What are Houston's headlines?
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Good morning home room. It was not a great day
on Wall Street yesterday. A lot of tech stocks plummeted
throughout the day. The reason behind a lot of that
was last week's launch of the Chinese AI software Deep Seek. Navidia,
a company that had been at the top of the
AI game, lost six hundred billion dollars in value, which
is the single largest one day loss for a company
in the history of the stock market. President Donald Trump
(02:27):
called it a wake up call for our industries and
said that we quote need to be laser focused on
competing to win in the future.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Google says that it.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Plans to use Trump's new names for the Golf of
Mexico and the Nali and its new Google Maps update.
They claim that they will update the maps to show
the golf of America and Mount McKinley. An executive order
signed by President Trump on January twentieth ordered the US
Interior Secretary to make the name changes within thirty days
of that order.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Google says that it has.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
A long standing policy of applying name changes when they've
been updated in official government sources. So we will see
the Gulf of America on our newest Google maps. That'll
be wold, pretty wild, That's wild.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Who would have thought? Who would have thought?
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Super Bowl tickets have gotten out of hand over the years,
but tickets for this year's Super Bowl are a little
bit cheaper than last year's Big Game still, though some
of the most expensive and Super Bowl history. Average ticket
prices are around eight thousand dollars, while the cheapest tickets
as of yesterday were more than fifty seven hundred dollars.
Super Bowl fifty nine is going to be on Sunday,
February ninth in New Orleans between the Chiefs and the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Back what I thought I was going to the game? Now, Alex,
you know remember a couple of days.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Ago, Yeah, just like two days ago Sunday.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, there were tickets on sale sixty three hundred dollars
was the cheapest one I could find. Oh wow, Percy
sixty three hundred.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Pretty prices just to get just to get in there,
all right. Roseanne Barr is working on a news show.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
It'll be about a small town or small town Alabama farmers, who,
Roseanne says, will quote save America with guns, the Bible,
petty crime, and alcoholism. She called it across between Roseanne
and the Sopranos. That show does not have a home yet,
but Roseanne says that if Hollywood doesn't buy it, she'll
just make it herself.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
We's been in the headlines a lot lately.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah, Well Trump's her guy. Yeah, so she feels like
she's got a big comeback. Staged Blake.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
What eighty two are trying to do their part to
help out the victims of the LA wildfires. Yesterday, the
band announced a one night only benefit show, with one
hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales going to
the Pasadena Humane Society, the California Fire Department, the LAFD Foundation,
and the.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
ARC Firefighter Fund.
Speaker 3 (04:32):

the Hollywood Palladium. Tickets are on sale now and are

than a second left to go to give the Rockets
to win. Thompson had a career high thirty three points

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Angel looks like Angel got through first Good morning, Good morning,
Hi Angel? How are you today?
Speaker 4 (09:16):
I'm doing great?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
How are you awesome? What are you doing up so early?
Speaker 4 (09:20):
I'm going to work right now.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
What do you do? Angel? I'm doth care? What is it?
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Plant healthcare?
Speaker 7 (09:28):
Okay, like rediviz plants inject trees and stuff.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Really does the covering? I don't know if this is
the right question to ask you, but when you see
all these people, I didn't cover my plants. My stuff
looks just the same as my neighbors that all covered
up their stuff. Do you need to cover your plants
when we have these freezes? For real? Does it do anything?
Speaker 7 (09:51):
It's usually helps just with the burning if you don't
want to get plants.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
To die so fast.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, it does help.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
It does help for.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
A uh than dying and like just drying out and everything.
Oh dude, I don't know. I've wrapped before, I've lost stuff.
I've not wrapped before I've lost stuff. All right, Well,
how you gonna get started today? Angel? What do you
want to what do you want to get into this morning.
It's up to you.
Speaker 8 (10:18):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
I'm here for whatever, you're here for whatever. Okay, Well,
that's about the extent of my plant questions. I don't
have anything else with plants. I really don't. Hey, when
you buy plants like flowers, I I have been told
(10:39):
that you put an aspirin in the water when you
buy plants. Is that true? Is that a real thing?
I'm not too sure.
Speaker 9 (10:47):
I'm more so.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
I have one question about flowers, and that's all I got. Angel,
I got one thing to ask you.
Speaker 7 (10:56):
I'm more of the fertilizing guy.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Okay, Angel, thank you for being up early with us
to them. Did you ever hear that else? You know
they give you a little plant for when you buy
something you buy your girl flowers, I know that you
get the little packet of stuff to put in there.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
So that's basically just aspirin.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
I was told to put an aspirin in there too, okay,
along with the little powder. Yeah, dude, Yeah, So I
always like that when like if you're you're putting the
vase the vase together and she comes home and you're like, oh, yeah,
I'm just putting this and it's gonna make.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
It last a little longer.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
I was the one that came up with the idea
to do that, like I brought. I bought the powder myself. Yeah,
or if it's like fresh flowers and it was just
tied to it with a rubber band.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
So does anybody Okay, well, Angel doesn't know about the
aspirind thing.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
I'm gonna start doing that. I'm gonna buy flowers a day,
throws some mastering that baby.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Will never know. On the flip gott a rec check
for you. We'll find out what's trending, and then we'll
get set up for the Fresh out of Bed Rocky and.

Twenty percent chance of rain today and tonight cloudy skuys
highs of around sixty one. What's trending over there?
Speaker 3 (13:02):
All right, let's try this deep seek it's trending. Well,
I'm a dumb I did report on this in the news,
and I still am kind of confused on It's AI.
It's an AI software from China, but it was made
cheaper than the US AI software, so it's causing the
AI software companies in the US to crash their stock
(13:22):
space where it.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Costs billions of dollars to create some of this American AI.
This thing costs five million dollars to put together. Now
is it as good? I don't know, but everyone's looking
at it right now. So market went nuts yesterday.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Deep seek is what a lot of people are talking about.
Selena Gomez is also trending. She posted a video of
herself yesterday. She was crying in the video, but she
was talking about the immigration raids they are going on
and just how upset it makes her. That video has
since been deleted, but it was on the internet, so
it will live forever.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
It's people were going after saying, you know, the people
that they're deporting right now are ones with warrants.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Yeah, but she spoke out on that, and so that's
trending right now. And then also Aman Thompson of the
Rockets is trending. He had a career night last night,
thirty three points and hit a bait. It was wasn't
a buzzer beater because there were point seven seconds left,
but he hit a shot with less than a second
left to give the Rockets to win over the Celtics.
They've now beaten two of the top three teams in
the league three times.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
And last week.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Uh, those are that's what's trending on night before the
buzz Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Why is the carpet all wet?
Speaker 8 (14:25):

work too, You made him work. Why is the carp
(19:03):

Good morning, busy day yesterday for you or it's an
average day for you at the desk. I mean it
was a little busy. Yeah, I mean, just we don't always.
(22:28):
Headlines are rarely what happened in the stock market on
the show, you know, but it was there was quite
a few stocks that were out. Matter of fact, that
Dow was up very well. I saw that. All right, Well,
I can't wait for your segment. I'm excited, so excited.
I'm always excited to see you, bro.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
The very first Got Milk ad was directed by none
other than Michael Bay. Yeah, Michael Bay, Transformers guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tell me if you remember this commercial the history expert
has to answer who shot Alexander Hamilton to win this
(23:07):
radio contest. He's on the phone and he can't say
Aaron Burber because he's been eating peanut butter and that
was like you got milk because he was all gummed
up with peanut butter. Do you remember that TV commercial
that was Michael Bay that did that. You remember that? Yes?
Speaker 7 (23:20):
I do.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Yeah. The guy, he's like on the phone and he
can't talk and you can hear the DJ screaming at him.
In the X Men movie in two thousand, the mansion
where Professor Xavier lived and trained all the mutant students
is the same mansion where they filmed Billy Madison. It's
(23:44):
a huge estate. It's called Parkwood Estate and it's just
outside of Toronto, Canada. I be you not been there.
It's Canada is very vast. It's a it's a very
large land, lot of people. I don't know everything every
square inch and I'm not from there. Fun fact that's
(24:05):
a free one today.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
I've seen no certificate.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
I can't wait. I can't wait for all you whiskey
guys to shoot me an email this morning. The word
whiskey itself. I hope I'm turning you onto a little something.
The word whiskey itself comes from the Gaelic phrase that
translates to water of life. That's neat. If I have
(24:29):
nerdy friends that are doing this now, that's the cool
thing not to do is like is they have a
whole cabinet full of whiskeys. That's It's like people are.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Collecting drink it. You're just like, well, this one is yeah,
it was barrel aged.

Get your back?
Speaker 1 (25:08):
What city? What California city is named after? Medieval English
beavers seven one three two one two five nine four five.
We learned that yesterday.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
It's now time for rock out with your stock out
with Captain Cash.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Yeah, it wasn't this like super horrible day as the
headlines read. It's just the tech stocks and all this
A stuff that or AI stuff that none of us
know about. That's the stuff that was all going squirrely yesterday.
But can't wait to hear what you got over there.
Uh have been doing Wall Street yesterday.
Speaker 10 (25:38):

you guys got after those nine dollars forty five cent tickets.
I'll give away a four pack of Monster Jam tickets
for the Sunday show closer to around seven twenty nineteen.
Nails tickets at eight twenty and right now Alex with
Houston's headlines.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Well, good morning everyone, Good morning home room. It was
not a great day on Wall Street yesterday.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
A lot of tech stocks plummeted throughout the day. The
big reason behind that was a lot of last week's
launch of the Chinese AI software Deep Seek. Navidia is
a company in the US that's been at the top
of the AI game. It lost six hundred billion dollars
in value, which is the single largest one day loss
for a company in the history of the stock market.
President Donald Trump called it a wake up call for
(28:44):
our industries and said the quote, we need to be
laser focused.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
On competing to win.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Immigration and Customs enforcement continued to make arrests yesterday. One
and seventy nine undocumented immigrants were taken into custody just
alone yesterday. According to Mexico's president Claudia Scheinbaum, her country
received over four thousand immigrants who have been deported since
January twentieth, when Trump was inaugurated. Trump did say that
it's not just illegal immigrants he wants gone. He also
(29:12):
says that he wants to deport criminal offenders who are in.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
The US legally.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Into some lighter news, A lot of people are worried
about getting enough exercise these days. But here are some
everyday activities that you can do to get your heart
rate up.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
That also will count as exercise.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Things like taking the stairs, gardening, doing laundry, carrying shopping bags.
Come on, doing laundry is not like I mean, I
guess you're moving around a little bit. More so, if
you got stairs, you got to carry a laundry basket
up and down there, then you can put them away.
You got multiple kids, you'd have to put all that
stuff away.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Okay, I just don't want to hear somebody saying they
did a load of laundry and I also got my
workout in. Come on. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
But so basically researchers did this.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
According to this study, as long as you you bursts
of one minute or longer in these activities, it gets
your heart rate up. So that can burn some calories
and that can be a light amount of exercise. And
I know a lot of people are busy, so just
do an extra load of laundry.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Like, look, I got a little work out it. Hey,
I met a turkey sandwich today. I burned two calories.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Well, making turkey sandwiches does not count.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
But like cleaning the house in general, mopping, sweeping, yeah,
you're you're doing a little cardio work right there. Pushing
a vacuum, get the heaviest vacuum you can find.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Just push that dude. Swiffering swiffering, Yeah, swiffering, I get
the wet swiffer, I get the bona out And that's
a bit of a workout.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
So like there's little things like that. But I think
taking the stairs. We used to do that the old
building when we had stairs. We don't have stairs anymore,
I don't think. But that was a really great way
to like just kind of feel like you were exercising
without really exercising. As long as your heart rates up
for a minute or longer, you can count as exercise.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
It says carrying your shopping bags in come on, But.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
I think do you do one trip?
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Because I live on the fourth floor of an apartment,
and I'm not going to make multiple trips. I gotta
load my arms up with all all the groceries. Sometimes
you got some cans with you, so you throw those
like under your arm, and then you're like, I got
I got a buzz into my gate. I got a
buzz into my front, like elevator room, gotta get up there.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Do you look at your cart and say, I'm at
the limit, I can't carry anymore?
Speaker 2 (31:14):
No, no, I don't.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
So that doesn't dictate how much you put in your cart.
You just shop for what you need and then you
just find a way.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
I'm a man. Okay, take this in one trip.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Okay, good.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
That's how it works.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Mentalfloss dot com is put together a list of movies
that they feel like, define gin z, what movies would
you imagine?
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Because I had no idea what it would have been.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Well, number one I don't know was Spider Man Homecoming,
followed by the hate you give, then call me by
your name, Moonlight, I Believe one an Academy Award, and
then scrolling down, It's clueless was in at number six.
That's a movie from nineteen ninety five that's making a
movie like this is movies that define gen Z.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Don't you feel like that would be a millennial movie?
Speaker 2 (31:59):
I think get Wick. Yeah, I definitely think it would.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
The Hunger Games also defines gen Z. Get out the
Truman Show a little bit before their time.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Gen z ers don't know the Truman Show.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
I understand.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
True, this is not a good.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Dune with Timothy Shallow May, Okay, I'll give him that.
I'll give him that.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
I feel like gen Z they're super into Disney, like
they never got out of it, Like it's still cool
to be older and into Disney. So maybe some of
the Disney stuff they watched.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
But I do like The Spider Man Homecoming because, like
my as a millennial, my spider Man was Toby McGuire.
You guys, you know how big of a superhero guy
I am, and I will always say, Toby maguire is
spider Man.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
I'm not talking superheroes with you, Okay, well, yes, because
you're not edgity, we'll talk about band t shirts.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Yeah, So are all those band t shirts that your
your husband and wife, Like, why.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Do you have so many of these? Well, they might
be a little bit valuable. Maybe you could sell some
of them make a little coin. Someone did a study
on which bands have the most valuable shirts. It analyzed
over eighty four thousand bands and artists the shirts on
their resale market. So these aren't bought at the concert.
These are resold online. That's how they looked at this.
According to the study by spreadshirt dot com, the artists
(33:04):
with the highest average resale value are Nirvana at number one.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
But these are actual concert shirts.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Yeah, they are there, You've gotten from a concert, but
you're reselling it. You're not buying it at that current concert. Yes,
that so Nirvana's average is two hundred and seventy nine
dollars for resale Nirvana shirt.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Yeah, Like, I have a Nirvana T shirt, but it's
not a it's not a from a concert, you know,
it's probably from Target. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Like, but you would think though, like a bandit's not
touring anymore, that's gonna be higher up.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
But Red Hot Chili Peppers was number two.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Two hundred and forty one dollars is the average on
a resold Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Okay, and it's not going to be their latest tour.
It's gonna be some early stuff that's out there.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
And then also on the list, Guns n' Roses was
at number five, Green Day was at six, Pearl Jam
was at nine, earth Wind and Fires on the list.
I was a little bit surprised with that, and Xxx
Tentacon the Rapper was number ten on the list, So.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
I would never guessed that that would have been a
top ten.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
I know you don't go out seeking it, but have
you ever personally met anybody that saw Nirvan alive? Think
about it?
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Yeah, that's why the shirts worked so much.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
But yeah, they didn't play a lot. If I didn't
have a ton of merch, they probably whatever.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
That's why I hate my neighbor. My neighbor Matt saw
them live. They opened up Frost, They opened up for
some band in Australia, and he's like, yeah, they were
a mess. He goes, nobody cared I.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Would have a su the Kurt would have Narian gone
to Austria.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
He threw that out one time. I said, you saw
Rvana live? He said, yeah, of course, a bad ass. Yeah,
you don't meet a lot of people that saw him.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Those are Euston's Headlve now into sports. Rockets got another
dub last night. They got by the Celtics one fourteen
to one to twelve. Amen Thompson hit a jumper with
less than a second left to go to give the
Rockets to win. Thomson had a career high thirty three
points to night. Rockets have now won three in a row.
Tonight they're gonna be in Atlanta to take on the Hawks.
Tip Off is at six thirty and you can listen

they were going for nine dollars and forty five cents.

doing here? I mean, we've still got we got three hours.
We got Monster Jam tickets that we're going to give

(36:25):

about that. Chili is inviting you to sign up if
you would like to come down to the station and
play read my lips on Thursday. Hey, things have worked
out pretty good. It all started remember Lindsay, Yeah, who
can forget? She was an ogi, she was the pioneer.
(36:48):
She came down and then Craig. So Lindsay played you. Yeah,
three weeks ago, Craig came in and beat Chili. Right,
Chelsea was in last week she lost to you.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
It game.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
It was close. Yes, she did really well. Everybody sent
me really nice follow up emails and thanking you know,
for allowing them to come in and hang out. They
were so great. They were so great, So we're looking
for another awesome person. Chili has the application up on
the world famous Rod Ryan Show page at the buzz
dot com. So that's on links and guests. I have
(37:23):
not gone to see your bright, smiling faces. I'm let
me just ask Chili, dude, dude. Did did ten more
people go up on the on the beer board? Yes?
Speaker 6 (37:33):
They should have gone up early this morning.
Speaker 1 (37:36):

in a couple less than two weeks now, and someone's
going to win five hundred dollars at the end of
the first, second and third quarter, and then someone's gonna
win another five honey on the final score. And then
there's an additional five honey that is available just for
(38:23):
signing up. There's another spot. It says, hey, after you've
sent us your picture, click here and you might win
another five hundred. So we got twenty five hundred dollars
that we're gonna give to you thanks to our friends
over at car Box. So check to see if you
made the beer board. If you haven't sent in a
photograph yet, do that and then mile me. You gotta
sign up for Mila Me.
Speaker 2 (38:40):

Speaker 4 (38:42):
All right?
Speaker 1 (38:43):

and then we'll get your Monster Jam tickets Rock.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
And alternative to The Rod Ryan Morning Show six to

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Now he's talking about us. That's us right here. Good morning.
I hope you're an always every We hope you're off
to a great start to your day. So appreciative that
you start your day off with us. Tat Tuesday doesn't
look bad. Bought a twenty percent chance of rain, cloudy skies,
highs of around sixty one. Yeah, I got Monster Jam
(39:15):
tickets coming up for you. This is where I asked
Alex what's trending? And if you don't mind, I'd like
to kind of hop in here, go off for a second.
Let's not forget. Today is the day that Waterburger is
offering up that free chicken biscuit. Yeah, Landy Wilson, Yeah,
tell him, Laney Sancha, I don't know if I don't
know if Joel Gonzalez did that, but Joel wanted to
(39:37):
let me know he heard it on our show and
he field tested it. He went and got his free
chicken biscuit. He sent a photograph. So yesterday we kind
of talked about Landy Wilson. I think she was headlining
the Looking at Girls blog page. She's been announced as
the new brand ambassador for Waterburger. I can't imagine hiring
somebody better here in Texas me either, So you know
she was talking about it yesterday. And then if you
(39:58):
go to Waterburger, y, Yeah, there's no hoops to jump through.
It does say tell them Laney senscha. But I imagine
if you don't, they're going to give you just try
to get you in and out of there. But yeah,
free chicken biscuit today at the.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Area water Burgers have to stop by ona home.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah, if you do get one, let you know, take
a picture if we want to see your bright tomorrow
and face with how happy you are with that free
water Burger.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Okay, what else is trending? Boston earthquake is trending.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
Did you know there was a three point eight magnitude
earthquake in the Boston area yesterday? Well when you heard it,
say what, I guess not? People will felt it all
the way up into Maine. So in the whole New
England area, I guess they were rocked by an earthquake.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Okay, everybody's okay.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
And then Google Maps is also trending they are. We
talked about this earlier in headlines, but they are going
to officially rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf
of America and their next update that they're putting out,
they're waiting on the government to make it official. But yeah,
Trump wanted to call it the Gulf of America and
it looks like that's gonna happen now.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
He said that at the inauguration and I don't know,
they just happened to have a camera on Hillary and
she giggled when he said it.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
He started kids like, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
There's he's going through with this stuff. He said he's
gonna do. Okay, So Monster Jam weekend here in Houston,
Saturday and Sunday, The rod Ryan Show, Monster Damn Truck,
Grave Digger, that new classroom Crusher. I think it's a
bus because of that. Yeah, it's pretty neat. So we've
(41:26):
got tickets right now. I've got a four pack of
tickets for you and the Fam for Sunday Energy Stadium.
If you'd like these tickets, come get them. Seven one, three, two, The.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
Rod Ryan Show, Good Mornings on the.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Fun, ninety four five The Bus, Good Morning, rod Ryan's Show,
See the chair cover of Careless Whisper. Yeah, Rob Ryan Show,
Happy tattoosday everyone, seven twenty chance of rain today, Claudie Skuys.
We'll get up into the sixties today. I'm here for that.
(42:01):
Good morning. This is David. Yes, sirs, what do you want?
What do you want? Who gave you my number? How'd
you get this number?
Speaker 4 (42:10):
Some crazy guy named Chile.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Oh my god, Chili does get the He's loose on
that number. Loose as a goose. David, your color number ten.
I'm gonna give you toss to Monster gam this Sunday
at Energy Stadium. It's it's a four pack of tickets
with pit passes.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
Okay, awesome, Thank you so much, brother dude.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Thank you. I appreciate you being on the show today.
Personal question, do you have a second?
Speaker 6 (42:34):
Yes, sir?
Speaker 1 (42:36):
How many? Just ballpark here looking for a number. How
many band T shirts do you own? David?
Speaker 4 (42:47):
I would say approximately ten.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
Any duplicates?
Speaker 2 (42:53):
Yes, well, bab myself as well as you. I'm a
huge Kiss fan.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
Oh my god, I am ten Kiss T shirts.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
I went through a house fire years ago and I
lost all my originals from the ages and stuff, but
I still have.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
Several hits the man. I'm so sorry to hear that.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
Yeah, so you think you're you're sitting at about ten
ten band T shirts. They don't have to be necessarily
from a concert, but you right now you got about.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Ten, I'd say so, yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
All right, brother, Thank you man, Hey Monster Jet.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
Thank you again.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Have a great time out there. Thank you, David. Our
friend Pat Morera has seen Nirvana. Oh really yeah, yeah, yeah,
I got yeah, yeah, because that's come up before. I
say that from time to time on the show. It's like,
you don't meet a lot of people that saw Nirvana live.
Pat great emailer, and he comes out to a lot
(43:45):
of our events. You got a link up today. The
most valuable T shirt out there, And again it plays
into the fact that not a lot of people have
seen Nirvana live. If you have a vintage, actual Nirvana
T shirt from a concert, that's getting the most money
out there. Yeah, that's getting the most money. Chili Pepper's
guns and Roses on there. Green Day Pearl Jams, some
(44:09):
of those old Pearl Jam T shirts.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
They're like over one hundred dollars for those shirts.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
Yeah. Yeah, if you go out to La you go
to these vintage stores. A friend of mine, it was
from LA. He got into some trunk store thing whatever.
They unearthed all of this Bill, all this Bill Graham stuff.
Bill Graham was this legendary concert promoter and he called
me up. He's like, dude, I got some kiss T
(44:33):
shirts that these are original, These are from concerts from
back in the day.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
I sent them a five hundred dollars check and he
sent me like a bunch of T shirts. They're all
like original vintage shirts. So I get there's but I
guess you can go somewhere and get them looked at
to see what's authentic and what's not. Guns and Roses.
T shirts go for a lot of money. The number one,
the Grateful Debt, has the highest valued T shirt out there.
(44:59):
It's so rare. It's from nineteen ninety four. It's got
a large black panther on the front of it. It
sells for up to twenty seven and fifty dollars. Listen,
if you can collect whiskey bottles, we talked about that
earlier today. You can collect T shirts, okay, but the
long sleeve Nirvana shirt from their in Utero tour, it's
about a two thousand dollars T shirt if you find it.
Speaker 2 (45:21):
That's insane. If you see it out there, somebody's just
sitting on a gold mine.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
How many concert t shirts? Not concert t shirts? But again,
I'll it's okay. If you buy that sublime shirt from Target,
I'll count that.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:33):
How many band T shirts you own?
Speaker 4 (45:36):
Oh? Hi?
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Fifteen?
Speaker 1 (45:39):
Ten to fifteen?
Speaker 5 (45:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (45:41):
What's your twin got.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
Chili has? I would say Chill is like five.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Maybe I don't see him as they wear band shirts.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
He does have the ride Ryan Bake Rockfest? Does that count?
Speaker 1 (45:55):
No band shirts? Chili has. It's gotta seeing Tanna shirt,
doesn't he.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
You didn't cheat? And Chong put up music too? Does
that count as a band shirt?
Speaker 1 (46:06):
I don't know if he can count that the caricature
of cheating chalk chilly. How many band shirts do you want?
Speaker 6 (46:11):
About? Maybe ten?
Speaker 2 (46:13):
Ten?
Speaker 6 (46:14):
I got a let me see, I've got a Deaftones, okay, Limbiscuit.
When they came to the House of Blue.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
You bought a shirt from the show?
Speaker 6 (46:21):
Yeah, okay, I got Well, I got some Selena shirts,
but they can get them at concerts.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
That's a band shirt though, it's that counts.
Speaker 6 (46:32):
I had a Nirvana do some Roses tests.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
A bought me a Britney Spear shirt.
Speaker 2 (46:37):
That counts, right, that does count.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
Oh man, I've got a Metallica. Okay, you got some
shirts over there.
Speaker 6 (46:45):
I got some shirts. They just don't fit me.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
I got a Sublime Oh I know I've seen the
Sublime one. Yeah, they just.
Speaker 6 (46:50):
Don't fit me anymore. So brain, I've got a Prince.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
I probably have ten Kiss shirts. I tell you ten
Motorhead shirts. Easily, ten Motorhead shirts.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
It's bad.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
It's bad at my house.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
But it's like what you like I and are these
are these Kiss specific shirts? Are the concert shirts? Because
I always don't like if it's got the sum or
the tour dates on it and stuff. I don't like
buying those shirts as much as I like just buying
like the band logo.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
We don't like the list when that list the show
that you were not not as much.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
I have bought those before, but I will typically just
be like, give me the band logo. It's a concert
shirt I got at a concert. But like I when
I saw the Black Keys a couple of years ago,
I really I thought they had really cool merch. But
I did not like the one with all the cities
that they toured too.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
The biggest march line I ever saw in my life,
Guns n' Roses was probably second. The biggest merch line
I've ever seen in my life ac DC the stadium shows.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
And the Metallica ones. They were having pop ups and everything.
I know.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
I don't know what it is. Chicks love wearing a
I don't know if they love ac DC, but they
love wearing ACDC stuff and ac DC at a concert.
They sell those blinky devil horns. Everyone's got them on,
everyone has them on, brilliant. I don't know what it is.
I've I've seen the merch lines at Guns n' Roses,
I've seen the merch lines at Metallica and every show.
(48:23):
It's crazy now. I don't think I've ever seen a
longer merch line than ac DC ever. Ever. I got
a pull question today. Put up a pull question this morning.
How many band T shirts do you own? They don't
have to be concerts specific. Fifty five percent of our
audience says one to five, Eleven percent of our audience
says six to ten, three percent, eleven to fifteen, thirty
(48:46):
percent of our audience has sixteen or more concert shirts.
That's more like it. That sounds about right. Hit us
up on the x tick our poll question.
Speaker 6 (48:54):
The rod Ryan Show on.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
Buzz ninety four or five The Buzz Good Morning rod
Ryan's Show. Yeah, I remember back in the day, a
long time ago, I gave my dad an Offspring T
shirt that I got from the radio station. Obviously my
dad was still around, and it was when I just
kind of started working in radio. And I've told the story, like,
you know, my dad really kind of wanted me to
go to work with him and work in the factory,
(49:20):
and I kind of let him down trying to do
this radio thing. And then when I finally got on
the radio, he, you know, he thought it was cool.
He thought it was really cool. So my dad's wearing
this Offspring T shirt, he tells me, and he must
have been getting some food from a counter somewhere and
the kids making his chipotle bowl, his salad whatever, and
the kids like, oh, you like the Offspring Like my dad, like,
(49:42):
my dad was just a dad.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
You know.
Speaker 1 (49:43):
They's got the doctor Phil Baldhead, you know, and my
Dad's like, oh, well, you know, I got this from
my son. Maybe you heard of him. My dad milked
being rod Ryan's dad more than anybody I've ever seen
in my life. Like he loved it. Thinking of he
was like, maybe get a deal on this, or maybe
you know a couple extra c utan's on a salad.
My dad didn't know the offspring from the Osmond's. Okay,
(50:04):
he didn't know any of that, but any opportunity that
he got to, like is somebody mentioned the shirt to
was like, oh, well, you know I got this from
my son. Maybe you've heard of Rob Ryan. You know
he's on the Fox or that was radio. Yeah, he's
he's on the edge, you know what I mean? You
ever heard of him as my kid? A dad? Laughable?
How he knew nothing about music? Dad's walking around with
(50:24):
an offspring T shirt? Perry Perry wants to know, dude,
I want to give you a number of the number
of concert shirts I have. But if you're pushing forty
and chubby and can't fit into them, can I still
count them.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
If you still have them in your closet or at
your house.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (50:43):
Let me tell you. When you look at a concert
shirt that maybe from a show that you went to
in high school, it looked like a like a baby
gap shirt. The shirts were so small back then. Oh
wait a minute, I was just small back then. I
don't know, I don't remember ever being that small. They
just shrunk over years. But shirts look like infant shirts.
(51:04):
That's the old concert shirts. They're tiny. I'm like, I
was never that small. There's no way I'd fit into
that thing. Ever, Yes you did, fat Boy, Yes you did.
And then Lisa, who works here, corrected me. She said, yeah,
all the bands you're mentioning with the long merch lines,
she said, I'm sure it's true. She said, nothing compares
(51:24):
to the lines at the Taylor Swift show.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
Yeah, that's gotta be sure.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
She's got to be the new champion of merch.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Even the my parents were in New Orleans the weekend
they she had that last New Orleans show she did,
and they said that they just had like merch like
trailers set up all pop up, just like well it's
Kyli like Metallica did, was like, just come get the stuff.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
We don't.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
You might not be going to the show everybody, but yeah,
by all the merch she can't. Don't worry, we'll still
sell that.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
I mean, Taylor Swift's broken every single record. I'm sure
she's broken the merchandise record too, So thank you. Lisa.
My pole question this morning, how many band t shirts
do you own? Most of our audience are in that
one to five, like you don't have a problem. You
have one to five. That's forty two percent of our audience.
Thirty five percent of our audience has sixteen or more.
We're on the x at rod Ryan Show.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
The rod Ryan Morning Show six to ten am.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
The Buzz ninety four five, The Buzz Mona skin Beggin
rod Ryan Show. On this Tattooesday, make sure you check
out the Tattooesday feature, the world famous rod Ryan Show
page at the Buzz dot com. Other things to do

Speaker 2 (53:01):
You can pretty much do anything on our website.
Speaker 1 (53:04):
Yeah, we have just about everything you can you can,
so just go to the Buzzdot off twenty percent chance
of rain today cloudy Sky's high sixty one, Alex says
Houston's headlines.
Speaker 3 (53:16):
Well, good morning everyone. It was not a great day
on Wall Street yesterday. A lot of tech stocks plummeted
throughout the day. The big reason behind a lot of
that was last week's launch of the Chinese AI software
Deep Seek. Navidia is a company that had been at
the top of the AI game of the United States.
They lost six hundred billion dollars in value, which is
the single largest one day loss for a company in
(53:36):
the history of the stock market. President Donald Trump called
it a wake up call for our industries and said
that quote, we need to be laser focused on competing
to win in the future. Google says that it plans
to use Trump's new names for the Gulf of Mexico
and the Nalli in its newest Google Maps update. They
claim that they will update the maps to show the
Golf of America and Mount McKinley. An executive order signed
(53:59):
by President Trump on January twentieth ordered the US Interior
Secretary to make the name changes within thirty days of
that order.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
Google says that it has.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
A long standing policy of applying name changes when they've
been updated in official government sources. All right, super Bowl
tickets have gotten out of hand over the years, but
tickets for this year's Super Bowl are cheaper than last
year's game. That does not mean that they are cheap.
They are still some of the most expensive in Super
Bowl history. Average ticket prices are around eight thousand dollars,
(54:27):
while the cheapest ticket as of yesterday was more than
fifty seven hundred dollars. Super Bowl fifty nine is going
to be on Sunday, February ninth in New Orleans between
the Chiefs and the Eagles, a rematch of Super Bowl
fifty seven.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Nobody cares, Nobody cares whatever.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
Sorry about that outburst the most stupid nobody cares. Sorry again.
I just can't cont I get it.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
And entertainment news, Roseanne bar is working on a new show.
It'll be about a small town Alabama farmer who Roseanne
says is going to save America with guns. The Bible
petty crime and alcoholism. She called to cross between Roseanne
and the Sopranos. That show does not have a home yet,
but Roseanne says that if Hollywood doesn't buy it, she's
just going to go on and make it herself.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Will you be watching hm?
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Nah?
Speaker 2 (55:11):
Probably not nah myself, nor will I.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
When she came off of Roseanne, that was the tweeting
on Ambient right allegedly, Yes, that was the whole thing. Yeah, okay,
So yeah, she's been off the television for a long time.
I know she's done appearances. I know she's done things
on podcasts. She was on fil Vaughan, she was on
a rap video. She did recently make a rent video
last week. I think Okay, Roseanne set for a huge
(55:35):
comeback this year.
Speaker 3 (55:36):
Blank Onwent A Two were trying to do their part
to help about the victims of the LA wildfires. Yesterday,
the band announced a one night only benefit show, with
one hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales going
to the Pasadena Humane Society, the California Fire Department, the
LAFD Foundation, the ARC Firefighter Fund. That show is going
to be on February thirteenth at the Hollywood Palladium. Tickets
are on sale now and using Ticketmaster's face value exchange
(55:59):
tool to protect the price is set by blinkin ay two.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Those are Euston's headlines.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
I don't know what I just I'm on Ticketmaster and yeah,
six thousand dollars. That's wild in those bleeds in the
super Dome. Six thousand dollars per seat.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
The guy's gonna look so small, but she'll be in
the house. You'll be in the house. Gues nobody cares, nobody, whatever, whatever.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
I can't it just falls out of my mind.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
Rockets.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Rockets very good right now.
Speaker 3 (56:27):
They got another dub last night, getting by the Celtics
one fourteen to one to twelve men. Thompson hit a
jumper with less than a second left to go to
give the Rockets to win. Thompson had a career high
thirty three points of the night. That guy, we're watching
him become a superstar. We're watching he said, he felt
like Kobe hitting the game winner right there. Yep, we're
watching him become an absolute superstar, and it's it's amazing
that he's on our team. Rockets have won three in
(56:49):
a row against two of the top three teams in
the league. Tonight, they're gonna be in Atlanta, taken on
the Hawks tip offs at six thirty, and you can
listen to that game on our sister station, Sports Talk
seven to ninety.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
That is what's going on in sports Houston's alternative and
the Rod Ryan Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (57:07):
Had part of the show. People, if we were five
to buzz, that's Lincoln Park. This is your Rod Ryan Show.
That's Alex right there. Chili, Hey, chill, he's right there. Okay,
Chili's holding down. He's got all that stuff for you
on links and guests today. He really is starting to
beat me up.
Speaker 9 (57:24):
Now.
Speaker 1 (57:25):
He's like, Rod, you have to tell single dudes to
apply for the mile of meat. Hey, single dudes, apply
for the mile of meat. It's not a Friday too, man.
That's awesome, so great mile of meat. On Friday. You
will be out on the roadside with Alex. We'll find
(57:47):
you a date. You will have that said date, that
blind date. You'll play some games, we'll have some fun.
We're working with the Creek Group right now to figure
out exactly where we're going to be. I'm told it's
a done deal, but I don't think the paperwork's been
signed yet, so you know we're gonna have a great
party on Friday night. And the fact that Valentine's Day
is on Friday. So much fun, so much fun. And
(58:09):
then I kind of let the cat out of the
bag a little bit. Teresa might actually work that morning
with us. I love that she might be on the
morning show when Alex is out there on the roadside.
She might come back and work that day with us,
just the one day. Trust me, she doesn't want this,
this gig back nothing over a twenty percent chance of ring.
(58:29):
Cloudy's Guy's highs of around sixty one. My friends from
back home, they're saying they're not watching the super Bowl.
I'm gonna watch the Super Bowl. I'm gonna hate watch it. Yeah,
Philadelphia Eagle, I mean, you can't not watch.
Speaker 2 (58:48):
The super Bowl, right, it's not American?
Speaker 1 (58:51):
Yeah, I mean, I know you hate the Eagles. I
don't care. The Eagles don't do They're not in my division.
They don't bother me. Okay. I know that the fs
are notorious Kansas City. I just that's it. It's enough's
enough with them. So I'm gonna watch. I want to eat.
I want to see the commercials. We've got some new
(59:11):
commercials up for you on links and guests. Julie's kind
of got an ongoing blog page when they release a
couple of new trailers or the full blown commercials. I know,
my man, Alex here, you like to wait before the game.
You like to wait and watch them during the game.
You don't like watching super commercials.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
If I watch them, I will watch them during the game.
I do not understand why.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
Like, that's what advertising is is trying to get like
we fight against that. Every time there's a YouTube video,
I will look away so I don't have to watch
the YouTube ad.
Speaker 1 (59:38):
Yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (59:39):
Gonna go out of my way to seek an ad
or a teaser.
Speaker 1 (59:43):
For an ad.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
Yeah, it's got this this superhero guy and I don't care.
Speaker 1 (59:47):
I like watching them. So we've got a running blog
page for that, I know. He added a few more.
I did not send a link to this. This was
from you can go look it up yourself. Mental Flaws
is the website, and they were talking about the most
popular Super Bowl foods that were going to be eating
during the game, not one state, because apparently, I mean,
(01:00:11):
something must have been funky about their analysis. They said
there were thirteen hundred possibilities, but every state had one
of fourteen foods as their number one. Pizza, wings, and
burgers were not the top food in any state. Okay,
so it's wrong. But they didn't say, Okay, outside of
pizza and wings, what's your number one food for the
(01:00:32):
Super Bowl? They didn't say that either. So I don't
know how they got this. There are give me some
give me some of the answers. Hot Dogs for Texas
number one Super Bowl food. Hot dogs in Texas. That's
not true. There's no way that's true. Buffalo chicken dip
is America's favorite Super Bowl food by a landslide. According
to these jokers. It's the top search dish in twenty
(01:00:55):
nine states. Now, I do like a Buffalo chicken dis
I make that. Yeah, I feel like I'm the guy
from Buffalo. If I'm going somewhere, I should bring a
Buffalo dip, you know, like I should bring that Buffalo
theme something you like, Buffalo chicken wing dip?
Speaker 8 (01:01:10):
I do?
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
How can you not?
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Some scoops, Yeah, scoops, that's the only way to go.
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
Baked potatoes were number one in the second most states,
with five Hey, come on, over.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
I got a Super Bowl party. I'm making baked potatoes
for the boys.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Montana. Apparently baked potatoes were
number one fried green tomatoes in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Mississippi.
Of course, you gotta be kidding me.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
No super Bowl parties can pleate without those fruit loops.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
Somebody's number one cheesy potatoes?
Speaker 8 (01:01:42):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Poke bowls? Deviled eggs, hot dogs in Texas? Here bake
zd Yeah, deviled eggs.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
What is this Eastern?
Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
So?
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
I am not including crawfichet t fe in Louisiana.
Speaker 4 (01:01:55):
No, no pizza?
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
What do you having?
Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
A pizza wings or one?
Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
Two?
Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
And it not even close?
Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
What would French fries? Maybe?
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
But pizza wings?
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
Pizza wings one yep, pizza wings.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Then go way way down the list. And then that's
where you get your dips burgers hot dogs.
Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
Then okay, will you make food or will you order food?
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
And deal with Sure?
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
What I'm doing hour and a half, hour and a
half to get something delivered on Super Bowl Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Yeah, you're gonna schedule it early. You could do that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
You probably not making anything, all right? Chilli? You cooking No,
maybe maybe he'll get wild and throw Christina. Miss Christina
will be cooking something.
Speaker 6 (01:02:40):
I'll just see one my neighbor Tony's doing. He used
to he does, like a brisket or something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
So I'm back in the day. You used to do briskets.
Speaker 6 (01:02:47):
Yeah, but then they got too expensive for me.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
Man, remember the days when you used to do some barbecuing.
I did.
Speaker 6 (01:02:56):
But but it's a Sunday and I'm probably gonna be
out by six thirty pm. I'm already preparing to go
to bed.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
And it's not gonna work the next morning like we
thought we might.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Jammie. Jammie's on and you are ty Ty six thirty
seven o'clock, You're you're going to bed? Yeah at the
super Bowl, Damn, I mean not. I mean it's your twin, Dude.
Speaker 6 (01:03:17):
I want I want the Eagles to win, but you're
a big Jalen Hurts guy.
Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:03:23):
And then I found out there's a uh, there's a
player from Katie, Texas who cares for the Eagles too.
So there's lots of players from Katie. But man, I
just don't want to be tired the next morning. But
you know, my body meets my body's my temple and
he needs his rest.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Oh we know your body, Yeah, we know your body chilling.
Speaker 6 (01:03:44):
The temple of a god, of a Buddha.
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):

talk about this. They came out with the Sexiest Jobs list.
Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
But even regardless, not on the list, damn it. Not
on the list, nor producer, nor host, nor somebody with
their show with their name on the show. None of
that was sexy. None of that was sexy. But what
does come up with Chilly just said dedication to your
job and having that combination of work life balance. Apparently,
I mean, we already knew how sexy the guy who asked,

and then she deleted the video. But it's online, so
it lives online.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
Yeah, and then and I think she has since commented
on that, but yeah, I mean, Selena Gomez everywhere. Yeah,

on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
She was, Yeah for a long time.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):

one point had not only the most followers on Instagram,
but the most likes on a post on a picture.
It was her in that CANAPEPSI. Yeah, it was like
the single biggest Instagram out there. So I get it.

the stock market to crash yesterday and six hundred billion

Your Mom's gonna poop. Yeah, I mean, I've been wanting
to win them for her, and she's been.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
Wanting to win them for me.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
They want to go together. I've grew up listening to
nine and Shoes with my mom.
Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
It's a new great ken Awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
That is so cool. That is so cool.
Speaker 4 (01:08:04):
You.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
I'm so excited. The girls going to see nine inch
Nail September twelfth, Toyota, Santa Jessica, you and your mom
have a great time. Well, thank you so much. I
really appreciate it. I appreciate you. Now, let me ask you,
just because I'm about to go into a different topic
here on the radio. Okay, is there okay? Well, first
things first, how many band T shirts do you own?
(01:08:26):
It doesn't have to be from a concert, it could be,
you know, just a band T shirt or whatever. How
many you think you own, if any at all?
Speaker 7 (01:08:33):
Probably Ken, most of them. I don't see them anymore.
Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
So I've got to restart.
Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
Okay, Yeah, yeah, ten T shirts. It's a big popular answer.
The most popular answer is one to five. That's over
fifty percent of our audience. Now, okay, and then the
next question, and here's what I'm about to talk about.
Is there a job that is there a sector of
workers that that job is sexier than others? Is there
(01:09:04):
one job that it's like, oh, man, I you know,
I'm always attracted to somebody that does this, or if
I could land somebody that does this.
Speaker 6 (01:09:12):
Man, I'm just happy if they have a job. Just say, okay,
that's it.
Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
Just having a job, Fellas, that's all Jessica requires. Just
have a job. Maybe maybe a few bucks in the bank,
and maybe you moved out of mom's house. All right,
thank you, Jessica. You and your mom have a great
time at nine is Nails. I think that's so cool.
Or Mom, we're gonna go to the show. This is
easy for me. When I think of jobs that chicks,
(01:09:38):
I think I'm not a chick, But to get into
the mind of a chick, it's a scary place to be.
I want someone that makes money that's sexy to them.
I think, dude that makes money like a doctor. It's
it's the money. It is a uniform. Yeah, are we ladies?
(01:10:00):
Am I wrong on this that a sexy job to
you is someone that makes a ton of money, but
notoriously soldiers completely underpaid. It's that damn uniform can't compete firefighters.
Do you all have to go to HB at the
same time to go and buy the meats and everything
else in your little tight T shirts. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
Their chicks are.
Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
It's where the chicks are. The chicks are. Someone pulled
two thousand single people to find the sexiest jobs in
twenty twenty five. They broke it down by industry. Healthcare
workers took the top spot. Doctors, nurses, any jobs in
medicine number one sexiest job. Nurses, of course, nurses. I
(01:10:47):
also have seen nurses on another list, little what's the list?
Pulling around a little bit. Yeah, there, I don't yeah,
I don't know exactly what that is. On call nurses.
I'm sorry. I'm sure you're all great. I have a
few friends, my kids. Godmother's a nurse, and I know
she's not cheating.
Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
But if the heads at your job they likeihood that
that that that could happen, it's probably gonna go up.
Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
Cannot compete with a doctor. You just can't. You just can't.
They're undefeated. They're absolutely undefeated. You're a doctor. Boom, you
just get you just get leg thrown at you all
the time. It's got to be the best. I'd go
out with my I'd go out.
Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
Of my scrubs all the time, you just gotta go
to medical school or sucks.
Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
I would totally like Travis used to come in here
to work years ago and you'd wear scrubs. I'm like, bro, scrubs.
Are you scrubbing in for a surgery or something?
Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
And he just just like I like, I like the fit.
Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
Education. So teachers, professors very sexy. Okay, teachers still make
a lot of money. Yeah, but there's something secretive about
teachers that they party. They party, there's like a behind closed.
I think teachers are wild. I think they get wild.
Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
They definitely did.
Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
They definitely get wild. It's hard for you to comment
because your mom grew up a teacher.
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
If my mom's friends did.
Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
Now, my mom is your mom wild?
Speaker 2 (01:12:14):
She's nice, her friends are wild?
Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
All right, Here comes the first responders, Here comes the guys.
Nine of them all have to go shopping together with
the big hook and ladder parked out front of AGV
firefighters in paramedics. I feel like, is this a true story? Alex.
I am grocery shopping. I have a guy come up
to me wearing a firefighter outfit and said he's friends
with you.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Yeah, my friend Jacob White did that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
Happen to me.
Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
Former Mile of Meat participant.
Speaker 1 (01:12:42):
Okay, yeah, that happened to me. Yeah, it's like, yeah,
I'm buddy's with Alex. I think you might have mentioned
that he was in the Mile of Meat.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
Every firefighter at everc's rod tell him you buddies or me,
not just that first responders.
Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
It's not clear if military fits in there, but I'm
gonna put military in there as well.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
They first respond to war. Yeah, so that's what we
first responded law.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Which includes lawyers and cops.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Is there all just fantasies, Yeah, it is. It's like
playing doctor, Oh the hot cop pulls you over. Oh no, okay,
hooking up with a teacher like that's all.
Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
That's all.
Speaker 1 (01:13:16):
This list is lawyers, judges in there.
Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
I sentence you to hard time.
Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
I'm gonna hold you in contempt yet, all right, Marketing
and sales in at five again. You're not going to
see any dork on the radio on this list. I
don't understand why science, tech, finance, but this is where
we have. There's good news here. Chili was talking about
(01:13:44):
going to bed. This is what made me think of
this topic. Chili said he was probably gonna go to
bet abound six thirty seven o'clock. Why during the super Bowl,
Because I want to be tired on Monday morning. Even
if your job isn't on the list, Radio dork is
not Being passionate about your career is sexy, according to
the poll five sexiest career values. Passion for what you're doing,
(01:14:07):
prioritizing good work life balance, trying to learn and improve,
working well with others, wanting to make a positive impact
on society. I mean, that's chilli all the way to
anybody on this show. It's a good thing that Miss
Christine has got him in lockdown. You know, yeah, he's
got all the trades, snatched up, got all doctors wouldn't
have a chance.
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
The Rod Ryan Show on ninety.
Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
Ninety four, The Buzz Screen Days, Good written time of
your life. They were on a list this morning. There's
a there's an interesting blog page up. It talks about
some of the most valuable concert t shirts, you know,
vintage T shirts, things that people still have laying around,
some old nerv of stuff is on the list, and
(01:15:02):
guns n' roses and what's the resale value of some
of these things. There's a Nirvana shirt and they did
come through here in Utero for in Utero, and I
was talking about Pat Morrero. Went. Another one of our
listeners said that he went to that show as well.
He said he may have even bought a T shirt.
If you've got the long sleeve T shirt from the
in Utero tour, that thing goes for upwards of two
(01:15:23):
thousand dollars, depending on you know what condition it's in.
I don't think they rate these things like baseball cards,
but I think it does probably way into what the
T shirt is worth. So we had a Nine Inch
Nails winner. It was Jessica, right, they just won tickets
and she said, oh my god, my mom and I've
been trying to win mom tickets. My mom's gonna ploop herself,
(01:15:46):
is what she said. So Sianta sends me an email
this morning. Yeah, She's like, hey, I'm going to find
a way to get into that show, Rod, even if
it's just one ticket to nine of Nails. I'm not sure.
I usually don't go to concerts, maybe one every five
years or so. So she asked me all these questions,
(01:16:06):
and you know, would you recommend to try to purchase
tickets to the band's website or what's Ticketmaster and she's
a longtime listener, she said, mostly in homeroom. And she
said she's sock sock, shoeshoe, whatever mood I'm in that morning.
So she's telling me this whole thing. This morning.
Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
She just.
Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Popped this email up to the top and said, Hey,
disregard my daughter, Jessica just won tickets. Yay, we're going nice.
So it's Jessica. And then her mom was emailing me
this morning already they won tickets. That's awesome, that's so cool,
so cool. Sexy jobs. John feels like, Hey, I'm in healthcare.
(01:16:48):
I deliver orthopedic implants. I'm part of the healthcare system.
He's feeling very sexy this morning. So sexy. We're talking
about the jobs that are deemed the most sexy. Janelle
is hospital jobs, Rod, you got it wrong, not sexy.
I don't know hospital jobs. Doctors. I'm much nurses and
(01:17:08):
doctors were named specifically. Hospital jobs are not sexy, Rod.
From a woman, I'll say it's the blue collar jobs
that are sexy as hell. Give it up for everyone
swinging a hammer this morning. Yeah, and most of my
friends will feel the same. My boyfriend is a journeyman
and man, a man that does skills or hard labor.
(01:17:30):
Now that is sexy. Okay, you're working today, I mean
real man's work. Janelle and her friends. That's the sexiest job. Yeah,
that's it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
I feel like radios and man's work. Think about it. Yeah,
you're getting real dirty over there today. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Just you break a nail on your keyboard.
Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
Yeah, and it's all greasy. It's a greasy keyboard, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:17:56):

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):

no one's nominated me. You know what, I'm gonna send
myself in. I'm like, hell, yeah, let's do it. Yeah
she's gonna be next week show. So we'll have a
local up there next week. Not taking away from today's
is awesome, but yeah, send yourself in. If no one's
gonna nominate, you take charge. Get your stuff out there, queen.
(01:19:15):
So yeah, so she's gonna be. I already told her.
I'm like, okay, next week. Done deal, Done deal. Twenty
percent chance of raking Claude's guys his today of around
sixty one, alternative income closer to around nine ten. We've
got Saint Vincent tickets for you on know the show.
And I got Alex, and I got Alex, I got
Alex right, saw you got Houston's headlines? What you got?
Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
Good morning everyone. It was not a great day on
Wall Street yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
A lot of tech stocks plummeted throughout the day, The
reason behind a lot of that was last week's launch
of the Chinese AI software Deep Seek. Navidia is a
company that had been at the top of the AI game.
It was a United States company. It lost six hundred
billion dollars in value yesterday, which is the single largest
one day loss for a company in the whole history
the stock market. President Donald Trump called it a wake
(01:20:02):
up call for our industries and said that we need
to be laser focused on competing to win in the future.
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
So NASDAK up a little bit, up twenty six points,
So that's good. I mean, it's gonna be a while
before we get all that money back.
Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
Well, this is when you would buy. You buy low, right,
and then you sell high.
Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
As a stock guy, I know that six.
Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
Hundred billion dollars in the video went down.
Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Will there be lower?
Speaker 1 (01:20:28):
Well, that's not true, that's not true. I don't know
if we want to be given that advice.
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
Yeah, true, don't don't take my advice is not official advice.
Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
All right, Well, we got a few arrows pointing in
the right direction. That's good. Amazon's up, Google's up. Some
of these things on the Nasdaq took a hit yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
Yeah, else well.
Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
Immigration and Customs enforcement continued to make arrest yesterday. One
and seventy nine undocumented immigrants were taken into custody alone yesterday.
According to Mexico's president, Claudia Scheinbaumber country has received over
four thousand migrants who have been deported since January twentieth,
when Trump took office. Trump did say that it's not
just illegal migrator immigrants he wants gone. He also said
(01:21:06):
that he wants to deport criminal offenders who are in
the US legally.
Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
This is what Selena Gomez was posting about yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
Yes, she was deleted, but it's still.
Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
Uph She deleted it. She was taking so much like, okay,
what else. A lot of people worry.
Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
About getting enough exercise these days, but here are some
everyday activities that can get your heart rate up and
count is exercise without you actually, you know, maybe considering
it exercise.
Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
Let me hear it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
Things like taking the stairs, gardening, doing laundry, carrying shopping bags,
and just cleaning the house in general.
Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
Mopping, sweeping, swift fering.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
Like we said earlier, all those things can help get
your heart rate up. And researchers say that as long
as you do those activities in.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
One minute bursts or longer, that it'll help you live longer.
Speaker 3 (01:21:49):
So, like, your heart rates up a little bit, you're
putting the laundry in there, you unloading the laundry, you're
going down the stairs with your hamper. Like that's maybe
not the most strenuous exercise, but it's better.
Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
Than doing nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:22:01):
Dude, I should be shredded.
Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
I do this stuff all day every day, Like cleaning
the house.
Speaker 1 (01:22:05):
There's no finish line to that, you know, right, so
that's the finish line. But I mean general cleaning, laundry, sweeping, mocking, mopping, vacuuming.
Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
I should be shredded. Okay, Well it's not saying it's
gonna get you shredded. It's just saying it's better than
not getting any exercise in at all. So when you're like, man,
I didn't do anything, Okay, well you did seven loads
of laundry. That's a lot of unloading and loading and
folding and putting away. And I mean it's not running
a marathon, but it's some sort of exercise that got
your heart rate going. Basically, if your heart rate's elevated
(01:22:39):
for a minute or more.
Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
It's it's good for you.
Speaker 1 (01:22:42):
I don't think it should be called exercise. It leads
people to believe that they're doing more than they really are.
It could be a non exercise activity heart rates. It's
an activity. Sure, Okay, you're not sitting on the couch,
you're folding panties, But calling it exercise is wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:22:58):
Some people don't feel like that at the time, and
maybe they do a lot of things.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
If you're if you're you're a mom and you stay
at home all day and you're taking care of your
kids and you're doing laundry and you're you're making lunches
and you're wrangling up these kids, Like, that's got a
lot of work.
Speaker 1 (01:23:11):
Hardest job in the world. I'm not taking anything away
from this.
Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
This is kind of like, hey, look at that.
Speaker 3 (01:23:15):
That's a little bit of exercise you're getting right there,
So don't feel so bad about it.
Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
Folding clothes is not, but you're whole a lot of clothes. Like,
there's gardening made the list. There's an argument for gardening.
Speaker 8 (01:23:29):
If you're like you're digging stuff, If you're digging and
pulling weeds and blah blah blah, that's that's a gardening
term hoeing, get the hoe out if you're out hoens,
that's listen hoen ain't easy, It's not exercise.
Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
I always say.
Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
Mental Flaws dot Com is put together a list of
movies that they feel define gen Z.
Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
Laws is getting a lot of dapt today. That was
the stupid food list that they put together that also
Mental Flaws.
Speaker 2 (01:23:55):
So maybe it's not the best list.
Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
But number one on the gen Z Defining list is
Spider Man Homecoming, I guess because millennials would probably say
Toby Baguire like I would say. Also on the list
is Call Me by Your Name Moonlight Clueless, which is
a nineteen ninety five movie.
Speaker 2 (01:24:12):
That I feel like is more millennial than gen Z.
Speaker 1 (01:24:14):
It really should be a millennial.
Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
Hunger Games I felt like that was also a millennial.
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
But okay, i'll give it to you. Get out the
Truman Show that doesn't belong to gen.
Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Z, and then Dune.
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
You're gonna have Dune, You're gonna have BookSmart, you're gonna
have to all the boys I've loved before, and yeah,
you can have those, but I want Truman Show and
I want Clueless to be an Hunger Games.
Speaker 1 (01:24:35):
So my guest was gonna be ratituey that you're all
sitting around waiting to find some rat that's gonna cook
for you. Because the same morning as you're putting this
together and you're talking about these gen Z defining movies,
I read sixty one percent of gen z ors cannot
make an omelet. Ooh, good luck finding RATATOUI to make
(01:24:55):
you that omelet. Yeah, guys, learn how to make an omelet.
Speaker 3 (01:24:57):
Come on, Jesus, all those band shirts that you're sitting
in your closet and drawers may actually have a little
value to them.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
We've already talked about this today, but someone.
Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
Did a study on the bands with the most valuable
T shirts that analyzed over eighty four thousand band and
music artists t shirts sold on resale market websites. According
to the study by spreadshirt dot com, the artists with
the highest average resale value on their shirts are Nirvana,
whose average resale value is two hundred and seventy nine dollars,
followed by Red Hot Chili Peppers second at two hundred
(01:25:29):
and forty one dollars. Earth Wind and Fire is one
dollars below that, and then Guns N' Roses is number
five on the list at one eighty eight, followed by
Green Day at one eighty six, and Pearl Jam Is
in ninth with one seventy one.
Speaker 1 (01:25:40):
It is bizarre that Earth Wind and Fires on that list.
That led me to my poll question today, how many
band T shirts do you own? Fifty percent of our
audience between one and five T shirts. So this is
what makes me realize that I have a sickness, just sickness,
it's a hobby. The twenty one percent had between six
and ten band team shirts. Twenty percent of our audience
(01:26:02):
has sixteen or more in just about seven percent have
eleven to fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:26:06):
So the Grateful Dead was not on the top ten
like most valued, but they do have the most valued
shirt like individual shirt and it's a it has a
large black panther in front of it. It sells for
twenty seven hundred and fifty dollars, So that's pretty crazy.
But I would imagine that I would have thought that
Grateful Dad would have been higher up there for concert shirts.
Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
They had a moment I remember, like I never got
into the dead. You always knew when you were in school,
like who was into the dead, because that's they that
came with a whole thing.
Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
That's who did the drugs.
Speaker 1 (01:26:35):
It came with the sandals and wearing a dead shirt
every day and like you're not washing anymore, and now
they're Dave.
Speaker 3 (01:26:42):
Matthews fans scraggly. All right, what's going on in sports?
Rockets got another win last night. They got by the
Celtics one fourteen to one to twelve. Amen Thompson had
a jumper with less than a second left to give
the Rockets and Thompson had a career high thirty three
points of the night. Rockets have now won three straight. Tonight,
they're going to be in Atlanta to take on the Hawks.
Tip Off is at six thirty and you can listen
to that game on our sister station, Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
That is what's going on in sports.
Speaker 7 (01:27:06):
Houston, Houston's alternative and home of the Rod Ryan Morning
Show ninety four or five.
Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
The Buzz.
Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
Go Alex go, Yeah, I love those little dude Dad's
at the end there so where woo woo.
Speaker 6 (01:27:25):
I love that and he is not that.
Speaker 1 (01:27:28):
That's my man, Alan Alex shredding on that Vast Boys song.
Ninety four five The Buzzs Good Morning by Ryan's Show,
Great John is almost Hey, don't sound out of breath
or anything after a jamming that and it's just it's
a lot of practice at that rock cardio. Twenty percent
chance of brains today and today cloudy skies hies up
(01:27:50):
about sixty one. Just got a picture from our man
Chad mc him and his free chicken honey butter chick biscuit,
Honey buttered chicken biscuit. It's in that order, yeah, honey
buttered chicken biscuit. Yeah, I thought I'd be getting these
all morning. To be honest with you, yesterday we talked
about Lady Wilson was just announced as the Waterburger Ambassador,
(01:28:14):
and then she said, hey, to kick it off, we're
gonna have a free honey buttered chicken biscuit tomorrow. Today
is tomorrow because that was yesterday, and three or four
of you have sent me pictures said that you went
to go get your free food picture. Oh DC, okay, yeah,
I mean what was that thing cost? Three bucks?
Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
Cup Bucks?
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
Yeah, okay, it's a lot they gonna give out for
free all day today. I don't know. I mean, I'm
participating in restaurants. I don't know what times. It doesn't
say anything. Oh, here we go instar only serves six
till eleven am, limit one per person. Okay, so there
are little things in here. So you got till eleven
o'clock to go get your free biscuit with the honey butter.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
I may not get one.
Speaker 1 (01:28:58):
It's a wonderful thing. Yeah, eleven o'clock. Dude, you don't
get out of here by eleven os.
Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
That's not happen.
Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
All right. We are gonna be giving you a chance
at some alternative income coming up in just a little bit.
We'll have the keyword for you, then we will ask
you to enter that at thebuzz dot com. Bright smiling
faces been added to the beer board. One hundred bottles
of Love Street Blonde on the wall. Another ten faces
(01:29:22):
added this morning, another ten tomorrow, another ten after that,
until we get one hundred faces up there. You could
be one of them. You have to be twenty one
years of age you're older, and make out with a
can of Love Street Blonde and send it to us.
It's just kind of like a selfie of you and
the beer bottle or can is fine. It's got to
be Love Street Blonde, and you got a chance to
(01:29:43):
win five hundred dollars for a quarter one, two, and
three during the big game, and then the final score
if you have those numbers, boom five hundred bucks. And
then an additional five honey is on that page as well.
I'm seen this story all over the place, and I
got suckered into it because I thought it was great.
I did think it awesome. Three things you must see today.
(01:30:06):
The couple in California, they lost their home and they
eaten fire this month. Modest home. You know, all we
hear about is these celebrities. You know, this celebrity lost
their you know, their third home or you know it's
maybe it's it's a second home for a lot of
these people. And there's regular people that lost everything, like
this couple right here, Brian and Stephanie. So they lost
(01:30:29):
their house in the Eton fire this month. They're all
over the news right now thanks to the one thing
that survived. He had bought an engagement ring for his
chick and the house is completely leveled, but he had
it in maybe the night stand, or he knew what
part of the house. Okay, there you go, you saw this.
(01:30:52):
So he goes into that area of the house and
he's like, I don't know it's a diamond, so, I mean,
diamonds are pretty tough. He found the ring. He was
looking for it with her. It was the first time
going back to the house. They found the ring needle
in a haystack kind of stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:31:09):
He said, he thought it was just gonna be the stone.
He's like, I think the stone might survive, but I
figured that the ring itself is just going.
Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
To be melted.
Speaker 1 (01:31:16):
And the ring made it. The ring part made it
with the stone. She doesn't know anything about this. He
drops down on one knee right there, rubble in the
house and everything like that. Everybody's balling boom. He asked
her to marry him right there. It's awesome. It really
is awesome. He proposed, right there on the spot photo
the ring. Everything that's leading three things that you must
(01:31:40):
see today. It's the number one thing on that page.
Anything I was good on there, Well this is for Alex.
It's a pretty good way to start an argument on
your next flight.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:31:51):
If you want to stop the person in front of
you from reclining their seat, this person shows you how
a full sized pringle can can can prevent them from
reclining their seat. Alex has with you. Alex has a
huge grin on his face right now. Yeah, how a
pringle can can prevent someone from reclining their seat. Alex
(01:32:13):
just likes the diggest knees in your back.
Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
I don't do that. I say nothing, and I just
quietly hate you the whole flight.
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
And then I got a heavy metal cover of It
Wasn't Me by Shaggy Metal, Complete metal cover. It's awesome.
So three things you must see. The water works are
out for the engagement ring. It really is a great story.
I mean, this couple lost everything, man, they lost everything.
All right, here's a chance to win some cash. Guys.
Good luck, man, I need a local winner here. Let's
(01:32:42):
go go get this money please.
Speaker 6 (01:32:46):
And the Ryan Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (01:32:51):
The Buzz. Yeah, yeah, welcome back everybody. That guy right there,
that second, Yeah, that came from Alex Online. It's Alex
online the Muzz. All right, what you're doing today?
Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
This is what I found online.
Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
I got a puzzle game for you to kill some
time at work today while you're pretending to be in
a meeting or whatever it is. It's called the Black In.
The goal of the game is pretty much like you're
looking at a checkerboard. You have to get all of
the squares to black. When you touch your white tile,
it turns every tile it touches black, So you have
to kind.
Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
Of make it's a Rubik's QB. You would probably do
this in two seconds.
Speaker 1 (01:33:31):
Oh well, you know that's something that I'll be looking
at today.
Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
We'll dive into that one that they will circle back
with my thoughts after this. H So go check it out.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
See if you can beat the Wizard's score at the
world famous rod Ryan showpage at the Buzz dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Dude, send it to him. He'll play it. I will.
I promise you he'll play I know he's busy, but
he'll play it.
Speaker 4 (01:33:48):
The rod Ryan Show Mornings on ninety four five.
Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
The Buzz.
Speaker 1 (01:33:54):
Ninety four five, The Buzz, Shine Down the debt Don't Die?
Did we use that for the Texas Hammer? Yes? Do
you have it? It's so good. I can't believe I
didn't get it because I love that song so much.
But the lyrics I'm not the best one, but it
sounded so familiar when we played it. It was yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
There's Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
Yeh, today's only Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
It is only tesday.
Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
It because I got gutted. You know what, time has
slowed down. I got gutted Sunday night. I just I'm
not just not moving.
Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
Day feels like a billions.
Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
So it was just yesterday we played the Texas Hammer game.
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
Yeah, who could forget with this?
Speaker 1 (01:34:31):
Or I did forget one more round? No reprieve Lifes
killed me one hundred thousand times. He's the best, He's
the best. Good morning rod Ryan's show. It's only tat Tuesday.
See playing a week lass It's nine twenty six, just
(01:34:52):
seeds more of us. I may have my poll question
locked in for tomorrow already. Oh yeah, yeah, sin Anthia
just sent me this. Seventy percent of people now watch
TV with the subtitles turned on. I know we've talked
about this before, and I feel like you guys might
be you and your wife. Is it set for everything?
Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
Pretty much? Because i's sporting events, Yeah, because then it
gets in the way of the field.
Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
So you just want subtitles on every single thing you're
watching outside of live sports. Yeah, any TV show or movies,
even those office repeats that you watch that you probably
know every line.
Speaker 2 (01:35:26):
It just like having you have subtitles that's safe with it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:29):
There and then like when you have a like not
to be though I have a kid, guy, But when
you have a kid, kids make lots of noise. So
sometimes you like they're asleep or you're trying to get
him and take a nap.
Speaker 1 (01:35:40):
And you're like, oh, you can't turn the TV up?
Speaker 8 (01:35:41):
You do that.
Speaker 3 (01:35:42):
I gotta have it on some subtitles, Okay, okay, but
even if my kid's not there.
Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
I will still have subtitles.
Speaker 1 (01:35:48):
One of my streaming platforms is set to subtitles because
we talked about it on this show this years ago.
We talked about it. Uh, when it was just kind
of catching on. If I watch something on either Netflix
or Amazon Prime, I must have gone in and changed
it just to see if and then I never not
changed it. So it's just there. Uh No, I don't
have it set up for this. What that number sounds
(01:36:10):
way high. There's no way seventy percent of our audience.
There's a lot of people. I think there was a lot.
I don't think it's I don't think it'll be seventy.
It will not be seventy.
Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
It'll be closer to fifty, but okay, be a little
above fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:36:21):
What did we say was the number one movie that
Mark Wahlberg movie over the weekend. It was twelve million
dollars and it was the number one movie.
Speaker 2 (01:36:28):
Fly the Plane Line. Yeah, carry On, No, No, wasn't it?
That was Jameson Bateman.
Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
That's did you watch that?
Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
I did watch it.
Speaker 1 (01:36:35):
It's pretty good Christmas movie. It was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
So flight Risk, Flight Risk, that's the one.
Speaker 1 (01:36:42):
If movie theaters are indeed struggling, which we know they are.
If that number is correct, seventy percent of people watch
television with the subtitles on. Do movies need to take
a look at this? I don't know and put subtitles.
Is it different on a television than on a screen
and a movie screen? It shouldn't be.
Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
But then, like if you have a movie that's dubbed
and they have the English subtitles, I'm not gonna watch it.
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
A squid game not doing that, Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:37:10):
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (01:37:11):
Okay, I'm just wondering if theaters need to look at it.
I will do that as a poll question tomorrow. It
won't be seventy percent.
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
I think he's gonna be above fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
I just don't think. Okay, maybe maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:37:26):
A guy in Texas is in trouble or what way
this time? I think it's always men.
Speaker 1 (01:37:33):
This is what I'm kind of putting together in my
head because he's twenty five, so he may have been
a tide pod challenge kid. Now he's old enough to
be a parent.
Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
He is.
Speaker 1 (01:37:46):
Where is he?
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
In?
Speaker 1 (01:37:48):
Always Import Arthur, Texas snowstorm last week all of Texas
got it. He could be facing charges after a video
which I have for you on the Crazy Criminal blog page,
shows him using his three month old baby like a
snowbrush to clear off his windshield. A lot of people
(01:38:08):
don't it's on your face. A lot of people do
not have uh maybe even know what a snowbrush isper
it's a scraper. It's got a brush. Yeah, it's like
a big, huge toothbrush. So it's a it's a brush.
Like when you rent a car when I went home
for Christmas, you rent the car, it's in every car
(01:38:29):
that you rent. I mean you have to have that.
You absolutely have to have one. This guy doesn't have one.
In aby Port Arthur. Now, at first people on TikTok
thought it was a doll and a coat, but it
turned out to be a real baby. He pushed the
kid around. He wasn't exactly gentle with this kid. I
got like, I said, I have the video for you.
Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
The doctors always tell me port Arthur, Texas.
Speaker 1 (01:38:55):
Like all of us here, we don't get a lot
of snow. So there's a part that he didn't know
what to do. I don't know what made him think
that a kid acting as a snowbrush would be good,
obviously wanting, wanting to be funny and to go viral.
Speaker 6 (01:39:10):
Was it like the face?
Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
Was he rubbing the baby's face on the windshield or
was he like rubbing the butt of the kid on
the winds show?
Speaker 1 (01:39:17):
I think this is a little bit back.
Speaker 2 (01:39:19):
It is a little different depending on what he was really.
Speaker 1 (01:39:21):
Doing, like pushing the snow at his back, on the
side of his head, side of the head.
Speaker 2 (01:39:25):
Maybe don't do that now.
Speaker 1 (01:39:29):
Maybe this is some low level TikTok goofy thing that's
out there because there are several other videos of people
using their kids to clear snow off their car. Cop
did a welfare check. Baby's fine. Guy hadn't been charged
yet as I'm looking. His name's not released. It's probably
a good thing expected, though to face child endangerment charges
(01:39:52):
to be funny on TikTok to.
Speaker 2 (01:39:53):
Be fine on TikTok. Shouldn't have done it.
Speaker 1 (01:39:55):
This guy ate a tiepod before, no doubt this guy.
And yeah, now he's got a kid.
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
Now you weren't throwing the kid at the car window.
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
He took a spoonful of cinnamon about eight years ago.
Then he ate a tide pod about six years ago.
And now and now he's removing snow from his car
with his infant child.
Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
Hey, at least he's a father.
Speaker 1 (01:40:19):
How old is baby l He is seven months? Seven months?
This is a three month fold.
Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
Yeah, they're not really they're not really ready. My doctor
always tells me, babies, you're tough.
Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
Okay, that's on the Crazy Criminal blog page. The guy's
video is.
Speaker 4 (01:40:34):
Up the rod Ryan Show on ninety.
Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
Ninety four or five The Buzz Good Morning rod Ryan Show.
That's Papa Roach getting away with that twenty percent chance
of rainbow today and tonight, Cloudy skuys Hive about sixty
one your chick or both of you only murders in
the building. She watches it, you don't get to have it.
(01:41:01):
I just chosen not to watch it. But that's when
I'm playing Xbox she'll be watching. That's her show. She
will come out.
Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
I'm out out on it at It seems like everything
that they talk about on that show on any network
is like, this is an amazing, incredible show.
Speaker 1 (01:41:16):
Wow, how how great is it?
Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
My life really likes it.
Speaker 1 (01:41:19):
I had low expectations going into it. Only murders in
the building, you know, comedy legends. Yeah, Steve Martin, I mean,
one of the funniest people of all time. Martin short, funny, talented.
Selena Gomez got a weird voice. I never heard her
talk before. It's weird, dude, her voice. And I'm not
saying that she's not throwing something on that. She seems
(01:41:40):
like a little extra millennially, you know, because she's playing
she plays the young faux foil to the old guys.
But they're all hanging out together. So I don't know
if she throws it on or does she just talk
that nasally all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
It is.
Speaker 1 (01:41:54):
I can't get past it. But first season was good.
There was a murder in the building. That makes sense
to me. Second season, all right, there's another murder, and yeah,
so there's another murder in the building. Season three, I'm like, no,
I'm out I guess there's four seasons. I'm done. Oh really, yeah,
I'm done. So I started watching three and I didn't
(01:42:14):
think it was that good. Okay, first two seasons are
really good though, and I think they're now free on ABC.
I see they're kind of putting them in their lineup.
So if you just watch the first two seasons, you're good.
You can get it for free. You don't get to
have paramount. I don't know who's.
Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
You know it's back next month? Is Righteous jim Stones
their final season?
Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
I heard they were gonna be done. And there's a
trailer for White Lotus out season.
Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
Two and Walton Goggins in both.
Speaker 1 (01:42:42):
The full trailer for White Lotus three is out. How
are they going to do it without Stiffler's mom? I
don't know, woll The gays are trying to kill me?
Speaker 2 (01:42:52):
Do you know these Gays?
Speaker 1 (01:42:54):
That was so good White Lotus? I can't believe how
much I like. The first one was way better than
the second one. The second one was still good because
Aubrey Plaza is awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
Yeah, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:43:06):
I don't know. I don't. I don't have that. I
don't have that thing that stays with it. The bear
was consistent for me. I loved it all. I loved
it all. I never got sick of the bear for
some reason. It was all really consistent. Only murders in
the building too and done done. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:43:20):
Wow, I'm mad at like just pulling out on a
show though, I'll being like, I already spent so many
hours on this, I gotta keep going.
Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
Which if you're not enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (01:43:29):
Why I still never finished Baby Reindeer after that wild season.
Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
I mean, we know how you know how it looks.
I read the book, episode Wikipedia page, but still episode four,
I'm like, that's it. That's all I can handle. I
was having my heart was pounding through my chest like
I drank a case of Red Bulls.
Speaker 1 (01:43:46):
I'm like, I can't do this. I have not I
don't know how Baby Reindeer ends. I don't know what
the conclusion is. I don't know, like why he is
the way that he is, and people sall me, Rod,
you can't just leave it there. You have to finish it.
Speaker 6 (01:43:59):
I don't want it.
Speaker 1 (01:44:00):
I don't want that to be a part of my life.
Baby was. It was a very dirty time in my
life that I just I feel like I just got
my hands clean. I could not even imagine getting them
dirty again. Going to watch those last two episodes.
Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
You should watch a Bookie. I've been watching that on Max.
Speaker 3 (01:44:21):
It's about how like gambling is legal in a lot
of places and they're trying to like it's an actual
bookie trying to deal with legal gambling. It's pretty funny,
Sebastian Maniscalco, Isn't it okay? And then it's got a
bunch other just like celebrity cameos. It's kind of like Entourage,
where you're just like, oh, that guy's in here too,
this guy's in here.
Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
It is absolutely impossible to keep up on all all
the shows.
Speaker 2 (01:44:41):
Yeah, there's a billion of them.
Speaker 1 (01:44:43):
The most streamed show of twenty twenty four, No Surprise
in My House, Above and beyond every show and movie
in twenty twenty four, the most streamed show with fifty
five point six to two billion minutes viewed. Oh yeah, yeah, Bluie,
(01:45:04):
which again it's not bad. It's on Disney Plus. So
Disney Plus has the number one show and movie, the
number one streaming thing on that you can possibly get
on your TV. Gray's Anatomy. I remember how big that
show used to be in ninety seven of it, and
it was kind of talked about and you know, like,
I don't know you use those terms like, oh, you'd
(01:45:25):
hear people talking about it in the hallway. I never
watched even one episode of it. It doesn't mean that
it's not big. It just it was a part of
pop culture. It was talked about. How is that number two?
Does anybody watch Grays Beautiful? Obviously people do watch it. Obviously.
Family Guy was in at three. And these are billions
(01:45:46):
of minutes of streaming. Mob's Burgers people good. People love
those damn cartoons.
Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
Yeah, and you have to think it's not too serious.
It's just it's a good, just chill, let's relax kind
of show.
Speaker 1 (01:45:59):
Spun. Bob was in top ten. That plays, Yeah, and
then the kids stuff dominated. When it came to movie streaming,
Disney Plus Mohana was number one. Super Mario Brothers the
Movie on Netflix. My niece likes that, Trolls Band, Minions
in Kanto, Frozen, Paul Patrol, the Movie, Inside Out, The
Boss Baby. These are the most streamed movies. They're all
(01:46:23):
kid movies.
Speaker 3 (01:46:23):
I wish I'm not to the movies yet We're still
on Dancing Fruits on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
Okay, I just put the Dancing Fruits on with the
music and my kid loves it.
Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
Yeah, it's fun to see them connect with certain things,
certain songs. Have you played with the Lion sleeps tonight?
Speaker 4 (01:46:40):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:46:40):
Yeah, Jun.
Speaker 2 (01:46:43):
Think it's funny when you do the high pitch.
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Yes. Have you shown her Baby Shark yet? I have
not really worked on Baby Shark yet. It's coming.
Speaker 2 (01:46:51):
We're working towards it.
Speaker 1 (01:46:52):
It's coming.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
I don't want to get burnt out on it before
I have to get burnt out on it. You know,
no escape. It's like Molana my wife.
Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
If you just watched Mowana withers like she's not gonna
understand it. We're gonna watch them on eight thousand times.
Speaker 1 (01:47:04):
You will watch it. And your number is correct. It's
right at eight thousand. You watch it, you will watch
it eight thousand times. Coming up, I know the show.

Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
A buzz band had the number one most valuable concert shirts.
Speaker 1 (01:48:01):

back in the day, and yeah, there's a there's a
chance that they might have this shirt.

it's bush and the chemicals between us. Rob Ryan's show

Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Who's this? This is Mike, Hi, Mike, Welcome to the show.
How are you today?
Speaker 3 (01:49:15):

Speaker 10 (01:49:16):
Man for time?
Speaker 5 (01:49:17):
Caller?
Speaker 1 (01:49:18):
Really, how long you've been in town?
Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
About two months?
Speaker 1 (01:49:22):

Speaker 3 (01:49:36):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (01:49:38):
How many? Alex has a question for you, But my
question is how many band T shirts do you own?
They don't have to be from the concert. How many
band T shirts? Give me a ballpark number?
Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
I'm old school, mighte about three or four?
Speaker 1 (01:49:51):
Three or four? Yeah, most of our audience, fifty one
percent of our audience has between one and five. What
are they? What are they Mike, I got.
Speaker 6 (01:49:59):
Eric after ten years after and uh, I forget the
other one.
Speaker 4 (01:50:05):

Speaker 1 (01:50:15):
All right, Well listen. Alex has a question for you.
Speaker 3 (01:50:17):
Yeah, Mike, what band has the most valuable concert shirts?
Speaker 4 (01:50:21):
Nirvana?
Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
Yeah, that is correct.
Speaker 1 (01:50:24):
I just again, I always back it up because they
didn't play a whole lot. If you did go see
him live and you bought a shirt, go look in
your closet, man, it could be worth some money. I
guess that one of them goes for the long sleeve
goes for upwards of two thousand dollars, right the wow,
Yeah that one, Mike. Let me tell you, I don't
(01:50:44):
know what you know about Saint Vincent. She is a wicked,
awesome performer. She's a great guitarist. As a matter of fact,
when Nirvana went into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
Saint Vincent was one of the singers. If you remember,
remember they.
Speaker 6 (01:50:56):
Had old chicks.
Speaker 1 (01:50:56):
They didn't have anybody sing Kurt's parts like they didn't
have a due. They had Saint Vincent. They had the
chick that does Royals Lord and one other one Jone
Jet maybe I can't remember. I can't remember either, but
Saint Vincent was one of them. Dude, you're gonna love
the show. Mike, enjoy those tickets, man, all right, appreciate you, man,
(01:51:17):
I appreciate you. Mike. I'm glad you're back on board
with us.
Speaker 4 (01:51:20):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:51:24):
Did you put Loverboy on there? Do you think it's Friday?
Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
I didn't mean that. That's good tuesdays.
Speaker 8 (01:51:30):
Guy.
Speaker 2 (01:51:31):
I look over.
Speaker 1 (01:51:31):
I look over, and I was like, lover Boy, do
we need more cow bell on a Tuesday?
Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
