give him ale beer. It's just one.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
No ale is the same as beer, is it? Yes?
Speaker 5 (02:34):

Oh gosh, h duncan ruse uh.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Uh wow, I'm doing terrible doodles. Okay, chips and lays both, y, Okay,
go ahead. Dippin' dots are not a road trip snack
because they don't sell don't sell them at the gas station.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yes they do.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
They We literally just talked about We've been talking about
those freezer things the last couple of days, and they
have the dippin' dots in those wrongo.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
Are you sure?
Speaker 5 (03:55):
I am nearly sure to.
Speaker 6 (03:56):
Call holiday station stores and see if they have them,
because I'm.
Speaker 7 (03:58):
Pretty sure, I do.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
They do have French showst sandwiches. You should go try
those out if you sounds delicious.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, but I don't think they sell dipping dots in
the freezer case. Okay, all right, well anybody's.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
Texas and if you know, let us know. Okay, But
your next category is alcohol.
Speaker 8 (04:14):
Go any alcohol titos? Do you wo to get specific?
I guess rum, vodka, tequila, beer, whiskey, boom a selter.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I don't know, geez, I'm doing terrible today.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
Just Dave, you don't know how many you've gotten.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I know I got more than him.
Speaker 7 (04:39):
On that category. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
Actually you said whiskey and Irish whiskey. Those are the same.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
You said not Irish whiskey and are not the same.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
But I don't care, Okay, okay, last category.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
R fingers crossed.
Speaker 7 (04:53):
Cities in Minnesota go.
Speaker 8 (04:56):
Eating Prairie Dina Egan, Minneapolis, Minnetonka, any haha, Robbinsdale, Crystal,
Saint Louis par.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Uh, New Hope and Minie haha. Not a city.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
It's not a city's okay? He was, I mean, he was.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
I don't like that.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
You just like on me today. You would fight who me.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, you literally you every day, Vaughance.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
So don't even start taste your own medicine here.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Justice for Vance. This is bullying.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
I want a dollar every time that kid says justice
for Vant, I have.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
A shirt I get to say it. Shout out on
the way.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Somebody texted and said beer and ale are not the
same thing. They're brewed through different processes. They use different
kinds of yeast.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Okay, were the text messages that we're getting now.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
To another one says they do sell dipping dots in
a gas station.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
Okay, I said, I'm gonna give that one to him.
Speaker 6 (05:49):
It's fine, Okay, Billy, I might need your help because
I'm not entirely sure if I have the accurate ones Dave.
But so for road trip snacks, I got eleven. I
got eleven, okay, and Vance six? Yes, okay, So okay
alcohol Dave had, Well, now I don't know what to
give him because of the Ale thing.
Speaker 7 (06:11):
So is he at eight?
Speaker 4 (06:12):
But in my brain, Dave didn't know beer and ale
are different.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
So seven for day I have seven, okay, seven for Dave.
I had seven for Vaughnt. I also had seven.
Speaker 7 (06:22):
That's the tie.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Okay, okay, take it.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
And the last one was Cities in Minnesota. Dave had thirteen,
Font had nine.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
When I said that, I felt kind of bad because
I was like, gosh, you're so kind of a transplant
and Dave's lived here forever.
Speaker 7 (06:40):
So congrats Dave. You went face off today.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Okay, Yeah, thanks our sponsor appreciate that. Also, we got
a little text message from the people who brought by
the cheese package from Crystal Farms, because vont has never
had a grilled cheese, so Crystal Farms, thanks for listening.
They sent by a little basket of cheese and bread
to make grilled cheese. So shout out Crystal Farm.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Thank you guys. I'm making it after the show for sure.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
So many people that listen to the show, it's amazing.
We talked about Eric the bike Man the other day
and Eric was listening to He called the show life cycle.
Shout out. Thank you very much. Let's do this right now.
Get a keyword for you to use to win your
Kendrick and Sissy tickets right now. The keyword is very important.
You don't text it in. Don't text it in. You've
got to open up that iHeartRadio app open it up,
(07:25):
listen for a little while, listen as long as you want. Heck,
turn it on, leave it there all day. It's good karma,
it's good for you. Just open up the iHeartRadio app
and leave it play in all day. Saturn is the keyword.
So you open up the app, tap that red microphone
up a right hand corner. It's like a red and
white microphone button, and you say the keyword is Saturn,
(07:47):
and that's really all you need to say. Mid So
go do that now, and you are in for Kendrick
and Sissy. You're never more than thirty minutes away. When
we come back. I think we're going to talk about
is this either Vaughn's got a big thing going on
in his life.
Speaker 7 (08:02):
Yeah, we're gonna talk about what's going on with that big.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Thing going on in Vaughn's life? Coming up next on
kd WB. Stay right for w B. You are never
more than thirty minutes away from Kendrick and siss of
tickets have seppends all this week because the show has
come out upon Saturday night. So you're either gonna go
to the show or you're gonna stay home and go like, well,
what's on Netflix? That doesn't look good. I just really
quick say, Black Mirror new season yea sucks bad. I
(08:28):
don't know why except the best new episode. I'm four
episodes in, it's called Eulogy. That's the first good one
in the new Black Mirror series. Does anybody else agree
with me? I know, you guess don't watch it. But
if you listen to the show and you're watching Black Mirror,
it's so good. But all the episodes in the new
series season sucked except finally episode four called Eulogy.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Are they all standalone?
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Or they stand alone?
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Okay, completely stand alone. It's just like New Twilight.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
It's like Twilight Zone a lot, but it's all it's
based on the idea of black or is your phone
or your computer screen because it's a black maror so
it's all technology based as some of our There's a
couple that were.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Just I just heard of, Like in the first season,
there was one that was like truly terrifying, and so
it's there were a lot that were truly terrifying, really
were That's what kind of turned me off of it.
But I want to watch it. I wanted to watch it.
I'm just too scared.
Speaker 8 (09:21):
I gotcha you got a week until the new season
that you comes out next Friday.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
Yeah, I was thinking that was coming out soon and
I didn't know what. Oh my gosh, I know what
I'm doing. It doesn't come out like next Thursday, April,
next Thursday. Don't talk to me next weekend. That's all
I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
But that one you have to you do have to watch.
You really kind of got to watch the previous seasons,
right do you?
Speaker 6 (09:42):
And also I think that this is you know, now
that I think about it, I think they're doing episode
drops for the season where it's like four episodes or whatever.
But coming up this Saturday, I'm doing something fun. I
host Jenny's Fit Club. I do it about once a month,
and basically it's just the fitness class we take at flight.
There's two locations, either go to Saint Louis Park or Woodberry,
kind of hitting both sides of the Twin City switch
(10:02):
off every month. But I host this fitness class, and well,
I don't host it. I attend it and I sweat
my ass off, but you can come hang out and
work out with me, and it's free and it's coming
up this Saturday. I've had a few people drop out
that have signed up already for this one. So if
you're interested, you can go to Dave Ryanshow dot com
and click on the Jenny tab. There's a link right
(10:23):
there and you can get signed up and we'll try
to get you in for this Saturday.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Question.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Do I have to be like an expert fit person
to come to do this?
Speaker 6 (10:30):
No, it's all up to your own personal I guess decisility, Yeah, ability,
however much you want to do. You could literally not
even lift to weight whatsoever. You could just do the
motion on the ground. But it's also it includes the
stare Master and if you want to go at level
one on the StairMaster the entire time, you can also
do that, or you can go to level twenty. It's
whatever your heart desires, So it's.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Up to you.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
That's cool for you to do that. So Jenny is
going to have you out to flight for Jenny's Fit Club.
What time on Saturday?
Speaker 6 (10:56):
So it's eleven and we're doing the Woodbury location this month.
How long it takes side the class is fifty minutes, Okay,
that's perfect.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, it's not too long, but not too short. Yeact,
I don't like him to be too long.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Yeah. Yeah, then you're.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Watching the clock going, oh god, star.
Speaker 6 (11:11):
There's no clock, so you're not tempted to even look
at it.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah, my Apple Watch on, don't worry about it. I've
done it. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
When you do your Apple Watch and you're recording your workout,
are you able to still see the time?
Speaker 7 (11:22):
Because I can't do that on my fitbit.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (11:24):
My mine's also really old and it's got a crack screen.
Speaker 8 (11:26):
So maybe that's the thing is it looks like tree
branch is just like growing out.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
Anytime I post like anything on my Instagram of being like,
oh I got a good workout and people are like,
did you get a good workout because you crack your screen?
I was like, nah, it's just been like that a watch.
I'm not rich. I can't do that.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
You use one?
Speaker 7 (11:43):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Maybe okay, but don't you have to pay a monthly
subscription for it?
Speaker 9 (11:46):
Rude?
Speaker 5 (11:47):
No you did?
Speaker 7 (11:48):
Oh maybe I'll look into that though.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Okay, well, okay, Vaunt a little update on your life.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Vont is.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
He's been in town for about two years, and about
a year or so ago, girlfriend Alyssa moves from Jersey
and you live together an apartment in beautiful downtown Robbinsdale.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Indeed, And what's the latest. Oh, everything's going good. I
mentioned last week. I don't know if you heard. Were
signed up to be foster's for dogs, which is nice.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
That is so cool.
Speaker 8 (12:15):
Yeah, just to like ease our way into possibly becoming
dog owners one day. But so we have a couple
of trips coming up, just because it's starting to get nice.
So we're like gonna go home, and she has like
a family wedding and it's like her dad's side, and
we've talked about her dad before he came into town.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
He's cool. But I just feel like and I feel like.
Speaker 8 (12:31):
It's a normal thing for like the son or I
guess the boyfriend me to not feel like he's breaking
a mold with.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
The future father in law.
Speaker 8 (12:40):
And I don't feel like he doesn't like me, but
I feel like it's kind of just like, oh, and
Vant's there, which kind of which bothers me, not kind of.
It really bothers me because I do see a future
with Alissa. I do eventually want to get married, and
Alissa is so close with my family. She like my
two sisters call her and text her for for things
because they're younger. Sometimes I be like, who you text
and she's like, oh, your step mom, and I'm just like, oh, okay.
(13:03):
But Alyssa also has two sisters. One of them it's
like a high and by type deal. And again it's
not like a, oh, we don't like Vont, but it's
just like we'll say hi when we see him and
just keep it pushing.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
And I feel the same.
Speaker 8 (13:14):
I feel that way about her one of her sisters
and her dad, and I don't know what to do
to break the mold, to break the ice.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
I don't know, Well, you're a likable person.
Speaker 7 (13:26):
I know.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Does Alyssa have any input on this, because I know
you've talked to Alyssa like why does your dad treat
me like I'm not there?
Speaker 3 (13:33):
At first she didn't see it, which is I understood.
She was like, no, they like you.
Speaker 8 (13:37):
It's fine because like I'm me and her mom text
the same way like her and my mom do whatever.
So you get along well with mom, yes, her mom
and her sister, but her dad and her other sister,
it's just like, hey, Vont, how are you okay? Let's
just keep moving. So I at first I said something
to Alyssa about it. She was like, no, it's fine,
and then I think at some point I didn't break down,
but I was like, listen, like I need you to
(13:57):
hear me what I'm telling you. I don't feel like
we are connecting, and she's like, I understand, and you
know you can't force those things, and you know time
will come, and all that matters is that you know
you and I are doing well and that is what's important.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
But I tell you want to feel welcome.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
I don't want her dad to be at our wedding
and be like give a speech all about how he
loves his daughter and then just be like like take
my daughter, yeah, because that bothers me because family's important
to us obviously, and she's important to me.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
So do you have like a plan for what you
want to do to like become closer to them, or we're.
Speaker 8 (14:33):
Gonna go home this weekend' it's it's just the weekend,
so I'll see them some of her family and then
We're going to Mexico for a wedding with her dad
in their side of the family. So like, I hope
that I have some time to like connect and you know,
talk to him, and like last time he was here,
I think I picked him up from the airport just
to give us some like one on one time, which
sounds corny, but so I could bond.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
But I also feel like me.
Speaker 8 (14:54):
Being the person I am, I'm gonna be like so
uh uh nice weather huh, just like it's gonna seem forceful.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
I think you guys didn't bond more after he was
here last and we talked about him consistently on the
show because he's really hot and Bailey wants to date
him him. I didn't feel like there was a little
bit of more of a bond after.
Speaker 8 (15:12):
That, a little bit, but like I think, I'm just
comparing it to what she has with my family, which
compareson as the defa joy. So I shouldn't do that,
but it's just it's where I am in life.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I think that maybe like some dads that got a
couple of things to say, because Susan's dad liked me,
but he was never like, ah, Dave, come on in,
slap me on the back and pop open a beer.
It was just nice.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
He liked me.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
But I think that a lot of daughters are the
dads are just protective of their daughters and just kind
of like kind of keep shit arm's length a little bit.
If if my daughter alisonder Beth was dating the guy
that wore as much cologne as you do, I would
probably be a little suspicious.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
That's why the social distance is from me. Stay six feet.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
I wouldn't wait.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
And some people are just that way and you'll just
never win them over, you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
Yeah, it doesn't mean he doesn't like you.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
He's just never going to be like, hey, buddy, let's
sit down and talk and have a beer.
Speaker 8 (16:07):
But one of my son, but one of Alissa's sisters,
the other one that I'm struggling to connect with. She's
been with her now husband since they were like fourteen
and now they're like thirty. And that boyfriend and the
dad they go out to the beach together and they
smoke cigars and stuff.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
So well, I'm comparing, and I shouldn't because.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Sixteen years they've been together. You've been with Alissa for
like two three.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Yeah. Again, I'm struck.
Speaker 8 (16:30):
Like I'm admitting that I'm comparing, but it just I
feel like I'm not going to hit that breakthrough.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Because you know, and I think that's okay because some
people like, uh, I don't know. It's kind of like siblings,
like I really hit it off with certain ones my
siblings and other ones are like small talk, and that's
just kind of how it is.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
It doesn't mean that anybody's wrong.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I think maybe that he just really hits it off
with this other one, and you're looking at it, going,
I want to have a cigar with with you know, Charlie,
with Charlie too.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
I don't know what he We.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Have some text messages. This one says, I wonder if
the dad holds a little resentment because she moved away.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
To be with you.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
Oh yeah, someone said her dad might be jealous or nervous.
Maybe those aren't the words to use, but that she
was his baby girl first and always will be, and
now with you in the picture, he knows he will
have to hand her off to you one day. He
probably likes you and doesn't hate you, but has a
hard time showing yet.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
I could kind of see that because Alyssa is his youngest,
so he's probably like, damn after this, like, yeah, all
my daughters are grown and they're out the house and
married and you know, blah blah, blah.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah, maybe he does.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Like this text says, maybe he does like you, but
he just doesn't know how to express his feelings or
become close to anyone like that.
Speaker 8 (17:39):
I appreciate this text, it says, I truly appreciate the
vulnerability of Vaunt. Some people are not are just not
talkative people. It doesn't mean he doesn't like you. Some
people are just introverts and don't seek out conversations. Sometimes
you have to initiate the conversation because they won't. And yeah,
I know that I come on this radio and like
I stirred the pot and I'm like, oh, I don't care,
but like I do have feelings, like I love my
girlfriend Alyssa, And the first thing her and I ever
(17:59):
talked to now, she told me family means a lot
to her. So whatever I have to do to get
him to give me a hug, I will.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
But well, and and it's funny because Vaunt comes on
the radio and is deliberately interesting by doing crap like
stirring the pot and time about how Cane's is mid
and and you should not have to turn right when
the light is green if you don't want to, or
right on red. But but You're not such a dope
that you would be in front of Charlie is his name, Yes,
and be like, let me just tell you how you
(18:26):
could improve your life, Charlie, You're not clueless.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
I will tell you.
Speaker 8 (18:30):
Ironically. I had a breakthrough two days ago. I was
texting him because I was like, what are you wearing
for the wedding? Because I was going shopping for the
wedding too, And I was like, hey, sir, blah blah blah.
He texted back the answer and then he was like,
by the way, you don't have to call me sir.
You can call me Charlie.
Speaker 7 (18:45):
You call it ye're texting what Hi, sir?
Speaker 3 (18:49):
I always call the father of the man the woman
that I've dated, sir.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
No, it's it's trying too hard.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Why I appreciate if if Justin called me sir, I'd
be like, who you talking to first? Mary?
Speaker 5 (19:04):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I think that sometimes there used to be a boy
scout in our troop that was a little a hole
and he always called me sir, and I did not
buy his act. I'd be like, you need to put
those matches down and stop trying to set your tent
mate on fire. Yes, sir, Yes, sir, yes, sir, yes sir.
And I'm like, don't give me that sur stuff. You
have no respect for me or anybody else. So sometimes
(19:27):
and I'm not saying that you don't have respect.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
I know you do.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
But sometimes when you try too hard, maybe you're trying
too hard. You just need to you need to walk in,
take your shoes off, flop down on the couch and
say hey, yeah, I didn't know that.
Speaker 8 (19:41):
I just was always taught, you know, ma'am sir. I
don't say ma'am because it's a bit like older women
don't like that. And most of the time I'll say
hey mom to Alyssa's mom. But I also thought just
saying Charlie, I thought that was disrespectful.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
That was doing it out of respect. Just don't refer that's.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
A really good question. Stark call him dad, Hey? You
Stark calling him hey, daddy. You got my thoughts on this,
and let us know. There's a bunch of text messages.
It could be an age difference as well. That the
other guy's closer to dad's age, it's easier for him
to relate to Dad. I've been with my This text
says I've been with my husband for seventeen years, married
for fifteen and I'm still not close with my mother
(20:17):
in law, not for a lack of trying.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
And sometimes I think that's true.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
I mean, like Alison's son, Alison's son, Alison's husband, Justin
he is like the greatest human ever. But do we
sit there and slap each other on the back and
say let's go down to the pool hall and have
a cigar. No, it's just that's just the way it is,
and that's fine. We're totally comfortable around each other.
Speaker 8 (20:40):
I thought him saying you don't have to call me,
so call me Charlie was like a breakthrough, like a
comfortable thing. It seems like one, yeah, but now you're
making me seem like he's like, no, stop doing it.
It's disrespectful. No, he's probably just like this is formal sometime. Yeah,
it's for yeah, because he's older, like I mean, it's
my girlfriend's dad. But he's also sixty, so I thought
it was like a respect or about to be sixty,
so it's a respect thing to me.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
I just wouldn't want to be called sir. It just
seems like, man, you're almost family. Don't call me sir,
all right, you call me sir though, appreciate that. All right,
it is we're doing Dave Sturt. Let's do that right now.
Speaker 3 (21:11):

Right the worst the road trip season is coming, up
so a lot of people are headed out, to, like you,
know making plans for like when kids get out of,
school they're going on a road trip To florida Or
disney or The Black hills or. WHATEVER i got to
read you this email that we got from somebody who
was talking about road. Trips here we. Go we planned
(31:20):
a Family disneyland trip one. Year but our kids are horrific,
travelers especially from as far away as we had to
drive to get. There so for a month before we,
LEFT i started telling the, kids we're not gonna put
up with bad behavior on the. Trip every DAY i
made a point to mention it at least, once if not.
More day after, DAY i, said if you don't BEHAVE
i will turn the car around and go back.
Speaker 10 (31:42):
Home.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Ooh the day, came we got all packed and took
off the. Kids to their, credit they lasted about ten
minutes before the bickering. BEGAN i reminded them, sternly this
ain't gonna go well if you don't. Stop we ended
up getting about forty miles into the drive AND i
took an, exit turned, around and headed back. Home this
(32:04):
did not go. Unnoticed all the way, home they were almost.
Silent every few minutes one of them would, say did
we forget. SOMETHING i didn't even answer their questions and
just kept. Driving got, home went to the back of the,
van pulled out our, suitcases and went. Inside it took
the kids almost forty five minutes to come inside to
find out what was going. ON i told them THAT
(32:27):
i called my boss and canceled. Vacation i'd be coming
back in next week after. All old, boy did they
get the. Message disneyland was. Canceled oh. Wowaz as you can,
imagine the results were pretty. Dramatic after some intense, pleading
my wife AND i debated and, Said, okay if you
guys are good this, week we can try again next.
(32:51):
Week maybe here's the. Kicker we never intended to go
on that first. Attempt, oh we didn't even pack our.
Suitcases but the kids didn't. Know Brilliant the following week
when we, left they were absolutely. Angelic it was a
good twelve hour drive and we didn't hear so much
(33:13):
as a crossword for ninety nine percent of the, Drive
best family vacation drive we've ever been.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
On highly recommend.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
It wow isn't that?
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Crazy oh my, goodness that is so.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
FUNNY i was, like there's no, way there's no, way
as an, adult knowing what you have to do to
put in your vacation and get everything, organized there's no.
Way they didn't set that up to make the kids
learn a.
Speaker 7 (33:36):
Lesson have you.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Ever turned around if you're a parent or if you're
a former, kid did your parents ever turn around and
say that's. It we're going back. Home, yeah we were
going to go To Wisconsin, dell's but not.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Anymore not.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Anymore i'm turning. Around you kids are driving me batty
going back. Home did you ever turn the car around
or did you ever actually pull the car over to
slap your kids? Around Now i'm, Joking i'm, joking but
you know WHAT i. Mean, yeah we did some kind of.
Point we did one. Time, Yeah alison was. Four she
was in the back. Seat we were coming home From Wisconsin.
(34:10):
Dallas susan was. Driving i'm in the passenger, seat and
one of them wanted to sit in the, Middle kayla
Or alison about four or five years. Old they both
wanted to sit in the, middle and Then alison would
not Let kayla sit in the, middle even Though allison
had already sat in the. Middle, alison, stop just. STOP
(34:31):
i pulled the car. Over AND i don't know WHAT i,
did BUT i definitely pulled the car. OVER i didn't
slap her around or anything like that because somebody might be.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Watching it's, Like, god stop.
Speaker 7 (34:40):
It the only STORY i have WAS i was with
my friend's.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
Family we went down To New orleans because her dad
had some conference or, something and we were in this
parking lot and for some, reason it was the worst parking,
lot worse than The Costco Saint Louis park parking, lot
and we couldn't get. Out and this was when you used,
maps and we couldn't figure out where to. Go so
he had a physical, map a map, yep and he's
arguing with his. Wife we're in the, background just like
(35:05):
messing around and, whatever and he gets so frustrated that he's,
like just stop the, car.
Speaker 7 (35:09):
And then he threw the map back at. Us the,
kids LIKE i.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Was a senior in high, school so not really like
a kid, kid but like his, brother my friend's brother
was in the car too and was, like you, guys
figure it.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
Out and we were, like we were like trying.
Speaker 7 (35:23):
To and then the mom like stepped in and got
everyone calm and. Stuff BUT i remember being like terrified
at that, moment LIKE i don't know how to read a.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Map oh my, god that's. Funny what is the?
Speaker 1 (35:34):
MAP i got a couple of text messages we're talking
about did parents actually turn the car around because you
were acting up or being? MOUTHY a couple of text.
Messages my mom did that on the way to a
New kids on The block. Concert, okay if you girls
don't shut up and sit, down we're. Turning oh that's,
it and they went back.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Home by the, way the worst if you're on a
ready to a concert that you're so excited.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
For no.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Kidding by the, way shout out good Luck, sophia fifth
grader From blaine on HER mca state testing that start next.
Week you got, This, sophia and thanks for listening TO.
Kdwb here's another. Text it, says my mom pulled the
car over to kick me. OUT i was about, thirteen
being a smart mouth little. Brat she, said get, out
AND i had to walk, home probably a mile or.
(36:19):
TWO i learned, quickly don't call mom's. BLUFF i think
we get somebody on the phone. Here we're talking about
did your parents ever really actually turn the car around
or kick or or stop the?
Speaker 10 (36:29):
Car, Hi, jamie, morning, Guys how are y'all?
Speaker 5 (36:32):
Good what happened on your road?
Speaker 10 (36:34):
Trip so my mom hit us with you, KNOW i
was probably like twelve or, thirteen and my brother was
like two or three years older than, me so he
was probably like fifteen, sixteen and my mom hit, us you,
know like we were just bickering like you you'll usually, do.
Speaker 12 (36:48):
And she hit us with, that don't make me pull
this car.
Speaker 10 (36:51):
Over and we didn't believe her because for how many
times she had said, it she's never got.
Speaker 5 (36:56):
It, well, yeah she proved us.
Speaker 10 (36:57):
Wrong she pulled us over on the side of one
on the side in six ninety four and made us
get out of the, truck AND i was bawling my eyes.
OUT i was, like you left, Us but she only
pulled up LIKE i don't, know maybe a hundred hundred
and fifty yards or, whatever fifty feet or, Whatever so
not super, far but it not to prove the point,
that like she was dead. Serious she's, like the next
TIME i tell you guys to knock it, off you
(37:19):
better listen.
Speaker 12 (37:19):
To, me because this was the. PRECURSOR i will make
you walk home next.
Speaker 10 (37:23):
Time and good luck figuring it out because none of
you aren't directionally.
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Challenged, wow so did it.
Speaker 12 (37:28):
Work, yeah my brother AND i when we would get
in the car after. That the only other TIME i
ever got.
Speaker 10 (37:33):
Mad WAS i REMEMBER i started pouting AND i like
tucked myself into a turtle shell like you do in
your sweatshirt as a. Kid, yes my mom was yelling
at me to like get my seatbelt, on AND i didn't,
listen and.
Speaker 12 (37:44):
Well my mom went down an entrance ramp AND.
Speaker 10 (37:46):
I rolled across the back seat like in my turtle.
Speaker 12 (37:48):
Shell after, that we never like when we got in the,
car it was.
Speaker 10 (37:56):
You sit in the, Front i'll sit in the. Back
like we never sat in the back together. Anymore we
never as so much like would have words with each
other unless it was, Like, katie you remember what movie
this was or, whatever so my mom got her. Way
we never bickered.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
Again, wow you, Know AND i think that's what one
of the great secrets of parenting is carrying, Through carrie
through with your, threats because if you, say if you
don't stop doing, that you're going to, bed and you
say it fifteen, times your kids learned that whatever you,
say they're not going to follow through.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
With thank, You, jamie have a great. Day CAN i
read some text? Messages, yeah, yeah this one SAYS i
they never turned. Around but my sil is that, sister
my sister in, law son in law just wrap a
few empty boxes under The christmas tree to toss in
the fire when their kids miss behave during the.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Seaside are you?
Speaker 5 (38:41):
Serious?
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Brilliant oh my, God, yeah that's.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Wild that's From. Katie Thanks. Katie this text says my
mom pulled the car over and made us get out
of the car and walk on the sidewalk all the way,
home which was almost two, miles and she drove on
the shoulder of the road next to. Us she forced
us to hold hands and would yell out the window
once in a.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
While.
Speaker 5 (39:00):
Wow so they had to walk along the side of
the road holding the.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Hand.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
Yeah and this one, also my mom never turned, around
but one time she got mad at me for being
rude when she was driving and reached back and grabbed
my butterfinger from my hand and threw it out the.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Window marks on the.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Phone.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Mark we're talking about the vacation and family road. Trips
and did mom and dad ever actually turn around or
pull the car over to the side to make it behave?
Speaker 5 (39:24):
Mark what do you?
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Got?
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Yeah so my wife just to set the background a little,
bit as a second grade school, teacher and she's pretty, strict.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
And we've turned around many. Times but the funniest story
was one time MY i think ten year old at the,
time maybe, eight said something in the. Car you shouldn't have,
said and she pulls over and we're in a funeral
home parking lot and she gets him out to give
him a. Timeout so he's sitting on the curb and
she's sitting after, him and a.
Speaker 7 (39:52):
Police officer shows up and she.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Walks up and he's, like.
Speaker 7 (39:56):
Is there a problem, here?
Speaker 12 (39:57):
Ma'am and she lays into the.
Speaker 5 (39:59):
Office do you know what he?
Speaker 12 (40:00):
Said do you want to hear what he?
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Said and the officer, goes he just got this look
on his. Face he walked over to the car and,
goes good luck with, Dad i'm out of.
Speaker 12 (40:11):
Here it was so.
Speaker 5 (40:12):
HILARIOUS i thought you were gonna say that he pepper
sprayed the. KID i always hoping the. Kid that would
have been a good.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Cop if the cop would have pepper sprayed the kid
and cuffed, him that would have been a good, bit good.
Bit Thanks, MARK i appreciate it. All are you got
a couple of more than we got to move on?
Here we got some more text messages about pulling the
car over on the trip To, Wisconsin dell's or saying that's,
it we're turning. AROUND i love the Fake christmas presence
under the, tree so when the kid's mouth, off you
throw one in the. Fireplace, WOW i have a tuk
(40:37):
back To, okay what do we?
Speaker 9 (40:38):
Got last, summer my five year old was being a
little ish AND i told him that if he didn't,
stop we were.
Speaker 5 (40:44):
Going to get out of the car and we were
gonna walk.
Speaker 7 (40:47):
Home and he kept it, up AND i told my
husband to pull, over.
Speaker 5 (40:54):
AND i got him out of the, car.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
AND i got the baby and the stroller out of.
Speaker 5 (40:59):
The car and we walcked the last mile and a half.
Speaker 7 (41:03):
Home And i'm not, sorry, geez, yeah.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
But it probably did the right.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
Thing yeah.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Says we went camping In yellowstone with three families and
used walkie talkies to. Communicate the first car pulled over
and left a kid on the side of the.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Road.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
Ops we then heard over the walkie talkie for the
last cars slowed down and pick them up in ten.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Minutes, okay there's a bunch of, THESE i bet jo
just about everybody who's been on a road trip with
their famili's got some sort of. MEMORY i love this.
One driving through the mountains In. Montana my dad played
and played and played As John denver cassette tape till
my mom ejected, it yanked it out and threw it
out the window down a. Cliff here's WHAT i pulled
(41:48):
over just this. Morning my daughter thrown a. FIT i,
said it's dangerous for me to drive when you're crying so.
LOUD i told HER i got to pull over and
call those school principal and tell her we'll be late
because we can't drive.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
Safely there's saying in front of the school. Principle, wow
this person kind of overall SAYS i think more parents
need to do similar stuff to, this especially for the
kids who can't behave In target Or. Walmart tell your
kids the minute you, misbehave we're going. Home and then
you take them out of the. Cart you leave your
stuff at the store and go. Home teach them that
it's their privileged to go into the store with, you
and it's a. Necessity you can't be. MISBEHAVING i love,
(42:20):
Though i'm here for. It, okay parenting is, tough but
carry through the little. Threats you got to do, that all.
