series season sucked except finally episode four called Eulogy.

host Jenny's Fit Club. I do it about once a month,
and basically it's just the fitness class we take at flight.
There's two locations, either go to Saint Louis Park or Woodberry,
kind of hitting both sides of the Twin City switch

off every month. But I host this fitness class, and well,
I don't host it. I attend it and I sweat
my ass off, but you can come hang out and
work out with me, and it's free and it's coming

do that, or you can go to level twenty. It's

He's been in town for about two years, and about
a year or so ago, girlfriend Alyssa moves from Jersey
and you live together an apartment in beautiful downtown Robbinsdale.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Indeed, And what's the latest. Oh, everything's going good. I
mentioned last week. I don't know if you heard. Were
signed up to be foster's for dogs, which is nice.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
That is so cool.

Speaker 8 (12:15):
Yeah, just to like ease our way into possibly becoming
dog owners one day. But so we have a couple
of trips coming up, just because it's starting to get nice.
So we're like gonna go home, and she has like
a family wedding and it's like her dad's side, and
we've talked about her dad before he came into town.

He's cool. But I just feel like and I feel like.

Speaker 8 (12:31):
It's a normal thing for like the son or I
guess the boyfriend me to not feel like he's breaking
a mold with.

The future father in law.

And I don't feel like he doesn't like me, but
I feel like it's kind of just like, oh, and
Vant's there, which kind of which bothers me, not kind of.
It really bothers me because I do see a future
with Alissa. I do eventually want to get married, and
Alissa is so close with my family. She like my
two sisters call her and text her for for things
because they're younger. Sometimes I be like, who you text
and she's like, oh, your step mom, and I'm just like, oh, okay.

But Alyssa also has two sisters. One of them it's
like a high and by type deal. And again it's
not like a, oh, we don't like Vont, but it's
just like we'll say hi when we see him and
just keep it pushing.

And I feel the same.

I feel that way about her one of her sisters
and her dad, and I don't know what to do
to break the mold, to break the ice.

Does Alyssa have any input on this, because I know
you've talked to Alyssa like why does your dad treat
me like I'm not there?

At first she didn't see it, which is I understood.
She was like, no, they like you.

It's fine because like I'm me and her mom text
the same way like her and my mom do whatever.
So you get along well with mom, yes, her mom
and her sister, but her dad and her other sister,
it's just like, hey, Vont, how are you okay? Let's
just keep moving. So I at first I said something
to Alyssa about it. She was like, no, it's fine,
and then I think at some point I didn't break down,
but I was like, listen, like I need you to

hear me what I'm telling you. I don't feel like
we are connecting, and she's like, I understand, and you
know you can't force those things, and you know time
will come, and all that matters is that you know
you and I are doing well and that is what's important.

I don't want her dad to be at our wedding
and be like give a speech all about how he
loves his daughter and then just be like like take
my daughter, yeah, because that bothers me because family's important
to us obviously, and she's important to me.

So do you have like a plan for what you
want to do to like become closer to them, or we're.

Gonna go home this weekend' it's it's just the weekend,
so I'll see them some of her family and then
We're going to Mexico for a wedding with her dad
in their side of the family. So like, I hope
that I have some time to like connect and you know,
talk to him, and like last time he was here,
I think I picked him up from the airport just
to give us some like one on one time, which
sounds corny, but so I could bond.

But I also feel like me.

Being the person I am, I'm gonna be like so
uh uh nice weather huh, just like it's gonna seem forceful.

I think you guys didn't bond more after he was
here last and we talked about him consistently on the
show because he's really hot and Bailey wants to date
him him. I didn't feel like there was a little
bit of more of a bond after.

That, a little bit, but like I think, I'm just
comparing it to what she has with my family, which
compareson as the defa joy. So I shouldn't do that,
but it's just it's where I am in life.

I think that maybe like some dads that got a
couple of things to say, because Susan's dad liked me,
but he was never like, ah, Dave, come on in,
slap me on the back and pop open a beer.
It was just nice.

He liked me.

But I think that a lot of daughters are the
dads are just protective of their daughters and just kind
of like kind of keep shit arm's length a little bit.
If if my daughter alisonder Beth was dating the guy
that wore as much cologne as you do, I would
probably be a little suspicious.

But one of my son, but one of Alissa's sisters,
the other one that I'm struggling to connect with. She's
been with her now husband since they were like fourteen
and now they're like thirty. And that boyfriend and the
dad they go out to the beach together and they
smoke cigars and stuff.

So well, I'm comparing, and I shouldn't because.

Sixteen years they've been together. You've been with Alissa for
like two three.

Like I'm admitting that I'm comparing, but it just I
feel like I'm not going to hit that breakthrough.

Because you know, and I think that's okay because some
people like, uh, I don't know. It's kind of like siblings,
like I really hit it off with certain ones my
siblings and other ones are like small talk, and that's
just kind of how it is.

I think maybe that he just really hits it off
with this other one, and you're looking at it, going,

the dad holds a little resentment because she moved away.

was his baby girl first and always will be, and

I could kind of see that because Alyssa is his youngest,

my daughters are grown and they're out the house and

he just doesn't know how to express his feelings or

people are just introverts and don't seek out conversations. Sometimes

I always call the father of the man the woman

have no respect for me or anybody else. So sometimes

don't like that. And most of the time I'll say
hey mom to Alyssa's mom. But I also thought just
saying Charlie, I thought that was disrespectful.

other guy's closer to dad's age, it's easier for him

for fifteen and I'm still not close with my mother
