know each other. We went tohigh school together, went to college together,
best friends, Okay, and thenand then, how do you know

Annie, the person that you wereHow do you know Lexi? The person
you were doing the wish for today? So I actually went to high school
with her, but we really didn'tbecome really good friends until we went to
college together at Saint Cloud. Sothat's really where our friendship started to sparkle
and blossom. And now we're bestfriend since like eleven years. That's very
cool. And so now you andTyler, you've been listening to KWB for
a while and you've heard Christmas Wishand most of the time you're growing up

and you're young, you're like,what twenty two, I'm twenty nine?
Are you twenty nine? You're Asianwealth, And so you grew up hearing
Christmas wish and you never even thoughtI might know somebody, And now this
year, Lexi popp into your mindright away, instantly, okay, And
so you got together with Tyler andyou said, well, I asked him
help for the list of things thatthey possibly would want or need. Okay.

guys became better friends in college.So we actually knew each other in high

yeah, college mutual friends just gotus hanging out a little longer and better.
Yeah, then we just became bestfriends. And yeah, no ever
history. And you guys went toSaint Clouege, you said, yep,
we went to ICSU and then weboth graduated. And then I ended up
moving in with her husband and herfor a little while too, so they

lived a lifetime with them almost nowat this point already, Yep, that's

minute to talk to you? Uh? Sure? Do you have any idea

why I might be calling Lexi?It's not a new car. It is
not a new car. You wantto just chat. I'm a little lonely,
and I'm actually I'm here hanging outwith a couple of people that you
may have heard of before. Annieand Tyler say, good morning Annie and

Tyler, Good morning Lexi, Goodmorning Lexi. Well, good morning.
Kind of surprise, you know,you wake up and it's eight o'clock in
the morning, and you go,what is somebody calling? But what is
Katie? Would you be calling for? We do something every year and maybe
you've heard of it, and noteverybody has, and that's okay. It's
called Christmas Wish where we ask peoplewho listen to our show this time of

the year say, hey, ifyou know anybody who's had a tough years
face challenges of whatever kind, letus know and we'll do our best to
make your wish for them become areality. So Annie and Tyler wrote in
and if you got a minute,Lexi, I think Annie is going to
read the letter that she wrote abouther Christmas wish. Okay, okay,

can I with my husband? Yeah, we'll go in with your husband.
What's your husband's name? What's hisname? Will? Will? Okay?
Is Will still sleeping? Yes?Okay, gotcha? Yea. If you
want to wake up Will, thatis totally fine. He can put us
on speaker if you want to,and we will get to your Christmas wish
here in a second. I'll belike, what's happening? Why awakening up

right now? You know? Isleep in? Good morning, Will?
He's comment, Okay, gotcha.We've never had this happen before where somebody
said, hey, let me gowake up my partner and see what.
But you still you used to livewith and Lexi? Okay, they were
nice enough to let me share theirhouse with them. Okays, are there

rules like they had to be homeby midnight? She was always just like,
make sure you know that you're home. So if I locked the door,
you're not locked? Yeah? DidLexi? Did Will make it to
the phone yet? Okay? IWill? You just woke up Will?

(05:33):
It's okay, we have a lotof patience for that. But what's going
to happen is Annie, and Annieis going to read a letter on Katie
w B. We're on the radioright now about her Christmas wish. So
Annie, whenever you are ready,Okay. I nominated my best friend Lexi
and her family. Lexi has beena fighter her whole life. She has
overcome many medical challenges, being diagnosedwith diabetes at a young age. At

(06:00):
the beginning of the year, Lexiand wol were overjoyed with exciting news that
they were expecting. During her routinedoctor's appointments, there were some concerns for
Lexi's health to which they had todig further. They unfortunately got some heavy
news that at just twenty nine,Lexi was diagnosed with MS and one night,
Lexi's left side went num to wherethey thought what she thought was a
low blood sugar it turned into atrip to the r They were a discovered

(06:24):
er. There they discovered Lexia developedpreeclampsia. Fast forward to July thirty first,
Lexi and will welcome their strong littlemiracle, Lily, was born at
twenty four weeks and a one pointthree pounds. Lexi was released a few
weeks later, knowing their little warriorwas still in the hospital with a long
journey ahead. During the next fewmonths, Lexi had to learn how to

juggle her new diagnosis, her owndoctor's appointments, being a new mom,
and making visits to see Lily everychance she gets. Meanwhile, Will has
been the backbone for both those girlsand has given all of his love is
import to make their needs art,to make sure their needs are taken care
of. Unfortunately, during this roughtime, Will had to go back to
work. While juggling being a newdad and visiting Lily at the hospital and

(07:09):
work and being a great husband,It's been difficult for Lexian Will to be
alone, to get alone time becauseWill works night sides. Lily is still
in the hospital, growing so bigand almost six pounds now, and we
just hope for a Christmas miracle towelcome Lily home for her first Christmas.
Lexian Will have fought so hard andhave been so strong this year, and
they deserve to know how much loveand support they have. I hope this

(07:31):
will give them a little light atthe end of the tunnel for the year
that they've had. I love you, guys, so much, Love you,
love you. Lily is now sixpounds and she was a little one
one point three or one pound threeounces. Yeah, when she was born.

(07:53):
That's a little one. But she'sdoing well, I hope. Yeah.
Yeah, okay, K, she'sdoing really well. Just trying to
learn that eating eating by mouth.Oh my gosh. Well, congratulations on
your little girl, Lily. Thatis so sweet. I think it's one
of those things where you know,you went in for an exam and whatever,

(08:16):
and you thought everything was fine,but then all of a sudden,
the diagnosis of MS and that ontop of having a baby. My gosh.
Yeah, I mean, Lexi,how did you? How did you
and Will respond to that diagnosis?Well, it was really hard, but

(08:39):
I was pregnant and I opted outof treatment for second trimester, didn't really
make it to my third but soI kind of was able to put it
on the back burnt for a whileand then I actually just started treatment last
month. But it was it stillis a hard journey still learning. Yeah,

(09:07):
well, in the journey of becomingnew parents, and then there's a
whole other challenge. So you've gotthis incredible excitement of becoming new parents and
also the the anxiety of the healthproblems of having a one pound three ounce
baby and the challenges. I'm glad, I'm so glad she's doing so well.

(09:28):
And then the MS and a newmom and when do they think have
they said when little Lily might beable to come home? They have not.
I don't think they want to giveus for sure date. It's kind
of all at Lily's pace right now. So she's been she has been eating

(09:50):
Bye milk, but she hasn't she'snot up to the volume she needs to
come home yet. So and she'sabout four and a half just almost exactly
four and a half months. Yeah, yeah, okay, so how many
weeks is that? Four times?For sixteen eighteen? Okayour wow? Well,

(10:13):
you know what, I'm so happythat she's doing well. I know
you are, and I hope thatyou get to have Lily home soon.
And I know you've got a lotof challenges to face when she gets home
and for you know, for theforeseeable future. And Will, how has
Will been through the whole thing.I've been doing my best, and it's

(10:37):
going to be challenging for Will too, because you know, Will was,
you know, holping like new dadand doing all the things and bringing baby
home and putting them in a littleBounty chair and changing diapers will where you're
looking forward to changing diapers at all? Okay, well, we with Christmas
Wish, we want to find it'sgreat to find little families like yours who

(11:00):
are facing some challenges and there arecertain things that we can do to make
those challenges just a little bit morebearable. And that's where Christmas Wish comes
in. So people here at KATIBB, along with some of our partners,
want to do some things for yourfamily for a couple of reasons. Number
one, to help make everything easier, but also to let you know there's

a lot of love and support notonly from Annie and Tyler and people hear
at katy WB, but people thatyou'll never meet who are listening right now,

let's start off with Lily. Lilyis about four or five months old,
so here are some things that youwill need when she is coming home.

Onesi's from Gerber We're going to startoff really easy with that. We're going
to do Carter's baby socks and shoesand Carter's brand baby clothes when you put
the baby in the car seat andthey're facing backwards. You know, you
have to have a mirror so youcan see their face. We took care
of the mirror. It's something alot of mom and dads forget. It's
like, oh, yeah, wecan't see the baby's face. We got

the face of the mirror for you. We've got the greatco infant car seat.
If you've already got a car seat, and I'm gonna guess you'll probably
do. Now you've got two soyou can have one in Will's car and
one in any other car and Lexicar, and then for you and the
family. There's just a bunch ofthings. Do you guys have dogs?
Do I understand you have dogs?Yeah, we have two. What are

the dog's names, Tucker and Kitten. Tucker and Caine. I said,
Kitten, okay, Tucker and Kane. We've got cang dog toys to occupy
them. That's where they put thetreat inside and they go crazy trying to
find it. We've got a baseballjersey for Will. Ice fishing is that

(12:48):
kind of your thing? Will?We got some ice fishing gear, including
an augur if you don't have andnow if you got an augur, now
you've got two of them we gotfor you, Lexi. We got a
foot massager which we checked out.It's really cool. It's awesome Sigma Beauty

little bit, oh, I don'tknow, a little bit more, have

I think the thing that we alsowant to let you know is that you
have the support and love of somany people. And I know that Annie
and Tyler are very happy that youare receiving this and know how much you're
