Clooney: 'We've been through worse'

Mar spent four years firing people up who had no
social outlet down in basements, talking to themselves, no friends,
no girlfriends, making them think everything was really bleak. I
actually appreciated Colooney's so my kids sent me. One of
my kids sent me the clip, and I swear the

clip that I got of Colooney was sent to me
by a child of mine who needed to hear what
he had this. That was the reason. Otherwise, because she
doesn't even care about stuff like this, but it had
to give her a little bit. She actually needed to
hear somebody say. And the way he said it was
very I don't be fine. This isn't the end of
the world, Like he mocked the very thought process that

America and democracy were in danger. You need more of that.
You need cooler heads to prevail and people to stop
looking for paychecks. Mar, And there's a responsibility. There are
people listening who you are firing up, and I think
you need to be conscious of them more often than not.

I say, it's just a nice tweet. So, I mean,
you know, at some point you have to have like God.
I mean, it's funny because it's just a New York beast.
And you know we've known we've all known him for
years and he was just a guy chasing women. But

in some sense, and again, putting things in perspective. You
were You've been around long enough to remember nineteen sixty eight,
every city in the United States was on fire. We

lost Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. We were losing
the greatest speakers we'd ever had, and we set every
city in the country and fire. We had the you know,
Vietnam War was raging, the tet offense of everything that
was going on at that time in our country. President
has to have basically resigned because he's because Walter Cronkite said,
you know that Vietnam's unwulnerable. We've been in much worse places. Actually,

the only thing that is different is the source of information,
and how much, how many different sources, it's the only
thing that's different. But it's not nearly as violent. Even
though it feels violent, it's not nearly as hopeless as
it was at that moment in time. So I will say,
and we've done this before. The mccarthier was very scary
for a lot of people. I will say that we'll
get through it. I'm disappointed in law firms, I'm disappointed

in colleges, but I will also say I didn't understand
in my naivete, I didn't understand how deeply tied law
firms and colleges were to government funding. Didn't understand it.
So now it makes sense. That doesn't make it's not
great profiles and courage, but I at least now I
know why.

That's great stuff. I think it's just a little taste
of George Coloney. It was him sitting down with Patty LuPone,
actors on Actors Broadway. They're both on Broadway right now,
and to hear him even say right there and say
it's where we get our information. You know, the fake
news battle cry has been embraced by both sides of

the aisle. It depends on when, but each side has decided, yeah,
there's a problem there. There he is two cents. He's
law firms and colleges and George Colooney himself a guy
in his six he's very successful, no matter how you
want to slice it, saying copping to naivete and saying

we've got way worse times, way scarier times, way more
violent times. And if you heard right at the outset there,
he's like he's in. I've known Trump for years, He's
a New York animal for years. He meant that complimentary too.
He said that with a big smile on his face.
And Trump takes his potshots at Colooney right now too,
but there's a little twinkle in his eye as well,

because you know, I don't know why. They definitely rolled
together in the nineties.
