):
upon the approval of The House. Settlement so this would
BE i believe in a large part the shift towards revenue.
SHARING ncaa board members met for about four hours On,
monday and this is WHAT i was. Thinking, actually in
between the TIME i got off the air and today's,

(36:50):
SHOW i kind of thought, about, like as much as
we talk about it and think about, it but we
have no power to really change. It how much do
you think the people who the power, brokers the people
who can change, it how do you think they think
and feel about it? All but THE ncaa board members

(37:12):
met for four hours On. Monday it emerged with nine
major proposed legislative, changes including permission for schools to provide
direct financial payments to, players including for the use of their.
Nil according to the, ARTICLE ncaa leaders are aiming to
reshape things By july one if the settlement is. Approved

(37:37):
schools have it Until june fifteenth to decide whether to
opt to provide benefits that would be permissible under the
settlement for the coming academic. Year proposed legislation also includes
sports specific roster limits and allowing full scholarships to all
student athletes on declared, roster a move THE ncaa said
will double the scholarships available in Women's this would also

(38:01):
BE i believe the situation that would push rosters in
football to one hundred and five, players but no walk
on everybody's. Paid the proposed legislation would also align with
the Expected house settlement in that it would allow power
for schools and other schools who choose to offer settlement

(38:24):
related benefits to provide up to twenty point five million
in direct financial benefits to. Players not All DIVISION i
one schools would choose to operate in the new system
enabled by the, settlement as The Ivy league has chosen
to opt out and continue to operate under the current.
Structure according To Heavin, dentach so look, stability roster, STABILITY

(38:49):
i think fans feeling better about where the sport. Is
according to the. Article to prevent schools from trying to
circumvent the twenty point five million dollar, cap THE ncaa
has proposed rules to help with the accountability and all

(39:10):
players will be required to disclose THEIR nil agreements if
they are greater or equal to six hundred. Dollars agreements
between a player and a third party outside of their
school will be. Reviewed and so from this, STANDPOINT i
think one of the things that you kind of see

(39:33):
here And i've never really thought of it this way
all that, often but it really kind of becomes a
chicken or the egg deal for the value of the.
Player and WHAT i mean by that is the player
certainly has inherent. Value do not dispute that at, all

(39:56):
but ease your value. Greater but call Of clemson Or
South carolina Or miami Or Florida state or whoever you play,
for we have to admit that as much brand value
as the players bring the, school the schools also bring
brand value to the. Players because if college athletics just,

(40:18):
folded if it ceased to exist in a, blink IF
i could snap my fingers and it would cease to,
exist what would high school kids do for the three
or four years before a handful of them are good
enough to make money professionally playing? Football, like that's the real.

(40:40):
Question if college sports cease to, exist how much value
would these individuals have in between high school and Pro you'd, say,
well we'd need a league for them or something. Swanny
but if that league did not, exist how many guys could?

(41:04):
Go and this is where this thing's really gotten a
wack of do man really gotten wacka? Do how many
of these players could go from high school to the,
pros especially in, football very few, right maybe maybe five maybe.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
None Who shay.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Salesman and yet players who are young are making millions
of dollars to play the. Sport but the reason that
they have value is because of the. Teams, yes they have.

(41:54):
Value but you take the best player in the, country
whomever you believe that to, be and you get rid
of this level of the, sport AND i ask you
who's paying them and paying them for? What? Like from my,
standpoint the schools add a ton of value as. Well

(42:17):
that's a part of. It we'll talk With Mike eva
and nour number two stay with, us keep it a
lot On Fox Sports radio fourteen hundred each time For
Clipson Sports talk with Luwten. Schwan it is our number.

(43:09):
Two that's drivetime right here on the Show The Shakespare,
Southland Clemson, Sports Talll lot And swan hanging out with
you on A. Tuesday, mike you have A Gamecock central
Dot com joins. Us in just a, Minute The Show
That shakespare South lane brought you in part our good
friends over At Mets plumbing seven three Two drip, drip drip.

(43:30):
Drip you know the jingle seven three to two. Drip
That's Mets plumbing Mets plumbing dot. COM i, WISH i
just WISH i could sing that. One all, Right, mike what's, up?
Buddy welcome? In how are you my?

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Man i'm doing? Good, swandee how you?

Speaker 1 (43:46):
Doing i'm. GOOD i hope you had a Good. EASTER
i Know friday night over At Williams Brice stadium was
The South carolina spring. Game give us the, scoop, MAN i,
MEAN i know what people have been saying. Online pretty good,
attendance kind of a strange field doing it right Before,
easter BUT i mean that's been on the calendar for a.

(44:08):
While give me the.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
Break.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Now what was the news coming out Of Williams Bryce.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
YEAH i, think first and, foremost the reaction from the
prospects that they hosted have been extremely positive so, far
AND i think that's the Tough. PARTSWANI i Know clemson
they started their spring practices a little bit, earlier but
if you're from The Palmetto, state you know that whether
you're A clemson, fan whether you're a Game cock, fan
it really is tricky to figure out when to have

(44:35):
the actual spring game because you look at it's, like all, right,
well you Have Masters, weekend you have THE rbc, Heritage
there's a lot going on in that. State never mind
the fact that For South, carolina typically the women's basketball
team over the last eight decade or, so especially the
last five, years that's when The Final four weekend has
been going on too at the beginning of the. Month
so it is very difficult to try to find a

(44:55):
time where you're gonna make everybody. Happy having said, THAT
i like the idea that they've done over the last
couple of years of having this game at. NIGHT i know,
that you, know the, circumstances being that it Was easter
weekend wasn't. Ideal but at the same time, too AND
i know, again you, know not all the fans are
going to be happy with. It the attendance which you,

(45:16):
had and again it's always estimated to have about thirty six,
thousand that was more than. Anything it's about just the, atmosphere,
RIGHT I, Mean i've always said this before with the,
fans you could have sixty thousand. There but if it's
a wine and cheese kind of, crowd who really cares
how many fans are actually at a spring? Game Like I'm,
sorry they're not going to have a parade Down Main

(45:36):
street for you and give you the key on the
steps of The State. House but you know that number.
Matters but to the game, Itself, look it's really tricky
with some, positions the offensive, line because they do a,
draft it's a mixed. Bag you don't have like the
true first unit working with each. Other AND i think
that's always tricky because the pass blocking it wasn't. Consistent

(45:59):
run blocking wasn't. Consistent you saw some good, Though Cyra,
Woods South Carolina naive the true. Freshmen he threw the
ball extremely, well the young wide receiver stepped, up and
then you had some good too with the defensive. Line
SO i think that's the biggest. Takeaway Mason love the.
Truth the sophomore, punter he looks like he's someone that
could be making a push for not only the starting punting,
spot but also place kicking. Spot and when you're talking

(46:21):
about replacing a guy who had the starting spot for five,
years five years because of THE covid year With Kay,
kroger that's certainly another position that you have to look.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
At, mike you've Again gamecockcentral Dot com On twitter At
mike UNDERSCORE uva And, MIKE i saw you retweeted a
video Of Eric rice making a pretty impressive catching the.
Ballgame there was a holding call on the. Play we'll
get to the offensive. LINE i know a lot of

(46:50):
people had some real issues with that from WHAT i
ran on social, media but more, specifically you, know WHEN
i was looking at that video AND i think this
is where like people jump on that, hole how many
fans were actually? There i'm assuming one side of the
stadium was completely blocked off from fans because there's not
a soul on the far side from where this is

(47:12):
video is.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
Taken, yeah, typically and what they've done in nearest, pass
it's usually just that left, side the home side line
is what they open. Up the interesting this. Year the
interesting thing that they did this year was with the
fireworks show after the. Game instead of firing them off
behind where the student section typically, is they fired them

(47:34):
off on the far. SIDE i want to, say, like you,
know maybe with the, concourse so you, know they certainly
didn't want anyone over. There so it's always funny when you're.
Watching and, again the game itself obviously wasn't, televised which
fourteen of the SIXTEEN sec teams opted to do this
spring or not to, do and instead they're going to
have a thirty minute documentary highlighting their. Program but they

(47:56):
really kept a lot of people away from that. Side so,
again when you look at from an optic, standpoint whether
it be you, know we're watching it ON, tv which
of course wasn't the case this, year but it's been
that way nearest, pass or when you see that video
and someone shooting it from their, phone it is a
little funky when you're not getting people behind behind them
or what's going on like the covide you for crying

(48:16):
out out with THE nfl.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
Teams, well and, look it's not unique to Just South carolina,
Either and, again thirty semi thousands a good. Number BUT
i saw a photo FROM i think it Was, oklahoma
and you, KNOW i, LOOK i don't know how you
accurate some of this stuff. Is and when it's, taken
some people, say, oh it's taken right as the game was,
starting but somebody said they had like five thousand people

(48:39):
and it Will it looked pretty bad from WHERE i,
Sit and like you, SAY i don't think the end
all be all is how many fans are at your spring.
Game by any. Means but for anybody looking at those
videos online and, thinking, well there's nobody, there that's because
everybody's on the near sideline where all the fans. Were,
again That's. Mike you with, us all, Right, mike let's
talk about the offensive line because that's see seems to

(49:00):
be the big issue that a lot Of South carolina
fans talked about on social. Media you, know if you, said,
hey you, know how good Did Leonora sellers? Look most
of the people, said, Oh sellers look pretty, good and
the drives he was in the offensive line looked. Terrible
like that was kind of the gist of most of
the CONVERSATION i saw About South carolina's quarterback performances Was,

(49:22):
ooh the, line the, line the. Line, mike what do you?
Think what's your thoughts on How gamecock fans should feel
about that offensive line right?

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Now, well AGAIN i said, this even going into the,
game over the last couple of, years we've seen this
where the product of the entire. Unit it's very difficult
to walk away and feel great about, it because, again
what they do is they do a. Draft for, example
you don't have the starting five going out there with each.

(49:51):
OTHER i, Know Shane. Beemer he went off a couple
of weeks ago saying that there's no true starting lineup right,
now there's no truth starting depth. Chart but you know
they've been putting a unit out there for those two
scrimmages that was the same back to back. Weeks so
they have a ballpark idea of what they're going to.
Do but certainly there's going to be some competition that's
going to continue to pick up once we get into fall.

(50:13):
Camp but for, example the center that you would expect
to be the starting, center and Even beamer kind of
hinted at it after the game saying That Buzz, stanley
the transfer From, troy he'll probably be someone that is
in line to be the starting. Center he wasn't on
the same team As Lenora, sellers and you don't have

(50:35):
to Be Bear bryan to know That Lenora's. Sellers, well
he's going to be the starting quarterback this. Year so you,
know you had him on the opposite side Of, sellers
you had some other offensive, lineman you, had you, know
guys that might be third teamers lined up on the first.
Team so, again it's tough to be able to get
a true feel for. IT i love the drafts. IDEA

(50:56):
i think from a playing, standpoint it brings excitement in
a game where you know you're trying to find ways
to bring out the, competition. Right but at the same, time,
too it's tough to see how the offensive line's going
to respond as a unit because you have some guys
that are next to each other that may not have
got many reps throughout, spring and unlike you, know playing

(51:17):
pickup basketball or playing hockey or whatever the case may,
be playing, baseball you need to be able to have
some type of rapport when you're working on the offensive.
Line AND i think that's one of the. Challenges AND
i know that this isn't you. Know South carolina's not
the only school that does a spring, game, Right everyone
goes through this in some shapeway or. Form but because
of the draft mentality and having a mixed bag of

(51:37):
offensive line and it's very difficult to have that cohesiveness
that you're looking. For AND i think that was certainly
one of the reasons why the offense wasn't able to
be more consistent this Past.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
Friday, well And clemson fans can certainly relate to that
because for many years that's the Way clemson. Did they
had that draft that split your offensive, line that made
it very difficult to really gauge, anything and maybe a
competitive fun environment and they had the draft and all,
that so they made it pretty. Cool but, YEAH i
think people can understand. That all, right let's stick with
that offensive.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Line, yeah go, ahead that's what real, Quick because some
people may, ask, well why do they do? This the
big reason why they do this is because they want
to see how players respond in their individual one on one.
Matchups and we might not necessarily see that completely when
we watch, it whether it be ON tv if the
game is, televised or for, add an actual spring, game
but when the coaches go back and they're watching the,

(52:30):
film they want to see what a player does, well
and then when they go into fall camp they can
have a better idea if so and so will be
better at this, position maybe at left, guard maybe bumping
him down to the opposite side of the. Line so that's.
Why so, AGAIN i know some fans have been asking
that on the message board on game Cock, Central but
For clemson fans that may be curious why some teams
do that in the. Spring that's the reason why they're

(52:51):
looking for those individual. Matchups.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
Mike the portal window closes On, friday AND i haven't
been keeping up with every single person that's den across the.
Country obviously THERE'S i think about twenty eight hundred guys
that may have gotten in in the past week or,
so who. Knows BUT i did See Camp, ringle who
was a big name out Of Woodland High School clemson
In South. Carolina both heavily recruited. Him he landed In

(53:14):
columbia six,' eight three hundred and thirty pound. OFFENSIVE lineman
i know you covered, his recruiting. You know, TO me
i thought he was a huge win for The game
Cocks over clemson and several other schools when he. Landed
there why DON'T players i don't want, to pigeon, you
Know put cam necessarily in as being the. Only guy

(53:36):
but why don't players want to stick it out and?
DEVELOP anymore, i mean why is? The demand why is
it so easy? To leave maybe that's the bad way to.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
Put, It YEAH and i can't speak specifically as to
every Reason why. Cam LEFT because i had two Former
game cock. OFFENSIVE linemen i was taking a little. Map
today it was nice to be able to take a
little afternoon Snooz after easter YESTERDAY and i wake up
To The cantle NEWS and i had two texts from
Two former gamecock offensive linemen and they basically reiterated what you.

(54:09):
Just SAID and i think the frustrating part is this
when you look at it, face value and that's all
we can do. RIGHT now i got To know cam
pretty well during his Time In, south carolina AND again
i can't speak for, every reason but based on what
my assumptions are and based on some of The things,
i've heard you can kind of put two and, two together,
which is, you know here's a guy that felt like

(54:31):
he wasn't going to be able to play as much
or he, just wasn't, you know gonna wait to see
if he was going to have that opportunity in. Another
year you go through that second spring and you see
where you are. ON again I know beemer says there's no,
depth chart but you're a. Smart guy you have an
idea where you ARE and i think, you know you

(54:52):
look at some of the circumstances that have played out since.
HIS recruitment, i mean you bring guy In Like josiah
thompson competing for on the left side of that off
into the line at. Left tackle you start, Looking around,
you're like, all, right well what's my realistic? Opportunities HERE
so i think that's the. Challenging PART and i think
when you look at how things are going right now
in the, transfer, portal yeah you, know what the grass

(55:14):
may be green at some. Other Places but i'll, Say,
This swani i've done this over the last couple of
years with one player's transfer Out Of south carolina and
how they do at, other schools and there's been a
handful of players that don't. Find opportunities there's been handful
of players that don't really play at all with their.
Next SCHOOL so i think the Thing with CAM is
i think he's still raw in, some shape way or

(55:36):
form with, his BODY and i still think he's working
off some of that, baby fat but he's turned it,
into MUSCLE and i think the development side of him
would have been tremendous to at least go through. ANOTHER year,
i mean now you're going.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
To be up.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
Against it now you got to try to find a
new school before, fall camp in which he, you know he,
still COULD but i just think it's a challenge after
being able to go, through it already you went through.
Another spring why not stick. It out that's just my
pin and you know. On it, but again there could
be some other external Factors that i'm not aware of
at this time about.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
His, situation YEAH and i think the other, Thing, Too
right like in, this capacity YOU and i both get
to talk to, these guys and he always came across,
to me, you know and obviously you've been Around The
south carolina program for a couple of. Years NOW but, i,
mean MAN anytime i talk, to him just just a.

(56:26):
Great kid so, Like.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
You i'll tell, You, this yeah on. Social media on,
social media you'll see this, when players, you, know hey
You know i'm entering. The portal, you know you'll see
some players reach out, and say, you know go be
great or something. Like that the amount of players and
not just, any players but We're Talking, Lenora sellers We're Talking,
Judge callier we're talking to starting players on. This team

(56:51):
we're talking guys that are going to be hopefully hearing
the name later this week IN The. Nfl draft the
impact that he made and just as first, year there,
you know the, veteran player so to, your point an
unbelievable kid wherever. HE goes, i, mean shoot he could
go up and end Up. At clemson i'm not saying
that's gonna be. The case he's the type of GUY
that i want to see him. Do WELL and i

(57:12):
think a lot of people even if he were to
end up up. The street and again that's not saying
that will be, the CASE but i think to, this
point he's such a good person that regardless of where he,
ends up he's the type of guy that you want
to see.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Do, well yeah it's just funny that this is where
we are because, you know you see what Happened With
nico iamaliava in the Situation, at tennessee, where, obviously yeah overplay.
HIS hand, i mean and now you've got the Deal

(57:43):
where aguilar's coming back across the country to be the
Quarterback at Tennessee and nico's Out. In california AND as i,
said earlier, YOU know i don't talk much about, tax
RACE but i know they pay a ton of Taxes
in california and a million Dollars. In california tax is
not as good as Living. In tennessee make it two,
point two.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
No question and it's funny you say that because it
wasn't what too Long Ago bill belichick was talking about
the challenges that, you Know the patriots are. Facing, NOW
granted I think bill's also, you know rubbing a little,
you know salt on, the wound but that was one
of the challenges that he. Brought up is, you know
when you're, not winning it's difficult to get players to come,
out there To To. New england and FROM an, nfl,

(58:26):
standpoint well that's very because of, the taxes and they
Joke around massachusetts It's. Called taxachusets so we bring that
up to a. Pro standpoint now you can apply it
to the, college ranks and certainly no one's really Talking
about massachusetts when it comes to. College football but when
you look at some of those states that do have,
high taxes and you look at, You know california and

(58:47):
some of the challenges so that they're, up against that's
just another added challenge when you're talking about recruiting and
trying to bring. Players. In now it is, interesting Though
and i'm sure you've seen some of the breakdowns. Of it,
it's like, all right at Stayed in tennessee and, you,
know hey he gets paid whatever two point two million.
Or whatever the heck he was going to get compared

(59:09):
to going, out there and let's just use a round
number and say. Two million he's gonna get a hell
of a lot less because of.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
THE taxes i think the funniest thing about this is
there are very few, former players like there really aren't
a lot of former players that are very happy that
these guys are getting all of this because they, feel like,
you know even the former players feel so differently about

(59:37):
how you are supposed to feel about your. College experience,
you know they myself was supposed to be an. Add
on it wasn't supposed to be. Retirement.

Speaker 2 (59:47):
Money swanny i'll tell, you THIS and i hope he
doesn't get mad. At me BUT h i think a
lot of people people know that he probably wouldn't Care
when i'll never. FORGET this i was out one night
and that Was With steven garcia and someone was asking
him about nil, and, saying oh you must be real
Happy for Spencer ratler a getting all. This money, he's,

(01:00:09):
Like no i'm. Really not, he's like kisses. Me off,
HE'S like i should have made that type, of money,
you know to, your point to, your, point yes you
know they are to an extent like happy that they're
getting paid and seeing that they're, doing well but they
can't help, but, wonder like, you know the? What IF
and i think that's.

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
Fair well and because they didn't play in, that era,
AND look i think you'd, be foolish we'd all be
foolish to say that the great players don't get the
five hundred dollars thousand dollars handshakes. AND whatever, I mean
i think we all kind of know that stuff goes
on or, went on but it wasn't, life changing and

(01:00:50):
those guys were still loyal to that school and the
poor and all of that has really jaded THE way
i think some of these older guys look at these
young players, To, go man you guys have no idea
and and and what they really, Don't, know mike and
we'll have got about a minute is how much they
lose in terms of their ability to return to a

(01:01:12):
place and and really take advantage of what that town
and that you know fan base.

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Gives, you no there's no question. About THAT and i
think we've had this conversation on your. Program before that's
one thing that, YOU know i look back to, my
time whether it BE a d two or you look
at some of these other players EVEN play. D three,
i mean there's something to be said about being able
to do something. Like that and now again there's circumstances
where players go off and they leave one school and

(01:01:39):
go to another and things work out, for, THEM right,
i mean We Can.

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Spencer rattler but at the same at the.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
At the same at the same time, too though, you
know again going back to what we're, Talking About, Cam
pringle i'd like to see players just stick it out
a little bit longer at least to be able to
go through that. Development part but we're in a Totally
different ARISWANI and i just feel like it's going to
cont need to change every year until there's some TYPE
of i don't know order that could place with, college

(01:02:07):
athletics but we're unfortunately not.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
There yet get off, My One, mike, eva buddy take
care of, my man, You.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
Too swanny there, You Go.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Mike eva Gamecockcentral, dot com as he joins Us. Every tuesday,
all right, quick break we'll come back with more on
the show that shakes The. South land lawton swan with
you On a. Tuesday afternoon That Was mike eva before the,
Break again come Up Tonight Doug, kingsmore stadium top five

(01:02:37):
matchup depending on where, you Look but clemson ranked number
two in all five major. Baseball polls, right now things
will get going this evening at. Eight o'clock IT'S. On
espn you you can also Listen To don munson on
the Call On clemson Tigers. Dot, com georgia this is

(01:02:58):
always an incredible one, for me no matter how MANY
times i, see it no matter how many games. They
win georgia leads the all time series one, thirty one eleven.
And two clemson does lead the series Though in tigertown,
fifty eight fifty three, and two just barely over five
hundred Against the dogs. All time and THE reason i

(01:03:20):
think it's hard for ME and i really probably would
need to hear a little bit more From a georgia
bulldof fan out Of The classic CITY is i feel
like in My life clemson has been a lot better
baseball Team than. Georgia. Has Now the dogs this SEASON
were i believe a week or, so ago maybe in

(01:03:41):
some of the major, baseball poles maybe ranked third. OR fourth,
i mean they were a top five team and still
lingering in the top five at least in one. Major
poll after a three, game sweep they got their tails
handed to Them against vanderbilt this. Past weekend clemson has

(01:04:02):
a twenty four and five, home record won two of
three this past Weekend. Against Louisville the tigers are the
only team In The Atlantic, coast CONFERENCE as i Mentioned,
on monday that has yet to lose a. Weekend series
clypson's won every weekend series that. They Faced the tigers
average seven and a half runs, per game batting two

(01:04:22):
to seventy seven with a four to forty six. Lugging
percentage Pitching for clemson pretty good now four point four TO,
three era just giving up two twenty seven to opponent
in terms of batting average in a two point six
to zero Strikeout To. Walt ratio georgia enters the game

(01:04:44):
just six and seven on, the road but again three
games lost. THIS weekend i believe those were on the Road,
at nashville so they were six and four going into.
The weekend they averaged nine point one runs. Per Game
the bulldogs back two ninety nine at the plate and
have a four point nine TO seventy ra and talking

(01:05:07):
about the meetings between these, two teams except for the
shortened twenty twenty year BECAUSE of. Covid Nineteen the bulldogs
And the tigers have played every single season since nineteen.
Fifty nine so outside of, that YEAR where I think
clempson played what maybe thirteen games something along those lines,

(01:05:30):
of me it was pretty early in the SEASON when covid,
Ended things Clemson and georgia have played. EVERY year i
feel like they occasionally do play a home.

Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
AT home.

Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
I feel like, Last season i'm a double check pulling
up last season's schedule. Real quick clempson Went. To, athens
no didn't play a home and home, last year but
two years ago they played a home and home about
a week Of part april, the eleventh twenty twenty Three and,
april eighteenth twenty. Twenty three so they've done some home

(01:06:08):
and homes in, the PAST but i honestly don't know
what the frequency of. That, is again that matchup coming
up tonight EIGHT o'clock Espnu as clemson looks to continue
their really solid pace, this season AND as, i Mentioned
the tigers only have four weekend series remaining in, league

(01:06:32):
play on the ROAD At nc state this, coming weekend
on the Road, at tallahassee next weekend at Home against
duke and then on the Road, at pittsburgh so three
Of the tigers' final four series will be played on.
The road this is their final midweek game outside of

(01:06:56):
a Matchup Against coastal Carolina on may, the sixth that's
going to be played Out. In conway so that's another
one of those you know things about this schedule is
as you get a little, further in get a little
closer to the, postseason play you do start to reduce
some of those. Midweek games you don't go with the

(01:07:18):
back to back. Midweek game you don't have that same,
kind of, you know style of a loaded schedule if
you will throughout. The week not, to mention at this
point in, the year you're starting to, talk about, you
know your arms that might be getting a little, worn
down a little, more rest a little more preparation for

(01:07:38):
postseason play where it can be a little bit of
a grind on some of. Those arms it's speaking speaking of.
Those Arms, drew titsworth sophomore right handed Pitcher, for clemson
was NAMED The acc pitcher Of. The week that news came.
Out yesterday He Joined Notre Dame's, carson tinney who was

(01:08:03):
NAMED The acc player Of the week in receiving the.
Conference accolades in his first, Career start titsworth pitched six
innings of three hit ball to earn a two to
one win over Seventeenth rank louisville This. Past friday louisville
entered that game batting three to twenty seven and averaging

(01:08:23):
nine point one runs, per game and he did not
allow a runner past second base during. The outing he
faced just three batters over the minimum in his six innings.
A pitching he also had three strikeouts with, no walks
establishing a career high for innings pitched in that Game.

(01:08:43):
On friday. As well, This season titsworth is four to
zero with, two saves a two point EIGHT, six cra
giving up just a two fourteen opponent's batting average with
thirty two strikeouts and seven walks in and a third
innings pitched over. Fourteen appearances so shout Out To drew

(01:09:07):
titsworth for that honor after just his first career Start.
At CLEMSON and i think it certainly begs the question,
to ask, you know is that gonna be a more
solidified spot for him coming up? This weekend we'll find
out That the tigers go on the road to take
ON The Nc STATE wolfpack a zero three four five

(01:09:30):
zero zero. Eighty six that is the text line in
the phone line. And again The Show the shakes To

Quick break keep It a lot right Here On Fox

with you On, a tuesday haven't talked a whole lot.
About it BUT The nfl draft gets Underway. On thursday

(01:10:13):
the draft is at eight o'clock the first round Only.
On thursday second third round will take Place on friday at,
seven pm and then rounds four through seven will take
Place on saturday. At NOON and i kind of. LIKE

(01:10:34):
this i hate the eight o'clock, START time i hate
the extended length, between picks but AFTER having i think
a year to kind of piece meal, IT together i
do feel like it gives a little bit more exposure

(01:10:55):
to the first round and also more exposure to the
second and, Third ROUNDS so i kind of. DIG it
i just hate the eight o'clock, start TIME and i
hate all the time. BETWEEN picks i wish they could
move it along a little. Bit faster taking a look
though at some of the projections of how the draft will.

(01:11:20):
Likely go and for many years, you know of course
you only Had mel kipers, Draft analysis but NOW with
ai and all of, those things plus the additional individuals who,
cover it you can look at like a mock simulator

(01:11:44):
tool OF the, nfl draft and they've got it where
you can pick, your team load the, draft class pick,
three rounds and then it'll set it all off. For
you like there's so much cool stuff that you can.

(01:12:05):
Do nowadays but here's HOW The Nfl draft predictor actually,
projects things and it'll lay it out for you. By
player so if you want to go in and pick
a Guy Like, travis hunter the Chances That travis hunter

(01:12:25):
is taken first is under. Five percent the Chances That
travis hunter is taken second is upwards of fifty. Two
percent the chances that he has taken third thirty. Five

(01:12:48):
percent and so they've got it laid out for all of.
These names you know where these guys will. Likely go
you can pick. The play it'll show you just how
far they think. THEY'LL slide, i mean the analysis and

(01:13:08):
the insight that you can now get from the Analytics Of,
draft day it's it's almost way, too much almost way.
Too much, but anyway here's how, ESPN's analytics how it
breaks Down the draft day selection. Is going with almost a,

(01:13:28):
NINETY probability espn projects That the titans will be Taking
cam ward the second pick in, the draft, just barely,
just barely but It's Got travis hunter going To the
Browns Over, abdul carter the third pick in the draft

(01:13:54):
To The New. York Giants Assuming travis hunter gets taken
with the second pick would be by a Wide Margin.
Abdul carter the fourth pick Would Be, mason graham defensive
tackle Out. Of Michigan mel kiper has him as the.

(01:14:16):
Fifth pick in, this scenario he would be going as
the fourth pick To The New england Patriot The New,
england patriots and then the fifth pick would Likely Be
will campbell offensive tackle To The. Jacksonville jaguars so a
unique way to look at it breaks it down across,

(01:14:37):
the board you could kind of get an idea of
where you think each and every player may go by percentage.
Chance taken you can look at it even. By player
so let's say again that, You, said swanny what do
you Think About? Shadoor sanders, you know where do You
think shadoor ends? UP going i can tell you that

(01:15:03):
ESPN's analytical draft analysis puts the chances that he has
picked first at less than, one percent the chances that
he has picked ninth By The New orleans saints as
the highest Chance For shador sanders at nearly twenty, six

(01:15:25):
percent all the way to the point you, might say
well that's not a, Big, Percentage swanee, You're correct but
you can slide it all the way out to the twenty,
first pick Where the steelers could potentially take him if. He's,
available now they say the chances that he'll be available
at even number nineteen is less than, Three percent so

(01:15:53):
to think he's gonna be and nineteen Is The Tampa.
Bay buccaneers to think he's gonna be there at twenty
one even less, Than that his drop off though. Doesn't
hit he doesn't fall under fifty percent until that, Tenth
pick so most people thinking that he's gonna likely, be
taken or at least this analytical, you know the way

(01:16:15):
they look. At It shador sanders goes with the ninth
pick at this point To. The saints but ACCORDING, to
espn and as, you know this is a chance to
try to maneuver your roster a. Little bit and according,
to Sources The cleveland browns And The New york giants
are fielding trade inquiries for their early picks IN the.

(01:16:38):
Nfl draft and no matter how many times you slice
it and dice it and look at it and analyze
it and go through and what's the old rule in
in in woodwork measure twice, cut once if these teams
do move, these picks and then that forty eight hours,

(01:17:00):
or so it could completely change everything we think about
what this draft might. Look like and to think about
the time spent right by Guys like kiper and others
going through and trying to piece together the best. Case
scenarios only to have the room remodeled two days before

(01:17:21):
you get to the table is wild to. Think about,
but yeah lots of ways to look. At it from,
ESPN's analytics i'll tell you where the best Projected former
tiger is going right, After this.

Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
What have you done for? Me lately it's a. Fair
question just don't lose sight of the. Bigger picture.

Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
Don't.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Forget history lucky for Us, at clemson the answer to
the questions what have you done for? Me lately and
what have? You done always are. The same.

Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
We.

Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
Win sometimes.

couldn't find one that would allow me to look. At
it in, THAT regard i could only see the players

(01:19:57):
looking at, each TEAM which i don't know how beneficial
that is to, you guys because obviously they're kind of
all over. The map but The only clemson PLAYERS that
i saw drafted In The mott draft with what like
two hundred and forty seven. Semi picks The only TIGERS

(01:20:24):
that i saw off the BOARD. WERE. R, j MICKENS
who i saw was a late pick round seven pick
twot twenty two To The Las. VEGAS raiders i Also
Saw jake brenningstool come off the board To The Los
angeles chargers in the sixth round with the two hundred and. Ninth,

(01:20:45):
Pick Additionally barrett carter come off the board in the
fourth round with the one hundred and thirty first pick
To The New. Orleans saints and that. Was it the
ONLY thing i, did, notice though kind of looking at the,
entire draft was a Lot Of south, carolina players a
lot of. Game cocks might Explain Why south carolina came

(01:21:09):
away with a Victory against clemson last. Football Season and
i'm sure The game cocks listening to the program are
excited about that that we at least still have to
talk about that For, until november.

Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
So you could continue to peek over the fence at
the best radio showing The.

Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
NAKED but i Didn't, SEE MafA i Didn't See, peyton
PAGE and i Didn't See. Marcus tate so just those
three guys, Bringing Stool barrett Carter. And mickens so just
half of the guys that you know have. Draft eligibility
now what you will see if that is, The case,

(01:21:46):
You know MafA and, these guys, they'll sign, you know
free agent contracts and they'll give themselves a chance to
try to make a roster at some point along. The way,
but yeah just a couple, of guys, you know three
guys being taken in the mock DRAFT that i. SAW

(01:22:06):
