Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yes, you can listen for free on the iHeartRadio app.
Anywhere you go take a trip to Bali, you can
use the I R Radio app and you can.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Still listen to us. Can I come with you? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Bailey would like to.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Be invited, So if you're going, please invite Bailey and
she will gladly stick around.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
What would you do?
Speaker 4 (00:16):
Like?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
I think Bali is one of those famous places that
have those big swings that like fly over like a
very open area where it's just like break and like
you can fall to your death?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Would you do that for the picture?
Speaker 2 (00:26):
I'll pass.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Seriously, Google Like Bali swing would just like insta one
of the most instagram like travel things.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
Would you try to sell me?
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Would you go to the place where you could fall
to your death? It's like what for the picture? I
mean I would look stupid in the picture anyway. So now, well,
if hearing us is not enough, all of.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Us probably would at one point because I definitely swung
on swing and look real dog doing that. So anyways, okay,
Vat was telling us this funny story about something his
uncle did, and we want your opinion.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Let us know how you feel. Vaughn, tell us what happened.
Speaker 5 (01:00):
So I last Friday was Valentine's Day and my aunt
uncle God bless them because they're those They're one of
those couples that have been married for only a couple
of years because they didn't care to get married, but
they've been together practically their entire lives. Love them, and
so I've only ever seen my aunt with him. Last week,
I think Thursday, the night before Valentine's Day, he told
her I'm packing you a bag or I packed your bag,
(01:21):
one of the two, and we're going to Puerto Rico
in the morning. I don't even think he told her.
I think he said we're getting on a plane in
the morning. And then she found out like when they
got there and she saw the tickets and whatnot. Oh,
which is I think that's the sweetest, most romantic thing.
I wish I could do that for a Lissa one day.
I will do that for a Lissa one day. Putting
that manifesting that, However, I think it's just odd. I'm
a man, and I know that I would be like, so, wait,
(01:43):
what did you pack for me in this bag? Cause
like what man really knows how to pack? I hate packing.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I can imagine too, Like if a man had to
pack my bag for me, and if it was somebody
you know I was seeing on the regular, they'd be
like throwing all the sexy underwear into the bag, and
I'd be like, can I not this sunder Like this
is not the underwear that I wear on the regular basis, Yeah,
but be like, yeah, I'm gonna look hot on this
trip to Puerto Rico.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
She has an office job, so she works during the day.
But like, but somewhere between Thursday night and Friday morning,
he said, hey, like, I got your bag packed. We're
going to the airport like tomorrow morning or in a
couple of hours. And I don't know how she reacted.
But now they're on a beautiful well they're back home now,
but they were on a beautiful island viks in Puerto Rico,
living the dream, probably having some delicious Puerto Rican food,
(02:27):
and I'm jealous.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
So I guess my thing is is if I trusted
Andrew to pack for me, I wouldn't a be he
wouldn't pack enough pairs of underwear because as a female,
you bring at least three times the amount of underwear
that you need. Of course, b he would forget half
of the things that I would need, Yeah, because he
forgets something on every single trip. Usually it's a toothbrush.
(02:49):
He always forgets his toothbrush. Yeah, you'd have no moisturizer,
Like would I wouldn't have the basic necessities. But like
Bailey said, like he'd probably pack like really cute like
sun dress that he thinks is cute or something like that.
But then I wouldn't have something comfortable to wear.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
No phamas.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, yeah, like something like that. So I think I
would struggle with him packing for me. I did, however,
see a bachelor at party recently. They they had the
bride'smaids were like, hey, can you pack for her her
fiance so that she has no idea where we're going,
because you know, when you pack, you obviously have some
idea like are we going somewhere tropical or whatever?
Speaker 3 (03:26):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
So they asked the fiance to pack for her. And
it's like if the bridesmaids are involved and they're giving
kind of like a list of like hey, you should
pack this, this and that, then I could understand that,
but like to just trust Andrew out of the Blue
to planet trick and then pack for me yes, I
don't think that would go well. I would be like
in the souvenir shops shopping for myself, probably for clothes
(03:48):
to wear.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
And I want to know you can text us at five, three,
nine to one or call us like if one if
this has ever been done to you, or if you've
done it, and how the reaction was after, because like
I said, I am a man, and I wouldn't trust
myself one to book the trip because I feel like
I would just underwhelm Melissa, like we're going to Puerto Rico. Cool,
but like you want to go to experiences, you don't
want to just go stay at an Airbnb. I feel
(04:11):
like I wouldn't think like, oh, let's book an excursion.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
I also know Alyssa is very picky and selective and
the clothes she wears. I'm also that way, So I
just I don't know how I would react. Also, we
don't have jobs, the three of us where we could
just like, oh, I'm not coming in today or Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday because I'm in Puerto Rico. That's just not what
we do.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
I was gonna say it would have to be like
a setup like Andrew's, like Hey, I need you to
take these days off, right, it would never be like
just a trip sis. Maybe it could be a like
surprise of where we're going. Sure, So I went to
texted and I said, my husband does this every year,
but he does tell me the climate so I can
pack for myself. I would not trust him to pack,
but love the surprise.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
And what you were saying Vin about like planning stuff.
I feel like Jenny and I are in the same
boat where the planning is part of like the fun.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yes, it's like therapy to me.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
And also like in planning, you know that you're gonna
end up doing something that you like, versus like if
I go on a trip and I didn't get to
plan any of it and I just have to like
hope that the other person is fun. Oh my gosh,
that sounds that sounds terrible exactly.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
But if you were with a partner that you know,
you guys travel well, say at that point, then you
could because I would trust Andrew at this point and
plan everything, I mean, not to plan everything. I would
I would trust him to plan like some things, and
then I would still probably while I'm there, figure some
stuff out because I do.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
That anyways, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yeah, And also shout out to social media and figuring
out your algorithm, because when you start going somewhere, like
when we did our first camper van trip to Utah,
I was getting fed all kinds of Utah content once
I was like looking at stuff. So shout out to
the algorithm. Yah, shout out to them. Okay, we have
some people on the phone. Hi, Heidi, good morning. How
are you today?
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Good?
Speaker 3 (05:56):
What did you want to say about this?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Have you had an experience with someone surprising you with
a trip before?
Speaker 6 (06:03):
I actually surprised my husband with it for his thirtieth birthday.
I packed his bag, talked to his work, picked him
up from work, blindfolded him, and brought him to Nashville for.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
His thirtieth And he just trusted you, like, no questions, nothing.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
Yeah, trusted me. Thought I was bringing him to like
a concert or something. And then I was like, well,
hop on a plane, We're going to Nashville. And then
I coordinated all of his friends to meet us in
Nashville at different times.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Dang birthday to remember. You did, good girl.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
So you were able to reach out to his company
and they were cool, like, yeah, we trust that he
should have these days off, because I feel like my company,
our company might question if like a significant other was like, yeah,
they need the days off, Like, I don't think they
trust that.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
I think our company gets us when we reach out
to day like like, are you realized with everyone?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Are you sure?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
So? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (06:53):
Yeah, we're so great.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
I think for Heidi was also easier because it's easy
to pack for man. Let's be honest, it's so easy
to pack for men on trips.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
You just said you wouldn't trust it. You don't know
if you'd trust Elissa.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah, but men generally. Me personally, I think Alyssa could.
I don't know how it feels. But for men, it's
typically like swimming trunks, white T shirts, shorts, It's pretty standard.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
I do agree with that because Andrew wears pretty much
the same outfit every single days. I'm in like new
outfits every day in our photos, and he's in the
same one.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
But whatever.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
We also have Ellen on the phone. Hi Ellen, how
are you today?
Speaker 7 (07:28):
Good morning?
Speaker 3 (07:30):
What's what's the story? Do you have something?
Speaker 8 (07:34):
Sorry?
Speaker 7 (07:34):
I have it both ways. I have a lot like Heidi,
where I planned a trip from my husband. We went
to Boston, fortieth birthday, and we've never left our kids before,
so we woke them up that morning, A contacted his work.
I drove him to the airport.
Speaker 8 (07:46):
And he had no idea where.
Speaker 7 (07:47):
We were going.
Speaker 8 (07:48):
He thought we were going to go to Mickey's Diner
and say Paul whatever.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
For breakfast for his birthday. And we took off and
it was great. I packed all of this stuff, had
you know, everything ready to go. We met his friends
out in Boston.
Speaker 8 (07:59):
But then he thought he would do the.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
Same for me for one of our anniversaries and we
were only going to Chipplewafall, Wisconsin. You guys, it was terrible,
fat anything that I needed. It was only for a weekend.
Speaker 8 (08:13):
He tried really hard, but we had to go buy
all other provisions because not only did I mean their
Lady products he forgot.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
He forgot my contact solution.
Speaker 8 (08:21):
Yeah, he forgot my glasses.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
Ellen.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
How did he do on the closed aspects?
Speaker 7 (08:28):
Not bad because it was cold out.
Speaker 8 (08:30):
Okay, sure, I mean he's kind of a winter weather.
Speaker 7 (08:32):
Kind of guy. Well, giving me a jacket and whatnot,
but he didn't bring any extra cash, nothing. The stuff
that moms always think about lives, always.
Speaker 8 (08:39):
Think about that you kind of need. But Ellen, he tried,
so I got to give him the efforts when.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
He planned it. Did he just tell you like we're
going to the airport? Like how did or like so
did he just drive? Like did you guys just get
in the car? You didn't known till you got there?
Speaker 7 (08:54):
Well, I didn't know. He had the kids planned to
go with my mother in law, and so.
Speaker 8 (08:58):
The kids weren't home one day when I came home
from work and.
Speaker 7 (09:00):
I'm like, where the baby is? And he's like, they're gone.
We're getting in the corner.
Speaker 8 (09:03):
We're going somewhere.
Speaker 7 (09:04):
And I kind of panicked because I don't leave my
kids real often, so.
Speaker 8 (09:07):
That was kind of like, what where are they going
to be? I know how to get a hold of them?
He forgot phone chargers.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Geez.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
At all?
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Question if he okay if he planned a trip but
did say, hey, pack for this climate, would you be
okay with that if you had no idea what the
trip was but you knew the climate, would you trust
him for that part?
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Yes, It just was the actual packing part that you
were like, well, you know, I do need my contact
solution or my glasses one are the others?
Speaker 2 (09:35):
So I can see. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Oh my gosh, Ellen, that's too funny.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
All right, Well, I hope people have learned from this conversation.
If you decide to surprise your significant other, make sure
that you pack everything that they need, including the essentials
like navy products and.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Their glasses so they can see what they're looking at.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Or do what my uncle did. I think like the
gesture of like, just get on this plane is cool,
but maybe just wait until the night before. That way
they have the slightest of heads up so they can
pack themselves.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Yeah, for sure, we're unpacked the bag that Shay packed
for me and redo it.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
You b is the day Ryan in the Morning show? Yes,
you can watch our beautiful faces. Well sometimes we're beautiful
out of it well Haarley today. But are we even
on YouTube right now?
Speaker 7 (10:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Oh there is.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Oh I thought I was taking a potty break and
I was like, I don't know if we're on the
YouTube right now, but you can watch us, Bailly.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
What's our YouTube channel called?
Speaker 4 (10:26):
It is called Dave Well, you can just look up
the Dave Ryan Show or Dave Ryan TV and we'll
pop up right there, says two twenty one.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
We're live right now.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Beautiful and Bailly is always like chatting back and forth
with people, So if you want to comment on it,
you can comment live and Bailey will chat.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
With you back.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
But it is time to cook you up with some
tickets to see Charlie XCX. She's going to be at
the Target Center April twenty six, so we have a
pair of tickets to hook you up with right now.
The way that this works is Bailey is going to
read you a very detailed story and what you have
to do is answer a question she's going to ask
(11:02):
at the end of it. So do not start calling
right now. You have to hear this story first and
then hear what question she's going to ask us. So
just hold off on, Colleen, just listen to story first. Bailey,
go ahead, tell us your beautiful story.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
Here's the story. Joyce has been a tutor for six years.
She works with preteens from Oakview Middle School to prepare
them for big exams like the Pea sat on a
cold day in November before the snow started to sick
but after Thanksgiving, Joyce was tutoring Brian, an eighth grader
who was struggling in algebra. They worked on long division
complex multiplication and variables. Brian's sister, Rita was in the
(11:37):
sixth grade and liked to learn most about poetry, especially Shakespeare.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
On this day, while.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Brian was working on algebra and Rita was reading their
adorable brown Saint Bernard, Max burst through the kitchen door
with a fish in his mouth, knocking over the table
they worked at.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Joyce didn't know.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
What to do or how to get the kids back
on track, so she grabbed the pink leash, hooked it
on Max, and they all went.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
To the lake to get ice cream.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Geez, I'm so so lost.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
I think there were so many details in that great story,
very detailed.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Okay, do you want to do a practice question?
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Your practice question for you and Vaughan is what was
Max carrying in his mouth?
Speaker 5 (12:17):
A toothpick? I don't know. You lost me A fish?
Speaker 4 (12:21):
A fish?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (12:23):
But I was like, I don't, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
I feel like I get really honed in on certain details,
and then the next like sentence, you say, I forget
you know what I mean, And I'm like, okay, remember
this and this and that.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Okay, well I'll stop talking. I'll stop talking now.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Because now Bailey is going to ask the question that
is for the concert tickets to see Charlie XCX. So
if you heard that story, Bailey, what is the question
for winning these tickets?
Speaker 4 (12:45):
The question is what grade was Brian in?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Okay, God, I have no idea. I have no idea.
I like feel Okay.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
I will be quiet because I don't want to reveal
any other answers. But call us right now six, five, one, nine, nine,
katiew be if you know the answer to that question,
you might be seeing Charli XCX. I guess I shall
be at Target Center coming up on April twenty six.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
So you just got to answer this one simple question.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
But if you're like me and you hone in on
certain things, you may have no idea what the answer
to the question is.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Because I do not, Oky, I think I got the answer.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
Yeah, I think it's like two things that I remember
from this story.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Okay, well don't blurt it.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Someone's on the phone right now, so let's see. Good morning, Mackenzie.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
How are you today?
Speaker 9 (13:28):
Are you good?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
So you heard Bailey's story, do you feel like you
know the answer? Are you kind of questioning yourself right now?
Speaker 8 (13:35):
A little bit questioning Okay, Well.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Bailey, go ahead and ask the question.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
What grade was Brian in?
Speaker 10 (13:42):
Brian sixth grade?
Speaker 5 (13:44):
No?
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Not six sixth grade?
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Okay, I'm sorry, Mackenzie.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Thanks for trying. We will wait for another CALLI here, Yeah,
I don't.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I like my heart is telling me a range of time,
but I don't feel like I have it correct. I
think I've got Amy on the phone. Hi, Amy, Hi,
all right, Bailly, ask your question? Hey, Amy, what grade
was Brian in?
Speaker 8 (14:10):
Eighth grade?
Speaker 2 (14:10):
He was an eight?
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Amy, You're going to go see Charlie XCX.
Speaker 8 (14:20):
Congratulations, My daughter Jayalen do the answer.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Yeah, Daylen, good job listening.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Well, hold on, hold on, Amy, So you did not
technically win these tickets?
Speaker 3 (14:31):
These tickets? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (14:33):
So are you and Jalen going to this concert together?
Does Jalen get to take a pal with No, we're
going to awesome. You're seeing Charlie XX. Congratulations. It's gonna
be such a good concert coming up on April twenty six. Amy,
hang on, we'll get your information and get.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
You all set up.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Okay, thank you, You're welcome.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
So excited. I love that good.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I definitely would have said third grade. I thought it
was like more elementary age.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
I don't know why, but I did.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Preteens promote middle school. I was, I mean, technically you
only have three options in the middle school.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
So yeah, I didn't even remember that detail of it.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
So all right, time for some damestt brought to you
by six one two Injured Timer and Lammer's Injury Law.
So let's get into Cynthia Arrivo. She obviously is most
well not most well known. If you're in the theater,
it's okay you recently, she's very much well known for Wicked,
(15:31):
but she is teasing.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
A new album. Okay, that's all we got.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
That is the tea for her, you know. I guess
that was the best we're getting today. That is why
they call it shee.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
I'm really excited because she's hosting the Tonys, and I'm
really excited for her to host the Tonys so I
can watch the Tonys and eat it all up. I
love the Tonies, obviously. I feel like that's not news
to anyone.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yes that when is that happening? It usually happens in
like June, I thought it was coming up. I don't
know why.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
I guess maybe just because it was announced recently. That's
why we're talking about it. Okay, for some reason, I
thought it was coming up because it's like award.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Season right now.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
So anyways, all right, Liam Payne, the charges have been
dropped against his friends for manslaughter. Basically, they said that
their friend Roger told Rolling Stone, I'm glad this finally
is over. I'm happy I'm now going to be able
to travel to the UK and say goodbye to my friends.
So a court ruled that Norris and his two hotel
(16:28):
employees were not complicit in Liam's death because they couldn't
have done anything.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
To prevent it.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
I guess they were kind of barely was talking about
this off air, like they were kind of being charged
because they were out partying with him, and they were
like saying that they were going to be charged for
manslaughter and being involved in his death.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
Yeah, but then they said that the last time they
saw him, he was like talking to people in the
hotel lobby and then they left and like within an
hour is when he died. So I was likening it too, like, Okay,
I've gone to the clerk full of times, yeah, and
had drunk friends that I end up you know, like
dropping off at their apartment or been like Okay, bye,
see you in the morning or talk to you later.
(17:09):
But you never think that that person's going to die.
So like, I totally get I mean, I like have
sympathy for them.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
But the two men accused of selling him the cocaine
before his death are still awaiting in prison for their trials,
So those people are not off the hook yet, and
I don't know that they necessarily will get off the
hook for that one. Leyton Mester is going to be
joining the cast. If nobody wants This the hit series
on Netflix that came out in twenty twenty four. Bailly
and I loved that show. Highly recommend checking it out
(17:38):
if you haven't. It's with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody,
and Adam is married in real life to Layton. She's
going to be playing an Instagram Mommy influencer in the
next season. Fine filming starts in March for that one.
I'm very excited for that one to come out. And
let's just play this. It's a viral video of a
reporter getting hit by a car. This happened three years ago,
(18:00):
so she's celebrating the anniversary of it, but the clip
is hilarious. If you've seen this, you probably recognize it.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Oh my god, I got hit by a car.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
But I'm okay.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
I just got hit by a car.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
But I'm okay, Tim, I'm okay, I'm okay.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Yeah, you know that's live TV for you. It's all good.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
I actually got hit by a car in college too,
Just like that. I am so glad. I'm okay. She
didn't mean too. It was an accident. I know it was,
and I'm okay.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
But again, Tim, we'll get back to the report, right
coci'll start looking both ways.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
I was gonna say it, but you victim, blame me. No,
just that she's like, oh, this happened to.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Me in college as well. Why.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
I love that you can hear the person coming out there,
Are you okay because of the like moment of freak out.
Oh man, that also sound a little Midwestern, and she
had a bit of an accident to her.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh I'm fine.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
I love the Granted, I guess she was like on
TV at the time, but I would definitely be the
person who the second I get hit by a car,
I would bring up my phone, go on Instagram, stories
and be like.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
You guys are just kind of playing a car. I
would be that person. Well, she's a news reporter, right,
so she's on TV probably Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Okay, So Love Is Blind drop new episodes today. I
obviously have not watched it yet because it came out
at like two AM, but absolutely be watching it. I
did see a clip last night because they were the
Netflix Instagram account's been teasing things, So I'm very excited
for hopefully finally getting some drama. Yes, because everyone and
their mom was saying that this has been a very
boring season and I hate that. I hate that the
(19:30):
Minneapolis is being branded that way because I'm like these
there are people.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
But I will definitely be watching those vonton. Have you
caught up on the episode yet?
Speaker 5 (19:39):
Oh, be honest, no. I attempted to watch the first
episode again and it just bored me. Oh, let's talk
about this real quick, because all the guys are pretty
much copy and paste in every sense of the matter,
like the way they look, the personality. They're all like,
what like mid thirties white guys. And it's so funny
because people are like, it's Love is Bland and Jenny's
boyfriend and who posted a picture of him as one
(20:02):
of the guys, just because they all look the same. Yeah,
just like I don't even I don't know. I just
can't get into it.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Honestly. That's the dating pool, it seems.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
I was just telling Jenny earlier that like on dating apps,
they all look just like all the guys on Love
is Blind. So I feel like, yes, it's not necessarily
a representation of how great the diversity is in the
Twin Cities, because we do have such a diverse population here.
But of the dating app, yes, it looks a lot
like the dating app in real life.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Yeah, but well whatever, if you don't want to show,
it's fine, peale and I will cover watch it my
entire afternoon.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
I live CAUs with you guys.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
I mean, realistically, you could probably just fast forward to
the last episode, watch all the engagements or non engagements happen,
and then like just start up with these new episodes
that are dropping. Yeah, so three new ones come out
today and then weekly for the next couple of weeks.
So I that will be my plans for the rest
of the day once I get done working.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Same, Okay.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Tam mcgraham's new music out today so we're playing some
of our songs every hour.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Now.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
This one is called Blood on My Hands, and I
will be honest, I have never heard of this artist
that is featured on it with her?
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Have you done?
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Flow? Millie?
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Got a couple of she's a rappers, got a couple
of songs that I've heard.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Okay, awesome. Well this is her new one, Blood on
my Hands with Flow Milly.
Speaker 10 (21:17):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
All right, we're in the studio gossiping because our good
buddy Tony's tier.
Speaker 10 (21:22):
Hi, Tony.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
About Yvon.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Don't worry.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
We're notsping about other things. Don't worry. But it is
time for no phone screen of Friday. Tony's here because
he's going to be playing mixtape game with us. And
you're real early today.
Speaker 6 (21:38):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
I was drinking my coffee. I was excited to go.
I'm in my new Lexus, thanks Lexus and Maple.
Speaker 11 (21:44):
Sorry sorry, I was ready to get car. Polly sold
it to me. We were on the roll, so I
had to get here early because I want to sit
in that car. You know, I've been spending more time
in your car lately.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Wednesday, so yeah, I've out morning.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
All right, Well, we're going to get into no phone
screen or Friday. Right now, how does this work?
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Well?
Speaker 8 (22:06):
Work?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Do you call in and we don't screen the fall
the phone calls so we have no idea what you
want to say because we're not screening it. It's six
five one nine eight nine, katiewb. We do have a
few rules. We'll go over Bailey. Do you want to
listen off one of the rules.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
Yeah. One of the rules is that you're not gonna
be plugging anything, like, hey, everybody should come out to
my furniture store like you want to plug your business
or plug like your school band concert.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Like everybody should come on down to Oak V Middle School.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Not. No plugging of any kinds. No plugging of any kinds.
Please have a plan. Yes, when you call, if you
just want to say hi, don't call us. Just call
us with a plan. Come up with something you want
to ask us, talk to us about whatever you want.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
It's fine.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
But as long as you have something and the obvious.
Please no cursing, Please, no politics or you know, just
the things that you wouldn't talk about at the dinner table.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Okay, love that.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Well, the phones are lighting up already, so let's get
right into this. Hello, katiewb. You are on no phone
screen or what do you want to talk about?
Speaker 9 (23:01):
Hi, guys, I'm at Wenesday.
Speaker 10 (23:03):
Happy Friday to everybody, and I hope everyone has a
great weekend.
Speaker 8 (23:07):
I just wondering you guys do a lot of events
for the community.
Speaker 9 (23:10):
Have you guys ever thought about maybe doing an adult
prom or so, because.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
Me and my husband never got to go and we
would totally do that.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
That's a great question. And sorry I didn't ask. What
was your name? Amber, Amber?
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (23:23):
So we have tossed that idea around because they used
to do like, god, I'm thinking last Chance Summer Daan,
they used to do some kind of prom and there
was a name for it and I forget what it
was called, but it was way back in the day.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
So we have tossed that idea around.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
But that's a great idea that we can bring up
to our promotions department, which is honestly actually just us
on the morning show now because we don't have a
promotions department.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
But I will write it down, Jenny.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Write it down, And do you write it down?
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Amber, Amber, You can say it yourself. Write it down, Jenny,
write down, Jenny. I will okay, Amber, we'll get that in.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
We'll see if we can get a prom going anyone
who didn't make it to prom, or if you.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Loved prom, well girl party Famber, if you got to
go to prom, what color would your dress? Bee?
Speaker 11 (24:06):
Oh, dark blue, dark blue?
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Sligh.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
We love to see it, not that you've thought about
it at all the top.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Of my head.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Things are calling Amber, Hello, you're on no phone screen
or Friday.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
What's your name? Amanda? Hi, Amanda, what do you want
to talk about?
Speaker 7 (24:20):
Hi?
Speaker 3 (24:21):
I just wanted to know.
Speaker 10 (24:22):
Are you guys doing Star Party this year?
Speaker 1 (24:25):
That's a really great question. As of right now, we're
not sure. We will have to see what happens. I'll
be completely honest with you. Ever since COVID happened, it's
very hard to get artists to come out to concerts,
to do small little concerts like a few song sets,
because they want to be the headliner of their own concerts.
(24:45):
So it's been a little bit difficult to throw things
like Star Party together because honestly, the musicians don't want
to do little things like that. So we are hoping
that we'll have something like that happening, but it all
depends on who's available and if we can throw together.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
So I don't have an answer for you at this moment.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
I'm manifesting and starting now.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Yes, I love that, Katie w B. You're on no
phone screen or Friday? What's your name, Tiffany?
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Tiffany?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
What I want to talk about?
Speaker 7 (25:16):
I actually had a question.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (25:18):
So I was listening like, not last Friday, but the
Friday previous to that, and goes to seventh yep, and.
Speaker 8 (25:27):
I think, like, Rich, is that your boss or something?
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Yet?
Speaker 7 (25:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (25:31):
Boss, Okay, he came on.
Speaker 9 (25:33):
It was like a little voice and he's like, they
won't be in today, and I apologize for anything that
offended anybody.
Speaker 7 (25:42):
It was like a weird little message. I was just
curious what why was he apologizing and why.
Speaker 8 (25:50):
Dave was it there?
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
That so that's a little bit of an internal matter
that we can't fully discuss on the raydo.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
I totally get your curiosity, but unfortunately that is something
that we don't have the answer to either, which is
as two in a row, no answer for Star Party,
no answer for this one e there.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
So we can guarantee that Dave was not there that day,
and Rich is in fact our boss. Yeah, so we
can guarantee those two things. And I will let you
know that Dave is in Vegas right now.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
He's not off the air today, he's just he's out
in Vegas for a friend's birthday party.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
So that's where he is today. But thank you so
much for calling Tiffany. Hello, Katie w B. You're on
no phone screen or Friday. What's your name?
Speaker 10 (26:31):
Hi, good morning. My name is Cameron.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Hi, Cameron, what's going on?
Speaker 6 (26:36):
I was wondering.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
I was actually talking to one of my coworkers.
Speaker 9 (26:39):
We're both listening to you guys in the morning, and
I was wondering for the War of Roses. I know
a lot of times you guys do this throughout this
time in the morning. What do you do if they're
like a person that isn't going to answer their phone
at this time in the morning to be able to
do this over the radio, right, or if you know.
Speaker 10 (27:00):
How you guys choose to to who to do?
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yeah, that's a really good question.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
We actually do not do it live when when you're
hearing it, it's not happening live because of the fact
that people don't answer their phones anymore.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
Too.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
A random number.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
People swear a lot of times on War of the
Roses or say inappropriate things, so we actually record those
when we're off air, either like Tuesday Wednesday mornings or something,
because we can never rely on someone answering their phone.
So that's the only thing that we don't do live
on the radio because it just wouldn't work out. We
(27:33):
go through almost like five different kinds of War of
the Roses until we get one where someone actually answers.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Is kind of how it works.
Speaker 7 (27:40):
Okay, that's what I was wondering.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Yeah, everything else is live. This is live right now.
Me not wearing pants is live? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
What time is it right now?
Speaker 5 (27:47):
Bought eleven fourteen.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
A push your pants on to stop lying? Yeah, seven
forty nine. All right, thanks for your call, Katie w B.
It's no phone screener Friday.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
What's your name?
Speaker 10 (28:02):
My name is Kate.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Hey, Kay, what do you want to talk about?
Speaker 10 (28:05):
Hey, it's just curious. Your guys' job seems so fun,
but we all know work and jobs to be strustful sometimes,
so I'm so curious, like, what is it that you
guys enjoy most about what you do and what is
the most strustful thing you have to deal with that work.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
Can I start, Yeah, this isn't even stress. This is
just I've been wanting somebody to ask. What I like
least about my job is headphone hair. It's so annoying.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
That's what's changed.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
I got like earbuds that just go straight in my
ears because my I put product in my hair every
morning because you know, black people hair curly hair, and
when I put regular headphones on, it'll like smush my hair.
So that's, honestly the part about this job that I
like least. That's I'm not even just trying to say face.
What I like most about it, honestly, is just like
talking to people literally like this because you never know
what some people have to say on the radio, And
(28:53):
the other day somebody got pulled over in the middle
of a bit that we were doing that's never happened before.
Sometimes it's just like a random coin toss.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Mayor sorry, but probably like same with you. My favorite
thing is just like chatting with all of you guys
every day, especially when we kind of like go off
the rails a little bit and we start talking about
something that we weren't planning on, and then I can
make jokes and stuff. I do like making jokes, So
that's my favorite part. My least favorite part, I think
is I'm not necessarily from like a radio background, so
(29:26):
having eyes on me and being like a slash like.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Quote unquote public figure is a little bit difficult for
me at some time.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Don't worry.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Have you got stuffing at the gas station yet? I mean,
I get I get not stopped.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
But people are like Bailey, I'm like yes, and if
I don't recognize them, then I know that they're a listener.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
And then they're like Katie w B like aha, just
said that at Target, you're sick, don't talk to me.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
And then somebody comes over like, but yeah, anyone can
you can definitely come talk to me, like anyone if
you see me out in the open, you can definitely
come talk to me. You just know in my brain
I might be I hope I look okay, that's the thought.
It's not like that I'm a public figure. Is that
I hope I don't look stupid?
Speaker 2 (30:07):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
But Kay, you have such an interesting question, because yes,
it does seem like we just turned microphones on and
we chat all day and like have fun. But there
is a ton of work that actually goes on behind
the scenes to make our show sound the way it
sounds like everything we say is off the cuff, like
we don't have a script or anything. But there's a
lot of little logistics that go into making our show
happen every day, and some days those logistics can take
(30:29):
three hours and sometimes they can take fifteen.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
So it's kind of like for me, it's maybe.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
The variable of not knowing what my workload might be
from day to day. But the part I love the
most is when I do meet someone who listens to
the show and I impacted their life in a positive way.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
That is absolutely, hands down the most important thing to me.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Because if I get an email from someone who said
me talking about my anxiety really help them out with
their situation, that is the best, absolute, hands down, the.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Best part of my job.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 10 (31:01):
Well, thank you guys. Happy Friday.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
All right, we'll do a few more calls here and
then we're gonna have some Kevin Hart tickets coming up
in just a couple of minutes.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Hello, you're on no phone screen or Friday. What's your name, Tony?
Speaker 5 (31:16):
I know who this is?
Speaker 3 (31:17):
This is, don't get my government.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Shony is the funniest person I know. Now, Shony, you
be appropriate?
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Now, yeah, showed you.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
You're on the radio live. Okay, I do have a
dumb button, but still I don't want to use it. Shony,
What do you want to talk about? You want to
say hi to your buddy Tony.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
Yeah, that's all I wanted to do, is say hey, Tony.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
I just wanted to put it out there, like.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Fine, find enjoy and happiness and all the little things
you do throughout the day.
Speaker 8 (31:45):
And remember you're in control of your emotions. Don't let
other people match with you, you know, just enjoy the
little things and have fun.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
With some motivation on this Friday morning.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Guy, he's so funny. We work together Friday.
Speaker 8 (31:58):
It's Friday, so we gotta live it up, enjoy it.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
But I'm stuck on the fact that Tony so I
figured I.
Speaker 8 (32:04):
Would you know, I'm headed into the the office place.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Is he cute? Is he sing hey kids?
Speaker 4 (32:13):
You know?
Speaker 5 (32:14):
It's not what Bailey asked. I'm stuck on the fact
that his name is Shony and he knows Tony like
I wish I could be somebody named We should start
doing the and Tony show.
Speaker 7 (32:27):
Here.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
I mean Tony, You're one of the funniest people I know.
And if you claim that Shoney is funny.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
He's funny with podcast hands. All right, we're doing it.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Okay, thanks for calling, Shy. All right, one more calling
and we'll wrap this up. Hi, you're on no phone
screener Friday.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
What's your name?
Speaker 10 (32:46):
Kara?
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Hey, Caro? What's going on?
Speaker 7 (32:48):
I just have a question for you guys the VAK Heyday.
I'm just curious how many winners come out of that?
Speaker 8 (32:56):
Is that weekly? Daily?
Speaker 4 (32:58):
It is?
Speaker 1 (32:59):
It's actually it's hourly daily, but full transparency. It is
a nationwide contest, so somebody does win every single hour,
but it's nationwide, so that's why it's a little bit
more difficult. But if you don't play, you're never gonna win.
So your chances, you know, go to zero if you
don't play. So that's why we're like, you gotta still
play because if people think, like maybe you're thinking, I
(33:23):
don't want to play, there's so many people that are playing,
then you're never gonna win, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (33:26):
And funny enough, today's look, we never hear about the winners.
Speaker 8 (33:29):
So that's why I was curious.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Oh yeah, I hear.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
Yeah, it's also our last day doing that at least
for a while, So make sure when you hear those
keywords first one around eight twenty, that you go into it.
Don't waste time.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Yes, all right, Well, thanks for everyone who called in
today for no phone screener Friday.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
We are going to get into a little game here
for Kevin Hart tickets. So if you were listening like
thirty minutes ago, you actually have a little bit of
a leg up than everyone else because we are going
to play the hard follow game once again, where Bailey's
going to read a story that's super detailed and at
(34:05):
the end she'll ask you a question that you have
to answer, and if you know the answer, you're gonna
go see Kevin Hart this weekend on Sunday at the Armory.
So Bailey, go ahead and read us the story one
more time.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
And don't call it. Let Bailey read the story first,
just in case you missed it the first time.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Yes, okay. Joyce has been a tutor for six years.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
She works with preteens from Oakview Middle School to prepare
them for big exams like the PSAT. On a cold
day in November before the snow started to stick. But
after Thanksgiving, Joyce was tutoring Brian, an eighth grader who
was struggling in algebra.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
They worked on long division, complex multiplication, and variables.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Brian's sister, Rita, was in sixth grade and liked to
learn most about poetry, especially Shakespeare. On this day, while
Brian was working on algebra and Rita was reading They're
Adorable Brown, Saint Bernard Max burst through the kitchen door
with a fish in his mouth, knocking over the table
they worked at. Joyce didn't know what to do or
how to get the kids back on track, so she
(35:03):
grabbed the pink leash, hooked it on Max, and they
all walked to the lake to get ice cream.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Okay, all right, so what is your question for people
listening that want to win the Kevin Hart tickets?
Speaker 3 (35:14):
Tell us your question right now.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
All right?
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Your question is who was Rita's favorite poet?
Speaker 5 (35:19):
George Lopez? Is he a poet?
Speaker 3 (35:21):
No, you're not answering.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
This is for our listeners, so you can give us
a call right now six five, one, nine, eight nine,
Katie W b if you know that answer one more time,
the question Bailey.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Who was Rita's favorite poet.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
I have no idea, so I'm happy. I don want
to answer this right now.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
I'm going to the box of rocks. I have no
idea to somebody's going to school.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
I feel like this is kind of hard for anyone
who's more of a visual learner like myself, because just
hearing a full detailed story like that, it just doesn't
stick in my brain. If I saw it written down
on a piece of paper real quick, though, my mind
would pick out specific words and be able to remember that.
But we'll see, we'll see who can do it. And
that other voice that you're hearing randomly right now, that's
our friend Tony.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
He's in studio to hang out with us to day
to play mixtape game coming up in just a few minutes,
so we'll be doing that as soon as we get
a winner for this contest.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
It looks like we've got someone on the phone. Good morning, Hi.
Is this Liz?
Speaker 5 (36:15):
It is Liz.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Where you're calling from today?
Speaker 5 (36:18):
North Branch?
Speaker 3 (36:19):
What's going on in North Branch? Anything exciting? Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
My boyfriend works up the.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
North Branch quite a bit and he's always like, oh,
I gotta go to North Branch day all right, Liz
Bailey's gonna ask you this question.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
You let us know if you know the answer.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Okay, Liz, who was Rita's favorite poet Shakespeare?
Speaker 10 (36:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (36:38):

Speaker 7 (36:40):
