Here's Eric Sharp, Good morning five oh one on news
Radio seven forty k TRH. Our top story this hour.
President Trump ramping up tariffs on China to one hundred
and forty five percent, but at a cabinet meeting yesterday,
he said he believes there's still plenty of room for negotiation,
and we're going to try to go ahead and see

(02:01):
if we can get that sounds in just a minute
once again. China, of course, responding by adding several US
companies to the trade blacklists, is what they're calling it,
and during the President Trump's Cabinet meeting, meanwhile, Secretary of
State Marco Rubio defending his department crack down on immigration

(02:21):
and revoking more than three hundred visas nationwide. Some of
the cases are released are related to the participation in
pro Palestinian protest on campus, others having their visas revoked
for past offenses such as dui and speeding violations. The

(02:42):
Trump advisor Roger Stone says that the economy will be
cooking in the next two years. We're going to try
to get this audio here and we're going to come
back to that in a little bit. Katr Hdew's time
is now five to two. Mainstream media continuing to push
their radical agenda when it comes to illegal immigration. CNN
and MSNBC referred to an illegal alien who had been

(03:04):
deported eleven times already as one of those marilynd men
one hundred and twenty time, the Media Research Citter pointing
out that on top of already having been deported multiple times,
he had also been found to be a member of
MS thirteen. President Trump continuing to push forward the MAGA agenda,
and the mainstream media still wants no part of it. Meanwhile,

(03:27):
the president got some good economic news in the March
Consumer Price Index report. Prices fell month to month by
zero point one percent and rose by just two point
four percent year over year. Lower energy prices played a
major role. KTRH moneyman Pat Shin says that this will

(03:47):
help bring down transportation prices that could in turn help
offset any price increases that we might see from the
Trump tariffs. KTRH news time now five four. It's not
the stuff from the Terminator movies, but AI is here
and in use. The chief operating officer for Espresso AI,

(04:08):
Andrea Chelsea, says that folks should learn at least to
embrace using AI and that we're already using it every day,
even if we don't realize it. According to a Pew
Research survey, US adults say that they're more concerned than
excited about AI at a fifty one percent rate versus
fifteen percent among experts. Kat Harry's news time is now

(04:34):
five four teenager is shot while sitting in his parked
car outside of his home last night in Houston's Third Ward.
Police say that someone open fire through the passenger window
just after eleven o'clock on North McGregor Way investigators are
still working on a motive and a suspect. Meanwhile, two
children also are being rescued to others have been arrested

(04:57):
this after a child exploitation investigation in Montgomery County. Thirty
four year old Justin Guile faces five counts of possession
of child pornography. The child's mother is charged with two
counts of endangering a child. K TRIH News time now
five oh five. Texas gas prices continue to fall along
with crude oil. Triple A as a state wide average

(05:17):

It's down five cents from last week, forty one cents
cheaper than a year ago. Houston's average fell two cents
this week to two seventy eight per gallon. The national
average sits at three twenty two per gallon. An analyst
notes the drop in crude oil, which has phoned five
year low in the last week. In sports, the Ash
Joes they were off Thursday, they are back at home

could be heard right here on KTRAH beginning at eight thirty.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
BE Informed be on time.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Parrett.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Well, when it comes to getting your NightLive on, evidently
Houston doesn't rank real high. Five oh seven is their
time here in Houston's Morning News. Now, before I go
through the list of cities and where we rank as
far as the quality of is it the quality of
the nightlife or just the nightlife? Because this is a
really subjective thing. What do you like to do at night?

(06:33):
Here's how they made the rankings. Let's look at the criteria.
Number one criteria percentage of excessive drinking. So evidently they're
looking for the alcoholics. Where are the most alcoholics. They
must have a good night life if they're all drunk.
Number of casinos, Well, we don't have any casinos in Houston,

(06:56):
so you know that's that's not going to help that
rating at all. Average casino ratings, there's two casinos. Number
of bars per one hundred thousand price of one beer
at a bar alcohol consumption. I thought we covered that
with excessive drinking. Number of colleges, well, we got a
few colleges. Number of music festivals, the time they cut

(07:19):
off the alcohol. In other words, oh you mean to
cut it off at two of the morning. Okay. We
need places that are open all night long in order
to go up these rankings and the percentage of twenty
six to thirty four year olds, because those are the
ones that are out there still partying. Right, Based on
that criteria, the worst care to guests, What do you

(07:41):
think is the worst city in America for nightlife? I'll
give you a one word clue. Mormons Salt Lake City
number one for worst night life. San Jose, California, came
in second. Virginia Beach, Virginia came in third. In Richmond,
Virginia came in fourth. Interestingly enough, rest of the top

(08:03):
ten Hertford, Connecticut, Riverside, California, Los Angeles really a little
surprising there, seventh worst nightlife, Seattle, eighth, Raleigh, North Carolina, ninth.
Houston came in tenth. Tenth worst nightlife according to this
particular survey, Dallas, San Antonio right behind us, though so

(08:25):
there's not much difference in nightlife. See to me night Again,
this is very subjective. What do you like to do?
I like to go to baseball games. Hey, nighttime baseball games.
We have that. They don't have that in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Maybe they have a minor league team. I don't know.
I get salt like said, he probably doesn't have that either.
So there you go. They have nothing going on at night.

(08:46):
But we have some things. We have rockets, we have
we have astros, we have concerts. So we got Maybe
we just aren't as drunk as the rest of America.
Good for us. Five to ten, time for traffic and
weather together. Mistaken for a Mormon. You've been mistaken for
a Mormon? Why because of the number of wives you have?

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Oh niceahead, Stockton to Malone.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
There you we're only married one at a time though,
right what, I'm sorry, you're only married one at a time. Oh, oh,
that's true. That's true. You didn't have multiple wives. Okay,
I've done that pretty well.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I'm just checking to see if you're old school Mormon.
Sorry I'm a little slow this morning. I was up
late last night. So let's go to it. Katie Freeway

Speaker 1 (10:26):
I see no deviation. So far in the forecast, there's
very little change.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
The biggest change we get is a temperature change. Today
we warm up, Tomorrow, we cool down. We'll keep doing
that up and down, up and down for the next
couple of days. No signs of rain, just blue skies.
A little warm today, mid to upper eighties. But there
is this weekfront that's moving through right now. So tonight
our temperatures are in the fifties, and tomorrow load to

(10:56):
mid eighties for highs, and we'll warm it back up
into the mid to upper eight eight Sunday and Monday Tuesday,
still dry, temperatures in the eighties. I'm ready for a
little change in the pattern, but it's not going to
happen right now through early next week.

It is five point twenty here on Houston's Morning News,
So everybody wants to try to analyze now what it's
going to take to get China to negotiate. You know,
Trump up the tariff to one hundred and forty five
percent on China yesterday. So the trade war is on
and on. With Gusto, I guess you could say the

(11:46):
question becomes, at what point does China blink? Because we
definitely have the advantage in a trade war against China.
Our economy is just bigger. Gordon Chang, he's a Chinese expert.
We've had him here on our show before. He makes
a lot of rounds, especially five. I saw him yesterday
making some predictions of what is likely to happen on
that front. We'll share those with you next. First, though,

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Good morning. It is now five twenty two on news
Radio seven forty KTRH speaker Mike Johnson says the House
and Senate will continue working over the coming weeks on
President Trump's budget plan. A House nearly passed that provides
blueprint for the bunchet yesterday morning. At the President's Captinet
meeting yesterday, Robert F. Kennedy Junior set a new research

five point thirty.

Speaker 7 (13:59):
I live in Friends with Your forecast is at the
bottom of the album on seven k t RH.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yeah, we get a lot of a lot of stuff
from China, and you know we're to be paying a
little more for it, at least initially. You may not
even realize what you're buying that is made in China
until you all of a sudden show up to buy
something and the price has gone up quite a bit.
You know, Well, now you know it's made in China.

(14:26):
A lot of things are. But this is this is
about decoupling from China. I think in the long run,
I don't know you know how long this takes how
long this trade war lasts. I know that Gordon Chang,
who's an expert on China's written numerous books on China,
has some thoughts about how difficult a negotiation process with

(14:48):
China is likely to be. Here's Gordon Chang.

Speaker 8 (14:51):
Theoretically, yes, but I think it's going to be extremely difficult.
For one thing, seaching thing has configured the Chinese political
system so that only the most possible answers are considered acceptable.
And the other thing is that what we complain about,
the predatory trade practices, the criminal acts, those are inherent
in the communist parties system. So yes, maybe President Trump

(15:14):
will be able to hammer out some of a relationship,
but I think it's going to be hard. And remember
the January twenty twenty Phase one trade deal that fell
apart very quickly after it was signed, and that's because
the Chinese didn't honor it. So there's got to be
something different this time. And I think the Chinese now
are more trade dependent, they're more dependent on the US.

(15:34):
So we can all hope, but we got to be
very realistic about what can be accomplished in this circumstances.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Is the world waking up to how abusive China is.

Speaker 8 (15:45):
Yes, And you make an important point because even last year,
we saw countries in the China friendly global South put
tariffs on Chinese goods, and I think we're going to
see tariff barriers and other countries against China. And the
reason is with President Trump' one hundred and forty five
percent tariffs, he's basically shutting off the US market.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
China needs to sell.

Speaker 8 (16:04):
Those goods that theywise otherwise would have sold to the
US elsewhere. And I think other countries don't want to
see their markets flooded with Chinese goods, in other words,
to see their industries decimated by China.

Speaker 9 (16:16):
How weak is China final word?

Speaker 8 (16:19):
Well, first of all, the economy is probably contracting. We
can see this from deflationary price signals. Plus also they're
having their two thousand and eight now. Look, they delayed
their recession in two thousand and eight to now by
accumulating a lot of debt. They got to pay it back.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
They can't do it.

Speaker 8 (16:34):
And then President Trump puts the tariffs on simultaneous crises lives.
I don't think China can get through this very easily.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Wow, Okay, so you know this is a situation where
the President may have put other countries in a mood to,
you know, sort of strike back at China, and maybe
a lot of other countries will start adding large tariffs
on China. That would certainly put them in a very
bad position, but it also is of course backs them

(17:03):
into a corner. One thing they have a lot of
is military and you have to play that game too, right.
You don't want to start a world war with China
over tariffs. Five twenty six. It is time to take
a look at your money. Here's Jeff Bellinger and Jimmy
good morning. This report is sponsored by Total Wine and More.
Stock market futures indicate there's every reason to expect a

(17:26):
lot of volatility on Wall Street today. They have been
up and down throughout the early morning hours. Right now
that our futures are up two hundred and thirty four points,
the major averages had losses ranging from two and a
half percent to four and a third percent yesterday. Despite
Washington's efforts to negotiate deals of trading partners other than
China and use that the consumer price index declined a

(17:49):
tenth of a percent last month, we get some insight
today on how the President's tariffs are playing on Main Street.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Here's Eric Sharp, Good Morning, five thirty one on news
Radio seven forty k TRH. Our top story this hour,
the House has passed a budget plan that's vital to
advancing President Trump's agenda. Now Speaker Mike Johnson says it's
a big win for the American people.

Speaker 11 (19:50):
The big news today, of course, as we pass the
budget resolution, we've adopted to send its amendments to the resolution.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
The vote was two sixteen to two fourteen, is only
two Republicans voted with Democrats to oppose the plan. The
Texas House starting debates on a proposed budget, which is
more than one thousand pages long. State Rep. Greg Bonan
says that the plan reflects the state's conservative priorities.

Speaker 12 (20:13):
Our committee heard from over six hundred witnesses and collectively
spent over one hundred and nineteen hours in public meetings.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
However, detractors like State Rep. Brian Harrison have ripped the budget,
calling it a liberal wish list that was drawn up
behind closed doors. The state Senate already passed its own
budget weeks ago after his twenty twenty four when President
Trump had solidified his legendary status in political history. Even
leftist Bill Maher has been forced to acknowledge that Trump

(20:43):
is one of the most effective politicians.

Speaker 13 (20:46):
Markher recently said his effectiveness comes from the fact that
he's so authentic.

Speaker 14 (20:50):
He's very different from what I think the caricature is
of who he is. He is very authentic, he is
very real, He says what he thinks. He's naturally funny.

Speaker 13 (20:58):
Top consultant Matt mccoveac says that's how he's managed to
build such a strong relationship with blue collar voters.

Speaker 14 (21:04):
That's how he's built the MAGA agenda. It's been built
over thirty or forty years of listening and learning and watching,
and so if you understand how other people live their lives.

Speaker 13 (21:12):
Q went on to say that Trump's authenticity has set
a new standard in politics and there's no going back.

Speaker 15 (21:35):
Listen to me, is a warning shot across Senator Schumer's bow,
and indeed all Democrats who have been in Congress for many,
many years.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
As for Republicans, Louisiana Senator John Kennedy says they're not

on short barrel firearms in Texas. A Senate bill clear

a barrel shorter than sixteen inches shotgun with a barrel
shortened eighteen or a sold off rifle shotgun less than
twenty six inches long. Overall, even if the band is lifted,
in Texas, any short barrel gun must still be registered
with the ATF. Texas gas prices continue to fall along
with crude oil. Triple A has the state wide average

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Well, maybe this is gonna be a good exercise for us,
right If prices are going to go up on goods
from China, it's gonna be really easy to see where
this thing is from. And and and we'll be thinking
twice about buying something made in China, won't we. I mean,
there's some things I guess you don't have any choice on,
but there's some things that you do have plenty of
choices on. And the grocery store comes to mind. I

(25:39):
saw this list of items that are made in China
that are fairly common in most grocery stores, and I
will be watching with interest to see the prices on
these items and what happens with them, not that I
plan to buy them. There's about eleven different items that
come to mind. They're likely to get you know, you

(26:00):
get slamed with the higher terrace fairly quickly. Number one
Pearl River Bridge soy sauce, which is made in China.
Where's kikaman made from?

Speaker 15 (26:09):
This?

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Plenty of other soy sauces you can pick from you to.
You don't have to pick that one in order to
you know, in order to get soy sauce, that's for sure.
Fifty hertz spelled h r t z tinglely foods very
very again, very specific. They have like sieshwan pepper, that
kind of stuff. If you make your own stir fry
that kind of stuff, you can find replacements for that.

(26:30):
Apple juice. Did you know that apple juice? A lot
of apple juice comes from China. China is the world's
largest ex porter of apple juice. Wouldn't you think we'd
be the largest uh lee comm key sauces and condiments
made in China. Who else is frozen shellfish like shrimp

(26:52):
that comes from a lot of places, though I know
there's a lot of Asian countries where shrimp crumb from.
They don't necessarily come from China. But again, we have
shrimp in the United States. I wish maybe now that
the foreign shrip is going to get more expensive, maybe
we'll be eating more American made shrimp. Here's another seshuan
chili sauce. I don't need any of that stuff. Fresh

(27:13):
and frozen garlic, Okay, garlic is something you probably use
a lot in cooking, so they're the world's largest producer
an exporter of fresh and frozen garlic, so you may
want to keep an eye out for that. See what
else made the list here here's another made in China sauce.
Children's toys. Eighty percent of toys in the United States
are made in China. Of course, they do sell those

(27:35):
at the supermarket, but you will you may notice that
when ordering toys, the prices for toys are going to
go up. Lot of spices come from China. Ginger, saffron, tameric, thyme,
bay leaves, and more. Fourteen point four come to the US,
so you'll have to specifically look for spices that are

(27:55):
coming from somewhere else. Seafood and caviar. I thought we
got caviar from russ Anyway, seafood comes from China, so
you have to consider that too. There are plenty of
things that you can use his alternatives if the prices
get too high, or if you just want to buy
American or buy somewhere else other than China. Five forty
time for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
There's a certain brand of shoes that's made by Chinese children.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Isn't there. Uh yeah, they're not really getting paid that much. Yeah,
that's what I hear. I think it starts with an
N and ends with an E. They'll get this funny
little swishy symbol.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
I won't wear that logo anymore because it used to
be my favorite shoe. And this dude named Colin Kaepernick
came along, and thanks to him, I'm like, well, that's good.
He did you a favorite.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Yeah, he did me.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
He saved me some money, and now I go to
New Balance. All right, Oh, China. Did you know there's
a China Texas Jimmy, I did China growth?

Speaker 4 (28:46):
No no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 3 (28:47):

But there's one right next to Beaumont.

Speaker 1 (28:53):

they named it because you you know, you actually.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Ninety is a great scenic route if you don't like
taking it in going through all that habitashary.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
You just want to go somewhere kind of quiet.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
You had a few lights, but I ten east looks

It rocks into the Goodyear Plants. So that's kind of

Yes, it's going to be sunny just about everywhere in

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Sunny and warm.

Speaker 24 (30:30):
Now.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
We've got this coldfront that's moving through today, so all
that's going to do is limit how quickly the temperatures
warm up. The good thing is it's bringing us lower humidity,
and I think you'll feel that today. But temperatures this
afternoon will make it into the midto upper eighties. At night,
with the air being dry, we're going to cool down

(30:51):
into the fifties. So very pleasant tonight and a good
looking day tomorrow with the sunshine and temperatures low to
mid eighties, the humidities in check, but southerly winds will
start to bring us a little more warmth, a little
more humidity Sunday and Monday, where temperatures will be in
the mid to upper eighties.

This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Oh did you hear the Democrats yesterday say well, this
is uh, this is this hole, this hold. They're hyperventilating
this old tariff thing. This is this is insider trading.
You know, he's he's telegraphing to the mark is what's
going to happen. You'll tell the people go out and
buy stock today, and then a few hours later he's
you know, he's raising tariffs, are taking teriffs away. There's

(31:50):
no they're talking about insider trading. The Party of Nancy
Pelosi who got rich and play of other Democrats who
out rich by knowing what the government was going to
do ahead of time and in tipping people off in
bug stock. Are you kidding me again? It's the Party
of I know you are, but what am I? They

(32:11):
do the same things that they accuse other people of doing. Anyway,
born that story coming up next first, though, we've got
topic and mother together. What have you discovered scum on?

Speaker 19 (32:20):
All?

Speaker 26 (32:20):
Right?

Speaker 3 (32:20):
This time TV ladies helped me. This is East Tax
inbound at rank and we've got an accent. Oh well,
I'm talking about it and then you clear it. All right, fine,
we had three lanes that was really interesting.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
But just like that, they clear it.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
While I'm talking about at southbound. Let's do be careful.
It's not the biggest backup, but watch out for some
people in front of you after you're coming down from
later it in East House.

Speaker 1 (32:42):

Speaker 3 (32:43):
Oh clear, dude, China and bulla China a movie. Well,
you could go down the road to know it's it's

we have a Paris. Jimmy, I'm Skymike on a Generator

participating in insider trading. Here are democrats making false accusations.

We get response. On the other end, of course, who.

Speaker 27 (34:31):
Knew in advance that the president was going to once
again flip flop on tariffs?

Speaker 4 (34:36):
And are people cashing in?

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Its administration is replete with grifters. I hope there will
be a searching, penetrating investigation into the potential for manipulation
and insider.

Speaker 25 (34:48):
Trading, outright market manipulation.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
The possible stock manipulation.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
What if any advanced knowledge did members of the House
Republican Conference have.

Speaker 28 (35:00):
The corruption is just completely out in the open. If
someone with knowledge of an economic policy change that would
cause the markets to shoot back up right before posting
about how great a time it is to buy right
before the policy change happened, would certainly be guilty of
inside to trading.

Speaker 29 (35:18):
I mean, Nancy got filthy rich and now they want
to look at stock manipulation. Come on, the Democrats are
mad when the market goes down, and then they're mad when.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
The market goes up. You just can't win with these people.
Is he caving to China? Is he too tough on China?
I wish the Democrats would just help us out for once.

Speaker 29 (35:38):
This is about economic patriotism, this is about national security,
and the Democrats have to just criticize everything this guy does.
Oh he blinked. Wait a second, I thought you wanted
him to lower teriffs. Now you're going to investigate him
for lowering tariffs. Doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
They say that this is going to okay. So if
you do it the way they.

Speaker 29 (36:02):
Want to do it, maybe you go five percent tariff,
ten percent terariff, fifteen percent tariff, and it just never
gets anywhere, and our allies never race to negotiate, and
then that's an actual trade war. They'll just sit back
and they'll raise their tariffs and then we get nothing.
Trump has to do this fast. He's up against the midterms.
He's termlited. We think he's term limited.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
So the only way to get this done is shock therapy.
And it's already getting results. Good way to put it,
shock therapy. Yeah, I mean, we got seventy five plus
countries now falling all over each other to try to
get in and negotiate a new trade and you know
in tariff deal, well, you know he's getting the results

Here's Eric Sharp, Good morning six oh one on news
radio seven forty k TRH. Our top story this hour. Well,
China has made its tariff move. It has increased tariffs
against the US to one hundred and twenty five percent
today in response to President Trump raising tariffs against China.
Box's Madeline Rivera has more from DC.

Speaker 31 (38:49):
This is up from the eighty four percent it announce
on Wednesday and now matches the one hundred and twenty
five percent additional reciprocal tariffs the US imposed on China
this week. The twenty percent finanyl tear in effect, bringing
the total additional tariffs on China to one hundred and
forty five percent. Chinese President chijin Ping, singing today his
country is not afraid. Still, President Trump is not ruling

(39:12):
out a potential deal with China or other countries. President
Trump is now threatening to impose more tariffs against Mexico
over a water dispute at the southern border.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Meanwhile, Mexican President Claudia Schanbaum denied accusations that Mexico is
violating a treaty by not sending enough water to the
US and blamed three years of drought for the shortage.
During President Trump's cabinet meeting yesterday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio,
defending his departments, cracked down on immigration and revoking more
than three hundred visas nationwide.

Speaker 32 (39:43):
No one's entitled to a student visa. The press cover
student visa is like there's some sort of birthright now.
A student visas like me inviting you into my home.
If you come into my home and put all kinds
of crap on my couch, I'm going to kick you
out of my house. And so you know, that's what
we're doing with our country thanks to the President.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
Any of these cases are related to participation in pro
Palestinian protest on campus. Others are having their visas revoked
for past offenses like dui and speeding violations. Trump advisor
Roger Stone says the economy will be cooking in the
next two years.

Speaker 6 (40:17):
Tariffs have brought uncertainty, which businesses hate, but optimism is
high that.

Speaker 24 (40:21):
Would hope we get closer to zero terrists and allow
for more economic growth along with the Trump tax cuts
being extended in the deregulation. If those things go into place,
then we could definitely be cooking.

Speaker 6 (40:31):
Economist Van Skin says time will tell if these tariffs
hurt or help, and while Trump's a smart businessman, this
is a bit tougher.

Speaker 24 (40:38):
There is a difference between negotiating with other countries and
which tools that you want to use to do so.

Speaker 4 (40:52):
The mainstream media continues to push their radical agenda when
it comes to illegal immigration. CNN and MSNBC referred to
an illegal alien who had been deported eleven times already
as a Maryland manned one hundred twenty times.

Speaker 22 (41:06):
The reality is the media's standard for who should be
allowed into the country is anybody who can fill to
basic criteria, anybody who wants to be here and who
can make it to the southern border.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
That's Bill Magastino at the Media Research Center. He pointed
out that on Temp have already having been deported multiple
times and man It also been found to be a
member of MS thirteen. As President Trump continues to push
forward with the MAGA agenda, the mainstream media still wants
no part of it.

Speaker 18 (41:36):
And it's no surprise to Curtis Howk, managing editor at NewsBusters.

Speaker 33 (41:41):
I think the liberal corporate media are as far out
of touch with reality as one could assume.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Instead, they are doubling down on their reality.

Speaker 33 (41:51):
Despite having been repudiated in November. It drives the legacy
liberal corporate media crazy that people still support him and
that they feel more optimistic, and that is.

AI is here and in use. Chief operating officer of

every day, even if we don't realize it.

Speaker 23 (42:24):
I had to learn what it could do to help
me in my day to day and that is where
the education and usage of it is really something that
I recommend and advocate because people will find it.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
Sit. So wait is our time? I'm here on Houston's
warn News. I can relate to this song because I
too have a role of Forever stamps that is in
you know, we have a little credenza, if you will,
in the kitchen where you know, you put your paperwork
in that kind of stuff, and there's a role of
Forever stamps in there that we have had for years,

(44:21):
in just years, I'm guessing them. When I bought those
forever stamps, it was somewhere in the forty some odd
cent per stamp category. We are currently at seventy Is
it seventy four cents. I think it's seventy four cents
right now, No, seventy three cents, seventy three cents. Currently,
the Post Office is applying for an increase of five cents,

(44:45):
which means that any forever stamps you buy from here
on out starting in July. By the way, if if
it were to take effect, it would start in July,
the forever stamp would cost you seventy eight cents. And
I'm trying to think of what I would use a
seventy eight cent stamp for. What would be worth me

(45:05):
mailing it cost me seventy eight cents, and I can't
come up with anything. I don't write checks anymore, so
I don't. I mean, at least, I don't mail checks
for bills anymore. You know, I have direct pay for
that kind of stuff. I don't send birthday cards because
I found that there are a lot of people with

(45:26):
sticky fingers that work in post offices around America, and
somehow or another, most of those disappear because the assumption
is there's money in there or something, or gift card
or something, so they go ahead and steal it. I mean,
so I don't do that anymore. If I want to
send a birthday gritting, I'll do it electronically, And if
I want to send a gift card, I'll do it electronically.
So the only thing going on is to the junk

(45:47):
mail at this point. I don't know how this impacts
the price of junk mail, but if approved by the Commission,
the new rate would take effect July the thirteenth. The
cost of mailing services would jump approximately seven point four percent.
It also includes, by the way, additional rates on people
who are shipping things overseas. I don't know if they
are also trying to apply for rates or rate increases

(46:10):
in some of the other things that they do. And
I guess there are a few things you could only
send through USPS if you're doing government business. And then
funny how they work that way. If you're sending something
to a PO box going, it's got to go through
the United States Postal Service six ten time for traffic
and weather together, use.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
The US Mail and a stamp to send back that
money you owe Columbia House for those records.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
Nice, that'd be a perfect use.

Speaker 34 (46:34):
I haven't.

Speaker 1 (46:34):
I've got those further steps. They're gonna be my will
somebody's gonna get them in my will. I'm never going
to use them all Let's look at that.

Speaker 3 (46:41):
Let's look at this. Oh man, we got something popping
up on the hard hat side here to twenty five
at Goodyear. What are we looking at? I'm looking at
a smash going on the ramp that goes up to
the ship Channel bridge. We don't have time for that,
all right. I don't want to send you to the
Washburn Tunnel. If you want to do the toll way,
this is America. Do the toll bridge instead. My secret
hack is wayside. Don't tell anybody. This wreck officially is

(47:04):
not even on their screen yet, so you're the first

She's a special project ambassador for the Riley Gains Center
at the Leadership Institute. She's coming up next. First, we've

(49:53):
got traffic and weather to government. Not in a working
mood today, Jimmy, now you feel like playing a little
HOOKI sky mine. I just want a goof.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
But you know here we are with Southwest Freeway inbound.
We cleared that wreck right before the loop west part
to Allway. That wreck at Eldridge clear. You can't even
tell there was a problem. And you're going too all
the way from Grant Parkway. We do have some suckage
on the north sam westbound Allding Westfield.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
That's the roadwork.

Twenty four hour weathersend and lots of sunshine today with
the high temperature of eighty eight mainly sunny, eighty five
tomorrow Sunday, with the high of eighty six degrees coming
up on Sunday, currently sixty two at your official severe

our top trending stories. Eric Sharp will tell you about those.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
Good morning six twenty one on news Radio seven forty
k TRH. China raising tariffs on US imports from eighty
four to one hundred twenty five percent. The announcement came
just today after President Trump paused terriffs for everyone else
and then raised them for China to one hundred and
forty five percent. The Food and Drug Administration plans to
drop animal testing for some therapies and drugs in favor

Is this just happened across my street? Hopefully state wigency
for all the happenings across the globe. Use Radio seven
forty KTRH six twenty two Our time here on Houston's
morning News. So boys competing in girls' sports is still happening,
and we know it's happened right here in Texas. We've
done several stories on this up in the Dallas area,

(51:39):
where school systems for advising parents who had boys who
wanted to compete as girls that as long as they
had the right sex on the birth certificate, you'll get
the birth certificate change before you move here, and you'll
be good to go. So they're finding ways to circumvent
the law. Paula Scanlon joins US Special Project's ambassador for
the Raleigh Gains Center at the Leadership Instead. Dude, one

(52:00):
thing we found out about the progressive left fall is
that they are more than willing to bend and break
the law in order to follow their agenda.

Speaker 9 (52:08):
I mean absolutely, we've seen this in things even beyond
this issue.

Speaker 37 (52:12):
But I will say though you guys in Texas, I'm
from the northeast, you guys are lucky though that you
do have a governor that cares for you. I mean
Riley and I actually back in twenty twenty three sat
with Governor Abbott when he signed an act banning men
from women's sports in your state. I mean, you also
have Ken Paxton right age, who fights for you guys,
and so just know that that is something that you have.

(52:33):
And while there are instances that are going on in
Texas where this is still happening.

Speaker 9 (52:37):
You have leadership that is willing to fight for you,
and that.

Speaker 37 (52:40):
Is exactly what I want to see all fifty states have,
and we're seeing this explodere across the country that it
doesn't matter what state these leftists are in, whether it's
California or right down in Texas, they're still trying this
and they are still saying we don't care about the rules.
And what's even worse about it is majority of Democrats
don't even agree, so I don't even know who.

Speaker 9 (52:59):
They're fighting for.

Speaker 37 (53:00):
But again, this is not unique to you, guys. We're
seeing this happen across the country.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
Well, and you mentioned the Attorney general. He is launching
an investigation. He has launched an investigation, he's seeking depositions
on this now. So there's going to be some people
who are going to have to answer to what it
is that they've done. But again, it shows that even
states that have passed these laws, laws are generally only
as good as your willingness and ability to enforce them.

Speaker 37 (53:27):
Absolutely, But I do think that you have people that
are willing to enforce down in Texas, but it takes
everyone listening actually to be able to help this truly.

Speaker 9 (53:37):
I mean, it takes the grassroots people.

Speaker 37 (53:39):
It takes the kids and the moms at the high
school that see this happening to report these stories.

Speaker 9 (53:43):
And so if anyone who's.

Speaker 37 (53:44):
Listening, this is really where you come into play. We
cannot finish off this issue if you're not willing to
talk about it and you're not willing to report what's
happening at your high school, at your middle school, at
your college.

Speaker 9 (53:54):
It really takes those people reporting these stories for us
to really finish this off. And us are the Riley Center.
Where's here to support you in doing this?

Speaker 37 (54:02):
And so while this is incredibly discouraging, I want everyone
to know that we all have to do this together.
And I really think that that's my main message again
to continue to fight for this.

Speaker 9 (54:11):
It takes all of us.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
What would you like to see if states do There
are twenty six states at this point that if I
passed these laws, and they have to do a better
job of enforcing these laws. But it seems to me
that one of the reasons why these school systems are
willing to break the laws because they don't really have
any fear of punishment. They're not worried about losing state funding,
they're not worried about losing federal funding. Do we need

(54:35):
to tie some really strict penalties to these laws to
make sure they are enforced.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 37 (54:41):
I mean we've seen Trump obviously what he said with
the governor of Maine. I absolutely think that if you
are allowing men to compete on your girls' sports teams
at a high school, middle school, whatever school, you name it,
you should lose federal funding, you should lose accreditation for
people to be able to attend your school.

Speaker 9 (54:57):
You should be penalized very very high.

Speaker 37 (55:01):
And I think that that is something maybe that hasn't
been written into these rules, So maybe that's something we
can add. But again, in conservative states, with conservative leadership
President Trump himself, there is a desire to see this
issue through, to get men out of women's sports completely,
and I think that that maybe is a great update
that we should definitely bring to people. But in the meantime, again,

(55:21):
it really is up to the individuals that are going
through this talk about it, because if.

Speaker 9 (55:25):
You don't mention what's happening, if you don't bring up
these stories, if you don't.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Fight for it.

Speaker 37 (55:30):
If you don't try to boycott these events, no one
will know that this is happening to you.

Speaker 9 (55:34):
So that's really the best place to start.

Speaker 1 (55:35):

Speaker 1 (57:08):

Speaker 3 (57:10):
We're getting a little loopy at the squeeze on the

Speaker 30 (57:19):

end of it, it's not quite all the way off
the road. It's just there.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
That makes a lot of sense, all right, ninety right

Speaker 4 (58:07):
Good Morning, six thirty one on news Radio seven forty KTRH.
Our top story this hour, the House passes a Senator
proved budget framework for the Trump economic agenda. North Carolina
Congressman Richard Hudson telling Fox the GOP is united in
passing the so called Big Beautiful Bill.

Speaker 1 (58:24):
Sometimes it is messy, it's not always easy.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
We've got a lot of individuals who have a lot
of different ideas about how to get there. But at
the end of the day, this team is committed to
getting Donald Trump's agenda past.

Speaker 4 (58:36):
The two sixteen to two to fourteen vote opened to
the door for Republicans in the House and Senate to
pass a final budget bill with the President Trump's priorities
to sending will now take up the Save Act, which
would require proof of citizenship to register to vote in
federal elections. A House passed the bill two twenty to
two oh eight yesterday, with four Democrats joining all Republicans.

(58:56):
The Taxes House, starting there in debate on a proposed budget,
which is more than one one thousand pages long. Greg
Bonnen says that the plan reflects the state's conservative priorities.

Speaker 12 (59:07):
Our committee heard from over six hundred witnesses and collectively
spent over one hundred and nineteen hours in public meetings.

Speaker 4 (59:15):
But detractors like State Rep. Brian Harrison have ripped the budget,
calling it a liberal wish list that was drawn up
behind closed doors. The state Senate already passed its own
budget weeks ago. Since twenty sixteen, the President has been
praised for how authentic he is now even in left
wing comedian Bill Maher has been forced to acknowledge that

(59:37):
the authenticity is made of one of the most effective presidents.

Speaker 1 (59:42):
A lot of people in politics are fake.

Speaker 14 (59:43):
They think they have to be fake, They think they
have to try to be perfect, They think they need
everyone to like them.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
And Trump doesn't approach things that way.

Speaker 14 (59:49):
He actually, I think, doesn't mind that some percentage of
the country doesn't like him.

Speaker 4 (59:52):
That's GOP consultant Mac mccoyak. He says that the authenticity
has been key to building up the MAGA agenda, and
it's how he built such a strong relationship with blue
collar voters. On the heels of last year's election loss,
Democrats moving even further left.

Speaker 39 (01:00:09):
Far left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocassio Cortes is being mentioned as
a possible senate or even presidential candidate in twenty twenty eight.
Louisiana Senator John Kennedy says Republicans aren't worried. Our plan
for dealing with her is called Operation letter Speak, but
some Democrats are worried. Veteran dem strategist Doug Schoen tells
Fox this is the wrong direction for the party.

Speaker 15 (01:00:28):
The American people want to move in the direction Donald
Trump is moving.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
They probably don't want to move as quickly as he.

Speaker 15 (01:00:34):
Does, but they see my party as rudderless, leaderless, without
a message strategy, and out of touch.

Speaker 39 (01:00:41):
Recent polso's AOC leading New York Senator Chuck Schumer by
nearly twenty points among Democrats Corey Jolson, who's Radio seven

Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
When it comes to the news, it really matters, the
mainstream media continues to not report.

Speaker 33 (01:00:53):
It, even in the care coverage. I don't think the
American people trust them, and they talk about the chillion's
loss wealth and people losing everything when the press were
huge cheerleaders of the COVID lockdown that took so much
from so many innocent Americans.

Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
That's Curtis how, managing editor at NewsBusters. He says, most
Americans have already figured out where they get the news
and the truth. Thanks to President Trump's massive border security
reform and strong messaging, it seems like in just a
few months He's managed to finally end Joe Biden's four
year long border crisis.

Speaker 13 (01:01:27):
Just because the border crisis is over, that doesn't mean
the work is finished.

Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
Border security is not over.

Speaker 19 (01:01:31):
We still have a border that is porous in locations
and will still need infrastructure such as roads, barriers, lighting technology.

Speaker 13 (01:01:38):
That's terroll County sheriff that is Cleveland, He says, now
we need to work on preventing a second border crisis.

Speaker 19 (01:01:43):
Hopefully during the Trump administration, we can finish the border wall,
add more technology in places like the bigmin sector, and
of course hire more borbatraal agents.

Speaker 13 (01:01:51):
He added that he's hopeful most of America has learned
the dangers of open borders and won't vote for them again.

excess toll revenue to the city and President. All excess

that most of the county's toll roads passed through Houston.

The big story of the week on used Radio seven
forty KTRH.

Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Let's talk about the fakers. What six thirty eight is
that time? Here in Houston's boarding news. The Department of
Government Efficiency DOGE on Wednesday says it has discovered tens
of thousands of unemployment claims for improbably old and young
claimants were approved in the years after twenty twenty. Who

(01:04:06):
was in the White House in twenty twenty? Yeah, sleepy.
Joe Elon Musk Group wrote in a post on x
that it's initial review of unemployment insurance claims since twenty
twenty revealed a significant number of unemployment claims from people
over one hundred and fifteen years old. I can't work.
I'm one hundred and fifteen and between the ages of

(01:04:27):
one and five. Yeah, I think we have rules against
one year olds working. A one year old job is
to work their parents. Over Dose said that twenty four thousand,
five hundred people over the age of one hundred and
fifteen claimed fifty nine million in benefits, while twenty eight
thousand people between one and five years old claimed two

(01:04:48):
hundred and fifty four million in benefits. Nine seven hundred
people with birth dates over fifteen years into the future
claimed sixty nine million in benefits. One case, someone with
a birthday of twenty one fifty four claimed forty one
thousand dollars. What oh, And here's the other part you'll love.

(01:05:13):
The majority of the claims, meaning the states that had
the most of these fraustulent claims were New York, California,
and Illinois, which all have something in common. They're all
blue states. Six forty time for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Forest Park Cemetery, Lindale, and see if we've got somebody
getting benefits here.

Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Probably do, sky Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Let's see some golf freeway right by Forest Park and
as you're going to Waystside, it's nice so far, man,
I'm hungry thinking about Waystside northbound. Some breaks at golf
right before Scott Streep. Outside of that, we have not
had our wreck yet from Park Place, and it's just
twenty eight minutes from clear Lake up into downtown Southwest Freeway.
We're still smashed up now. That's on the inbound. We

(01:05:58):
had a wreck at the West Loop a while back.
It may stay that way for a little bit. Chimney
Rocky hit some breakes Westop going down to uptown just
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:06:05):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
Terry southbound right around Woodway, a bit of a break
check here, and Cindy from Dayton found a stall on
the inbound New ninety right before the bud Plant, right
before it merges with the East Loops six ten. She
says it's sticking out there. And the Nick from Cyprus
says she sounds like pecan pie on the Kadie Freeway.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
So far, so good.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
Double check that and we're just twenty six minutes in.
Let's go from the east side. It looks good all
the way out to the Golden Triangle.

Speaker 30 (01:06:34):
One of my favorite names of a town in Texas is.

Speaker 1 (01:06:39):

think that's down the road from Jimmy Fred, Texas? Ethe
is there an Ethel Texas?

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):

time here in Houston's morning news. A right at the
cabinet meeting yesterday. Trump in the cabin and talking about
a whole variety of things. Let's start with this one.
Here is Trump with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseath who's announcing
two pretty important deals that were made with Panama over

(01:11:12):
the Panama Canal.

Speaker 26 (01:11:14):
We were at the Panama Canal with their selfcom Commander
Ships FA Team's troops and signed a couple of historic deals,
one which is with the Panama Canal Authority a framework.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
For US vessels first and free through the Panama Canal.

Speaker 26 (01:11:30):
And then also a memorandum of understanding with their Security
Minister for the presidence of US troops Fort Sherman. It's
an old US base there, as well as a naval
station and air station jointly with Panama to secure the
Panama Canal from Chinese influence.

Speaker 1 (01:11:47):
That's something you said, we're taking back the canal. China
said too much influence Obama and others.

Speaker 26 (01:11:53):
Let them creep in. We along with Panama, are pushing
him out, sir. And so we had a very successful
trip their President Milino, since his regards very complimentary of
the US.

Speaker 1 (01:12:04):
He's a great ally.

Speaker 26 (01:12:05):
And I think they want the communist Chinese out and
with our troops they're partnering with their forces, we've got
a chance to push them all the way out, sir.

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
All right, So we're pushing out the Chinese at the
Panama Canal and getting back to free passage for US
ships because after all, we built that thing for y'all,
all right. Another one, Commerce Secretary Howard Luttnik talking about
how many countries have been contacting the Trump administration to
negotiate over trade in tariffs.

Speaker 36 (01:12:34):
So we've have so many countries to talk to him.

Speaker 22 (01:12:37):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
It's incredible, I think.

Speaker 36 (01:12:41):
Scott and I I'm not sure we could ever have
enough time in the day to talk to all these
countries because they want to talk, and they want to
talk now, and they have come with offers that they
never ever ever would have come.

Speaker 40 (01:12:53):
With but for.

Speaker 36 (01:12:55):

minutes with an update on the forecast, currently sixty two
at your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty

Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
Here's Eric Sharp, Good morning, seven oh two on news
Radio seven forty k t RH. This news brought to
you by shoppist John Deere. Our top story this hour,
President Trump ramping up tariffs on China. To one hundred
and forty five percent. At a cabinet meeting yesterday, he
said he believes there is still plenty of room for
the negotiation.

Speaker 34 (01:16:49):
Have great respect for President She's been in a true sense,
he's been a friend of mine for a long period
of time, and I think that we'll end up working
on something that's very good for both countries.

Speaker 4 (01:17:02):
China responding this morning by adding several US companies to
a trade blacklist and raising their own tariffs.

Speaker 40 (01:17:09):
One analyst says the move to insulate the US economy
from China began years ago with shortfalls of essential equipment
during COVID. The two economies are still heavenly integrated. Last year,
the US and China traded more than five hundred and
eighty billion dollars in goods and services, more than the
five hundred and seventy five billion the year before. Though
last year, global management consultancy Carne released a report showing

(01:17:32):
that the US is importing more goods made closer to
home now and less from Asian countries like China.

Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
Bucks is rich Edson at the White House and during
President Trump's cabinet meeting Thursday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio
defending his department's cracked down on immigration and revoking more
than three hundred visas nationwide, many for destructive anti Israeli
protests on campus.

Speaker 32 (01:17:54):
No one's entitled to a student visa. The press cover
student visas like there's some sort of birthright now, A
student visas like me inviting you into my home. If
you come into my home and put all kinds of
crap on my couch, I might kick you out of
my house. And so you know, that's what we're doing
with our country thanks to the President.

Speaker 4 (01:18:10):
Here in Texas, the removal effects students at UT Arlington,
the University of North Texas, UT Dallas, Texas A and
m U t Rio Grande Valley, Texas Tech, U TECH
and Texas Women's University. The economy will be cooking in
two years, it's according to Trump advisor Roger Stone, as
tariffs calls uncertainty in the business sector. Economist To Evans

(01:18:31):
again says that if Tariff's work, tax cuts get extended
and deregulation happens, will be cooking. But it's only time
will tell.

Speaker 24 (01:18:39):
So over the last couple of weeks, we've seen eleven
trillion dollars in wealth that's been evaporated, particularly from the tariffs.
I'm hopeful that that will in quickly and then hope
we can get back to more sound, pro growth policies
that will let people prosper across the country.

Speaker 4 (01:18:54):
He says. The boom will depend on how long the
tariff's stare down continues. A member of MS thirteen, who
had already been deported eleven times, was once again deported
by the Trump administration. In their coverage of the deportation,
CNN and MSNBC referred to the illegal as just a
Maryland man. They did it one hundred and twenty times.

Speaker 27 (01:19:14):
His illegal entry into the country was only mentioned in
one story out of thirty two stories that CNN ran,
and then on MSNBC it was I believe fifteen percent
of the stories that they ran about him mentioned the
fact that he was an illegal alien.

Speaker 4 (01:19:29):
That's Bill Degostino at the Media Research Center. He says,
it's just a mainstream media pushing their open borders agenda
at all costs when it comes to the news that
really matters, that mainstream media continues to not report on it.

Speaker 33 (01:19:43):
Even in the tariff coverage. I don't think the American
people trust them, and they talk about the trillions lost
in wealth and people losing everything when the Pressed were
huge cheerleaders of the COVID lockdowns that took so much
from so many innocent Americans.

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
That's Curtis how managing there at NewsBusters. He says, more
Americans have already figured out where to get the news
and the truth. Well, Trump got some good economic news
in the Margin Consumer Price Index report. Prices fell month
to month by zero point one percent and rowse by
just two point four percent year over year. Or energy
prices played a major role.

Speaker 35 (01:20:19):
Big drop on energy prices in anticipation that demand from
energy is going to drop. We have heard that some
projects have been put on hold until we get more clarity.

Speaker 4 (01:20:32):
That's katyrh money Man pat Shed. He says that they'll
help bring down transportation prices, which could in turn help
offset any price increases that we might see from Trump's tariffs.
US adults and AI experts have differing views on artificial
intelligence and its capabilities in the future. It's according to
a few Research Center survey, a lot of times.

Speaker 23 (01:20:54):
Public perception, especially around AI when its negative has centered
around well, it's going to start replacing jobs it's going
to start replacing the things that I'm being paid for
to do. And that's a natural fear that comes from
maybe not knowing how it could actually help you.

Speaker 4 (01:21:10):
Andrea Chelsea, a chief operating officer of Espresso AI. The
survey found that it's fifty six percent of experts believe
AI will have a positive impact on everyday life, compared
to just seventeen percent of regular adults. K t H

A teenager shot while sitting at his park car outside

Sharpstown reliable KTRH traffic and weather. Next on the ten
SEVENO at our time here in Houston's Moring News. There's
not a cool jerk at Texas, but there is a
cool Texas. Yeah, cool col little town in Parker County.

(01:22:31):
I don't know how it's got its name, but it's cool.
There's a lot of weird names for Texas. Town's bug Tussel.
Not sure how that happened, bigfoot Texas, blanket Texas the list.
I think we, of course, were one of the biggest states,
second only to Alaskan size. That must have something to

(01:22:51):
do with it. But either that or it's our sense
of humor. Here's a cute little story. There's a place
called dime Box, Texas. Dime Box. It's in Lee County.
It didn't used to be called dime Box. The town
was originally named in eighteen sixty nine Brown's Mill, and

(01:23:11):
between eighteen sixty nine and eighteen seventy seven they got
confused for Brownsville so many times that they decided to
change the name. They got the name because residents. They
had a post office there they'd opened up in eighteen
seventy seven and residents would deposit it their outgoing mail
with a dime in a small box inside the mill's

(01:23:32):
office for weekly delivery to our nearby town. So thus
the name dime box. There's a ding Dong Texas. Yep,
ding Dong Texas is in Bell County. We have Fate Texas,
Frog not Texas, good night Texas, gun Barrel Texas, johnam

(01:23:53):
Down Texas, Hermit Texas. Nothing to do with the frog
as far as I know, Loco Tech and let me
see here maybe. And of course you know Bob Muleshoe,
Texas right which is in Bailey County seven to ten
time for traffic and weather together. He lives in gun Barrel, Texas.
There you go, great, have a lot of folks. We
have a lot of folks. And cut shoot, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:24:14):
Cutt and shoot always makes somebody's list, of course, cool
names and stuff. Let's see, we'll get to that shortly.
We've got Chris from Roseenbert. No, I'm not running that
in front of Terry. Let's go downtown and let's see
which way we're going eastbound. Got a wreck downtown right
around the b Someone bridge. So that's after the merge
with forty five. This will be a two headed monster
here Katie Freeway. It's not any worse than it usual.

(01:24:36):
From Studemont North Freeway. I guess it's Friday. We're back
from the North Street Bridge, which is very scenic spot.
East Texas Freeway downtown. Did they clear that guy a
lions yet?

Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
They did.

Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
He's not in trouble. That was just a map truck.
We're back up from equipment. If you're trying to get
down to midtown, it's an extra six minutes this way.
And overall we're not bad. We found a wreck here,
Robert from Crosby on the North SAM that was eastbound
at Imperial Valley. Westbound, we got the squish at all
Dean Westfield.

Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
That's I thought that was going to be clear.

Speaker 20 (01:25:06):
No, it's not.

Speaker 3 (01:25:07):
And let's see we had we did have a fred Texas.

Speaker 1 (01:25:10):

Speaker 1 (01:28:20):
Seven twenty two is our time here on Houston's morning news.
Speaking of county sheriffs, that is Cleveland Terrell County Sheriff
joins us here on news radio seven forty KTRH. Welcome
to the show sheriff. What before we get into the
meat of the interview here, what's the worst excuse you
ever heard for speeding?

Speaker 27 (01:28:37):
Wow?

Speaker 19 (01:28:40):
Pick one, honestly, Jimmy. Hey, first of all, it's great
to be back on with you. And since seriously, you
could just pick any excuse anything you would say.

Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
We've heard. I mean, if you ever had something me say,
I really gotta go poop.

Speaker 4 (01:28:51):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
I've heard that one.

Speaker 19 (01:28:54):
But even let me tell you when it's even better
when when smugglers come down to the county to pick
people up. And again Aryl County, tenth county, but when
we have a population of about seven hundred and I
know all seven hundred. So when they throw a name,
actually that that someone that doesn't live.

Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
Here, Oh man, they're done. They're done. So yeah, that's
that's that's the problem with coming to a small place
like that. You can't make up that kind of excuse. Well,
you know we're hearing the border crisis is over. Are
you ready to declare the border crisis dead?

Speaker 30 (01:29:22):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (01:29:23):
You know what it certainly is.

Speaker 19 (01:29:24):
And when we talk about the border crisis, we're talking
about the last four years under the Biden administration. That
was that was created by by the administration allowing millions
of people to come in the United States. But I
have to say what we still have to tackle as
border security, meaning that the crisis is over, but portions
of our border are still unsecured. And I truly think

(01:29:45):
that President Trump's going to finish the job. And what
the reason I say that is he has moved at
a pace that that I didn't expect under this current administration.
I don't think anybody is used to the pace that
this president works at. I mean, this is the difference
between having a politician and having a businessman at charge.
All you have to do is watch one of his

(01:30:06):
cabinet meetings to see it's like a board of directors meeting.

Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
It's not. It's not like your normal cabinet meeting back
in the day that that's how they're getting all kinds
of things done. What about the cartels we know we have,
you know, very few people who are showing up or
going across the border. I'm sure the cartels are still
attempting to do business. We're hearing things like maybe they're
smuggling people back the other way across the border. Is
that one of the things you're finding well well, no,

(01:30:30):
I wouldn't say I haven't seen any of them. The
cartel smug them people back across the border. But what
we do know is that they're not going to sit
idle and just give up their business and walk away.
We know that that they're watching every step we still make.
They're watching the current laid down across the border, whether
it's Department of Defense on our side assisting the US
Board Patrol, the Mexican National Guard on the south side.

(01:30:52):
They're watching every step and they're going to go back
to some of their more traditional ways. When the border,
of course, prior to the Biden administration was was certainly
more secure than it was the last four years. You know,
they utilize the ports of entry, so I really foresee
them going back to the ports of entry, smuggling, you know, people,
and the DANGERUS drugs such as fitanel through the ports
of entry. Yeah, fentanyl's got to be the the number

(01:31:13):
one issue. If you are to give any advice to
the Trump administration, I'm finding fedanol what would it be
at this point. I mean, we have a two border
problem there right, not just the southern border, but the
northern border as well.

Speaker 19 (01:31:25):
We certainly do and I'll tell you what I think.
I think they're already heading in the right direction. The
reason I say that we have seen Fittnel seizures down.
Of course it is still coming. We want it to
completely to zero. We want completely zero people crossed into
before we can declare the border completely secured. But h
but again, the steps he's taken by designating the cartels

(01:31:46):
as a terrorist organization, that's that's a huge move that
opens up a lot of doors. And again they're the
ones that are manufacturing the Fittanahl and smuggling across the border.
And if we can take new measures to h to
attack the cartels, and when I see it, I'm not meaning,
you know, go out and fight them in war, but
you know, bringing the whole of government approach, getting everybody
after him and.

Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
Taking care of them once.

Speaker 27 (01:32:10):
And for all.

Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
All right, Jeff, keep doing all the things you do.
We appreciate it that as Terrell County Sheriff, that E
is Cleveland. It's seven twenty six. Time to take a
look at your money as we check in once again
with Jeff Bellinger and Jimmy.

Speaker 38 (01:32:22):
This report is sponsored by Total Wine and More. With
all the attention on tariffs. We could easily forget that
the first quarter earnings reporting season is beginning. JP Morgan
Chase and Wells Fargo opened their books this morning and
the numbers were positive, and that could help to explain
why the futures are in positive territory at the moment. Now,
futures up one hundred and fourteen. Analysts Cities say investors

(01:32:45):
may want to take a look at Six Flags and
United Parks. Shares of the theme park operators are trading
below cities lowered targets. A note says six Flags and
United Parks are domestic focus. They may be immune from
the tariff war and the economy slowing. Some families may
trade down to parks close to home and skip more
high end destinations. Translation Six Flags over Texas, It's a

(01:33:09):
lot easier on the budget than Disney World. I'm Jeff Bellinger,

Speaker 4 (01:34:49):
Here's Eric Sharp, Good Morning, seven thirty one on news
Radio seven forty k TRHR. Top story this hour, the
House passing a budget plan. It's vital to advancing President
Trump's agenda. Speaker Mike john And says it's a big
win for the American people.

Speaker 11 (01:35:02):
The big news today, of course, as we pass the
budget resolution. We've adopted the Senate's amendments to the resolution.

Speaker 4 (01:35:10):
The vote two sixteen to two fourteen is only two
Republicans voted with Democrats to oppose the plan. The Texas
House has started debate on a proposed budget, which is
more than one thousand pages long. State Rep. Greg Bonnan
says that the plan reflects the state's conservative priorities.

Speaker 12 (01:35:26):
Our committee heard from over six hundred witnesses and collectively
spent over one hundred and nineteen hours in public meetings.

Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
By Detractors like State Rep. Brian Harrison, have ripped the budget,
calling it a liberal wish list that was drawn up
behind closed doors. The state Senate already passed its own
budget weeks ago. After his twenty twenty four win, Trump
has solidified his legendary status in political history. Even leftist
Bill Maher has been forced to acknowledge that Trump is

(01:35:55):
one of the most effective politicians.

Speaker 13 (01:35:58):
Marher recently said, his effectiveness from the fact that he's
so authentic.

Speaker 14 (01:36:02):
He's very different from what I think the caricature is
of who he is. He is very authentic, he is
very real. He says what he thinks. He's naturally funny.

Speaker 13 (01:36:10):
GP consultant Matt MCCOVEYAC says, that's how he's managed to
build such a strong relationship with blue collar voters.

Speaker 14 (01:36:16):
That's how he's built the Maga agenda. It's been built
over thirty or forty years of listening and learning and
watching and see if you understand how other people live
their lives.

Speaker 13 (01:36:24):
Q went on to say that Trump's authenticity has set
a new standard in politics and there's no going back.

Recent poll shows Congress froman Alexandria Concio Cortes leading New
York Senator Chuck Schumer by a wide margin and a
potential primary Veteran Democrats janitorist Doug Shoan telling Fox that
this spells trouble for the party.

Speaker 15 (01:36:47):
This to me is a warning shot across Senator Schumer's bow.
And indeed all Democrats who have been in Congress for many,
many years.

Speaker 4 (01:36:55):
The GOP doesn't seem to be worrying. That's according to
Louisiana Senator John Kenna.

Speaker 16 (01:37:01):
I come share our Congresswoman Okaeshio cortege to be the
leader of the Democratic Party. As I've said about him before,
I think she's the region. There are directions on a shampoopot.

AOC has recently been on a national tour with Senator
Bernie Sanders. Even though President Trump signed an executive order,

Speaker 4 (01:38:02):
Thanks to the quick work of the Trump administration, it
looks like the Biden border crisis is already over, but
that doesn't mean border security efforts are any less important.

Speaker 16 (01:38:11):
Now.

Speaker 19 (01:38:12):
The Cartail's not going to just give up. As they
see what the US is doing, They're going to shift
their operations. But Bordraitrol has the ability to what we
call lift and shift. If we start seeing full large
amount of activity out this way, Bordertrol will send additional resources.

Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
That's Terrell County Sheriff Thaddius Cleveland. He hopes that the
last four years have shown how important it is to
continue investing in border security and not let a second
border crisis happen. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is working through
his political pivot towards President Trump and MAGA and Washington
as a controversial monopoly.

Speaker 16 (01:38:47):
The fact that.

Speaker 20 (01:38:47):
There's so sensis of going out in Meta on Instagram, Yeah,
like like uh, this is who he is, this is
you know all that dance are about Oh, you know,
I want.

Speaker 1 (01:38:56):
To be a free speech absolutist and.

Speaker 4 (01:38:57):
Stuff like that.

Speaker 20 (01:38:58):
Well it sounds good, but I all take everything up.
But says with a massive grain of salt.

Speaker 4 (01:39:03):
Business associate editor at the Media Research Center Joseph Vasquez,
there meta facing a landmark anti trust trial. It's sent
to start next week. Texas gas prices continuing to fall
along with crude oil. Triple A has the state wide
average for regular ud leaded at two dollars eighty two
cents per gallon. It's down five cents from last week,

(01:39:26):
forty one cents cheaper a year ago. Houston's average fell
two cents this week to two dollars seventy eight cents
per gallon. The national average since at three dollars twenty
two cents. Analysts note the drop in crude oil, which
has fall into five year lows just in the last week.
In sports, the Astros were off yesterday. They'll be back
home to host the La Angels for a weekend series

(01:39:48):
starting tonight. Live coverage over on Sports Talk seven ninety
will begin at six pm I. Meanwhile, the Rockets they're
out in LA. They'll take on the Lakers tonight. That
game can be heard right here on KTRH. It'll start
at eight I met Eric Sharp on Euston's News, Weather,
in Traffic station News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
What started in your car now works on your phone
with the new iHeartRadio apps.

Speaker 1 (01:40:12):
The new precess are fantastic. Get Houston's news, weather and traffic.
How I listen to KTRH instantly. It's a tradition like
no other. The Masters seven point thirty seven are time
here in Houston this morning news. Right near the final
stretch of the first round of the Masters yesterday, amateur
golfer Jose Luis Ballister felt something coming on. It was pressure.

(01:40:40):
Wasn't pressure to make a putt, wasn't pressure to hit
a shot. It was bladder pressure. He had to go.
And if your guy, you understand when you gotta go,
you gotta go. But you're an Augusta Nashville in the
opening round of the Masters. You can't just pee on
the golf course. So shortly after he walked off the green,

(01:41:03):
the twelfth green. The twenty one year old amateur who
goes to Arizona State's Senior there evidently had forgotten that
there were portajohn's to let the thirteenth old tea box,
and he went to a nearby creek raised creek and
peed into the creek, hoping, hoping a lot of people

(01:41:25):
wouldn't see him, but people did. He said, I really
needed to pee. I didn't really know where to go,
so I'm like, I'm just going to sneak over here
to the river and probably people won't see me that much.
And then he peed and they clapped for him. Was
it a golf clap? Maybe? Maybe were they clapping because

(01:41:46):
he was peeing in the creek or were they impressed?
I'm not sure. Clearly he wasn't totally in private. Technically,
I guess he probably is guilty of indecent exposure, right,
I mean, if you could see the apparatus is using
the pe with that, that's in decent exposure. I don't
think anybody's pressing any charges though, And as it turned out,

(01:42:09):
it probably was the right move to make, because he
was four over for the first twelve holes once he
went pe. Once he went to the bathroom, he was
even par for the rest of the round, so he
seemed to play better once he got rid of the pressure.
Time for Traffick and Weather together he's peeing for eagle
on the seventeenth. There you go perfect. You can hear

(01:42:31):
Jim Nan saying it. Now, let's go to the loop here.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
Let's get loopy on six to ten south coming off
the Ship Channel Bridge.

Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
I am so not in a working mood this morning,
by the way, but here you are. There's that a stall.

Speaker 3 (01:42:45):
I think that's roadwork there right at Golf Kay and
it's westbound, so this is messing you up. Off the
Ship Channel Bridge. It was about four to six minutes
on the southbound. That's the digitals. I really think that's
worth That looks like it's more like a ten minute
spackle here. So if you're trying to get around this
way to golf Gate, you know what my secret hack
don't tell anybody is wayside. How about I be someone

(01:43:07):
bridge wreck That is Katie Freeway inbound, that's technically Hogan Street.
We'll take one, two, three left lanes and back up
now from Yale on the KDI. It's not affecting forty
five like I thought it would. Forty five North Freeway
slow from Golf Bank down and you lose about six
minutes this way southwest Freeway. Some smashes here right at
the west Park Curve and again at Kirby and we're

(01:43:30):
looking awfully thick here on the north sam Alding Westfield
westbound eastbound Imperial Valley. Let's go downtown, dude, morning, Yeah,
fifty nine northbound the itin.

Speaker 9 (01:43:40):
But got a stall vehicle in the outside left lane.

Speaker 1 (01:43:45):
Need an India all right, need a.

Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
Ninja downtown on your east text elevated, Oh banana stickers
Dug from Mott Bellevue, off my Facebook for your help.

Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
Hazardous Mixed from Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (01:43:54):
And let's see Sindy from the Woodlands and Jimmy from
Paarland seven one three two one two t ips.

Speaker 1 (01:44:00):
I'm Skymike on the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center
from our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour weather Center.
Terry Smith has got the forecast for you. Yep, I'm checking.
No clouds, still no gloves.

Speaker 5 (01:44:13):
Yeah, I think you'll be hard pressed to find any clouds.
But it's kind of a subtle change, That's what I'll
call it. On this weekfront that's moving through. It's just
bringing us some drier air, so a little less humidity.
We'll make it a very comfortable. Couple of days today
and tomorrow, the humidity low and then the humidities back

(01:44:34):
in some former fashions by Sunday. So this afternoon temperatures
in the mid to upper eighties, and it pleasant tonight
in the in the fifties overnight and tomorrow load to
mid eighties for highs now. We're still sunny and dry Sunday,
Monday Tuesday warming up into the mid to upper eighties
Sunday and Monday Tuesday load to mid eighties. There's not

(01:44:56):
a big change in the temperatures, and obviously no change
in the fact that we.

Speaker 25 (01:45:01):
Are dry through next week.

Speaker 1 (01:45:02):
Right now sixty four at your official severe weather station,

June Depth. We'll talk to him next. First, we've got
traffic and weather together. Short go ahead so much.

Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
Let's do your kadie freeway here. I've got a stall
at Darry Ashford. I don't know why he's over on
the exit rapper entrance ramp. I don't know why that's
causing the suck age it is, but there. It is
Highway six and also that racked downtown by the be
someone Rich Hogan. That is still three left lines inbound.
Big back up from Yale. I'm Skymike and the Generator
Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center from.

The Commerce Ministry announcing this morning the country raising tariffs
on US imports from eighty four to one hundred and
twenty five percent. State lawmakers moving to lift the ban
on short barrel firearms in Texas, a Senate bill clear

Speaker 1 (01:47:32):
I live in Katie.

Speaker 2 (01:47:33):
I live in itdo you're reliable? Forecast? Next on the
ten on seven forty KTRH is fighting back against the
Trump administration. You note that they are.

Speaker 1 (01:47:45):
So it's the advice of our next guest, Ryan Jundeaf,
who writes all kinds of things for American thinker, that
we don't go wobbly. Mega needs to not go wobbly
on the deep state. Welcome back to the program, Sir,
doctor Brian June Death is with us. Can you give
us exams up? I noticed in your article you talked
about market Thatcher, the very prime Minister and President George

(01:48:05):
Herbert Walker Bush and the invasion of Iraq is a
good example of how we almost went wobbly.

Speaker 41 (01:48:15):
Exactly that that was a phrase that she told him
not to go wobbly because he was dithering about his
response to Saddam Husane invading Kuwait. And this is when
he built a coalition and we pushed Saddam out of Kuwait,
and he was dithering on that and whether he was
going to do anything or not.

Speaker 1 (01:48:33):
And Margaret said, George, this is not the time to
go wobbly.

Speaker 41 (01:48:37):
So I paraphrased that, and I'm telling that to Trump's
supporters in the MAGA base not to go wobbly about
Trump's plans rights, economic plans, and social plans, the tariffs.

Speaker 1 (01:48:51):
Everything else. Well, certainly he is not going wobbly on
the tariffs, has he No, he hasn't.

Speaker 41 (01:48:56):
He's doubling down, and I encourage supporters to stick with him.
I think this is all well planned out. He's been
working on this for years of what he was going
to do, and let it play out. Trump always comes
up with the winning hand. If you watch most of
his things, work has very well, and if you bet

(01:49:18):
against them, you're going to lose. And for somebody to
have a winning hand like that over and over and
over again, either knows what he's doing or he has
divine projects, it seems either.

Speaker 1 (01:49:27):
Way, Yeah, either way it works. Yeah, I think he.
I think it's more that he knows. He may have
divined providence, but it's more about he knows exactly what
he's doing, and I think he's thinking two or three
steps ahead of almost everybody, which is why they can't
figure out exactly what it is that he's up to.
He's got seventy five countries, Doctor June Deeff, who want
who can't wait to sit down and bargain free trade

(01:49:49):
and free tariffs for everybody. And I wouldn't be surprised
if he doesn't talk some of these countries into increasing
their tariffs like he has on China. He might look
at this as a great, great time to do a
power move on China. Oh, I'm sure he does.

Speaker 41 (01:50:04):
And we've got seventy five countries and I want to
sit down and talk, and I think it's going to
be a lot more than just teriffs.

Speaker 1 (01:50:11):
You're going to talk about mineral rights.

Speaker 41 (01:50:14):
Natural resources, military, other things where we have common interest
and disagreements. And this is a great realignment our relationship
with so many other countries, and China is going to
be on the outside, look them in and nobody's.

Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
Gonna want to deal with China.

Speaker 41 (01:50:28):
Australia already said no, we're not gonna stand with China
against America.

Speaker 1 (01:50:33):
You're on your own. Do you think that eventually China.
I thought it was very interesting that President Trump said
yesterday that maybe it was the day before that, you know,
he doesn't think it's not because China isn't willing or
doesn't want to negotiate. They don't know how to. They
never have had to. They don't know how to.

Speaker 41 (01:50:54):
I'm sure they don't. They've always gotten their way. They've
been bullies on the world stage. And I'm sure China
has its own deep state. And that's an interesting proposition.
Is she really in charge or is there a Chinese
deep state that's pulling the strings over there? Who knows,
But yes, this is new territory for them. And American

(01:51:14):
presidents and other politicians have always rolled over, and Trump's
the first one that's standing up to them in a
serious way.

Speaker 1 (01:51:21):
And they don't know what to do. Yeah. Well, like
you say, they're not used to people rolling over. I
mean they had their way with the Biden administration for
four years. The Biden administration didn't do anything other than
cooperating whatever it was they wanted to do.

Speaker 41 (01:51:33):
Absolutely, the Biden administration had their handout and they were
getting paid by China. Hunter was the Biden family, and
the China got their way, they bought their way, and
all of a sudden that strategy is not working anymore
and they don't like it.

Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
Nope, they don't always good to talk to you, Sarah,
Thank you so much for your time today. Appreciate it.
Thank you. That's Brian, doctor Brian June Depth with American Thinker. Yeah,
I don't, I just I don't think Trump's going to
back down. It's up to the rest of us who
support the things that he's doing to not back down.
If you show up at the grocery store today and
a few things you like to buy have some sort

(01:52:09):
of an origin in China, and all of a sudden
they're more expensive, you know, you're just gonna have to
say to yourself, well, I'm either going to get something
else that's less expensive, or I'm just go go ahead
and bite you bite the bullet. For now. It'll be fine.
I know it'll be fine. Listen, y'all, have a great weekend.
See you tomorrow morning, or make that Monday morning, bright
and early at five am. Hope to see the stat
from A four and am nine to fifty k PRC
