Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sometimes I'm in a room where I don't be long,
and the houses on.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Arnistone and the walks and mountainto out. I've never been
the favorite Dona scene all till I got an invitation
to the Lunity Ball and my friends are coming to how.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Don't worry. It's all just.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
A sense a big hu broadcasting live. I used Radio
nine sixteen w l I and use Radio fourteen ten
W pop.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Passages some time.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Where random walks the mountainto.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Just a symptom.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
A being human. This is the Vinnie Penn project. We
should change that too. It's all just a symptom of
being Corey. I don't know. There might be legal ramifications.

(01:42):
I'm sure you gotta pay.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Then bands get upset that you're using their song, but
it would sound great for my man Matt Corey, who
is on with us right now after what three hours
of sleep?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah? Probably, yeah, I was.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I think you were.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
You were the first one that I saw, not only
posting that you were there, because then it just started
flooding in a lot of just friends, but you know,
people not even in politics, just supporters, you know, blue
collar folks that I know had made their way in
I have to ask you, though, Matt, as far as
Madison Square Garden last night, and before we get into

(02:21):
the race, as we get closer to their early voting
has already begun.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
You got the debate in a few nights and a
silly question too.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
But it feels to me like what happened last night
at Madison Square Garden to a degree, kind of came
out of nowhere, Like when I saw you post it.
I don't even know if I knew this was going
down until yesterday day.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
That was a pretty amazing event. I just you know,
there's a lot of people from Connecticut that wanted to
go down. I went down. I wanted to be part
of history. I took the nine thirty train home last
night and it was completely sold out. It was packed.
So Connecticut had a large contingency down there supporting the
president and supporting policies they're going to move this country forward.
It was just an amazing event, just a hopeful event.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, that's earlier than I saw too, the nine thirty
train not all that. But what was the time frame
of time frame about for the speaking Well, I was.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Nine thirty at night, yeah right, I'm talking about the trink. Yeah,
so I was listening. It was great. It was a
long event, I was I mean, I was in line
for three hours. I didn't get to see every speaker,
but the ones that I had seen, Elon Musk's and
doctor Phil.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
And doctor Phili Still.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, yeah, a message of hope, I mean optimism.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I just want to contrast that with you know, the
Democratic rallies. It's just a hateful rhetoric. H just nothing
to move the country forward. It's just always, uh, if
President Trump gets back in the office, the Country's going
to go to hell. I mean, I'm I mean, that's
that's the message I get on the other side, positive

(03:54):
that people are putting forward to to move this country forward.
And if you go to a Republican rally, you see
the plans and you see the optimism there that hey,
we want to bring this country back to greatness again.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Just be prepared then for today, Matt, for the coverage
that you're going to see of it. It's a head scratcher.
Most mainstream media outlets are calling it, you know, hours
of darkness, hours full of hate, misogyny, and racism. And
I'm just scratching my head because I was on the
phone with people last night, Like I said, you know

(04:30):
a gal I know lives in Jersey, she used to
call Connecticut home. She's nothing but positive. It was fantastic,
and yet today the scramble is on how do we
make it look like it was full of bad, evil,
hateful people that you're going to read takes on Madison
Square Garden and think to yourself, that's not the event

(04:51):
I was at.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah. I mean, if you think secure in our border,
supporting law enforcement, bring peace overseas, lowering taxes for everybody,
if that's a hateful speech, I just I don't know
what event they were watching, but yeah, that's what I
was watching.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, Now I just caught your I think it was
your latest ad too. I'm a big fan of ads
that the bulk of them are actually your opponent speaking,
and you're just kind of at the end of that
just say I'm Matt Corey and I support you know,

(05:32):
and I support this ad, And you really didn't say
anything on top of it. You just let Murphy kind
of bury himself. I don't know if it's been getting
to you, and you might not even like this, Matt,
but your race matters more to me than the presidential one,
believe it or not, as a Connecticut resident, as a
guy underwater, as a guy who dropped his daughter off

(05:55):
at Union Station in New Haven Saturday morning and was
immediately a cost by an aggressive, threatening vagabond, to the
point that my daughter was terrified. She was afraid to
leave me alone with this guy. I have such local concerns,
and I have so much invested in our local races.

(06:17):
I don't know if it's gotten to you how much
I'm I've been saying, the Corey Murphy race is the
one that matters the most to me.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Well, you're going to send out in Washington is somebody
that's going to be an obstructionist. You know, this is
exactly what he ran on when he first ran for
the United States Senate. He said to his opponent, we
don't need to send another obstructionist to Washington. Well, that's
exactly what he's going to be. In the polls are
looking good that President Trump will be your next president.
So do we need someone that's going to actually work

(06:47):
with them to lower your taxes, to support law enforcement,
to secure our border, to actually bring peace overseas If
you just look at his policies in the Middle East,
everything he wanted, Vinny, it came true. Taking the whod
He's off the terrorist organization watched list, We're leaving the
sanctions on Iran. I'm not backing the Prime Minister Benjaminett.

(07:08):
And yeah, who's spinning it and calling it. He's not
calling for a ceasefire because he wants to influence US elections.
I mean, this is how out of touch this man is.
He's very dangerous. He's in a short list for Secretary
of State. Just look at his policies on and whether
you're going to keep more money in your pocket or not.
A five trillion dollar tax increase, more taxes on your

(07:30):
income tax, your capital gains tax, your corporate tax rate's
going to go up, your unrealized gains taxes are going
to go up. I mean, this is what this is
the Democratic platform. You're not giving the government enough money,
you don't know how to spend your own money. We
can do it better for you. When they ask Kamala Harris,

(07:51):
would you have done anything different than the previous administration
under Joe Biden, that nothing comes to mind. So a
contentuation of another four years and you have Senator Murphy
fawning over Kamala Harris's policies and he backs them.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Now you debate him Wednesday night, Correct.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Wednesday night at seven pm live hat tip at Dennis
House Leaves. We got a debate nine days into early voting.
We'll be bringing that question of what is it, Senator
that you usually debates happen before voting starts. Why nine
days in you're sitting at nine million dollars and you
needed nine days? Just amazing. Obviously you're not proud of

(08:34):
the policies you pass in Washington.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Are you worried at all in the sense that hopefully
there's confidence houses very good at what he does. But
Murphy is the self proclaimed king of the filibuster? Are
you worried at all of just not being able to
get a word in edge wise because he's a cocky,
insufferable filibusterer.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Look, I'm looking forward to one on three, So let's
let's make it happen. You know, I'm actually doing what
the media should be doing right now, Ben asking the
tough questions on policy. Why isn't the Connecticut media asking
him on his failed foreign policy? Why isn't the Connecticut
media asking him the tough questions on the open borders
and the crimes he is alluded to that is down.

(09:24):
When you have somebody just got a carjacking in Connecticut
while I was down in New York with guns. Yeah,
Venezuela and gang has entered now Stanford, Connecticut. How there's
been fourteen capital murders of fourteen murders in our capital city.
Crime is down? I mean, why isn't Why aren't they

(09:45):
asking the tough questions? Don't forget he's on the he's
on the working families line, the working families line in Connecticut.
Wants to defund the police. So he took the endorsement
of defunding the police. And he's already said he wanted
to do that. He already wants to re move school
resource officers, officers that keep your children safe in our
communities safe. So why aren't they asking the tough questions?

(10:08):
So it takes me as a candidate to do that,
and I will do that during the debate.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
I know you will. And again, wrong with Matt Corey.
The debate is this Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
N The reason I say that the filibuster and him,
he's not going to shut up about Sunday Night.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
He's posting like crat. He was so rattled last night, Matt.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I don't know if you took a look at his Twitter.
His Twitter is very indicative of he plays it cool,
but he's rattled. It was just NonStop posting and taking
things out of context. He's the king of out of contexts.
So I feel like Wednesday night, you're going to He's
not going to be And I might be wrong about this,

(10:46):
but I feel like I've really got a good handle
ont Murphy, which is why I really want him going.
His time is up as far as I'm concerned, But
I don't think he's going to regard you as Hey,
that's Matt Corey across from me, and I'm going to
hit Matt Cory with things about Mac Corry. I think
he's going to be like, Hey, that's Trump across from me.

(11:06):
So I'm not going to shut up about what I
heard Sunday night. And you're gonna you're going to constantly
have to answer for Trump, and it's gonna behoove you
to be like you're talking to Hey, this is Mac,
I'm not Donald Trump.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I'm Mat Corey. Ask me a question, not Donald Trump.
I'm not speaking for Trump.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Do you follow me, Yes, Listen. He's got complete disdain
for people like myself. He thinks he's above it. He
takes the voters in Connecticut for grantedies down in Pennsylvania
helping other people. So I'm here to give you. I'm
here to give people of voice. I'm here to give
the working class and the hard working people of voice
of Connecticut. Whether you vote for me or not, and

(11:47):
I'm hoping you do, I will give you that voice. Listen.
I didn't make it in there in time to listened
to the to the comedian that was in there. But
let's just take a look at Puerto Rico. Look, there's
some hardworking people down there. There's a lot of corruption
in that government down there. Look what happened. Let's just
go back to nineteen ninety six under under President Bill Clinton,

(12:08):
when he removed the tax the taxes that they had
down there where it was you know, if you're a manufacturer,
there was no taxes or almost zero taxes that have
your company there. Once they took that restriction off, all
those companies left. So this is what tells you it's
the same thing that's happening here in Connecticut. When you
raise taxes on corporations. When you raise taxes, they leave.

(12:30):
And that's exactly what happened to Puerto Rico, destroyed their economy.
Most of the younger kids fled because there was no hope.
And so what do you have. You have the elderly
population there and it's government funded. It's just it's a
shame to what happened to Puerto Rico. If you reinstate
those lower taxes, whether it's in Connecticut or Puerto Rico,
you will have a thriving economy. This is exactly the

(12:52):
proof of democratic policies failing, not only the great people
of Puerto Rico, but the great citizens of the state
to Connecticut.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Yeah, and you're exactly right. It was a stand up
comedian who I guess he was one of the first
ones on He referred to Puerto Rico as a floating
island of garbage. I mean, where he's born and raised.
He's trying to do the comedian thing. Now, the headline
today is that that was said, and it's structured in

(13:23):
a way so as does Trump said this, and it's
like somebody from Puerto Rico made that crack who's actually
probably heartbroken that that's the case that the state of
where he was born and raised the state that it's in.
But it's going to be attributed to Trump. Trump signed
off on it. Who knows. Trump might have even reiterated it,

(13:43):
because that's what he does. But this came out of
the mouth of a Puerto Rican stand up comedian, and
the media is going to scramble to say that that
was a Trump statement. This is the hate coming from
the Trump rally.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
That's the game.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
I wasn't in. I wasn't in the stadium at the time,
and I don't I don't believe he got much applause
for that list. These are these are These are comedy
comedians that bent times fail on the stump. If that
is all they got out of that rally, and that's
they just look for things to go negative and just
paint everybody in there as a as a hateful person.
I didn't, I didn't, I mean I STI would in

(14:21):
line for three hours. I met people from all over
the country, from Florida, leaving their homes in Florida, Sarasota,
Florida CS the keys they're still rebuilding just to come
up to Madison Square Garden. People from Washington d C,
people from Chicago, they were all over. There was no problems.
Might have been a little rough getting in because it's
such a tight place to get into, Madison Square Garden

(14:42):
with all the traffic and the sidewalks, but once people
got in there, there was nothing but love and love
for country. So that that's what I left with. And
I can tell you on the train ride home, people
are as tired as they were. They were excited for
this country. They were excited for a president and to
build back this punch you better than it ever was.
And that's what I got out there, mister Penn.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Yeah, no, I love it.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
What What do you think should be the number one topic? Uh,
as far as Wednesday night is concerned, when you when
you finally square off with Murphy early voting notwithstanding, what
would you like?

Speaker 3 (15:17):
I believe there's three. I mean one, one is affordability, Yeah,
I agree, people are just suffering out there. Second, yeah,
I mean that that would be my top, my top topic.
I mean there's three things we need to hit him
on and called him account of before the open border
policies that's affecting every community, just billions of billions of

(15:38):
dollars housing people and you know bringing in crime and
Venezuelan and gangs is you know, it's affordability and making
your community safeer. That's build it in one and two things.
And obviously we see what's happening overseas, whether it's in Ukraine, Russia, Assyria, Iraq, Iran.
You look at Israel, the people are suffering. We still

(15:58):
have American hospices, not forget and yes, I'll remind the
Vice President who's running for president. We do have brave
men and women in harm's way around the world all
the time protecting our values, especially in the Red Sea,
where Senator Murphy took to who he's off the Terrorist
Organization Watch lists the largest naval engagement we've had since

(16:20):
World War Two.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Yeah, I agree with everything you think should be front
and center. I'm wondering if you before I let you go,
because I know you've had a hell of a night.
I was, like I said, I was watching your social
media feed last night, and you tipped me off on
something else too, And that was that carjacking and Bridgeport
with the two black males with machine guns who carjacked

(16:43):
you know, somebody in a blue porch any resolution there
and he only seems to speak out Murphy on guns
when it fits a certain inner city violence, machine guns
and carjackings on That's not what I'm talking about.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I'm talking about schools in affluent suburbs. That's what I
care about. He picks and chooses.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
When he cares absolutely, and look when he was running
for Congress, he says, there's no laws that are going
to help reduce gun crime unless you give people hope
and opportunity. There's something I can agree around, Cenator. But
you've spun enough to raise millions and millions and millions
of dollars on tragedies that happened not only in the

(17:26):
state of Connecticut but around the country, and we've called
them out on it many times. Raising money on gun tragedies.
I mean, if somebody could tell me where a guy
could raise nine to ten to twelve million dollars and
what policies that are bettering this country or bettering the
constituents of the state of Connecticut, other than tragedies that
are happening around the country, Please tell me.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Yeah, and around the state, and in particular Matt Corey.
I appreciate you calling in this morning. Get some sleep, oh,
you got a hell of a week ahead of you.
The project is behind you one hundred percent. I hope
that's been reaching you and let's get in one more
you know, chat before next Tuesday too.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
That's an absolute hourn. Please if you want to help
us keep our ads and radio up on your Coreyfsenate

up on social media. You can check it out at
ninety sixty wali dot com. The full interview twenty minutes.
I've been chatting with my man NewsRadio fourteen ten dot
com as well. And as far as that armed carjacking

(18:29):
and Bridgeport last night, two guys with machine guns. It's amazing.
If you if you go to CT police Live, that's
the handle on x and just scroll.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
I really do.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
I'm taking credit for this.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
If you scroll through the thread, there's just a litany
of people writing but crime is down, but crime is nonexistent,
just mocking the battle cry of the Chris Murphy especially
the way he delivers it fifty years low.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
It isn't. It's just it's not. It's a lie. I
was almost going to go with misleading right there, but
it's not. It's a boldfaced lie.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
We're living in an era where you're better off dry.
Don't buy your dream car. You're just asking for trouble.
Is that what you want to vote for on Tuesday
