Speaker 1 (00:00):
So remember we just talked about the people.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I think it was back out in Vegas actually, where
that guy had the trapeze in his backyard. Yeah, and
the neighbors were throwing a fit. We have something very
similar locally, like trapeze size. There's a dude who lives
in Howard County. He lives on hold On because I
(00:25):
went to the change dot org petition what mink Hollow
Road And when I looked it up, it looks like
it's between like Only and Columbia, so kind of heading
up that way. Neighbors are pissed because he has built
a full sized go kart track in his backyard for
(00:46):
his son. Now, this guy, by the way, the pictures
are crazy.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
It's not just a novel. It literally is a.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
By the way, he's got a tremendous amount of property,
but it's a full size go kart track. And he
said he he thinks his kid does well enough that
he could one day go on and become man a
race car driver.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
So right now he's doing go karts.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
I thought the track we did in Rehobeth was cool.
This is crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
So this guy has got a whole thing set up
in his backyard. Built a go kart track in his backyard.
They just describe him as being a Maryland dad, an
attempt to do something cool for his son. Neighbors are
pissed and they want the track removed. They said, you
think it's bad if somebody's got like a leaf blower
(01:44):
out or a lawnmower. This guy's racing and it's not
like one of those little quiet like. This guy is
racing go carts in his backyard. So is the petition
to keep it or to get it remo?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Now?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Remove?
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Removed?
Speaker 5 (02:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Court document show the owner purchased the property in twenty sixteen,
invested one hundred thousand dollars into building the track. He's
also since applied for a conditional use permit that would
allow them to use the track for private use, and
promised his son will only use go karts during agreed
upon hours. According to the change dot org petition, Oh
(02:27):
hell no, So I just knew it was Maryland. But
when I clicked on the UH. When I clicked on
the change dot org petition, it was said to Howard
County Council Member David Youngman, Yeah, min Collo.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Road, So somebody definitely knows what this is.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
They have to come on, you don't have a go
kart track at your backyard and nobody knows.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
I almost don't even want to call it a go
kart track because it's so much more detailed than that.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Well, what do you want to call it? Formula one?
I mean it is. It's crazy what's built back there.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
And you get a sense of its size when you
look at the house, and if you were to just
grab it and bring over the track, the track dwarfs
the home.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Oh yeah, no, it is. It's enormous.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Like even Travis Pastrana goes do respect. That's crazy. So
I don't know who that guy is.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Wait line, what four?
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Elliot in the morning?
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yes, are we giving names or no?
Speaker 6 (03:39):
I don't think I want to give my name, But
I'm very familiar with the racetrack issue. My dad is
actually one of the neighbors impacted by it.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Is your dad one of the neighbors that hates it?
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
And does he hate it just because it's so goddamn loud.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
That's the funny thing. The guy actually hasn't started racing yet,
but the neighbor himself is just like the biggest tool,
like I'm not sure where if you guys read about
this article in the drive or where this came up,
but I feel like at least that was what you
guys thought. That's what I saw on this yesterday. I
(04:20):
feel like it was very favorable of like that. This
neighbor's like, oh what was me? The neighbors are all
being mean to me about this racetrack this guy did.
He's been so nasty to everybody who's even asked him
about it. He destroyed a communal driveway and bringing in
all the materials to build this stupid racetrack. So like,
this guy is a piece of work. That's why people
(04:41):
don't like it.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Oh so the neighbors.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
The neighbors hate him just because, according to the neighbors,
he's just a big douchebag.
Speaker 6 (04:50):
I mean that's let's just say. If he was a
nicer person, I don't know if it would have gotten
to the point that it is at right now. But
he like they're just I mean, like now multiple neighbors
can see this huge racetrack from their properties, Like this
is a very wealthy area up there, Like it's I
feel like the article that I read made it's not
(05:10):
like this was some rural you know, nobody can see
anybody like you can. My dad can see this racetrack
from his window, and yeah, it looks totally insane, like
you know, and he lives in a multimillion dollar house,
like it's it's nuts, Like, who I think. The thing
that cracks me up is there's actually a professional race
car driver that lives in the neighborhood. And when he
(05:34):
saw this, he was like, if you are serious about
your son becoming a carter, like an actual race car driver,
you would send them to some league like in Europe
to race you know, on you know, with like how
they trained Formula One drivers. Right, this is just like
an to me. This is an excuse for some rich
guy to build a race track on his property because
he thinks it's cool. I don't think it's actually gonna
(05:55):
help his son become a better racer.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Hey, what is the who's the professional driver who lives
in the neighborhood.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
I don't know if I want to say.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yes, you do, come on, who is I don't.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
Know if you guys know who tedgi ivanis is?
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I do not.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I do not.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Oh but I see a picture of him.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah, Tyler just pulled him up there he is, so
he lives in that neighbor if you guys.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
Yeah, if you guys know Vu from like the Porsche
of America, like he's he's in with like the Porsche community.
That's that's where I've.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Met him before I got you. Yeah, of course we
know Vu.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Maybe VU can bring cars to Douchebag's house and we
could raise them there.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
All right, very good, very good, Thank you man, thank you.
All right. So we don't and again that's just her
dad's opinion, I know.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
So I feel like you're gonna revisit that d bag
comment and the homeowner calls it.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
By the way, I'd love to talk to the homeowner.
I would love to talk to the homeowner.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Of course, many sides absolutely and turns and curse.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
I just don't have a name for him. I don't
know his name. Oh wait, line one, Hi Elliott in
the morning. Elliott, Yes, sir.
Speaker 7 (07:08):
First off, I've been wanting to call you on Friday
because I would love to fix Shabatchalon.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Same to you, do you?
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Whatever?
Speaker 7 (07:17):
So, men, Collo is such a big community, the property
is huge. I actually live a couple neighborhoods down in
Brinklow and I used to have a go cart, and
that kids wearing terrorized that whole neighborhood. That is, as
(07:38):
a boy, boys will be boys. I terrorized my parents
neighborhood with the go cart.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
By the way, And you know what what people aren't
even just thinking of, Like, yes, there's the sound of
the go cart, but there's also I'm not going slowly
in the turns, I'm screeching tires.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
I'm getting yester it bro.
Speaker 7 (08:00):
Actually, if they have a cold a stack.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
I don't need to swing round around.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I don't need a cold descent sack in my backyard.
So you don't know this guy. You just know the neighborhood.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
I know the neighborhood.
Speaker 7 (08:14):
I have a family friend that lived in the neighborhood.
And if I had a property that big, I mean,
if you are into go carts, wouldn't you want to
do that? Like, yeah, you have to get approval from
the HOA, if there even is one, because I don't
think I did some of the areas of HOA. But
(08:38):
at the same time, who cares well? The neighbors care property.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
The neighbors care, and mostly mostly I understand, hey have
a good shobis have a good shobist the because they
say is a big douchebag.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
But I don't know if that's the case. I'd love
to talk to him.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Robert on Facebook says they're a bunch of Karen's and
he writes, my parents have a neighbor with an outdoor
batting cage and they use metal bats. The get over it,
you know what. That wouldn't bother me.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
I'd go over and go as well, you have a
batting cage in your backyard?
Speaker 1 (09:14):
His hashtag ding ding ding. Wait now I'm getting backed up,
but now line five needs me. Hi Elliot in the morning. Hi, Yeah, Hi,
who's this? Hi?
Speaker 5 (09:31):
This is Katie.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Yes, Kate, And actually he's my boyfriend.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
He's not a dish shag, but he's definitely like likes
to get his way.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Now, you're the ex girlfriend of the guy who owns
the house.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, why did you two break up?
Speaker 5 (09:53):
It was like a long time ago.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
We were young.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
I was in my early twenties.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I gotcha, Hey, where did the.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
We still remain friends? And he actually sent me the
petition designed because they're trying to take this down. His
son is actually really good and they travel to Europe
for him to do this professional go kart babs.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Oh, well, I hope that first guy. Yeah, well, boy,
that looks like a little boohoo on you who's laughing? Now?
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Yeah, he's actually really good, Like it's amazing. He's ten
years old and he's actually really good.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Yeah. Uh huh. And Giovanna's is just cooking up some
crow for breakfast. Take that the All right? Very good.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Well I'm happy to uh, I'm happy to know that. Hey,
can I ask you this the well, I guess we shouldn't.
We shouldn't ask you the guy's name. That's fine, okay.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Were you too intimate together, Elliott? What that's important?
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yes? Well, no it doesn't.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
There are plenty of people who are in relationships and
not not intimate.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Were you guys intimate?
Speaker 5 (11:05):
I mean, I'll let you get.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
A few years, yes.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Of course. All right, very good, very good.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I'm not asking the question. Diane wants me to ask
you the question. I'm not asking the question. All right,
very good, very good, Thank you, Thank you? All right,
may as well go here.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Hi Ellie in the morning. Hello, Hello, yeah, Hi, who's
this Hi?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
This is Chris Soperco. I'm the owner of the car track.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Hey, you can answer the question.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Were you intimate with that?
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Chris? It's very nice to meet you. How are you?
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I'm good. How are you doing?
Speaker 1 (11:46):
I am doing well. Thank you, boy. You've caused quite a.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Stir I did. I did.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Now let's answer a couple of things.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
The the the the the track is beautiful, by the way,
thank you.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
What is so? What's the whole story?
Speaker 4 (12:04):
So the whole story is I live on a eleven
acre farm surrounded by trees. My soun races carts. So
every weekend we are in Florida. We're in Florida practicing,
racing all that stuff. So I wanted to build him
some here so he can practice while he's here, because
(12:25):
any sport you have to constantly do it to be good. Right. Sure,
I went online, went on Howard County's web page, put
in a search for car tracks. Nothing came up. I
put a search in for roads, and then when you
look in roads, it says the only thing is if
you do a road, you have to do Howard County
(12:48):
Department of Roads or whatever it is. So it wasn't
showing I needed a permit. I called several paving companies
out here. They said, you don't need to permit as
long as it's not going to the the main road,
touching a driveway, going to a man road. It's her property.
You could do whatever you want. The most the ones
(13:10):
told me that. Yeah, so well, that's what all these
pavement companies were telling me. I didn't think I needed one.
As far as the wetlands. I have something from the state.
Before we moved in, we got when.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Go ahead.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Yeah. Long story, short is it's it's for my son.
I didn't think it was going to be an issue.
We even proposed using electric carts, so the noise wouldn't
be an issue. Even if they weren't electric carts, the
noise wouldn't be an issue anyways, because I live on
a farm and nobody's even near it.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I talked to a young lady who said her dad
could see the cart right out of his window.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Kelly written, Okay, I mean I can send you guys pictures,
maybe a little piece through the woods. It's if you
bring it up online, you'll see a huge woods in
between any houses in the track. So maybe if you
peek through there might be a small spot.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
But I well, it sounds like you're telling me that
Kelly Kelly's dad's being a little Lukie loop.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Well, Kelly's a nutcase. I mean if you look at
her posts and what she's doing, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
So I don't know. Oh yeah, do you know, Ted Giovannis?
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Yeah right, I mean it comes down to this is
from a ten year old son to practice.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Do you really drive down to Florida or well I'm
guessing you don't drive, but you can fly?
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Thank you every weekend?
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Do you really?
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Hey, this is this is not cheap? Like what how
did you like? How did like you?
Speaker 2 (14:51):
And you live on an eleven acre farm like you
obviously do pretty well?
Speaker 4 (14:56):
I do? I do? Okay, So Southwest year and a
half ago offered us a credit card and if you
put I think four thousand dollars on it, you get
a companion pass. So obviously I got the card, we
got the companion pass, and then if you use the card,
you keep getting the companion pass. So my son flies free.
(15:17):
We'd fly with eight times there and back a month,
so we've saved roughly like twelve hundred bucks a month.
Good for you flying with Southwest.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
And then the last thing, the last thing I have
to ask you, and again it's just to be fair
and you'll answer yes or no. Some people said in
the neighborhood, they think you're a douchebag.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Are you a douchebag?
Speaker 4 (15:39):
I don't even really know the people in my neighborhood
except Kelly. I moved out here to get away from people.
I've never met Kelly in my life.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
And check out her posts.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Yeah, sure, well if you if you look at her posts,
she has no men on any of her pictures and
a dog. So if that tells you anything.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
The okay, all right, very good, very good. All right, Hey, Chris,
will do me a favor. Will you keep me posted
and let me know how this turns out?
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Absolutely all right, absolutely, okay, all right, very good.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Hey listen, and if your kid, if your kid makes
it to NASCAR F one, let's put in Elliott the
Morning sticker on that car.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
I'm not buying it, but let's put one on there.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Okay and awesome. I appreciate it. Thank you, you got it.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Thank you. Talk to you later. My friend, the rooster
Crogen lives on a farm.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Oh no, because it's time for the chicken feed.
