Skyline Chile Cincy three to sixty about Cincinnati from Cincinnati,

(00:05):
sponsored in part by Skyline Chile. Stop by Skyline Chili
for a three way or cheese cony today. Feeling good,
It's Skyline time. This is ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
You're darn right it is. Welcome in to ESPN fifteen thirty.
Welcome into Cincy three sixty. Thank you to our friends
at Skyline Chili. Thank you for listening along. Happy Tuesday
out there to everyone. Appreciate you listening along. Maybe even
on the iHeartRadio app. If so, leave us a talkback.
We'd love to get those talkbacks in and our number
two best talkback of the week gets a Cinci Churtch
gift card. On Friday. It's a little bit of an

(00:41):
interesting day here as we are now into the swing
of baseball season, but we come off of a weekend
sweep of the Pirates and the Reds were off yesterday.
That gives us an opportunity today to fill in the
gaps a little bit elsewhere around the sports world. We
still have a lot to get to as it relates
to the Cincinna. He reads they are in action against

(01:01):
the Seattle Mariners tonight. If you've been outside at any
time today, you realize it's not the best weather day.
Temperatures have plummeted, winds are gusting up to thirty six
miles per hour as of right now, I saw in
the weather up it feels like thirty three degrees outside.
What I'm leading into Austin is the posted total for
tonight is eight and a half. Louis Castio and nic

(01:25):
Loodola on the mound. It feels to me like the
under should cast tonight at Great American Ballpark. It's not
the best weather day. Louis Castio takes the mound, a
place that he is very familiar with. I want to
look back today on the Louis Castio trade from a
couple of years ago, what he's done since then, and
who the Reds acquired for Louis Castillo will dive into that.

(01:49):
I think it's fair that all the praise Hunter Green
is getting is justified. And we'll play a little audio
from you for MLB Network talking about Hunter Green. But
in all of the talk of Hunter Green, I wonder
at this point are we overlooking or undervaluing what Nick

(02:10):
Lodolo has done to this point for the Cincinnati Reds.
Not as flashy from a strikeout number standpoint, but from
an era standpoint, over three starts actually a hair better
than Hunter Green at a zero point nine to six era. Again,
Hunter Green strikeouts stand out thirty one strikeouts to whereas

(02:30):
Nick Lodolo has just eight to this point. Is Nick
Loodolo somehow under the radar. Charlie Goldsmith wrote a fantastic
piece about Terry Francona through sixteen games of the season
and the distinct coaching style styles that play out that

(02:52):
maybe we've not seen here over the last couple of years.
We can dive into a little bit of that today
as well, but for the most part, today gives us
a chance to catch up on the NFL, the Bengals.
The NFL Draft is a week from Thursday. We'll do
some mock drafting. We can look around the AFC North
and other contenders in the AFC and look at their

(03:13):
biggest needs. There is the conversation, and this conversation will
continue all the way up until next Thursday. Do you
make the pick at seventeen? Do you move up? Do
you move back? If you're a betting man or woman,
What are you doing right now if you're the Cincinnati Bengals.
We'll dive into the importance of the defensive tackle position
as it pertains to this year's draft and NFL as

(03:33):
a whole, a little bit of an update on Trey Hendrickson.
We'll get to latest player visits that the Bengals have
had lined up. Paul Danner Junior had an awesome piece
about offensive line and highlighted some of the failures that
this team has had in drafting offensive lineman over the
last couple of years. Will dive into that and a
little bit of fun ranking the number one overall picks
in the NFL draft from two thousand to twenty twenty five.

(03:54):
Let's see where Joe Burrow lands on that list. We
also have our good friend Joe Danoman from Fox nineteen
will join us at one o'clock, and so much more
to get to. But before we get to any of that,
I have to ask before you even get to any
sports stories. We talked about this before the show Austin.

(04:15):
Recently in the news Katie Perry and others. They went
up to space, They traveled to space, they floated around,
they took some pictures they took some videos and then
they came right back down from space. Now, I've never
been one that wanted to go to space in general.
I don't think going to space for ten minutes would

(04:36):
be in the cards for me. Austin, Do you think differently? Uh,
I think I would do it. Yeah. I think I
would try to do it. Man.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I was thinking about this because it's like, you know,
I get motion sick really bad, so I would definitely
be you know, I'd need a couple of dramamine in
my system and I would probably throw up.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yeah, but the risk is pretty crazy.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yeah, for ten minutes, I feel like I'd be pretty like,
pretty confident until the day of and then I'd have
knots in my stomach. Yeah, And you're kind of sitting
there and then you hear the rockets go and there's
no turning back at that point. But I think it
would be so cool to be floating around up there
and see Earth from space. I think it would be

(05:24):
worth it.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, I don't. I just I don't have an interest
to do it, and I don't think that just a
ten minute stay up there would change that for me.
Why not? It's only ten minutes, Yeah, I just I
think there's more risk in it than reward.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
See, that's that's where we're different. I can see pictures
and videos of exactly what it looks like. Yeah, but
that's not experiencing it for myself.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
There's a lot of other things on earth I'd like
to experience, Like what winning the lottery? See, all you
care about is money, I'd be one. What if they
paid you to go up? Now we're talking a different language. Okay,
now I'm interested. See now we're in two very different
parts of our life. You are a much much, much,
much much much older man than sure. Uh, and you've

(06:11):
got three little kids and a wife. Yeah I've got
none of that. Some would say that's a reason to
want to go to so so if you've got three little.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Kids, so the amount of people that are hurt if
something happens to me is much less than if something
were to happen to you.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah. I also feel like I looked at that capsule,
and I watched the video of the women that went
up there. I don't know, if space is made for
six six it could be a little cramped on that capsule.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah, it would definitely be cramped. Yeah, but I don't
know that I would care in the moment, I mean,
start to finish. How long does that trip take? I
think the whole thing was like fifteen minutes. They went up,
they floated around, they came back down.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
That was it. It's pretty amazing. In and out home
for lunch.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
And they've done this like two or three times now. Yeah,
Jeff Bezos went up one time. Didn't Michael Strahan go
up now? Gail King and Katy Perry and others.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, I don't know if. I don't know if that's
in the cards for me yet. I think I would
try it, all right, I think I would. What about
the listeners? I would hate it as it's happening. I would.
I would.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
I'll tell you the four minutes that I'm in space, Yeah,
it would be the coolest four minutes of my life
floating around and the other seven zero gravity. You want
to talk about some clenching going on, Yeah, I would
hate it, that's fair. I think I would do what
Katy Perry did too. I would kiss the ground. Okay,
I would appreciate your return. What a feeling that must be.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah, there's got to be there's an anti gravity places too.
You can experience.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
If that's cool, what's the most exhilarating like feeling of
your life, Like, what was the experience that gave you
the most?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Man, I don't know, adrenaline rush, Like I feel like
roller coasters already do that for me, and I don't
like roller coasters, and I don't like that's a smaller scale.
I'm not crazy about roller coasters either.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, I'm not like that. Again comes back to the
sickness thing. I'm just happy it's over as much as
I'm like, oh, I love that experience, sure, Like what
was what was like what was your heart rate like
when you went into the game against the Saints.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
It was fast? I mean it was that was a
that had to feel pretty crazy, right, Yes, but in
that sense, like you just you resort back to everything
you've done up to that point and it kind of
calms yourself down. If I've never been to space, or
like I'm on a roller coaster, like in going into games,
I knew I was in ultimate control because of the preparation.
Like if I'm on a roller coaster, I don't I

(08:30):
have no say. Like I've told the story before we
we we used to go to to King's Island as
a team when I was at UC and position groups
had to ride a ride together, and the position group
for quarterbacks they drove. They they chose drop zone. That's
child abuse, by the way, making kids do that. And
one of the guys that was in the quarterback room

(08:50):
as we started to go up, clicked my seat belt.
Now the seat belt is like the third extra precaution
on that, but still, I mean my heart weight rate
was racing on that till I finally got to click
back in.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Yeah, that's just first of all, that's just not someone
you want another part of your life. Correct, Like, people
like that are not good people and you want to
keep your distance from them, Thank you. But yeah, do
you ever hear people talk about a runners high? Yeah, Like,
I've experienced that once or twice in my life, and
that's a cool feeling. It's like maybe those people that

(09:24):
are like marathon runners, you know, those type of people.
That's some pretty crazy feeling.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yeah. I don't think. I don't think that that I
could ever experience a high while running.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
It's not it doesn't happen while you're running. I think
it's like the afterwards.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
I don't know. Okay, Well, outside of that at some
point to feel that let's get some sports story speaking
that's gonna happen. Speaking of heart rates getting a little higher,
what do you think jd Vance's heart rate was yesterday?
As the National Championship trophy came tumbling apart, probably paled
and comparison to mine. When I saw him try to
pick it up, wasn't it great? Look, keep your hands
off my trophy? Man, not the best? Uh that thing?

(10:08):
I will? You know?

Speaker 3 (10:09):
In his defense, it is a poorly designed trophy. Yeah,
and that happens to a lot of people. He's not
the first person that's done that. But they needed to
like give him a little bit of help there of like, hey, man,
here's how you pick so you know, Yeah, this thing's
gonna it's so weird how it like falls into like
fits into the base.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yeah, and how I guess the base is like fifty pounds. Yeah,
I'm good. Just like taking a picture with it, leave
it on the table. It's just awkward, take a picture. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I don't blame him. I would want to try to
do it too if I but maybe maybe you will.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Maybe it's not even try Like backstage, it was not
his best moments like, maybe go about it when you
get a rack of practice, run a prep run, Yeah,
any sort of rehearsal. Yeah. Last night WNBA draft, Dallas
Wings take page buckets. Page Becker's is the number one
overall pick in the twenty twenty five w NBA Draft.
The other news out of the WNBA draft last night

(11:03):
Austin was the fact that the number eight overall pick,
Sadanna Prince, did not get drafted. She was the number
eight overall prospect according to a lot of WNBA accounts,
and people were expecting to see her get drafted last night.

(11:26):
But she is going through right now domestic abuse allegations
and that was enough, even though she is six'. Seven
that was enough for every team in the first and
second round to pass over her last.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Night Sadanna, Prince Sadanna. Prince do you know her middle?

Speaker 2 (11:42):
NAME i. DON'T i. DON'T i was looking for fresh dang.
It Shador sanders will not be one of seventeen players
selected to be at THE Nfl draft Next. Thursday Cam
ward will be, There Jackson dart will be. There Alabama's

(12:04):
Jalen milroe will be, There Travis, Hunter Abdul, Carter, Ashton,
Genty Will, Campbell Mason, graham and a couple.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Others will who gets drafted, First Jackson dart Or Shador.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Sanders the more and MORE i keep seeing, this the
more and MORE i feel like It's Jackson Dart that's my.
Thought and With chaudor not being there, now maybe they're
not there because they're gonna get ready for their jersey
retirement At. Colorado that is.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
What do we.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Make Shador sanders unbelievable And Travis hunter will be getting
their jerseys retired At colorado this. Year let me remind
You Cordel stewart played quarterback For. Colorado he Hit colorado
in the top ten. Twice he won Two bowl games At,
colorado had had a GOOD nfl. Career Cordell stewart is
not slash as he does not have his jersey retired At.

(12:56):
Colorado sanders And Travis hunter Will Travis hunter. SHOULD i
have no problem with. That he's maybe the best player
in the history Of. Colorado he's A Heisman trophy. Winner
i'm no problem With Travis hunter getting his jersey. Retired shador,
though what what Did buddy accomplish other than Being Deon sanders'?
SON i, mean he was not a great. Player he

(13:19):
was a good. Player he was.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Fine he was a part of the resurgence of relevance
To colorado. Football but that Was dion And hunter more
than anything. Else chador is is not an all time.
Great and to do, this you, know before he's even
been drafted Into they're doing it This, Saturday like.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Doesn't even make.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Sense he's he's not even been out of school for
like a few.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Months remind me what WHAT bc or what what playoff
game they went?

Speaker 5 (13:50):
To?

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Correct not only, that what what ballgame did they go
to this? Year? Correct and they lost the ball? Game they?

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Stink their team. Stinks hunter is, Great shador is just, Okay,
like whose decision was?

Speaker 6 (14:04):
This my?

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Thing, like AND i get that That dion is an
egotistical me first. Guy he's always been that. Way but
the thing About dion is he always backed it up
with his.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Play and.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
It got to a point where it's, Like, Okay dion's gonna,
talk But dion's gonna. Perform it feels like he's almost
doing that For, shador And shador can't perform at that. Level,
yeah like this is almost talking For. SHOO i don't
even know If shador wants this for what it's.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Worth they played in The Valero Alamo bowl because they
they call it what it. Is they choked down the
stretch of their. Season, yeah they, choked and they played
in The Alamo, bowl and in That Alamo bowl BECAUSE
i believe down the stretch they lost To. Kansas they
had a clear path to maybe the tall team colleg

(14:59):
FOOTBALL playff and they lost To kansas thirty seven to twenty.
One they got boat, raced and then they went to
The Alamo bowl and it was a big deal Because
sanders And hunter were gonna. Play sanders had two hundred
eight yards, passing two touchdowns and two. Interceptions, yeah he's
not that good no. Offense If i'm a If i'm
a Former colorado, PLAYER i am pissed at. This yeah it's.

(15:19):
Weak ill love it's.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
WEAK i would love to know what you know, now
not to say That Joel clatt was, great But Joel,
clatt would you Know colorado, guy what he thinks about?
This Wes Solomon wilcotts thinks about. This guys that were been,
there done that been around the program for a long.
Time What diana has done with them is really really.
Good and they're relevant and it's very early in the

(15:43):
journey of what he's going to be.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
There But Shore, Sanders, god, yeah Like Travis hunter has
done something no one else can. Do WHAT i get,
That but even With Travis hunter doing it immediately is
still a push when there are others that deserve to
be in in my, thought in my, opinion at least
wait till the guy's.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
DRAFTED i mean his his biggest calling card At colorado
is his completion.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
PERCENTAGE i mind what you say like? That that was? It? Yeah,
yeah uh other news last Night Paul skeens And Henry.
Davis it's just so. Bob i'm just so. Bothered it.
Is it's it's ridiculous and it is it's disrespectful to

(16:31):
everyone else that has worn A colorado football.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Uniform like what if imagine the Bear cats Retired Desmond
ritters jersey three months after they got their face bashed
in and the college football.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Playoffs but even that makes more sense because they went
to the. Playoff it, does but, like how would you feel?
Right the logistics of it would be? Terrible, Correct LIKE
I i know for a, fact Like Shaq washington had
a great AT uc all time leader in. Receptions the
team's never really won from a conference championship, level AND
i know former players that are pissed because a year

(17:10):
after he was done, playing he got put in The
ring Of. Honor it's. Wild SO i know that that's
going on At. Colorado it's. Incredible we touched back on
that later as. Well Paul skeins bounced. Back pirates got
a win, yesterday But Paul skeins And Henry davis the
catcher yesterday made history As skeens And davis became the
first pitcher catcher battery In Major league, history comprised of

(17:33):
players selected number one in the draft to play in
a game from a pitcher catcher. Standpoint as, Mentioned pirates won.
Yesterday other games may be of note from. Yesterday The
cubs actually lost the, game The padres beat him ten to,
four and The Saint Louis cardinals continue to hit their
eight and Eight it's. Unbelievable they scored eight runs last

(17:54):
night and they won Behind Sonny, gray who's three to
oher with a three to one THREE era on the young.
Season and The. Tigers The tigers beat, up not beat
up on The brewers nine to one and drop The
brewers out of second place in the N.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Central was there Rating Cy Young, Winner trek Or tariq
or scoo ball or school?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Ball how do you KNOW i know how to say his? Name? Honestly?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Uh, yes seven, innings four hits totally Baffled brewers. HITTERS
i also saw something a few minutes ago THAT i
got to get your thoughts. On you, know The MAVs
And lakers played the other, night The luca. Game, yes post,
game Post Luca Don chick, Game Nico harrison met with. Reporters,

(18:36):
oh they were banned from using. Cameras they could not
record video or audio at the press contract With Nico,
harrison how soft is That we're gonna make that move
and you stand by. It then you get a yep

(18:58):
that Grinds, yes so. Soft listen to THIS nba play
in action. Tonight listen to the teams that make up
the seventh place game in The, east The Atlanta hawks
and The Orlando. Magic forty and forty two are The.
Hawks The magic are forty one and forty one winners
in the. Playoffs losing team has to play in the
eighth place game that'll take, PLACE i believe tomorrow The

(19:20):
grizzlies and The warriors in The West. Austin both these
teams are forty eight and thirty four and they have
to play in The play In west is absolutely. Loaded
BUT Nba play In action gets under way. Tonight how
about the photo That Ken Griffy junior snapped at The
masters Of roy.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
McElroy pretty, amazing. Unbelievable it's one thing to be a
photographer and credentialed at The masters to take that. Photo.
Unbelievable salute To Ken Griffy. Jr yeah for snapping. That
and baseball, wise The crosstown strikeout is that what we're going. With,
Yeah i'm gonna go with. That crosstown strikeout is today

(19:56):
down at In. Clifton you See xavier On. Diamond so,
THERE i think we're all caught. Up, okay what's that?
Mean what was that little segment we just?

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Did that was the review of yesterday's top sports stories and.
Tone that's brought to you By Class Roofing systems Of,
cincinnati the trusted local roofing and gutter. Company you can
check them out VISIT krs since he with a y dot.
Com keep an eye on those roofs today because that
wind is crazy.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Crazy Now i'm going back and. Forth right, now let
me get your opinion on this. Before RIGHT i. Am
i'm one of four or five coaches and a little
league team with my my son and some of our.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Other were five. Coaches, yeah we got five. Coaches, oh
you're Like Zach taylor in twenty.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Nineteen the conversation right, now do you practice with the
kids or?

Speaker 7 (20:43):
Not?

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Tonight we weren't able to get in a practice at
all last week because of the. Weather it's gonna feel
like it's in the thirties at five thirty tonight with the.
Wind do you throw the young ones out? There fields
might be a little. Sloppy do you throw the, four
five or six year olds out?

Speaker 3 (20:57):
There i'm not the guy to ask, about you, know
caring for young, children but my answer would be, yes
get out. There, yeah all, right, fair good to deal with.
It life sucks sometimes you gotta get through.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
IT i don't think i'd like getting jammed in cordweather
WHEN i was in high, school SO i don't know
what it would do to me When i'm at the
four and five year old.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
LEVEL i, mean you, Were you're still soft. Now So
cloria didn't Help charman going through. That charman.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Soft, yes let's. Start we'll do the. Same we'll start
with Some. Reds i'll bring up The Luis castillo. Conversation
we have a ton of time to get to The
bengals today as. Well Joe daniman at one o'clock and
you your phone calls five, one, three, seven four, nine
fifteen thirty At cincy three. Sixty you're listening ON espn
fifteen Thirty Cincinnati sports, station thanks to our friends At Skyline.

(21:42):
Chile now one and. Two he swings hits into the,
air deep to left. Field PAP's going. Back he's at
the wall looking. Up it's gonna. Go second of the
night For.

Speaker 8 (21:54):
FERNANDO i have a two run homer here of the
eight and it's eight to.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Four there was the second home run of the night
For Fernando Tatis junior as The padres beat up on
The Chicago cubs last. Night with an off day in
place for The Cincinnati, reds that means going into action

(22:18):
Tonight Reds cardinals both a game and a half back
in THE Nl. Central early early on in the season
of The Chicago, cubs by the, Way austin because they
played those early games against The. Dodgers cubs have already
played nineteen, games while the rest of THE Nl central
is at sixteen or. Seventeen so obviously those numbers will
get skewed back at some, point but, Regardless reds back

(22:42):
in action tonight against The Seattle. Maritis CAN i ask
one question about The reds and The bengals? Now talk
about both? Today that call courtesy of The San Diego
Padres Radio. Network, yeah go, Ahead we'll spend time on The,
Bengals we'll spend time on The. REDS i was asked
this question yesterday AND i SAID i would bring it up,
today ALTHOUGH i THINK i know the, answer But i'll ask.
You i'll ask the listener as. Well if starting a,

(23:03):
team and you could start with a core group Of
Joe burrow And Jamar chase Or Hunter green And ellie
de La, cruz what would you start? With AND i
feel like, YET i feel like the overriding theme would
Be Joe burrow And Jamar. Chase but at the end
of the, Day Joe burrow And Jamar chase historically did
unbelievable things last, year and the team still wound up
with a losing, Record there is twenty other players necessary

(23:27):
in a football game that you would take into factor
if you're starting a team as opposed To Hunter green
And ellie de La. Cruz there are eleven players they
make up, too so you just have to fill nine other.
Spots the issue would Be Hunter green only pitches won
every five, games AND i think it's a lot harder
for one player to impact A Major league baseball. Game
but the years That burrow And chase had failed in

(23:49):
comparison because the team did not make the? Playoffs is
there anything That hunter And ellie could continue to do
through the remainder of this season that would make that?
Closer BECAUSE i feel like Everyone i've asked to this
point Says burrow And. Chase could those two do anything
that would make that a tighter? Race ellie needs to
stop striking. Out he needs to steal a bunch of.

(24:11):
Bases he needs to hit like forty or fifty home.
RUNS i, mean that's the equivalent of What joe And jamar.
Did Like hunter would have to win twenty, games, yeah
And ellie would have to hit upwards of thirty or
forty home runs and steal seventy five bases and be
in the conversation with THE.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
MVP i Mean burrow was AN mvp. Finalist jamar probably
should have won The Offensive player of The year. Award
he did lead in all three of the band. Categories the,
results you, know for this exercise don't matter of the,
season but the statistics. Do AND i mean it would

(24:49):
have to be two insane. Seasons that was the best
receiving season of player's ever had for The bengals and
the best quarterback season a player's ever had for The. Bengals,
Sure SO i, mean what are The reds? RECORDS i
Means sworez hit what fifty two homers a couple of years?

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Ago? Yeah can you hit sixty of your? Lai and
last year he was crushing it last, year.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah which you, know that's one of the things that's
interesting about this year IS i think he's got three
steals through sixteen, games and The reds just as a,
team aren't running as.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Much so let me let me tie that in because
our good Friend Charlie goldsmith wrote With charlie's. Chalkboard you
can find this At Cincinnati magazine dot com as well
Or charlie'. Chalkboard you can find the link to. It
But charlie on a day off, Yesterday austin looked at
five Ways Terry francona has improved The reds and the
first one he talks about IS i knew a new

(25:42):
identity running the. Basis and as you just, Mentioned ellie
de La cruz has three steals in sixteen. Games do
you think it's more of a coaching, Philosophy, yes that
is stopping the steals For elie de La. Cruz.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yes and also he hasn't gotten on base as much
as you would like via the walk or.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Whatever he did Say francona quote will run only when
it makes. Sense, yeah they're running when it makes. Sense
we want to be. Aggressive they're unning a lot less as a. Team.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
YEAH i mean there was multiple times in that first
series of the year where The reds didn't, run AND
i think part of that has to do with Maybe
Patrick bailey And ellie specifically didn't run at times during that.
Series SO i think that is A francona.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Thing.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Yeah so there's three things That i'm kind of keeping
my eye, on like And i'm earmarking About Terry. Francona
the first one is what we've talked about a, lot
which is not Moving ellie Daily cruz up in the,
lineup or maybe not Moving Matt McLean up in the.
Lineup the other thing is just the old school approach
to more. Bunting you, know bunting has been more a

(26:46):
part of who they are this, season AND i don't
know THAT i like. That and the third thing is
not stealing and being as aggressive on the base pass
because this team was kind of built to do. That,
Yeah so those are just three Things i'm keep an eye.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
On so some of the other things That charlie outline
and you could go read the story for the. Details
he also talks about prioritizing different, analytics managing pictures the
third time through the, order a different idea of a
quote unquote, closer which we talked about. Yesterday and finally
what you just alluded, to austin keeping the lineup as
consistent as it can. Be so frankcona, this according To,

(27:25):
charlie believes in keeping guys in consistent, spots which has
led to surprising decisions like Hitting Blake Donner Santiago espinal.
Second but he's prioritized Keeping ali de La cruz in
the number three, Spot he, said, quote guys get comfortable in.
Places you try to be, consistent you try not to be.
Stubborn sometime sometimes one leaks into. Another so if it

(27:50):
feels like to me at least That Terry francona has
been set from day, one That ellie's hitting third and
nothing's going to, change, THAT i.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Would love to know from a former big leaguer or
any big leaguer the truth behind that, Statement like how
are you? Comfortable like what's the difference between hitting second
and hitting third for you? Personally, like, yeah you might
get pitched to a little bit different depending on who's behind,

(28:19):
you but that that's going to be the case no
matter where you're hitting in the. Lineup so how does that,
Comfortability like how how much does it change when you
move up a spot or down a, Spot and how
much does it actually affect the way people are pitching to?
You because to, me so much of the rest of

(28:39):
baseball is analytics, driven so, right you're probably going to
be pitched to the same where you're at in the
lineup most of the, time especially if you're a really good.
Hitter SO i don't know if it's going to change
that Much and there's there could be Something i'm totally
missing about. That that'd be a great Conversation i'd love

(28:59):
to have With terry free going to explain it to,
me BECAUSE i would push back on, that AND i
would want to know from a big, leaguer like how
much does that actually affect?

Speaker 2 (29:05):
You so what's interesting in this article With charlie is
that he talks about different analytics and he Says francona
believes the power that matchup stats is very. Important he
said in this, quote if a, hitters oh for fourteen off,
someone there's a pretty good chance that he's not running
up the, plate SAYING i can't wait to face this.
Guy and he's talked about Moving Spencer steer at. Times

(29:26):
but in the same, Article francona also talks about the
struggles Of steer And candelario And Jake, freley, saying guys
get to their. LEVEL i don't have the formula for.
It it happens as cold as they, get they get just as.
Hot it's why you don't give up on a guy too.
Quick it'll leaven. OUT i really believe. That so, AGAIN
i feel like it's a little bit back and forth

(29:46):
as it pertains to the. Lineup but it's a fantastic
Reread Cincinnati magazine dot com or check Out Charlie's. Chalkboard
but those five interesting takes through sixteen games on How
Terry francona manages. It but regardless of, That i'm with.
YOU i the eli day of the cruise Question i'd
love to have, answered and when you, do choose to
move some guys or take guys out of the lineup

(30:06):
is fascinating to. Me, yeah let's, break let's come, Back
let's keep The reds. Going let's talk about The mariners
and The reds. Tonight let's talk About Luis castile and
what he's been since that, trade and let's revisit that
trade and let's see if if it was the right.
Decision we'll do that when we get. Back since he
three to SIXTY espn fifteen Thirty Cincinnati Sports, station a

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Kentucky now Here's Moe egger with a. Name you need
to know what we.

Speaker 10 (30:53):
Got after getting very little consistent production from their defensive
tackles last, season The bengals could use this year's draft
to find up. Grades one player to watch Is Michigan's Tenneth.
Grant at six feet four inches and three hundred and
thirty one, Pounds grant has a massive, frame yet he
also has a surprisingly quick first step as a pass

(31:13):
rusher and a good variety of moves he uses to shed.
Blockers grant was named a third Team All american last
season after recording thirty two, tackles including six and a
half for a, loss three, sacks and five pass. Breakups
evaluators say he does lack the athleticism that chase down
plays on the opposite side of the, field and some
have pointed out how he often ends up on the

(31:34):
ground instead of making the, Play but those same scouts
mention how good he can be a plugging the run
and pushing the. Pocket keep an eye On michigan defensive
Tackle Kenneth. Grant oh, Yeah moe has more listening to

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Live baseball Coverage Oakley greens and fifteen thirty Come back
SINCE e three to, SIXTEEN espn fifteen Thirty Cincinnati Sports,
station thanks for joining. Us Happy. TUESDAY a little bit
more on The Cincinnati reds back in action tonight against
The Seattle. Mariners it's already a great pitching. Matchup already

(32:18):
a great pitching. Matchup the weather should help the pitching.
MATCHUP i want to talk pitchers. Here let's start With
Luis Castillo. Austin it was a trade, that IF i remember,
correctly at the time it, happened it felt like pretty
much everybody was split down the. Middle do you Keep Louis?

(32:40):
Castillo do you move on From Louis? Castillo if you
Keep Louis, castillo can you Pay Luis? Castillo and in the,
end the move from The reds was to move on
From Louis. Castillo in an article ON mlb Dot com
From july, thirtieth, twenty this is What Mark sheldon, Wrote

(33:03):
The reds had no shortage of suitors who wanted a
crack at acquiring rotation Ace Luis. Castillo Nick krawl, said
we liked the top end, players we liked the depth
we had ten to fifteen teams that were in On
Luis castillo at some, Level so ten to fifteen, teams

(33:25):
The reds decided that the move with The Seattle mariners
was the. Best The mariners Got Louis castillo and in,
return The reds Got, Nuelvee, Marte Edwin, Arroyo LEVI I,
stout and right handed Pitcher Andrew. Moore, now at the,
Time Nick krawl, said we like all four, players and

(33:46):
we think all four players have a chance to be
potential big leaguers with. Us in his last start as A,
Red Luis castillo went seven, innings struck out the side
in the, seventh left a Great american ballpark with a standing.
Ovation the conversation, now knowing and you can't know it
at the, time knowing what The reds Got, Marte, Arroyo

(34:09):
stout And Andrew, moore was it still the right decision
at the time for The reds to Make. Austin. Yeah
Luis castillo since then thirty and twenty, four with AN
era of three point three, eight he has made over seventy.
Starts he's been very, consistent very reliable for The Seattle

(34:30):
mariners since then to further the conversation here just a little.
Bit if you look at a pitching standpoint for The
cincinnati red since that twenty twenty two. Season their rotation
in twenty twenty two ended With Hunter, Green Tyler, Maley, Graham, Ashcraft,
nicolodolo And Mike minor as the fifth. Starter twenty twenty,

(34:51):
three they ran it back With Hunter, Green Andrew, Abbott, Graham,
Ashcraft Brandon williamson And Luke. Weaver how about? That and
then last year we know what the rotation. Was Frankie, Montas, Green, Abbot,
Lodolo martinez ended up being the. Guy so seeing where
the staff is, now it's obvious you could, Say, okay
well he's not really needed. NOW i don't know that

(35:14):
it made. Sense and again you can look back now and,
say well that the players they got haven't really panned
out yet for The Cincinnati. Reds But i'm with. YOU
i still think at the, time with where this organization,
was it was the right trade to. Make they had
to make. It they came off a year in twenty
twenty one where they were eighty three and seventy, nine
not twenty twenty two season when he was. Traded they
finished sixty two in one. Hundred they lost one hundred.

(35:37):
Games they weren't going, anywhere and you had to kind
of reset at that, time and you couldn't just throw
a bunch of money At Luis. Castillo SO i know
that the stafts since then For Luis castillo have been.
Solid i'm sure that there's gonna be a lot of
people at the ballpark tonight happy to See Louis. Castillo
but even looking back at it, NOW i don't think
you can fault The reds for what they. Did.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
NO i, mean they were in this era or THIS
i guess tear down to rebuild. Phase they were moving.
On they're about to move on From Dick williams and
turning things over To Nick, krawl and you got to
just try to strip it down to the. Studs we
know how bad they were in the years following Trading Luis,
castillo and you, know you look at the young players

(36:17):
coming up in the system at the, Time guys that
are here right, Now, Abbott, Lodolo, Ashcraft, green guys that
they were going to be relying. On it hasn't been
perfect for all those. Guys but, yeah at the, moment
at the, time it WAS i think the right move to. Make, yeah,
now looking back on, it it's, like, well you, know
who did they get in? Return and how much of

(36:39):
an impact did that player end up having or not?
Having that obviously can be, debated but you never know
what these young guys are going to.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Be and the only thing we'll never know if there
was ten to fifteen other, teams what were those teams
offering up? Right that's the other, thing because it might
have been right to move on from. Them it may
have been better to take someone else's offer and what
you got in, Return that to me would be fascinating
to go back and. Visit but who did they get in? Return?
Again Nove, Marte Edwin, Arroyo Levi, stout And Andrew. Moore,

(37:06):
yeah That Levi stout hasn't been much that kind of. Stuff,
Yeah so looking back, now, WELL i mean at the,
time at the, time Nove marte Was seattle's top. Prospect
so you got the top prospect from The Seattle. Mariners,
Yeah arroyo is their was their third best.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Prospect And marte is really really. Young, sure we don't
know exactly what he's going to be. Yet And, ARROYO
i think still a lot of, Upside so it's hard
to say as far as this season Of Luis castillo
and as far as that is. Concerned you know WHAT
i found interesting looking At Baseball. Savant we know about
that lethal change up that he. Has he's throwing that

(37:46):
change up fewer than any. Pitch just ten percent of
the time is he throwing a change, up forty nine
percent of the, time he's throwing a, fastball twenty three
and a half percent of the time a, sinker seventeen
percent a, slider and ten percent a change. Up so
that's a little bit different from what we've seen in the.
Past and although HIS ra is small and he hasn't

(38:11):
made a bunch of, appearances he's started three, games he.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Has a LOW.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
Ra his fastball is among the best In Major League
baseball in terms of the run value and the pitching
run value at a ninety two, percentile but his barrel
percentage is among the worst In Major League. Baseball teams
are able to barrel him, up teams are able to
get extension on. Him he's about middle of the pack

(38:37):
in walk, percentage about middle of the pack in strikeout,
percentage and well below average in width. Percentage SO i
know that a lot of you, know advanced data people
sometimes don't don't care for, that BUT i think this
is an example of the er and maybe some of
the advanced metrics don't quite. Match so it'll be interesting
to see how he attacks The reds, tonight who all

(39:00):
defensively have not been very.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
Good. Yeah opposing him Is Nick, loodolo who again has
a point nine to SIX era on the, year And
austin you, out you could stop me if you think.
DIFFERENTLY i don't Think lodolo has pitched his best yet this. Year,
no it feels, like you, know does he get overlooked
because Of Hunter? Green? Yeah, absolutely any pitcher Would.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Lodolo it also is LIKE i think everyone kind of
holds their breath when he takes the mound because it's, like,
yeah can he really get through? It and it always
seems like he's working harder Than Hunter green. Is and
that's WHERE i don't know if it's just the mechanics
or the just the way he throws the.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
BALL i don't.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Know he's a little bit less pitch, efficient, sure but
the results are as good as anybody In Major League.
BASEBALL i look forward if if he has another strong outing.
TONIGHT i want to see what the conversation and he.
Comes and what's interesting is how different they. Are and
we've we've talked about how you know if you go
from game to game to. Game let's say you have
a three games in a row and It's Andrew, Abbott Hunter, Green.

(40:05):
Nickelodolo those are three very different pitchers and they show
you three entirely different. Things and what's interesting about you,
Know Hunter, green we know he's, fastball, slider, splitter and
he's going to strike out a bunch of. Dudes nickelodolo
so far this season has eight. Strikeouts, yeah eight strikeouts

(40:26):
in three. Starts that's among the worst In Major League.
Baseball but he's not walking, guys and he's getting a
ton of ground. Ball seventy one seventy first percentile In
Major League baseball in ground ball, percentage so top ballpark
Like Great.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
American that's a big, deal tied for second in era
In Major League baseball as. Well let's take a. Break
let's finish this off with WHAT Mlb network had to
say About Hunter green and the starts that he's, made
and then we'll transition that into a conversation With Joe,
Daniman that'll happen at one o'clock hour number. Two this
is still our one thanks To Skyline chiley ON espn
fifteen Thirty Cincinnati Sports. Station Hey, alexa what's going on in?

(41:04):
Baseball GETTING espn fifteen thirty From.

Speaker 11 (41:07):
iHeartRadio welcome back since he three to SIXTY espn fifteen,
Thirty Cincinnati Sports station thanks To Skyline.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Chilli now kind of going against BECAUSE i we just
got done talking About nicolodolo and Is nicolodolo flying under the? Radar,
Well nickeolodolo's flying under the radar because the ace on
the staff is doing things that now the rest Of
Major League baseball are taking note. Of not just a couple,
folks but when you look back Since july first of last,
year it's an era of just over. One it's essentially

(41:44):
a one point zero era Since july first of last.
Year he has been incredible this. Year it's a different
level of, confidence it's a different level of pitch. Efficiency
he now has the pitches to go with one hundred
mile an hour, fastball and he's thrown at one hundred
in the sixth than seventh, innings seemingly at ease whenever
he needs. It it is causing folks Across Major League

(42:06):
baseball to take note Of Hunter. GREEN i believe the
audio clip we Have austin is FROM mlb. Network, yeah
this IS mlb. Now it's about a minute. Long it
starts With Jason, stark then goes To Brian kenney and
finishes with FORMER Gm dan O'Dowd talking About Hunter. GREEN
i don't.

Speaker 12 (42:24):
Agree as a, GUY i am the most excited about
it BECAUSE i used to.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Sit there and Watch Hunter.

Speaker 12 (42:28):
Green always had this, arm this. Stuff he didn't have this, conviction,
Right he didn't know when he walked to the mountain
how he was going to get you. Out now you see.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
It the light bulb's gone.

Speaker 12 (42:43):
On, ka it's you can see where he ranks now
since the beginning of last. Year number one eer in the.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Sport but the.

Speaker 12 (42:52):
Way he fills up the strike zone and everything in
his repertoire tells you how convicted he is in how
oh good he can?

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Do, YEAH i, mean what's on the top shelf talent
here and these.

Speaker 13 (43:03):
GUYS i Had Michael king in my top ten right
now my wildcard Pick i'm at number five BECAUSE i
thought that much of him down the.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Stretch he's delivering. This, now who stands out to, You,
DAN i just want to follow up a little bit
Of Hunter.

Speaker 13 (43:13):
GREEN i do, Think, jason we need to start talking
About hunter in the same way we talk About Paul.
SKINS i do believe he's made that jump at that
same age to be that next dominant starter in The
National league for years to. Come SO i just want
to follow up on that real. Quickly so there it.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Is AND i think that last statement to me is
the most powerful There, austin because we and rightfully, So
Paul skan stuff is, nasty but everything in baseball goes
Around Paul. Skins Hunter green deserves to be in that.
Conversation without a shadow of a. Doubt Hunter green deserves

(43:52):
to be in that. Conversation and you can't argue the
team around him Because hunter has not got much run
production this year either the amount of times and this
is for Any reds staffer right. Now that makes it
even more. Impressive And moe alluded to this last. Week
pitching in high leverage situations is different than pitching in
a five run, lead and The reds pitchers have been

(44:14):
called upon to pitch in high leverage high stress situations
because the offense isn't doing enough unless your name Is
Brady singer and they've still done what they've done at
an amazing. Clip it makes it even more impressive to
see from The Cincinnati, Reds Hunter green has been lights.
Out Nick lodolo gets his chance to follow that up
tonight At Great American ballpark when he takes On Luis

(44:37):
castillo and The Seattle. Manners let's take a. Break hour
one is. Done let's get To Joe danoman From fox

Speaker 14 (45:42):
You?

Speaker 2 (45:45):
Joe did you get a chance to catch up on
The WrestleMania segment with me And uchino? YESTERDAY i?

Speaker 6 (45:50):
DID i.

Speaker 15 (45:50):
DID i listened back to it After audie posted, it
after you did, it AND i enjoyed. It Ricky uccino
is underratedly one of the great treasures of The cincinnati
sports journalism. BRETHREN i, MEAN i remember last year After
WrestleMania one of the press, conferences it might have Been TRIPLE.

(46:11):
H i think he was one of the first people
That TRIPLE h called on to ask a. Question So
Rick uccino is. Legit to have him on yesterday in
the seven was key for me to get ready For
WrestleMania this.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Weekend so NORMALLY i know this is tough for, you
because a lot of times you kind of have to
watch it on replay or after the actual event goes.
Live two day. Event are you going to catch any
of it? Live or are you going to catch the?
RERUNS Sat today will be.

Speaker 15 (46:39):
LIVE i am Working sunday. Evening we are putting together
A bengals draft show that, night SO i will have
to watch after the. FACT i might have it dialed
up on my desktop work and make everybody else work
watch with. Me but if there's one, event people who
aren't wrestling fans at least stop and, say, hey what's going?

(46:59):
On were? There WrestleMania seems to move the needle a
little bit with people who aren't wrestling.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
People, joe we talk about. THIS i feel like we've
talked to each of the last couple of. Times Hunter
green with The Cincinnati reads right, NOW i think it's
eighteen and two thirds. Scoreless the era is under. One
if you take it back to Last july and what he's,
done he is a every bit of a legitimate cy young.
Candidate from Watching hunter and following along with what he's,
done what's the biggest? Difference that the fastball is still,

(47:27):
There but what's the biggest difference that has equated some
of the success for.

Speaker 15 (47:31):
HIM i think it's a multitude of, things AND i
go back to his most recent, start When Sterry francona
talked after the, game there was this idea that That
Hunter green now fully understands how dominant his stuff, is
and he trusts using that stuff in the zone at all,

(47:53):
times and he has three pitches now that he can go.
To BUT i think most importantly there's this idea that
you think About Enteric scooble The Detroit, tigers when the
light bulb went on for him to trust throwing his
stuff in the zone and just keep, attacking. Attacking he
became the Cy Young award winner last. Season Hunter green
through ninety eight pitches his last start in seventy one were.

(48:14):
Strikes if he continues to throw strikes at the rate
he is and trusts his, STUFF i think you're seeing
the guy that's taking that leap from first Time All
star last year to Possible Cy Young award winner this.
YEAR i look at the odds last, night he's right
on the eels Of Paul skiings as the second best
HIGHEST fa betting odds in The National league to win

(48:37):
the Cy. Young SO i THINK i think mixing in
the splitter this, year having confidence and now being a
three pitch, pitcher but ALSO i think just simply at
this point of his, career understanding what he has and
the trust to throw it in the zone at all
times and not. Nibble that was to me always the
thing With hunter where he'd get himself in trouble with

(48:58):
his pitch count and guys would start to hit, him
was that he just nibbled too. Much now he attacks
the zone, relentlessly AND i think it's led to its
success right, now and it feels, sustainable Right that's the
most important thing to me, Is, look he's on a run.
Here it's, great you, know everybody goes on a, run
but his run goes back more than just the start
of this. Season it goes back to almost half of

(49:21):
last season as. Well so it feels. Sustainable it feels
like a guy with, confidence and it almost feels like
now he fully trusts his arsenal and the arsenal has
expanded a little bit here in the last couple of,
years and it looks like a guy now that he
compete for a Cy.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
Young he's also done it by throwing the most innings
of any starter that's made four starts up to this,
point so it's not like he's getting five in and
getting out of. There he's also eaten up some innings
for The Cincinnati, reds AND i Think joe in doing
so so much attention has been on how great he's,
been and the strikeout numbers are, High he's actually not
even best on his team from an era. Standpoint that's

(49:55):
the guy that's throwing tonight And Nick ldolo who only
has eight strikeouts through three stars. Arts but is the
greatness and How Hunter green gets it? Done is that
it maybe a reason why That nicolodolo flies under the
radar a little.

Speaker 15 (50:08):
Bit, YEAH i think. SO i think it's a great.
Point AND i think the greatness of What Hunter green
has done is he kind of called his. SHOT i
go back to spring training when he spoke at length
at spring training ahead of the, season with him talking
so much about wanting to go deeper into the games
and not having to wait Until May June, july with
this ramp up period of limiting pitches and getting him

(50:32):
ready and making sure he's all the way there before
they caught him fully loose you're seeing a guy right
now is pitching into the, seventh, eighth ninth inning on
a regular, basis and that's what he wanted to. Do
AND i always find it fascinating with an athlete at
his level can kind of speak into existence what the
next level of his game's going to. Be and he

(50:52):
talked about that in spring, training about the idea that
and he's always been very open with the idea that
he wants to be the ace of the, staff he
wants to be The All, star he wants to win the,
awards but he has to earn that. Stuff AND i
think that was the correct perspective for a guy like,
him who was drafted as high as he, was who
was given the fanfare he was when he was such

(51:13):
a young, player for him to understand the progression and
understand the idea of earning. It and he has gone
out and done, it and he kind of in a
way called a shot to spring on what he wanted
to improve and he's done it so. Far but you
mentioned just in your question there About Nick. Lodolo THAT
i found fascinating About nick through his first three starts
is that he's faced some decent teams RIGHT i, mean

(51:35):
he's faced The giants twice in The Milwaukee brewers that
his three, stars and he's going only giving up two
earned runs in more than eighteen innings. Picks but the
strikeout numbers are, down and that's fine if he's getting
the results he's. Getting because we always looked at him
as almost a nine to ten strikeout per nine inning
kind of. Guy he hasn't been that so far this.

(51:56):
Year and it's okay if the results are out as they.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
Are.

Speaker 15 (52:00):
Now the most important, thing and we all know what
everybody listening to this and knows it is If Nick
lodolo can maintain his. Availability his best ability continues to
be his. Availability and as long as he's there and he's,
healthy when you Have Hunter green And Nick lodolo and
everybody else who makes this rotation, deep long end and

(52:20):
really dangerous at this point if we're looking for what
this team can do over one hundred and sixty two game.
Schedule but when you Have hunter And lodola at the
top of your, rotation you're in a great. Spot and
as long as he's, HEALTHY i think The reds are
in a good spot here to.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
Compete speaking of, Health JOE i think a lot of
people are paying attention today to what The reds are
going to do if they can Get matt McClean, back
If Austin hayes is able to be. Back it feels
Like Tyler stevenson is getting closer from a health, Standpoint
where do things stand and how do you view the
roster shaken?

Speaker 15 (52:50):
Up, yeah so we're going to find out here in
a couple of hours When Terry francona speaks ahead of
this new series against The Seattle, mariners what exactly they're
going to do as far as their the roster. Moves
Certainly sam mull going on the injured list opens up
the spot and that makes for an easy decision whether
That's matt McLain Or Austin hayes being. Ready but today

(53:11):
will be an important day When Terry francono speaks ahead
of this game to find out where they. Are all
signs point to we've been talking about it for a
few days now that That matt McClain returns, here there's
a good Chance Austin hayes could return as soon as.
Today and you mentioned it, Too Tyler, stevenson And i'll
Throw Alexis diaz in there as. Well and Maybe alexis

(53:31):
is a stretch WHEN i say, this but when you
talk About, stevenson McLain And, hayes if you just laid
out the top fifteen to twenty players on this, ROSTER
i mean The reds have been playing without three of
their top fifteen to twenty players here for for several.
Games for most of the. Games when it comes to
Considering stevenson And hayes haven't played a single game. Yet

(53:53):
so you're talking about a team who has been able
to tread, water get themselves back to five, hundred still
have a favorable edule the rest Of april now to
go on a. Run AND i use the words sustainable
With Hunter. Green that's what this has to. Be and
that's my biggest question mark with This red team that
the pitching is going to be. Good we know that

(54:13):
there are so many options even after the top, two
that this team should be able to pitch at a
playoff level for the entire. Season the dips in hitting
is WHAT i worry about for this, team is that
they're going to be too inconsistent to play to consistently
win enough games to get themselves in the. Playoffs that's
why they need, McClain they Need, hayes they Need, stevenson

(54:36):
guys that we know can hit to help supplement an
offense that can be really inconsistent and that time's not.
Good so they need those. Guys and to, me if
those guys can get back and they can produce and
this offense can be just a little bit more, consistent
then you have the makings of a team who's going
to be in this race In, august In.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
September, lastly on The, Reds, joe how MUCH i think
you can break down the schedule and look at different,
Stretches and it's perfectly fine to look at stretches and, say,
man can you come out of that stretch at five?
Hundred can you survive that? Stretch you alluded to. It
this is a stretch you got to. Move this is
a stretch you got to put wins. Together The, Mariners
baltimore is, Struggling you go it To, miami you go To,

(55:17):
Colorado Saint louis comes into. Town how vital is it
for the success of the season to use this stretch
from now to the end Of april to make a
legitimate move in the N All.

Speaker 15 (55:29):
Central i'll say this as we sit here On april,
fifteenth it feels very, important and it feels very important
considering what The cubs have played and will play the
rest of this, month BECAUSE i think we all understand
That milwaukee is just too good of an organization for
them not to be in this. RACE i Think milwaukee's
going to be in this race throughout the entire. Season

(55:51):
but The cubs look really, good and The cubs have
played a really hard. SCHEDULE i think In april they
have sixteen games against The, dodgers The, padres in The.
Phillies so The cubs are knocking out a lot of
really hard series and hard teams to beat early and
they are winning. Games so The reds have those teams
still to come on their. Schedule but you mentioned. IT

(56:14):
i can't decide that The reds are facing The orioles
at the right time or the bad, time because The
oriols are supposed to be a good team and they
aren't playing like it right, now and at some point
the light bulb is going to turn on for that.
Team but then they go on the road After seattle
And baltimore and they play The marlins and The, rockies
and The reds feasted on those two teams last. YEAR

(56:34):
i don't have the numbers in front of, me BUT
i believe they won almost eighty percent of their games
against those two teams last. Year and The rockies look
like a doormat again this. Year The marlins are okay
at least on win boss, Record BUT i think it's
critical right because of what The cubs have played and
what The reds have coming up After, april that they

(56:55):
get a bit of a cushion because the margin for
error we all know what the Red isn't that? Sick
and if they give away games right now against teams
that they should beat or are better, THAN i think
that's going to come back to bite. Them that's WHY
i do think sitting here On april, fifteen it does
feel like an important stretch here the rest of the
month for this team to build up some, wins to

(57:18):
give them just a bigger margin of.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
Error spending a few more minutes here With Joe Danman fox,
nineteen let me switch. Gears we're a week and two
days away from the. Draft we can officially say THE
Nfl draft is next. Week as we sit here, today
how many different options do you think are in play
at seventeen right, now at least from a position, standpoint
because there are a couple THAT i don't see, happening

(57:41):
BUT i could be. CONVINCED o, line, INTERIOR d, line edge,
rush maybe even. Linebacker how many positions do you view
as in play at, Seventeen.

Speaker 15 (57:51):
YEAH i think those are the. FOUR i think. SAFETY
i think safety could be in play, there so that
would be five for. ME i would put as many
as five in play for The bengals at number. Seventeen
if you look at, intier defensive, line defensive, end, linebacker offensive,

(58:13):
line especially, guard and. SAFETY i think those are the
five for, me, Though, Tony my overall thought here on
the draft is and you go, back and ANYTIME i
say this, phrase we all think of one. Thing we
think of The, sixers it's trust the. Process the. Process
for a couple of years now for The, bengals ever
since they knew they had to Pay Joe burrow And
Jamar chase and ultimately had to PAY T higgins as,

(58:36):
well the process was going to be to spend big
money on big contracts on offense and draft draft, draft draft.
Defense they have to fix the. Defense they have to
fix the. Defense they have got to fix the. Defense
AND i understand what this team needs on. Offense right
there's a big hole at offensive. Guard we get, it

(58:59):
and we can has a debate here about non premium.
Position is it a premium position because The bengals don't
have a guard right? Now trust the. Process you gotta draft.
DEFENSE i would have no problem with The bengals spending
the entire first and second days on defense and continuing
to take swings to make this defense better if what's
holding them back right now and offensive guard is not

(59:21):
holding them. Back and you can, argue, yes you have
to protect You burrow get. IT i get. It it's it's.
Fundamental but what held this team back last year has
got to be. Fixed and SO i would even take
offensive guard off the teable of seventeen and, say you
have to have to draft defense and fix this. Defense

(59:43):
trust the. Process the process was always fixing the defense
through the.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
Draft with as much as we've had that conversation and
talked about, it and now the amount of money tied
up in the, offense do you think that will change
anything about the way they approached the. Draft maybe more,
aggressive maybe more app to, trade maybe something different about
the way that they evaluate. Players do you think the
pressure that is built over the last couple of years

(01:00:10):
of them failing will change anything about the way they
actually go about the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
PROCESS i think.

Speaker 15 (01:00:17):
They, should AND i think they would listen to moving
down in the first round because what they would get at,
SEVENTEEN i think they can get at you, know name
your number later in the first, round twenty, three twenty,
five whatever it. IS i think they did that back
in twenty. Twelve was the last time to move down
in the first. Round the problem, IS i don't know

(01:00:37):
if any teams who are below them in the first
round are going to give, up say a third or
fourth round to move up to The bengals. SPOT i
just don't know if there's going to be a trade
partner for them to make that time to MOVE i
think they should be aggressive to your, point you, know
with what they've done investing in the offense and opening
that windows so wide that they need to step through

(01:00:59):
it and go ahead and get it. Done BUT i
just don't know if there's going to be a trade
partner for them to want to do. It, now say
they get to the second round and there's a guy they,
love And i'm just gonna pull a name out because
he's been talked about a lot here And i've talked
about him, TOO a guy Like Zavier, Watts, okay a
safety that can step in and be an instant difference

(01:01:21):
maker for this. TEAM a guy That i'm Sure Al
golden loves from working with him At Notre. Dame he
fits the position The bengals need a. Safety he's a.
Ballhawk he had thirteen interceptions the last two. Seasons The
bengals drafted forty. NINE i don't know if he's going
to be, there but if he's there, right say like
forty or forty, one that would be the time for

(01:01:42):
me If i'm The, bengals WHERE i would get really
aggressive and want to move up and get my, guy
especially If Al golden's going to be Like Ethan hawke
And Dead Poet society and stand up on the table
and say this is my, guy go get. Him the
problem is estophically, right The bengals just want more. Picks

(01:02:03):
they only have six. Picks The bangles love to have.
Picks so moving up in the, draft what almost you
would say, fundamentally say, oh they have to give up
something to get, something so they're likely not going to
give up picks just to move. Up BUT i Think
austin's point is right about being, aggressive changing philosophically how
you do. THINGS i do think The bengals should be

(01:02:24):
and would be open to moving down to the first
round BECAUSE i think they can get whatever they were
going to get at seventeen something very similar to that
a few picks. LATER i just don't know if there's
going to be any teams who want to move. Up
but Maybe Shador sanders is, there right and it's love
With Shador, standers and a team wants to move up
to seventeen to Get Shador, standers and they're willing to

(01:02:45):
give up a fourth round, Pick and at that, point
maybe you take the. Call you listen to that. SCENARIO
i think that could be. Interesting if you find ONE
Qb meeting team that wants to move, up that could
be a difference maker for.

Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
Them have you ever heard of anything dumber Than colorado
retiring should Or sanders.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
To say how much does that help his draft stock
that his jersey's going to be. Retired Travis hunter deserves, it, Right,
yes yes he.

Speaker 15 (01:03:12):
Does what were the all time great players in program.
History you guys Mentioned Cordell. Stewart how about a guy
Like eric The, enemy who is the star player on
a national championship team At. Colorado is his jersey retired By?
Colorado if it, Is i'll gladly Say i'm. Mistaken but
not only does Should Door sanders not deserve to have

(01:03:33):
his jersey? Retired the timing of it is, Awful like
these these are things you wait years in advance to
do or years down the. Road it's it's it reeks
a Beyond, sanders and it's it's just not a good.
Look Travis, hunter Absolutely Heisman trophy, winner going to be
a top two or three, pick is going to be

(01:03:54):
a GREAT nfl. Player you want to retire his? Jersey
i'm cool with. That Shandor sanders was a pretty good
college quarterback who didn't accomplish much as a. Team you,
know his team didn't accomplish. MUCH i don't love. IT
i think it's a bad look and it's kind of
disappointing quite.

Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
Honestly The enemy does, not But Rashan salaam does have
his jersey retired By. Colorado for what it's, worth real quick.
Trophy there you, go real. Quick, uh the The Trey
hendrickson conversation hasn't changed. MUCH i did see that SOME
menfl executives had talked about that there are numerous teams
that have dangled mid round picks to The bengals For Trey.
Hendrickson we know they're not going to bite on. That

(01:04:32):
but with what you just talked about with draft picks
and how The bengals view, them do you think there's
a possibility On Draft night that someone does maybe offer
a late first or would The bengals maybe get something
done even with the second round pick as it gets
closer to the, draft or do you think they hold
tight With trey.

Speaker 15 (01:04:50):
And no one likes to be on the wrong side
of history and say with one certainty that's not going to.
HAPPEN i would be absolutely floored that The bengals may
made a draft night trade With Trey. HENDERSON i THINK
i think all of us are just kind of a
little bit fatigued with The Trey henderson storyline here in

(01:05:11):
the off. SEASON i still maintain he's going to be
A bengal in twenty twenty. Five what it looks like
for his contract will is to be. Determined how it
plays out of the offseason and then training camp is
to be. Determined i'll be absolutely shocked if he is
a trade night trade or a draft night trade for

(01:05:32):
The Cincinnati. BENGALS i fully expect him to. BE i
think from the beginning this was The bengals plan was
they understood what he would find out once he went
out there and talk to people and put his name
out of the, market that he was going to come
back and understand that his value probably isn't as high
as maybe he thinks it is because he is a
bit of a. Specialist it's one hell of a. Specialty

(01:05:55):
it's one of the most important specialties in THE. Nfl
but he is a specialist of getting to the court
back and sacking the. Quarterback the mid round stuff is
not gonna. FLY i don't think anybody's going to offer
a first round, pick AND i think The bengals understood
that when they when they granted him his wish to
go out and seek a. Trade he's gonna be A
bengal in twenty twenty five Until i'm told. Otherwise but

(01:06:18):
what the contract looks, like what he's, COMPENSATED i think
that's to be determined AND i don't think that changes
on draft night.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Before we let you, Go. JOE i know THE uc
baseball squad has been playing really. Well they come off
a series win Against Arizona. State they Get xavier. Today
have you found a way or can you coin a
catchy term For? XAVIER uc on the, Diamond austin came
up with crossdown. Strikeout that's our, best that's our leader
in the. Clubhouse to this, POINT.

Speaker 15 (01:06:43):
I like pitch. Out the cross town pitch out have
to be something without. RIGHT i mean out is just
there on the table because out of such a fundamental
part of a baseball, game and it's coincides with the.
SHOOTOUT i don't have a great slogan for, it BUT
i do think It's look if you're if you're a
casual sports fan looking FOR i know it's freezing. Outside

(01:07:05):
it's terrible to try to pitch this on a night like.
This you Seen xavier are? Good, yes you've seen him
the upper half of The big twelve. Standings LAST i,
Look xavier was top twenty in the country IN rpi
because they scheduled so hard to try to get themselves
back to THE ncaa. Tournament it's a good baseball. Game

Speaker 2 (01:10:22):

Days?

Speaker 17 (01:11:18):
Anyway?

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
Wow i'm not SURE i know what that. Means? Wow
is that like a movie? Reference? NOW i think space
cadet just means like you're kind of just out of,
it you, think so you just live out of. IT
i don't think that that's what was that's, HIS i
guess view of. It space.

Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
Cadet informal meaning of space cadet is a person perceived
is out of touch with, reality as though high on. Drugs, Interesting,
jim that's kind of like the pot calling the kettle.

Speaker 18 (01:11:48):

Yeah Major Apple White Colonel Banana, Black Corporal Hornet Mellon.

Men there was it the right.

Speaker 8 (01:17:01):
Move to Trade Luis, Castio, yeah but they didn't get.

Speaker 15 (01:17:04):
ENOUGH i, mean not a single one of those players
he named has made an impact at any level in
the three years.

Speaker 5 (01:17:09):
Since we Traded.

Speaker 15 (01:17:10):
Testio he was a stat.

Speaker 8 (01:17:12):
ACE i, mean at least one of those guys you
got should be contributing against some level with the major league.

Speaker 15 (01:17:17):
CLUB i, mean that's that's a loss for The. Rets.

Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
Yeah that like that to me is. Fair and if
there was other if there was ten to fifteen interested,
TEAMS i would like to know what the other offers.
Were of course you can't go back and look at that,
now but it was the right move to trade him
at that.

Speaker 3 (01:17:34):

President unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
Work, Wow georgia and getting close to a national championship.

Speaker 14 (01:18:56):
TROPHY I i'd say With, lodolo it's a little more
being reserved just because we haven't seen a long body of.
Work we haven't seen him go more than a few
starts in a row without being disabled, Somehow SO i
think until he does, that we'll probably come around a
little bit. More but at this, point he is what he.

Speaker 17 (01:19:18):
Is, yeah just wondering what you guys think about possibly
shopping some of this pitching.

Around a little earlier and not wait till the trade.

Deadline what you if you can get a battle a little,
early it might be a little more.

Speaker 15 (01:19:34):
Helpful what your, thoughts.

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
What pitching are you shopping?

Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
AROUND i think it's impossible to say that or make
a decision on that until you see what the team
looks like when it's fully.

Speaker 19 (01:19:44):

Open back you up here after segment one of our three, five, one, three, seven, four,
nine fifteen. Thirty let's let's let's cover both sides of
the ball. Here let's do THE o, Line let's do

(01:30:43):
THE d. Line let's start with the defensive. Line there
was a Report Washington. Post jason lockinfora reported the following
update On Trey. Hendrickson he, said trust, me the rest
of the league is watching closely to SEVERAL nfl executives
who have gauged The bengals trade interest On, hendrickson speaking

(01:31:04):
on the condition of being anonymous because they are not
permitted to publicly discuss players under contract with another. Team
The bengals want first round value for the veteran if
they do deal. Him numerous teams have dangled mid round
picks to The bengals to no. Avail we brought this
up To Joe daniman earlier in the, show And i'm
in agreement with What Joe danoman. Said at this, point

(01:31:27):
it feels highly unlikely that we See Trey hendrickson dealt
at any point this. Offseason it feels more and more
likely to me that The bengals And Trey, hendrickson at
least for twenty twenty, five are going to be on
the same. Team that being, said it does not shy
away from defensive line still being a priority in the upcoming. DRAFT.

(01:31:51):
Espn earlier, Today Courtney cronin wrote about the defensive tackle
position in THE nfl and asked the, question will it
be the top draft position from the? Draft go, ahead
and let's see What Ryan poles of The Chicago bears
has done this. Cycle they have added multiple defensive, linemen

(01:32:16):
and When poles was asked about, why he simply, said
you all watched The Super, bowl, Right you'll want to
have waves of pass. Rushers philadelphia Sacked Patrick mahomes six
times in That Super. Bowl we talked right after The
Super bowl about how uncomfortable it made the best quarterback

(01:32:37):
in many accounts in football look in a game where
he was pressured and never able to feel. Comfortable The
Kansas City chiefs also prioritize defensive line their defensive line
just didn't get home as much As philly. Did in
the championship. Game defensive Tackle Milton williams was one that
registered two sacks and also forced to fumble and recovered

(01:32:59):
a five in a rotational role in The Super. Bowl
milton then got four years and one hundred and four
million dollars from The New England. Patriots BUT i, look
much Like Ryan pohle, said look at The Super, bowl
look at the path to. Victory and you could talk
about the greatness Of mahomes And Andy reid And Travis.
Kelcey they were made to look pedestrian because of the

(01:33:22):
dominant defensive line play from The Philadelphia. Eagles now it's
not easy to replicate. That that's why The eagles are
the world. Champions Howie, roseman he pulls the right strings
more often than. Not but it does show the value
of the interior part of the defensive. Line and we've
talked about, it but so much about d line as
the edge rushers and the sack Totals Trey, Hendrickson Miles, GARRETT.

(01:33:47):
Tj watt and. Company but if you really sit back and,
look and this is me speaking now on behalf of
from a former quarterback, STANDPOINT i can navigate a little
bit easier edge, pressure THEN i could navigate up the
middle pressure defensive tackle and what that position means in

(01:34:07):
this year's. Draft if you've got pressure in your face
as a, quarterback you cannot step and drive the. Ball
if you've got pressure in your face as a, quarterback
you've got to make the decision how to get out
of that, pressure which is a lot more difficult because you're.
Taught If i've got outside pressure to my right as a,
quarterback more often than, Not i'm going to push up

(01:34:27):
and escape. Right If i've got outside pressure from my blind,
side more often than, Not i'm going to spin out of,
it Or i'm going to push up and get. Out
what happens when the interior defensive line becomes a. Problem
it takes your options. Away you can't just push up
because there's pressure in the, face so you have to retreat,
more which allows the defensive ends a little more. Time
we talk all the time about pocket depth and where

(01:34:50):
a quarterback is. Setting guess what you set deeper when
the defensive line interior wise gives you. Fits that is
why The bengals tried to prioritize defensive. Line last, Year Chris, jenkins, McKinley,
jackson Bj hill was member of this. Defense they Tried Larry, Jogan,

(01:35:12):
joby they Tried Sheldon. Rankins they realized the value they
just missed On. Rankins they used two draft picks at the.
Position but the faster route to the quarterback is up the.
Middle puncturing the pocket from the inside is the goal
of the. DEFENSE i started watching third and longs from

(01:35:33):
last year for The Cincinnati bengals. Today twenty nine times
they were sacked on third and nine or third and
seven or. More twenty nine Times Joe burrow was sacked
on third and seven or. More majority of those sacks
came from the interior part of the defensive. Line now
you could, say, well that's even more reason to talk about,
guard and we. Will but the ability of a team
to pressure a, quarterback an elite quarterback up the, middle

(01:35:55):
can make that quarterback look less. Elite it's What Patrick
Mahoe holmes was unable to do in The Super. Bowl
he never was able to look, comfortable never got it.
Going it's what happened To Joe burrow at times this.
Year pressure up the middle creates. Issues last last, season
players lined up along the interior defensive line recorded the

(01:36:16):
most combined sacks and pressures for the position since tracking
began in twenty. Seventeen twenty five hundred and ninety five
total socks and pressures came from the interior part of
the defensive. Line when you add that to some needs
that The bengals have and a very deep defensive line,
class it's easy to see and make the case why

(01:36:41):
defensive tackle could be a position of. Need at seventeen
four tackles were taking day one in twenty twenty. Three
If i'm trying to, build, YES i need more From,
OSAI i need more From Miles. MURPHY i Need Trey.
Hendrickson but so many times last year we talked About
Trey hendrickson doing it by. Himself you've got to be

(01:37:02):
able to do multiple, things and the interior defensive line
of The bengals was not good. Enough are they, Young,
yes they need to take a step, there but they
need some dominance on the interior part of the defensive.
Line and if they can do, that they can successfully
affect and impact the quarterback no matter who they're, playing
and find ways to be successful. Interior defensive line is.

(01:37:23):
Elite you don't have to be elite in the back
end because you're not asking guys to cover as. Long
interior part of the defensive line is. Elite quarterback can't
be as accurate because they don't get to take that
normal step and. Drive the arm mangle has to change.
Right you have to elevate things because of hands and
pressure in your. Face it affects the mental and the
physical side of the, quarterback and from, experience it doesn't

(01:37:44):
allow us scaping the pocket as easy as just edge
pressure from the right or edge pressure from the left would.
Do Trey hendrickson needs. Help the sacks he had alone
last year were not. Enough he needs help from the
interior to force quarterbacks out and not up and out
in the. Pocket AND i think that's why the emphasis
on defensive line is going to be really important this.

(01:38:04):
Turnaround just go run in the. Draft it, also Though
austin raises the question when you think about where The
bengals were deficient last year on the offensive, line because
a lot of the SACKS i watched, today you see
how bad the guard play was and how bad they
were at handling different. Stunts third and lung is not

(01:38:25):
an enviable, position but the guard play was bad in
so many ways last. Year and our Guy Paul Dayner,
junior AND i know you read the Peace, austin So
i'll let you elaborate a little. MORE i know he
went into a little bit more detail today on the
importance of the offensive line and maybe where The bengals
have failed in recent years in the.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
Draft you, KNOW i would kind of start by responding
to what you said about the defensive. Line the WAY
i look at The bengals right, NOW i get the
feeling that they are more likely to draft a safety
or an edge, rusher or an offensive lineman or a

(01:39:05):
linebacker in their first pick than they are a defensive
lineman interior defensive. Line and the REASON i say that,
is keep in, mind they just reinvested In Bjy hill
thirty plus million. Dollars they Took Chris jenkins with the
second round pick last. Year they kind of, reached but

(01:39:26):
went after McKinley jackson last year as, well went after
him earlier in the, draft and they probably thought they
would have. To they invested two premium picks in that
position in the last, year and they just re upped
another one In Bjy, hill not a premium, pick but

(01:39:47):
re upped financially committing to That Cam sample, returns And
Cam sample is a guy that we've seen bump to
the inside to play against the run at. Times so
for those three, REASONS i look at it and, Say,
okay they Probably i'm not saying they're. Right i'm not
saying they should be doing. This i'm saying they're probably
looking at the interior of the defensive line saying we

(01:40:08):
don't need to spend one of our first two picks on.

Speaker 2 (01:40:09):
Theos WHICH i think is an okay way of. Thinking
BUT i don't think any of those names you listed are, elite.
RIGHT i agree with.

Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
YOU i agree with, You and so the only WAY
i see that happening is if there is somebody that
they just totally fall in love with and he's. There
let's say It's Derek harmon at number, seventeen the defensive
lineman out Of. Oregon if they're crazy about, him then,
okay you, KNOW i could see that, happening BUT i

(01:40:37):
think the moves that they've made in the offseason.

Speaker 2 (01:40:40):
Would suggest they. Won't.

Speaker 3 (01:40:41):
Sure the other thing is from an offensive line, STANDPOINT
i just don't know that where they are at in
the draft order would make sense for them to pick
an offensive lineman at. Seventeen you could probably still get
somebody that can come in and have a role and potentially,

(01:41:03):
start whether that's beyond number seventeen in the draft or
in your second round. Pick and so THAT i think
is a really interesting part when you have the conversation
about them potentially trading, back and so when you look
at their offensive. Line you mentioned That paul had written about.
It what we know historically about The bengals is that

(01:41:25):
they draft to replace. Players they usually screw up the
offseason to a point where they don't have the, ability
or they don't believe in or they don't however you
want to say, it don't draft the best player available
because they have to draft for, need because they always
screw up the. Offseason and so looking at, It Ted

(01:41:47):
kerris his contract expires after this, Season Lucas patrick the same.
Way Cordell volson as, Well Jackson, kirkland all those, dudes
they're contract expires this. Year like they're done after this
season at the. Moment fast forward to twenty twenty. Six
Orlando Brown, junior his contract is, Up Cody fourth's contract is,
up so the only offensive lineman under contract past twenty

(01:42:13):
twenty six Is Amarus. Mims that's a sobering, reality isn't.
It yeah like that to me would look at it and, Say, okay, well,
gosh we just locked Up burrow And chase And higgins
and they're gonna be here for the next four, years
so we should probably get somebody to protect these. Dudes
and as excited as a lot of us are About Amarius,

(01:42:34):
mimes he has a history of being. Injured so to,
me what makes the most sense is trade back and
get an offensive, lineman or multiple offensive, linemen whatever you
want to shake it, up but get more picks in
the top three rounds so that you can take offensive.
Lineman these are the ten offensive linemen that The bengals

(01:42:58):
have drafted in rounds, two two through five in the
last ten. Years are you ready for this?

Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
List? Yes Cordell vohlson not.

Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
Good Jake, Fisher Michael jordan he, got he, Got Joe
burrow killed in washing Basketball Jackson carmen not. Good Christian
westerman wasn't a great. Player no relation To Christian. Easterman Deontae,
SMITH Jj. Dielman that's the. List that's the, list and

(01:43:26):
the only, contributor As paul notes in his, piece real
contributor Is Cordel. VOLSON i started fifty one, games including
the playoffs before he got His he lost his job last.

Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
YEAR i saw the list From paul where he highlighted
the offensive line picks in round two through five in
the last ten. Years and for The bengals that only
made up eighty eight starts in the players they. Took that.

Speaker 3 (01:43:49):
Ridiculous that's second to last in the, league behind The. Browns,
yeah The, Jets, bengals And browns are the last three
on that, list and you never ever want to be
in company with The jets and The Browns'.

Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
That's the issue is, That, yes on one, HAND i
want to say draft offensive, line and on one, HAND i, say,
okay it's a new offensive line, Coach Scott. Peters maybe
he'll be more successful at the drafting and. Development maybe
there are players on the roster they feel like they
can develop and get more out of than they were
Under Frank. Pollock but the sobering, reality it's one thing
to say we need o line. Help it's one thing

(01:44:22):
to say you need to go get a. Guard it's
another thing to draft that guy, successfully and that is
what The bengals have failed at. Doing so you, know
can they write that ship in a year where everyone
has said the same, Thing bengals can't miss in the
draft this. Year bengals can't miss in the. Draft this.
Year you paid all that money to all those offensive.
Weapons you can't miss in the. Draft, okay you have

(01:44:44):
missed historically on offensive. Linemen you're gonna get that right
or do you value the interior d line or do
you go? Safety like there are a ton of options
that they could do Next, thursday but there is a
little bit of pause for. Me as much AS i
want and say and think they guard that they go
successfully do. It which is WHY i was much more
on board early in the offseason to go get some

(01:45:06):
of the premier guards, available which they didn't. Do it
puts much more emphasis on Next thursday And.

Speaker 3 (01:45:11):
Friday, YEAH i, mean there has to be something that
they can do to fix this, problem which is the
inability to draft and develop these. Linemen and maybe it
is as simple as a new offensive line coach Op
so now we saw it With Jim turner and that
did not work out With Billy. Price we saw it

(01:45:32):
With Jackson carmen And Frank pollack And Cordell volsen and
that didn't work out, either where they got a new
offensive line coach and then they invested draft capital in that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:42):
POSITION i don't know the answer to. THIS i don't
know the.

Speaker 3 (01:45:46):
Answer you can get a really athletic. Dude you can
get somebody who's not as. Athletic you can get ginormous
people that are six foot seven three and forty.

Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
Pounds none of them have.

Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
Worked so that again is something where you could maybe
look at the scheme And Zach taylor and, say does
that hurt his offensive? Line is that a difficult scheme
for offensive lineman to be successful? In and, again kind
of going back to last, year we saw hints of,
formations run game, changes the drafting Of eric all keeping

(01:46:20):
drew sample around that might, Say, okay they're looking to
be much more efficient in the run, game and maybe
that'll help the offensive. Line but, overall it feels like
a difficult scheme for those players and it makes drafting
them really.

Speaker 2 (01:46:36):
Hard Maybe Scott peters comes in and he watches the
tape and he looks and he says, AH i THINK
i can get more out Of Cody, ford AND i
THINK i can get more out Of, ulson AND i
THINK i can get more out Of Alex kappa or
players of that. Nature do you think there was any of?
That and Not alex cap obviously, now but do you
think there could have been any of that behind the

(01:46:58):
scenes that may have pawed or cause them not to
go out and spend more at the guard to, say,
okay like we need the honest. Assessment do you see
something here that maybe was missed, for like you, said
from a scheme standpoint or from a coaching or development,
standpoint do you see the foundation here that you can
build around that you're confident that these players we, have

(01:47:20):
with a little tinkering can be. Enough and if, so
then we wait and see how it plays. Out AND
i think you're a pretty good understanding after Next friday
of the draft to see how the first couple of rounds.
Go BUT i Think Scott peters plays a bigger role
in this than maybe we've talked about up to this.

Speaker 3 (01:47:34):
Point you, know you have to make room for that
possibility that that conversation was, had for, Sure but if
they don't spend at least one of their top three
picks on that. Position, yeah and then they deserve all
the criticism that they're gonna. Get, yeah that would be
a joke of a franchise type of move to not

(01:47:56):
invest in that.

Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
Position.

Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
Yep and again we're already in a situation where because
they have failed so much in the, offseason they've pigeonholed
themselves into having to take needs over best player. Available,
now hopefully they change that and they, say you know,
what screw, It we're taking the best player on our
board every. Time and if it's a tight, end it's

(01:48:20):
a tight. End if it's a, guard it's a. Guard
if it's an edge, rusher it's an edge. Rusher if
it's a, linebacker it's a. Linebacker they have to get
better at.

Speaker 15 (01:48:28):
That and.

Speaker 3 (01:48:32):
Maybe something. HAPPENS i THINK i saw our Friend John
sheeran outlining. This maybe something happens where they take A
Malachi starks And Donovan jackson or something along those, lines
AND i would be thrilled with both those picks in
the first, two or maybe A Derek harmon and A
Xavier watts and, like, okay here's two defensive linemen and

(01:48:53):
maybe that gives them the chance to bump up the
offer To Brandon. Shurf see if he comes. Out, SURE
i don't, KNOW i could still be in. Playing it
could theoretically still be in. Play but the fact that
you have put yourself in this position makes drafting, harder
and that is what drives me, nuts and that's what
drives so Many bengals fans nuts because this organization has

(01:49:16):
a history of making everything harder on, itself from drafting
offensive linemen to contract negotiations with your star players to
not being able to adequately submit a financing proposal for
funding to the. State they screw everything, up and it's
just it's mind blowing that they are so bad at the,

(01:49:40):
basics and you just hope that they are smart enough
to put good, players that they get lucky enough to
put good players Around Joe.

Speaker 2 (01:49:47):
BURROW a lot's going to be talked about between now
and Next, thursday and a lot's going to be analyzed
based on what they do Next. Thursday before we wrap this,
segment a significant amount of money for you from a betting,
standpoint right, now make the pick at, seventeen trade up
or trade. Back you put your money on trade. Back,
Yes i'm gonna say for, now they make the pick at.

(01:50:08):
Seventeen i'm gonna say they make the pick if It's Malachi. Starks,
Okay i'm gonna say they trade back if he's Going.
Okay we'll talk about some of those mock, drafts a
fun little article the number one picks from two thousand
to twenty twenty, five and some phone. Calls. Next Since
he three, SIXTY espn fifteen Thirty Cincinnati Sports, station thanks
To Penn.

Speaker 15 (01:50:28):
Station now your chance to win up.

Speaker 1 (01:50:30):
Them cincy three sixty is back ON espn fifteen Thirty
Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 2 (01:50:36):
Station welcome, Back Since he three, SIXTY espn fifteen Thirty
Cincinnati Sports, station thanks To Penn. STATION i wrote something

(01:50:57):
down that we didn't get to AND i want to
get back to football here in just a, Second. Austin
but did you see? Yesterday it was a post By Jason.
Grilly did you see this the lifetime pass a Former
big Leaguer Jason? Grilly, yes, No so he posted a
picture of this lifetime, pass AND i think not a

(01:51:18):
lot of people knew about. It but if you have
eight years of service or more In Major League, baseball
you get the lifetime. Pass it's essentially a golden. Ticket
you can go to any ballpark in the, country you
show them your lifetime, pass and you get, tickets two
tickets to the best seats available in the park for.
Free that's pretty. Cool so yesterday he used his to

(01:51:39):
take his son to go See Paul. Skeins brenton suitor
just got his when The reds were In. Millwak really cool,
man and it was kind of a cool little thing
that they surprised him with. Beforehand but, yeah it's it's
kind of one of those little secrets Around Major League
baseball that not a lot of people know, about But
i've seen. HIM i think The reds have a few
of them on display at The Red's hall Of fame

(01:52:04):
from some of their former. Players AND i want to
Say marty has. One, Two, yeah twenty five years of
service from a staff. Member, yeah so, yeah they have
a few of them on. Display it's really. Neat. Yeah
Mel kiper and Field yates predicted the first three rounds
of THE Nfl draft as a mock, draft and Field

(01:52:26):
yates had The bengals at, seventeen Taking Walter. NOLAN i
don't think this is the name we've talked about Much Walter,
nolan defensive tackle out Of Old. Miss nolan is a
disruptive interior. Rusher best snaps show pure. Dominance finding more
consistency would unlock his next level in his. Game that
would certainly pair with the defensive line conversation that we

(01:52:47):
talked about a little bit earlier in this. Hour so
and then they backed it up in the second round
with the guy we've talked about, Today Xavier wats From Notre.
Dame just a lot of ways that makes sense mm.
Hmm with With Al golden now being the defensive, coordinator
they did venture into the third round and then the
third Round Austin Jack. Sawyer that's a good place for

(01:53:10):
From Ohio state to The Cincinnati. Bengals, LISTEN i would
love to Have Jack sawyer like first team all good guy.
Leader he's gonna give you everything he's.

Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
Got he's more athletic Than Sam hubbard ever, was so
you have maybe a little bit more to work. With
but he's not going to come in right away and
Be Trey, hendrickson so you need he needs some time
there and maybe a year Under trey and some of
those other. GUYS I trey ever practices or shows up
will be worthy of that.

Speaker 2 (01:53:42):
Pick i'm.

Speaker 3 (01:53:43):
NOT i just want to Clarify i'm not Being Ohio state.
Homer Jack sawyer is worthy of a. Pick, YEAH i
just want to do yeah, Correct, YEAH i agree with.
That before a, break we got a. Call we got
to meet him yesterday in. Studio now call. Him what's,
Up dick.

Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
And.

Speaker 23 (01:54:01):
Austin i've never seen anything as beautiful AND i felt so.
Good dave was just. Thrilled we were listening To Rocket.
Roll but it was a pleasure to meet you.

Speaker 2 (01:54:11):
Too, Yeah, dick it was great to meet you. Yesterday
happy belated birthday as. Well we hope you enjoyed your. Stay.

Speaker 23 (01:54:17):

KNOW i got to Meet Willie Scott, Sloan. OH i
wanted to tell you if you ever, Listened Jerry jeff did.
UH i wanted to play for you guys. Too may
you can record?

Speaker 7 (01:54:31):
Me?

Speaker 15 (01:54:32):
Uh he.

Speaker 23 (01:54:32):
DID i did THE mta on his. Nightcap but that's
a beautiful. BUILDING i was so. GLAD i HOPE i
can come down.

Speaker 21 (01:54:39):
More.

Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
Yeah that was, Awesome, dick thank you for. That we appreciate.

Speaker 23 (01:54:42):
It, okay talk to, you.

Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
Lady yes see YOU i have a great.

Speaker 4 (01:54:45):
One.

Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
Man that's. Awesome happy belated birthday, There. Dick mike is
calling it as. Well what's, Up?

Speaker 7 (01:54:50):
Mike well that was the fastest, Turn.

Speaker 4 (01:54:56):
Mike you guys are just getting better and.

Speaker 7 (01:54:59):
Better that's what it, right right right in your, case
there's no room for. Improvement you guys got it wired
down to a. Science, yeah you might want to give
you might want to give a few, lessons mister man
the man that ought to be his theme. Song That
beatles song where they talk about the Egg man.

Speaker 15 (01:55:20):
Would be really.

Speaker 7 (01:55:22):
Cool SO i just don't, see, okay see winning this.
Thing i'll tell you. What lebron's haven't been happier and
his wife to have a score like this guy with
and Plus reeves is no joke scoring. Either SO i don't.
KNOW i think The lakers And warriors are still. DANGEROUS

(01:55:42):
i just don't know If oka's got what it takes
you guys to really to win the whole, thing do you.

Speaker 2 (01:55:49):
KNOW i haven't got to see him. Enough AND i
know that a lot of their success relies On Shay
Gilders alexander getting to the free throw line a, Lot
BUT i always am, hesitant AS i as With duke
in THE ncaa, tournament when you've got a roster compiled
of so many young guys and not as many, veterans
when it gets to those crucial, moments what does that

(01:56:10):
look like for The Oklahoma City Thunder and if things
play out the way that that they. SHOULD i think
even the conference, semifinals if you get a guy like
The joker and The nuggets who have been there, before
that's going to be a, test as well as The
clippers With Kawhi leonard in. COMPANY i think it it's
fun for basketball that some of these younger teams and

(01:56:32):
teams that have have struggled as of late are. Successful
but it's a completely different animal from the regular season
to the.

Speaker 7 (01:56:38):
Playoffs AND i think This cavs, TEAM i love this.
Team i'll tell you WHAT i love about They their
camaraderie seems to be off the. Truck, yes these guys get,
along they pump each other. UP i think they're gonna
Give boston a real. CHALLENGE i really. DON'T i hope they.
Don't i'd love to See captain in the championship. Again

(01:56:58):
that'd be a. Blast and can you, quickly give, me
give me BECAUSE i don't Know. Jack i'm had a
moment to check on The. Mariners so their strength as they're,
pitching AND i know their center fielder is all. World
other than that what they've, Got, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:57:14):
Austin austin kind of alluded to him yesterday as a
similar situation to The. Reds really good, pitching hitting is.
Underperformed it was a team that's expected to compete in
their division and they got a Former Red Luis castillo
on the mounta to.

Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
Night, also, well they've got the big dumper they call,
him Cal raleigh behind the behind the. Plate how about
this for a, Stat, Mike you ready for? This most
home runs in their first five career seasons In mariners hit,
History Ken Griffy, Junior Alvin, Davis Alex, Rodriguez Jim, presley

(01:57:45):
and Cal. Raleigh he's got incredible power behind the, plate
the Big dumper they call. Him and he set the
franchise record for the most home runs by a catcher
On friday, night which was his ninety. Six then he's
up to ninety eight, Total so very impressive. Catcher mike Cal, rally.

Speaker 7 (01:58:05):
That's the coolest Stat i've heard in a long. Time
god bless you for that, One. Austin that's a.

Speaker 15 (01:58:09):
Winner.

Speaker 7 (01:58:09):
Brother, NO i don't know how you did, that but
that's pretty. Impressive you must have your head in that.

Speaker 15 (01:58:15):
RESEARCH i don't know how you did, it but that's.

Speaker 7 (01:58:18):
Impressive thanks for the. Knowledge have a great, show.

Speaker 2 (01:58:20):
Fella thank you have a great. One appreciate thanks.

Speaker 15 (01:58:23):
You.

Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
Yeah how about, this so most home runs first five
career seasons In mariner's. History Ken Griffy junior has one
hundred and thirty. Two it was pretty good. Stretch Alvin
davis had one hundred and, TEN A rod one oh,
Six Jim pressley one oh, three And.

Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
Cal raley ninety, eight the Big. DUMPER i like. THAT
i got another stat for. You shout out to The.

Speaker 3 (01:58:43):
Mariners i've never had this happen before where an opposing
team has sent me the game notes and The mariners.
DID i don't even know how they got my, information
but shout out to The. Mariners Luis castillo has induced
one thousand and eighty swings and misses since making His
maritor's debut In august of twenty twenty. Two that is

(01:59:04):
the most in The American league during that, span and
second most in the, majors behind Only Dylan.

Speaker 2 (01:59:11):
Cease, wow pretty. Good that's a nugget for you. There

COACH Pja street AT Pja street And revive fifth The
systems to get some comprehensive app based coaching and everything
you need to get right for the summertime and get.

(02:00:13):
Percent Say Edge rusher thirty nine percent say offensive, line
and a tie for third at seven percent saying defensive
back and seven percent saying. Other the three responses for
other there was more than, that but the only people
that replied our, Guy liam said wide. Receiver, okay he's

(02:00:33):
not a bright. Fella tom said, LINEBACKER i understand, that
And kevin said best player.

Speaker 2 (02:00:39):
AVAILABLE i could be talked into interior defensive, lineman BUT
i think edge rusher is probably the top spot right.

Speaker 3 (02:00:50):
Now IF i were voting that pole. Question brought to
you By revivefitnessystems dot. Com this, lineup all things are different?
Now is how The reds Will we'll begin tonight's three
games set against The Seattle. Mariners by the, way back
to back, years The mariners have played a series In
seattle or played a series against The reds in this

(02:01:12):
date fifteen sixteen. Seventeen that's kind of. Fun last year
The mariner swept The. Reds hopefully the red sweep The
mariners this year game seventeen of one to sixty. Two
here's how they'll line, up leading off playing center, FIELD. Tj,
friedel batting, second playing second. Base matt. McClain the third

(02:01:32):
baseman is the, Shortstop elie de La cruz batting, fourth
playing left. Field Gavin, lux the fifth, batter is the designated.
Hitter Austin Hayes, future batting sixth and playing third base
for some, reason Jaymer candelario, ninth batting sixth and playing first,
Base Christian incarnassion, Twice strand batting seventh and playing first,

(02:01:54):
Base Christian Incarnassion strand batting eighth and playing right, Field

no he usually just entered the studio. Normally, yeah today
he burst in. Here goodbye the, Excitement And i'm assuming
it's because you just saw The reds lineup as, well
and what they're going to do offensively tonight seems to
be a little pep in the step.

Speaker 10 (02:03:15):
Today you, know many of thought that once The reds
Got Austin hayes back And Matt McLean, returned that you
could hold this up against the nineteen seventy five lineup
and make a fair. Comparison, yeah So i'm excited to
do that. Today what are you gonna talk about? Today
we have Two pats and A.

Speaker 2 (02:03:31):

Me to be, Honest AS i get, Older i'm learning
that there are certain things THAT i can't watch because
it physically makes me.

Speaker 2 (02:03:53):
UNCOMFORTABLE i have to turn it. Off and that was
one of. Them so after fourteen.

Speaker 10 (02:03:57):
Seconds so for those who don't, KNOW i guess The
land Of BRAVES tv guy their equivalent of Like Jim

the play by, play and Color guy got the girl's
phone number at a game In, toronto got it on LIVE. Tv,
Yeah and some people have said pretty, slick pretty, Entertaining
some are. Cringe some are pointing out that there's a
bit of a double standard because a female. Reporter i'm

(02:04:21):
struggling with HOW i feel about, This, OKAY i. Am
i'm legitimately struggling with HOW i feel about. This SO
i need someone to tell me HOW i should feel about.

Speaker 2 (02:04:29):
This what'd you make Of Bill belichick's girlfriend, now like
arm in arm with him during? Practices did you know?
WEIRD a little?

Speaker 15 (02:04:35):
Weird?

Speaker 2 (02:04:35):
YEAH i don't know what's going on. There so they're living, Right,
YEAH i.

Speaker 10 (02:04:40):
AM i cannot imagine as much AS i love my, wife,
right love my wife wanting to be with her twenty
four hours a, day.

Speaker 2 (02:04:48):
Like you're on the air and she's just like sitting
right next to your whole.

Speaker 10 (02:04:51):
Time there are people we have had folks here who
they work, with the person that they married. To that's
THAT'S i cannot imagine being like the practice. FIELD i
would think would be like the sanctuary if your bill apparently.

Speaker 2 (02:05:02):
Not would you go up into space for just ten? Minutes? No,
EITHER i don't understand the. Point YEAH i didn't.

Speaker 3 (02:05:09):
Either you See earth from space and then float around
a lot of people are talking about, it and they
ride on a rocket, ship which not a lot of people.

Speaker 10 (02:05:15):
Do SO i Remember Elon musk, OFFERED i guess Or twitter,
did which he. Owns sure, right. Yeah Ex so if
you've got a perfect, bracket you want a trip To,
mars which nobody has gotten. To AND i asked on the,
air like is that a good? Prize AND i made
it a pole question and a lot of people are, like,

(02:05:36):
YEAH i would want to learn about. That that or
the cash value of. IT i take the cash value
whatever that may. Be it was the cash value could
be twenty bucks THAT i would have the, money, CORRECT
i don't, Understand, like you, Know Katie perry went to
outer space for ten.

Speaker 2 (02:05:49):
Minutes, yeah what did that? ACCOMPLISH i, agree we're in
the same. Boat twenty twenty, Two Luis castillo en route
to a one hundred lost team that year for The,
Reds Luis castillo was traded For Noevee, Marte Edwin, Arroyo Levi,
stout And Andrew. Moore since, Then castillo's thirty and twenty
four three point three eight era has barely missed a.

(02:06:11):
START i read the article today Where Nick cross said
there were ten to fifteen suitors and at the, Time
marte's the number one prospect for The, Mariners arroyo was number.
Three you were getting some heavy hitters For Louis. Castillo
revisiting it, now do you do you think they made
the right BECAUSE i think that the trade was the right.

(02:06:32):
DECISION i would love to see what some of the
other teams were now offering and what they turned out to.

Speaker 10 (02:06:36):
BE i would like it If Edwin arroyo would stay, Healthy,
yeah because to, me like that's that's the key to the.
Deal if he ends up being as good as they,
think then you're gonna go. Okay good. Trade but you,
know if you take What Luis castillo ended up signing
for and you apply it to this year's, team it's, manageable,
Right and then you know The reds have a good starting,
staff but could you imagine them With Louis castillo and

(02:06:57):
they have gotten you, know Maybe NOEL. A mart is
still going to work, out he just got sent. Down
Maybe Edwin arroyo is is still going to work. Out
there's a lot of people who think that he. Will
but that trade hasn't yielded all that. Much And Luis
castillo is still really good and being talked about right
now is a guy who could be.

Speaker 2 (02:07:14):
Traded Hunter green has been so good and we've talked
so much about it and the strikeout and all the flashy.
Numbers nicolodolo's era is. Better it's, remarkable and yet IT'S
i don't feel like he's even been as sharp as
he can. Be yet is he flying under the radar
from a lot of people just because Of Hunter green's Brilliant,

(02:07:36):
yeah of. Course he is point nine to. Sixty ra
in three starts.

Speaker 10 (02:07:41):
Nine to, eight and he's second on the team in
the ERA i think With Hunter, green though that started
In San francisco was unlike Anything Nick lidolo is. Done,
Correct where they're three and, seven you have to, win
they're not scoring. Runs he gets to the ninth. Inning
that was unlike anything anybody on the staff has. Done
but you, KNOW i THINK i think the three of.
Us i've talked about this that first year in twenty

(02:08:02):
twenty two when it was a lost, season but they Had,
hunter they Had, ashcraft and they Had. NICOLODOLO i thought that,
year When Nick loodola was at his, best he was
better than anybody. Else, yeah NOW i Think Hunter green
has surpassed. Him and let's face, it you talk about
a lost season two years ago With. Nickolodola but sure
the idea is to have a great one, too. Right
the idea is to have like this killer one two

(02:08:23):
punch where you can, go, okay those two guys are,
studs and then the rest of the rotation falls out
nicely With Brady Singer Andrew, abbott maybe Still Nick martinez
or god knows who.

Speaker 2 (02:08:34):
Else you're a Big Hunter green, GUY i. Am is
there anything that these That hunter And ellie can? Do
BECAUSE i was asked a question yesterday if you could
start a franchise With Joe burrow And Jamar chase Or
Hunter green And Ellie Daila, cruz which one would you?
Choose and pretty much everyone has Said burrow And, chase
even though they were phenomenal last year and the team went.
Nowhere more players around you in football that that have
to make it.

Speaker 10 (02:08:53):
Work you have more, CONTROL i think over the, outcome
even though what happened last. YEAR i think you have
more control over the outcome of the.

Speaker 2 (02:08:59):
Season is there Anything hunter And ellie can do that
make that a tougher? Decision ellie has to get Where hunter.
Is hunter's established. Now hunter's got to stay, healthy sure
and get through a full. SEASON i think before we
completely anoint, him you, know the he is the staff
as but one of the very best pitchers in. Baseball
Ellie Dela cruz isn't there. Yet like With, hunter what are.

Speaker 10 (02:09:20):
We saying he has to? Do he's got to stay.
Healthy With, ellie he's still striking out about thirty percent
of the. Time we still like to see him make
a little bit more. Contact he still has some blunders
in the. FIELD i Love ellie de La cruz And,
i'll you, know do the stupid imaginary stock Game i'll
buy all The ellie, Stock BUT i think Like hunter
is closer to being among the very very very very
best at his craft Than Ellie Dela cruz. Is, now

(02:09:44):
you don't want to go too crazy over statistics this
early in the, season but if you look At Elie
Dela cruz's, numbers they're not. Great he also hasn't had
a ton of help around. Him What hunter does is
less dependent on others around. Him, yes he needs guys
to catch the ball and all that sort of, stuff
Where ellie might need some. Help the lineup needs guys
to get on, base needs players to drive them. In
But ellie still feels like an unfinished project and h

(02:10:07):
or unfinished, product And Hunter, green to, me feels like
more of a finished.

Speaker 2 (02:10:12):
Product we are a week and two days away from the.
Draft we'll probably talk about this, more but as we sit,
Here i'm excited for.

Speaker 10 (02:10:19):
This because you know what we're. In we're in the
the cone of overnight, expertise right in the middle of.

Speaker 7 (02:10:25):
It.

Speaker 10 (02:10:25):
Yeah, now a lot of folks surprised us by demonstrating
their expertise when it comes to international trade. Policy that
quickly quickly pivoted to the masters Were suddenly people who
don't know a thing about golf they just wow you.
With suddenly they've been boning up on not only THE Pga,
tour but they could tell you every nook and cranny

(02:10:48):
Of augusta from their detailed experience having played. It that
quickly shifts to the, draft where it's, LIKE i have
A Zane gray or what was the guy's? Name Zane
gray was the dude From Zaye's Yeah, Gray Zabel Zabel, Gray, yeah,
yeah Kot, state the other In North Dakota, State Cornell
volson two point.

Speaker 2 (02:11:06):
Zero suddenly a lot of oh, yeah AND i was
watching this.

Speaker 10 (02:11:09):
Film and then we go to The Kentucky, Derby, yes
a week after that were suddenly all these horse racing
experts chime, In go, ahead ask.

Speaker 2 (02:11:16):
Your draft, today move, up move, down make the pick at.

Speaker 10 (02:11:20):
SEVENTEEN i want to move down because they need more draft,
capital BUT i actually am more interested in who they
might be able to get at forty. Nine and if
you can convince me they can get one of two
players at forty, nine that will inform HOW i feel
about what they should do at. Seventeen but, yeah they

(02:11:40):
need more, guys they need more. Picks who are those two?
Players paul AND i are going to talk about?

Speaker 7 (02:11:45):
That?

Speaker 2 (02:11:45):
Wow how about? That also his piece with the offensive,
line that's a sobering. Piece, yeah tell me you want
to draft a no lineman in the first, round and
then Read paul's.

Speaker 10 (02:11:56):
Piece we all know people who have used the microphone
and a camera to work an angle with a young.
Lady we know people who have done. That, sure and
and YET i don't know about our guy In. ATLANTA
i sat in an office, here a little back room by,
myself with the express purpose of spending sixty minutes trying

(02:12:18):
to figure out HOW i feel about the guy In
atlanta using his microphone and his camera and his two
wingmen in the booth to get some girl's.

Speaker 3 (02:12:26):
NUMBER i do think if you watch The braves with any,
regularity that is not that. Surprising, agreed they might have
the most fun booth them in The. Mets it's any
booth In San Francisco. Giants, yeah who was the fifth
starter After Luis castile got? Traded you remember the fifth?
STARTER a green Traded.

Speaker 2 (02:12:45):
Tyler, Maley, Nicolodola, graham ashcrafton Hill As, Wojakowski Mike. Minor
you missed The Mike, Minor, OH i remember. That, Yeah,
tommy that was The tommy. Fan, yeah, yeh Will Will
myers on that. Team, yeah that's a big years. Ago
it feels like forever. Ago it, does. Thankfully mike mustakas as.
Well remember that game the new Guy Mo mo's, Next we're.
